The Children's Hands-On Museum in Alabama offers a dynamic learning experience for kids, with 24 interactive exhibits spread across three floors. The museum aims to stimulate children's curiosity about their community and engage them in participatory education. Visitors can explore an old-time shop, a bank, a rocket ship exhibit, outdoor animal displays, funny rooms, a farmers market, and even a fake hospital. With reasonable entrance fees and friendly staff, it's an ideal place for kids to spend hours playing and learning.
Absolutely fun for all ages, yes Mimi and pawpaw loved it too. It's wonderful to let the kids show you how they explore everything in their own way.

Nice, it's pleasant. However I rated it low due to antiques being in a children's museum geared to towards toddlers and children, this is a major health hazard for LEAD POISONING. Antiques are a health hazard for lead poisoning and other heavy metals.
Kimberly - — Google review
I went to a school field trip. It was very chaotic. When I have gone previously, there was a guide that taught the children about each exhibit. I was disappointed that they no longer do that. I like/enjoyed the exhibits. I took the time to teach my child about each one.

My daughter enjoyed it. Will return
Dee B — Google review
We love CHOM! 💙 When we first visited, my daughter was going through a really tough time and wasn’t interested in playing, talking to anyone, or even coming back. Until she met Mr. Bryan, and everything changed. His patience, kindness, and fun energy broke through her walls and gave her the confidence she needed. He has a special way of engaging kids, sparking curiosity, and helping them feel seen. Thanks to the encouragement from Mr. Bryan, Ms. Laura (we miss her!), and the rest of the amazing CHOM staff, my daughter just started school- a milestone I never thought possible. CHOM isn’t just a fun place to play- it’s a place where kids are supported, encouraged, and inspired.

We really liked the museum a lot, it's small but the children really enjoyed it, one of the girls spoke Spanish, so we thought it was super cool, the bathrooms are clean and they have a small souvenir shop when you enter.
Eduardo S — Google review
So much fun! The my kids and nephew, between ages 5-11, had a blast here. Multiple levels of things to do. The only thing to be aware of is that it's in the city and the closest parking is 2 hours, so it's something you need to be aware of to avoid being ticketed.

This places is amazing. They have so much interactive activies for the kids. We loved it so much. We are from Houston and I can say this place is worth to visit. No cafeteria. Gift shop only.

This is a very nice feature in Tuscaloosa where you can get outside, get a beautiful view of nature with a nice secure walk and enjoy the sounds of the dam. It reminded me of the ocean.

Park
Lake Lurleen State Park, located in Tuscaloosa, is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. The park offers various recreational activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, and boating around the picturesque lake. Visitors can relax on the sandy beach or explore the hiking trails that showcase the park's natural beauty. Additionally, there are opportunities for water activities with boat rentals available. The park also features camping facilities and primitive camping areas for those looking to immerse themselves in nature.
Was a great stay for us back in 2021. We bought corn for one of the groundskeepers who kept the ducks and geese fed. Small park, but was quiet and relaxing which is just what we needed.
Miranda B — Google review
Great for hiking, fishing and camping. Beautiful views of the lake. This location offers different types of boat rentals for your pleasure. Be aware that this campground will be closing as of December 1 for a 100% remodel. Expected to be closed for a year, but hopefully sooner. After these renovations, it will be five stars hands down!
Ray S — Google review
Good park for hiking or camping. You will pay a fee to enter the park. All the park employees we encountered were friendly and helpful. The trails could use more places to rest. The trails are lenghty so take plenty of water and energy snacks with you. A lot of wildlife which was a bonus.
Mike M — Google review
North east trails are closed but still plenty of trails left to enjoy. Well maintained rolling trails. Must use the temporary parking lot about .3 miles before you get to the main parking area. Trail Forks shows the location of the parking lot.
CptRon1 — Google review
This is a very nice park only about 9 miles from Tuscaloosa Alabama. It’s a great place to go hiking, mountain biking, boating and fishing. In the summer they have a nice swimming beach. We spent a beautiful day there today canoeing. The one thing that absolutely drives me nuts about the park however, is that as you drive in the entrance, the first thing you see is a line of recreational vehicles. It is so ugly! Why do they need to be parked here? If they have to rent out a place for these RVs, I wish they would do it a little bit out of sight. Otherwise, this is a very nice park, and they rent kayaks, paddle boats, and canoes. Those are very popular. The price was right. Normally it is four dollars a person, or two dollars for seniors.
Gunars C — Google review
This park is immaculate! Gorgeous setting for RV with a lot of mountain bike trails. They are marked very well too! This is a definite must stop campground.
T&B — Google review
Lake Lurleen is so beautiful and tranquil with stunning views. We were very impressed with the ease of parking our camper. Peacful place to fish. Also, it is a great place to camp if you are going to a University of Alabama game. We will definitely be back!
Michelle B — Google review
Beautiful place! The beach is very nice as well and the lake is extremely calm and relaxing. The fish weren't biting much but that didn't matter. Our two kids enjoy the state park so much they want to come back. The bathroom were okay. The staff was very helpful and eager to make our stay great. We stayed in the primitive camping area. It was one a good slope and the sites were really close to each other but only 3 of the 6 sites were used so it wasnt to bad.

Museums
The Alabama Museum of Natural History, located on the University of Alabama campus, is the oldest museum in the state. It showcases local paleontology, archaeology, geology, and natural science exhibits. Visitors can explore diverse collections featuring geology, mineralogy, history, and paleontology. The museum is housed in historic Smith Hall, an architectural gem with Beaux-Arts design.
We visited the museum during a walk around campus. We wanted to see the Sylacauga meteorite. The admission fee is only $5 and well worth the price.
Kim A — Google review
The building itself is beautifully kept & overall absolutely amazingly gorgeous! There were some interesting facts & artifacts to look at. But, I will say there is so much more space that isn't being utilized that absolutely could be & would make this museum more attractive.
Krystal B — Google review
Very enjoyable and quite a few items to see. Well worth the money and time spent. Small gift shop that offers interesting earrings, shark tooth necklaces as well as meteorite necklaces. Took us maybe 30 minutes to see everything but worth the $5 admission - HIGHLY RECOMMEND going to the 3rd floor for the bee hive/exhibit -- it allows outside bees into their process and quite and amazing thing to see!
Sarah O — Google review
We really enjoyed their mystery night event, but it did feel a bit drawn out. I think the appeal is much more for little kids during the event, but we appreciated free entry for the night. The exhibits we could see around the booths were very interesting. I wish the museum was open on weekends that the university hosts football games as not everyone prefers sports for entertainment, but the limited parking nearby makes sense as to why they close. This was our second attempt to see the museum due to them closing the previous weekend for the game, which did not reflect on Google maps hours. Overall, it is a small museum, yet it fulfills the niche due to limited local options for NE Mississippi and NW Alabama.
Sidney A — Google review
Amazing spot to explore for anyone interested in science, especially (aside from the obvious: fossils) anything to do with bees, geology, or crustaceans. The sensory room here is also a delight! The space is primarily designed for children but it was still a nice dim place to decompress for a moment.
Mercy P — Google review
This is a pretty neat gem on the UA campus! When I went I was the only visitor there, so it was very peaceful! The building itself is stunning, and there are a lot of neat bones and gems 💎 on display. The museum isn’t huge, but it’s definitely worth a visit. It’s also free for UA students - just show your ID!
Victoria O — Google review
The museum has only 5 visitor parking spots, all of which were taken. I drove around for 20 minutes but all I could find were spots reserved for students, faculty, staff, state vehicles, gas shutoff vehicles (?) but no nearby visitor parking spots. With no place to park, I finally left without being able to visit the museum. Judging from other comments, I'm not the only one to leave due to not being able to find a place to park. Quite disappointing.
Jonathan H — Google review
The Alabama Museum of Natural History, located in Smith Hall on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa, offers a captivating journey through the state’s rich geological and biological heritage. Established in 1831, it stands as Alabama’s oldest museum and serves as a testament to the state’s natural diversity . Upon entering the museum, visitors are greeted by the Grand Gallery, an architectural marvel featuring Corinthian columns and a vaulted skylight. This space houses impressive exhibits, including a replica of Basilosaurus cetoides, Alabama’s state fossil . The museum’s collections span various eras, from the Age of Dinosaurs to the Ice Age, showcasing fossils, minerals, and artifacts that highlight Alabama’s natural history

Lake Tuscaloosa, located in the heart of Tuscaloosa, is a stunning water-supply reservoir on the North River. Covering an expansive area of 5,885 acres with 177 miles of shoreline, it offers ample space for various recreational activities such as boating, fishing, and swimming. The lake has become a popular spot for fishing enthusiasts and even hosts a Bassmaster tournament.
My favorite spot in Tuscaloosa! Besides bryant Denny stadium. I spend every single day almost in that lake and love to find all the creeks that flow into it.
Kristen A — Google review
Google Maps had this one all wrong. Apparently, all of the subdivisions encircling the lake have private residence only access that the general public can not use, thr main entrance that Google directs you to use even has a sign posted stating 'Google was wrong. Private drive.' After Google suggested this spot & driving an hour, my family & I spent nearly 2 hours trying to find a public access point without any success. The attached photos are taken from the road just past the 1st private drive subdivision, residence only, non-public entrance.

