(Translated by Google) The old Church of Saints Justo and Pastor, from the 12th and 13th centuries, became the Fueros Museum in 2007. This church on the street of Santos Justo y Pastor de Sepúlveda, one of the most beautiful areas of this historic Segovian town, was declared a National Monument in 1931, and has housed in its interior since 2007 the Museum of the Fueros, which was created for the conservation and dissemination of these documents, of great importance in the Middle Ages for the town. It is located within the wall that protected Sepúlveda, behind the Puerta del Azogue, a word that means market, so possibly the market would be developed in its vicinity. This Romanesque style church must have been one of the most relevant churches in Sepúlveda, which seems to be confirmed by the importance of the burials that were carried out in its side chapels. In the 15th century, the four original semicircular arches were replaced by two larger ones and the Mudejar coffered ceiling was installed. As for the museum's collection, it houses pieces from the 13th century to the 18th century, documents, sculptures, paintings, silverware and textiles that demonstrate the richness and extensive development of Sepúlveda's artistic heritage. Inside is also the city's Tourist Office.

(Translated by Google) It is supposed to be the museum of fueros, but it lacks information, documentation and samples. All there is is religious stuff. And nothing more. There are a few panels and a lot of statues. There is a sad audio and video to read, each 4 or 5 minutes long. Museum? Well... Of jurisdiction?? Surely not. It's not even worth the €3 or €4 it costs. Safe visit for fans of religious themes and NOTHING ELSE. A real shame. The only useful thing is the girl who serves. We have learned more from what she told us as an introduction than from the "museum" itself. Museo? Bueno... (Translated by Google) An epigraph near the church reads: "Romanesque in style and built between the 12th and 13th centuries, it surprises with its slender tower and complex basilica plan, with three naves and each of them with a semicircular apse - there is no other Romanesque like it in Sepúlveda. The church was restored a few years ago to house the Fueros Museum, where you can learn about the history of the town and discover its important historical-artistic heritage. In the same way, the museum lighting exceptionally shows the visitor its surprising Mudejar coffered ceiling or the exquisite carving of the capitals: quadrumanous monsters, harpies, compositions based on the adoration of the Three Wise Men or the martyrdom of its titular saints."

Nestled within the historic walls of Sepúlveda, the Iglesia de los Santos Justo y Pastor stands as a testament to Romanesque architecture from the 12th and 13th centuries. Declared a National Monument in 1931, this magnificent church is located near the ancient market gate known as Puerta del Azogue. Its strategic position suggests it was once one of the most significant churches in Sepúlveda, which boasted fifteen parishes during its peak.

(Translated by Google) The Church of San Justo is a magnificent testimony of Romanesque art from the 12th and 13th centuries, and has been declared a National Monument since 1931. With a basilica plan, it is the only Romanesque church in Sepúlveda that has three naves (something rare in rural Romanesque), so it must have been one of the most important churches in Sepúlveda. It currently houses the Museum of the Fueros, in which a thematic tour has been arranged that has the following chapters: the history of Sepúlveda, Patronage and Patronage, the Fueros in the Middle Ages, the men of the Fuero and the Community of Villa y Tierra from Sepulveda. In the three naves of the temple, its high choir and its unique crypt, sculptures, paintings, historical documents and archaeological remains are exhibited, all of them original, related to each of the aforementioned aspects, covering a chronology between the 17th century. XIII and the s. XVIII. A series of audiovisuals and illustrated panels help the visitor learn the basic aspects of each of the topics covered. We went on Tuesday, December 5 and it was closed. Nestled in the heart of Spain, Sepúlveda is a charming medieval town that invites exploration and discovery. As you wander away from the main square towards the west, you'll be greeted by breathtaking views of the Caslilla River's mouth. The 19th-century House of the Counts stands proudly to your right, leading you onward to the stunning Church of Santiago. This architectural gem features a Mudejar brick apse adorned with blind arches and a Romanesque tower crafted from sturdy masonry.
Well worth a visit. Mediaeval town full of wonderful nooks and crannies with a fascinating range of houses and buildings in the old town, in varying degrees of repair The newer part of the town has some more modern but no less striking buildings. The views are extensive and splendid . Its popularity with the Madrid polulace is reflected in the restuarant prices. Not somewhere to go to eat if you are on a tight budget. Apart from the town itself the drive to it is through wonderful scenery and, in May at least, the roadsare empty and a joy to drive .

Nestled just outside the walls of the charming village, Castillo de Fernan González stands as a historical gem. This castle is located near one of the lesser-known corners of Plaza Mayor, where visitors can admire its impressive structure alongside an 18th-century building that features a lovely balcony. This balcony not only offers stunning views but also serves as a venue for cultural exhibitions and marks the festive start of local bullfighting celebrations with its traditional Chupinazo.

Casa del Moro o Casa de los Proaño, also known as the Proano house, is a remarkable 16th-century palatial home in Sepulveda. The building houses family coats of arms with repeated motifs of the Muslim's head.

Of its three floors, the lower and upper floors were always intended for use as a prison (until the 20th century), while the middle floor is the one that has experienced the most modifications and uses. It was the Council House until a new town hall was built on the other side of the square in 1870, and then it became the home of the head of the prison until its final closure. Later, it was renovated to carry out cultural activities. (Translated by Google) This Segovian town, which was repopulated in the last quarter of the 11th century and belonged to the Community of Villa y Tierra de Sepúlveda, preserves one of the best examples of the Romanesque portico in the province. This church dedicated to Saint Peter in Chains was built between the 12th and 13th centuries, with a single nave and semicircular apse. To the north is the tower, with two bodies separated by an impost, and simple construction. The general construction is of plastered masonry with ashlar reinforcements in the corners. Its exterior, with balanced volumetry, shows through the floor plan. A magnificent portico, made of limestone ashlar, runs along the south and west facades. It stands on a plinth, where the paired columns rest on richly carved historic capitals on which the semicircular arches rest. To the south is the main entrance, through a bent semicircular arch, decorated with palmettes in the voussoirs and a geometric border on the external thread. Model that is repeated at the entrance door to the temple. To the west is the so-called 'gate of the feet', today walled up, with voussoirs decorated in a zigzag pattern. The apse, on the outside, has a splayed semicircular opening, with columns with historic capitals. It is finished with a cornice of checkered corbels, which support a conical roof.

The most notable thing about the church is the porticoed gallery. It is striking that the portico factory uses a better construction technique and material - perfectly cut and squared ashlar - than the humble masonry temple. The magnificent care of some capitals that represent acanthus leaves is striking. There are also sculpted figurative baskets with zoomorphic themes such as pairs of lions and birds. Its portico, arches, columns and capitals with plant, animal and even human details are very well preserved. Look for Pedro El Rubio with his beard on the capitals. It is the Romanesque Church of Perorrubio and Tanarro in the province of Segovia. From there you can go hiking, cycling... along its numerous Castilian paths. Eight kilometers away is the Villa de Sepúlveda, the Hoces del Duratón. In that same direction you can visit the Romanesque Church of Duratón, the Visigoth tombs and the Roman city of Confluentia. Castilnovo Castle is next door. A great plan!! (Translated by Google) Trail conditioned for all audiences, suitable for wheelchairs. It is a pleasant walk along a simple and level route, about 750 meters long, with wide views over the beautiful valley of the Caslilla River, a tributary of the Duratón; From there you can see the landscape of limestone rock formations in the high areas, and vegetation on the banks of the river, and it is easy to observe the flight of vultures.
