Tomb of Baba Taher is a vast memorial located on a hill in the northwest of Hamadan, dedicated to the medieval Persian poet Baba Taher. The structure, built between 1967-1970, features eight pillars and is surrounded by gardens. While its exterior is simple, the interior boasts splendid walls adorned with poetry verses.
Baba Taher Mausoleum is located on a hill in the northwest of Hamedan, in front of the Alvand peak. Baba Taher, known as "Baba Taher Oryan", a Sufi mystic and poet of the 11th century, was from the vicinity of Hamedan, who is known for composing mystical and brilliant Do-beiti (Persian quatrain). Scholars have obtained numerous dates for the birth and death of this famous poet from several sources that have been recorded in history. Baba Taher held a high position in Sufism. The old mausoleum of Baba Taher was built in the shape of an octagonal brick tower in 12th century. This tower was destroyed in the early 20th century. Therefore, in 1938, during the reign of Reza Pahlavi, Baba Taher Tomb was simply renovated. This tomb was repaired and renovated again between 1950 and 1952. The construction of the new building of the Baba Taher mausoleum began in 1967, by the order of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi. Eventually, in 1970, the construction of the current building of Baba Taher Mausoleum was completed by Engineer Mohsen Foroughi in a field with an area of more than one hundred thousand square meters. The Baba Taher Mausoleum, with dimensions of 10 by 10 meters, consists of a set of prisms that have entrances and light holes. The foundation of this construction is made of stone, lime and insulation. The plan of this amazing construction is an octagonal base, which the height is approximately 25 meters. In the construction of the eight pillars of the tower, the tombstone, the floor covering as well as the stairs around the tomb tower, excellent carved granite stone has been used and the exterior of the building is made of high quality white stone. Very delicate mosaic tiles and Bannai script used in the interior of the tomb, has given a special effect to this fantastic mausoleum. Some inscriptions of Baba Taher’s Do-beyti on 24 marble stones give this construction a very eye-catching design. Next to Baba Taher Mausoleum, there are tombs of famous people in Hamedan.

These steps take you up to Heavens. If you are looking for a spiritual experience in the beautiful city of Hamedan, this is the very spot. Do NOT miss Baba Taher. It is going to be rewarding. And the live flute music in the background will lift your spirits, regardless.
Abolhassan T — Google review
‏Based on Encyclopedia Britanica, Baba Taher Oryan‌ born around 1000, Iran—died after 1055, Hamadan was a famous early Persian poet. Much of his life is unknown, but he likely lived in Hamadan. His nickname, Oryan (“The Naked"), hints that he was a wandering mystic. ‏Legend says he was an uneducated woodcutter who visited a religious school, where scholars mocked him. After a divine vision revealed deep wisdom to him, he returned and amazed everyone with his knowledge. ‏His poetry, written in a Persian dialect, is known for its simple yet deep and spiritual du-bayti (two-line verses). He remains highly respected in Iran, and his tomb is in Hamadan. Some English translations of his work include The Laments of Baba Tahir (1902) and Poems of a Persian Sufi (1937).

Visiting the tomb of a great poet or important historical figure allows you to reconstruct the life and works of that person in your mind. For this reason, the birthplaces of these famous figures are generally less visited than their tombs. Here is the tomb of Baba Taher Aryan, which is considered one of the cultural and historical symbols of Hamedan and was first built in the 6th century AH during the Seljuk dynasty. This building is made of brick in the form of an octagonal tower and, unfortunately, has been destroyed and restored many times throughout history.
Setareh S — Google review
Great feeling in the tomb of this exquisite Iranian poet. I strongly suggest you listen to his poems sung by Mohammad Reza Shajarian as you visit the place. You can easily find them online with a simple search.
M.Mahdi H — Google review
A nice monument for poem lovers and architects. There are plenty space for parking, and there is less than one minute walk to the tomb from the gate.
Milad B — Google review
Beautiful peaceful place with lots of parking slots. The entrance fee is quite cheap and is one of the top 10 places you shouldn't miss while visiting Hamedan.
Siavash P — Google review
A place for a great poet, unfortunately not such a great architecture. From outside it looks a bit like a rocket, but a bit too short. But anyway it's worth visiting, because the closer you get you will realise, it's not just a single tube on octagonal cross section. The octagonal tube changes to a octagonal star. Inside all this is much more obvious. Anyway inside it's great. All lightend by Alabaster Windows

