The Baie-Saint-Paul Museum of Contemporary Art, housed in a restored former cinema, is renowned for its national and international exhibitions of contemporary art. The museum features rotating exhibits including painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, design, and multimedia. Visitors can explore the museum's permanent exhibition which highlights its own collection and take an outdoor photographic walking tour in the surrounding districts.
The museum itself is very small but we were there during the festif and enjoyed a 360 experience with contrebasses (25 of them!) it was just a wonderful and emotional experience. Just for that I really thanks the domaine du forget and the museum for their collaboration!

Boring, small, uninteresting. This place is smaller than most houses with an even smaller collection. It’ll take you 10 minutes to view everything. Not worth the money unless you just want to donate it. Just go to the local galleries that have way more interesting pieces
Brickinthe H — Google review
Small but carefully curated museum. Friendly staff. Kids welcome :)

very educational and instructive museum, especially the section on the first indigenous peoples

Wonderful exhibits, easy to get to and explore at your own pace. Loved the Jean-Paul Riopelle exhibit that featured other contemporary artists and the exhibit about Baie-Saint-Paul. If you don't speak French, the latter is bilingual. There is free parking on site.

A nice place for art lovers. Not too big but nicely done. Loved Lafontaine fables by Chagall

Bistro
Le Mouton Noir is a charming rustic bistro in Baie-Saint-Paul, serving up classic and innovative French cuisine with a focus on quality dining. With over 40 years of history, this establishment has become an institution in the area. The restaurant features a lovely riverside terrace and even hosts live music on weekends for added entertainment. Their menu showcases ingredients from local producers, such as foie gras mousse and magret de canard from La Ferme Basque.
This was one of our favorite restaurants while visiting Quebec. Many healthy and indulgent options, everything was prepared perfectly. I had the Vietnamese Salad and my husband the gluttonous pork sandwich. Both were incredible and enjoyed on the back deck while overlooking the river. This place is really charming.

Really nice restaurant further down the main street. Recommend making a reservation if wanting to go on a weekend. Nice meal options, the organic chicken was a highlight as was the Arctic char appetizer. Nice ambiance inside. Good selection of non alcoholic beers too!
Monique H — Google review
We dined there the other day. All in all food tasted good however it’s not somewhere I look forward to go back to. I found the food here being overpriced for what it is. The restaurant tries to be a fine dining restaurant but the overcrowded atmosphere is more like a local pub at best. I had their fish of the day. It tasted good but lacked seasoning. The fish was cooked properly however any chef should know not to leave the skin on a fish if it’s not crispy. The result was a soggy fish skin with gross texture. The other dish, the lamb lacked seasoning as well. The carrot cake although moist and tasty, was not anything extraordinary as advertised. Servers should not leave the dirty utensils on the table for the next round when removing the plates ( we are talking about a high end restaurant) All in all we had a decent experience.

A great little restaurant. Perfect place for a date night. We enjoyed the evening with excellent food, good wine a great service.

My family and I had a fantastic dining experience at "Le Mouton Noir" in Baie-Saint-Paul, Quebec. The food was beyond amazing – I had a steak that was cooked to perfection, paired with a refreshing glass of cold beer. My wife enjoyed a delicious vegan salad, and our kids devoured their plates with delight. The service exceeded our expectations, making the lunch even more memorable. We couldn't have asked for a better meal. "Le Mouton Noir" is a 5-star gem that we highly recommend to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience in Baie-Saint-Paul. It's a must-visit! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🍽️🍺
Clement K — Google review
Lovely waterfront terrace overlooks the Guiffre river — so you can watch the kayakers go by! The food here is spectacular. Our party of six shared six different entrees plus a few starters, and each dish was absolutely delicious. The staff here is so amazing that their kindness actually becomes part of the experience. We were seated quickly, but when a better table (directly overlooking the river) became available, our gracious hostess came over immediately and asked if we would like to switch tables. That's a level of service one rarely encounters these days. Can't recommend this place highly enough, but also recommend making a reservation — this place is very deservedly popular!
Spencer L — Google review
This is a surprising culinary gem in a town of mediocre pub food. Every dish was subtle and sophisticated and made using high quality ingredients. We started with the mushroom "crème brulée" mousse and the veal tartare. Both dishes were devine. The Lion mushroom mousse was easily one of the finest appetizers I've ever had, including several Michelin star restaurants. The tartare was also delightful. For our mains we had magret de canard and sweetbreads. These were conventional but very well executed without any overpowering elements in a medaly of balanced flavors. For dessert we had a signature carrot cake which was not overly sweet and quite enjoyable. Service was attentive and personable. Overall one of the finest dining experiences we've had in Canada. You won't find better within 50 km. Reservations are necessary.
Edward R — Google review
Friendly staff. We visited it for lunch. Their terrace with a view of the river is really nice. For the entree, we had a refreshing and delicious gazpacho. I would recommend this place if you have time to relax because it could take some time before being served. If you are on a hurry, maybe it is better to try a different place.

