Little Creek Oyster Farm & Market is a charming harborside cottage that offers shucked oysters and local beers in a cozy setting. The market provides an opportunity to enjoy outdoor seating while savoring the fresh seafood. Visitors can also engage in oyster shucking and delve into the rich history of Long Island's oysters, meeting the farmers and fishermen behind these delectable treats.
The new building has the same charm and feels like home! The food and people are great as always. We stopped in for lunch and I had a solid 18 oysters… I could have easily had another dozen, they are so good. Definitely check it out.

Excellent, clean, and very relaxing atmosphere. Had two dishes and they were simply delish. Oyster are a must try. Plenty of room inside, outside and an upstairs patio. I would recommend to stop in. We will be back next time we are in town.

Decided to stop here for lunch while walking through town and had a happy surprise when we got there due to their Thursday specials. Had a cup of their new england clam chowder which was really nice and tasty. We ordered their delicious family-style yellowtail tuna for the two of us, it came with fresh tortillas, four different tasty sauces, onion, and small baked potatoes that soaked up the tuna flavor and were delicious too. Our waitress was extremely helpful and nice as well. Great atmosphere inside but for such a nice day we sat outside on the deck which was nice. Would definitely recommend!
Andrew W — Google review
Great oysters and ‘OK’ drinks. First, our server was excellent, and the oysters are truly outstanding. Wonderful selection, priced for what you get, in other words, you’re paying for the quality, but it’s truly worth it. We got a selection which included a variety. All excellent! My issue was with the drinks. We also ordered a variety. Some Manhattans, old fashioneds, Negronis, a painkiller. And the drinks were… Good. Not five star by any means, but not three star. They just seem to be lacking something. In every case. Just not really inspired. I even asked for a little bit of extra bitters in my old-fashioned, because it just basically tasted like booze. And I have had quite a few old fashioneds, and you really can balance them correctly, or you can balance them to just be boozy. These were just fairly boozy. The painkiller and Manhattan were equally sort of blah. So I’d come again for the oysters, maybe grab a pint next time, and forego the cocktails. Oh, I almost forgot we had the fluke Aguachile. Perfectly spiced! Again, our server was amazing!

One of the best restaurants on the north fork. Super lowkey. Get a dirty gin martini and the Goodnight Irene anchovies. Dozen oysters.

Owner is a super nice guy. Enjoyed both roasted and raw oysters at their new location 🦪

Oysters were delicious. My girlfriend likes them buttery, I like them briney. The ceviche was incredible. Building itself is beautiful!

Everything about the locally loved gem is just perfect. A tribute to long island’s east end with a coastal laid back atmosphere. Check this place out. You will not regret it.

The East End Seaport Museum and Marine Foundation is situated in the charming Greenport Village, offering a captivating exploration of Long Island's maritime legacy. Visitors can peruse dynamic exhibits, including artifacts from a 1918 ferry sinking, small ship models, and a 750-gallon saltwater aquarium. The museum also features live demonstrations at the blacksmith shop and an exhibit on the historic Long Beach Bar Bug Lighthouse. Additionally, family-friendly cruises to the lighthouse are available regularly.
Wow. Impressive and holds so much history. They bring in the best ships too! They have the best programming. This year is the Ernestina-Morrisey

Very interesting maritime museum on the Greenport waterfront near the last stop on the LIRR’s Ronkonkoma/Greenport line housed in a former LIRR station. Amazing collection of boats and ships and fascinating history about the whaling industry and other seafood harvesting on Long Island Sound

What a little gem! What this museum lacks in size is made up for in character and the presentation by the museum doscent who is a native with great stories to tell. She brings the town and the museum to life. Free but donations are welcome and after her presentation- you want to give. Great quick stop if you have a little time to kill.

We took a tour of Bug Light organized by the seaport museum. A delightful two-hour adventure. Informative and engaging.

Nice quiet small place if your interested in the past fishing industry. Free to get in is always a plus!

Do not bother going to this place. They Canceled a Vendor event and refuse to give back money. Over a 100 vendors are out of all that. Upwards of over 30-50k probably that this museum is pocketing. They refuse to give back any money or credit us with going next year. They are a scam.

What's a nice place to learn about the history of Greenport. The museum staff lady was amazingly friendly and informative. The exhibits were nicely displayed. We had a fun hour walking around and discovering the history of the city. The location is also easily accessible as you walk around the downtown. The blacksmith workshop is also part of the museum and the blacksmith was kind enough to explain the process to us as he worked molding an old horseshoe into a heart shaped gizmo.
Karim P — Google review
This is a small local Seaport Museum with a big heart and great, caring people running it. They have many objects that once were commonplace, and are still fascinating. Like the lenses from lighthouses, charts and maps, nautical instruments, information on marine and terrestrial wildlife. We attended a lecture on “Celestial Navigation” which was entertaining as well as informative. There were refreshments including a fruit platter, cheese and meat board, cookies and baked goods, wine and soda – all well worth the admission even before the value of the lecture. We enjoyed the experience so much, we joined the museum and plan to return for more lectures.

The Railroad Museum of Long Island, established in 1990, is dedicated to preserving the history and artifacts related to the railroads that contributed to the development of Long Island. The museum offers a chance for visitors to explore Long Island's railroad heritage on weekends from Memorial Day weekend to Columbus Day weekend. Situated in a historic 1892 LIRR freight house, the museum showcases various railroad relics and model trains, including an 80-foot turntable once used for steam engines.
This museum is world class and a real Hidden Gem. The displays professionally represent the authenticity of Long Island Railroad history. I need to come back and spend some more time. And it's very photogenic. There are two cabooses and a box car outside the station building.

Brewery
Food & Drink
Greenport Harbor Brewing Company is a renowned brewery with two locations in Peconic and Greenport, inspired by the beauty of the North Fork and Long Island Sound. The brewery reflects the vibrant life and values of the locals through its seasonal beers like Leaf Pile Ale, Chocolate Covered Cherry Pie, and Double Duck Variants 2 & 3. The original cozy tasting room is located in an old Greenport village firehouse while the newer larger locale in Peconic offers outdoor space.
This place was great and so nice to hang out in. The bar is upstairs and they have many beers on tap! The downstairs first floor is set up in a way that makes casual hangouts easy. There is a small stage in the corner I assume for bands. It was raining so we were not able to sit outside but it looked like a nice sidewalk spot. I’d recommend this place to anyone in Greenport!
Tyler P — Google review
This is the original site for Greenport Harbor Brewing and it's rather disorganized. Makes sense that the downstairs used to be the brewing room in the past, but currently a hodgepodge of old sofas, chairs and outdoor patio in the driveway that is a lot of people hanging out. The tasting room upstairs is a cozy pub like area but not nearly enough seating. They have local art in the walls which is cool and the beer is good. They do have gear and a good selection. We would have purchased at the larger site asking the main road, but the merchandise part of the brewery was not open. Good for a quick beer if you go when they are a bit more chill.
Millie K — Google review
Open on Tumbleweed Tuesdays!!! Super chill place, small beer menu but that's OK. I had the coffee chocolate flavor beer which I thought would be too think and sugary, but it was delicious and light, even though it was a really dark beer. Will definitely pass by again!

All the love to Paul, Shannon, and Ethan, and the crew at the Greenport Harbor Brewery! Every time we visit, it feels like hanging out with old friends—fun chats, great energy, and the best vibes. You guys make the brewery more than just a place for amazing beer… you make it our favorite spot to hang. Cheers to you all!
Stephenie P — Google review
When in Greenport this will be the brewery to go too. Walk up to the second floor and get set for a tap of some good brew. Bring your thirst and you will not be disappointed. The service was awesome. Carolyn was more than gracious in describing the differences between all the flavors of the brews that were available. If you are lucky enough to be served by her, it will make your visit that much better. It would be wise to behave one self at this brewery. The old jail house next door could be where you could wind up if you cause some trouble. JK, the jail house is out of business.
Lou C — Google review
We had such a great time with Paul, our bartender! He made us feel so welcome and engaged us in great conversations in the couple of times we visited. We also went to the Peconic location which is awesome, too. Greenport beer is excellent and I'm sad I won't be able to find it at home!!
Donna S — Google review
Alex loves the drinks from here , he gets thee cracker drink I herd!
Aaron M — Google review
The website says it opens at 12! It’s 12:20 and I was standing outside in the heat waiting for it to open. Of course things happen but there was somebody inside who saw myself as well as multiple other groups waiting outside. We wound up leaving. The Peconic location is far more reliable and accommodating!

