Nature & Parks
West Park is a 17-acre Victorian-era park that offers a picturesque setting with its beautiful lawns, lakes, and Victorian architecture. Open to the public from Thursday to Sunday each week, this archetypal Victorian park features sweeping lawns, botanical gardens, forested avenues, and ornamental lakes. It boasts Grade II listed structures such as a bandstand and lakeside conservatory. The park also provides amenities like tennis courts, a bowling green, and a children's play area.
Lovely big open space to bring the kids. They do events throughout the year as well. It's a nice big playground for babies/toddlers and big kids alike. Toilets on site as well as a small cafe area. Massive pool to come and feed the birds. Plenty of seating dotted around. Free parking is allocated all around the park itself. Some history aspects to look at. Picturesque views. Band stand areas. Exotic plant area which a lot of the time isn't open to the public. Nice family day out to be had here or just some down time to yourself

Such a lovely park to walk around: a lake with lots of water birds; lots of different trees; tennis courts and exercise area; play area for the children; public toilets; a place to buy ice-cream. There are lots of benches to sit and enjoy the park and a lovely area with flower beds too. Lots of free car parking spaces around the outside of the park.
Kay G — Google review
Beautiful park, you can bring a picnic. There are benches all around the park so you can sit in shade or in sun. There are greylag geese, Canadian geese, mallards and coots, swans, squirrels, pigeons and seagulls. It is absolutely huge and full of beautiful trees and flowers. Can easily spend an entire day there. Take sweetcorn and peas defrosted and some bread, nut mix for the squirrels and bird seed for pigeons, and you’ll have friends following you all day. One of my favourite places on earth!!
Teresa C — Google review
I love West Park. It's a great park for a walk. Play park is good. I sometimes take my grandchildren. There should however be much better facilities. They are awful. Surroundings are just beautiful. Who'd think you were near the disappointing "city" of Wolverhampton. The "city" has lost it's appeal.
Caron J — Google review
Its a huge park , best for picnic.. there are swings for the kids and a beautiful lake. Love this place❤️
Hamna K — Google review
I love this place when I crave my peace and quiet. Beautiful grass, vegetation and birds. I'm an addict, can't go more than a week without visiting. Suitable for both children and adults.
Yvonne M — Google review
West Park in Wolverhampton is a nice peaceful retreat with lots of Wildlife and Nature, as well as beautifully patterned planting beds. I really enjoy walking around there for meditation and fresh air, especially on a Sunny day. The only downfall I'd say is there seem to be a few homeless people who frequently sleep on one of the benches. It's embarrassing that it's the year 2025, money circulating by the trillions, and yet still homelessness isn't addressed at all!. Drug addiction and alcoholism are still supported via an enabling coupon System, and it's just accepted as the norm. I feel sorry for these people. Other than that, it's a beautiful park worth a visit. I regularly do photography here.
Ashley J — Google review
A wonderful park for a long walk around. There is a lot to see and do, a large lake and a bandstand full of tributes to local boy Liam Payne.

Wightwick Manor and Gardens, owned by the National Trust, is a well-preserved Victorian manor located in Wolverhampton. The manor showcases the Arts and Crafts movement with its timber-framed structure and interiors adorned with works by prominent artists like William Morris and Pre-Raphaelites such as Edward Burne-Jones. The estate has been meticulously maintained since 1937, offering visitors a glimpse into the grandeur of the late 19th century.
Such a beautiful place both the house and the gardens. I would also like to make a special mention to all the staff I spoke to today, they were all so kind, knowledgeable, helpful and funny! The passion they all have for this site is so amazing and infectious - thank you 😊.
Charlotte T — Google review
One of the best National Trust I have been up till today! The volunteers give you some very interesting stories about the family who lived in the Hall. The Gardens are full of different types and colours fruits. You will meet a romantic lake during your walking around the gardens.
Olga M — Google review
A very peaceful place to visit. During our autumn day out at Wightwick (pronounced Wittick) there was a lovely calm about the place. Autumn had definitely arrived and the serenity of all the beautiful colours was joyful. The grounds are not too vast, but there are plenty of different areas, plus a woodland walk & a couple of small ponds. The house itself is extremely beautiful, from the decadence of the interior, to the architectural splendour of the exterior. There is a large tearoom, gift shop & second-hand bookshop, which are all worth a visit. Definitely a place I recommend, it's well worth it.
Dyan R — Google review
I have been here a number of times and it is such a lovely smaller national trust, after the initial walk in everything is all together (house, cafe, shop, gardens). There are a couple of nice little walks around the grounds but I wouldn’t recommend if it was raining as they become quite slippery and boggy. I would recommend getting here on the time of opening as parking is very difficult anytime afterwards. There is a buggy service for anyone who can’t make the initial walk up to the house too
Gee H — Google review
Love this place! Went for the first time during the 6 weeks holidays with my 9 year old and another relative and we had a fantastic day! Its so interesting learning about the history of the manor house and the mander family who lived there So much to see and do, we walked round the manor house twice at request of my daughter, the grounds are stunning! And she loved the wooden play area in the woods We had a really tasty waffle cone from the ice cream shop and even bought home some produce they had grown on their allotments from the shop We went back again last weekend for their heritage open day and apple harvest got to harvest some apples and take them home Amazing

