The National Eagle Center, situated in downtown Wabasha along the Mississippi River, is a renowned non-profit organization dedicated to educating visitors about bald eagles. The center offers year-round access and features an observation deck with stunning views of the river. It serves as an important landmark in Minnesota, providing valuable insights into cultural, natural, and historical aspects of the region. Visitors can enjoy engaging exhibits and informative presentations while also learning about American history.
Just visited and wow! What a gem of a museum! Lots of interactive elements to keep little ones occupied and very educational. How cool to see the eagle ambassadors up close in the viewing room! We upgraded our ticket to include the program and are so glad we did. Grant was exceptional and clearly very knowledgeable and passionate about eagles and conservation. Highly recommend!

Such a marvelous place to visit to learn about the natives who once called this town home and to see and learn more about our national bird. The employees are so knowledgeable, kind, and patient. We had a wonderful visit, just wished we came earlier, but we happened upon this jewel of a place. They have scopes where you can see the eagles in the trees across the way. There are exhibits that pay respect to so many things eagle related and American, including how women contributed to the military. They tie it in beautifully. I'd love to visit again with my grandchildren. Kids and adults who really enjoy learning would likely really enjoy this place.
Freddi — Google review
I love this place! There is an informed staff who are pleasant and obviously really enjoy their work there. They have live eagles you can see (but behid glass so perfectly safe), examples of other wildlife (not live) so as to give an environmental look. Lots of information about eagles and how we can help preserve their habitat to keep them safe. There is also a wonderful display of Native American culture and the part the eagles play in it.
Nadine N — Google review
It was my 2nd time visiting by boat. Really nice dock and ramp. Staff were nice and helpful. Definitely book the behind the scenes ( I didn't do this but ive heard good things ) kid friendly and book worm friendly. A lot of info to read. Especially upstairs. Overall loved it...!!!
Kaiden ( — Google review
What a gem while traveling up the mighty Mississippi, beautiful building right on the water with bald eagles flying overhead. Had a display of one of the recovery birds at the interactive session. Top-notched facilities and super friendly staff. This is not a national park, but presentation and quality are right there. Definitely worth the stop while heading north.
Chadwick — Google review
The National Eagle Center visit was extraordinary! I booked the behind the scenes tour, and we were blown away. We were up close with the majestic ambassadors. Thanks to Tiffany, we learned quite a bit about each bird and also created enrichment for 3 of the ambassadors. We were so enamored that we adopted Angel, Perseus, and Was’aka! I would encourage you to visit the National Eagle Center. There are so many exhibits to see. They have many different tours including cruises, school field trips, and overnight field trips. I’m sure you will also find a memorable keepsake at the gift store.

This is one of my favorite parks in one of my favorite small MN towns of Wabasha. It is an immaculately kept park that is right beside the Eagles museum. A spectacular view. A beautiful spot for a photo shoot.

I loved the eagles inside that we were able to be close to. The person telling about them was very knowledgeable. I did think there was more to the center but not disappointed.

Hoppy Girl Brewing, voted Minnesota's top brewery by fans in the Star Tribune, offers a diverse selection of small-batch brews with unique flavors. Located on Bridge Avenue in Wabasha, this woman-owned business provides a welcoming atmosphere for beer enthusiasts. In addition to their signature Salted Caramel Russian Imperial Stout and Chubby Chipmonk Pale Ale, they also serve guest taps, wine, cider, hard seltzers and non-alcoholic beverages.
Great beer! Very enjoyable day. The town of Wabasha is a small quaint town on the Mississippi

Hoppy Girl Brewing is such a charming little gem in Wabasha, MN. I haven’t been able to visit as often as I’d like, but every time I do, it’s a fantastic experience. Even though I’m not a beer drinker, I always find something to enjoy — their ciders are delicious, and on a recent visit for an event, they had frozen/slushy drinks that were absolutely perfect for a hot summer day! What really stands out is the heart and passion Brenda puts into this place — it’s clear she truly cares about the experience she creates for her guests. There’s nothing quite like soaking up the summer sun on the patio, enjoying live music, and spending time with friends. Highly recommend checking it out, whether you’re a beer lover or not!

