The Rex Allen Arizona Cowboy Museum, established in 1989, celebrates the life and career of Rex Allen, a renowned singing cowboy from Willcox. The museum houses an array of memorabilia showcasing his success in Western movies, TV shows, and radio. Visitors can explore movie posters, Nudie suits worn by Rex Allen during concerts, guitars, records, and more. Additionally, the museum features a Cowboy Hall of Fame.
This small museum is packed full of country music history and everything Rex Allen and Rex Allen Jr. From his early childhood years to his most famous singing and acting years, it's got a bit of it all. The movie posters alone could be in their own museum! There are some Nudie suits he wore in concerts and shows as well as his guitars and records. We knew little of Rex Allen's history before coming to the museum but when we left we felt like we knew him from childhood! There's a statue across the street in the little park, perfect opportunity for a picture with Rex! Wilcox is a tiny town with a big history!

The museum is well put together and the docents are very knowledgeable with facts. We visited on the weekend and the docents encouraged us to return on Monday morning to listen to local singers from 10-12. Visiting the museum was a 20 year dream come true. We are thankful to the city of Wilcox for all their hard work and their contributions to keeping Rex Allen's memory alive.

We were passing through Wilcox last week and decided we three couples traveling together would visit the museum. I must say we were very impressed with all of the well presented exhibits and displays but also by the very knowledgeable guide at the front desk. She gave us a quick 5 minute talk about the life and remarkable career of Rex Allen. We all agreed this place is really worth the time to visit. I was also impressed by their policy to waive the reasonable price of admission for veterans. I'm sure you will also be happy if you choose to visit this treasure.
Sid K — Google review
My friend and I visited this great museum yesterday. A wonderful staff member told us about the history; she was a wealth of information and told us of the upcoming Oct. 4th celebration. She was a gem, just like this museum is!
Deb C — Google review
It was so wonderful to see this museum. All the artifacts. I loved seeing the section dedicated to his contribution to Disney. Wish the Disney section a little more detailed.

What a wonderful place. Lisa was an amazing host. I could have spent all day there. I heard a rumor that on Mondays. They have country singers come down and play some tunes.
Eric T — Google review
We loved the experience! The lady went out of her way to make our visit enjoyable. Plus, Veterans get in free. She even took our picture in front of the Rex Allen mural. Being of age, 77, I remember some of his movies. AAA rating.

Nestled in the heart of Willcox, the Chiricahua Regional Museum is a treasure trove for history enthusiasts eager to explore the rich tapestry of southeast Arizona's past. Operated by the dedicated Sulphur Springs Valley Historical Society, this charming museum showcases an impressive array of artifacts, documents, and photographs that chronicle the region's evolution from prehistoric times to modern day.
The renowned American humorist Mark Twain credited for aphorism once said " history doesn't repeat itself but it often rhymes" which in theory translates the changes of circumstances, settings, names, events etc etc. The chiricahua museum showcases such events which took place among the Apace Indians and modern day living of the such. This place a must place to be visited.

A small but well-laid out museum of local and regional history in Willcox, AZ. Has some nice pieces of early pottery. Explanations of Indian wars, seemed balanced. Lots of early artifacts laid out and eay to view. If in the area and interested in history, worth a visit. No formal admission fee, donations accepted.

The docent Keith Klump is the star of this show. A true to life cowboy storyteller. He truly brought the exhibits to life with his own context and anecdotes. Don't miss out on this authentic experience.

This is a small private museum that we enjoyed on our trip across I10. It has a small entrance fee and then you walk around learning about the Chiricahua. If you want some quiet down time this is a recommended stop. There are a number of good restaurants around and plenty of parking.

Civic Centers
The Willcox Historic Theater, established over a century ago, has been a source of entertainment for the local community and beyond. Its Southwest Art Deco architecture, dating back to 1936, was revamped in 1990 to include a new entrance and an expanded marquee while preserving its historic charm. Despite its vintage ambiance, the theater is equipped with modern amenities such as state-of-the-art digital projection and sound systems for showcasing contemporary releases during matinee and evening screenings.
This is our second time coming through Willcox and going to this theater, once in January 2023 and now in March 2024, and it was a wonderful experience both times. (We travel in our motorhome for months at a time.) Tonight we met the nicest young man, Nathan, who we found out was a college graduate. He was very perceptive, and handled our receipt problem well. He was quick and alert, and had great eye contact and presence. Make sure to stop and enjoy this theater if you find yourself in Willcox! (The popcorn and nachos were great, too!)
Sarah R — Google review
They made popcorn… mmmmmm yummers
Oberlerd A — Google review
Bought a large popcorn expecting the free refill but got scammed out of that bc they "just threw it out" and "can't make more" while the worker stood there eating a bowl of her own. Where else can you go that closes concessions *during* the show? Smh... Highly disappointed in that experience
Lena K — Google review
We are very fortunate to have this beautiful theater in our little town. It has current new movies that recently came out showing here. The price is good and the theater has been beautifully remodel. The staff very friendly. If you want fresh popcorn they make and deliver to where you are sitting, this is one of the many perks of this theater 👍🤗
Shirley R — Google review
Not sure about the theater, but one of their employees harassed me about my dog being tied outside for 30 minutes. She yelled that it was "cold and rainy and animal abuse." The reality is however, she was tied outside after the rain and it was 80 degrees out... I personally will never visit this establishment with people like this working there.
James T — Google review
A very nice place to watch your favorite movies. Staff was extremely polite and accomodating. For as youthful as they ere, one could experience their ernest desire to help. The shoW, " SHE WAS THE DEPUTIES WIFE ", was very good. The movie line was captivating, and the acting was very good. The last 15 minutes exceeded anything I expected. A show that needs to be seen.
John M — Google review
Gary does an awesome job keeps us coming back!! So glad to have our Lil theater we support it!! Our town needs something for the kids to do without travel!! Thank you everyone for keeping this going!!
Karen L — Google review
Visited the Wilcox Historic Theater last night. The remodeled interior design contemporary and comfortable. The staff (in this case Taylor and the young man working with her) were personable and efficient. A town the size of Willcox is fortunate to have a movie, theater, much less one of this quality. Live events at the theater add another benefit. Use and support this gem!