If you love arts and crafts and all things beautiful- this is a great place. Full of beautiful wallpaper, ceilings, fireplaces, tiles, paintings, ceramics, materials, stained glass and architecture a real eclectic mix. The staff are wonderful-very knowledgeable, friendly and welcoming. Spent the afternoon here and could spend a whole year here and still have more to see. Yet to visit the 17 acres - more for another wonderful trip.
Annette C — Google review
Wightwick is my favourite NT property so far and Ive visited a lot. The building is beautiful but the house has the most welcoming feel the second you walk through the door. It almost invites you in. Im not sure my pictures do it justice. I also have to say the guides who are volunteers are so knowledgeable. They made the visit even more enjoyable. Coffee and cake afterwards in the tea room. Perfect. This beautiful property is a definitely must visit. I loved it.
Faith O — Google review
Lovely place, plenty to see and walk around. The house is very impressive inside and the guides were very knowledgeable. Garden areas are well maintained and varied in what you can see. Didn’t walk around a lot outside as it started to rain after a while but we took a quick stroll through the woodland down by the lake.

Northycote Farm is a charming Tudor farmhouse and tearoom that offers a delightful experience for families. The farm features a variety of working animals such as sheep, cows, and chickens, allowing visitors to interact with these friendly creatures. Additionally, the farm provides walking trails and picnic spots amidst its natural beauty, making it an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.
Finally went here for a coffee, plenty of pjaces to sit in the old farm yard and food/drinus sre reasonably priced and tastey. There Is also a free section where you can see some of the animals and another area for dog walkers. Abd its free to park, my only gripe is the coffee shuts s little too early
S ( — Google review
Nice for dog walks and if you want to take little kiddies💙
Medusa N — Google review
Lovely little local gem for families, nice open spaces and woods for children to play or take your dogs for a walk.Lovely picnic areas. The cafe is such a quaint place to enjoy some nice food, teas, coffee and selection of delicious cakes or ice-creams.Always excellent , friendly service from the staff and the prices are really reasonable too.
Debz — Google review
Found this by chance as a convenient meeting/coffee spot not far off the M6 and would also highly recommend it for families and people who want some time to themselves. There are lovely different spaces from wild areas to the pens for chickens, ducks and sheep. You can see how much work is put in by volunteers on the beautiful gardens and there are some nice memorials as well.
Clare W — Google review
The cafe is brilliant and the walk around the reserve+ farm yard, great place to unwind.
J J — Google review
A great little cafe with delicious cakes & a good range of food for adults and children. The cafe does take cards & toilets are right next to it for public access. At peak times (mainly weekends & school holidays) you may struggle to get a seat, particularly if you are a group of 5+ as the pics show. Dogs are not allowed in the farm area but are allowed in the cafe and surrounding area.
A C — Google review
Hadn't been for a while but I'm sure I remembered more animals than chickens and ducks, disappointing on the farm front could be so much better to draw more families in. Plenty of space for more animals. Wasn't there long enough to want a drink so didn't try the tea room
Debbie — Google review
Great place to take the kids. You can see farm animals. There is a tea room. There is a sensory garden too though it is currently temporarily still closed as a result of COVID19. There is a car park right next door for easy access and you can walk straight into Northycote Country park with great walks, woods, space ...etc. is not far from Wolverhampton but feels remote and off the beaten track. Love it. Often take the family there.