We stopped by during the Grumpy Old Man Fest and had such a great time! Great beer and super friendly. Looking forward to coming back when we can stay and enjoy for longer. I would love to try the pizzas!
Rosei S — Google review
Great atmosphere, very friendly! White Ukrainian Slushie was fantastic. Thanks Brenda :)
Nick G — Google review
This brewery is amazing! I was ecstatic to drive by the building and catch a glimpse of the sign that said "Back Alley Brewing Co". YES. So happy there's finally a brewery in Wabasha! And not just any brewery with any old beer... Ford (head brewer) makes incredible beers! We tasted the Mango Milkshake IPA, the Triple Black IPA, the Salted Caramel Milk Stout, and the Bourbon Barrel Aged Belgian Dark Ale. I'd give each one 5/5 stars. He knows how to brew! The tap room is so cozy and inviting. The pizzas there are delicious. You have to order one! Brenda and Ford are so much fun - engaging, quirky, easy-going, and down to earth. There are games to play and a TV to watch sports. I can't wait to come back to sit outside at the picnic tables and enjoy a brew in the fresh air. Thanks for an unforgettable experience and addictively delicious beers!
Tech T — Google review
Love the beer here and the atmosphere was so calm and relaxed, was rainy and still had fun! Great recommendations from the owner. Very nice people,i watched the owner pluck some of her own home grown basil and give it to one of her customers, very friendly here and laid back.

This was my third time staying at Turning Waters Bed and Breakfast, and I hope to return many more times. Hoppy Girl Brewery is great fun. The Brewery offers unique drinks and a sense of community. Brenda's five-course breakfasts are delicious and beyond compare. The Bed and Breakfast is beautiful, comfortable, and inviting. Brenda blends good food and drink with interesting conversation to foster camaraderie among guests. Definitely a five star stay!
Sherry H — Google review
Such a cool place with really good brews. We really like them all so much and everyone is so friendly (owners and locals alike). A word of warning, Brenda is the only person allowed to put LPs on the turntable.

Restaurant
Slippery's Bar & Grill is a riverside establishment located near Beach Park and Parkside Marina on the Mississippi River. Originally a boat yard and marina, it has transformed into a restaurant, gas station, and bait shop. While it was featured in the movie 'Grumpy Old Men,' the actual bar used in the film is in St. Paul, Minnesota. Despite this, Slippery's offers a friendly atmosphere with great service and delicious food.
I had the Walleye sandwich and pork nachos. Both were very good! Nice atmosphere, right on the water. Great service!
Karen L — Google review
Cool bar and restaurant right on the river. Food was good. Staff was friendly. Seasonal outdoor seating. Lots of Grumpy old Men ( the movie). Stuff. Parts filmed here?
Jen H — Google review
Awesome Awesome. The food is a typical fare for a restaurant n bar. We got seated served, and food out really fast while the place was absolutely packed. No Putz's on this payroll!
John M — Google review
Only reason for not rating food is the fact we stopped in for beer and bloody Mary's and both were awesome. Our bartender was simply awesome as she was so welcoming and made it feel like it was a neighborhood spot even though we are in Minneapolis. There was a good size wedding group there and based on viewing the food they ordered, all 4 of us were impressed. You need to consider adding them to your bucket list when you are in the area or make it a road trip and add them to your list. Awesome levity and ironically, no grumpyness! You will so enjoy the ambiance and don't forget to stop in to the gift shop! Great experience!!
Michael S — Google review
Fast service and delicious food. It’s right on the river so the view is also a pretty cool as well. Plus, they fry in beef tallow! Which is great for those looking to avoid seed oils when they eat out. Highly recommend!
Emily P — Google review
We were looking for a fun lunch stop on our way home (we seem to do this a lot) and we had never been to the famous Slippery’s. The Grumpy Old Men movie memorabilia was fun to see. We like outdoor seating and we had the choice of two areas. We opted for the patio outside the bar because it was covered and offer the best views of the river. The upper patio consists of tables with umbrellas as well as a small bar rail. It looked like a small band was setting up to play as we were leaving Service was prompt and easy. The burger and the walleye sandwich were both good. There were plenty of other options that looked good as we were walking by the other tables as well We will be back again on a warm sunny Sunday … after we watch the movie again
Steve N — Google review
Great food and service. Loved all the pictures and stories about Grumpy Old Men.
Brenda S — Google review
Very cute restaurant with a great location. They have ample outdoor seating to watch the boats along the River and a large dock. The food was not as good as I had hoped but I will definitely try it again sometime to see if it’s changed. They also have a lot of old menu items on previous reviews so make sure to check their website for the current menu as many things are no longer available. The spaghetti was decent but the shrimp tacos were poorly seasoned and had a lot of cheese that didn’t blend well with the cabbage and crema.

