Specialty Museums
Paléospace, located in the tranquil Villers-sur-Mer on the Flower Coast, is a modern museum that showcases numerous fossils found at the nearby Les Vaches Noires cliffs, some dating back 160 million years. The museum features impressive dinosaur skeletons from the Jurassic period and offers a planetarium experience. Visitors can explore fossil collections and learn about prehistoric treasures through interactive exhibits. The museum provides an informative audio guide via tablet for visitors to delve into the world of paleontology.
We really enjoyed it! The space seems small, but the museum is divided into diverse sections and full of interesting information (about space, dinosaurs, fossils, etc). The setting is incredible and I would’ve liked to spend more time exploring the swamp and trails just outside; it’s nice that the museum integrates that into their exhibit. There are a lot of interactive features for children. Older children can borrow tablets to participate in a lot of educational activities. Our son is too little for this, but he enjoyed touching the models of fossils and dinosaurs that can be found throughout the museum, at the appropriate level for the smallest guests 😊 We’ll definitely come back when he is older and he can appreciate the museum and natural park even more!

A nice pavilion housing fossils and bones. A smart long arrangement with some interesting rooms. However all in all it’s a modest sized place and will take about 30mins or so to walk round. In a lovely parkland setting, with a cafe and rent a bikes nearby.
Sean R — Google review
Interesting but not at that price at all considering the size and number of exhibits. Plus, looks like most of the investment was done in souvenirs part but…at least one was very funny for me. Look like the one from internet memes about shinkflation.
Alexandr D — Google review
This is a lovely little museum, very informative and beautiful dinosaurs. I loved how many specimens were found by amateurs, I loved the horseshoe crab and its journey and the big stegosaurus outside! The shop offers a wide variety of things for all ages. The layout was a bit confusing as the entrance and shop are in the middle of the building with exhibits on the left and right side.
Sophie B — Google review
Small but informative. Younger children would like it most but my two are into this sort of thing and both enjoyed it.
Allan E — Google review
A real gem of an exhibition space for anyone enthusiastic about fossils. Everything from big therapod dinosaurs to ichthyosaurs, ammonites and many marine invertebrates found locally. And a fantastic exhibit on the Greenwich Meridian with an interactive analemma. Such a great value visit for under 10 Euros for an adult.
Jeremy T — Google review
Great little find! The kids liked it, there was an English audio guide provided on a tablet and lots of interactive activities. Some of the reviews mentioned how small it was, but there was plenty on display and very informative and educational though my two are dinosaur mad. There was also a well kept marshland walk around the grounds with a playground on the way round. Well worth a visit.

We were able to admire very beautiful stained glass windows, beautiful statues and at the entrance a huge font. Unfortunately, if you want to make an offering and put a candle or a candle, there is no longer the trunk where we put the money, it was forced and looted, so the candles and candles are only available during services. (Translated by Google) Having stopped by earlier this week because we were going to spend a week in the area, I found the Villers-sur-Mer tourist office to be very comprehensive, with activities, places to visit, walks, and more. There are plenty of brochures available. We had a lovely holiday in the region; it was our first time in Normandy, but definitely not our last. Unfortunately, I was greeted by someone who didn't bother to look up from their screen to answer me. I felt like I was bothering them, which is why I'm deducting a star. I preferred to go to another receptionist who was already quite busy. 6Falaises des Vaches Noires

Falaises des Vaches Noires is a unique and picturesque location at the western end of a relaxing beach. It's a significant site for paleontology, offering various fossils at the foot of the cliffs. Visitors can enjoy long walks on the beach during low tide but should be cautious about high tide times. The area is known for its fragile cliffs, so it's important to respect them and not climb onto or from above them.
Very special place and particular to have so many fossils which you can just pick up. Only have to know that if you need to park somewhere Google Maps guides you first to a camping in which of course you can't really just park. A 'free parking' is in a residential area and then it's a walk through bushes and trees (small forest). But eventually you get there. Perhaps it's easier to go to Villers-sur-Mer to park and walk from there to the beach.
Ryan B — Google review
Great fun. We were camping close by so visited a few times and each visit yielded fossil finds... mainly shells & molluscs, but this beach is littered with them! Great fun with kids. Just be careful of precarious cliffs and check the tide times as the tide comes in fast.
Cat J — Google review
Didn't live up to the expectations, but it was still interesting for a while. Go during low tide, and walk along the beach from villa de sur until you reach the cliffs. Digs are allowed, just not on/under the cliffs themselves. Take enough water, it gets hot!
Anna M — Google review
Lovely place to hunt for fossils. We had a great time with the family, lots of great finds. Short stroll from the parking place in Villers-sur-Mer. Check the tide schedule in advance and arrive low tide.
Tamas D — Google review
Not accessible from the google maps directions - this route is closed to pedestrians. Think the only access is by walking across the beach at low tide. Didn’t fancy this!