Lake Tuscaloosa is a gem in West Alabama. The water is clean and the surrounds are lovely anytime of the year. I live on the lake but we enjoy the Tuscaloosa Sailing Club throughout the year. TSC offers sailing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, camping, ⛵ racing, and socials. The camaraderie of the membership is second only to the beauty of Lake Tuscaloosa.
Bette H — Google review
I've lived in Tuscaloosa most of my life and been on the lake quite a bit. We recently moved to a waterfront property and I have to say, I now absolutely love the lake. I go out on it almost daily. Lots to see and explore.
Wkbmarine — Google review
Good lake if you're wanting to catch numbers of Alabama bass, decent crappie fishery as well. Bigger bass are fewer and further between. Find us on Youtube @ Bream Bass & Beyond for videos from Lake T as well as other area lakes!

Beautiful lake and a great place to take the grandkids fishing. When we went in the summer of 2017 we caught lots of small perch from the boat launch pier near the main entrance boat launch. Small pieces of chicken gizzards and worms worked for us.

Really nice exhibits taking you through Alabama football history. $5 to get in, and you can see it all in an hour or less ... depending on how much you read, of course. Great way to start game day!
Stephen M — Google review
I love this place. So much of it is memorable and the rest is interesting to read and see. The video and audio interaction is great. It's always on the do list each visit.
Jeremy K — Google review
University of Alabama football is a sports institution, and it has been made that way through a long tradition of winning that continues to this day. The man responsible for the school’s stellar reputation for winning is Paul Bryant. His years with the team, and the years of others who have coached the Crimson Tide for more than 130 years are on display at the Paul Bryant Museum. I visited the Paul Bryant Museum while attending parent orientation for incoming freshman. I was fully aware of Bryant and his tremendous success on the field, but I knew only a little bit about the specifics of his time at Alabama and the years before he became head coach at this school. A visit to the Paul Bryant Museum was exactly what I needed to educate myself on University of Alabama football and how it has shaped and influenced college football. This museum, while it is named after Paul Bryant and focuses on Paul Bryant, is really about the Alabama football team’s history as a whole. It steps you through the years of Bama football, starting way back in the 1800’s and continuing to the present day. The exhibits have much to read and learn and there are several noteworthy videos worth watching, to help you not just see but also hear about the people who played and coached at Alabama and helped make it the college football powerhouse that it is today. I learned much from visiting the Paul Bryant Museum, not just about Bryant, but also about other coaches and players. Although I am fully aware of Paul Bryant’s legacy, record number of college wins, etc, I’m not well- versed on Alabama football overall. I did not even know, for example, that NFL quarterback Ken Stabler played at Alabama under coach Bryant. I didn’t know about the event that earned Bryant his nickname, Bear. I learned all these things and more during my visit and I exited the doors with a significant increase in my Alabama football IQ. Alabama football has a fascinating past and the Paul Bryant Museum helps bring the memories back to life. Alabama football fans are certain to feel goosebumps as they tour this museum, but everyone who visits, even those with a marginal interest in the game, will come away feeling satisfied. It isn’t a very large museum and it can be visited in less than an hour. I wish it was bigger, and I would have liked to see even more exhibits, but this is still a good place to visit if you want to improve your knowledge of Alabama football and learn more about the people responsible for its rise to fame.

What an awesome place! If you love Alabama football and it's history, this is the place for you! Staff is nice, admission is cheap ($5 for adults) and we were able to take our time and enjoy the experience. Photos, articles, videos, and artifacts from the very beginning up until today, the life of the Alabama football program. The gift shop even had tiny red plastic elephants I plan to leave hidden all over my brother's house to remind him who is the best! (Sadly, he is a TN fan...😞)

Northport is a little hidden (somewhat) gem next to its bigger sister, Tuscaloosa, and in that hidden gem in the delightful old part of Northport, Kentuck is a real treasure. The University of Alabama, established in 1831, is a renowned research institution with a picturesque campus featuring historic buildings and a natural history museum. The campus is dotted with iconic spots like The Quad, Presidents Mansion, Bryant-Denny Stadium, and Denny Chimes, making it an ideal destination for photography enthusiasts. Nearby attractions include the lively downtown district and the largest outdoor theater in West Alabama, offering arts and entertainment.
Beautiful campus. Grounds and buildings well maintained. We went into several different halls and such. Very nice spaces. While I wish we had caught his name, a professor from the Engineering school stopped by our table at the Furg - realizing we were there for student orientation, he asked if we had any questions. He sure didn't have to, but really impressed me that he thought to spend a few minutes with us.

Nicki J — Google review
Ah yes, the University of Alabama—that other school in the South where houndstooth and haphazard tailgating reign supreme, and where the library, I hear, is open most days. I had the distinct experience of visiting the campus once, though admittedly not for academic collaboration—more out of morbid curiosity and a friend’s ill-advised wedding. The campus is… fine. Expansive, certainly. Brick buildings that aspire to grandeur but somehow feel like they were designed by a committee of booster club donors. The quad is pleasant enough if one doesn’t mind the ever-present undercurrent of grill smoke and frat rock echoing from all directions. Academically, well—how to put this gently? The institution does try. I’m told they’ve made great strides in "business" and “communications,” which I suppose are respectable pursuits for those who find critical thought a touch exhausting. The honors college appears earnest, though one can only hang so many banners proclaiming “rising excellence” before one begins to wonder if the elevator ever reaches the top floor. Now, the students… bless them. Spirited, certainly. Proud to the point of delusion. One must admire their unwavering confidence—particularly those draped in crimson and white who treat SEC football victories as intellectual validation. I did attempt a conversation about Faulkner once with a young man in a “Roll Tide” tank top. It did not go well. As for the faculty, I’m sure there are pockets of brilliance hiding in the humanities department—or at least in whatever is left of it after the latest budget cut to make way for a new athletic facility. In conclusion, the University of Alabama is, I suppose, a suitable option for those who value tradition, spirited camaraderie, and the occasional economics lecture between football games. If one is seeking rigorous intellectual debate, a well-funded research environment, and classmates who can name more than one modernist author—well, Nashville might have been a wiser choice. But to each their own.

Absolutely appalled by the history tied to this institution. What happened with the syphilis experiments conducted in Alabama was one of the most inhumane, unethical acts ever done under the name of “research.” Human lives were treated as disposable, and the suffering of innocent people was ignored for decades. It’s shameful that such a tragedy was ever associated with a place of learning. A university should stand for truth, compassion, and ethics — not exploitation. The fact that this even happened is horrifying. Institutions involved in such acts should have been held fully accountable and permanently shut down.

There is such a rich history here, this is such a beautiful campus. The food is amazing, they also have different varieties for everybody. I have absolutely fallen in LOVE with UA! Nothing feels better than feeling loved the minute you walk onto a campus. As always Roll Tide!

The Jemison-Van De Graaff Mansion, built in 1859 by Robert Jemison, Jr., is a stunning two-story Greek Revival-style home located on the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa. The mansion features a central hall and four spacious rooms on each floor. Renovated and restored to its former glory, it offers visitors a glimpse into the past.
Unfortunately it wasn't open when we were in town, but it's beautiful, and we look forward to making a trip back, and scheduling a tour soon.

Very disappointing that a large group of people, including international visitors from China, were at the house at 3:15 on Saturday and waited past 3:30 but no one came to open the house for the tour. If the tour guide is going to be late, somehow that needs to be communicated. DO NOT TRUST THE HOURS ON GOOGLE. There is only one tour a day at 3:30 PM Central and even that is iffy. Do not recommend this attraction!

I was in town for a few days for work. I decided to stop by, but they were closed. I walked around the outside of the property and got to see the beautiful architecture and the grounds. I looked online and didn't see any hours posted, so I went back a few days later, the parking lot was empty, closed. I'm sure it's a great tour and I probably just missed the hours somewhere. The building itself is beautiful.

Bryant-Denny Stadium is the home stadium of the Crimson Tide football team at the University of Alabama. It is a well-maintained and impressive stadium that receives ample funding from alumni donations. Fans can be passionate and vocal but this is typical of any home team crowd. The atmosphere in the stadium is enjoyable, especially when watching the Million Dollar Band perform from great seats even in high up areas.
Had a great time watching Alabama beat Auburn. Great seats and view. Bring an empty water bottle so you dont have to pay 4 or 5 dollars for water. French fries are 12 dollars so you are way better off wearing before you hit the stands.
KC P — Google review
This is a fairly nice stadium overall. It is very large and very high, and they let the visitors know that. There was ample room to walk down the aisle in front of other seated patrons. The food selection was okay, but I have seen broader selections at some stadiums. There was no souvenir cups which is quite surprising and disappointing. This is not the end of the season (that is, should not have run out of cups), and we are collecting cups from other SEC stadiums. On this day, the wrong team won, but we'd like to come back in a few years.

We had a great experience here, very well run! The shuttles ran efficiently, plenty of bathrooms and very walkable tail gate areas. The staff was friendly and helpful. Easy to get in and out of the stadium, plenty of signs!

Field was very clean and simple to get around. Before I state this...I have to say that I am not an Auburn Fan or an Alabama Fan. The Fan base was obnoxious. Very rude to opposing team and treated me as a. Visitor with utter disrespect. I will not go back to this stadium again for a foot all game. And I am sure it wont matter to an Alabama Fan because the fanbase dont care about any other visitors except themselves.

Huge and labeled well for locating your seat. The flow of folks leaving was nice and not hard to leave. Ramps, restrooms and stadium were nice. The new seats are the worst. We came to shows before and never had problems but be prepared to bring something if you have back problems.