Ski & Snowboard Areas
Nestled in Quebec's charming Charlevoix region, Le Massif de Charlevoix is a haven for outdoor lovers. During the winter months, thrill-seekers can carve through some of Eastern Canada's most stunning downhill ski slopes, partake in tobogganing, and explore snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails amidst picturesque snowy vistas.
By far, it is one of the finest and most amazing DH/Gravity mountain bike networks in Quebec. The trails are perfectly maintained, and the staff at Le Massif are professional and polite. The trails are mainly big flow, and the green to blue transition is mainly the steepness of the trail system. I did not venture into the blacks as I was biking alone, and I understand my talent. Add this stop to your mountain biking bucket list. Enjoy..
Gary S — Google review
Le Massif is, without a doubt, the best skiing experience I’ve ever had. From the moment you arrive, everything is designed for convenience and enjoyment. The top-down layout is a game-changer—you park at the summit, grab your pass, and ski straight down. No long initial lift rides, just straight into the action. The staff go above and beyond, whether it’s the guides helping you find the best runs, employees placing your skis in the gondola rack with a smile, or even a young instructor who stood out with his enthusiasm and knowledge. Service like this really elevates the experience. The mountain itself is incredible. The terrain offers something for everyone, from wide groomers to challenging steeps, all with breathtaking views of the St. Lawrence River—honestly, some of the best scenery I’ve ever seen while skiing. The layout of the bar and restaurants is also super convenient, making it easy to grab a drink or a bite without hassle. Le Massif delivers in every way. Whether you’re here for the skiing, the service, or just the overall vibe, it’s a world-class experience. I can’t recommend it enough
Matteo M — Google review
This place is magical, both in winter and summer. With tons of activities for families, friends, or couples, it’s the perfect spot for an active vacation. Stunning views of the river, bike trails, nighttime light attractions, hiking paths, and so much more make this a true place to be. In winter, it’s all about skiing and snowboarding. The nearby Club Med even offers ski lessons for those looking to improve or learn from scratch.
Cirrus S — Google review
Le Massif is an amazing place to ski/snowboard! We spent 3 beautiful days skiing over Ontario March break (different timing then Quebec March break) and Wow! No lineups for anything in 3 days, food, tickets and most importantly lifts were all ready to serve. Tonnes of well groomed trails and skill levels to choose from. We stayed at a Hillside Chalet beside the trail at the top of the hill to ski in-ski out from and it was worth it. Saved time, parking and food, meant longer ski days! Gorgeous view of the St. Lawrence river from every run and lodging, this place… it’s definitely a must. Standard food prices and lift tickets were on par for a big hill but I believe they limit the amount of tickets available to control crowd size on the hill. Tickets(card) was reloadable on line to again save time. Well planned, well laid out, very worth while! There is a Club Med at the base of the mountain for the all inclusive crowd. They also have mountain biking in the summer and a chairlift Light show that’s worth checking out from the looks of it. Great job Massif! Not great pics from my old phone but gives you an idea.
Jay G — Google review
After 10 years of chasing powder, Le Massif de Charlevoix remains my top pick in the East-and I make it a point to ride here at least twice every winter. Here’s why this mountain should be on every skier and snowboarder’s bucket list for next season. Unmatched Scenery & Vertical Drop: Le Massif boasts the highest vertical drop east of the Rockies, and nothing beats carving down runs with the St. Lawrence River stretching out below you. The views are jaw-dropping from every angle, making every descent feel epic. Terrain for Every Rider-But Especially Advanced: This mountain is a playground for experienced riders. The groomers are meticulously maintained, and there’s a solid mix of wide-open runs, natural glades, and challenging steeps. The legendary La Charlevoix trail is a must for advanced snowboarders-think freeride features, big drops, and a true test of your skills. Snow Quality & Conditions: Le Massif gets more snow than any other Quebec resort, and the upper mountain holds it well. Grooming is top-notch, and powder days here are unforgettable. Lower elevations can get slushy or icy late in the season, but the mid-mountain lifts let you skip the worst of it. Lifts & Crowd Flow: Nearly all lifts are modern and high-speed, so lines are rare outside peak weekends. The layout makes it easy to lap your favorite zones, and you’ll spend more time riding and less time waiting. Après & Accommodations: On-mountain lodging is comfortable, with ski-in/ski-out options and killer river views. Club Med brings a European vibe, but be aware that prices are high and service can be hit-or-miss. The après scene is relaxed-grab a drink at the summit chalet and catch live music, or unwind in the spa after a big day. Le Massif de Charlevoix delivers big-mountain thrills, epic scenery, and some of the best snowboarding in Eastern North America. If you’re a seasoned rider looking for challenge and beauty, this is your spot!