Claudio's Waterfront in Greenport is a beloved spot for locals and tourists alike, offering a laid-back atmosphere and classic seafood dishes. The restaurant features a terrace where guests can enjoy hearty sandwiches and fresh seafood while taking in the waterfront views. On weekends, live music adds to the vibrant ambiance, making it an ideal choice for a summer evening out.
Brett was a high energy and made us feel welcomed the mintue we were seated. Made ordering fun and comfortable. The food was amazing. Ordered steamed mussles in white wine which tasted great. The oysters were super fresh. The Smash Burger was Well cooked and delicious and the Connecticut lobster roll was not dry or too moist. Just perfect with delicious fries on the side. Places music is amazing and they allow pets I noticed from other tables. Overall 10/10.

We had a fantastic lunch by the water at this beautiful open-air restaurant. The atmosphere was vibrant yet relaxing, with a perfect view of the harbor and a light breeze coming through the open windows. The service was friendly and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. The food was delicious and exceeded our expectations. The clam pasta was creamy and flavourful. The fried seafood plates were crispy and fresh, and the mac and cheese was a big hit with the kids. The lobster salad was also a standout—fresh, crunchy, and generously topped. Everything was served promptly and nicely presented.
Grace B — Google review
Claudio’s Waterfront is the perfect spot if you love fresh seafood and a lively atmosphere. The lobster was incredible, cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The view by the water makes the whole experience even more special, especially at sunset. The staff was welcoming and attentive, making sure everything was just right. Did you know Claudio’s was originally opened in 1870 as Claudio’s Tavern, making it one of the oldest restaurants in the U.S.? It was family-owned by the Claudiaos for nearly 150 years before changing ownership in 2018, and its legacy is still very much alive. If you’re looking for great seafood and a fun vibe, this place is a must-visit.

Fabulous evening at Claudios Waterfront. Our waitress, Careen was phenomenal. We have had her once before. She is a friendly, attentive and knowledgeable server. We also had the chance to speak with the manager, Jeanie. It happened to be her birthday. It was so clear to everyone how much she is respected and loved by her staff. We love the atmosphere at Claudios and come here often. They never disappoint! Thanks for a great evening. Pam and Brett Hanson
Pamela D — Google review
This will be a review of the drinks only. The view is, as others have noted, absolutely gorgeous! And the server/bartender was good; he even snapped these photos of us (and I know this can sometimes be a bit of an issue, because they’re busy doing their job. But he took the photos with good humor). We ordered from the bartender and then went outside. It is the shoulder season, so it was not too busy. As I mentioned, we did not have any food. The three of us had three different drinks. And it felt like a Goldilocks situation. My one friend had a spicy margarita and it was way too strong. My second friend had an espresso martini and it was way too weak, it was mostly Bailey’s. I had a rum punch and it was just right! So in terms of the Goldilocks scenario, I won, because my rum punch was excellent, but one of my friends could barely drink her margarita, it had so much booze. Normally this is a good thing, but we really did want a nice balanced drink. But the bartender, again, was efficient and nice. Perhaps they are accustomed to tourists who really want a lot of booze?
Lockie H — Google review
The food was delicious. Service was great. Our waiter was great. He was very friendly and made our dinner experience. A great time to be at. I will definitely be coming back again.
Vinny M — Google review
I’ve eaten here a few times over the past couple of decades when visiting Greenport. The food is good and the atmosphere is great. This time there were only three of us so we ate at the bar. We each had a bowl of Clam Chowder and shared an order of fish tacos which comes with three so we had one each. The food was delicious. We each had a drink. I had a Palamoa with Casamigos Tequila. Claudio’s isn’t just a place to eat, it’s a Greenport landmark. You will find both locals and tourists eating there. Anytime I’m in Greenport, I’ll have a meal and drink at Claudio’s.
Bill L — Google review
Expectations are high when you pick a place for lunch on a pier next to the waterfront. Claudio's was an average experience with average food. Being from Colorado, I could find a similar place to eat there. Here's my point of view: To start, the clam chowder should have more than a few clams in it and could even use more potatoes as a "filler" but it was mostly cream/liquid. The butternut squash soup was good, creamy, and spices right. The fish and chips were good, a little greasy (to be expected) but the fries, although crispy, had a "oil cross contamination" taste. We also had a Connecticut lobster roll (warm and buttery) that had plenty of lobsta' and the local tap beer was very good.

Eclectic restaurant
The Frisky Oyster is a trendy American bistro with a modern ambiance and a focus on using local ingredients. It's one of the top romantic restaurants in North Fork, offering farm-to-fork fare sourced from local farmers and fishermen. The menu features seasonal and regional dishes, including options like duck hash, shrimp and grits, and vanilla bean French toast for brunch.
Five-Star Review for The Frisky Oyster A true culinary gem! The creative American dishes with a kick of spicy flavor are absolutely incredible, and you can truly taste the fresh, local ingredients. The atmosphere is lively and chic, and the service is always top-notch. A definite must-visit in Greenport!

This place was recommended by friends who go to greenport often. We had to push our reservation from 8:00 till 9:00 unfortunately because of traffic from the city. We arrived on time. The service on the floor staff was very gracious and pleasant. The bartender yelling across the room to the hostess at about 9:25 asking if the 9:00 reservation had arrived was unnecessary. These are conversations that you have quietly when you're in the hospitality business. We enjoyed the oysters Friskafella and the truffle fries Rest of the food was okay. It was hard to find the lobster in the lobster quesadilla and the salsa had browned out avocado in it. The chicken Milanese was overly browned in an unsightly manner but the meat was not dry. It did have a nice watermelon feta salad underneath it. The tomato gratin was moltenly hot and mostly bread crumbs. The frisee salad was very unpleasant looking. It was overdressed with a brownish dressing that made it look very unappetizing. Plus, the pancetta chunks were like pork rocks. They were hard from being overcooked.
Jackie C — Google review
This has been on our list to try! We happened to be in Greenport and were looking for a place for dinner! The online reservations said they were booked with only later availability! I decided to call directly and they had openings! Plus when we got there at 6 there was plenty of open tables so don’t rely on the online reservations as they may say booked and they aren’t. This place is super pretty and has a cool bar vibe plus front seating which opens to the outdoors. We sat towards the back and although the tables for 2 were somewhat close I APPRECIATED that because it wasn’t packed they spaced out the parties of 2. I never understand why they seat parties of 2 right next to each other when there are plenty of other party of 2 tables available. I sometimes will not frequent a restaurant with tight quarters because it’s like you are dining with strangers where they hear everything you say and vice versa, which is so not ideal 😝. But anyway, this place was great and did not disappoint!!! It is on the dark side inside so you may have to use your iPhone flashlight like we did! Our server was super great, knowledgeable and offered recommendations when we asked! We ended up going with the salad (I forget the name but it had bacon), def the Oysters topped with some goodness, the pork chop and the scallops!! And of course a kettle one martini! Overall EVERYTHING was DELISH!!! So happpppy we came here! We skipped on dessert as the hubs wanted to get ice cream in town. When we left about 7:15 ish the place was starting to get busy but still a nice cool chill vibe that definitely wasn’t overwhelming! If you are in the area I definitely recommend you check it out!! I rate this a legit 5 star restaurant in Greenport on the North Fork!! 💖💪🏻💖💪🏻

My husband and I went to dinner for our anniversary and had a lovely time. The food was amazing and our server, Cara, was so attentive and sweet. Our cocktails were well made. I had the chopped vegetable salad and it might be the best salad I’ve ever had! The owner even sent over a complimentary serving of their signature item, oysters friskafella, for our special occasion. We just wanted to say thank you to the gracious staff and for providing such a wonderful experience.