Just an hour east of Tucson, this expansive 833-square-mile region boasts two-thirds of the state's vineyards and is renowned for its exceptional grape production. The high-desert climate here creates perfect conditions for cultivating over 80 varietals, particularly big, bold reds that thrive in the loamy soil.
I went to Wilcox for bird watching. I didn't do any wine tasting. However there is 3 tasting rooms on Main St. Easy parking and all located within 100 feet of each other.

The Aridus Wine Company Tasting Room is located in a 40-acre estate vineyard in the Willcox AVA region of Arizona. The winery, housed in a refurbished apple warehouse, features sustainable design and a rustic yet sophisticated atmosphere that earned it a Design Excellence award. It is one of the largest wineries in the state, boasting industry-leading wine making equipment.
The venue, the wine(s), and the staff are head and shoulders better than the rest of the tasting rooms in Wilcox! Lodi was very attentive and supremely knowledgeable about their wine and the surrounding area. It was such a shift from what we experienced across the railroad tracks.

Many good wines. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff. Beautiful tasting room. Both whites and reds and even one sparkling! Great time.
Cathy W — Google review
A calm, cool place to sample good wine and watch trains go by. They have good quality wines, both red and white. The service was very friendly and knowledgeable. Added bonus, they were open until 6!
Nicole J — Google review
We had such a pleasant experience visiting the Aridus tasting room today. The gentleman serving us was extemely enthusiastic and took the time to explain the history of each wine we sampled. This was the best wine we had in downtown Wilcox, and definitely the best atmosphere. We will be back to try out some of the vineyards on site.
Connie Z — Google review
Such a beautiful stop—right from the moment you walk up, you’re surrounded by fragrant lavender lining both sides of the path. It set the tone perfectly. The tasting room itself is just as gorgeous—clean, modern, and welcoming. My sister and I shared a white tasting and a red tasting, and both were great. Our bartender was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole experience feel personal without being overly formal. I ended up taking home a bottle of the 2020 Fumé Blanc—bright, balanced, and the kind of white I want to sip on a patio. Would 100% go back.
Riley M — Google review
Great experience at the Aridus tasting room! Tyler was great and took the time to tell me all about the wines, the winery and the region. Excellent wines as well. Aridus is doing it right! Make sure to cross the tracks and visit this excellent tasting room!
Mike O — Google review
Aridus wine company has earned a spot for me as a forever customer! Their team has gone far above and beyond what can be expected from a business when we experienced issues receiving a shipment of wine out of state. They stayed in contact with me through the whole process explaining what issues they were experiencing on their end and were very up front and transparent, no funny business at all. Also their tasting room is beautiful, cozy, inviting you to taste, relax, and truly enjoy what eastern AZ has to offer. Lastly, I have to rave that their wines are incredible to boot! If I could give them 10 out of 5 stars I would. Take the time to drive from Tucson or even Phoenix, you will not be disappointed!
Chris J — Google review
This place makes incredible wine! I’ve visited vineyards and winery’s across the world so I was curious to try wines from Arizona. Tastings include 4 wines and are around $20 per person. We came to visit on Christmas Eve and the woman working was incredibly welcoming and was very knowledgeable about the wines. You could tell she really enjoyed working there and felt a strong connection with the company. That’s nice to see! I did the barrel select reds tasting and the Tempranillo was on par with Rioja Spanish Tempranillo and the cab franc and cab sauv reminded me of some of my favorites from Sonoma Valley in California. I liked the wines so much I ended up purchasing a case!

The Keeling Schaefer Vineyards Willcox Tasting Room is a must-visit in historic downtown Wilcox, housed in the former Wilcox Bank Building. Open daily from 11am to 5pm, it offers indoor and outdoor seating for tasting premium wines. Visitors can bring their own snacks and enjoy the wonderful atmosphere. The area is known for award-winning wines, with other popular tasting spots nearby.
Our server this morning was very knowledgeable and well-informed about the variety of wines. We had two different flight tastings tasted eight different wines and had a small charcuterie board. It was well worth it and we enjoyed our time. Not to mention we took home six bottles of wine and our glasses.
Angela L — Google review
A friend from Scotland and I stopped by the Keeling Schaefer Vineyards Tasting Room in Willcox, AZ last Saturday. The hostess Audrey was incredible. She was articulate, knowledgeable about the product and about wine in general. Her personality and demeanor made the whole experience a wonderful time. We tasted at least 8 wines. All the red wines we tasted were surprisingly good. The 2017 Keeling Brothers Shiraz was literally spectacular. If you are in that part of Arizona and you love good wine, stop by and enjoy some great wine.
Bob J — Google review
Really nice server. Beautiful ambiance. The wine was a bit heavy, and “jammy” (aka fruit forward for my taste). The Syrah was almost like a port to my taste buds. VictorB

Very enjoyable tasting and visit to the beautifully restored bank building. My wife and I enjoyed talking with Esther about the Keeling Schaefer wines, and the Arizona wine industry. Very glad we stopped by on our cross country trip.