Farmers Markets
Tuscaloosa River Market is a local gem located beside the Black Warrior River, offering a variety of goods from local farmers and artisans. This long-standing tradition hosts the Tuscaloosa Farmers Market every Saturday, showcasing fresh produce, flowers, and more. The market also serves as an event space and features handmade crafts alongside locally sourced fruits, vegetables, meats, and baked goods. Visitors can enjoy the scenic location while supporting the community through their purchases.
I’m here for a work conference awards night and this is a very nice venue for this event. Large and roomy, lovely 💐view over the river. Convenient location with two entrances and exits. The parking is a little tight but workable. There is a biking/walking path between the building and the river… if it’s a long event, it’s the opportunity to take a walk. And it’s very scenic for picture taking.

We went for the Dwarfinator Wrestling experience. Easy parking. Bathroom facilities were kind of hard to access with the way the event was laid out. But that problem. Was dwarfed by the magnitude of the event I witnessed.

The Tuscaloosa River Market is more than a place—it’s a rhythm. A breath of fresh air along the Black Warrior River where Saturdays begin with intention and end with connection. From local honey and heirloom tomatoes to handmade soaps and wildflower bouquets, each vendor brings a piece of Alabama soil, soul, and story. I’ve walked these aisles with my son, coffee in hand, sunlight dancing off the water—grateful for the pause, the pace, the presence this space offers. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, neighbors greet one another, and your senses remember what real feels like. A sanctuary of slowness in a world that rushes. A rooted space. A reflective joy. We’ll be back, again and again.

The park is a decent size, and very clean. There are covered bench tables to sit at. There is also a little gravel trail that goes around the park that you can walk. THEY SHOULD NOT SCHEDULE OPEN HOURS WHEN GUIDES OFFEN DO NOT SHOW UP. better to be open 2 days a week and show up 100% of the time, than to be open 5 days a week and show up 40% of the time. Very rude situation for visitors.
Soylent G — Google review
It's a beautiful old house from the outside but even though the website said they were open, and when I called I was told they would be open at the regular time (2:30 pm), when we got there about 2:40, they were closed. I called & was then told that they were closed because of an event at the Jemison-Van de Graff mansion which meant it was also closed. So, all I can give it is 1 star because the website calendar should be updated to show when they're closed for special events & when you call the day you're planning to go, they should be able to tell you whether they're open or not.
Robyn M — Google review
Beautiful 150 year old home full of period furniture & decor but nothing can be touched inside or moved out for events. Area are roped off to preserve the homes and antiques. Your main serving table is in a cheerful yellow room with red vases on the mantle that has to stay. I choose flowers to compliment the room with yellow and rose colors customers loved them!

Absolutely beautiful historic home. We took a tour of the home and grounds, and it was just breath taking. The sweet lady who gave us our tour shared so much history with us. It was great. We’ve been to a wedding here as well. So pretty.

Wheelchair Accessibility is minimal. You can get in the building but there is an upstairs area and even a portion of the main meeting area that is not accessible. The bathroom is not wheelchair accessible either. I wouldn't recommend it as a meeting place if a person with a disability will be attending. People who use chairs do go to parties, bridal and baby showers too. I was disappointed with the venue for the shower that I paid a rather large sum of money to help host. It was the location that the bride requested but never again!!!

Barbecue restaurant
Dreamland BBQ is a local chain known for its hickory-fired ribs, plates, sandwiches, wings, and comfort sides. The original location was opened in Tuscaloosa in 1958 by John Big Daddy Bishop and has since become a popular spot for locals and visitors. While the original menu included burgers and BBQ, it now focuses solely on ribs, fixins, and desserts. The restaurant's atmosphere at the original location in Jerusalem Heights adds to its charm.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ An Old-School BBQ Pilgrimage Worth Every Bite Nestled in a sleepy hollow outside Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the Original Dreamland Bar-B-Que is the kind of place that turns a road trip into a rite of passage. A friend messaged me when he saw I was headed toward Louisiana: "If you're going through Tuscaloosa Ala-bam, you HAVE to stop at Dreamland BBQ. Until a few years ago, the only thing on the menu was ribs." From the outside, it looks like your classic hole-in-the-wall joint—but the second you walk through the door, you're transported to another era. The smell of hickory wood smoke greets you like an old friend. This place isn’t just BBQ—it’s history, tradition, and soul, all wrapped up in one unforgettable bite. I always trust the staff’s recommendation, so I went with the half chicken. Let me tell you—it was a religious culinary experience. Smoky, flavorful, and perfectly moist. I’ve eaten a lot of BBQ in my time, but this was next-level. Of course, I couldn’t just stop there. I left with a cooler full of goodies: •A full slab of ribs (because it’s Dreamland—you have to) •Another half chicken •Their Legendary BBQ sandwich •And both kinds of dessert: the banana pudding and the chocolate dream The sweet tea—Big Daddy’s Iced Tea—was the perfect Southern pairing. Everything was authentic, soulful, and utterly delicious. The vibe? Pure Americana. The kind of place where the story is as rich as the sauce. And that sauce? A vinegar-based masterpiece with just the right kick. Don’t leave without buying a jar to take home. Dreamland says it best: “Ain’t nothing like ’em nowhere.” I couldn’t agree more.
Marlene P — Google review
The original Dreamland BBQ in Tuscaloosa was a great experience. The building is not large. However, the day we visited, there were plenty of seats. I would assume that during football season, there could be a wait for a table. The ribs were awesome, and the sauce had a slight kick that was perfect. The loaf bread and extra sauce were the perfect accompaniment. I got the half rack of ribs, and it was a lot of food. The banana pudding was also great.
Michael S — Google review
This place is BUSY. If you want service, make sure you approach one of the servers, as they are constantly moving between tables, serving, cleaning tables, closing out tabs, etc. They were fast with taking my order and closing out my tab, but depending on patrons, it can take a while. It took about 15-20 minutes to get our order. We ordered the legendary bbq pork (chopped) sandwiches and quarter slab pork ribs. And oh boy, now I know why this bbq restaurant was packed! I think I ate the pork sandwich in less than 4 bites, so get the large sandwich!! Best pork ribs I’ve ever had - and the sauce is amazing(vinegar based, not sweet). The baked beans and potato salad were also very good.

THIS place epitomizes southern barbecue. A little grimy, loud, sports and great food. You sit and they bring the sauce and bread. Tables have paper towel rolls and you will need them. We got half a slab, half a chicken, Mac & Cheese (capitalized bc it’s so good), cole slaw, and baked beans. Mrs Beautiful thought the beans were so good she compared them to her mom’s - instantly earning a five star review. I liked the chicken best. So well seasoned and smoked that the meat was permeated with amazing flavor. We ended with puddings - banana and chocolate. Both were 5 stars. You only need a little because they are so rich (& you’ve already stuffed yourself with too much meat). We even ordered an extra pint of mac & cheese to go - jr liked it that much.

Delicious bbq and quick service with a smile. We got there early on a Sunday and had no problem getting a table. Our ribs were on our table less than 5 minutes after ordering and man were they good! Smokey and sweet and that sauce was tangy! Loved the atmosphere and will be back!

Here from Florida for an Alabama game and was told this place has the best RIBS ever! DK E was absolutely amazing Hometown feel and delicious food! Must try!

Sauce is yumm. Put it on anything. Slaw was rough cut. Banana pudding better than the chocolate pudding. Like I am at a church social.

"Ain't nothing like 'em nowhere." The original. I plan cross country road trips so I just happen to be in Tuscaloosa around meal times so I can go here. These ribs are always perfect. The sauce is the best rib sauce I have ever had. It just compliments the tender meat. Other locations that they have opened have a more expanded BBQ menu, but the original focuses on the ribs. And they DO. NOT. MISS. My go-to side is their potato salad. Pour a little BBQ sauce in the cup and it is heaven in your mouth. I always get a jar of sauce to bring home, I know I can't replicate the perfection of their ribs, but I can make mine raise up several notches with their rub and sauce. I always post pictures on my socials and smile as all my friends that KNOW get jealous. Just go there. That's all you gotta do.

Seafood restaurant
Chucks Fish is a trendy restaurant that offers a diverse menu featuring seafood, sushi, and pizza alongside a full bar. The establishment holds significance as it is named after the late Charles Chuck Morgan II, who was not particularly known for fishing but once caught a 30-pound king mackerel in a tournament with his friend Julian Bond. This notable catch became known as Chucks Fish.
This place has so many delicious looking options that it was hard to decide. We finally ask for our server's opinion, and I ended up with the shrimp and chorizo fettuccine. It was delicious. The Alfredo sauce was not overly heavy and the shrimp were perfectly cooked.
Elyse O — Google review
We recently dined at Chuck restaurant and left extremely disappointed, especially considering the steep prices. The atmosphere was overwhelmingly loud due to the excessive echo, making it necessary to almost shout to have a conversation. We started with the stuffed shrimp, which was excellent, but the ahi tuna was a major letdown. It was overly spicy, masking any flavor of the tuna, and the vegetables that accompanied it had a strange smell and taste. We waited 45 minutes to be seated and another 30 minutes for our food. To top it off, the sushi we ordered didn't arrive until after we had finished our meal and dessert. The final bill for two, without drinks and excluding the sushi, came to over $110. Overall, the service and food did not justify the cost, and we won't be returning.
Luzanda P — Google review
As a fish connoisseur I tried both menus, the sushi was outstanding . The catch of the day I waited for quite some time but it came out cold. Overall good experience, had to sit at the bar as it was so busy.