It is essential to make a reservation! It is a good idea to get there a bit early and grab a drink at the bar. Drinks are great and be prepared to pay $24 for a cocktail 🍹 but you won't be disappointed. Chit chat with bar buddies. Great environment. Bartenders and waitresses are all very accommodating. As so many restaurants are no longer bringing bread to the table, this establishment brings warm bread with salted butter. Delicious 😋. It was tough to make a choice for my entree as everything sounded delicious! I chose the shrimp with ramen 🍜. I was really satisfied with my choice. The shrimp were cooked perfectly. The broth and veggies complimented the entire dish. We also ordered the sea scallops. Done perfectly! We ended with two desserts. A pecan pie which was absolutely amazing and a chocolate hazelnut cake. All the desserts are made on premises. They have a pastry chef. We were not rushed. They are one of the restaurants in Greenport that are open late. I am looking forward to going here again !
Tina H — Google review
I’m giving the restaurant a 2-star rating because although the food was good, the server disappeared and never came back - ruining the experience. We’d give it one star, but because the food was delicious, I had to bump it up a star. After getting our drinks, the server never came back to our table and we never saw her in the dining room again. After getting our entrees and finishing eating, the man bussing our table asked if we wanted to see a dessert menu. Once we got that, we sat for 30 minutes without anybody coming to check if we wanted anything. Another server saw us looking around and she brought our check. After waiting another 10 minutes & visibly looking around, that other server finally came back to close out our bill. Horrible experience. For the price we paid, that is not the service we expected. As for the food & drinks… we recommend the Shineapple Express & Pink Panther if you like sweeter drinks. The grilled Caesar salad was OK, but not our favorite. The Lobster Gigli pasta was delicious and so was the Pomegranate BBQ Short Ribs (sweet/fruity BBQ flavor).
Jesse H — Google review
I'm not sure why there have been so many recent negative results for The Frisky Oyster. I actually think that Frisky was better than another more highly rated restaurant in town. The atmosphere is moody and not sterile. The service is attentive and also friendly. Our food was very delicious and inventive. Clearly a nice restaurant and definitely recommend this for a special occasion or just a great dinner.

First and South Restaurant & Bar is a charming bistro housed in a historic building at the heart of Greenport, NY. The restaurant offers seasonal New American cuisine, with a particular emphasis on brunch. Its cozy ambiance is complemented by artful chalkboard murals that add to the overall charm. Additionally, First and South is known for being dog-friendly, offering plenty of covered and protected outdoor seating where guests can dine with their furry companions.
My wife and I came here for lunch and had an outstanding experience. I ordered the New England clam chowder, and it was easily one of the best I’ve had—loaded with clams and perfectly balanced without being overly creamy. My wife had the shrimp and lobster sliders, which were fresh, flavorful, and paired perfectly with her Bloody Mary. But the real standout? The hand-cut fries—crispy, golden, and absolutely delicious! Despite the place being busy, the service was attentive and friendly, making the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in town. Highly recommend!
Jason F — Google review
We found First & South to be just okay— the atmosphere was nice and we were seated right away, but after reading so many positive reviews, we were a bit disappointed by our dishes. We ordered the first fries as an appetizer, and the roast chicken, burger, lemon pepper shrimp, and gluten free mac and cheese as entrees. As a table, we agreed we enjoyed our meals, but they felt a bit overpriced. The lemon pepper shrimp was mainly pasta and lacked very much shrimp, which was misleading the menu description. Everything about this place is so amazing. I can’t wait to go back. What we got: Burrata with confit tomato’s, (nut free) basil pesto with a side of crostini - 10/10. The burrata was creamy and delicious. The pesto was vibrant. The confit was sweet but savory adding a lovely touch. A Really Good Burger - it really was a really good burger. The patty was hearty and cooked to perfections. I added cheese and bacon. The bacon was THICK and delicious, definitely worth the extra money. First Fries - incredible skin on 3 times blanched fries. You’re able to add on sauces for dipping which is such a nice touch. We got the garlic aioli which was really acidic forward, truffle aioli which was divine with the right about of truffle, and the scallion remoulade which quickly became my fave dip after dip. Lemonade - it has the perfect balance of sweet but tartness. I could imagine having it on a hot day as a refreshing beverage. Overall, I highly recommend!!

My sister and I’s waiter Clint was the best. Kind, cool and funny. We had the best conversations about recommendations for food on the menu and places to go visit around town while visiting, even after the restaurant was closing down for the night. The food and drinks were delicious. I would highly suggest visiting.

Every time I have been to First & South, I enjoy a fantastic meal…and every time the experience gets even better than before. I feel as if I stumbled upon this gem while on vacation in 2012, and every few years I go back and take new people with me. Wonderfully creative approachable food, great energy, seamless service, and the impression that your evening is in great hands. What an incredible experience we had today at First and South! It was our first visit, and certainly won’t be the last, thanks to some amazing service by Patrick, great drinks and delicious food! Highly recommend the miso salmon, as well as the poke bowl! What initially brought us there was the fact that they’re dog friendly outside and in the bar area (I think I have that correct…) but aside from that, it’s a really cute spot with killer drinks and phenomenal food. Nuff said, don’t take my word for it. We made a reservation on Resy and got right in. Do the right thing and plan ahead, especially on busy weekends (we went on Memorial Day and still no wait to sit with our reservation). This is literally all we need when we go out to Greenport with our dog and we’ll definitely be a frequent stop!

Inlet Pond County Park, nestled in Greenport, offers a serene escape with its beautiful hiking trails leading to the tranquil Inlet Pond and a nearby beach. The extensive park features well-marked trails that wind through scrubby forest habitats, perfect for bird watching. A butterfly garden adds to the charm with vibrant butterflies of all colors. Visitors can enjoy easy-to-navigate paths and stunning views, making it a must-visit for wildlife and hiking enthusiasts.
Beautiful North Fork county park with variety of trails and landscapes from woods to shore trails to beach to cliffs. Don’t let the scare of ticks to bypass this gem (wear long pants sprayed with Permethrin). Beach and cliff trails are the most picturesque. Quality of the beach is far superior to many beachfront hotels/resorts in Greenport. Inlet Pond was overgrown with algae at the time of my visit. Separate shoutout to North Fork Audubon for maintaining the trails in good state and well-marked.

really nice park; dogs are allowed on leash. trails are generally well marked, but pay attention. some beach access, tho be careful to stay on the public property. lots of signs about ticks, so come prepared. parking limited but not too bad.

It's a nice little walk. Very short. Don't recommend for anyone with walking issues. Lots of roots and narrow passages. But great if you stay in front area.

You pull into what looks like a private, red house, and then you can head into the woods from several path options. Cannot recommend this place enough, we went on a bright fall day and didn't see another soul. Gorgeous light hike through the canopy and then we came out on a little cliff overlooking the water, we didn't even continue down to the beach because it was so stunning up there at sunset. What a treasure for the locals!
K C — Google review
I really liked this park, and walking along the beach was a very nice experience. What I didn't like was that on the beach we met a resident of the area who insulted some people who were fishing on the beach and even treated them. of physically attacking them, telling them that they had to leave and that they could not fish in that place because it was private, when in truth it is not, and when speaking with those people, they told me that this man usually does these things

Very scenic and beautiful trails for a relaxing hike. Always nice to come in the early fall to avoid ticks. The beach is very nice with great sunsets.

Gorgeous location, well marked trail, but I just pulled so many ticks off my dogs I lost count after 14. Avoid in the warmer months to avoid the ticks and spider webs across the trails.