Parks
Baggeridge Country Park, located just four miles south of Wolverhampton, is a redeveloped mining land offering 150 acres of woodland trails, meadows, marshes, and water on hilly terrain. The park features an aerial ropes course, sensory garden, and a newly renovated play area with swings and slides for younger children and a large climbing frame for older kids. It has been recognized as a Green Flag winner every year since 1998.
Great place for walking the dog, taking the kids exploring or just a stroll around to relax. There are toilets and a cafe at the car park, further toilets and another cafe if you walk down to Himley Hall as a convenient half way point. Many paths are accessible by wheelchair with dedicated circular routes. Pay and display parking or a yearly pass available from the rangers office. If going off the main paths it can get a bit muddy in the wet and some steep hills.
Phil W — Google review
Lovely park with great playground for kids, occasional mini train and lots of woodland walks. Would give it 5 stars but could do with more dog poo bins and I'm annoyed that some families allow their dogs to jump into Bag Pool which has scared away all the ducks and geese that used to live there.
Katie E — Google review
We hadn't been for years and wanted a to go for a walk. Good pathways, some a bit steep, but ok for us. Just got a little lost with the trail signage( might need updating to make it clearer) Otherwise a good walk round by the lakes. Toilet area was clean. And we had a drink in the cafe. Plenty of paid parking. And a good play area for younger children. Very enjoyable
KATHRYN J — Google review
Lovely local park! Parking is just £3.50 for the whole day, making it a great spot for a relaxed visit. It takes around 45 minutes for a round-trip walk to Himley Hall, which is a nice addition to your visit if you’re up for a stroll. The park itself is beautiful, with a peaceful pond full of ducks and plenty of scenic walking paths to explore in different directions. There are lots of perfect picnic spots scattered around, ideal for a family day out or a quiet afternoon. I haven’t had the chance to try the mini railway yet, but it looks like fun and is definitely on my list for next time! There’s also a charming local shop where you can grab hot drinks, cakes, sandwiches, and even ice cream. On a cold day, a hot chocolate really hits the spot while walking around. A lovely, well-kept place to enjoy nature and unwind.

Lovely place for a family to walk around, and see a beautiful scenery
Ieva D — Google review
Visited here with family members and children as there was a meet Batman and Spiderman day for the children. There was a small funfair manly for the smaller children. Had to purchase tokens to get onto the rides..some rides were two tokens other rides were 3. The children played on the park area after, we had a nice afternoon. You have to pay for parking also...but only by card or using the app. Toilets are available near the play area.

Went here as a series of field trips for my university to do some nature related studies as part of my course 😄 It was a lovely walk, we saw lots of different animals and plants. Would recommend to any likewise birdwatchers or fellow wildlife lovers.

Beautiful tranquil nature reserve, perfect for peace and quiet with your dog,on a lead . Lots of ducks, swans and heron's and horses to see . Totally free to walk and ponder on a beautiful day! Open usually 10 -4pm
Jules G — Google review
Beautiful place to walk. Small car park (no charge), lots of wildlife. Open till 4pm. Dogs must be kept on leads to protect the local wildlife. Quite muddy in places. Not suitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.
Melanie B — Google review
Lovely walk today, getting close to the wildlife. Good amenities and great for all ages. Bit muddy still in places but the team are doing a great job of trying to make all areas safe to walk on. Pleasantly surprised at this out of the way nature reserve. Will definitely go again, maybe see the peacock on the next visit instead of just hearing it.
Sue M — Google review
Small but very clean park nice for walk with dog. What surprised me there was public toilets . Bigger parks not often have got this facilities . Also bins for rubbish were around which are important to keep place clean.

Great space. Free parking, open until 4pm. Dogs can go, but must remain on a lead. In normal circumstances, toilets available. Tracks around the lake. 2x well constructed viewing platforms to see the lake and wildlife. Typical slow walk takes about 1hr. Well managed site.