Tried out my second wine tasting and was very pleased with the service provided. Very educational and enjoyable experience. Thank you so much Victoria!
Charleigh — Google review
It’s a nice tasting room, but I wasn’t a fan of the wine. It’s all very big and ripe. Raisiny, stewed. The petite sirah tasted just like a port - the alcohol was off the charts. This was my first time trying Arizona wine so I thought it was all like this until I went to Coronado up the road, which had much more palatable wines.

We actually came to get sandwiches for lunch and to take to travel, but the restaurant portion opens around 11AM, so we looked around store. The store has whole pies and bread (which would probably freeze or mail easily). Sort of wish they had slices of pie also. Otherwise store is nice, organized, and super clean.

My gf drove down & I came along for the ride, and we bought bad cherries! The mango shakes in a souvenir mug was delicious. The honey comb & Pecan butter was from Texas. They had sprayers to cool you down. I looked at the cute country store upstairs. I regret not buying an Apple Pie Ala Mode from their kitchen in the back & I heard they have breakfast on the weekends!

Nestled in the heart of Willcox Playa, Lake Cochise Wildlife Viewing Area offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's ancient past. Once a vast body of water reaching depths of 46 feet and spanning 140 square miles during the Pleistocene era, this area was shaped by cooler, wetter climates. Today, however, it presents a different landscape; with an average annual rainfall of just 18.
Review of RV Boondocking at Cochise Lake – Willcox, AZ Cochise Lake is a fantastic boondocking spot with plenty of space, making it perfect for big rigs. It’s easy to access, peaceful, and offers a great place to settle in for a night or more. The real highlight, though, is the incredible experience with the sandhill cranes. You’re just feet away from hundreds—if not thousands—of these majestic birds. Watching them take flight at daybreak is absolutely breathtaking. Many return around 1 p.m., and sunset brings another spectacular show. If you love birdwatching, wide-open spaces, and the beauty of nature, this spot is definitely worth a visit!

Well managed, wildlife-supporting facility that is quiet, convenient place to observe migrating and resident birds. Well used by birders, recreation seekers, mostly nature appreciating. Willcox is adding environmental educational signage, bat houses, attractive steel decoration to the shade-providing platforms. Apparently, the area surrounding the lakes is an historic dog walking area, who are mostly considerate of others, sometimes dogs a bit out of control.

The Big Tex Super BBQ plate is a generous portion perfect for sharing, accompanied by large iced teas at an affordable price.
Absolutely amazing! If for any reason you find yourself in Wilcox or even within a hours drive, this place is worth traveling to! The food was fresh and so delicious. The meats were perfect, it's really hard to find good BBQ and this place nailed it. Even the drinks and salad bar were top tier. If you are looking for real smoked meat that tastes amazing this is the place.

If you are on I10 , East or West bound do yourself a huge favor…Go to Big Tex BBQ in downtown Willcox for Family Friendly service, good BBQ and food. Nice hometown atmosphere. Ordered Kilt Lifter beers, great beer for pairing with the Pork Spare Ribs Regular BBQ Platter & Chicken Fried Steak. Hand cut French Fries were good and the sauté Zucchini and Yellow Squash was great. They have a great menu selection from Burgers, Sandwiches, Pizza & BBQ, also have a salad bar but most importantly Blue Bell ice cream!

Passby here to Chiricahua National Monument. Get some brisket and sides. The place is nicely decorated and clean. The price is a little higher than I expected but the food is good. The charge extra for using credit card but was not informed by the chashier. There was a small sign tells you about the xtra charge but si not very noticeable.
老Laoxi — Google review
The food here was really subpar for us. We are from the southeast and maybe are just used to a different style of bbq. The barbecue sauce was very heavy on what tasted like chili powder, the brisket was fatty and not very beefy in flavor, the rest was mediocre at best unfortunately it tasted like crockpot bbq, not real smoked meat. We were pretty disappointed with what we had and the cost per portion size on the side dishes was surprising. Our waitress was very sweet and kind. Fast service. We would not recommend this place personally, but did hear people at other tables saying how good their food was so…🤷🏻‍♀️
Jenevieve H — Google review
We visited Big Tex BBQ recently, hoping for a better experience than eight years ago when we found the food overpriced, bland, rubbery, and the service lacking. This time, some aspects improved, but overall, it fell short of expectations. Service: The waitress was wonderful, attentive, and understanding, making us feel welcome--a big step up from our last visit. Food: The food, unfortunately, disappointed. The brisket was overcooked, tough, bland, and flavorless, though the sausage was decent. The pork ribs seemed microwaved, with only three pieces that didn't feel like traditional BBQ. The fresh-cut French fries were good, and the large rolls were nice. The salad was fine, but the peaches were the highlight--fresh and tasty. The brisket tastes nothing like Texas brisket. No wood favor at all and very rubbery. Moist and melt in your mouth it was not. If served in Texas it would have been thrown back at the cook. Serious. If looking for real Texas BBQ in Arizona stop at Rudy's or Dickey's. Texas companies who know how it's done. Value and Atmosphere: Prices were $10 higher than our last visit, despite ordering less and sticking to water. A credit card surcharge felt unnecessary. Souvenirs like t-shirts ($35), stuffed animals, and cups were priced like a tourist spot, but the vibe was more of a local mom-and-pop diner. Final Thoughts: The kind waitress was a bright spot, but the food and value didn't impress. We won't return and can't recommend this restaurant. For better BBQ, consider other options. They need to remove Tex from the name.
Suzi D — Google review
Birn and bred true Texan. There are no words for what they exemplified as well Texas bbq. Pinto way over salted. Fries were greasy and soggy. Potato salad was cold lashed w relish in it. Ribs rocked but all else was tasteless and super dry. Lastly, Texas bbq sauce is not vinegar. Bathroom rocked.