Visited on a Friday when football game was away. Arrived around 5:30 pm. Parking about 3 to 4 blocks away. Once inside, seated quickly with immediate service. Spring roll appetizer was excellent. Blackened mahi mahi with an ettoufe was excellent and made me feel like I was back in New Orleans. My buddy had the seared Tuna , which was excellent also. Will definitely visit again on my next trip through Tuscaloosa.
Charles P — Google review
The New York strip steak was wonderful, probably the best one in Tuscaloosa. Focaccia bread as an appetizer was great but could’ve been a little less greasy. The white chocolate bread pudding was below average. Little to no flavor, unfortunately same with the sundae that came with it (but was initially missing when I received the order). Interestingly enough my table ordered this dessert three times and everyone got a different sauce on it. One got caramel, the other strawberry, and the last one chocolate (which was the sauce advertised on the menu). Sauce was also lacking flavor. Would come back for entree and appetizers. However, the state of the facilities is almost unacceptable for this price range. Dining room looked good, but the private room upstairs was old, small, and not well maintained. Having more than a handful of people in it made it impossible to have conversations as the noise has no where to go as the ceiling was not very high. Overall, the room looked more than a closet space than a fancy private room for an upscale dining experience. Even worse, the men’s restroom was unacceptable. The soap dispenser is hanging on to dear life and almost fell into my hands when I tried to use it and water from the faucet in the sink is spraying out uncontrollably. Generally, the restroom wasn’t clean at all. Servers were great. Needs to improve facilities for me to consider the price worth it.

We had our rehearsal dinner on 10/24/25 and the catering manager was absolutely amazing! We rented to room upstairs and it was so incredibly spacious and nice, the wait staff was fantastic, the food delicious and Kristen was just the most incredibly helpful person I would recommend using them for any of you event needs 10000000/10

Chuck’s Fish is located downtown Tuscaloosa and is one of my favorite restaurants in Tuscaloosa. The food is always fresh and the service is always great. If you have a large party I would come early if you don’t want to wait. If it’s game day you definitely need to plan ahead. The sushi is great, actually some of the best. There pizzas are also excellent. It’s all great!

The Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, situated by the Black Warrior River, is a popular venue for outdoor concerts and events featuring renowned performers. It offers an enjoyable experience with convenient parking options such as downtown intermodal and shuttle services. The amphitheater boasts excellent acoustics and lighting, making it a perfect location for live music performances. With efficient staff managing the crowds and seating arrangements, attendees can enjoy their favorite shows with ease.
Excellent venue for outdoor concerts. Bathrooms were clean and easily handled the near capacity crowd. Plenty of concession/drink options with not much line. Stage is oriented so as to block the brutal heat from the setting sun. Although while we were there it was 92 degrees at 9pm with a feels like 98 thanks to humidity. We saw Ringo Starr and the All Star band. Great show!
Karl S — Google review
We have attended multiple events here this year. Several comments. 1) Event staff inside the venue are fabulous! Very friendly, helpful and they do a fantastic job of crowd control and keeping the venue (especially restrooms) clean. 2) Event staff outside the venue are friendly but perhaps need a bit more training. Whole the website clearly says there is a “Drop off /Pick up” area, the staff directing traffic seem to know nothing about this. Either they need to be better informed or the website needs to be updated if such a place no longer exists. 3) At three events, we arrived over 90 minutes before gates open to find the precious few handicapped parking spaces taken. Meanwhile, the same lot has dozens of “reserved” spots marked off with orange cones. When leaving the events (we always leave a few minutes early to beat traffic) we have observed at least two dozen “reserved” spots vacant and still closed off by the orange cones. Regular parking is relatively easy with multiple options. However, if you are handicapped, not so much since the designated spaces fill up every early and event staff say there is no drop off area to let a handicapped person out at for easier access. 4) Food options need to improve and expand. Both Orion in Huntsville and Coca Cola in Birmingham have leave Tuscaloosa in the shade with fantastic and varied options for food and snacks. 5) All of that being said, I would not pass on this venue. It is cozy, clean, safe and in a beautiful location. We look forward to next season.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Tuscaloosa Amphitheater – 5 Stars What a night! The Masters of the Mic concert at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater was an absolute masterclass in hip-hop history, flow, and showmanship. From the moment I arrived, the entire experience was seamless — friendly and professional staff, smooth entry, clearly marked signs, and even helpful guidance getting to my seat. And then the magic started. The stage was lit — literally and lyrically — as legends stepped up one by one and tore it down with flow, swag, and deep gratitude. The lineup featured: 🎤 Doug E. Fresh 🎤 Slick Rick 🎤 MC Lyte 🎤 Big Daddy Kane 🎤 Treach (from Naughty By Nature) 🎤 EPMD Every artist gave the crowd their full energy — nostalgic, commanding, and full of love for the culture and fans. The production was top-tier, and you could feel the reverence and legacy in the building. It was more than a concert — it was a celebration. I left smiling, full, healed and hyped, Can’t wait for the next one. 🎶🔥✨ #MastersOfTheMic #TuscaloosaAmphitheater #HipHopLegends

♿️First concert at this amphitheater and it is pretty nice. Gorgeous views before concert, seating is fairly comfortable, and its very clean and well kept. Security is very tight and there was EMS, as well as police on scene, for anything crazy. A bus will take you back and forth for the concert if you park in the free parking deck. It was very convenient. Traffic was not horrible getting home this way. It is extremely accessible. I was very happy about that fact and found it easy to navigate for restrooms, drinks, and getting back and forth. The seats are extremely close together and that poses a slight problem for me with my leg, but security did an excellent job keeping the aisles clear. Beautiful. If you get a chance to go to a concert here, I do recommend it. I was a little disappointed at the lack of handicap parking spaces, but having the bus and free parking made up for that.

Visitors can explore interactive exhibits that delve into the company's legacy and showcase vintage cars. The showroom displays classic, modern, and concept cars from the Mercedes-Benz line, offering a comprehensive look at their evolution over time.
A much needed refresher. What an experience. I was fortunate to be able to visit the Mercedes Benz Visitor Center for the 2nd time and what a face lift. The last time I visited was Brand Immersion. I am proud to be apart of an amazing Company. Our team of facilitators are truly phenomenal. They’re entertaining, funny and beyond friendly. The facility is amazing and very spacious. It’s pretty cool to see the where it all comes from.

The Old Tavern Museum, dating back to 1827, was once a bustling tavern and hostel along a stagecoach route. Today, it stands as one of the few remaining 19th-century inns, offering visitors a glimpse into the past. This historic building in Tuscaloosa served as both a stagecoach inn and Civil War hospital. It now operates as a museum, providing insight into the city's rich history.
I had the opportunity to visit during the holidays and learned a tremendous amount about Tuscaloosa and this home/tavern! I highly recommend you take advantage of the free tours!
Victoria O — Google review
Better to show up 100% of the time 2 days a week than to show up 40% of the time 5 days a week....respect visitors time.
Soylent G — Google review
Our tour was terrific, but the tours aren't free any longer. Even though the official website still says they are and the sign on the door even said free admission. So, we were very surprised to be asked to pay $5 per person per location for the three associated tours (this tavern, the Battle-Friedman House and the Jemison-Van de Graaff Mansion). We weren't the only ones asked to pay, so perhaps this is the new fee. The tour was very informative and interesting, but when you expect to get in free and suddenly have to pay, that diminishes the experience. It isn't an outrageous price and in fact, the information is probably worth it, but when everything says free and it isn't, someone should be updating their information.

UpSurge Trampoline Park is a popular and convenient destination for fun, especially for birthday parties. The basic package offers a great time with staff that cleans up the room after the party. The facility is clean and family-friendly, with reasonable prices. Even toddlers can have a blast here, as the attentive staff ensures their safety while they play. Additionally, older kids can enjoy activities like facing fears of heights and jumping into foam pit pools or taking on challenging Ninja Courses.
Nice place. Took my 2 year old granddaughter and she had a blast. Set up very nice and clean. Enjoyed our time.

I have always enjoyed this place for my kids but it’s definitely not a good idea to have it open to much older kids and the little ones later at night. The older kids were extremely rowdy and it did not feel safe, fun, or family friendly. It might be a good idea to invest in security, metal detectors, and have adults supervising the play area at night and maybe having a cutoff time for the younger kids.

Went for a grands birthday party and watching them play and have fun bouncing, climbing and jumping in the fome pit makes me wish I was younger so I could join them.
Dawn C — Google review
The place is not that clean, there is not a good place for parent to seat while they are waiting for their kids, they could make it way better than that. The option of the food os not that good. They could improve it with better management.
A F — Google review
So much fun. I was worried my 2 year old was too small to play here but since friend wanted to go so we tried it out. The staff was amazing. They made sure bigger kids stayed out of the area we were jumping in and my little guy had a blast. The basketball goal even lowers down low enough for him to play which was great since he's obsessed and must play anytime he sees a goal! The price seems a little high at $15 an hour but we try to go on Tuesdays now since you get 2 hours for the price of one! Just a warning, the form pit is really hard to get out of so don't jump too far out unless you want a real workout!
Christina S — Google review
Love the atmosphere. I've got a 2 year old who loves to jump and he loves the dodge balls they have there. Except he doesn't play dodgeball. He just wants to carry it around with em. Lol the staff didn't say a word about the balls not being in a certain area(which I'm sure weren't allowed). Instead they just let em play. 5 stars

It has a very nice feel to it, and it's sad I can't fully enjoy the full experience due to my disability, but I do commend the hidden trail and the ACTUAL trails. Pulled off a 2 mile hike while my niece and nephew played in the pool. Would also like to point out that disrespectful people (to the area, haven't met anyone disrespectful in person thankfully) do make the area somewhat difficult to enjoy since trash isn't picked up. Beautiful scenic routes and very beautiful place for outdoor pics too.