Tettenhall Green is a charming spot that truly shines during the summer months, making it a favorite destination for families and children alike. With its inviting paddling pools, it's an ideal place to cool off while enjoying quality time outdoors. Nestled within Tettenhall Village, visitors can easily explore delightful coffee shops and quaint stores nearby, perfect for picking up refreshments like drinks, cakes, or ice cream for a lovely picnic on the green.
Walk this park 4-5 days a week. Beautiful. Shows all the seasons from cricket in the summer and conkers and horse chestnuts in the autumn. Muddy in parts in winter but worth it

Certainly! The Tettenhall Food Festival offered a delightful array of global cuisines and diverse stalls. With its well-equipped facilities and the blessing of lovely weather, it was a perfect outing. Even if you don't eat or  buy anything enjoying the ambiance is enough to make a day memorable. If you're looking for a relaxing day out with good food and a variety of stalls, festivals like these are a great choice.

A stunning Elizabethan home that sheltered King Charles II during his escape from the Roundheads in 1651 is now open to the public as a tourist attraction. The Moseley Old Hall estate includes a knot garden and cafe, and is located just outside of Birmingham.
A very cute small national trust place that packs a lot of value into a little package. The house is very nice and appealing with gardens that are wonderfully put together. Including a little orchard, a small French style ornamental hedge, and even a small farmyard with a little gaggle of ducks and rabbits occupying one corner. There was a very good little cafe, second hand bookstore, and a nice gift shop. The car park was large enough for most vehicles, though the roads to get there are quite small so be aware of that. Finally, there are some cute walks through some old and new meadows, woodland and nature.
Graeme B — Google review
Loved it very nice lots of new things in the grounds. House is great. The cafe is smashing food very tasty we had tea and fruit scones. Jam and cream. Staff were very helpful We haven't been for at least 5 years. The improvements to the grounds really do look good activities for children the new walk way it all looks good
Barbara S — Google review
Lovely quaint National Trust site to visit on a quiet Sunday! The staff here clearly love their location and love sharing the history of the place, really friendly older lady upstairs in the attic rooms who showed us hidden details we hadn’t spotted ourselves. The grounds are beautiful and so lovely on a sunny day - we didn’t attend with children but the park looked like a cool hide-away and very natural for the kids. Awesome history. :)
Georgie — Google review
This was another amazing place to visit. I highly recommend taking the tour as the lovely guides are so knowledgeable and bring the house to life with the history of the place. We had a lovely coffee and cake in the cafe afterwards. This place has made the grounds for the enjoyment of children. It is a fantastic place for adults with the house and the outside adventures for children. Definitely a must. No photos allowed in the house just the grounds.
Faith O — Google review
Secluded hidden gem of a National Trust, not far from the motorway. Not a big site, compared with other National Trust. Doesn't have extensive size gardens. As a result, not crowded. Cafe available with seating indoors and outdoors. Note, cafe is located on the 1st floor, no lift available. Cafe has a smaller selection of hot food, usual scones, pasties and soups. Guided tours available, 45 minutes duration. Outdoor activities for children including climbable treehouse.
Jan-Fei L — Google review
We went here with friends. Absolutely loved it. One of the best days out we've had. Both our kids and our friend's kids enjoyed it. Big outdoor area with a tree house, the house itself is incredible. Draped in history and the staff were knowledgeable and welcoming, happy to answer questions or give information. The building is beautiful. The only one issue we found was the cafe choices for food wasn't great. Didn't have jacket potatoes and what they did have was very expensive. We loved it and would definitely recommend a family day out here.
Polar F — Google review
Great house. Very informative volunteers. It was a beautiful day when I visited, so it was lovely to walk round the gardens, take a moment to sit on one of the many benches and reflect.
Caron J — Google review
Lovely old house going back to before the reformation. Charles II hid here for a few days. But it's overall history is far more interesting with characters and events offering a broad look at life over the centuries. Most interesting was the talk given by a chap about 'barber surgeons' and their instruments, not for the squeamish.

An oasis of calm, bird song, nature and art installations. Surrounded by poplar trees and a variety of British species Willenhall Park is a real find. Highly recommended to visit with children , dog walks or just to sit and listen to the songs of nature. There is a wonderful bandstand , a rose walk , toilets. Easy to walk into the town , call in at one if the cafes for a coffee before exploring some of the towns history. One of the friendliest places on the planet , Willenhall has a lot to offer if you care to look. Market days are also worth a visit.