The food was good but not necessarily spectacular, except the onion rings. They were very good. The service was just okay. The waitress wasn't very friendly. She seemed like she really didn't want to be there. However, they were fast. We ordered and within minutes, it was served. It wasn't a bad experience, but I would not go out of my way to go back. We still tipped her well. Maybe she will be better with customers.

No one helped us after being seated. Told to go sit on the patio, the only tables available only had 2 chairs, there were 3 of us. Waited at the table for a good while and no one even came to give us menus or anything, meanwhile everyone who came in after us were given menus. Used to love this place.

Mexican restaurant
La Unica Restaurant & Tortilleria in Willcox, Arizona is a unique find offering authentic Mexican cuisine. The restaurant serves typical Sonoran-style dishes like enchiladas, refried beans, and Mexican rice at reasonable prices. Visitors praise the generous portions and fresh homemade flour tortillas. While the food is not outstanding, it is enjoyable to eat. The restaurant has a rustic outdoor patio where guests can dine, and the service is friendly and efficient.
Well established, this non descriptive restaurant serves up a hearty meal quickly. A great stop for a quick bite or fulfilling meal. Chips and salsa come with your meal. You can also order a kilo of tortillas to take home. We had a couple of tacos which were perfect for lunch.

Great stop off the highway for lunch! Food was delicious and quick. The molcajete had great excellent and the perfect size to split. Highly recommend a stop here!
Marissa L — Google review
I was on a trip to New Mexico and my friends and I decided to get some lunch. La Unica is a little off the beaten path but well worth it! My friend and I shared a molcajete. There was more than enough for us to eat. Enchiladas for the other two people. One red enchiladas plate and the other shrimp. First of all the tortilla chips are hands down some of the best house-made chips I've had! Maybe the best. The salsa they brought out was also delicious and fresh. Our food came out right away and was very hot and delicious. The staff was very kind and patient with us as we decided what we wanted to eat. I highly recommend eating here if you are ever in Wilcox or at least nearby.

Atmosphere was really good. You could either sit outside or inside. Food and service were great if you're in Wilcox Az. Stop by. You won't regret it
Joyce L — Google review
Had a really authentic mexican lunch when passing through. The restaurant is lined with 🏀ns and blow ups. When you enter you walk through the patio. Area to a smaller enclosed section with inside tables and booths near the bar. We were there at lunch time on Wednesday and were seated immediately. We sat in a booth near the bar. Only one server was working all the tables but server was still good. For starters we ordered two mango margaritas. Very festive and good flavor. For the food i have to say the pictures of the food are missing a few bites, could not wait. We ordered the steak enchilada burrito. The sauce was delightful and was a well sized portion,as well as, a chile relleno combination. It was stuffed with cheese and egg and completely solved my hunger. The outside seating area was larger than inside and had heaters. When we we there us was too cold to eat outside, no one did. All in all highly recommend eating here. It is about 4 miles off the freeway on the business loop but totally worth it.

Very good Mexican food. Super cute spot. I love birria and their quesobirria tacos were fantastic. The dipping gravy make the flavor better. Yum.

Came here to try their Mexican as I had seen the reviews were nothing but positive. The entrance to the restaurant is located past the outdoor seating area. The little left handed entrance is a take out counter I believe. It’s a seat yourself anywhere situation. There isn’t a lot of indoor seating but plenty outdoors. The restaurant is clean and has what I imagine to be traditional Mexican decor and colours. The chairs are hand carved and it adds a little unique flare to the place. They have quite an extensive menu on hand. You get complimentary chips and salsa. The chips are fried tortilla chips which are super crispy and tasty. The salsa is so good. It’s not spicy at all and has a good handmade flavour. I dined for one so I was unable to finish it all. I ordered the carnitas a la pollo which came with fresh flour tortillas as my choice. The tortillas were in fact very fresh and warm. So decadent. The chicken wasn’t what i expected. I had anticipated a shredded chicken with some crisp as this is what carnitas normally is. Instead it was chicken strips in a mex flavour with peppers and onions. It was still very good nonetheless. The guacamole was fresh. I don’t know how they make their rice but oh my goodness it’s the best damn mexi rice I’ve ever had to date. Their beans are also pretty tasty. Fountain drinks provide a generous serving and allow for one free refill. The portion size was massive- I was able to take home left overs for lunch the following day. Service was prompt and friendly- with a nice smile. She was very kind and polite. The food took a bit of a wait but it was maybe 10-12 minutes- nothing major. The restaurant was not busy when I went. They also do take out. It’s clean and well kept, though more dated. Definitely recommend this location. If I wasn’t hitting the road today I’d have loved to return to try a burrito. Great prices too!
Vikki P — Google review
I was so pleasantly surprised by the food and service. The tortilla chips are the best I’ve had and could tell the salsa was homemade as well. The chicken mole was good, as was the ground beef wet burrito. Highly recommend, they were super busy and still managed to give us kind service.