The Historic Drish House, originally constructed in 1837 for Dr. John Drish, stands as a testament to Tuscaloosa's early history. The mansion was built by skilled slave artisans under the direction of Drish, who was not only a successful physician but also worked as a building contractor. The house is now available for events and has garnered praise for its beautiful grounds and classic interior design, including chandeliers and a bride and groom suite.
Highly recommend! We rented The Historic Drish House for our daughter’s wedding. Nikka and Deanna walked us through the planning process and went above and beyond to make her day perfect! The Drish House is absolutely beautiful and the tent is perfect for the reception.

I hosted my husband a surprise Masquerade 30th Party at the Historic Drish House and we utilized the tent right beside it. This venue was top notch. For one, they have so much decor that they willingly let you have access to at no additional charge as well as the table linens, arch backdrops, etc. I didn’t have to book an event designer because the staff at the Drish House done everything ! This could literally be your one stop shop. The cost is very reasonable compared to other venues In Tuscaloosa. Jessica was my event coordinator, and from day one she’s been very responsive. You would think you’re her only client because she’s that responsive. She was very thorough and worked with me to ensure it was just what I wanted. If you’re looking for a nice venue and communications matters to you, look no further! This is it, book them!!! 👏🏽👏🏽

Events at the Drish House are always special. The actors/waiters were talented, funny, and efficient. The atmosphere and chosen Poe stores were appropriately creepy. The playground is GREAT! I was very disappointed that the huge gates were bolted open. I think there should be gates to keep the children inside the play area. We always watch our grandchildren, but a gate with a working latch would make it safer for everyone. My grandchildren live in Huntsville and the parks in Huntsville have working gates. Many parents and childcare workers have multiple children to monitor. I just know that a gate would improve this valuable addition to Tuscaloosa.

Small park with only a few short trails. It is nice for younger kids & families. There were a few educational items on one trail. Bathrooms, fishing locations, streams, picnic tables, grills, tent & RV locations on site. Paths are rock & not made for wheelchair or stroller.

One of the best parks in the Northport/ Tuscaloosa area.

Love it because of how quiet it is. There several trails you can explore and picnic tables with fire pits in different spots. There is a beautiful porch swing overlooking the pond as well. Dogs are welcome. No play equipment, just nature for your kids to run around in.
Bandits&Spies — Google review
Nice park! Cheap camping with plenty of trails, creeks, and ponds to checkout. Nice spot for bird watching. Bring a hammock or chair and stay for a while! The park ranger who works there is cool, helpful and laid back as well!

With walking trails, camp sites with barbecues, lake, streams, rock dam, a suspension bridge, picnic tables, swings, and more, this is a great place to commune with nature. We spotted fish, snakes, and water bugs along the way. There are tons of flowers and water plants like lilly pads, too.

Farmers' market
The Northport Farmers' Market is a popular event held every Saturday morning along the Black Warrior River. Local farmers gather to sell their fresh produce, attracting people from all over in search of grass-fed beef, local cheeses, and organic goods. The market offers a variety of items including fresh fruits, vegetables, honey, artisan preserves, crafts, and baked goods. While some find the products slightly overpriced due to their unique quality, others appreciate the selection of farm-fresh produce at great prices.
A good selection of farm fresh grown produce. It's very busy at opening time. 8am-12:30pm according to website. I bought tomatoes that are delicious!
Doug ( — Google review
I was looking forward to going this year. This morning, I arrived at 7, and the place was busy. There were at least five businesses that accepted the farmers market card. I purchased 8 ears of corn on the cob, dark cherries, a basket of peaches, and some honey. The cherries, honey, and peaches were the safest buy. The corn was not what they represented at all. The tops were wet inside and covered with mush and included live caterpillars. I haven't seen such a disgusting mess all year. I had to cut 1/4 off each ear. Then I had to remove the husky before storing it. The kernels are missing one all of the cobs. They showed a fat white ear of corn unblemished. That's far from what I paid for! The peaches had a bad one hiding in the bottom corner of the bucket. A couple of them look like an insect had been on them or in them. I'll find out later. The corn was the biggest disappointment overall. Two days ago, I found out that those weren't cherries that I purchased. No one told me any differently. It wasn't until I took a bite that I discovered it was actually a plum. I'm not a fan of plums and didn't know they were small like that. I'm going to make a compote out of them.

The University of Alabama Arboretum is a public botanical education site that offers wooded walking trails and various gardens. It's not located on the university campus, making it a perfect outing for a nice day. The arboretum features different sections such as a wildflower garden, an experimental garden, and a children's garden, all contributing to its mission of focusing on biodiversity in Alabama through research, teaching, and conservation efforts.
Nice place to visit for a pleasant walk in the woods. There are lots of birds and the day I went hardly any people.

I thought I'd been to all the best spots in Tuscaloosa when it comes to parks... This place truly felt magical. It felt peaceful and safe even hiking through trails. Lived here a long time and never heard of this place till I just looked at a map and decided why not. Spent 2 hours having an adventure and still could've done more. Please do yourself a favor and check this place out!

Recent infrastructure improvements are making a big difference. New entrance signage and new chairs and seating in the pavilion are a great upgrade. Trails need better signage and could be linked to longer walls they the old golf course. Beautiful Magnolias

We had a nice walk here on the forest trails. And really enjoyed watching the produce area.
Håkan E — Google review
It was OK. Lot's of shade so that was nice. Not a great variety of trees or flora. Signage was weak. Backs up to a highly developed area so you're not exactly in the country. You take the same narrow road in that you take out. Can be problematic if you have a large vehicle and have opposing traffic. I would be careful with pets and young children because of the poison ivy/oak. Consider wearing pants not shorts.

Nestled in a charming historic church building in downtown Tuscaloosa, the Tuscaloosa Museum of Art: Home of the Westervelt Collection is a treasure trove for art enthusiasts. With over 1,500 pieces spanning various styles and periods, this museum showcases an impressive array of fine and decorative American art, including stunning paintings, intricate sculptures, and exquisite pottery. The serene setting is enhanced by beautifully manicured Japanese gardens that surround the pagoda-style structure.
We visited back on Labor Day weekend. The museum had beautiful art work and very friendly staff. My daughter is an art history major at UA and she would love to explore working there during her time in Tuscaloosa.
Christine G — Google review
It is a beautiful building, but certainly not what one would expect. It is very tranquil Japanese style of architecture. When you first walk in you are greeted by a macaw and an African grey parrot and extremely friendly staff. The at they have is very nice and a lot of revolutionary America style themes pieces of art. I was really looking forward to seeing the civil war exhibits they have advertised on their website but the only one that was on display was a bust of Robert E. Lee. Definitely a neat little place to check out of you have time.
Andrew F — Google review
I enjoyed the artwork and the grounds, but the cages the macaw and African Grey were in were depressing. No toys. No variety in the perch sizes. No mirrors. They were really too small for birds that size. Bama seems to have pulled out all his tail feathers to have something to do. The cages and the floor around them were also filthy. The birds are clearly not as important as the beautiful grass that surrounds the buildings. That was clear to me.
Amanda P — Google review
Beautiful Americana art work. Sophisticated and housed in a lovely pagoda style building surrounded by manicured Japanese gardens. A must visit gem in Tuscaloosa.

It's in the Westervelt building off Jack Warner parkway, not the best location. Very small very limited, quite unimpressive . You'd think the sheer presence of the U of A would generate a better facility but then again 'here? Football is after all king.

DePalma's Italian Cafe is a lively venue known for its cozy atmosphere and delicious Italian food. It's an ideal spot for celebrating special family events or intimate moments with loved ones. The menu features classic Italian dishes like lasagna and veal marsala, as well as unique specials such as gorgonzola filet and pine-nut crusted salmon. While popular among locals, reservations are not accepted, so be prepared to wait while enjoying a glass of wine.
Get. The. Pizza. There’s many different combinations of toppings that you can choose on the pizzas here. This might be the best pizza I’ve ever had in my life actually. And I’ve been to Italy in New York City like 40 times. Stuffed mushrooms were very good as well. Everything about this place was awesome. The food was top-notch and the service was really really good. It is not a big place and while I didn’t wait for a table, I’m pretty sure I got the only open one and I went at 5:00 PM so I’m sure there’s usually a wait in the evenings.
Christopher S — Google review
Everything about this place was fabulous!! We were welcomed and seated very quickly with smiling faces. Our server was Alana, I highly recommend request if you can. She was very attentive even while juggling other tables/parties. The food was delicious and fresh. I highly recommended anyone from out of town enjoying the experience of DeDALMA'S when in Tuscaloosa!!

Had a Caesar salad with the additional salmon! Wasn’t in a pasta mood. First time here, portions are good, food was great and they catered to us. A loud italian restaurant but the vibes are good & Our waitress was so kind.

Quaint Lil place in downtown Tuscaloosa, friendly staff, great appetizers, super entrées. We ordered the stuffed shells with Asiago cream sauce, extra mushrooms. Outstanding! Wife had Mediterranean pasta with Salmon, there was so much, and so good, she brought some back to hotel for another day. Bread was a good accomplice with meal. If we do return any time soon, it's on the list to go back to.

