Very interesting museum. This place is one of the former encampments where enslaved Africans were held prior to being transported to the Americas. There are many such places in Luanda. I was glad to see groups of schoolchildren there for tours.

Bit worn down and unfortunately only partly translated to English, this museum offer an ok display of different tools, instruments, weapons and other objects used by different tribes of Angola through history.

There is so, so, so much potential to fix up this museum. I enjoyed it, but it is very, very neglected.

It's a decent place to spend an afternoon, you can find most of the things you need here. There's a good variety of shops and a big supermarket inside which is convenient. The main problem is how incredibly crowded it gets, especially on weekends, and finding a parking spot can be a real nightmare. The food court is just okay, mostly fast food options and nothing too exciting. The cinema is a plus though. It's fine for getting errands done but it feels a bit dated now.

Great and vast commercial centre comprising Shoprite and many other shops. Various restaurant for local and exotic foods inside. Full of customers during weekends and public holidays. Good place to go for middle-level class.

Nice shopping Mall with good range of shops. It has a food hall with various Takeaways and a shared dining area. There are two good restaurants at the entrance to the Mall.

Ilha e Luanda is the lovers nest. It says a song of Carlos Burity. A lot of restaurants, bars and night clubs. Unfortunately, there are a lot of construction transforming the little paradise into a concrete jungle. Beautiful white sand beaches in need of urgent attention. The police control is sometimes boring. You might be stopped several times. Although It is a safe place, you must pay attention.

This is the bridge, clover, that connects the Island of Luanda to the city of Luanda. This view was the winner of Luanda’s photography 2015 competition and shows how the capital is in constant construction from where it stands till the horizon that dives in the see. On fridays this bridge gets very busy at night.

However, restaurants are always the option. Restaurant prices and qualities are for all the pockets, from the the fair prices to the most expensive. Sadly the museum is closed from January 2025 until now,i and a group of girls visited the 28th July 2025 and the lady said they have been closed and that it is not open,just wanted to write this for anyone who has planned to come here...to prevent dissapointment

I wanted to visit today, but it's closed even though it says it's open on the internet. The outside is completely neglected and it looks sad. I asked a lady behind the gate when it will open again and she simply emphasised that it will be closed for a long time. I hope it will be fixed and opened again soon.

I've been there with my 5 year old son, and we really enjoyed the show. There is a part dedicated to aquatic life and another one for land animals living in Angola. Each animal has a corresponding card with its natural specificities of diet and way of living. The collection of animals is quite, from squeletons to complete animals. There is also a collection of rocks and a special part dedicated to the Palanca Negra. Just go if you are not afraid of taxidermia...

The pros : recently renovated/repainted dining area. Same pleasant location on the beach as before, where you can benefit from a light breeze when your table is well located. Good selection of fresh seafood and fish. The cons : prices are really high, in particular for imported fish and seafood. Let me start off by saying the food is awesome! You can taste how fresh the seafood is. I truly think it was the best octopus I’ve ever had! The staff is lovely- we don’t speak Portuguese but they still tried very hard to understand us and they were always there is you needed another drink or help in general. My main issue was the bill. The price that one item was listed at when we ordered was mysteriously higher on the bill. They claimed that was always the price but luckily we had the menu page loaded on the phone to prove they changed it while we were dining. Also they give you a bread basket and a few slices of prosciutto when you sit down- we mistakingly thought it was included… it is not. The basket of bread is only 1,300 so no big deal but the prosciutto is 11,000 per plate (three pieces or so). That’s a bit high of a price to not explain it is not included. So definitely come here! The food is awesome. But make sure you check your bill and don’t eat anything brought to the table unless you’re willing to pay.

One of the most expensive restaurant in Luanda. When you go there for lunch or dinner expect to pay minimum 15000 kz per person. Location of the restaurant is great. You can have your food beside the Atlantic ocean. That's something to be consider for that price. Food is good here. They have separate sitting area for fish items and meat items. Most of the items are prepared for more than one person so I recommend to go there at least two people at a time.

Lookal Marisqueira at Ilha de Luanda is doubtlessly the best seafood restaurant in town. A vast variety to choose from. An enjoyable and cosy atmosphere with a superb ability on delivering tasty food. We had feijoada de marisco and a delicious steak. A fantastic service as well as a duteous, helpful and friendly staff. Seafood masters.

I give 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐ simply because of TAAG AIRLINE, their hospitality is top-notch, cabin crews are well on ground but their Airport is far below the international standard.

Shocking airport. Took about 30 mins for the bus to arrive to take us from plane to arrivals. Worst bit was being the only arrival, our bags took 90 mins from landing to appearing on the belt especially with like 8 staff standing there doing nothing. Free WiFi at the airport, but it’s super slow and disconnects often.

The Departure area bathrooms are always awful. They never have toilet paper in the stalls, you have to take in your own TP. There is never soap to wash your hands and totally forget about trying to dry your hands.

You can’t compare Luanda airport with Dubai or Singapore, but it’s good for its standard or commuter rush. Some reasonable waiting areas, not so nice food and terrible security checks. Surprisingly they serve a fresh tea, for me it's a good sign. The service was good – the staff were attentive and genuinely friendly. All in all, it’s a hidden gem by the ocean that combines a great location, good food, and a welcoming team. I'd recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cozy and memorable dining experience.

What an amazing place, the location at the beach is perfect for a relaxing day at the beach. In the evening you can enjoy a perfect sunset. The service is impeccable! They have lots of fresh grilled fish that we very much enjoyed. Great place we will be back.

Jango Veleiro is a good restaurant by the island and is much more affordable than other beach clubs down the road. The place is not fancy or anything, but it's huge with plenty of seating available, the menu is extensive with great options of fish/seafood, meat, chicken, vegetarian, burgers, pizza and snacks. Beer was always served cold and service was ok. It took a while for them to prepare the food, but it was all delicious. Recommend their seafood platter, which is huge and has everything from shrimps, lobster, crab, fish, mussels, rice, fries and sauces. It's easily shareable by 2 or 3 people. Sunset views are awesome and the great thing is that they are open 24/7. They also accept credit cards. Not all staff speak English, but communication was not a problem. Would definitely come back.

I really like the place, very comfortable and good price. The place have different area (bar, restaurant, dancing area and beach chairs/tables). Attention was good but slow, don’t be in a hurry if you come here, sunset was lovely. The private beach (which you can access free) was good to spend the day but it was a little dirty and I didn’t see any staff cleaning or taking care of, they offer you shower and toilets for your confort. Pretty decent water park though a bit smaller than I expected. There are a couple of water slides, catered more for your kids... I don't think kids above 12yrs will find it very exciting....Bit theres a super bowling alley! It's a standard bowling alley with about 10lanes, and it's a lot of fun!

Was a good day out with the kids. The one thing I like about the park is the fact is not too big and you are able to monitor the kids from the comfort of your chair. Then equipment remains in good condition as well as the supporting infrastructure. I do give 5🌟for the experience of the day, but I noticed that they only have the main fast food and bar opened, and the remaining restaurants are all closed limiting your selection of food offering and for that I give 2🌟. I also noticed that they are doing some expansion/renovation work on the park but could not see what exactly what it was.