Steak house
Nestled in the charming Willcox area, Double S Steakhouse is a cozy restaurant that takes pride in celebrating local produce. The restaurant sources its steak from surrounding farms, honoring the area's legacy as the Cattle Capital of the World. With a focus on local farming, the owners bring 20 years of cooking expertise to create succulent prime rib, saucy chicken fried steak, and irresistible brisket sandwiches paired with farm-fresh salads.
This southwest steakhouse is a treat! Delicious tenderloin steak, to the green beans, iced tea and caramel filled churros. Great service with a smile. Sure wish I could get a steak like this near or home, but we're traveling today.
Dennis B — Google review
Service excellent, food not so much. The place was packed when we arrived which I thought was a good sign that we were about to eat something delicious. The locals must know something I don’t. I order loaded fries and my friend ordered the bean burger. Both of us were sorely disappointed. The waiter was so nice. He knew I was really hungry but unable to get over the dog slop on my plate so he offered to have the kitchen cook me a plain chicken breast with some fries. How can you screw that up? Well…they did. Fries were under cooked and soggy, and the chicken overcooked and dry. Everything had a weird flavor. I don’t know what else to say. Maybe stick to the steaks and you’ll have better luck. There’s not many places to eat in town.
Jane G — Google review
The staff was very nice and attentive. The food was a little too salty, I'm sure some people like it like that but not my personal preference. The Brussels sprouts were creative, sauteed with onions and nuts in a broth; a unique side dish which was nice. The pricing is a little bit expensive for the product and atmosphere.
Joe M — Google review
Dissatisfied!!! I stopped by because of a review of how delicious the chicken fried steak is. Chicken fried steak was no different than eating at Dennys. It was pre-made, including the role. For about $25, a plate I was expecting made from scratch. The flavor was okay. I also got mac n cheese. The noddles were a bit hard with full of flavor. Mashed potatoes were delicious and gravy. So if you get the chicken fried steak, it is not made from scratch, so in my opinion wayyy over priced. Also, the menu shows mac n cheese ad on $1.49 but the ticket says $2. The ranch is still watered down from the previous review I read. It hasn't changed. I guess try your luck with a steak or burger, which I haven't tried. The service was great! The atmosphere was great, quiet, and cool.
Lily O — Google review
The food was pretty good, although I can honestly say I was a little disappointed that there wasn't either sirloin steak nor a filet. The homemade mashed potatoes were good, but just a smidge dry and bland. But everyone in our group seemed to enjoy all of the food. A couple comments had been made though about not tasting any alcohol in the one drink they each got, so the ones who ordered those drinks didn't bother ordering a second drink. Overall, I would definitely go back again. It would be nice if they add sirloin and/or of filet to the menu. But like I said I'll go back. 🥩🍹

Another gem we found. We rode to a small town, Wilcox, Az. Stopped at Double S. Now when ya get here don't go all big city. We were met by a cheerful lady and engaged in a great conversation. She sat us at our table and was always there at the right time. Always smiling and making me feel I came to her house, not establishment. We order Texas Twinkies and thought, dear Lord, that is a meal in itself. Then our food came and it was amazing. My only problem was the fries. They needed to be cooked longer, but that was it. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Double S, for a wonderful afternoon. Your staff is awesome!!!!!!
Bobby R — Google review
I had such high hopes for this place. It was decorated very nice and looked updated. However, the food was mediocre at best. The brisket burger was so salty, I thought I was going to have a heart attack before I could finish it! No joke. The ranch dipping sauce was so watered down that it would run off my food as soon as I pulled my food out of the ranch. There was a hair in the chicken bacon wrap. There was plenty of staff walking around, yet somehow the service was super slow. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this place.

Nestled just south of the railroad tracks, Twin Lakes Golf Course offers a serene setting for golf enthusiasts looking to unwind with a round or two. This charming 9-hole municipal course is particularly welcoming for beginners and families, making it an ideal spot for kids to learn the game. While some areas like the sand traps could use a bit more attention, the greens are generally in decent shape compared to other local courses.

I never played a course I didn’t like, this one I liked the least, it’s mostly weeds and dirt with some grass like growth, it’s 9 holes you play twice for $31 with electric cart a beer and friendly service, oh only hole #6 I would give 4 stars.
T N — Google review
Visited course to check it out. Did not have opportunity to play it. Nice 9-hole municipal course with 2 sets of tee boxes for both men and women. Enjoyed a cool beverage while having a chance to chat it up with several local players. Looks like a great opportunity to get away and play golf on a future visit.
Mark M — Google review
A fun and inexpensive 9 hole course especially for a town the size of Wilcox. and a good place for kids to learn! The only real fault on this course for me to complain about is the sand traps need to be maintained a little better the greens are not in that bad shape compared to other courses I have played in this area. Although the road to get there i think maybe maintained by the local front-end shop to help bring in business. I play this course the most of all the closest courses to me snd the staff is friendly but call ahead to make sure there are no tournaments and be sure to check the hours as they may be quite different from what you are used to. I will be reviewing other southern NM and SE AZ Courses as i play them
Kyle J — Google review
Staff was super friendly and deserve five stars. The course was average: level, smooth greens with slight undulation. Fairway grass was very "clingy", the ball didn't roll much. Two groups who played around us were rather discourteous...loud talking and laughing while we were preparing to hit. Need some gold etiquette lessons. Overall we had a good time but it could have been better.
Randy H — Google review
The greens were in pretty good shape, but the fairways were showing signs of a poor monsoon season.

Golden Rule Vineyards is located in the Willcox Commercial Building on Stewart St. It shares the space with two other wineries, Strive Vineyards and Copper Horse Vineyard. The owners, Jim and Ruth Graham, offer a warm welcome to visitors and often join them for wine tasting sessions at their personal residence above the tasting room. In addition to grape vines, the vineyard also boasts acres of pistachio bushes due to the ideal growing conditions in the arid, high elevation desert.
We had a experience visiting this winery. It was recommended to us, and boy are we glad we listened! We got to meet the owners who were very humble and gracious. Dale served us and did a great job! We really enjoyed the wines, and left with 5 bottles to enjoy later. Very reasonably priced and a wonderful place to visit. We liked it was in such a beautifully restored building - it would be awesome to host an event in this lovely venue. They were also dog friendly which was a bonus for us as we have a winery loving lab. (LOL.) All reds, and all wonderful!