Huge mountain with great views. Nice hiking trail options. We did an easy hike, le buton. I suggest buying a lift ticket online, they require all your info for the rfid card. Name, DOB, etc.. and the line at the ticket booth can sometimes be a little long.
William F — Google review
Great ski hill with varied terrain. Beware that the chalet offers basic lunch options. I wonder if most people are staying at the club med, thus no need for anything more robust. Lines move quickly and the hill is well laid out. Great views from the lifts and gondola, so hope for a clear day. Good value for dollar on the lift ticket. All lift attendants were kind and informative if you have questions about suitable runs for your party. People in the region seem generally please to have tourists experience how wonderful the area is.
Greg W — Google review
This place is a gem. Amazing views. No lift lines in late December. The infrastructure seemed pretty fresh (gondola, high speed quads, even the T-bar-type lift were all new-ish and worked well). The ticket RFID scanners at the lifts were nice and efficient. The food in the lodge was expensive but surprisingly healthy/good food. Zero fries/burger/hot dog/etc. It was almost shocking how there was no junk food. I think adding some basics for kids (with kid portions and prices) would have been nice. Overall a great place, we’ll be back.

10X BETTER THAN STARBUCKS Loved my visit here. The staff is super welcoming and efficient. My cesar wrap & iced coffee were both very tasty and fresh. Try this place out instead of Starbucks, you will not be disappointed.

Great place in a cute town! we stopped here in the middle of a road trip for some breakfast and I am glad we did! The food was delicious especially the Salmon bagel! Coffees were a bit strong but good and the waffle was large enough to share yet very light and yummy. Staff is super friendly and we even bought some of their coffee beans to try at home!

Come for the great barista coffee & lattes, and stay for the great cheese. A nice breakfast place for those who like good cheese. The grilled cheese sandwich was one of the best I've tried. The service is excellent. We will definitely come back.

An awesome cozy café in the heart of town, that has delicious food, excellent coffee and a welcoming staff. It's an excellent stop when you're in town visiting. Their coffee is exceedingly good I've rarely tasted such good coffee from small commercial places, theirs is way above par. Highly recommended.

On holiday travelling across Quebec. This was the best place we've eaten at on our trip. Fresh, flavourful, and delicious. Great for my kids and sowmthing for everyone. Service was fantastic. After you eat, enjoy the shops.

We enjoyed the coffee from Café Aromes so much that we returned the next day to get coffee for the next leg of our trip. The wait staff was pleasant and very patient with our non-French order, great coffee, warm atmosphere. Each time we went in there the customers seemed delighted with food…and the coffee was magnificent.