The restaurant was packed out on a Tuesday night, so I sat at the bar. I could see how the wait time could get long. The food itself was pretty good. Not amazing, but not "Olive Garden" quality as others have stated. I had the stuffed mushrooms and the daily lasagna with a Caesar salad.

After a long trip from another state, we were looking forward to a pleasant Italian dinner. This quaint restaurant has great potential: the atmosphere is nice and the location guarantees a lot of customers. We were seated immediately and Carlos was our server. He was very snippy, but gave fast service. One of the wines we wanted was unavailable but we were able to substitute. This is the end of anything good to say, as I begin to review the food. I ordered spaghetti with Bolognese sauce and it was unlike any Bolognese I've ever seen. It was floating in 1/2 inch of water. There were tiny pieces of flat meat in it which I'm beginning to think was bologna. Is it possible they made Bolognese with bologna? It was thick and very tomato-y and pretty much tasteless. I took 2 bites and was finished. Obviously, the garlic bread is purchased already sliced, coated in a fake butter and garlic powder, then frozen. It was so bad. I've pictured the Pasta DePalma which came with a "cap" of broiled cheese. Underneath was a tasteless, watery sauce, chicken and ice cold mushrooms. Please, anyone, where can you get a good meal in Tuscaloosa? It was so disappointing. We were taking someone out for a special dinner and special it was not. We spent over $130 for food we boxed up, unable to eat.
Beth C — Google review
A mixed review: love the space, high ceilings and old style decorations. Great service, very attentive. But the food was meh... mid week lunch, the special lasagna $30 definitely over priced and far from great.. gloppy, chewy and in a bowl swimming in excess liquid. A veggie pasta lunch $15 was so-so with the veggies all a bit more crunchy than ideal. (Didn't have the pizza which might be good.) Portions were very large. My opinion is they should reduce portion size and learn/adopt more modern menu & chef - maybe import someone from Bottega or Gian Marco....
Cahaba D — Google review
We love Italian food especially homemade pasta, but found no homemade pasta here & pizza was dry. We did ask for extra sauce & they brought out a tomato soup like pizza sauce that had no flavor & charged $3. Atmosphere & service was very nice and bottle price on wine looked very reasonable.

To-go beer—need I say more? This place nailed it with solid pizza, cut square-style for maximum snackability. Pro tip: go for the sweet honey pepperoni—it’s a game changer. Pair that with a crisp blonde beer, and you’ve got a winning combo. The bartender? Absolute MVP. Even with a packed house for the Auburn vs. Alabama game, they kept the drinks flowing and the vibes if you’re an Alabama fan are the best. Whether you’re here for the beer, the pizza, or just the chaos of a rivalry game, this spot delivers.

Our favorite restaurant when we visit Tuscaloosa! The pizza is a sooo good and the salads are huge! We had a chicken bacon ranch pizza and a garden salad. Alcove is a laid-back neighborhood bar with a collegial atmosphere and an extensive beer list, including island-inspired cocktails. It was recognized as one of the best college beer bars in America by Men's Health Magazine and was Tuscaloosa's first smoke-free bar. Established in 2009, it has become a beloved spot for both locals and visitors. The tavern offers a lively yet relaxed ambiance, promoting the craft beer scene with its wide collection of brews.
Best bar in Tuscaloosa. Amazing and friendly service, staff. Great shots! The vintage pinball machines offer a dose of nostalgic, analog fun!
Laura C — Google review
Wednesday freeplay is BS. Came here for this reason, and the pinball machines are not on freeplay. Called in advance and got no answer.. Took an Uber and made a special trip, even. Barmaid told me she "didn't know if they still did that," and they "don't have a phone," even though the website lists a phone number and advertises free gameplay on Wednesday night.. I'm from out of town on business. I was looking forward to this all week. I'm not some college kid looking to go out and get hammered at some random dive bar. UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE. GET A REAL PHONE NUMBER. Nice atmosphere.. friendly staff.. Machines are in good shape. Restrooms are clean. Beer prices are fair. I enjoyed myself, but false advertising and unmet expectations can ruin a mood easily.

Hands down the best bar in Tuscaloosa! If you’re looking for a place where the “barmaids” (yes, I said barmaids lol see last review 🙄) actually know how to make a drink instead of just pouring one — this is it. These are true mixologists who go above and beyond every single time. The atmosphere is always welcoming, chill, and just the right mix of laid-back and lively. The bathrooms? Spotless. The staff? Absolute pros who treat you like family. Alcove isn’t just a bar — it’s a little slice of Tuscaloosa perfection where everybody really does know your name (and your drink order).
Brandi L — Google review
Alcove is one of those hidden bars that feels like a well-kept secret among locals—and once you find it, you’ll want to return. Located at 730 22nd Ave, it’s tucked off the more frequented corridors but offers a refreshing alternative to the typical college-bar scene. One of its strongest draws is that it’s smoke-free inside, so you can enjoy your drink without the haze and lingering smell. The interior is cozy but not cramped—after a modest expansion, it now feels more open yet intimate. The bartenders are quite adept at recommending new beers or letting you sample before committing. Beer selection is solid: expect a rotating tap list (around a dozen or so) plus a broad array of bottles.

It is well-maintained and features separate areas for different dog sizes.
Very nice park with plenty of space but there’s a guy who has a Belgian malinois (German shepherd) with a red frisby who will attack other dogs just having fun. He’s there like daily so watch out
Ryan — Google review
This park is great. The PARA staff? Not. We pulled up today, 4/7/24, and there was one dog in the big dog park. The one big dog charged the gate and was being territorial of the park. My dogs hair rose up, so Tiffany the park ranger started screaming to get my dogs out. The other dog CHARGED MY TWO YEAR OLD and Tiffany did nothing and just sat there. She called the cops. (In which she got told she was wrong) Made comments to the other woman how our vicious dogs should be put down. Our dogs frequent dog parks in this area and never show aggression. Dogs hair rising is not aggression. Dogs charging other dogs and humans is. We’ll stick to good dog, where the staff know dog behavior.
Mariah K — Google review
If you want your dog to get attacked this a good place to go😃When everyone and their mom brings their dog it gets out of control. It’s not just the dogs as well the owners have no awareness to control their dog. People need to start having more control over their dog. My dog was bit today after roaming around aimlessly and being playful. Surprise surprise the owner of these pack of German shepherds does nothing. Don’t recommend if you are looking to have fun with a nice dog.

The Mildred Westervelt Warner Transportation Museum, part of UA Museums, is a free museum in Tuscaloosa, Alabama that showcases the history of transportation and its impact on the city's development. The museum features both permanent and rotating exhibits. Housed in a former bathhouse designed by Frank Lloyd Wright's understudy, Don Buel Schuyler, in 1943, the building itself is an architectural gem with well-preserved interior tiles and remnants of an Olympic-sized pool.
Love this small local museum! We went to see the Don Buel Schuyler exhibit. He was the architect for the museum building (old pool house), pool (now gone), and fountain. So interesting how his architecture still has a big impact in Tuscaloosa. Schuyler was an apprentice to Frank Lloyd Wright. The museum building (old pool house) is round, and still has the faint smell of chlorine from decades ago. There is a lot of interesting information about the Black Warrior River, and the growth of the early town. The museum is free, and doesn't take too long to visit. The wonderful old fountain with an art deco flair-- focal point of the pool area outside-- is worth a stop all by itself. The person working was friendly and knowledgeable; she answered our questions and helped us understand some of the history. Highly recommend!

Ok, so the transportation part of this was a bit dry, But, But, the building itself is super cool!!! It was designed by a understudy of Frank Loyd Wright, Don Buel Schuyler, in 1943. The inside is as cool as the outside. You can tell where all the shower stalls were, the tiles are in pristine condition, everything then was built to last. You can go out in the back and see where the Olympic size pool lies (it's been filled in, but some corner tiles are still visible). The stone stadium seating still stands, as does a fantastic art deco style fountain and wading pool. Enjoyed talking to a kid who works here who explained some of the buildings history and pointed me to other buildings in Tuscaloosa the architect designed. He was really helpful. The museum is free, btw.

Nice little place. A good way to kill an hour in the air conditioning (for free!). They have a rotating exhibit in the center of the museum (currently about bugs). Not sure how that relates to transportation, but it's good to have some variety. A few interactive things for kids, but otherwise lots of readings and self-guided experiences.

Went here with m-i-l and G-m-i-l, I didnt know what to expect but it blew any expectations out of the water. When I say QUANTITY and QUALITY I mean it. Half a salad is plenty unless your a starving man, you can also make a meal out of the onion ring appetizers which are O.U.T.S.T.A.N.D.I.N.G. I appreciate the creativeness of these Tuscaloosa resturants. You can really tell they want to be there.

Have loved this place for many years. Time it right to see the gorgeous sunset. They recently added a little additional trail towards the East. Bathrooms are located in the gazebo near the playground and the businesses down the path a ways. Great for walking, running, and putting down a blanket or choosing a bench and hanging out. My favorite place to find some zen in Tuscaloosa.

Beautiful waterfront park right at the entrance to the UA Residentual Campus. If you need a place, outdoors, with some shade, that is not in the middle of campus, this is a nice retreat. Plenty of picnic tables and some grills.