Lovely well kept park, walked my dog and she met so many friendly pups, has open fields and walkways all around, also fished here and is very nice with plenty of pegs is a day ticket of £5 though. Overall a brilliant park, highly recommend.
Elliott M — Google review
It used to be nicer, but seems to be unloved somewhat these days. The Friends of the park are trying their best, I'm sure, but there is an obvious lack of investment from the council, which is a shame. Paths are becoming rough and muddy and the gardens are no longer planted. However, if you live in the area, it is still a good asset to be able to get out and about, away from the busy roads. Probably less than 1½ miles around the perimeter, but various paths through the middle that help make a bigger walk if you want one. The playground is okay, along with the splash pool (if it ever opens) in the better weather.
Brian M — Google review
Nice little play park nestled in a quiet corner. The rest of the patk is home to 2 tennis courts, a basketball court, and a mini skate park. The little play park has a wet play area, but this wasn't on when we went. The grounds themselves are super cute. I would recommend this place for a picnic or a family day out.

East Park, established in 1896, spans 18 hectares and features various amenities such as walking paths, football pitches, a paddling pool, and tennis courts. The park has consistently maintained its Green Flag status for several years. Along with other parks like West Park, Phoenix Park, and Bantock Park, it offers an ideal setting for a budget-friendly day out with opportunities for picnics and leisurely strolls.
Lovely park, just some updates in regard to facilities- there is no paddling pool anymore instead there is a splash pad and new larger play area. Splash pad gets turned on towards the end of spring start of summer. Other details seem to be correct, public toilets which are open daily and usually between the hours of 8-3pm. Parks opening times vary throughout the year with it closing gradually later in the summer months so make sure to check the notice boards on site to avoid getting locked inside. Very nice park to walk around plenty of room for football and other activities such as tennis or walking your dog. Cherry blossoms around the bandstand in spring are beautiful.

Last time I came here there was a paddling pool, it has now been adapted, to a multi function play area with a spray water area, lovely for the children on a hot day also adapted for disabled users, granddaughter said it's the best park ever 😁

Lovely, fair sized park in the middle of a mostly industrial area. A quiet oasis a mile or so out of the city centre, where you can park up and have a few minutes peace... Or eat your lunch... Had a proper walk around it today, and I am amazed by how much they have packed into this park. Great paths around the edge (just over a mile in length) and others meandering through clumps of trees. Football pitches, a parade ground, clock, bandstand, children's playground, lido and even a bicycle club track...
Brian M — Google review
Visited here a number of times. Great paths for a nice walk around the perimeter and through park. Play area looks great for kids, water fountains on sometimes. Also some gym items. Toilet block open in the middle of park. Plenty of well behaved dogs, lots of space for them.

The park is nice and beautiful. It has lots of playing activities like football fields, basketball, children playing ground, etc. There is Morden children playing area under construction which will open very soon after construction. Lots of gym, sports and exercise apparatus there. Lots of people were coming there to exercise including running and cycling. The very well known pool has now converted into Morden children playground which was still under construction. The place is quiet and cool, nice for quiet time and relaxations. I enjoy visiting there with my family. Recommended.

Nestled in Wolverhampton, Bantock Park is a delightful blend of history and nature that invites visitors to unwind and explore. Originally the home of Baldwin Bantock, a notable local businessman, this park boasts the charming Bantock House Museum, which showcases the family's legacy since its establishment in 1938. The park features expansive green spaces ideal for family outings or leisurely strolls along its circular paths.
My favorite park foe walks. Nice and big nature friendly area, where you can walk with your dog, good playground gor kids, very beautiful places, Bartok Cafe, pet friendly, tasty and welcoming. Nice Bantok museum. Many events happening there.

Nice open spaces for a game of footie, play area, green gym equipment, golf putting area. Home to Bantock House museum with a good cafe. Rose garden. Circular path, great for a stroll, run or dog walk. The loos are in the cafe courtyard so not open after about 5 or 6pm, but the Hungry Horse pub is nearby. A reasonable amount of parking but it can get busy. There are often events in and around the house such as antique fairs, craft fairs etc. There are other events such as bouncy castles and outdoor theatre in the summer.

This is a good community park. The local residents are predominantly Sikh and it's a great place for families and people to exercise or chill out. I'd give it a 5 star because the exercise facilities are all in good condition (see photo) and spread nicely around the pathways, but there is quite a lot of litter which is unfortunate. Nonetheless, a good local asset, right off the vibrant Dudley Road.