The Tomb of Esther and Mordekhai is an ancient mausoleum in Hamedan, Iran, believed to hold the remains of Queen Esther and her cousin Mordecai from biblical times. It is located on Hegmataneh Hill, which was once the capital of the first Iranian empire. The shrine is a significant historical attraction for both the Jewish community in Iran and visitors from around the world.
A must visit experience. Very informative caretaker and guide in English, Farsi or French. Very surreal to be in the presence of 2500 years of biblical history.
Hein B — Google review
Interesting place but beware the old Jewish keeper, he will try to take more money than normal for the entrance, and then on top of that beg and put pressure for more tips/donations.
Lige P — Google review
It’s a Jewish shrine in the city of Hamadān, where, according to Judeo-Persian tradition, Esther and Mordechai are buried. It’s located in the walking distance of Imam Square and is open in certain hours and days. The staff in the location was very helpful in providing information about the site though there are still so much unknown about this burial place. I liked the dome and also the heavy stone gate to the shrine. We had to move the stone to enter the shrine. The Hebrew inscriptions and the jewish style and decorations were conspicuous. Seems like so many jews lived in the city of Hamedan for a long time but based on Encyclopedia Iranica, there are still so many sources of doubts about this place.
Saeed R — Google review
A great historical place. But unfortunately people who manage this place is a bit unfriendly. The door was closed when I went there. A woman opened the door for me. I was told by the manager that the place only hosts group visiters, and single males who travels alone are forbidden to enter the place (a very weird rule), but I managed to sneak into the place anyway after a group of German visitors went in. Five star for the place, but one star for the friendliness of the manager I encountered. Entrance fee 25000rials

Esther: A Bridge Between Cultures Esther, the remarkable Queen of Persia, holds the unique distinction of being the only woman in the Bible with a book named after her. More than just a biblical figure, she stands as a powerful symbol of the enduring historical connection between Jews and Persians. Her story, a testament to courage and divine providence, continues to resonate through the ages, highlighting a significant ancient bond. 🩵🦁🩵

One of the most important places in Hamedan and holy for Juda's people. The tomb belongs to Esther who was in Judaism religion and still wife of Xerxes King of the Kings son of the Darius the Great, and of course her uncle Mordekhai who was the ministery of Xerxes's monarchy.

✡️ : The Tomb of Esther and Mordechai is located in Hamedan province. Believed by some to house the remains of the biblical Queen Esther and her cousin Mordechai during Achaemenid Empire, it is the most important pilgrimage site for Jews in the country, who have lived peacefully and safely for 2800 years approximately!

esther was queen of the Persian kings. The beautiful star, Queen and her cute uncle, Mordecai, is the highest man in the court.Jews gathered together as "Purem" and pray for fasting and chanting on March, Entrance to this monument is possible only by family. An old wooden door after some home appliance repair shops, inside the alley which is named after Zanganeh school of science, and the signing of the castle bath museum in this alley is our gateway to this ancient heritage.A few steps and then a large courtyard and later a brick dome building with a small, heavy and rocky derby. You have to bend so that you can enter this little door, an entrance hall that has been inflamed with old lanterns that surround it with a number of lanterns or modern times. Jews have illuminated the lights for their dead in this building. An umbilical cord is connected to this entrance hall. Hebrew words are engraved on it. arriving at two large tombstones of carved wood about a meter deep brown in the chamber. The tomb is older and is designed and built by a tombstone. The upper levels of these tombs are covered with several simple and inexpensive colored fabrics. The clergy have vowed these cloths to remove their clutches. The construction of Esther and Mordecai is very simple and old, its design has never been tampered with and has been restored only once.To the right of the room there are tombstones, two steps higher; there is also a chamber that is located in front of the old chairs.