5/30/20 With 40+ wineries within 30 miles on Benson, Arizona, I picked the BEST! Owners Jim & Ruth Graham were so welcoming, and I even joined them and their friends above the tasting room, basically their personal residence, for a few hours of sampling wines, pistachios, conversation, stories, and laughter! Yes, besides acres of grape vines, they have acres of pistachio bushes too! Apparently, this arid, high elevation desert is perfect for growing both. Ruth knew the owners of Heart of The Desert Winery & Pistachio Farm in Alamogordo, New Mexico, that I was at a week or so ago. Ruth also knew "Bob" at the Benson Visitor Center that talked my ear off for about 30 minutes last week, eventhough the Visitor Center was officially closed. It is such a small world! Oh, what made me pick Golden Rule Vineyards? I read the online reviews & looked at the pictures. Many reviews reflected that they make incredible wines, and I agree. I would also add that you arrive as a stranger and leave hours later as a friend. Thank you so much for your hospitality Jim & Ruth! CHEERS! 🍷 #adventureswithrobo

Highly recommend this winery, very good Arizona wine (especially Cab Franc) and also excellent pistachios. Loved meeting and talking with Ruth, who did our tasting and whose family runs the place. Beautiful tasting room and the surrounding landscapes!

My sister and I went here Thanksgiving weekend and had a wonderful time. The wines we tried were all excellent and the person helping us was extremely friendly, informed, and helpful. Next time we stop by in Wilcox, we are definitely making this place a priority to go again. Can't recommend this place enough.
Devan B — Google review
This review is for the tasting room at the vineyard, not in town. I cannot say enough good things about the experience. The wines are very good and the pistachio’s great, but the visit with the owners is what made it one of the best wine tasting experiences we have ever had! We’ll worth the drive and time!
Linda B — Google review
Ruth and Jim were such wonderful hosts! They are the owners and shared stories of their wines and were so great to talk to. They also farm pistachios which were amazing as well! My friend and I ended buying 3 bottles of wine and 2 bags of pistachios. It is off the main vineyard road but was so nice to visit. Also saw some deer outside
Stacy B — Google review
We visited this tasting room in town and our host was friendly, funny, and knowledgeable. Cost of tasting was normal and the wines enjoyable. He explained each wine and we learned much about Golden Rule vineyards. We bought several bottles of assorted wines and will definitely come back in the future

We are members of Harvest Host and this winery is on our A list. A beautiful day to sit out and enjoy their wonderful wines and talk with so many friendly people. They specialize in red which I love, my husband not so much but the owners Jim and Ruth made sure to take care of him. They treated everyone there like family.

Nestled in the heart of historic downtown, Flying Leap Vineyards Willcox Tasting Room & Art Gallery is a delightful fusion of wine and art that invites visitors to indulge in life’s pleasures. This charming venue features vineyards cultivating exquisite grapes from Spanish, French, and Italian varieties. The tasting room itself is steeped in history, housed in a century-old building with a stunning mesquite wood bar.
Looks like this place is often overlooked which to me is weird because it's on a busier street corner and more importantly because this winery has just been awarded "BEST WINERY IN THE STATE OF ARIZONA" by a prominent Phoenix metro paper. Place has a cool vibe to it; funky art from local artists plus fantastic wine and tasty rubs/seasonings adorn the place. I'd say if you're around town & this place is open, it is a must stop.

I was down there working on a gold line and all by myself in town. When I was walking through town and stopped in and had a great experience there and the wine was delicious. What a great place to stay! We were there for 5 nights while visiting family and took advantage of all the amenities. The breakfast in the café was SO GOOD! We went back and had it again the next day - I am a retired Bed & Breakfast chef and food snob, so and we prepare most of our meals at our campsite. When I say the breakfast was great, it really was. The campground owners are on premises every hour we were awake and are the most accommodating people. The pool was lovely, bathrooms clean, and laundry was fully functioning and not overpriced. The dog area was well equipped. There is a lovely spot set up with patio chairs to watch the stunning sunset. This will always be our go-to campground in this area!

Keiller Park in Willcox is a spacious public park with plenty of room for children to play. Additionally, the park offers amenities such as a public pool, clean restrooms, a small skate park, basketball courts, and baseball fields. Visitors can enjoy walking trails for dogs and biking for little ones.
Description and photos of this park don't do it justice! There are many amenities, but my kids were most interested in the playground! Interesting options for both little and bigger kids. One of the monorails also has a chair for the littles or those with disabilities. It was a very windy day and the wood chips kept the dust down. Keiller park is wonderful!!! Over the last year they have added several more play things including a jungle gym, a "zip line" both with seats, one is more chair like than the other and a canopy over the main play ground area so it doesn't get as hot! There is also a public pool, which is believe is $5 for a day when it opens. There are public restrooms that are very clean, the city does wonderfully cleaning them. There is also a small skate park, basketball courts and baseball fields! As well as tables if you want to picnic that are covered by canopies also a larger covered seating area for birthday parties! I take walks there every night and for those who play pokemon go! There's 3 or 4 gyms and lots of stops!!

Be aware, you must pay for tastings even if you buy two bottles of wine. Wine glasses cost $10 each in addition. They were the only one we encountered who charged for tasting after buying over priced bottles of wine.