Visitors can explore the area through various trails, including former railway lines and canal paths, providing stunning views of the valley. Bird watching, photography, and wildlife spotting are popular activities in this pristine woodland area.
Lovely place to go for a walk, the path was mostly wheelchair friendly which was needed for our family. There are areas where a wheelchair user may need assistance where the floor is slightly uneven but shouldn't cause too much of an issue. It's a really beautiful place!

I only give this place a 4*due to only having one toilet and the key is located in the cafe, but you can't have it unless you buy something, The museum is full of wonderful and informative people and things to see but is not big enough for a mobility scooter, there's also a little gift shop run by two lovely ladies and reasonably priced items. I was there attending an event on The British Legion stall.

The property hosts various events and fairs throughout the year, making it a perfect destination for families. A must must visit place if you are a person who loves walking in the nature, small hikes with mesmerising waterfall sound , birds chirping and walking on beautiful trails or may be you can bike.. and the enjoy a perfect cup of coffee with a wide sunset view. Oh god it has everything ❤️🌻
Mansi C — Google review
First time going to Himley Hall, and loved the Christmas lights and lasers, even though it was on the last night they were there (29 December), but in a way, the smaller crowds made it more intimate and magical. Went on the big wheel too - and the highlight of that was that there was a power cut just before we got on. Everyone in the queue cheered! 👍. Only down point was the horrendous state of the portable toilets (by the big wheel). It was the end of the session when I had to use them (approx 8.15pm) but even so, I almost gagged at the state of a couple of them 💩💩😩. But all in all, we will deffo make another visit in the Spring in daylight to explore the estate again, with our 2 small dogs too 🐕🐕❤️
John G — Google review
Went on Bank Holiday so was very busy, good amount of parking £4.50 for the day. Cute little ponds and a nice lake. Disabled friendly around the houses and one disabled toilet with baby change. The play park equipment was great fun the older kid loved it all only a small play set for the little one though. There is a golf club and coffee lounge with gallery. The bathroom facilities are below average in cleanliness standard. This place is dog friendly but lots of owners did let dogs with an unsuitable recall off leash so be aware with your kids.

Lovely big open space for all the family to enjoy. I was glad to see they had their dinosaur problem solved with the use of some metal fencing. I should imagine these prehistoric beasties caused a lot of problems for them before their capture. Richard D — Google review
Priory Park in Dudley offers a captivating blend of history and nature, with its striking historical ruins and diverse, vibrant greenery. The ancient ruins, steeped in historical charm, stand as a focal point, while a variety of tall, lush trees—including a particularly impressive towering tree—create a serene, shaded environment along the winding paths. These features make the park a promising spot for history buffs and nature lovers alike, with the potential to be a true community treasure. Regrettably, several issues detract from the park’s appeal and demand attention. A damaged plaque leaves visitors without information about the ruins’ history, while a pond in one of the gardens, reduced to mostly mud with little water, feels neglected and diminishes the garden’s charm. Litter scatters the paths and lawns despite ample bins, and groups openly drinking beer from cans disrupt the tranquil atmosphere. It’s a shame to see such a beautiful park hindered by these shortcomings—improved maintenance, clear signage, and better oversight could restore Priory Park to its full potential.

It has a basket ball court and a tennis court. There are plenty of bins located Round the park. There has been some new additions to the play park. The play park is gated in and has an excersise area close by with a zip line and a few extra additions outside the gated play park. There is mostly dog walkers and children on this park never really any trouble makers around. There is a shop within walking distance. There are no toilets. The park is kept maintained very well. There is little to none litter. There is a fair that comes around once a year and has a dedicated neighbourhood watch team. Football on Sundays.

Idiots that tell their dogs to attack other dogs seem to congregate on here. Overflowing dog waste bins, overgrown bushes and holly bushes you have to fight to get past in some areas. Quite a nice park. The kids play area is OK, fairly well equipped. Nice to have an ice cream van. The outside gym is well equipped but suffers a little from vandalism unfortunately. The grounds are nice and really well kept. Great to see some areas allowed to grow some natural habitats for insect life. I use a wheelchair and the park is pretty accessible too. My only thing I wasn't sure about was the groups of young adults smoking dope in the park grounds. I do appreciate they have to go somewhere, and they weren't at all disrespectful, but I find it unpleasant and uncomfortable inhaling their smoke.
Paul G — Google review
Very good park and facilities. Could be improved by not having ice cream van with engine running parked only a few feet from child's play entrance and picnic tables. Cleaner air and less noise. Needs to have longer access to toilet as users frequently end up having to go behind bushes. Since posting 4 years ago the council have seen the light and you no longer have ice-cream van with engine running by young people playground and tables.