Government Plaza is a charming five-acre park nestled in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa, conveniently located near City Hall and the Intermodal Facility parking deck. The park features a large fountain, a central gazebo for live music, and ample green space with accessible sidewalks. Visitors can relax on benches under shady trees and make use of the provided restrooms. The plaza is dog-friendly and often hosts various events such as art and music festivals, outdoor movies, and more.
I love how they transformation this park during holiday season (T-town tinsel). I circled around a few times then eventually read about the historic aspect of this park with its engrave statues. A lot of history in Alabama and opportunities for people of color in city involvement. I would love to come back w/o holiday decor. I walk/drove past bus transit and never knew a park exist. Convinced location with municipal building nearby.

Beautiful plaza is a 5-acre park in the heart of downtown Tuscaloosa. There is a large lovely fountain, a central gazebo / covered stage for live music, and a sprawling green space with accessible sidewalks. There are also some benches, shady trees, and restrooms. Dog-friendly (dogs must be leashed). Heat Pizza is at this park, great spot for pizza and beer. Several art and music festivals are held here, as well as outdoor family movies and other events. For a month or two in winter, the park is transformed into a Christmas wonderland! There is a tinsel trail of Christmas trees all lit up, and even an ice skating rink. Highly recommend.

Had a blast although I realized why it's been over 20 years since I went ice skating. My 7 year old was a beast, never giving up no matter how much she struggled. Everyone was super nice and helpful and the trees are once again beautiful to see. Will be going back next weekend.

Went one night to see the Christmas Tinsel Trail in Tuscaloosa which is usually held on the Riverwalk. We enjoyed the visit, all the trees were wonderful. We were able to park nearby and actually took the toonies walking with us. They had an ice rink and food trucks too. Very nice.

We had lots of fun ice-skating. It was painful though. There was excellent hot coco at a restaurant near by. They make the hot coco with whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles. They were 4 dollars each, but so good. It's 15 dollars to ice-skate but but 12.00 on Tuesday or something like that. They have polar bears that you hold to balance while you learn. You can also use the rail like at a roller rink. There is a nearby bathroom by the restaurant.

With an impressive selection of 63 beers on tap and 30 locally brewed options, Loosa Brews offers a delightful atmosphere brimming with entertainment options. From their growler fill station to quality craft beer packaging, this place leaves no stone unturned in its commitment to providing top-notch beverages.
Another great spot to grab a beer in Tuscaloosa. They have a good selection of wine as well. My favorite part is the outdoor seating. Love the music and arcade! No food served but you can bring your to-go order.

Loosa is how I found out I like beer a few years ago. Their selection of sours is always amazing! My boyfriend likes to get their pilsners and IPAs. We go without checking the menu because we know we'll find something we like. Sometimes they have an imperial milk stout on tap- they're my favorite, and can be hard to find on a shelf- and I think taste better on tap anyway. We've made a ritual of bringing in food from restaurants nearby and enjoying our beer with it. The service is always good too! they're quick, friendly and knowledgeable, let you sample a lot, and have excellent taste in playlists.

Underrated craft beer spot. If you’re one of those people who’s like “Oh, geez, I need eighteen shots of tequila to feel something,” this is not your vibe. If you’re like, “I enjoy going to bars where I’m nuts to butts with strangers and it’s too loud to think, much less have a conversation,” this is not your vibe. This is for esteemed, scholarly gentlemen and women who need nothing more than a nice tap beer, a board game, and a patio to enjoy themselves. Down with the system! Revolt against the Gallettes and the Rounders and the Red Sheds of the world. Down with them! Down, I say! I will not repeat myself… They should do a Peter Griffin night here where everyone dresses like Peter Griffin. “He’s… a… family… guy!”

My son always enjoys the arcade and laser tag. So we had his 8th (minecraft-themed) birthday at ShinDig. There's a minimum of 10 guests required. The (Helen) room was spacious enough for 10 kids and their parents. Sherry was nice and informative. That provided 10 vanilla cupcakes with green icing and half of the decorations you see in the photos. We went December 28 and the prize shop was closed.

OMG this place is horrible, we're in town visiting and decided to stop here for the kiddos, I done spent over 200$ for the kids and they done close the redeem tickets area whereas my kids are not able to cash in their tickets and than we're looking for the manager to get some sort of understanding here she come smelling like a hole carton of cigarettes around all these kids saying that she's not able to open the redeem area. I don't recommend anyone come to this smoke lounge if you don't live close and no good communication was horrible

So now everyone's day is ruined because some lazy old woman wants to have a bad attitude with people, o top of not even paying for wasted gas over their own false advertisement

June 2025-5 STARS Shindig is a go-to summer spot for our family—we’re there at least once or twice a week! It’s a fun, easy place to hang out, bowl, and enjoy quality time. My son bowls on league here, and the staff always creates a welcoming environment. It’s a true community staple—no frills, just consistent fun and memories in the making. Grateful to have a place like this right in town! ⭐ Updated Review – 1 Star-July 2025 As a parent and a long-time supporter of local youth bowling, I initially gave Shindig 5 stars. But after several visits, I’ve realized the pricing feels inconsistent, unposted, and arbitrary—especially at the register. It’s frustrating to have different totals for the same services depending on the day. Parents deserve clear, posted pricing when planning activities and budgeting. Other venues like Bowlero are upfront. This feels exploitative and disappointing. I’ve updated my review and adjusted my rating accordingly.

Bowers Park is a spacious and vibrant park with plenty of activities to enjoy during the summer. The park offers a natural and secluded atmosphere, making it a great escape from the city. Visitors can explore challenging disc golf trails and take advantage of the well-maintained pool with exciting slides and splash pools. Additionally, there are playgrounds, covered picnic areas, walking trails, and baseball fields available for various outdoor activities.
Plenty of parking and walking area. Well kept grounds and often a PARA ranger patrols if you have any issues. There are also bathrooms near the batting cages.

Nice park. There for a softball tournament. Only complaint I had was trying to find which ball field #8 was. Absolutely no signs visible from road or parking lots.
Gary L — Google review
I recently explored Bowers Park, located at 2101 Bowers Park Dr, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and here’s my review based on available information and user feedback. **Atmosphere (4/5):** Bowers Park is a nearly 170-acre community gem that feels like a peaceful retreat despite its proximity to the bustling University of Alabama. The park’s layout initially resembles a commercial area, with a strip of grass and what looks like an office building, but it opens up into a spacious, well-maintained recreational hub. The wooded trails, open fields, and scenic creek create a welcoming environment for families, students, and outdoor enthusiasts. It’s especially vibrant during baseball tournaments or disc golf events, though quieter times offer solitude for a relaxing walk. The dog-friendly policy (leashed pets only) and kid-friendly amenities like the playground and Mason’s Place All-Inclusive Playground add to its community appeal. However, some visitors note that the entrance can be tricky to navigate, and poison ivy in summer months requires caution.[](https://www.yelp.com/biz/bowers-park-tuscaloosa)[](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/alabama/bowers-park-disc-golf-course)[](https://topdogparks.com/places/bowers-park/) **Amenities (4.5/5):** Bowers Park is packed with facilities, making it a versatile destination. The disc golf course, a standout feature, is a challenging 18-hole layout with hilly, wooded terrain, concrete red tees, and carpet pads for white and black tees. It’s praised as one of Alabama’s top courses, though dense vegetation and occasional signage issues can complicate navigation for newcomers. The Nancie Blewitt Swim Complex (Bowers Pool) is a hit with families, featuring an impressive slide and open seasonally (May to September, $10/non-members, $8/PARA members). The park also boasts lighted baseball/softball fields, outdoor tennis courts, an indoor walking track, a fitness center, and the Jerry Belk Activity Center. Picnic shelters (Elm, Maple, Sycamore, Minnie Sellers) and grills are available for rent, perfect for group outings. The 1.8-mile loop trail is great for hiking, birding, or casual walks, though it’s primarily designed for disc golf, which can make hiking tricky when players are active. My only critique is that the trail could use clearer markings to avoid confusion with the disc golf course.[](https://www.dgcoursereview.com/courses/bowers-park.92)[](https://visittuscaloosa.com/listing/bowers-park/)[](https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/alabama/bowers-park-disc-golf-course) **Maintenance and Accessibility (3.5/5):** The Tuscaloosa County Parks & Recreation Authority (TCPARA) does a commendable job maintaining the park, with recent improvements to the disc golf course (e.g., clearing dead trees and underbrush in 2019). Trash bags and benches at most tee pads are a thoughtful touch. However, some reviews mention overgrown areas, missing signage, and a lack of bridges over the creek, which can pose challenges, especially for less sure-footed visitors. The park is accessible, with free entry for most activities (except the pool), and its location off I-20/59 at McFarland (Exit 73) is convenient. Parking is ample, but the one-way road near the ball fields can be confusing. The park’s ongoing expansion plans under Elevate Tuscaloosa suggest future enhancements, though no completion date is set.[](https://www.mapquest.com/us/alabama/bowers-park-358278012)[](https://elevatetuscaloosa.com/uncategorized/bowers-park/)[](https://www.discgolfscene.com/courses/Bowers_Park/reviews) **Value (4.5/5):** Bowers Park is a fantastic value, offering free access to most amenities, including the disc golf course (just bring your own discs, ~$16 for a starter set). The pool’s pricing is reasonable, especially for PARA members, and the rentable facilities are affordable for events. It’s a budget-friendly spot for students escaping campus chaos or families seeking outdoor fun. The only minor drawback is the potential for lost discs in the thick woods or unexpected costs like pool entry for non-members.[](https://visittusc

We were driving from Louisiana to Tennessee and decided to stop and stretch our legs at Bowers Park. After about ten minutes, we were back on the road. An hour later, the little boy with us realized he left his favorite stuffed animal, Pup-Pup. He was devastated. I called the number to rent the pavilion we had stood by, and the wonderful representative I spoke with provided me with the park rangers phone number. Restaurant
Jalapeños Downtown Cocina + Tequila Bar is a Mexican restaurant located in downtown Tuscaloosa, offering a variety of Mexican dishes with unique twists. It boasts an extensive selection of margaritas, wines, and cocktails, and is known for having the largest tequila bar in Alabama. The restaurant has made a comeback to downtown Tuscaloosa after closing its previous location years ago.
Very authentic Mexican food. Before coming, I was afraid if it would be far from authentic, but I was wrong. It really exceeded my expectations. As a Latina, I can say the food was extremely delicious and it was also a big amount considering the price. The service was very good. 100% recommended, we will definitely be back.

