Nature & Parks
Croton Point Park is a sprawling 508-acre riverfront park in Westchester County, situated on a stunning peninsula that extends into the Hudson River. It offers a wide range of activities and amenities, including a boat launch, campground, fishing spots, picnic areas, playgrounds, and more. The park is easily accessible from MetroNorth's Croton Harmon station, making it convenient for both families and individuals who prefer using public transportation.
This is the BEST place to camp if you like to go into New York City, there is a train station right at the entrance of the park. Lots of large trees and grassy areas. Evening. A beach that you can go to on the weekends and holidays. Amazing scenery all around. Best camping spot we've been at and we have been out traveling 3 months. Very reasonably priced as well
Gina B — Google review
Love walking through the campgrounds of this park with the falling leaves “snowing” around us. Walking the isthmus surrounded by trees and the Hudson on both sides. Sandy, private beaches and a public walk by the water. Dogs allowed! I still like Teatown Lake Reservation more but this is still a great, unique walk with a stunning view of the mountains. 5 stars!!!
Bonnie G — Google review
One of the best parks I've been to in America. The scenery and views of the Hudson are simply amazing, the best out of any park along the Hudson in my opinion. The park has infrastructure such as restrooms and vending machines. You can barbecue in the picnic area and even go camping. It is a bit of a walk from the train station, though.
Ayian S — Google review
A beautiful place, perfect for a relaxing day in nature! We had a barbecue there and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and the well-kept surroundings. The park offers plenty of space and great views, making it ideal for families or groups. Everything was lovely, and we will definitely return. Highly recommended!

Review for Cotton Point Park: Cotton Point Park is a truly beautiful and peaceful place. The natural views are stunning, especially with the vibrant colors that make the whole area feel like it’s glowing — everything looks wonderfully “orangied” during sunset and fall! The park has both small and large picnic areas, perfect for families or group outings. There are plenty of activities to enjoy, including camping, hiking, fishing, and water sports. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing day or an adventure, this park has it all. Located in the Town of Cotton, right next to the Hudson River, it’s a hidden gem worth visiting. Highly recommended!
Jasmin R — Google review
Well maintained park with ample amount of space between tent campsites from what i could see as I passed through. Staff doesn’t bother you much as long as you play it cool. Went as a group of 4 with friends who apparently played guitar and sang all night the night before we got there. Said they saw a good sized coyote but it didn’t bother them. The raccoons are menaces so keep your dogs on leash if they are anywhere near raccoon or coyote sized. Will come back to this place for sure in the future.

Today the temperature was nicer than usual so I decided to take advantage of the great weather by visiting this park for the 1st time. To start there's an entrance fee for non residents/pass holders of $10, however the fees start in May. So i entered for free which was a plus. Photos don't do it justice til you arrive and realize how big this park is really is. There's plenty of space here so people aren't on top of each other. Plenty of parking, you'll find a playground, restrooms and great views of the hudson river. Park is clean only thing you'll find is the poop from the geese. They have grills and tables, you csn also bring your own. You'll have access to a small beach, and camping area. Park is quiet and overall very peaceful. Definitely worth visiting for great summer fun with friends and family. Park is accessible by public transportation however it's a bit of a walk from the metronorth station at croton on hudson.
Mikeyy L — Google review
Amazing park with a surprisingly large grounds built around an invisible landfill (impressively hidden), right next to the Croton Harmon train station/depot. Tons of space for activities, even camping. Gorgeous views of the Hudson and incredibly well preserved wetlands filled with wildlife!! Staff has always been helpful and friendly, highly recommend visiting if you're in the area!

I visited for the pumpkin blaze and it was amazing, highly recommend. The grounds are lovely, I'll definitely visit another time to walk around.

Well done . Absolute fantastic job on keeping tradition alive in sleepy hollow. Great for families and friends alike. Tmvery walkable for young and old with many support staff along the way for any help. The gord & goblet tavern stop was a nice touch with a choice of warm apple cider, pumpkin beer and a vegetarian empanada. Well.done. your should add to your list on your next visit. I'll be back 🤙☘️

The Pumpkin Blaze was so amazing this year! Soo many pumpkins just presented in the most interactive way. Great themes and so much to see in your walk. They also sell drinks and snacks.
Gabrielle S — Google review
So much spooky pumpkin fun!! Thousands of lit carved pumpkins in many themes. The Wizard of Oz part was spectacular, Hudson underwater themes, and the themed food/beverage stop in a 300 year old tavern was great!

If you love Fall, Halloween, Jack O Lanterns, art, history, or just want something fun to do the Great Jack O Lantern Blaze is for you. The creations were amazing this year, even better than times past. Much love from Oneonta/Cooperstown.

A truly great experience that I highly recommend! You can bring little kids, too, it is not a scary place. Thumbs up to all the staff who carved those pumpkins, those who set them up, the volunteers working there, etc. I am very happy to have found out about this great adventure!

Our visit to Gorge Dam was a peaceful and scenic escape. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather, and the views around the dam were absolutely stunning great for photos and just soaking in nature. It’s a great spot to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and spend quality time with friends or family. We saw a few people having picnics and barbecues, which is a perfect way to enjoy the area. There’s a calm, laid back vibe that makes you want to stay for hours. There’s a $10 per vehicle entry fee, which is well worth it for the experience. If you’re looking for a nice spot to unwind, take in some beautiful scenery, and maybe grill up some lunch, Gorge Dam is definitely worth a visit.