Coffee is good. The barista made my cappuccino to go in paper cup but I had asked for “here” not to go. When I pointed it out, he poured the already made cappuccino in the ceramic cup, all milk spilled over. Do this super young so called baristas get any training? Do they know about manners?!

Nestled in the charming Rue Saint-Jean-Baptiste, Baie-St-Paul, Quebec, La Chocolaterie du Village is a delightful haven for those with a sweet tooth. This cozy shop boasts an array of delectable Belgian chocolates in various flavors and themed assortments. Visitors rave about the homemade chocolates and ice cream selection, with soft serve ice cream being a must-try.
I was given a box of La Chocolaterie assorted chocolates as a gift. They were purchased by a friend during a recent visit to the Charlevoix Region. She told me, “The aroma in the shop was heavenly.” I agree with her, the heavenly taste while eating my first piece. Not only the chocolate outside, also the flavors inside. Absolutely delicious!

Place is nice and small. Have a good selection of homemade chocolate and ice-cream. We bought an assorted box of chocolates as a gift. You could pick them by yourself. There was a little problem. The lady didn't speak English at all and that wasn't an easy to order with my very basic French. But we did it and ice-cream was good.

Amazing ice cream and chocolate dip! Ice cream was creamy and tasty! Also the hot chocolate is made from scratch. Nice place!
Domenico F — Google review
The staff member working this morning was so friendly and excited to show us the options. Bonus points for gluten free ice cream cones! We will be back next summer for sure.
Stefanie B — Google review
I must say I was a little shocked when they told me the price for the tiny ice cream cones we bought. The prices are not clearly displayed and I asked a few times without a proper answer. $4 for a tiny scoop is just too much for just standard ice cream. We tend to have ice cream many times during our vacation, we only had it once in Charlevoix as the prices were really high everywhere and there were better deserts to be had.

One great experience, one TERRIBLE experience Went on Tuesday and enjoyed the breakfast and additional pastries. The young man that worked there made everything easy and did the order to perfection (Eggspress and Salmon bagels), after that experience we came back on Wednesday looking for the same... Instead Wednesday was terrible, communication was poor, charged us for things they didn't the day before, didn't give things we paid for, didn't put any sauces on our overly dried out Eggspress', and overall horrible attitude by the women working there. This second one experience totally ruined the experience and our breakfast was terrible. I DO NOT recommend this place as their staff is not well trained (except for the young man Tuesday) and they are not consistent. Also avoid if you are English - they will NOT welcome you and will not try to understand even if you try to speak French.

Large selection of bread, croissant, muffins, cakes with good seating indoor and outdoor. Can't go song for a breakfast here, but the quality is average compared to other local bakeries.

We came here a few years ago and enjoyed the experience. This time, maybe due to covid, the staff is stressed and not courteous. If they wanted us to respect the 2m, someone should have been standing outside and telling us nicely. We were asking questions about our orders and saying they gave us napkins when they didn't or no straws for smoothies etc.The bread and food is good though so hope they can get organized and improve customer service.
Celine H — Google review
Staying in Charlevoix for a weekend of skiing and stopped here for croissants which were so delicious. On our way out stopped here again for more croissants and sandwiches. The store is very clean and neat, and all covid measures being followed. The food looks fresh and is baked daily so you know you are getting fresh goods. Definitely recommend 👌

Great option for breakfast; so much so that we went back a second time. We bought a lot of different stuff and with the exception of one of the chocolatine which felt like it might have been from the previous day, everything was delicious. It can take a bit of time to get through since there's often a lineup but nothing too long

The Charlevoix Train offers seasonal pleasure trips along a former loggers' line from Baie-Saint-Paul to La Malbaie. The journey provides stunning views of mountains, valleys, and the St. Lawrence River, allowing travelers to enjoy the tranquil rhythm of rail travel. Passengers can opt for a round trip or make stops to explore villages, grab a bite to eat, and take in beautiful sights.
Hydrogen train: Québec - Baie St Paul, one day round trip Pros: Good service, nice staff, clean, train was on time, spacious bathrooms, great views (specially on the river side). Cons: there was no plugs for charging phones. Make sure to arrive early (~45 minutes before departure) to get good seats because they are not assigned online. Overall it was a great experience and I recommend.