Fine dining restaurant
The Olde Triangle Pub in Wabasha is a cozy and traditional Irish-inspired pub that offers a mix of Irish specialties and classic bar food like burgers. It's known for its warm and friendly atmosphere, making it a favorite watering hole among locals and visitors alike. The pub also provides entertainment, creating a relaxing experience for patrons. Visitors can enjoy delicious meals such as broiled walleye dinner, shepherd's pie, and salmon specials.
We enjoyed our visit to the pub and would recommend it if you are an Irish pub fan. Smithwicks on tap here is a big plus being a personal favorite and not being able to find it on tap in a lot of places. The pretzel bites appetizer is awesome with the cheese sauce. Very buttery and crispy bites were a perfect way to start. The paddymelt and pork tenderloin was good and the pub chips made it even better. Fresh potatoes made just right into chips was very good.
WI B — Google review
My husband and I ate there on a Friday night. It wasn't very crowded and the service was great. The bar has a cozy atmosphere with a nice wood bar and high top tables and booths. We both had the fish and chips which were great. We ordered a side of coleslaw which was some of the best we've ever eaten. The Guinness on tap was awesome. We would definitely eat there again.
Mary R — Google review
They didn't have a black n tan when I was there, only a half and half. Still delicious. Marvelous food, the mushrooms are so juicy. Cold drinks and friendly service.
Noah H — Google review
Very good food! Staff was very friendly and hospitable! When the menu says chips, it means slices of fried potatoes. Delicious!

Sept 17th 2022 What Good Luck🍀coming into town during SeptOberfest…..this lively lil pub is a must. Friendly atmosphere, cold beer & delicious food. There was outdoor patio live music. I ate inside which offered up groovy tunes too!

Bangers and mash were good. My friend had the Salmon special and enjoyed it. Hopefully we weren't to much of a problem for the bartender.
Kevin S — Google review
We each had two beers which tasted so good tonight. Instead of main courses, we split three appetizers. The buttered mushrooms were delicious. The Irish take on nachos was good but difficult to eat. The onion rings were to die for. Waitress was friendly and attentive. We recommend you give it a try.

Sometimes individuals create a space. It is difficult to find the right words for Pam and Kris at Coffee Mill. Initially, Pam worked with two children and gained their trust while enhancing their abilities. She was exactly what they needed. Similarly, Kris also worked with two kids and displayed remarkable qualities - he was lively, great with children, and had a pleasant personality. He went above and beyond by offering more help than expected, making the day on the mountain truly unforgettable.
Sometimes people just make a place. I CANNOT find the appropriate words for Pam and Kris at Coffee Mill. First, Pam worked with two of my kids and had their confidence, as well as their skills, soaring. She was exactly what they needed. Kris also worked with two of my kids and was just marvelous - upbeat, great with kids, and personable. He went over and beyond and helped me out more than I could have asked for and made our day on the mountain a really memorable one. Both of these instructors just want to see kids/people learn and it was just way more than I could have asked for. Thanks Kris and Pam for going the extra mile for those learning how to ski.