The Tomb of Abu Ali Sina, also known as Avicenna, is a mausoleum complex located in Hamadan, Iran. It serves as a significant center of learning and pilgrimage for scholars and physicians. The tomb is dedicated to the prominent Persian philosopher and physician Ibn Sina, who made substantial contributions to various fields including medicine and philosophy during the Islamic Golden Age.
A Timeless Tribute to a Genius – Tomb of Abu Ali Sina (Avicenna) The Tomb of Abu Ali Sina, also known as Avicenna, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Hamadan—and for good reason. This beautifully designed mausoleum honors one of the greatest minds in history: a philosopher, physician, and polymath whose influence shaped both Eastern and Western thought for centuries. The monument blends traditional Iranian design with modern architectural elements, symbolizing the enduring legacy of science and wisdom. Inside the small museum, you’ll find manuscripts, scientific tools, and exhibits that showcase Avicenna’s life and contributions to medicine, astronomy, and philosophy. 🕰 Best time to visit: Early morning or late afternoon, when it’s less crowded and the light is great for photos. 📍Located in the heart of Hamadan, easily accessible by foot or taxi. 🎟️ Entry is inexpensive and worth every rial for the cultural value it offers. 📸 Don’t miss the inscriptions and the large statue of Avicenna near the entrance. It’s a place that inspires reflection—not only on the brilliance of one man, but on the rich intellectual history of Iran. Whether you’re a history lover, a student, or just a curious traveler, this site is an absolute must-visit in Hamadan.

Bu Ali Sina Mausoleum: The construction of the current monument dates back to the Second Pahlavi Era (Mohammad Reza Shah) by Hooshang Seyhoon and is inspired by Gonbad-e Ghaboos Tower. It is also the burial place of Aref Ghazvini, the renowned Iranian poet, lyricist and musician. Very beautiful architecture—a fusion of both ancient and Islamic Iranian architecture.
Saeed R — Google review
The architecture of Avicenna’s mausoleum is lovely, but the museum inside is very simple. The indoor atmosphere felt a bit heavy, while the outside space has a much nicer, softer vibe. Worth a quick visit for the architecture, but the museum itself isn’t that special.

It was my second visit to the Mausoleum of Avicenna; I like this place very much because of its impressive and unique architecture. The museum is also excellent because it shows different herbs with their medical information. I liked the carpets at the museum, which are good examples of Persian art and the Persian rug.

Ibn Sina who is regarded as one of the most significant physicians, astronomers, philosophers, and writers of the Islamic Golden Age (1000 years ago) His most famous works are The Book of Healing, a philosophical and scientific encyclopedia, and The Canon of Medicine, a medical encyclopedia which became a standard medical text at many medieval universities
Emran M — Google review
Great atmosphere with very tactful and smart architecture by legendary Iranian architect, Houshang Seyhoun. The museuem is worth a visit too and introduces old Iranian medical textbooks, tools, and approaches, some established by Avicenna himself.

The Stone Lion Statue is a remarkable Hellenistic sculpture that once graced the entrance to an ancient city, now serving as a monument in Hamadan. This stunning piece of art showcases the rich cultural heritage of the region and reflects the artistic prowess of its creators. Situated near Bisotun village, this impressive rock relief captures a fierce lion engaged in battle with other creatures, making it a captivating sight for history enthusiasts and art lovers alike.
The lion isn’t as impressive as we expected. It looks more like a simple clay figure, but that’s likely because of its ancient age. According to Encyclopedia Iranica, The Stone Lion of Hamadan (Šir-e Sangi) is an ancient relic carved from yellow sandstone, now worn down and missing its legs. Originally placed near the Bāb-al-Asad gate, it overlooked the Khorasan road. Some say Alexander the Great ordered it as a protective talisman, while others credit the Greek sculptor Balinās under King Qobād to guard against floods and cold. Nearby talismans were believed to ward off snakes, scorpions, and other dangers. The lion was damaged during the Ziarid conquest in 931 AD, and though the Abbasid caliph tried to move it to Baghdad, the people of Hamadan refused. Some scholars think it may date back to the Median era. Over the years, locals believed in its magical powers, performing rituals for protection.
Saeed R — Google review
The stone lion – one part of the 'Lions' Gate' – sits on a hill. When first built, this statue had a twin counterpart for which they both constituted the old gate of the city. During the Islamic conquest of Persia, the victorious Arabs referred to the gate as bâb ul-asad (Persian: باب‌الاسد, "the lions' gate"). Stone Lion or Shir-e Sangi of Hamadan The gates were demolished in 931AD as the Deylamids took over the city. Mardāvij unsuccessfully tried transporting one of the lions to Ray. Angered by the failure to move them, he ordered them to be demolished. One lion was completely destroyed, while the other had its arm broken and pulled to the ground. The half-demolished lion lay on its side on the ground until 1949, when it was raised again, using a supplemental arm that was built into it. In 1968 Heinz Luschey demonstrated that the lion is a Hellenistic sculpture and that the lion monument at Chaeronea (erected in 338 BC) is comparable. His interpretation that it was built by the orders of Alexander the Great to commemorate the death of his close companion Hephaestion in 324 BC. is adopted by Iran's Cultural Heritage Organization.