The staff are polite - but we didn’t enjoy the experience. It was a boring ride ! There is diesel smell all through out the journey - The mountain side ride is super dull !! Mountain is too close and so there is nothing but trees to see - the one point in the review is for lakeside view - the price doesn’t justify the experience !
Bhargavee K — Google review
Terrible experience, our friends booked a seat 2for 331.00 mountain side because they were told they were no more seats on the seaway side . We call to join our friends mini getaway , we were told that no more seats were available only tables. The tables approximately 12” wide with old needing to be reupholstered seats cost $1461.00 for 4 people. We asked can for the seaway side, that’s an extra $40. + but none were left the train was full, only mountain side, bring your lunch nothing is served, and do not expect any service for napkins , utensils etc. none provided. We asked since we are now owners of 4 tickets can you please cancel our friends and we shall sit together. Nope all tickets are final sales. Ouch that’s truly, truly upsetting. To make matters worse, the train was barely occupied, they were plenty of seats and on both sides. Bathrooms need a paint job, absolutely no service or help with your carry on and lunch cooler to board on or off. Sadly an elderly man fell down the step it was horrible. FYI The drive from the station to La Malbaie is approx. 1.5hrs the train ride at 30km per hr takes 4.5/5hrs They want us to visit and encourage Canadian economy.,.. SERIOUSLY RECONSIDERING MY FUTURE getaway’s. We did move on the seaside side on our own, guests that had seats moved to tables without any concern. Do not do this , there was not one person on board happy.

We caught the train as a family to Baie Saint Paul. The train itself is comfortable and clean and the service is very good. The boarding experience was just slow and painful given everyone had electronic tickets and the train is only two carriages long. The just over two hour ride between rivet and mountains was very enjoyable. My kids even looked up from their phones a solid three to four times each. End of August the weather was warm, the flowers are out and everything was looking very green. The train station was also very nice and located close to the centre of town and the rest of the section. All in all we had a great time. A train ride like this really deserves and older train but that is really my only niggle. Great time had by all.

Beautiful train, nice view. I like the way how the staff treated the passengers. I'm bearley speak french but is good to see how the staff try the best to pleased you. But I appreciate if the company trie to push hard and improve to promote a bilingual facility for the passengers that we don't speak French. Next season I will improve my self to speak more french. It was my first time in a train. I loved the experience, I took the train in Baie-Saint-Paul and all the staff was very friendly, nicely and very professional.

We loved our experience on the train! Such beautiful sights. Pictures are of many sights, as well as la Malbaie coast (bridge picture as well as the coloured houses). We really enjoyed the trip!
Stewie P — Google review
A bit hard to rate this one since the scenery is amazing and the staff on train was pretty nice, I would recommend people do this activity. Candidly this is VERY expensive for what you get, an old dirty train ride on ripped benches and no real service onboard, no real chance to drive tourism in the places you stop since you get 30mins no more. Either reduce your price or upgrade your experience.
JF D — Google review
If you’re touring through Quebec you really need to take this train tour. Dress comfy bring a cozy big sweater and shoes/boots and let the adventure begin. You can chose to stop and stay or do a round trip which we did. When you do the stops you have a chance to walk the villages grab a bite to eat and see some beautiful sights. Also, it gives you the chance to see highlights of villages that you definitely will want to drive back to in your car in the future so that you can spend hours at shops. Here are a few pictures of some sights we seen along the way which I will post under those sight headline too... Enjoy 🥂

Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks through the woods, relax on the sandy beach, or explore the observation tower and shipwreck. Families will appreciate the picnic tables and benches available for a pleasant outdoor experience.
Lovely walk and amazing views, great that we still have places like this - kids going to love sand beach. Kayak rental is available, water looks pretty calm near shore, looks like an ocean and would be fun to experience it during summer. Well maintained space, enough parking and I hope to come back again.