A great place to go if you just want to sit and read or picnic with friends and family. Croton Gorge Park is a beautiful historical park with plenty of exploring, a playground and lots of open space for picnicking. There was also a food truck on sight when we went so if you didn’t bring food you could purchase from them.

Ideal location for outings with both family and friends. Bringing along camping gear can enhance the experience, allowing for extended relaxation. For those interested in hiking, a short trail is conveniently accessible. Additionally, an ice cream truck is on-site to provide relief from the heat. Adequate parking is provided (early arrival is recommended for optimal spot selection ;)). Exploring the nearby bridge is an option, although securing parking may prove challenging due to limited availability.
Dhaval P — Google review
A nice place to hangout with family. The waterfall area don’t have network access. You have to hike to the upper dam to get a great view . There are good facilities and parking facilities Then when you got a proper tour at that spot You can go to the park there are also some good scenery there. And police and security are also available there
Tayeeb S — Google review
Beautiful, epic, clean, amazing park. Pretty short, but steep walk up to the top of the dam. Worth it to see the other side, which is so cool looking. Dog friendly trails. Cool stuff to look at.

This is an amazing place. A place of energy and relaxation. The views are breathtaking. There is parking and a children's playground. There are picnic tables, but no grills. Good trails. You can ride bicycles. I definitely recommend visiting.

Croton Landing Park is a picturesque and popular destination in Westchester, offering stunning views of the Hudson River. The park features a mile-long paved route along the river, forming part of the 51-mile Westchester RiverWalk. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks while admiring the magnificent scenery and various reflections on the water's surface. The park also provides amenities such as parking, public restrooms, and a peaceful atmosphere suitable for families.
I was looking for a park to to visit to relax on this nice fall day so I decided to try this for the 1st time. Park is open 7 days a week, with free parking. Park is open to all residents and non alike. No fee to enter or park. It offers great views of the hudson river and rockland. Unfortunately i didn't see any playgrounds,This place is quiet, peaceful, come for a jog, a troll with your dog or just simply lay back and relax. There is a restrooms here, park is not big but the views and tranquility makes up for it. Definitely worth visiting.
Mikeyy L — Google review
Just a heads up the park with playground is for residents only! We were advised to go there by a local resident. The guy in the front is very rude and mean! From there, there’s another park about a 15 minute walk to a waterfront trail. Very pretty but the other park with playground is more practical for small children. The public park is a trail some benches and a grassy field. If you’re coming from far with small children it’s better to go somewhere else.
Julie C — Google review
Nice public walkway with great views of the Hudson. Particularly nice for watching sunsets. This park has the longest paved path of any park in Croton, with lots of benches; making it great for elderly pedestrians. The park can get quite busy at times. Hikers, birders, and trail runners should look elsewhere in Croton for more woodsy recreation.
Earl J — Google review
Beautifully maintained park with plenty to enjoy. There’s a gazebo for shade, a playground for the kids, wooden picnic tables with permanent charcoal BBQs, and plenty of benches along the walkways. The landscaping is lovely, and there’s even a sand volleyball court. One of the best features is the park’s location right along the Hudson River—about a third of the park borders the water. The highlight, though, has to be the sunsets. The view is wide open and unobstructed, with the sun setting over the Rockland terrain. The sky lights up and reflects beautifully off the river. A must-visit spot to take in one of the best sunsets around!
Paul C — Google review
I had a wonderful time with my son at Croton Point Park, searching for seaglass along the Hudson River's seashore. Despite the overcast weather, the park ran smoothly and wasn't very crowded. It's a fantastic community park with barbecue areas, hiking trails, and cool water. The peaceful atmosphere and sense of community made our visit special, reminding us of the beauty of nature and simple pleasures.
Jay M — Google review
A really nice place to bike to or walk to on the 2.5 mile trail. At the end of the trail, there's a piece of the world trade center as a memorial and the twisted metal piece really made me appreciate my freedom and the fact that I am here today writing this review. Great memorial for those lost at Croton Landing Park

The Croton Colonial Restaurant Diner is a classic diner offering comfort-food favorites like pancakes and burgers at any time of day. Located near Croton Dam, it provides a nice local dining experience. The restaurant's menu features American and diner classics, making it a great spot for those craving traditional comfort food in a relaxed setting.
Great size portions of really delicious food. Take a taxi to see the gorge, it is only a 15 minute ride from the diner.
Siobhan O — Google review
I sat down, got some food. All was well, until the hungry man breakfast I ordered was not just for the hungry man. My friend had a BUG in his pancake, as well as an eyelash on his bacon. Personally, I had a very long stringy hair of one of the cooks on my egg.. Honestly this seems like out of a movie or something. Marco, our waiter, didn't give me a free meal or any discounts. He had no sympathy with our unpleasant findings. Honestly I used to love eating here, until tonight. LIKE WHAT!
Sebastian J — Google review
Wow what a GEM of an establishment! Traditional diner atmosphere, very clean and quiet. Staff was immediately attentive and multiple staff checked in on us. Incredible variety of specials (see pic) and jazzed up traditions ( disco fries)along with traditional favorites. I had a hybrid of matzo ball soup with chicken noodle. Fresh herbs in the matzo was a nice surprise, and healthy size. My husband chose the Italian stallion, a formidable choice of 2 burgers, mozzarella sticks, provolone and salami. Very pleased with our meals and if we're in the area again, we're going back!
Robin C — Google review
Had brunch with friends there. It's clean, even though it was a busy day service was good, and there was no mix up in our orders, food was really good.. remember it's a diner.. not the place to order cordon bleu. Lol. If you're looking for a nice place to sit, relax, eat with friends at a decent price point, this is one option.