Jakobus G — Google review
Interesting. Unfortunately it's severely damaged by mardavij of the ziarids but it still stands there. They used to think that it's some sort of talisman for the city to save and protect it from cold and enemy and so on. It used to be at the gates of the city, known as Bab ol Asad (gate of lion). It was built by the command of Alexander the Macedon.
Mehrespand S — Google review
Not so well presveved! This ancient sculpture should be kept in a museum, not in a square!
Amir M — Google review
The stone lion statue or Seng Shir is one of the monuments of ancient history in the city of Hamedan, which is located at the end of the 12-meter Seng Shir street and in the middle of the square square with the same name. This work was registered as one of Iran's national works on 15 January 1310 with registration number 93. . The hill on which the stone lion statue is currently placed is an ancient hill, because a coffin belonging to the Parthian period was found there and is kept in the Hegmatane Hill Museum. And when the Arabs conquered Hamedan, they called it Bab al-Asad, which means the lion's gate.[1] In the year 319 A.H., when the Dilmians captured Hamedan, they completely destroyed the gate of the city.

It features two granite inscriptions, one commissioned by Darius the Great and the other by Xerxes of the Achaemenid Empire around 500 BC. These inscriptions are carved into Alvand Mount cliffs in three languages: Old Persian, Elamite, and Babylonian. The translations in Persian and English reveal similar passages glorifying the kings' vast lands and divine blessings.

Bahram G — Google review
The tower of Qurban is one of the historical monuments of the 7th or 8th century AH which is located between “Madani Chahar Bagh” and “Taleghani” Street in Hamedan; not far from “Andisheh High School”. The tower is the burial place of “Sheikh al-Islam Hasan Bin Atar Hafiz Abu al-'Ala Hamedani” and a group of Seljuks' emirs and was built in a simple, not scintillation way. But why the name of the “Qurban” for the tower? Archeologists have come to the conclusion that during the Afghan revolt in the late Safavid period, a person called "Qurban" placed this place as his fortress and defended the locals while fighting the insurgents and hence the mosque and tomb are in his name. This is a dodecagon brick tower with a pyramid dome. The length of the 12 sides of the tower is more than 2 meters from the outside and a bit more than one meter on the inside. The outer front of the building consists of arches with 15 cm depth and 123 centimeters width on each side, adjoining with side-laterals on each corner. In the middle of the tower on the arched vault is a simple and ordinary gravestone. This text is carved in 6 rows on it: “O Ghafar-al-zonub, this is the tomb of the late Al Wasl (may Allaah have mercy on him) Muhammad, deceased in the month of Dhajjah al-Haram 1090» This stone was built in the Safavid period. The great grandfather of Abu'l'a'a Hamedani is considered to be an Arab, but Abu-Ala himself and his father were Hamedani. The date of his death is considered to be in the month of Dhajjah al-Haram in 488.