Great little park with a few trails in the woods near the Fleuve St Laurent and the sandy beach (perhaps about 1hour of walk I’d say walking along the beach + by the observation tower and then a sort of loop in the woods. Went in November - was quieter and a great place to unwind and enjoy the crisp and fresh air from the St.Lawrence. Picnic tables and a few benches as well.

OMERTO is a unique destination offering the world's first tomato wine, crafted from a secret family recipe dating back to 1930s Belgium. The estate, Domaine de la Vallee du Bras, located in Charlevoix, grows a variety of tomatoes exclusively for this purpose. Visitors can enjoy tours and tastings while learning about the history behind these exceptional tomato wines. Guests praise the warm welcome and engaging presentations by the owner, who shares intriguing insights into the products.
Just amazing! The history, the stories, the music, the wines, the cocktails - Or should I say ‘cobblers’ (if you know you know). We loved every minute of the experience and left with one of everything. This is a must stop in Charlevoix, it exceeds expectations across the board.
LPI — Google review
Good products but I showed up and was invited to join a group tasting in progress without being told there was a fee to participate. $19 for just me! Looking at the website they advertise the tour as 60 to 90 minutes long and guiding you through the winemaking process. But it was watching a video and tasting four wines and two cocktails with two small pieces of bread with pate. I purchased four cocktails and a bottle, over $60 of merchandise. But was quite surprised to see the total nearly $90 with the tasting tour fee. I was at the end of a long trip so I was too tired to even raise my concern at the time, but I wish I had. I find it a dishonest business practice. There wasn’t a tour, it was a taste test, which is typically free, especially when you purchase merchandise. I would remove or amend my review to 5 stars with a refund of the fee, because the wine and service was very good, but customers should clearly know if they are being invited to participate in a paid activity.

Absolutely lovely couple. We brought a group of 50 people with visual disabilities and they were soo very accommodating it was absolutely lovely. I strongly recommend visiting them, what they do is very unique, we had never seen tomato based alcohols before. I personally loved their cocktails and pâtés.

Very interesting experience! We watched the video about the family's history and how they got into wine making. We sampled their 4 products and got a thorough explanation from the kind employee. Unfortunately the wine wasn't quite to our tastes--although I think it probably grows on you the more you drink it!

I had such a wonderful time at Omerto during their 4 à 8 event! This unique little gem in Baie-Saint-Paul is famous for crafting delicious wine made from tomatoes — and I have to say, it’s a must-try experience. 🍷🍅 The event was so well organized, with tasty food like mini burgers and sausages, great live music, and of course, their incredible tomato wines. I especially loved being able to visit the tomato plants and learn more about how this one-of-a-kind wine is made. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff made the experience even better. A special shoutout to Pascal, who was not only super friendly but also so funny — he really added a special touch to the visit. If you’re in the Charlevoix region, don’t miss a stop at Omerto. Whether you’re a wine lover or just curious about something different, this place is full of charm, flavor, and great people.

Le Massif is a bustling wintertime mountain that offers alpine and cross-country ski trails, luges, and dog sledding. It was developed by Cirque du Soleil co-founder Daniel Gauthier, who transformed the former Hotel La Ferme into Le Massif Ski Resort. Despite freezing temperatures, visitors love skiing at Le Massif and recommend splurging for a full day to explore its huge terrain.
Ski above the clouds with wonderful views of the St. Lawrence. The resort itself isn’t as congested as Tremblant, St. Anne, etc. The maple toffee is great- sweet and delectable. The ski lessons were a great experience and we were paired with a knowledgeable instructor who had the foresight to avoid crashes like no mans business!