I learned to ski here in the late 90s, I've skied all over the world....now im back teaching my kids to ski here. If you learn here you can ski anywhere! Also love the family feeling, the out door fire pit, the long trails for SE MN, night skiing!! So much to offer
Michael C — Google review
Great little local spot! Friendly staff, no lift lines, steeper slopes than I had expected, and plenty of variety for Minnesota! Good cookies too
Cora E — Google review
Been going there every Sunday ! Little packed but best prices in town , staff are extremely friendly and their food and drinks menu are unbeatable ! The slopes are well groomed and they ski patrol staff are really helpful and friendly ! Highly recommend this place !

Smaller hill, but definitely a nice place. Low rates on lift tickets and rentals, and really good food. (I'd recommend the charcoal grilled burgers, and the Wild Rice soup)
Sean O — Google review
Helpful friendly staff and instructors. Plenty of options for ski rentals. Great experience for our family.
Amber B — Google review
After looking at multiple ski hills we decided to go to Coffee Mill. We were very pleased! We had to rent equipment and the equipment was name brand and good condition! We decided to bring our kids there because one of the lifts was a little bit slower and more spaced between, we figured it would be easier for them to learn getting on and off the lift. After see how our kids did for the first time we decided to get them all lessons, now that was money well spent! Our instructor was Kris and he was phenomenal!! 20 minutes into the first lesson out 3 older kids were able to go to the top of the hill and make it down the greens! Our youngest needed another lesson the following week and can now make it down the beginner hill all by herself! We have been going back every week! Unfortunately we missed out on the season passes but we will definitely be getting them next year!
Luke H — Google review
Great family place. They Groom in the morning which means the snow is really soft. It hasn't set up overnight like the hills that groove in the night Before. It is small . It has only 2 lifts but play originate close to the chalet. That beings it's great for families because they're always winding up at the same place after a run. They also have a chair lift that stops part way up the Hill. This chair is extremely popular for parents skiing with their young kids. They get to ride a chair lift and then skied on a very nice but short beginners run. Except on the one race day of the year the lift lines are really quite short. Senior lift tickets are only $15. So runs park pretty much street fall line runs. Nothing with a multiple fall line to deal with. And because of E older Lifts The green and blue runs are not really crowded and this makes of very comfortable for beginners and families. As you can likely pick up this is One of those secret spots. It's Worth checking out if you've never been there.

The BPG Company did a wonderful job getting us prepared for a lovely kayak trip in the gorgeous Chippewa delta! I’ve driven past this location many times and always wanted to see it from the water. It did not disappoint! My family ranging from 9-44 years of age had a great time exploring, splashing and floating down the delta path! We are going to do it again when the waters higher. We’re also planing a kayaking/camping trip with BPG too!

Espoir was the amazing guide who led us through the Flooded Forest! She was very knowledgeable about the river, birds and animals that live near by. It was such a beautiful tour! I Highly recommend Broken Paddle Guiding Co tours!!

Loved the views. Started off nice and sunny but towards the end we got poured on. Guides were great! I can now say I crossed the Mississippi by hand in the rain. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested.

Wylie was a fantastic guide— very knowledgeable and encouraging toward me and my first-timer companion. The route we took was absolutely gorgeous, too. Saw a few beaver lodges, a turtle, and even had a bald eagle fly over our heads! If you’re ever in Wabasha or any nearby towns, it’d be a real shame to skip out on this experience. Broken Paddle was the best part of our vacation, hands down. Thanks again, guys! Keep up the good work!
Barbara M — Google review
Cole & Drew took good care of us. A thorough paddle lesson and Cole’s patience made for a very successful sunset paddle on the Mississippi River. Our sunset paddle was one of the highlights of our trip to the area and it was a unique way to see the area from a different point of view from the water.