Nice place to grab many different dishes. Server was cool and friendly. Kobb salad was Yummy, chicken was tasty. Fish was not the usual batter. Owner was awesome. Will be back!

I was born in sleepy hollow ny and we moved when I was 6 months old. This place is so worth it, but the bacon is a little hard so you have to ask for soft if you like it that way. But this place is soon good.
Ryan S — Google review
Great food, great prices, very large number of options to choose from, large quantities, homely feeling, ample seating and parking. Strongly recommend. We went for lunch here and had western omelette, egg sandwich and spaghetti and meatballs. They all were quite good and came with sides like toast/fries. The kids menu actually has enough food for 2 kids and comes with milk/juice and cookie/pudding. Coffee is unlimited refills.

When my friend had the interesting request to go horse riding for her bachelorette, I didn’t know where to begin. I am so happy I found Westchester Trail Rides and Cowboy Bob! He was so kind, communicative, and flexible with scheduling. We were nervous about rain chances, so we pushed the time down and it magically cleared up in the afternoon. Who would’ve thought we would have clear skies and 70 degrees for our ride at the beginning of April?! Thank you to Bob and his son, Ethan, for a wonderful ride. We had the best time!
Lauren M — Google review
Visited on 5/18/25 for the first time! I’m a new rider never done it before! 1. There is a paved small parking lot 2. Great communication via phone and chat 3. Fast booking I’ve never rode a horse and this was my 1st time! Got a quick intro on how to behave around the horse and how to ride, which have followed with about 10-15 mins practice ride in the control settings to get a feel. The trail ride was a lot of fun, horses r well behaved and follow the lead easily. trail is within the forest hills that gave different ride settings, speeds and amazing views! Cowboy Bob is a lot of fun if u like stories and offered a lot of support during our 2 hours frequently checking on me if I were doing well. I highly recommend Westchester Trail Rides for anyone as it’s not just great for the first timers my partner who have done it before had enjoyed it quite a bit! Thanks Cowboy Bob!

Feeling stressed? Perhaps lying on a couch isn't the only solution. I needed a real break from work, and naturally, my mind went to golf, pickleball, tennis, or the gym—the usual suspects. Thankfully, my kids had a more inspired idea: riding lessons at Westchester Trail Rides. For one blissful hour, I completely escaped. No phones, no technology, just pure enjoyment in the backwoods. Aside from the occasional plane overhead, I felt transported to a simpler time. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced rider, you'll love the chance to get away from it all. And the best part? It costs a lot less than a session with a shrink. Now, I endeavor to ride at least once a month. You've truly got to give it a try!
Aron — Google review
A wonderful experience for my husband and I as well as our two children, ages 7 and 10. Cowboy Bob was responsive to return my call and schedule a ride for my family. It had been awhile since all of us had been on horses and Cowboy Bob gave an excellent refresher on riding horses and safety. The trails are beautiful and the track goes into their untouched forest. We rode with Lauren through brush and down to a large stream/small river where the horses waded and drank. It was an exciting ride through the forest but I also felt very comfortable and safe there. The horses are beautiful and sweet. Both my children felt very comfortable riding. Lauren let us brush and groom the horses after the ride. The chickens recently had baby chicks to watch and they had some fresh eggs to share which they gave to us. The children loved it so much they want to go back next month for my 10 year old's birthday. We will be returning for a ride next month for sure! Cowboy Bob seems like an interesting fellow, a guy with many stories. There is a photo of him inside the red barn riding a bucking bull. We all hope to return next month to hear some of his stories on his beautiful property. Thank you for the experience Cowboy Bob and Lauren!

My 14 year old daughter and I went on a trail ride this morning with Lauren. Lauren was a wonderful guide for our ride, so pleasant to talk to and knowledgeable. It was a relaxing and gorgeous ride through the woods and by the reservoir. My daughter rode Gabby, who was so sweet. I rode Chocolate, such a gentle giant. Cowboy 🤠 Bob was fantastic, extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. The horses are well cared for and loved. I highly recommend Westchester Trail Rides. We will definitely be back!