King George V Playing Fields. Goodness me, When My sisters, friends, cousins and of cause me practically lived there during the summer months, when we were young. There were and still are large playing fields there and the park for us kids with a very large paddling pool (but since been removed many years ago.) There was a slide and swings a witches hat or round about, a sand pit. The fun we had but all those have now been replaced with a small sandpit some swings all enclosed inside a fence for children's safety. For the older kids there is the skateboard or bike park where the kids do all their favourite stunts. There are walk ways and benches where you can sit and relax in the nice weather. Not forgetting the keep fit items where you can try out to your hearts content and it's free. You can take the kids and yourselves for a picnic there, there is plenty of room. There are no toilets there the nearest is in Wednesfield centre or Bentley Bridge. King George V Playng Fields are accessible by bus as two or three buses are en route. There is no car park the nearest is Bentley Bridge. Or why not take a stroll there or pass through it on the way into Wednesfield centre or Bentley Bridge. Enjoy the peace and quiet walking with friends and family and reminiscing of days gone by.

Fowler’s Park is one of the recipients of the Green Flag Award, a prestigious recognition for parks and green spaces. The park has undergone significant renovations in recent years, offering potential as a source of community pride. Despite some issues with vandalism and disruptive behavior, it provides a therapeutic and peaceful environment with various amenities such as free gym equipment, basketball court, children's play area, and football field. It holds sentimental value for many locals who have fond memories of spending time there during their childhood.
Very therapeutic refreshing relaxing and peaceful. Lots of activities and a variety of gym equipment available for free. It’s amazing and it’s fat beyond me to think of how the fowlers thought of such a priceless act of generosity to a community. Words do fail me to express my heartfelt appreciation and gratitude. 🙏

This is a lovely and easy to access park, there is availability for children, football games, bicycles and a nice walk around the park. The park has lights everywhere, big trees and a little lake in the middle with benches around. There is a basket court, skating board play area and adults exercise equipment.

A large part of my childhood spent on the playing fields of Fowler Park. Nice to see that the area is well looked after and appreciated by the local community.

The council has spent a considerable amount of tax payers money on doing this place up over the last year or so. It now has great potential to be somewhere to be proud of and it is starting to look nice. However, it is still full of kids with motorcycles and people with drink and drug issues. Some of the new infrastructure has already been damaged. This is a complete shame and shows that quite clearly the council are out of touch with what actually happens in their city. The park needs to be policed and secured properly. Get a grip, Wolverhampton City Council you need to do more.

Essington Pools, located in the small village of Essington near Wolverhampton, offers a peaceful and relaxing environment for visitors. The area features two picturesque pools surrounded by footpaths, making it an ideal spot for leisurely walks while enjoying the sounds of nature. The wheelchair-accessible paths are popular among dog walkers and birdwatchers, with some areas intentionally left wild to promote biodiversity.
Great walk, wonderful Autumn colours and lots of wildlife and all on hard standing paths.
David F — Google review
Nice small park and pool area with one large pub style bench and several other regular benches, a green with a rock feature and short walk under trees kindly decorated with homemade nature inspired crafts from the local community. Fishermen are often perched on the pool (unfortunately they populate the air with weed). It has its own car park. Some paths have been recently resurfaced. I typically spend about 20 minutes here or pass through on a jog. Dog walkers and children are often here. It seems well kept and used.

Pleasant place to walk the dog. Not a large place but peaceful and relaxing. Also has a small box by the tree opposite the car park in which people can leave books for others to read. Box is labelled up "Brownshore Library"

Grew up running around this place. It's changed a lot over the years. There are now footpaths all around. Lovely to walk around hearing the birds singing. The paths are wheelchair accessible but some areas have been left for re-wilding. Popular with dog walkers.

Lovely small lake. That looks very well looked after by the local community. Unfortunately hight barrier to the car park. But you can park on the road right outside if you're in a van.