Amazing hill! A few parking lots at the bottom or top of the hill, if you're a group, try to park together in case you split up later. I'm an intermediate snowboarder and was unsure how the hill would be for me, we went on a Friday, it had just snowed a little (5mm). The snow was great! I suspect due to its location the snow is nice most of the year unlike some other granular surfaces. Not many ice patches. The lifts are pretty quick! The gondola is nice to keep you warm on the way up. It was a cold - 15/20C day, had to take breaks and stop mid way on the way down because ooooff that cold wind. Dress accordingly! A great east coast hill, though $$ Negatives: The greens aren't good though, not a low steady descent. More of a fast, flat, fast, flat. Beautiful view as well! Website is beyond terrible. Wouldn't accept my address. I've shared the feedback to the dev team, the front counter person also mentioned she agrees and has heard this herself. It was a slower day so only 1 person was available at the counter inside the chalet to buy hand warmers (toe warmers were out at the bottom chalet) and to buy ski lift tickets. That top little peak doesn't seem all that useful (with the T bars). I heard it used to be the snow park.

Coming from Ottawa this was an absolute TREAT! I made a pit stop here on my way to out to the East coast. I had so much fun I HAD to come back a second time on the way home. My second experience was magical, conditions were perfect and the sun was shining. The views from Bus Jaune are immaculate and History Sans Fin is one you can’t miss! Got a great deal on new gloves and grips at the boutique and to top it off a keychain, sticker and a pen! Thank you Le Masif, I will be back!
Ry A — Google review
We had such a great time here during Christmas break. 2 out of 3 days, the tickets were sold out and we were thinking the hill would be packed… but it wasn’t! Lifts only had a 2-5 minute wait all day and the wait for the gondola was no longer than 15 minutes. Wait times are WAY shorter than Tremblant. Heading there when the hill just opens is a great idea. You’ll get a few runs in with very few people on the slopes.

Absolutely beautiful...we got a lucky sunny, clear day with minimal wind. The snow conditions and scenery were amazing. It feels as if you'd ski right into mighty St. Lawrence. If you have chance to go...do it!!!

The dogs can be petted while the guides prepare the sleds and place the dogs. They are eager to leave, which means that it is rather noisy during the coupling, but as soon as we leave, there is no longer a single sound! Just before departure, a little training is offered to know how to properly drive the sled. We took the half-day package (2h30) and it wasn't too long, it even went by too quickly! Halfway, we take a break, which allows us to exchange places, the one who was seated in the sled takes the place of the “mosher” as we call it in this jargon. The experience was memorable. Walking in the middle of nature in the magnificent landscape of Charlevoix is simply magical. We are reaching a greater speed than I would have expected, which is exciting. Bring your warmest stockings/socks! They can lend warm boots and mittens on site for those who don't have them. I recommend this activity to everyone! Katabatik - Aventure dans Charlevoix offers a variety of kayaking experiences, from a 9km trip to a 20km river kayak and an 8km family route. The company provides well-organized excursions with high-quality kayaks and paddles. The trip leaders are fluent in English and French, ensuring clear communication for all participants.
My husband and I did the 8km beginner’s kayaking experience on our honeymoon and had a great time. It was his second time and my first, and we had a great time learning how to coordinate together in our double kayak. I have limited French and he has none but they had copies of the waivers in English and as long as you let reception know that you speak English, they’ll send at least one staff member who speaks English on the trip for instructions (you’ll be pulled away from the group for instructions just to avoid and miscommunications, which we were fine with). The 8km itself was great and everyone was super friendly. We capsized at one point but so did 50% of the group and it made for a funny moment. We did have a bit of trouble getting to the bay at the end due to low tide and getting stuck on rocks. They gave good tips but it was also pretty dry that week which meant more of me dragging our kayak to get unstuck. I’d recommend that if you go during a dry spell, do a morning visit where there’s higher tide. They have water shoes available to rent which I highly recommend for grip on the water bed and not getting your shoes wet. Wet suits aren’t necessary in our opinion as long as you wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet. They also provide life jackets (required) and wet bags free of charge, and your ticket includes the shuttle ride to the launch point.

We did the 9K kayak trip a few days ago. The company was well organized. The kayaks and paddles were fairly new, high quality, and in excellent condition. Our trip leader Fred was fluent in English and French. He did a great job fitting us with gear and leading a trip with participants with varying experience levels. Plus Fred had a great demeanor and made the excursion fun. Fred understood the currents and the tides and briefed us and managed the trip accordingly. The activity was fully as described on the website. I found the web booking slightly glitchy but I talked to one of the crew by phone and my issue was solved.