My reduced rating is because of the Blonville part of the site. Above all, stay in Villers and don't go through Blonville, it ruins the day! (Original) Un lieu exceptionnel du côté Villers sur mer. Les Vapeurs is an iconic restaurant in Trouville, with its red and orange facade that has welcomed visitors for decades. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, including fish and seafood, grilled lobster, Provençal sea bream, salads, cream mussels, and many other delicious dishes.
We just arrived from Istanbul and came to have dinner here. We accidentally came here instead of another restaurant that we wanted. The service was excellent, they knew we didn’t speak French so they gave us English menus with out asking. The food was great we had seafood. Must try if in the area.

Les Vapeurs is a timeless gem that has been serving the freshest seafood since 1927. This classic establishment is renowned for its oysters, which are among the freshest you'll find anywhere. Their seafood towers are a feast for the senses, offering a stunning array of delicacies from the sea, all presented beautifully. The grilled fish is perfectly cooked, maintaining a delicate balance of flavors that highlight the freshness of the ingredients. However, the real standout for me were the mussels—spectacularly tender and flavorful, though they come without the traditional side of French fries, which might be a minor disappointment for those expecting the classic "moules-frites" experience. Overall, Les Vapeurs offers a superb seafood dining experience with a rich history and an enduring commitment to quality. If you're a seafood lover, this place is a must-visit.

Deauville shop owners have all recommended me to eat here! LEGENDARY !!!
Théo W — Google review
This restaurant came up first in my search for a lunch place, and had 4 and 1/2 stars, with a lot of reviews which was very promising. But also set up the expectations really high. I did only order a salade nicoise, and my companion ordered oysters and a tomato salad, so the sample is not very significant. However, there are a few take aways: the products were fresh, and the mozzarella was excellent for the salad. My salade nicoise was not too good. The greens were wonderful, and were topped with potatoes, very scarce olives, one egg, some string beans, and tuna. The tuna was the most disappointing part since it was crumbs, and did not look or taste like quality. Then we had coffee, and I did not like it at all (which is rare: in France coffee is usually excellent). All in all, it was an OK experience, but definitely not a place where I would go back to. The price was about $40 per person, with only one alcoholic drink (beer). No dessert.

Food is ok but a bit above market price. However the head waiter at the front is awful. Take customers for idiots and she is arrogant. I don’t know her name but she had short hair with glasses. I was asking if she had a table for 2 + a stroller and she immediately said no while the person next to her mentioned he can give us a table upstair but mention there are stairs. So I asked how many stairs and the woman just shouted at me saying “ yes it’s a stairs so there are stairs” as if I was an idiot. Not the best way to talk to customers who want to spend money at your place and basically pay for your salary. The waiters inside were very nice.

We live and work in the Netherlands and we are free to travel where ever we want in Europe without passport. But guess what? This is the only place where you can’t enter with your Dutch resident permit. However, they accept Dutch driver’s license. When you ask the logic behind, the difference between Dutch ID and Dutch Driver’s Licence the manager says “eh ben oui le policee”. I find it really racist and dissappointing. And believe me, the one in Trouville has waay better ambiance.
Merve Y — Google review

Unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. Despite having valid Dutch residency cards, we were denied entry without any proper explanation. Our residency permits grant us the right to travel freely within the EU, yet the staff insisted on seeing only a passport. This made us feel discriminated against, as there was no logical reason for the refusal. It’s truly upsetting to be treated this way in a place that is supposed to welcome visitors. Experiencing such behavior in a city like Deauville was a real letdown

CIRO'S, situated next to the renowned Le Bar du Soleil and its famous terrace in Deauville since 1959, is among the city's most well-known restaurants. With its beachfront picture windows, this establishment was originally designed for tourism but has been transformed into a gastronomic brasserie by Groupe Lucien Barrière.
Very good pasta and wine. The only discomfort is that in order to access the toilet you must stay in line and wait for your turn. Quite pricey too.

We only stopped by for a drink and coffee, but the experience was great! The staff was super friendly and handled everything smoothly—they even moved us from the high table to the puffs without any hassle, making us feel very comfortable. Our order arrived in less than 7 minutes, which was impressive given how busy the place was. One thing to keep in mind—the gulls can be a bit of a nuisance, especially for those who ordered crêpes or food. That said, the waitress handled it very kindly by replacing the affected dishes without any fuss. Overall, it’s a great spot to relax by the beach with good service and a lovely atmosphere. I’d definitely recommend it for a casual stop!

The very best surprise of our Deauville Summer! Finally a menu that we always wished to have on the beach. Everything is delicous , the salads , the pasta, the mains dishes and even the desserts are perfect!!! There is kids menu and my children were enchanted by the good quality of products. The villa sits atop a small hillside overlooking the sea and was once surrounded by marshes. Visitors can explore this historic site and admire its elegant architecture.
A step into Belle Époque elegance. As an architect, I loved the symmetry, the materials, the quiet grandeur.