Experience the ultimate Halloween celebration at The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze in Croton-on-Hudson, New York. This annual event takes place at the 17th-century Van Cortlandt Manor and features over 7,000 intricately carved and illuminated jack o'lanterns. Witness the stunning artistry of on-site artisans who hand-carve each pumpkin to create a mesmerizing display that includes both classic favorites and new additions every year.
If you even remotely like jack o'lanterns, this is for you! It's a great event with hundreds, if not thousands, of experience carved pumpkins. Each display is themed and many of them change from year to year. We went at the earliest time. It wasn't crowded at first because it was still a bit bright out. After about 15 min it so it was dark and everything looked incredible. The pumpkin designs and scenes are well crafted and our son loved to see all of them. Parking was easy and the staff working the lot we're great. They knew what to do and wasted no time. If you can, but tickets in advance and go early. We went later last year and it was great, but I looked that it was a bit less crowded this time.
Dan M — Google review
My daughter and I really enjoyed the light show, despite rain. We took tons of cute pictures and were really amazed by the art. We enjoyed the gift shop as well, although the one candy my daughter wanted (pumpkin marshmallows) were hard and stale, every single bag, so she walked away sad empty handed. We did also really enjoy the treats at the snack shops. We purchased hot chocolates, hot apple cider, and apple cider donuts. The apple cider was good but not great. The donuts were a hit or miss (one was soft, warm and fresh, the second one although warm, was hard and stale). Lastly, the prices for the additional features like the headless horseman bar were super expensive. There was another feature also with another separate pricing. If they were an additional $15 or so, I might’ve bought into it, but I had to tell my daughter we couldn’t share in those experiences unfortunately. The lady admitting people told me it was around $80. Idk if that’s true or not but the entry to just Blaze was $56. Anyway, 4 stars for the overall pumpkin light show. Minus the 5th star for the factors mentioned. Would definitely go again!!
SB P — Google review
Great experience and worth it, have been going for the past several years with my wife. Make sure you get tickets a few weeks in advance as the slots tend to fill up quickly. If you go after 9 pm it’s a bit less expensive. Take your time and really soak in the impressive artistry and coordination that goes into setting up the event. They add new exhibits to keep things exciting while keeping a lot of the classics.
Mark C — Google review
Great family experience with young kids. The exhibits are always fun and it’s exciting to see what they add next year after year. We loved the Wizard of Oz yellow brick road. We visited the week after Halloween. The blaze was fantastic and the set up is always amazing! It’s always astounding to see thousands of carved pumpkins each year beautifully glowing in the night. You really have to take your time on the trail to truly respect the talent and time that goes into these carvings. I’ve lost track how many times we have gone here but it has become a yearly tradition that we cherish, and I recommend it anyone who loves Halloween and appreciates art.
Roninportfolio — Google review
The Jack O’ Lantern Blaze is probably one of the coolest Halloween events I’ve ever seen. We went the day before Halloween and bought our tickets early since we heard they sell out quickly. Just a heads-up: the tickets are pricey, non-refundable, and the event will not cancel even in the rain. They recommend checking the weather before you come, but that’s hard to do when you have to purchase tickets far in advance. Even with the rain and fog, we had a great time. Honestly, the weather made it feel even spookier. The displays were incredible and truly one of the best Halloween experiences I’ve ever had. I’m glad the event still went on despite the weather, but it would be nice to have a little flexibility with ticket changes or cancellations for those who book early.

The Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze is not just a Halloween event; it's an artistic masterpiece and an absolute must-see fall tradition. Stepping onto the illuminated, mile-long path feels like crossing the threshold into a purely whimsical and enchanting world carved entirely out of pumpkins. The sheer scale of the event is breathtaking. With over 7,000 hand-carved jack o'lanterns, the artistry on display is astounding. This isn't just about simple, spooky faces; we’re talking about elaborate, themed installations: colossal dragons breathing fire (made of pumpkins, of course!), massive, glowing dinosaurs, functioning carousel scenes, and even famous works of art recreated in gourd. The level of detail in the carvings is phenomenal, showcasing incredible creativity and technical skill. Every corner turned reveals a new, unforgettable vista.

We visited the week after Halloween. I don’t know what it is like leading up to Halloween but we had no problems parking and walking through. We got the package that allowed us to go inside (not the one where you get to sit) and get a snack and drink. If it was cold I think this would have been a great stop but the weather was great and the snacks and drink wasn’t amazing. There was a bathroom attached though, that we got to use, so that was nice! The blaze was amazing and the set up is fantastic! I really enjoyed everything! It took us about 40 minutes to walk through. Definitely recommend!

Didn't expect much but it was a lot better than anticipated. If you like Halloween theme and lights this is the place to be! The trail is laden with super cute and showy pumpkin lights. Kids must love this spot!

Ice cream shop
The Blue Pig in Croton-on-Hudson, NY is a charming eatery known for its delightful housemade ice cream crafted from locally sourced ingredients, some of which are grown right on the premises. The restaurant offers a cozy atmosphere and serves up delectable pies, sandwiches, and soups alongside their renowned ice cream. With its focus on using fresh, local produce, The Blue Pig has become a beloved spot for both residents and visitors to indulge in high-quality treats.
The Blue Pig is more than an icecream shop it’s always a positive experience the mostly high school aged staff is very attentive and friendly. I brought two of my nephews one who has a peanut allergy and they already had an allergy protocol in place they washed their hands, grabbed a clean scooper and even opened a fresh tub of homemade icecream. It made me feel at ease and we will definitely be coming back. Oh and they have an amazing bake case selection something for all vegan, gluten/ free and traditional baked goods. The homemade hot fudge is so rich and yummy and although I’m not vegan their Vegan Vanilla (made with coconut milk) with hot fudge on top is just delicious.