Nestled in the charming town of Greenport, New York, 1943 Pizza Bar is a delightful eatery that captures the essence of Italian cuisine. This cozy spot specializes in mouthwatering brick-oven pizzas and offers a variety of fresh salads and other delectable Italian dishes. With its relaxed atmosphere, it's the perfect place to unwind after exploring the historic streets of Greenport.
Family weekend getaway could not have started off with a better feeling than a thin crust pizza filled with delicious flavors of pesto and roasted mushrooms over a classic margarita. The ambiance and the outdoor vibe is an added bonus. If you’re out in Greenport you must visit and enjoy this delicious pizza. The salads; arugula and Caesars are both delicious additions.

Cute intimate space with excellent pizza! I’m the WORST with remembering to take pics, so this is our leftover (to go) white pizza with meatballs and mushrooms. One pie is six nice sized slices and plenty to share with a friend!

By far the best pizza we’ve had in a while across LI. Sat outside on patio on a weeks day, service was adequate but food was top notch. Hands down the best most crispy think crust imaginable. The olives were phenomenal especially bc of the variation in sizes and flavor plus the olive oil was super fresh. Will def go again! Wish they had a full bar. There are nearby bars, surely open on weekends. Prob a great weekend hang out. Yum! 😋

My wife and now 2 year old son have been coming here for the last 3 years. Four, five, six ??? times a year. Best wood fired pizza you will find outside of perhaps Naples (and even then it would be a tough one). The appetizers and salads are always delicious as well. They have a very efficient system for waiting for a table, we typically just add ourselves to the list and then take a stroll down Main/Front St. Before you know it your table is ready! Atmosphere is always friendly and staff always make us feel welcome, even when our son is remodeling the place. Thank you!

NSXPRO_GAMER — Google review
I had an absolutely amazing experience at 1943. The ambiance was fantastic, and the food was out of this world. The Harbor ale beer had a whisper of ocean brine, balanced and lovely, pairing wonderfully with the pizza. It had a medium hoppy flavor that was lightly sweet. The red sauce ricotta, noonas meatballs, onions, and mozzarella pizza was perfection. It was just saucy enough, just cheesy enough, with a thin and crispy crust. The cheese pull was strong, and the crust was light, fluffy, and crispy. The red sauce was full of flavor. The meatballs, sliced like pepperoni, were savory, and the onions added a wonderful touch. The ricotta cheese was like mashed potatoes, simply amazing. The Margarita pizza was another delight. The tomatoes were fantastic, with the added extras of potatoes and onions balancing the tomatoes' acidity and sweetness. The bright herbal garlic goodness with the soft starchy added mashed potato was a revelation. The crust was so good, you must make sure to eat it. Note that the Margarita pizza does not come with onions and mashed potatoes as standard, we added those as extras. Lastly, the outdoor setting on the patio was private and secluded from the sidewalk, great for dog lovers. The indoor setting had a big oven in the middle, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The service was wonderful, kind, and generous, embodying the best of Long Island hospitality. We had such an incredible experience that we came back again the same day. I highly recommend 1943 for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience.

The soothing sound of lapping water adds to the tranquil atmosphere, although there may be some odor from seaweed. While swimming in rocky waters is possible for experienced swimmers, it's unclear if swimming is permitted.
Beautiful beach. Private to the town only. A lot of steps lol. It's a bit cold and in the shadows in the later afternoon so go earlier if you want sun.

The North Shore is just absolutely beautiful. 67 Steps is referring to the number of steps you need to go down to get to the sand. This beach is in a residential area. Parking is limited. Signs do indicate that a permit is required. Plenty of boulders to sit on while you wait for that sunset 😍. This beach is the Long Island Sound. If you don't have a parking sticker, you can walk if you are staying locally or you can ride your bike. There are no facilities here. Great spot to swim. You can pack a picnic. You can just sit and listen. It's a serene place.

I've been frequenting Drossos' since the 80's when i was barely old enough to get into the club that used to be on the property. Mini-golf, now, with my kids is something we do several times during the season...they have seating so the adults can hang out while the kids play. The ice cream is so good and you can grab a bite if you want more than dessert. While I've never stayed in their cabins, they have been around for over 50 years, so they must be doing something right! The owner is very sweet. Plenty of parking too. Highly recommended as a summer activity!!

we decided to visit this seemingly fine establishment and to our dismay it became a disastrous experience. first of all, this establishment was cash only in 2022 (who’s cash only in this decade?!!), we had to use the atm which did not work in the slightest and caused my 7 year old autistic cousin to have an episode and inflict harm on himself and others. we then proceeded to hand our free game card to the workers, and they replied with “we don’t accept these anymore”. this was completely blindsiding and outrageous as we were relying on these cards to play. we eventually got enough money and played golf but this child on the hole in front of us threw up on the green and they didn’t clean it for the entirety of our stay. i am completely outraged and horrified at this experience. overall good experience

This was such a nice, comfortable spot and friendly with several staple brunch foods but with a more international take on several dishes. They also had an amazing and healthy drink menu. I especially enjoyed their candied bacon and saffron butter scone! The only cons were that service was a bit slow and it was difficult to accommodate a large party size but we did stop by, without reservation, at a prime Saturday time slot. I would definitely recommend and return!

I struggle a bit to write about this establishment. Greenport is a very busy place during the summer season. I went here in March which is the off season. The place was empty. The booth was very small. The booth was not a standard size. In general everything we ordered was just ok. The staff was attentive.
Tina H — Google review
Our bacon was undercooked, when we asked for it to be cooked more it was clearly dumped in fryer and turned into pork grinds. The overall vibe is that they don’t seem to care. I got American cheese on my eggs and the color of this cheese was the same yellow as my scrambled eggs, which is a food mystery even for American cheese. My husband got french toast and he said it was mediocre at best. My coffer was disappointing, and as I sat in the tiny booth observing locals, everyone had 711 coffee in hand, so I am thinking they must have the best coffee in town, which tells you all you need to know about coffee game in town.
Rebecca L — Google review
Stopped in for a classic BLT (Turkey ) with fries with a cup of coffee — everything hit the spot. The food came out hot, bacon was nice and crispy, and the coffee was fresh and strong. A good place to get a reasonably priced meal that gives you a lot for your money. The food is excellent, but the service is not the best. The wait staff is slow to take your order, and I didn’t get my drink until after my food had arrived. Same with utensils - had to ask for them when the food came out. Not sure if this was just a one off or if this is just who works there. But the food was delicious with generous portions, so that made up for some service issues. Another thing to watch out for is that while they accept credit card payments, gratuities can only be made in cash - a fact they do not advertise on the door, only at the register, so you’re not likely to learn this until it’s too late. And they charge you a service fee if you pay with a credit card - all things that negatively affected my server’s tip. The food is worth the visit, but they should improve their service.

Exceptional cafe in Greenport! Such a warm, welcoming and chill/relaxing vibe. Staff so kind, patient and helpful. We ordered the iced mochas and the chocolate croissants and they were all fresh and delicious. This is one of my favorite places, full stop. It is my favorite coffee house and it’s located in my favorite place, Greenport. It is an absolute gem and a must stop if you are anywhere near the North Fork. I have been going here for years, if not more than a decade. I love how the offerings have grown, while quality has remained high. The coffee is roasted in house, smells amazing, and taste awesome, although my favorite drink will always be the hot chocolate. They also have food, gelato, pastries, and now serve cocktails. I cannot wait to give the cocktails a try. You will also struggle to find a place with nicer employees. Put everything together and you have a staple on Long Island and a place New Yorker’s should be proud of.
Nick C — Google review
Coffee was so bitter it was tough to drink — surprising given the prices. The food wasn’t much better; think “regional airport café” energy. The croissant could double as packing material, and the matcha tasted like pond water. No wonder it is dead empty. Update: I went back this weekend hoping things had turned around, but sadly it was more of the same. The coffee was still overly bitter, and the food had that same lifeless, cafeteria feel. The croissant was especially disappointing; heavy, dry, and more like a dinner roll in denial than anything freshly baked. I’ve been coming here for years, and it’s hard to watch what was once a true local gem lose its way under the new ownership. I even saw someone ask for a refund and get refused, so I didn’t bother. After reading the owner’s replies, it all just sounds like empty words. It’s sad to see what used to be a great spot lose its soul.
Lorraine L — Google review
I love dark roasted coffee, and I haven’t found anything else quite like Aldo’s. About as bold and rich as you can get without being burnt, and still has a lot of unique character. Something that’s almost impossible to do with mass produced coffee typically found in coffee shops. I order their beans for my home espresso maker, but also really enjoy getting a coffee and delicious, buttery scone in the store too!
Samuel S — Google review
If you are looking for truly great coffee and otherwise just a lovely experience I highly recommend you take a trip to Aldo’s. I moved to Greenport several years ago and Aldo’s continues to be a staple in our daily routine. Dog friendly. Baby friendly. Iced Mocha is unmatched. You can also watch them roast coffee which of course adds a unique experience to your coffee stop. Views of the park and water. Anyway, you will thank me. Enjoy.