David Austin Roses Ltd, founded by the renowned rose breeder David Austin, has grown from a humble family-run business into a global leader in rose production over the past 60 years. The company is celebrated for cultivating exquisite English Roses and offers visitors the opportunity to explore its award-winning, aroma-filled gardens for free.
Well as a rose lover I have never been disappointed with my visits here and today was wonderful. A real treat to wander through the gardens. The roses were stunning. The crowds were out as it was a beautiful day so the cafe and restaurant was packed but I postponed my tea until 4pm and by then there was more space. Loved the gift shop and bought my long sleeved gloves. Wish there was online shopping as I miss being able to buy the cards, new mugs, rose crockery and serviettes etc that I love.

I have purchased DA roses from garden centres many times over the years and finally visited the DA roses shop and gardens in Shropshire. Wow, it was even better than I'd hoped. Plenty of free parking, and stunning rose gardens on display. There is a lovely cafe and also a restaurant that serves fantastic food, a good variety with friendly service. A wonderful gift shop is on site too and of course, plenty of DA roses on sale plus a number of companion plants. We'll worth a visit. Of course I came away with 4 lady of shallot rose plants plus a few companion plants too. Very happy gardener.

Beautiful place and garden to walk around looking at so many varieties of Roses was a treat for me, staff are friendly and approachable if wanting any info, they also have nice clean toilets for everyone and a nice restaurant. Also we visited the gift shop and bought a strawberry Rose plant. Me and my hubby had a wonderful time taking selfies and sitting on the benches in the gardens enjoying the flowers an butterflies. Awesome place would recommend to everyone.

Our visit to David Austin Roses proved to be a truly delightful experience. They have a good selection of beautiful roses, which we happily spent most of our morning leisurely walking among and admiring throughout their extensive garden centre. Beyond the floral displays, their establishment also features a lovely restaurant. The quality of the roses themselves was undeniably superb, reflecting their renowned reputation. We highly recommend a visit to anyone looking for exquisite roses or simply a beautiful and serene garden centre experience.

Loved my visit. Beautiful upmarket garden centre. Everything about it was top notch. Great brown sign posting to find the place, which my family and I appreciated. The parking was ample with plenty of disabled parking too. The entrance is via the shop. The shop was set up in a high class way and sold an array of items on the pricey side, but all of excellent quality. To the left in the shop there was the entrance to the cottage style walled garden rooms that are breathtakingly beautiful (even though when we went it was absolutely pouring down with rain) in one of the gardens there was a gorgeous under roof pavilion to sit in to view the long water feature. There were a fabulous mix of roses of course, but wonderful companion planting too. To the right in the shop you go through an entrance into the sale area where the most gorgeous roses are displayed with excellent signage as to what the roses offer, such as high fragrance and repeat flowering etc. I appreciated the roses being put in type order too i.e climbers, ramblers and pollinator friendly etc. The toilets were very clean and well appointed. Every staff member was exceptional. One lady in particular who worked at the front desk in the gorgeous restaurant building went over and above to assist us with seating (I have a physical disability). The food on offer was lovely albeit expensive, but to be expected at such a 5 star garden centre and we didn't have to wait long for it, although they did forget one of the dishes and we had to chase it up, which they were apologetic about. My husband, family and I were super impressed by our whole experience. We would definitely go again. I highly recommend this heavenly place!

I am ABSOLUTELY coming back this is going back into my bucket list (*^▽^*)

Lovely visit to David Austen yesterday. Beautiful displays of utterly gorgeous roses. Grounds are well maintained and lovely to just stroll around the various rose gardens. Opted to have lunch in the cafe and after a slight wait we were seated by pleasant staff. Food arrived quickly, was hot and good quality.

St Peters Gardens is a serene and charming park located in the bustling city center. Despite ongoing restoration work at the nearby church, this peaceful garden offers a lovely retreat for visitors seeking tranquility amidst the urban hustle. The proximity to the church adds to its allure, making it an ideal spot for leisurely strolls and quiet contemplation. With its picturesque setting, St Peters Gardens provides a delightful escape from the city's hustle and bustle.
Lovely peaceful park garden in busy city centre.
Mark D — Google review
Could be better - OK, the church is undergoing work, but the homeless people and drunks are only outnumbered by the massive rats that are countless in the park. I think they'd even chase off the pied piper if he tried to remove them! Given it's proximity to the council HQ, it's a tad embarrassing really.