Not only is the ice cream homemade and delicious, but they also use local fresh ingredients. A couple of weeks ago they had a cantaloupe ice cream that was delicious and today a corn and blueberry ice cream using local corn. Delicious. They also have the usual flavors for those not as adventurous. They make homemade hot fudge and homemade whipped cream which is so hard to find anymore. Highly recommend

This is a gem! We stopped here on our was back from Croton Dam, reading the sign “homemade ice cream” and I am glad that we did!!! Very cozy place and great taste and flavors! I had espresso chips and peanut butter sugar cone crunch. Both were great but peanut was out of this world 😍 My wife has something with banana and she loved it too. A great great addition to the flavors was the wooden spoons. I love them

Absolutely Terrible Experience – Completely Overrated and Unprofessional I genuinely don’t understand how this place is considered a “town gem.” My experience here was frustrating from start to finish, and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone who values decent service or basic quality control. First of all, they messed up my order by giving me the wrong cone. Instead of fixing it properly like any normal ice cream shop would do, they literally dug out the scoop of ice cream and plopped it onto a different cone. No apology, no care — just sloppy and gross. I’m sorry, but if you mess up the order, the bare minimum is to remake it, not Frankenstein it together like some afterthought. As if that wasn’t bad enough, the cone for my second order was broken. When I politely pointed it out and asked if it could be swapped, I was met with a completely ridiculous response — one of the girls working there said, “All the cones are like that,” as if that makes it okay? And instead of helping, she and the cashier started laughing at us. I wish I was exaggerating, but nope — they actually stood there laughing. The level of rudeness and unprofessionalism was honestly shocking. If this is how they treat paying customers, I’m not sure how they’re still in business. And let’s talk about the ice cream: bland, forgettable, and nowhere near the “best in town” that people keep raving about. I’ve had better from a supermarket tub. Definitely not worth the hype or the attitude that comes with it. Save yourself the disappointment and go literally anywhere else. There are plenty of ice cream places that know how to treat customers with basic respect and actually serve a product worth eating. I will never be coming back, and I’ll be telling everyone I know to avoid this place.
Belliucci E — Google review
Staff is amazing, interesting flavor options and a pretty blue decor. Very mom and pop local spot you gotta try in town. They let you get half a scoop so you can try more which was cool. Everything was great but this place was hyped up like crazy. I was expecting the best ice cream in NY. I’ve had I’ve cream in some really good places and this was good but not the best Ice cream.

Excellent and friendly staff, great flavors with vegan options, and reasonable prices. The atmosphere is lovely. The shop itself is kinda small so most of the seating is outdoors.

Great little independent ice cream parlour. Home made ice cream in various different flavours with amazing generous portions. Thank you for our Blue Pig Experience. 💫

The hours online and at the location say the store is open until 10 pm. We drove 30 minutes to try what we’ve heard is spectacular ice cream. We arrive at 9:18 and found the doors locked. I called and asked the lady that picked up the phone if they were closed and she was extremely rude. Safe to say I will not be returning.

We followed the Pond Loop, marked with yellow. We found the trails to be well-marked and well maintained, and the hike was the perfect length and difficulty for our two young kids. A few notes: The parking lot is small and was full by the time we finished our hike at 9:45am, so I'd recommend going early. And definitely don't forget the bug spray! We will definitely be back soon to explore more of the trails.

Beer store
Nestled on Croton Point Avenue, The Green Growler is a laid-back craft beer shop and taproom offering an array of draft beers, wines, ciders, and growlers to go. Emphasizing products from independent breweries in the Greater Hudson Valley and New York State, it's conveniently located near the Croton-Harmon railway station and Croton Point Park. Visitors can savor unique beverages while enjoying food trucks and live music on weekends.
Ok- why would you go to a place with 3 star food? Because the food is actually the bar Trying hard to meet a need & building up: but THE DRAW this the anazing live musicJazz band & the after-Session jam session with even more jazz true lovers coming together to support their Art. Certainly worth it, the Craft Beer alone is worth it: but with the not-ear-drum-bursting jazz: just Wonderful

Evan and his team are the absolute best. I'm a local musician/promoter who runs all ages events. The Green Growler is the best place I go to for these events. An all ages space that is welcoming to the younger audiences despite the fact they mainly sell beer. The bar tenders are knowledgeable, helpful, and incredibly nice. They really develop a welcoming and friendly environment trying to be a cool spot for the people of Westchester to hang out and enjoy themselves. I love working with this place and will continue to do so in the future. You have to check this spot out!

I went there 4 times already and I must say that for a recent new comer to the US, this place is a hidden gem. Great craft beer selection and Evan (the owner) is a pretty awesome dude. I am a punk rock sound mixer and filmmaker from Lisbon, Portugal that has been touring the world since 1996 and I really thought that now living in corky expensive Westchester that it would be rare to feel and get in touch with “real scrappy people”, I guess I was wrong so thank you Growlers for having me, much appreciated. Last Tuesday was night jam sessions hosted by Paul Francis which is indeed an awesome fellow. Great jam ladies and gentlemen. P.s. my only two cents recco goes to the happy hour 🍻 it could definitely be a bit more attractive so i could spend all my afternoons at The Green Growler hehe