Our waitresses were Abbi & Aisling, they didn't miss a beat, service was excellent and they knew the menu very well, which the food was amazing and before we could ask the young ladies, there it was or done. Service & food is just excellent. Thanks, guys, for giving us a great night. Ohh! & the French fries are soooo good!! 😋

Loved our brunch here! We were able to sit upstairs with our pups, the staff were all extremely nice and attentive, and every dish we ordered was delicious. Highly recommend!

Had a delicious dinner here at the beginning of summer. Would recommend the lobster roll. Everything was delicious and enjoyed the upstairs seating outdoors. Fun place for a drink at night

Seafood restaurant in downtown Greenport. Atmosphere is very impressive, but unfortunately doesn’t make up for the somewhat disappointing food; especially considering the price (way too high). It’s worth a visit for drinks (which are great), but I would avoid ordering any meaningful amount of food.

Anker is always on point. Reserve in advance for a spot on the upstairs balcony to see sunset over the water. Paella is full of yummy seafood and meats and every single dish was just on point. Don’t miss the fish and chips, for which they use sea bass.

I was so excited to try this place on vacation and wow was it such a!disappointment. The upstairs view is lovely but the food is so sub par it’s not worth the view or the money. My steak came with two edible bites it was so fatty. The portion of the lobster roll my husband got was so small for the price. Overall disappointing dinner for $250.. have an app and leave to go somewhere else for a good meal.

This location has seen quite a few flips over the years but I have to say this is one of the better ones. Not just serving meals and cocktails you are also able to purchase freshly caught fish to cook on your own. The rooftop are has also been nicely updated with a fresh cost of paint and clean seating. The oysters and wine is a nice mix of local and imported and the cocktails are cute mixes. Overall it was priced decently and the service was friendly. I can see the place getting too busy due to its size but it was perfect for afternoon cocktails after shopping greenport.
Zachary M — Google review
I recently had lunch at Anker over the Memorial Day weekend and sat in the outdoor area upstairs. The weather was perfect too! The staff at Anker were very welcoming and warm. I had the option to order from the main menu and the brunch menu which was nice. I ended up getting the Anker Fish and Chips which definitely hit the spot. I'll definitely come back here and try out some of the other items on the menu. The lobster roll caught my eye. 👀 🦞

Brix & Rye, located at 308A Main St. in Greenport, NY, is a must-visit spot for those seeking a fantastic night out. The place offers an ideal blend of a relaxed yet lively atmosphere where you can enjoy top-notch drinks and delectable pizza with friends. The bar provides an upscale experience in a laid-back setting, serving signature cocktails, craft beer, and mouthwatering pizzas like the mushroom and truffle oil with ricotta.
Excellent pizza, drinks, and service. We arrived around 6:15 on a Saturday and had to wait around 40 min for a table but we could leave a number and wait for a text so we walked around the town for a bit. Our waiter was very friendly and everything came out pretty quick. We had a burrata and roasted broccolini app that was delicious. The drinks menu was clearly meticulously crafted and I can say they were the best cocktails I’ve had on Long Island. They’re true craft cocktails with respect for the spirits and subtle layering of flavors. Recommend the felonious monk and the clarified milk. Clams casino pizza was delicious. Fair pricing especially for the level at which everything is executed.
Esdras H — Google review
Drinks are always very good here. The bartender is a mixologist so the drinks are above average. Price is good considering we get a crappy drink down the street at Claudio's in a plastic cup for a higher price. We've had the pizza and meatballs in the past and they were very good.
Barbara S — Google review
My favorite place to hit in greenport. The bartender (mixologist), Evan, is so great at making drinks and conversation. My boyfriend and I love it here. Their pizzas are phenomenal and their drinks are even better. The dark vibe is interesting too. Definitely a place to check out.
Hannah E — Google review
We loved Brix & Rye! We came to this cocktail bar on a recommendation— and it didn’t disappoint! The building is very unassuming from the outside (we almost thought it was closed) but when we went inside we found a very dimly lit but inviting bar! The bartenders were very attentive and even made a custom drink for us when we couldn’t decide what we wanted. Would definitely visit again!
Rose K — Google review
The best cocktail bar on Long Island by a country mile. Evan is an expert host and bartender. The pizza is fantastic. Lighting perfect. I don’t care if you live in Idaho, its worth the drive.
Emily A — Google review
Everything here is fantastic. We started with the cocktails, of course, which were smooth, complex, interesting, *and* delicious and refreshing. We built our own pizza which stood toe-to-toe with some of the best places in NYC, the sauce being the standout. And we wrapped up with a mint chocolate chip ice cream sandwich with a buttery but not underdone and somehow also cold cookie stuffed generously but smartly with velvety ice cream. Cannot recommend enough.
Julian — Google review
We had the best experience at Brix & Rye for our weekend stay in Greenport. Evan runs a really special bar with incredible cocktails and service. We’ll be back! (I’ve never left a google review before but felt compelled to share because of how great it was!)

Very nice place. We came in from out of town with 7 people and they just made room for us even though the place is very small, very accommodating. David was a great waitor drinks were amazing and the pizza was too! Loved really everything, they even have a very cute outdoor section and takeout area that's separate. Wish I lived locally cause I would definitely frequent there, I recommend

Greenport Village Blacksmith is a historical site modeled after a 1870s building where visitors can witness a real blacksmith at work. The blacksmith, Thomas Barry, uses 20th-century tools for live demonstrations, offering an authentic experience of unique craftsmanship. Visitors can learn about the importance of smithing to Greenport and hear great stories from the blacksmith himself. He is friendly and patient with kids, answering questions and guiding them through the process.
Tom was amazing in giving history on the last blacksmith in that area of Greenport! He made me a beautiful iron shaped heart horseshoe! An unforgettable experience I would definitely recommend coming here!
Kiara Y — Google review
Great little bit of history. The blacksmith had great stories of the original owner, and how important smithing was to the town of Greenport. Being able to see it up close was a real blast, and the smith was pretty funny. He was telling us the importance of letting things fall. You don't want to grab a 900 degree bit of metal. Unfortunately, his wife doesn't like that he does this at home now as well. Lol. Very fun, and totally worth the cost of a small donation. He also has small metal work pieces for sale. Stop and and check it out.
Ryan K — Google review
An amazing experience. Tom the blacksmith gave us a great history lesson about smithing and the building and smithed a bottle opener while we watched. He put our family name on it which made for a unique and personal souvenir. We purchased that and a horseshoe that had been resmithed into a heart. If you’re in town you must stop in to learn and buy a quality souvenir!

This is FANTASTIC place to visit. It’s free and the blacksmith gives a a charming, informative talk as he works. A great place to by an affordable, hand made piece of art.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE! Took my special needs brother here and Tom made the experience one we will never forget. After immediately noticing my brother, Tom asked for his name and really personalized the experience for us. He explained everything step by step and made my brother feel like he was part of the process. We ended up staying for two presentations (my brother could have stayed there all day) and he does not devote that much attention to anything. Just really such a warm environment and you can tell Tom is not only dedicated to the craft but also to making sure his guests leave feeling enlightened. I really can't say enough positive things and I hope Greenport knows how amazing their local blacksmith is! Thank you thank you thank you.