Once known as Ecbatana, this city served as the capital for the Medes around the late 8th century BCE under King Deioces. Today, visitors can explore remnants of this historic metropolis that date back over three millennia.
(Translated by Google) Hegmataneh ancient site is now in the form of an oval mound in the heart of the old city of Hamadan and adjacent to the city market. Its southern and eastern sides are surrounded by Nazar Beyk River, Hegmatane Boulevard and 24-meter overpass, and its western side corresponds to the city market and is limited to Elvand Boulevard from the north side. This area has an area of 35 hectares, most of which was acquired by the organization during the purchase of properties located in the arena during the years 1352-1353 (about 25 hectares) and the rest during the years after the revolution Especially in the last decade, it has become the property of cultural heritage. The brilliant results of the archaeological excavations that started in 1362 by Iranian archaeologists under the supervision of Dr. Mohammad Rahim Saraf, in addition to the existence of other attractions such as the temporary museum and the collection of churches on the south side of the Hegmatane area, have introduced it as one of the main attractions of the city of Hamadan to domestic and foreign tourists. So that now, on average, about 500 people visit this attractive collection every day. The history of Hegmetane goes back to the narration of the Greek historian Herodotus, who was introduced as the first capital of Iran and the center of the all-encompassing government of the Medes, and later it was the summer capital of the Achaemenids, as well as the Parthians and Sasanians, and based on this, historians, researchers and archaeologists believe that the current area of Hegmetane can be the remnants of the palaces of the Median kings and other historical periods. The discovery of numerous gold and silver objects belonging to the Achaemenid period, as well as gold tablets attributed to Ariarmene and Arsham (the ancestors of Darius) and gold and silver cups, including the famous golden rhyton, which is currently kept in the Museum of Ancient Iran, as well as the remains of the stone pillars of the Achaemenid period, which sometimes contain cuneiform inscriptions, have given archaeologists hope to achieve brilliant results in the archaeological excavations of this hill. and as mentioned, the archaeological excavations that began in 1362 presented brilliant results. In summary, it can be said that the results of these excavations in eleven seasons by Dr. Saraf revealed the remains of extensive clay architecture, which was implemented very cleverly and based on engineering principles and pre-designed maps on a large scale. The described adobe architecture is a series of architectural units measuring 17.5 x 17.5 meters, each unit has a counter in front of the entrance to the central hall and side rooms, and two smaller warehouses at the end. This plan is exactly repeated in parallel on both sides and behind the hypothetical unit, and at the interval of two A series of these units have also been equipped with a 3.5 meter wide passage. In such a way that in the general plan of the open architecture complex, an alley or passage can be seen every 35 meters, between which the above-mentioned architectural units are placed. Based on the excavations that have been carried out in different parts of Hegmatane hill, this executive map has been spread uniformly on the entire surface of the hill. This architectural complex is protected by fences about 10 meters wide that lead to square towers at intervals of about 90 meters. Although many evidences from the Achaemenid period and before that have been found in this ancient hill and even its fences and towers are comparable to Persepolis, but the date of construction of the architectural complex inside the fences cannot date back to the Parthian period. And maybe it can be said that on older works, although this issue will be clarified only by the hands of archaeologists and with extensive and time-consuming field and scientific excavations. Very fine peace of Seldjuc Architecture. It's supposed to be one of the most important monuments for Plasterworks of that time. Although some parts were havily damaged by rainwater, you still get a good impression of these very rich floral ornaments. A bit strange sees to be the cages done for the crypt. Searching can gives you smile in your own face if you find yourself going for browsing it continually a memorable experience and we all all love the purchasing. Traditional Searching:In traditional shopping, you just go for your preferred shopping mall and judge the brand much like your choice and you may choose tone shape and size much like your choice whenever you are going for customary and when you intend to buy a clothing at that time you may even check the sizing of the wardrobe and also see the matching picking match with one and not therefore it shout on your body and skin color or not along with see the additional accessories which may need to get excellent look and obtain up your character. And there one or more person that can help you with his personal expertise in this field so you receives guidance from that is extra relevant to the shopping. During traditional browsing you can pay for through income or credit card instead of credit card possibility so you also get the option of transaction when you are selecting traditional purchasing. And one a great deal more thing in typical shopping tends to be that there are lowest chances of your not satisfied with which product or you dont like the item because the product or service you buy for your self after you consider it and touching it, and check out it within sample room or test it before buying it. As a result, in this way old fashioned shopping presents an option of getting a product in your own manner and you can see it your own technique at your own criteria and you will assist the one that shows you a solution. Online Shopping:Internet shopping come if you find yourself not concerned to placed the place where you are staying just like home, business office, garden perhaps chair and wishes to buy it from the single then click of your mouse having timing seeing that flexibility alternative you can buy it again at your own personal time and your own put and the strategy is delivered for your convenient put without likely any where. Though the limitation is perhaps you can not get a product speedy or very last minutes you must book it all on advance the product that you choose to are interested to buy and you may well known that the solution shown in the photo won't the exact product that you may think. Which means that, these are a thing about shopping on-line and typical shopping both have its own gains and constraint now you have to imagine which at is best place for you.