Beach
Plage de Deauville is a long, urban sandy beach adorned with colorful parasols, beach huts, bars, and boardwalks. Despite the windy and cool weather in May, the place offers a magnificent visual experience with breathtaking beach umbrellas and dressing rooms named after star visitors. Visitors can also explore the nearby casino and hotels. The wide expanse of the beach provides ample space for relaxation while enjoying refreshments from nearby restaurants or bringing your own food to enjoy by the shore.
Lovely beach, went last summer, it gets huge at low tide so never too busy as well

I like it. It's so wide and the sea is always refresh you. But if you don't have your personal cabins to change your clothes, your have to do it just in front of many people who can watching you.. or go directly to the toilet. 1€ and you safe

It was a windy, cool day in May. Not really my kind of beach weather. But the place is magnificent, a visual and cinematic feast. The beach umbrellas are breathtaking. The dressing rooms, some named after star visitors, and the nearby casino and hotels are well worth a visit. To enrich your visit be familiar with Bob le flambeur and A Man and A Woman. An excellent place to spend a day, no matter the weather.

Stayed here during our 80th anniversary of D-Day trip to Normandy, led by International Tour Co. Absolutely beautiful hotel & grounds. Our room was spacious enough for our four- night stay, with a beautiful view of the countryside & villages along the mouth of the Seine. It was wonderful to fall into a sumptuous bed after a hard day of touring the beaches. They did a great job of feeding the hundreds of visitors (5 coaches!) this week. A bit of a drive to get to the beaches though - 1-1/2 hour each way. I’d like to come back just to play golf here!

Le Spinnaker is a must-visit for those seeking an elegant blend of traditional French cuisine with modern flair. Situated near the waterfront, the restaurant offers stunning views from its terrace while serving up sophisticated and inventive dishes. Guests praise the friendly and English-speaking staff, delicious food, and top-notch service. The restaurant's small size makes reservations essential for those looking to enjoy its great food and kind, professional service.
Restaurant is great! Very friendly staff. They speak fluent English and the food was delicious. By far the best experience in Deauville.
Fernanda F — Google review
I haven't walked out of many restaurants but can now add this to the list of disgraced establishments. The 38 euro set menu seemed to be decent value so we ordered a nice bottle of 52 euros bordeaux red. Alarm bells started to ring when this arrived chilled out of a fridge. I then looked the wine up online and it sold for 4 euros retail! Wine mark up is fine but this was extraordinary. 52 euros for a bottle of wine out of a fridge and that they're making 48 euros on. I was disgruntled by this point but could just about see the funny side. When my starter arrived that had obviously been prepared hours, if not days ago, it was time to leave. I very generously slapped 50 euros down for the starters, water and a bit of extortionate wine and walked out. The waitress was lovely but the front of house waiter was surly and miserable. I suspect this place is under new ownership post lockdown and is taking the mickey out of tourists while it still can. Avoid like Covid-19.

So disappointed with this restaurant. The owner was nice but the food (particularly the Saint Jacques scallops) were ok at best. I would choose somewhere else if in Deauville! Way too expensive for the quality of the food.

(Translated by Google) The events that Le Cid hosts are of quality. However, the rules decreed and imposed by the management of Le Cid, notably during the Deauville American film festival, such as prohibiting access to the benches to people with reduced mobility during the waiting phases between two films is not only morally doubtful but more dangerous. (The spirit of inclusion of the Paralympic Games apparently quickly faded). What about the ban on being able to bring your own food and having everything thrown away at the entrance while the surrounding restaurants are regularly closed during the festival? Finally, something could be planned to protect festival-goers from the sun or (heavy) rain during the waiting phases.

(Translated by Google) For 3 years now, we have been organizing the Normandy Clinical Microbiology Day at the Le Cercle du CID villa in Deauville, which brings together 70 practitioners from all Normandy hospitals and the private sector. Apart from the scientific program, the success of this event is due in particular to the chosen site, the Le Cercle villa in Deauville and to the personalized organizational support of the CID. The Deauville site was identified very early because it is ideally located in the center of the Normandy road network. It is also an undeniable asset for guest speakers because of the SNCF line and the reputation of the City. Easy to access, functional and friendly, the Le Cercle villa is an ideal historic location for organizing scientific meetings of 50 to 100 people. With very generous volumes, the 3 adjacent lounges are bright and provide different spaces for conferences and exhibitors. The outdoor space allows mobility and facilitates discussions during breaks. But the “plus” of this site is the CID team which, year after year, positions itself as a proactive partner of the event. The proposed formula includes the sound system of the place and the loan of projection equipment, and the presence on site all day of a technician. The CID team organizes coffee breaks and offers several catering options adapted to the wishes of the organizers: on site or in one of the nearby restaurants, in the form of a buffet or sit-down meal. In short, on the big day, everything is ready to welcome us and talk about medicine and scientific progress in complete serenity. A big thank you to the CID team!