The smal shop set you up nicely with any water toys that they have. Kayak and all. Great staff and great spot to get on the beach (no lifeguards) and nice kids play area. Very great view too.
Karine R — Google review
We did the 20km river kayak, it was nice. There were some tiny rapids but nothing too crazy, though many places were too shallow if you didn't see the one spot that the river was deep enough for a kayak. Plus, if you get put in the water with a large group, things get backed up when you reach a narrow or shallow area. Otherwise, it was a nice smooth ride, with lots of places to stop for lunch or a swim. Dry bags were provided.
Maggie — Google review
Our overall family experience was ordinary at best. We felt a little bit part of the system and being processed. Not reflected in our rating, but one person with our group fell and we towed their kayak back to base, without a rope. We barely got a thank you from the staff on doing that.
Francois L — Google review
We did the 8km family kayak route with a young child and had no issues (everyone needs to know how to swim though). The water was very shallow so you could walk across almost anywhere, however this could possibly change based on water levels. There were some small rapids and some debris in the water, such as rocks and trees, but we did not have any issues (others did though even in this small trek). Best to follow their guides online, wear water shoes, do not wear your nice running shoes and place all your items in the water bag. With that, it was amazing. Great views, a lot of fun for all of us (a highlight of our trip to Charlevoix). It took about 3 hours with a nice lunch break but can easily be done in 2 hours for adults without stopping, but that seems less fun.
Michel C — Google review
25 km. Not going with them again. Staff were nice in the beginning. The danger that the instructor mentioned were nothing like what the river looked like. The first 5 km took us at least 2 hours because we helped the other groups and our friends who felled (very difficulty. Not fun for beginners as they sell it.) The rest was really nice and calm. We arrived late at the end (which we didn't know because there were no mention of the time). Started at 11 am. Arrived at 5h30 (15 min late according to them). The instructor was patronizing and kind of laughing at us. Someone broke its paddle by accident, but we bought the 2$ insurance. We didn't have to pay, but the staff were not very happy or understanding. I would not recommend for a group of beginners. 20 km might be better though. (In 2021) Considerations in the first 5 km : Fallen trees. When you see a fallen tree. Really consider transporting your kayak by hand. You might lose your stuff and be frustrated. At least 2-3 hard places for two-places kayak. There's a danger sign with a barrier to count fish. Consider stopping on the side to transport your kayak not to disturb fish reproduction.

We did the Familiale. Very nice activity, small rapids were fun. We did get stuck towards the end on shallow water and rocks as many reported but we made it through. Easy enough to do, I would not have taken the longer route though! Nice friendly staff.

I first visited the spacious gallery with my wife in 2007 and once again in 2015. I was surprised by the caliber of artists represented. The works were beautifully lit and displayed. I recall the juxtaposition of my wife standing before Martin Beaupré’s painting “Surprenante” and gazing upon it for a long time. She resembled the painting! I went back a few more times to look at same painting. It’s a captivating work of art that now has special meaning for me. George the curator is a very knowledgeable and patient man to whom I had the great pleasure of recounting my story. Last week I went back and purchased it. This time I dealt with Isabelle and Chantal who were exceptionally professional. They prepared and wrapped the painting for me. My whole experience has been very positive. I can’t think of needing to go elsewhere for art pieces from now on. I would highly recommend this gallery to anyone serious about art collecting, especially works by very talented and world-renowned Québec artists.

The Pont Couvert de Saint Placide is a fascinating addition to any collection of covered bridges. Its location within a dense forest adds an element of mystique and natural beauty to the discovery. However, it's important to note that this historical landmark is situated on private property, so visitors must exercise caution and respect the designated area. The bridge itself holds great historical significance, showcasing impressive architectural craftsmanship from its era.
Beautiful covered bridge. Not easy to find and is a dead end, no through road so you have to go back the way you came. Lovely views of the river both up and downstream.