Absolutely a must stop spot on your tour of Greenport. This man is such a nice guy ! Even gave us recommendations on where to eat lol and thank god I listened to him since where we ended up eating was literally the best place in along time ! (Anchors), this man is a retired teacher who was hired for this position! He’s really good at it and a funny guy ! Merchandise is sold here. You can get your initial in the form of a horseshoe ! I loved my experience here !

Long Island North Fork Wine Tours was simply amazing! From the first to last email, they were prompt, courteous, and professional. They took care of everything and laid out an itinerary that was perfect for my group. We added an additional pickup in the city, before picking up the birthday girl out in Long Island, and our driver was amazing. Diego was on time and took excellent care of us, making sure we got around safely and in a timely manner, but never feeling rushed. He even played photographer for us throughout the day:) I highly recommend Long Island North Fork Wine Tours, and cant wait to use their services again in the future!

This was a fantastic experience. Our driver Alex was superb. Not only did she take us where we wanted to go, she made alternative suggestions along the way. She went out of her way to find us menus in the event we wanted food, and she took pictures (many choices) everywhere we went. The price was better than other companies which will bring us back again and again. If the North Fork is on your visit list, don’t miss working with this group. They truly deliver.

We had such an amazing day with north fork wine tours. They made the whole process so simple and easy, worked with me when having to change the head count, answered all my questions. Tom was our bus driver and he was phenomenal. Arrived early , checked us into the wineries and had everything we needed on the bus. Cannot wait to book a tour with them again!

We had a great experience with Long Island North Fork Wine Tours! We worked with them to plan a wine tour for my mother's 65th birthday. The team was super responsive and answered my many questions to help make the day perfect. They took care of everything, transportation, food and the tastings, all we had to do was show up. The bus was clean and stocked with water. Our driver was amazing - it was a smooth ride, we made great time and he was super flexible and accommodating. He also restocked/cleaned the bus bathroom in between stops. We had a great time and would definitely partner with Long Island North Fork Wine Tours again!

We were looking to do something for my girlfriend’s birthday and stumbled across the wine tour idea. We reached out to a few companies but NFWT was by far the easiest to work with. We all stated what a great experience it was and I personally appreciated how easy it was to organize. Right from the very first email and phone call the customer service was excellent. Our driver the day of the tour was also truly exceptional and very accommodating. He was so easy to work with and made our experience that much better. This was an awesome overall experience and was so fun for all in attendance. I really mean it when I say… if you are interested in doing a Long Island wine tour, you have to use this company! Easily a 5/5 experience.
James D — Google review
I can't recommend Long Island North Fork Wine Tours enough! From the moment I reached out, they were incredibly responsive replying quickly to emails and making everything super easy. I was planning a birthday celebration last minute and didn’t have the time to organize an itinerary. But no worries at all! The team handled everything for me. They put together a perfect plan, and all I had to do was choose from the options they gave me. The level of professionalism was top-notch throughout the entire process. The coordination was seamless, and it really felt like they wanted to make my day special. I was able to play the music I liked in the vehicle, which added a personal touch to the experience. Our driver, Katherine, was absolutely amazing. She was so much fun and really made our first wine tour experience unforgettable! Made us feel comfortable since it was also our first time in the area. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and kept the energy up throughout the day. It felt like having a friend show us around, which made the whole trip even more enjoyable. The customer service was outstanding, both in person and through email and phone calls. Everyone was kind, sweet, and genuinely wanted to make sure we had the best time possible. They were also really flexible and willing to work with our needs, which made everything run smoothly. This experience was so great that we’ve decided to make it a family tradition and I’ll definitely be recommending Long Island North Fork Wine Tours to all my friends and family. If you’re looking for a hassle-free, fun, and memorable wine tour, this is the team you can trust. Can’t wait to be back!

Thank you, North Fork Wine Tours, for making my sister’s bachelorette so memorable! The staff was helpful from start to finish. Mike coordinated all of our stops and kept in touch throughout the planning, while John, our driver for the day, went above and beyond by taking photos and making sure we were set up at each winery. Because of them, I was able to fully enjoy the day without stressing about the details. I would highly recommend North Fork Wine Tours to anyone, and I’m already looking forward to booking another tour with them!

The best chocolate on the East End. Unique gifts. I manage to find something every time i come into the shop. Beautiful displays. Back room accessories are exceptional and affordable. The front yard is well landscaped without a lawn, instead annual flowers to provide a continuously changing streetscape. Angela knows presentation that speaks of beauty whether in the home or on the person and that’s what will bring a smile and wonderment. Oct. 13. Just visited shop and owner is retiring. She’s been a fixture in Greenport for over 25 years. Greenport is changing and not for the better. Instead of a quaint village it’s being Hamptonized. Ugh.

The Mitchell Park Antique Carousel in Greenport is a charming and nostalgic attraction that has been delighting visitors for years. Built in 1920 by the Herschell-Spillman Company, this antique carousel features beautifully painted horses and even offers benches for those who prefer them. The old-time carnival music adds to the nostalgic atmosphere as it spins around. Located on the waterfront, it provides a picturesque view while being conveniently close to shops and restaurants.
Nice antique carousel located along the shoreline. Yes, for old time sakes we need to at least ride it one time after enjoying a delicious lunch at one of the waterfront dock restaurants. It was a wonderful time with no waiting to catch a spin on this unique carousel and a chance to capture your childhood once again. A bonus for those of you like to shop there are plenty of shops located nearby.
Thomas B — Google review
We love visiting the carousel! It's affordable. Credit card only. Be prepared that there are two lines. One to purchase a tickets, and the other for ticket holders to ride. Everything moves pretty fast. Such a great place to visit!
Amanda E — Google review
To say I’m mad as a complete understatement. I thought that when I was getting on this carousel, I would be able to have a fun and enjoyable ride with no consequences. The ride itself was cranky and bouncy, making me feel physically sick and extremely uncomfortable. The workers were rude and had extreme attitude. When I hopped off of my awful ride, I thought the treachery would be over. But little did I know this was just a start. When I left, I noticed a black residue all over my expensive pants. If this ride is targeted towards kids, I don’t know why it’s not clean and sanitary. This ride ruined mine and my friends clothes, and we are all extremely disappointed as the workers were so rude about the situation. Now we are walking around the town all disgusting and dirty because these people can’t do their job right. If you have new clothes that you want to turn black, this is the perfect place for you to go!
Katelyn G — Google review
Another summer and another trip to this little slice of a time-slip, when kids didn't have mobile phones and Nintendo Switches to entertain themselves. A beautiful and nostalgic carousel for kids of all ages. Adults can English it just as much as the children do. $2.50 a ride that lasts about five minutes. Located in the waterfront area of Greenport and steps away from stores, restaurants, and shops. Recommended!
Shingo I — Google review
I AM UPDATING THIS 5 MINUTES LATER because your staff just yelled at everyone on the line. You have a very rude staff who dont understand their clients are little kids who have trouble containing their excitment. I am extremely disappointed in the experience we had and hate that a long family tradition was ruined by your staff who cannot handle the stress of excited 5 year olds. Whats up with the carousel this summer? Been coming for 11 years and always a fun easy time. This time around its been a hassle. Letting on like 10 people at a time. Staff is argumentative. Unpleasant experience but have loved it for years. You guys need a personality upgrade. Stop hiring grumps to work with kids and families
Andrew G — Google review
The staff is pretty grumpy here. Just know they load 5 riders at a time. You have to buy your ticket before you get in line. Most visitors are a little frustrated because it’s the slowest line for a carousel they’ve ever encountered, and general confusion amongst the people waiting. The ride starts every 5 minutes. So if you arrive and there are 20 people in front of you it’s at least 20 minutes of waiting. I gather the antique carousel is not considered robust enough to fill the seats. Seems part of the next restoration should be to allow more than 10% capacity. At the exit there is a sharp steel bar 5’ 11” across the exit. Was looking down at my kid and walked into it. Some foam or rubber would be good there.
Leo F — Google review
A lovely old fashion carousel located in the quaint town of Greenport. The ride is longer than most, offers a chance at the gold ring (free ride) and is a great deal at 15 tickets for $30. The seaport background adds to it's appeal, and of course the kids love it!
Karen L — Google review
Just took a trip to Greenport and went on the carousel three nights in a row with my 2.5 year old. The first two nights were great. The third night was a little weird. There was a huge line and they were only letting on like 10 people at a time, the carousel was only at 1/4th capacity or so. I also asked if my son could ride twice in a row and they said we had to get off and wait in line again, which for a 2.5 year old is really difficult. 4/5 stars.