We had another great experience with Broken Paddle. Booking is very easy. Communication is timely and thorough. They go through safety first and then it is time to enjoy. Taylor was our guide and he was so patient with the inexperienced, easy going, and shared so much wonderful information about the nature and biology of the river as we went along. Always checking to see how we were doing. It was a great experience and we are eager to go again. Thank you so much.

We hosted our rehearsal dinner here in mid July of 2025. Working with Chris was great and he was very helpful. All of the staff we interacted with were very nice, especially the bartenders even after a long night. We had our food catered by Meatheads Catering and drinks via the bar. The location was absolutely stunning and we received lots of compliments from our guests on the view from the dining room. Looking back I would have considered even having our wedding here if we had less guests! It is truly a great spot.

We stopped in for as light dinner and a glass of wine. Really a nice place, although the menu is a bit more like a bar menu - mostly sandwiches, and fried foods. They have a typical bar with some big screens that looked like a great place to watch a game, and a really nice dining room, all with the 31 mile view up the Mississippi River valley. Bar
Silver Star Saloon and Grill is a relaxed establishment that offers a fresh twist on burgers and traditional pub dishes, alongside live music. This venue provides an elegant ambiance and excellent service, reminiscent of the bars seen in Western cowboy films, making it an attractive spot for tourists. The appetizer stuffed mushrooms, which have won awards, are richly creamy and delightful. The nachos are also enjoyable.
It was probably not the best thing to live across the street from the Saloon as we probably spent far too many hours there but now that we've moved we realize they were many, many fine hours with great friends and wonderful employees. Their Edmond Fitzgerald porter was quickly a favorite and their cheese curds became my favorite comfort food. We want to thank all of you there and say we miss you all and the great food, drinks, and conversation. (And I promise not to EVER have three martinis again!)
David W — Google review
The bartender Alex was amazing! He was very helpful and gave great recommendations on the menu. Silver star has a valuable employee that cares about the customer and business!
Jeremy M — Google review
Silver Star Saloon is hands down one of the best spots in Wabasha! The food is always wonderful— great portions, perfectly cooked, and full of flavor. The staff is friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home every time. Whether you’re there for dinner, drinks, watching the Vikings, or live music, the atmosphere is always fun and welcoming. The staff are awesome folks. Definitely a local favorite and a must-visit if you’re in the area!
Kilee J — Google review
Classy atmosphere, services are good. It looks like the bar in the western cowboy movies, a good place for tourist. I love the awards winning appetizer stuffed mushrooms, it tasted really creamy and delicious. The nachos are nice too. My friends ordered boneless chicken wings with honey BBQ sauce. I am happy with the variety of foods and beers available, especially the burgers, too many choices.
Wenney L — Google review
I had the Juicy Lucy and my husband had the Saloon burger. They were both absolutely amazing! The fries were perfect and seasoned well. Will go back to try their wings!
Courtney P — Google review
So my husband and I were traveling and needed a stop for a beer and a bite to eat, we walked in and it was fairly busy but there was one booth open and I asked to be seated there and was told no we prefer to save that for a bigger group, however that booth would only fit one more than the regular booth. The man there was extremely rude, I always ask for a lower table due to my heart and circulation condition, now if I had been in a wheelchair like I was before would I have been told to sit at a high top table then too. Not accommodating at all and rude attitude. This is a definite skip if you have any health issues at all. We immediately left after the attitude. Clearly this is a place for locals only.
Katie K — Google review
The man waiter was not very polite to us we came in there from a bus trip. And made our order go in last with 4 other couples came. The lady bar tender didn't like any of us there either.
Holly D — Google review
Didn't eat. But we werent regulars. And the staff clearly knew it. Got a round of drinks, finished them, waited 20 minutes while sitting at the bar top, didnt get acknowledged, left.