Had a great time at the Green Growler…. Talked with the owner for a bit and it’s nice to hear family and good stories! The food was good and the beer selection was vast. Make your own 6 pack or drafts and even non alcoholic choices. My pretzel/mustard was excellent. The pita/hummus was fresh and tasty. As much as I was there early I can see this as a fun place to hang out any time!! There’s live music and good friends, what more can someone ask!?!? Oh and on top of all that I was able to meet the new Hudson Valley Ambassador Marietta. Oh yes…. We Elites are in for it! Haha. I look forward to more events!
Nash W — Google review
Enjoyed coming here for a few quick bites and a nice draft. Discovered this gem through yelp. Such a nice staff. Very homie and down to earth. Loved the hipster vibes and the fact that you can build your own beer pack to go! The bites were extremely reasonable and cheap! I mean $3 pretzel and $2 pizza? $5 happy hour! This place is where it’s at! Definitely a place for small bites and pub style food. If covid wasn’t around it would def be a spot I’d normally go to to hang with friends and grab a few beers. Love the artsy vibes and the sticker wall as well as the fact that the staff will recommend what’s poppin and some of the staff faves. I was excited to try one of their sours. As soon as I ordered they let me know they ran out. They totally made my night. Not only did they comp the beer and let me have the last sips on the house but they also offered me a replacement. They happened to be carrying my favorite beer brewers from Hudson Valley Bewery. This sour was an even better option and I got to have the best of both worlds. Such a nice experience. Very few people and you can definitely just come here to order a few beers to go and some quick bites. Thanks guys for being open and for working hard!

Amazing place, great trails. My favorite trail is the connector to Brinton Brook because of the great overlook of the golf course.

Pretty neat preserve. But I initially was confused and didn't realize that you needed to drive through a golf course to get there. Some parts of the trail need repairs but not horrible. This was a lot of fun to visit. After driving through the golf course and parking it was a little wet out but easy to get around the loop. The trails are well designed and maintained but good shoes are recommended. We sat in the spot with some benches for a while it was nice to get lost in the forest for a bit.

Nice quiet place for a light hike and not crowded at all. There are a few options and they're not too long. There is also a wood plank path to learn more about the trees. There's a bunch of chipmunks and robins and occasional bluebirds. If you park in the first parking lot you encounter, it's a short walk past a golf course to get to the trails.

The marina provides easy access to trails and a canoe launch, making it ideal for bird watchers. Additionally, it is conveniently situated near car rentals and great restaurants within walking distance.
We had a fantastic visit to Half Moon Bay Marina. From the moment we approached the dock, everything was smooth and well-organized. The approach instructions were spot on, and we were greeted with a warm welcome and great line-handling help as we pulled in. Dockmaster Steve truly went above and beyond throughout our stay. Not only did he make sure we had everything we needed, but he even hand-delivered Amazon packages directly to our boat—something you just don’t see often. It’s clear he takes a lot of pride in the marina and works incredibly hard to make each guest feel taken care of. The marina is clean, well-maintained, and conveniently located. We felt supported every step of the way and left feeling genuinely appreciated. Highly recommend this stop—Steve and his team make it special.

Loved Half Moon Bay Marina so much we stayed an extra day. The harbor is well protected and docking is a breeze especially with the dock master, Steve at the ready. This is a walkers dream with foot paths along the Hudson and an easy 15 minute walk into town for groceries, etc. Steve provided ample links to sites to see and transportation to get there. We chose to dingy over to a nearby beach so our dog could swim. The sunset was amazing. Don’t miss this gem in Croton on Hudson.

From the very first contact, to our departure, Steve, Dockmaster, was very accommodating! Never minded all of my questions, no matter how busy he was! Marina was lovely. Views were magnificent! Considering how the Hudson can rock you, we were very well protected. Rented a car , short walk away, and saw many of the attractions in the area. Definitely go to Croton Dam! On top and in front! Amazing! West Point too! Thank you Steve for great memories!!!

We had a fantastic experience at Half Moon Bay Marina! Steve, the harbormaster, goes above and beyond. He made sure we had help docking and sent us an incredibly helpful email ahead of time with all the access codes we needed, plus a detailed list of things to do in the area. From local restaurants (with addresses!) to train info and sightseeing suggestions—it was all there and super convenient. There’s also a great spot just off to the left in the bay where you can drop anchor and spend a relaxing day on the water. And don’t miss the sunsets—Half Moon Bay puts on a beautiful show in the evening sky. Excellent communication, great location, and a warm welcome. Highly recommend! Linda M/V Sunshine State of Mind

Nice protected marina for all sizes of boats. Close to car rental, great restaurants in walking distance... Ocean House is the best, easy entrance from Hudson for transient boaters, lots to do... West Point, mansion tours, FDR museum, Culinary Institute of American (make reservations). Lots of slips available. Steve is a super responsive owner and works nonstop... downside: internet not reliable but did see new wiring happening. Pool is not available for boaters. Can easily spend 2-3 days exploring from here. A favorite for many boaters.

The marina is as advertised. The harbor master is super professional and eager to please with many suggestions for activities in the area. The break water is very effective. We had a strong front come through with 50 kt microbursts from the direction of the river and the berths were well protected. Looking forward to our next visit.

Protected marina, easy to find, easy walkability to restaurants. Steve’s, the owner, communication prior to arrival is by the far the best we’ve experienced. He emails a welcome packet with all kinds of useful information about the area, marina and how to get to NYC for a visit. He also will assist as you dock if needed. My one critique is the dock boards need a thorough check for nails and screws that are popping up, otherwise very happy with the marina and ownership!
Shaggy 5 — Google review
We experienced very excellent service and the staff and dockhands were a cut above the rest. WiFi worked great! Stellar views and unparalleled sunsets! The Black Cow Coffee Co in Croton is a charming and welcoming spot with a homey feel, friendly staff, and a joyful atmosphere. They offer great coffee, delicious baked goods, and even have gluten-free options available. The cozy interior provides plenty of comfortable space while outside there are beautiful benches to relax on. Additionally, the shop features a lovely gift shop with unique selections. I had regular coffee that was great! The coffee was fresh and flavorful with a cranberry scone that was perfect for the cool fall weather. The place has a wonderful atmosphere and was full of people having a good time. I loved strolling through the onsite bookstore which is such a welcoming addition. Very pleasant staff. I had a beautiful morning start to my day. Will definitely go back!