The tasting room offers a great wine-drinking ambience and excellent customer service. Visitors can enjoy engaging conversations with knowledgeable servers while sampling a variety of wines, including flavorful reds like Cab Franc. The building has a rich history and is conveniently situated within walking distance to several other wineries, making it an ideal destination for wine enthusiasts.
Heather was welcoming & knowledgeable. Our favs were Sauvignon Blanc… ahhhhmmmaazing & my husband’s was Cab Sav Syrah. The tasting room building has great history & located within walking to several other wineries. This was our favorite!

The customer service was excellent, the server, Christina, was extremely friendly. I really liked the Grenache Rosé, it was the best rosé I have ever tasted! The Strive tasting room looked quite exquisite, it had a great wine-drinking ambience. I really enjoyed my time there. I look forward to visiting again! (I would also recommend joining their wine club in advance because you can get great deals.)
Logan K — Google review
We enjoyed the wine however the server who was one out of three wineries together showed very little interest in serving us. It was hard for us to wait for her to approach us after the other two wineries were completed. We hope this will be a learning review to know that the experience of the tasting is as important as the wine itself.

Beyond surprised by this hidden gem of a winery! Drove down from Glendale and hit this place ….big weekend in Wilcox. Chiricahua National Monument, named after the Chiricahua Apaches, is a breathtaking 12,000-acre park in Arizona. The landscape features unique rock formations formed from eroded volcanic ash. It's a popular spot for hikers, campers, and birdwatchers with diverse wildlife including coatis, javelinas, mountain lions and black bears. The park offers two campgrounds and is located about 37 miles from Willcox.
Great experience regarding the walk for the monuments! We took The Big Loop even though we were not quite prepared physically. Reading a lot on the internet about and being determined to squeeze the max out of it, we started the trail at 8 o'clock in the morning. We finished at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. Many thanks to the administration for keeping such great shape trails. Clean pathways thanks also to the educated tourists! We would gladly return!

Amazing park i never knew existed! Very beautiful and peaceful. There is an amazing almost 10mile hike with campgrounds that definitely warrent a camp trip. Also, shorter trails up on top where the views are most excellent! We plan to come back for sure, but we were just driving through. Even if you only have an hour or so to spare, there is a very scenic drive you can take to the top that's well worth the visit. Also, the NP agent inside was super nice and informative. Great park!

Completely possible to drive/hike instead hike hike 😄. Only some indoor sites like the ranch were affected by the shutdown. Camp ground seem to be open as well. All around a great find.

Went here on a beautiful December weekday 2024. The gravel road to get there was not that bad. Did it easily with a small SUV. Pretty sure not 4x4 or anything. Hike from parking lot to the visitor center and fort ruins was 45 mins tops, and not like I am a super hiker, and that also included some stops for pics and sightseeing. Not the best of the 410 national parks I have been to, but still really great. Quite peaceful and relaxing. Only saw a handful of people during my whole visit. Visitor center small but had some good displays. Enjoyed the views from the rocking chair on the visitor center porch. Water and restrooms and a small gift shop at the VC. Was going to take the back/scenic route back but totally forgot. Overall, a rewarding 2-hour visit.

Fort Bowie is where the wars with the Apache started when a 2nd Lieutenant accused Chief Cochise if kidnapping a young boy. Full of history and ruins with a Ranger to share the history. Has a small museum inside the visitor center. Worth the trip if you like history. You can hike the 1.5 mile trail in or drive close to the visitor center.

It’s always good to learn some history about what happened in your own country. I’ve never visited so many forts and monuments in my life until I bought the national Park pass book and started collecting stamps. Many places I had already gone in the past but now we are revisiting some of the old and welcoming the new. Visitor center was not open, but you could still do your own walking tour.. I WOULD RECOMMEND
Cindy L — Google review
Great place for a short hike. This is the location of the battle of Apache Pass, between the Apaches and the California Column. Old and New Fort Bowie are located here, just across from the Ranger Station.
Darrell C — Google review
Its better than you think it would be. The surrounding scenery is spectacular and there is so much historical information. The best way to experience Bowie is to hike from the trail head. There is a road leading up to a parking area near the visitors center but the hike allows you to enjoy everything in the area and the scenery. At this time the visitor center is only open Sunday and Monday. You can go anytime and see the everything but the visitor center has a must see museum inside and souvenirs if you want.
Adrian P — Google review
Visited during government shutdown. Although the visitor center was closed, the trails and bathrooms were open. Visited on a Monday afternoon and I was the only person there. Hiked around the old fort buildings and along the three mile trail out to the cemetery and along overlook ridge. Good views and signage along the way to provide historical insight. Would strongly recommend hiking the trail. I had cell service at the VC but lost signal on the trail. Great place to visit to get a sense of history in the late 1800s.

On Sunday, my spouse and I visited Coronado Vineyards and were highly impressed. The establishment boasts a delightful ambiance and offers an exceptional selection of wine. One aspect we particularly appreciate is the option to pair the delectable food with our chosen wines. Unfortunately, the outdoor seating was not feasible due to strong winds that day. While Coronado Vineyards may be slightly pricier compared to other local establishments, we found it well worth the cost.
Experienced excellent wine and food at the Coronado Vineyards in Willcox, Arizona today. Beautiful surroundings and vistas. Met the owner who was so gracious and lovely. Our waitress Amari was so delightful and knowledgeable of both the wine and food. Will definitely be going back again.