American restaurant
We visited Riverboat Lanes, an American restaurant and bowling alley, to celebrate a birthday party. The birthday boy wanted to bowl, so we used Google Maps to find the place. Overall, it was a positive experience. The bowling lanes were well-maintained and in excellent condition. The food, including pizza and cheese bread, was enjoyable. However, the customer service at the front counter could have been better. The electronic scoring system added convenience to our game.
We had a pizza and chicken delivered to our motel room. It was the best damn pizza and chicken we have had maybe ever. I couldn't believe how hot the food was after being delivered. I wish you were in my area.
Bobbie W — Google review
Food is usually really good but they need to change their number online because we try to call it and we can’t get through
Jacob W — Google review
amazing food… but i’m convinced the staff hate their jobs. rude verbally and just their body language in general. asked for a drink and got the eye roll of a lifetime. other than that a great place
Denis J — Google review
The server was very nice, but had to wait over an hour for our pizza, pizza was good. Canceled the rest of the food going on 2hrs for the rest of our food. Disappointed 😞 but like I said the server was a real nice man.
Irene H — Google review
Great food (love the no tap wrap), attentive servers, and always worth the wait. Thank you!
Jacqueline W — Google review
The bar tender at 1st seemed like we had inconvenienced her by sitting at a table (your facial expressions and body language speak large volumes) our pizza was great and drinks were slow and obviously inconvenienced the bartenders social life. Apparently table service closes at a certain time even when you’re the only customers in the place. We tried to get the bartender’s attention when he passed the table to ask if the lady left as we made it a point to cash out our tab and tip her. before even knowing what we were going to say he just looked at us and said table service is closed and kept walking… I am a bar tender and my boss would fire me on the spot for treating a customer in that manner and even more so when they are the only customers in the bar. In fact even if table service is closed I’m expected to take care of the only customers in my bar at their table not inconvenience them to fit my liking. If our bar is full and I’m busy I kindly let them know they are welcome to stay as long as they’d like but may need to come up to the bar to order. I strongly recommend hiring people who want to be there and who want to serve the customers with a enthusiasm and a smile.

We were at Lark Toys celebrating a birthday party and the birthday boy wanted to bowl. We typed in bowling into Google Maps and here we are. Overall it was a great experience. The lanes were were in great shape and meticulously being cared for while there. The pizza and cheese bread were good, front counter service meh, electronic soring is always a plus,, and we left with smiles after having a good time.

Beach Park in Wabasha, Minnesota offers a serene and leisurely experience with its lovely beach park and river walk. The park is situated on the banks of the Mississippi River, providing a picturesque setting for activities such as swimming and picnicking. Visitors can enjoy the sandy beach area, grassy picnic spots, walking and biking paths along the river, as well as a playground for children. The pavilion is ideal for gatherings, while the no-wake zone ensures safe swimming access.
Great place to stop in the shores of the Mississippi in historic City of Wabasha. There's a beach, little walking path and nice, more natural playground with rocks that is great for climbing and jumping.
Ryan B — Google review
A well-kept, tranquil, and lovely park with an Awww-inspiring view. It was a drizzly summer day when we visited which may have facilitated the tranquility. LOL It also has an adorable sort of rugged configured play area for children. However, I am not too sure about children climbing and playing around those stones. In any event, it's a lovely little park. In a charming little town with several great places to eat. The Eagles museum and tour boat is a must. Wabash is one of my favorite towns in MN. They always have some event or festival going on, especially in the fall and winter. I do miss GrandPa's Barn.

It's a nice park. Has a platform for people to fish off but not sure if the fish would be good eating. Water is not the cleanest. Lots of birds...ducks etc..play ground. I use it to walk towards the marina and the walking trail.

It is a smaller park. The kids play area was small but my grandkids had fun on it. There were some flowering trees which were pretty. The water the park is by was a little high though so parts of the park were not usable

I came across this wonderful gallery while making an unrelated purchase. Co-owner Rob Trussell graciously showed me the shop, which is filled with beautiful handmade works of art. There are well displayed paintings, ceramics, jewelry, and other items, which are all created by local artists. All of the pieces I saw were well crafted and beautiful. Prices were reasonable for such high-quality handmade items. I could not leave without buying a lovely scrifito ceramic bowl crafted by Judy Anderson, who also happens to be co-owner of this wonderful gallery.