Offers lots of baked pastries, good specialty drinks, and relatively quick service. The place itself is quite cozy, with a few armchairs and several tables for sitting in groups. Also has a bookstore area!

Such a cute find. This coffee shop has tons of seating plus a bookstore attached. Very vintage feels. The lavender latte was so delicious . I paired that with a lemon and pistachio biscotti. Definitely coming back here
Lorizbeth — Google review
I'm a regular customer, but I do have to warn others that the baristas are often so busy socializing with each other that they pay little attention to important distinctions in your order -- like specifying decaf. This has ruined a couple of mornings for me...

If only all coffee shops were like the Black Cow… This is what all coffee shops should be like! Cozy, welcoming, great vibes, and fantastic coffee. Pastries too! They roast beans on-site so the Black Cow always smells great. Terrific hot and cold beverage options. The Black Cow is an integral part of the community. Family and kid friendly. People working on laptops. Kind staff. Always a pleasure to pop in and enjoy.

Best spot I have found for coffee in Croton. Lovely place with a home feel, friendly staff, good service and joyful atmosphere. Great coffee, and very good attention to their practices as well as their baked goods. Love the gluten free options. Great location! Overall, there was plenty of comfortable space inside, and some beautiful benches outside, if you want to look out into the street. Very lovely gift shop, with some facinating, unique and esoteric selections. Looking forward to coming back to this place!

No morning routine is complete without a trip to the Black Cow. The staff is amazing & the coffee is fresh. Pick up a pound of their freshly roasted coffee beans, done on site. And their pastry selection is something that will make you pause with indecisiveness on what delicious baked good to eat.

Silver Lake Park & Beach in Croton on Hudson is a delightful retreat that offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. This charming spot features a small beach area perfect for swimming during the summer months, complete with lifeguards ensuring safety. The tranquil atmosphere makes it an ideal place for relaxation, fishing, or enjoying a picnic amidst lush greenery. As you explore the park, you'll discover pathways leading to a spacious gazebo where you can savor lunch while soaking in nature's beauty.
It is a beautiful beach with a designated swimming area guarded with lifeguards. Open to *Croton Residents Only!*.Guests of residents can come with a higher fee. For residents: Adults $9, Kids/Sr $5. For Guests, Adults $14 and Kids/Sr $10. Prices lower after 5pm.

The map doesn't say it's private, I drove 2 hours to get there and have two teenagers pick you up, is this legal in the state? And I don't understand what the purpose of being private is if it is dirtier than the public ones.
Boutique S — Google review
Great little hidden gem in Croton on Hudson, with swimming and a great place to just chill out. The swimming area has lifeguards but they do charge to get in even if a resident 👎👎. But if you go down the pathway and make a right away from the beach you'll see a fairly large gazebo. You can have lunch and walk down to the rocks and walk around or just enjoy mother nature's sounds.
Henry M — Google review
Very upset at this location As I am a cortland resident. The Croton river and parks of the State of NY don’t belong to the white people of croton. This place should be public access with feeds. Unacceptable! 🤦🏽‍♀️
Scarleth P — Google review
Only able to access if you are a resident of the expensive, >90% white village of Croton-on-Hudson. Ridiculous. They should have a sign up at the beginning. So dumb. I will put on yelp and other places for people to know before hand. 😒
Diannah R — Google review
They don't advertise this, but if anyone hears any thunder, at any distance, the park is then closed for the following 30 minutes and everyone is required to go back up to the parking lot. How absurd! No refunds of course.
Ish S — Google review
A beautiful spot for Croton residents who pay the taxes that support and maintain lifeguards that patrol this area. This beach is way too small for the general public to just come in. Quiet, filled with natural beauty. Warning: Every year someone drowns in the Croton River in places without lifeguards. You want to live here and pay the high taxes? Come.
J D — Google review
Seems like a beautiful beach to swim at, and I would like to go there, but my sister and I were not allowed to get in just yet -- note that during the time of the pandemic, you need to make a reservation on the Croton website to enter the beach. Also, the ranger told us that we would need to receive a parking sticker for entrance (I am assuming it is mailed).