Stopped here on my way to Tucson from El Paso. Really appreciate their location being right off the highway and easy to get to. Good service, though I would have liked to hear about the winery and wines I was tasting. It wasn't busy at all. Really liked the cheeseboard. They accommodated my nut allergy and replaced the item with something else. Cute gift shop. Definitely worth a stop if you're nearby or traveling through.

Terrific winery/vineyard. Wonderful Charcuterie selection, both are ample large for 4-5 people, and the small 2-3 people. The wine selection is extremely diverse, with a choice four 2oz's each 8 oz total for a flight. Leslie was very sweet and accommodating. Pets welcome outside on one of many outdoor wine and dining experiences plus the inside dining is nice too. Definitely gives intimate Vinyard feels in an petite old town in Spain, or Tuscany. Only downside is The Cab is never available in a flight only bottle purchased, and the Faved Conquistador is always sold out completely; this time and the last we were here. This was our fourth time, and it's always relaxing, peaceful, and joyful experience. Over all rating 4.75

We wanted to like Coronado Vineyards as we had 2 different people suggest we stop for a tasting. Unfortunately, it was not a nice experience. As soon as we walked in, two people in our group had to leave to wait in the car due to the smell. The entire building smelt as if it had been saturated in some floral scent. It was very strong and triggered my husband’s migraines. Three of us stayed for tastings. We did not find a wine we liked even though, between us we’d tried every wine they offered. Most were bitter or had a sour finish. I mentioned this to the girl who served us. She checked the date on the bottle and proclaimed it was fine. Not pleasant at all. We had planned on staying for lunch because we’d heard great things about the menu, but we couldn’t eat with the overpowering smell in the building.

Tyler was an outstanding host at the vineyard today. The chef created delicious dishes - we enjoyed the spinach artichoke dip, pistachio encrusted chicken skewers and the ravioli & meatballs. It was a perfect afternoon overlooking the vineyard where workers were trimming the vines in front of us. Thanks for the great experience.

We had a wonderful experience visiting Zarpara at their vineyard location just outside the town of Willcox. We enjoyed the warm hospitality and casual environment. The tasting room offers a unique selection of wines, including experimental varieties like orange wine. With a total of 17 varietals available, Barb and Dan, the knowledgeable owners, provide remarkable insight into their products.
We stopped by this winery at their vineyard location and it was a great experience. We were welcomed with warm hearts by the owners Barbara and Dan. They poured us our regular tasting, and a couple extras which we were so grateful to be able to try! We so enjoyed their reds, and left with several bottles to enjoy later. Their patio was perfect, we were not rushed so we were able to enjoy while learning about their wines, process, area, etc. Thank you for a wonderful experience, we hope others enjoy their visit as much as we did! Birds and Barrels Vineyard is a stunning, picturesque vineyard with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owner, Monica, greets guests graciously at the entrance and there's ample space to park a travel trailer. The area is spacious enough for easy maneuvering. The wine tasting experience is exceptional as the husband thoroughly enjoyed sampling all of Monica's wines and ended up purchasing a bottle of Sirah.
Beautiful vineyard. Monica was really nice and met us at the front gate as we drove in. Wide area for us to park our travel trailer. Plenty of room to maneuver. My husband sampled her wine and enjoyed all of it. Bought a bottle of Sirah to take with us. Spacious outdoor area with tables to enjoy ourselves and even watch the sunset. Highly recommend this quaint and beautiful vineyard. Definitely worth checking out.

Dog owners—this isn’t the place for you. I brought my chocolate Lab, and within about a minute of getting out of the car, we were approached by an off-leash dog from the property that wouldn’t back off. My dog was spooked and just wanted space, but we ended up being followed through the parking lot. Someone in my group had to grab the other dog’s collar before the owner finally stepped in. We got my dog settled in the car with fans and windows cracked—he was calm and happy. We went inside to do a tasting, but the energy shifted. The owner asked where our dog was, and after we explained, she seemed noticeably short with us for the rest of the visit. If you’re not bringing a dog, the setting is scenic—especially at sunset—and they had live music and a food truck that evening. But the way this situation was handled made it a one-and-done visit for me.

We visited the winery store front in Willcox in November 2021 . This is fantastic wine! I was born in Willcox. Now live in Mo. Today at home, we are enjoying the most perfect bottle of wine. Six bottles of wine arrived last week. Pleaent surprise.

We had a tractor pulls event this weekend, Sept. 17, 18, 19. Multi engine vehicles from 4 states and many local entries. 6 hrs. Each night. Fantastic event for Willcox, Arizona. 1000 spectators a night, all had a good time. Watch for our events in the future. Next weekend is Rex Allen Days. We have a PRCA Rodeo, parade vendors. Come enjoy the fun and festivities. This year we are rated no. 1 because all other events in counties around us were canceled. COME SEE US.

We had fun at the Wilcox West Fest. We arrived late, 5pm on Saturday, and missed most of the Rodeo and cooking. Yet we had a nice steak dinner. We hope to give it a shot next year to see more.

The 4th of July was very nice, people were very nice and the children were very well mannered, event had police presence, but not intrusive. Had a great time. Thanks Wilcox!

It's an awesome spot I love the way they have the panels and corrals open for people to use as they come through. If they had more trees for shade would be awesome but this park is pretty cool

Two baseball fields and a lot of gravel and dirt. Took the dog out there to exercise them a little bit and there are goat head thorns. There were restrooms and a large garbage container which was convenient. But as far as a park, I wouldn't really call it that. I think it's where the kids play baseball, no trees, no shades, no picnic tables. Just a convenient place to stretch your legs for a minute dump and use the restroom.

large fenced in area but needs serious landscaping. There are thousands of tiny thorns all over the ground even though it doesn't look like there is.