When I think of Mexican food, I do not think Tuscaloosa, AL. Found this place tucked back off a main street in the downtown area. Table seating in and out, decent selection of menu items, tried the carnitas plate and was pleasantly surprised. The pork was plentiful, tender and moist, a dish most restaurants ruin. The enchilada platter was an excellent dish with good spice but not overly hot, the chips and salsa was more meh due to the salsa having no flavor, no bite, no taste except like a watery tomato sauce. Server kept the drinks coming without being asked, prices are moderate. Give it a solid 4 stars.

I’m not sure why this restaurant hasn’t received all 5 star reviews. It’s the best in town and one of the best Mexicans we’ve had anywhere in the country. We’ve been t here more than I can count and every time the food has been fantastic. The portion size and the prices are also great. And the servers are wonderful. One of the servers, Jose, is very friendly and always makes great food recommendations.

This place was recommended by someone at the UA welcome center and we decided to give it a try. We were very happy with our choice. We arrived right when it opened so we were the only people there. The service was great, the food was amazing and the atmosphere and decor was fun. We ordered the three tacos (al pastor, tilapia and chicken), the Big Mad Wolf burrito (too much to eat for one meal) and the Fajita Gumbo - their "signature dish". All were great and we were all happy with the food and the value of the food. The chips and salsa were great too. This is a fabulous place to eat and they are opening a bar next door next week.
Ryan A — Google review
This was my first time at this restaurant and I'm telling you right now you need to run and not walk to this food joint. This was the best Mexican food I've had in Tuscaloosa! The chips and salsa come out automatically and they were hot and the salsa was amazing. I ordered a hard shell and soft-shell steak taco and they were phenomenal. The steak was absolutely amazing. It was so well seasoned so whatever you order on the menu make sure it includes the steak! Super friendly staff and awesome service you cannot go wrong with this one.
Brian J — Google review
Great lunch! Jalapeño’s is always good and our first visit here for a quick lunch was not a disappointment. The new restaurant has a similar feel to the others but with a classy twist. We sat downstairs but the upstairs seating looked to be decorated really well. Food was delicious, fresh and the place had a cool and relaxed vibe. The service was on point as well and our waitress was very attentive. We will be back to try brunch (on the weekends). One other note, if you are looking for a “traditional”Jalapeños experience, this particular location isn’t it. It is a smaller classier version with a more focused menu and they have definitely embraced the tequila bar concept which should be good for downtown patrons. Highly recommend checking the new place out!

When exploring Tuscaloosa, one cannot miss the stunning Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, a key landmark that embodies the city's rich history and architectural beauty. Nestled in the heart of downtown, this courthouse is surrounded by charming local shops and boutiques along the picturesque riverfront. Visitors can also enjoy a delightful array of dining options that showcase authentic Southern cuisine.
The recording office people are nice, but they think the law says you have to pay a recording fee for your RT-1 form. The law doesn't even say it has to be recorded. No good deed should ever go punished. If they make you pay $3 to record the form, ask them how to get a refund.

A Courthouse Experience That’s Actually… Pleasant! It’s not every day that I travel from Birmingham to the Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, but when I do, it’s always with purpose — and usually with a client by my side. This time, I had the privilege of helping a sweet client who inherited property in Tuscaloosa County. We made the trip together so she could begin the process of transferring the property into her name as she decides whether to sell or hold on to it. Let’s be honest — courthouse visits aren’t usually at the top of anyone’s "fun things to do" list. But every time I’ve come here, the experience has been painless, efficient, and honestly refreshing. The staff at the Tax Assessor’s Office and Mapping Department have always greeted us with a smile and a willingness to help — never once making us feel like a burden or just another task to check off. That attitude makes all the difference, especially when you're walking alongside someone dealing with loss and all the legal hoops that come with it. The building itself is clean — from the floors to the restrooms — and well-organized. And while my job is real estate, supporting clients in every part of the process — including moments like these — is something I truly value. It’s also a treat to get to see fellow realtors, clients, and friends while I’m in town. Tuscaloosa has a warmth that never fails to show up, especially in places like this where kindness and helpful service matter most. Thank you, Tuscaloosa County Courthouse, for making tough days feel a little lighter and always reminding me why I love what I do. #RealEstateWithHeart #ClientAdvocate #TuscaloosaCountyCourthouse #TaxAssessorOffice #SupportingClients #ARCRealty #TogetherRecipeForSuccess #EstateSupport #RealConnections #AliCarsonRealtor #centralalabamarealestate #alabama #tuscaloosa

Coleman Coliseum is a prominent part of Alabama's athletic facilities, located near Sewell-Thomas Stadium and the Mal M. Moore Athletic Facility. It's a popular spot for sports events and concerts, offering an exciting atmosphere to cheer on the Tide. The parking situation can be challenging, but there are options like free parking at The Moodys. Visitors have enjoyed various events at the coliseum, from high school band festivals to thrilling games between Alabama and Auburn.
My 1st time in the coliseum and seeing a college game. Everything was great. Looking forward to coming back. Great environment.

I went to my first Alabama basketball game back in January. I actually enjoyed it more than the football game I went to previously last September. Seating was easy to find. Food was decent, while a little over priced but that's to be expected. Good views and good entertainment!

This is the best environment in college basketball. There’s not another team or school that has this environment and it is a five out of five store. Alabama is probably taking over football and basketball and the fans in this stadium. They’re crazy in this environment and the players are just naturally good roll Tide roll.

On last Thursday, May 8, 2025, I attended the Senior graduation for Hillcrest High School of my younger cousin. The ceremony began promptly at 1pm. Everything went well aside from the parking. The parking was ridiculous!

Coleman Coliseum just radiates Bama pride with an atmosphere that’s absolutely unforgettable.

Not a bad seat in the house. The Djay is rocking, sounds system is amazing, student section is crunk, seats are comfortable and the concessions are reasonably priced

It was a great place for my granddaughter's graduation; just the visitors screaming was too much ...took away some joy of my being there for her. Cheering is one thing, but the pitch of the screaming was nerve-wracking.

Wow! The parking is outrageous at The Coleman Coliseum! We arrived 2 hours early to get a parking spot at the Coliseum. But, the Police parking had it blocked off all around the stadium! So. You. had to find a park off the site. Finally, we called our nephew and he told us to go to the Free Parking Lot at The Moody’s ! Yay! Thank Goodness My Baby/Niece was driving and she was an alumni at the University . She knew exactly where to go to park. And we found a spot on the first level going down, right by the door! But, it was a walk to the Coliseum! WHEW! They need to have some type of bus services for Elderly people, Handicapped, Disabled people , etc! That’s a bit much for them to handle! Bc, once you get there the Coliseum sits along distant from the street. After walking across the campus up the street from the parking lot up to another long walk before you reach the building! PHEW! After finally walking up the steps to the front glass doors, we reached the entrance into a large open area where tables were set up with the Graduation Ceremony Programs. Another tables were set up with bouquets of flowers that you could buy for your Graduate students. It’s was a nice place and the atmosphere was lovely. Of course, everyone was happy about the outcome of their loved ones who was about to graduate from The University! We gathered our programs and then set out to find our seats. We set in a fourth row lower level area near the wall & entrance to go back out. It was quiet and pleasant as people were slowly tricking in to find seats. Our other family arrived and found us also! Which really made it one big surprise & happy family! Inside the Coliseum was very nice, the music was playing softly. The kiosks in the top of the ceiling were displaying the signs, “Legends Are Made” It was Lovely! Finally the Ceremony begin as the Faculty & Staff marched in the take the stage. Then the Graduate Students marched in from the different entrance to take their seats. It was beautiful and in a timely manner! The entire program was lovely as each student received their recognition and degree! As the students marched out we left out also, to find our nephew outside to congratulate him & take pictures! Everyone was so happy and it was a pleasure, wonderful experience! The Coliseum was a beautiful place and accommodating inside indeed! The atmosphere outside & grounds were nice! We had a nice time with our nephew and family! Even the long walk back to the parking lot didn’t matter much with my Lower Back Situation! Thank goodness I wore my back support! Despite it all, it was a happy day! I gave the 4 1/2 bc of the parking situation. “HAPPY GRADUATION JOSH!”

Unique Small Museum. Downstairs has a guided tour of rooms set up similar to how the house was used. Upstairs rooms are set up as exhibits on various subjects of African American history. Guide had incredible and powerful accounts of people involved with the Bloody Tuesday events at First African Baptist Church which is one block over.

Have to say I really wanted this to be good. But it just wasn't. It had some great information, interesting sting facts. But it's a hosted walk around so it's hard to linger. No photos allowed, the host didn't know much (at all) about people or objects in the museum. No stories no interesting facts. Pretty disappointing.