Custer Institute and Observatory, located in Southold, NY, is Long Island's oldest public observatory. It offers Saturday tours where visitors can use high-tech equipment to gaze at the stars and learn about astronomy through exhibits and education. The observatory opens its doors for free to the public on Saturday nights with friendly volunteers guiding guests to view celestial wonders through their large telescope.
I love this place. During the first time we came, around November, it was a full moon and we were told that conditions weren't so optimal. However, there were a lot of people out and the place was hopping. There were stargazers who had set up their own telescopes on the lawn, the domes were manned, and monitors were displaying what they were focused on with such amazing views. We went inside and queued up to be able to go upstairs to the big telescope (they bring up 15 people at a time), and the waiting area had a piano player that provided a lovely ambiance. There were a couple of staff members speaking and answering questions, and really learned quite a bit from them. Here's where it gets even better...it's run by volunteers and is free. There is no other place like it. They operate on donations from visitors, and dues from those who decide to become members. We fell in love with the experience that night and became members ourselves. I even had my girlfriend become a volunteer 😁 We returned on 12/21 for the Winter Solstice where they had a lecturer out front on with a laser pointer and he gave a talk about what was visible in the night sky. Bonus: it was completely dark. No moonlight. They served coffee, tea, hot cocoa, desserts and cookies from Erica's, and there was quite a crowd that night despite it being 19 degrees out. No piano this time, but a very good guitar player provided lovely music. I don't know what it is about this location, but the stars seem much clearer, like they want to come out and show off. Spent quite a bit of time at the big scope, got to see Jupiter and its moons, Orion's Nebula, Mars, it's always a fantastic time here if you're into stargazing. If you want to do something off the beaten path on a Saturday night, this is the place. In my photos, you'll see the difference from when there was a full moon, and the night of the Winter Solstice.

For $5 Dollars you get to learn about the universe. How to figure out North and South. You take a moment and see how big and small the world is. Great for all ages. Recommend a good leaning chair or blanket bug spray, and Red lights. Learned that red lights are easier on the eyes for night time viewing.

The observatory is small so they only take 15 people at a time which takes about 15-20 minutes per group. Ok to experience once but a little disappointed at the view of Mars. Went into observatory dome and looked through telescope but the view of Mars was just about as good a view as I got through my binoculars and it was a fairly clear night. Open Saturdays year round from 7-midnight. Worth a try. Also, it's not heated so if it's cold, dress appropriately.

We went on an open night not knowing what to expect. Once we walked in the front door we were greeted by the friendly and knowledgeable volunteers. It was a cool experience walking up the stairs to the observatory where volunteers helped locate moons and planets to look at through the telescope. Very glad I visited!

I have been to this observatory countless times. Best weekend getaway for I’m NYC. I can’t wait to go back. The staff is knowledgeable and very friendly.

Really not for kids under 10. Took 6 kids 6 and under and waited 1.5 hours. While in the end, the kids were excited, it wasn't a great experience for the damily. If the weather is good , there is a long wait to look at any telescope, and especially to go upstairs. You wait in the room and hope to get a seat. In the room, there is no enterainment. Only about 12-15 people can go up at a time. It has two small flights of stairs that are steep. Once you reach the top you sit again to wait to view thru the telescope for about 10 seconds. After you view that telescope you are welcome to look at the others outside but those are already occupied by other patrons that have been waiting. It is very dark to preserve your night vision but makes it challenging for keeping track of little kids.

Restaurant
Alpina is a cozy restaurant-wine bar in Greenport, owned by Christoph Mueller from Switzerland. The menu features Swiss and northern Italian cuisine, including beef tartare made with Piedmontese breed meat, housemade Swiss sausage, tagliatelle with duck confit ragu, and Wiener schnitzel. The restaurant also offers a selection of Spuntini like Marinated Caselvetrano Olives or Chicken Liver Pate with Jam.
We made a reservation at this place thinking we wanted to try the pasta based on a past review. Turns out, they didn’t have that pasta and we decided to try Wiener schnitzel for the first time. What a treat! It was so delicious and enough for two. We also enjoyed the bread basket with coriander-sunflower butter and olive oil/balsamic vinegar. Yummy! We also had a side of pancetta savory spätzli - which pairs really well with our entree. The restaurant is cozy with Swiss flair. Our server was very friendly and attentive. Thank you for an amazing time!

This place is such a Greenport gem. It’s not so common to find authentic Swiss food, especially Swiss-Italian food in the states. Definitely stop here if you’re in town. The cocktails are also great.

First night in town dinner, pleasant surprise. Food was excellent and so was our server who was serving, hosting and and bartending solo. Look forward to returning.

The food, vibe and service were all A+ at Alpina. Everything we tried from the Swiss beer, to the entrees to the desserts was excellent. Extremely fresh food, kind and attentive staff and very cool and cozy atmosphere inside. Already can’t wait to go back!

We ate there tonight ! Food so so . Basically airplane food portions . The waitress was nice but to get drinks 20 plus min . Then the bartender was the server and she was slow and lazy and after our entrees came out and there was basically no meat included in the portion I'm talking like 4 tiny cubes for a entire portion at $48 we ordered bread to fix the issue and she said that after 20 min of waiting for bread sorry we are busy and bread will take another 20 min . This place sucks and food isn't Swiss it's basically appetizers that arent good . The table next to us waited over 30 for the bill they had drinks and bread and their food never came . Better restaurant's in area . Dont go

Loved this place! Beautiful bar, interesting menu, great food, fantastic drinks and our server Nick was excellent! The Weiner Schnitzel and Duck Pappardelle were outstanding as well as the drink "Not Your Grandma's Limoncello"! We will definitely come back!

AMAZING!!! 💖👏🏻💖 This place is SOOOO GOOD!!! The food is unique, different AND DELISH!!! Being new to the North Fork I had heard of this place but had never gone. Last weekend we went to the 2024 Chili cook off at the Greenport Brewery and Alpina was there! Their chili was SOOO GOOOOD, that my hunnnies Jeff and I knew we had to make a stop at their restaurant in Greenport first chance we got!! We just went this past Saturday for brunch and OMG~~ the choices, the flavors AND the ambience so warm and inviting!!! You won’t find your typical menu items here but that’s what makes this place so special!! It’s an opportunity to try fresh food and ingredients in a totally different way! We left there feeling satisfied but not overall stuffed and I’ll chalk that up to the freshness of the food! Although I try to steer clear of carbs (all depending on my choices and what’s in front of my face 😂 of course) I had to throw that out the window and go with the dish with a large round hash brown topped with smoked salmon and a poached egg!!! The names of the dishes I don’t recall but you’ll get my point 🤪! My hunnnies went with a dish with the most delicious mushrooms topped with an egg (I think) and onions!! We also ordered onion soup where they actually warm a particular cheese on the side and then come over and top your cup of soup with the cheese!! Because I’m a cheese lover I requested more!! I’ll add both pics so you see the difference! We also ordered a side of a bacon slice which was the real deal!! PLUS~ of course because it was brunch I chose my usual alcoholic companion 😂🥰💪🏻 which happened to be a martini they have already prepared that is topped with a red chili oil! For that I had 2 😜💪🏻. Overall SO HAPPY we found this place!! We live in Laurel, but definitely will be back to try the other items on the menu! They serve brunch Saturday and Sunday so want to make a point to try their dinner menu 🎉🎉🎉. PS~ they also have a huge bar that spans the whole side of the restaurant in case you are looking for that! All in all~~ DEF RECOMMEND!!! 💖👏🏻💖👏🏻

Visitors can immerse themselves in local archaeology and natural history through engaging exhibits that span two floors filled with fascinating information.
Glad we came by this museum on a spur of the moment driving by on weekend. Got personal tour by museum docent about history of Indian settlements in Long Island. Museum is also serious research lab for artifacts of archaeological digs in the area.