Real estate agent
The Nancy Kennedy Team at Houlihan Lawrence stands out as the premier real estate team in Westchester and Putnam Counties, boasting a wealth of experience that spans decades. Their commitment to client satisfaction is evident through their exceptional service, which often goes beyond typical industry standards. Clients have praised Nancy for her extensive knowledge and friendly demeanor, particularly highlighting her adept pricing strategies and negotiation skills. The team's compassion shines through during emotionally challenging transitions, such as downsizing from long-term homes.
Experience with Nancy Kennedy and her team was great. We found Nancy to be extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and spot on with her pricing and negotiating strategy. Megan Coxen was terrific in showing us what was out there. There are no words for Colleen Coxen. She was our rock. She would no doubt make an outstanding therapist! Amongst other things, she negotiated a contingency for our condo based on sale our house and got the condo owner to remediate asbestos insulation in garage. And through it all grounded us during some really tough times. We're thrilled with the results. Highly recommended!
Michael S — Google review
We were downsizing from a large home we lived in for over 28 years. Nancy and her team were very compassionate about a tough emotional process, extremely knowledgeable about our market, very professional, highly communicative and just a great group of people at the agency. Overall, felt like we mattered and we were not just a transaction. Nancy also helped us find a great interim rental property not far from our home. Will work with Nancy and her team when we are ready to buy our next house.
Peter M — Google review
I've had the pleasure of working with Nancy Kennedy and her team twice, now. Both in the sale of my long-time home in Croton-on-Hudson in 2010 and in the sale, this year, of my co-op apartment in Ossining, Nancy and her team were everything I could have hoped for. Both, home and co-op, sold within days and the contract processes and closings were totally painless. They are the only game in town!
Charles S — Google review
So, we looked for a one level ranch for over 2 years and drove Nancy and her team absolutely crazy. Then we found it and it was like a marathon race for 62 days which was CRAZY! Nancy and her team navigated us through the buying process and the selling process (we had to sell in order to buy). I don't know how she / they did it but 62 days later we closed on the sale at 10 am and on the buy at 1 pm. We sold for $100K over asking thanks to her advise and guidance, which changed our lives for the next 15 years to be honest. Every time I called or texted Nancy she responded calmly no matter how stressed I was or how stupid the question was. I would recommend Nancy and her team to EVERYONE! I still can't believe it was only 62 days and everything went smoothly. Nancy is the best, but honestly I hope I never need to use her again because I never want to move again- I am getting to old for this. LOL!!!
Timothy T — Google review
Nancy and Megan and team were amazing through out the process. They say you don't need a real estate agent in the internet age, don't believe it and lose money and opportunity. Nancy and team guided us through the process and helped us make critical decisions along the way. They priced it right!
Larry S — Google review
Nancy and her team are professional, responsive, courteous, helpful, compassionate, detailed and they helped make our decision to move to the next stage of our lives much easier! I didn't have many questions of Nancy because she was always so informative I didn't need to ask. Selling our family home after living there for 35 years was a bit overwhelming for us for so many reasons and Nancy helped us make the transition with ease. We interviewed several Realtors and selected Nancy because she was genuine and clear with us upfront and set very realistic expectations and I didn't feel like I was being "sold" something. We accepted an offer within 10 days of hitting the market after receiving and negotiating multiple offers and our final sale price was slightly above what Nancy estimated upfront. Nancy is extremely knowledgeable about her business and has a true grasp on the current market conditions and this gave us great confidence that we made the right decision to have her represent us and the sale of our home. We are very appreciative of Nancy and her team and I highly recommend Nancy Kennedy and her Team to any Seller or Buyer and you will be very happy with your choice! The results will tell the best story!
Kurt D — Google review
A big thank you to the Nancy Kennedy team. In particular, Colleen, Erin, and Meghan. You all made the experience of selling our home very easy. You also gave good advice on the process of selling a home. Everyone was very responsive to my questions and phone calls when needed.. I would definitely use the Nancy Kennedy team again to either buy or sell a home. Thank you once again.
Tom G — Google review
Nancy and her team are top drawer! When we thought about selling our home a few years back there was no question that'd we'd work with the Nancy Kennedy team. The group is professional, smart , fun and honest. They get the job done and then some. And most importantly, they are caring, thoughtful and empathetic, recognizing that buying or selling a home involves a whole lot more than just the transaction.

Nice dog park set back in the woods. Croton River runs by the park and the dogs loved swimming. The dog park itself was dusty and not much grass but the river right there was nice.

Don't let the one star fool you, this park is top tier. If your dog likes running through a river before chasing around their friends in the dirt this is certainly the place for you,,, if you're a resident of Croton on Hudson. It's a shame, there's plenty of places in the area that are lovely but refuses access to outsiders.

I have been finding useful items as well as gifts and whimsical treasures in this gallery for many years. The place is chock-a-block with myriad items. There is something for everyone and the prices are very fair. Although I have never tried to "barter" like the previous reviewer, I have never experienced an unreasonably priced item, so I have never felt the urge to bargain down the price either. I highly recommend this place for those who enjoy browsing through many fascinating objects.
Kathleen S — Google review
The owners were very friendly to us. We went inside a small room and looked through some crates. They had old maps and prints from artists who were part of the WPA. We had fun going through the old postcards. These were small gems and reasonably priced between $3 and $5. The woman shared lots of fun facts about the postcards while we looked through.

have never written a review. But ive never been treated so disprectfully. I walked into the store yesturday and told the owner i was so excited cause i loved the store years ago as a kid and havent been there since. I looked around and found some things i wanted. She refused to give me prices, told me ahe had to research them. Then she very abruptly kicked me out and told me she was closed and gave me her number to call back another time. I called a few hours later and she told me she still needed to research. I called today thinking i would ask what her hours were so id go in durring normal hours as there isnt anything online. She answered, told me she didnt want me to come back, and dont call cause im upsetting her. I have never been treated like that before. She is a lunatic. And i was a paying customer who was excited to be at her store. I cant believe you treat people like that. Noone was in the store. And i called back simply to find out your hours cause i wanted to come in on a day you were open and see what else you had i might want to buy. I very much liked your store. Bottom line, you dont treat a customer like you did. Especially one so excited to shop at your establishment.