Reviewed February 18, 2020 Thought it would be small with few items & really ended up encompassing various rooms on 2 floors chock full of information about Native Americans not just of the region. Actually want to go seek out other Indian museums now all over the country. Highlight? Could amazingly touch & handle authentic (& expensive) items one would not be able to anywhere else.

Small but surprisingly packed with lots of different artifacts, and museum staff is really passionate about what they do and will offer a lot of great information. We spent about 30 minutes looking at everything. Please be advised that the museum is only open on Sundays 1:30-4:30 (I hope this is helpful to future guests as it appears that a previous reviewer tried to visit on a Saturday when they were closed).

Greenport Skatepark, situated on Moores Lane, is a 20,000 square foot outdoor skate park featuring mini-ramps, a street course, and a half-pipe. Safety gear like pads and helmets are essential for visitors. The park offers various ramp sizes, rails, and boxes for skating enthusiasts. Although the pavement could be improved in some areas with grass and weeds growing through cracks, it remains an enjoyable space.
The only outdoor free public 12' vert ramp on Long Island. Also has two 6' ramps with 8' extentions and a spine, a 3' mini ramp and several wood and cement banks along with several rails, 1/4 pipes and other street features. Ground is asphalt and rough but skateable. BMX, quads and scooters welcome. Park is improving day by day thanks to dedicated volunteers and plans are in the works for major improvements. Locals are friendly. A must for old school vert dogs!

Needs a nearby bathroom but otherwise a good, fenced in safe area out of the way of everything else. Nice space for people to sit if they don't want to be inside the skatepark, and reasonably well up kept by comparison to some others
Jessica D — Google review
Despite several days of December sun and no precip, all of the bigger ramps (and most a pretty big) were wet because they are oriented north-south so the sun never hits one side. Mini, which faces east -west was fun though. Street course transitions were rough and need work.
Tim B — Google review
Nice features. They've got a hunch if different ramp sizes, rails and boxes so they're is a bunch of stuff to do. Pavement could be a little better, some cracks have grass and weeds growing up from them but still good regardless

Burton's Bookstore, located on Front Street, offers a diverse collection of books that cater to various interests. From volumes about the North Fork and local landmarks to beach reads and children's books, the store has something for everyone. Visitors appreciate the friendly and helpful staff as well as the reasonable prices. The bookstore also features a used book section where one can stumble upon rare finds. It is described as a charming small-town bookstore with an impressive selection that keeps customers coming back for more.
Burton’s Bookstore is the best bookstore on Long Island, and probably anywhere. Inviting, cozy and exciting. If you are a book lover, you will fall in love with Burton’s Bookstore on your first visit. So many wonderful books to select from, diverse novels and non-fiction books, diverse biographies, phenomenal children’s books, special books about Long Island’s East End as well. Top notch customer service on every visit as well. What else can I say except this is my favorite book store.

Their wines are honest and inviting, made from grapes grown in the unique maritime climate of the region. With stunning views overlooking Long Island Sound, guests can enjoy award-winning wines while taking in the picturesque surroundings. The winery offers both indoor and outdoor event spaces for gatherings of all sizes.
Fantastic facility. Delightful wines. Good staff. Great grounds. I am a wine aficionado and these wines give me something to savor and seek out the sensations. The Anonometer blends are worthy of deep consideration. So too the white Cabernet Franc - sublime.

This vineyard has great views and an amazing room to enjoy wine. This was one of the most impressive locations my wife and I visited on our April winery trip to the North Fork. We really liked the ability to order from the counter right away and get what we wanted vs. having table service. This is a great place to visit when the weather is warm and it’s one of the few(and maybe the only) vineyards that offers an ocean view in the area.
Michael R — Google review
Wow beautiful! As you drive up to the vineyard you are greeted with rows and rows of vines. The large open space of the winery was nice and had two floors as well. There were some tables with benches and others were standing room only. They have a good wine selection as well as Greenport beers for people with different tastes. They have a huge outdoor lawn space to walk or sit and they have a nice view of the sound.

This is such a beautiful spot for a wine tasting. They have gorgeous tall glass windows so you can look far out as you’re wine tasting. They also have tasting on their back patio. The other side overlooks their vineyard. They had a few different wine tasting options and small snacks. If you want to wine taste overlooking the water they have picnic tables set up near the clifftops. Insta: @TheShahLALand

One of My Favorite Spots on the North Fork I’ve been to Kontokosta Winery a bunch of times now, and it never disappoints. Their wine is always amazing, but lately I’ve been hooked on their Blood Orange Spritz—it’s so refreshing and honestly one of the best cocktails around. The staff is super friendly and really knows their stuff. It’s one of those rare places that feels both welcoming and a little elevated at the same time. You can totally relax and feel at home, but still enjoy a really special experience. Between the wine, the cocktails, the view (gorgeous), the music, and the great bar staff, it’s just a perfect spot. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area!
Catherine K — Google review
My husband and I used to love visiting this winery — the views are beautiful, and the wines are excellent. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning now that you have to become a member just to purchase a bottle. I don’t understand why the winery made this change, as it really takes away from the experience. It’s disappointing, but luckily, there are so many other wonderful wineries to enjoy in the North Fork, so we’ll be just fine.
Paola R — Google review
Kontokosta has a beautiful overlook view of the Long Island sound but it is quite a distance from the main building with no additional areas outside to obtain a drink. According to their employees over the last eight months or so you are no longer able to buy a bottle of wine and head outside to enjoy this view, that is at least a few hundred yards away from the main building without becoming a member. So one glass of wine each for my wife and I and we head out to the overlook where there are tables and chairs to relax and enjoy the view but by that time we are done with our wine and then I have to head back to get another glass and repeat. No thank you. This was a favorite spot for my wife and I especially on our anniversary while enjoying the North fork now I can say unfortunately it will no longer be part of our destination plans when we head out to relax through the year.

Walt restored my childhood sleigh “Rosebud” which now hangs from my ceiling in Orient. His meticulous care in this restoration achieved a result far beyond my expectations. Walt is game for just about any project which require ingenuity combined with artistry

I am stunned and overjoyed with the talented restoration of my ancestors' 19th century pastel portraits. They were deteriorated and disintegrating 200 year old fragile torn papers and Walter's crew beautifully restored them to archival quality.

Meticulous framing, an unbelievable selection of mats and frames, plus a wondrous selection of prints: fine art, photos, and posters. I had brought in 2 fine art prints to have framed and Walter understood what I wanted immediately. I left with three fine prints already framed. Travel, nautical, nautical charts, automotive, and landscape are all represented in Walter’s gallery and the selection is always changing. Prices extremely competitive. Highly recommended, worth every star.

Walter did a stunning job framing our large print, including a superb frame and hanging structure. He was also kind enough to drop off at our home as it wouldn't fit in our car. Highly recommended!
David M — Google review
We’ve had Walter frame several paintings for us over the years, and the fit and finish of his work has always been top notch. His pricing isn’t inexpensive, but considering how much more costly framing is on the South Fork, and what a fantastic job he does, Walter’s services are a bargain.