Though it was the first time I visited a church, in my viewpoint, it totally matched with my expectations from an archaic church: tranquil environment as well as beatiful colours and lots of pretty details on the walls and altar that impressed me so much.

The Natural History Museum of Bu-Ali Sina University in Hamadan, Iran is a rich repository of diverse specimens including birds, insects, mammals, reptiles, and sea life. The city itself has a deep historical significance dating back to biblical times and holds a diverse cultural heritage. The museum boasts three separate sections with countless specimens, some of which are unique discoveries such as new fish species from the Persian Gulf and various fossil specimens.
There's so much to say about here. Though considering the limitation of time I guess it's more appropriate for school tours.

(Translated by Google) The Hamedan Natural History Museum is really interesting and diverse in terms of content. The section on minerals and non-minerals was both interesting and informative, and the taxidermied animal specimens were well-preserved. The museum environment was clean, but unfortunately, there was a strong smell of chemicals (probably formalin) in the air, which caused headaches and nausea. Another point is that there were no human or audio guides, and the explanations on some of the signs were inadequate or too general. While the museum itself is worth a visit, these things make the experience a little unpleasant. If you are sensitive to chemical smells, be sure to bring a mask.

The Qajar-era (1789-1925) monument is where communal prayers are said five times a day by the faithful. Form another point of view, its culture and architecture have been sources of charm for travelers to the west-central Iranian city. The mosque is rectangular in shape. It used to have four ivans (porticos) of which three have been remained. The mosque comprises of two areas for communal prayers, a brick dome, and a relatively vast courtyard with a huge pool in the center. It also has two shabestans, six minarets and three balconies in northern, eastern and southern directions. Shabestan is an underground space that can be usually found in Iran’s traditional mosques, houses, and schools. The mosque, which is a national cultural heritage, has a double-shell dome, decorated with colorful glazed tiles, it also boasts intricate stuccowork, woodwork, and tilework, many of which embellished with arabesque designs. The terms “Jameh Mosque” or “Masjed-e Jameh” or “Friday Mosque” is used in Iran for a grand communal mosque where mandatory Friday prayers are performed: the phrase is used in other Muslim countries but only in Iran does it designate this purpose. Known in classical times as Ecbatana, Hamedan was one of the ancient world’s greatest cities. It was the capital of Media and subsequently a summer residence of the Achaemenian kings who ruled Persia from 553 to 330 BC. Ali Sadr cave, Ganjnameh inscriptions, Avicenna mausoleum, Hegmataneh hill, Alaviyan dome, Jameh mosque, and St. Stephanos Gregorian Church are amongst Hamedan’s attractions to name a few.

(Translated by Google) The original building of this mosque dates back to the early arrival of Islam in Iran. In previous years, this Grand Mosque was also called Old Mosque and Great Mosque. The building of the mosque dates back to Durwan Qajar, during the reign of Fath Ali Shah or Muhammad Shah Qajar. This mosque was renovated in different eras, but most of these renovations were done during the Qajar era. According to Hossein bin Mohammad Taqi, known as (Andalib), this mosque had an older building, but years later, some of its naves were renovated. To estimate the construction date of the Jame Mosque, there are two inscriptions on the edge of the exterior of the Sangab of the western vestibule of this mosque, around which verses are carved in beautiful Nastaliq script. This mosque is located along the market of the city, for this reason, apart from the religious approach, it plays a special role in the design of systems and public movements in Hamedan. This ancient mosque has very beautiful tiles in the nave and minarets.

The food quality is very good—we tried the kebabs and fish, and both were excellent. The enriched olives were also particularly delicious. However, the atmosphere is quite basic, similar to a typical kebab place with long tables and disposable plastic covers. The staff are polite but not especially welcoming, and it can be difficult to get their attention during quieter hours. With friendlier and more attentive service, this place could be much better.

Hegmataneh Hill is one of the largest ancient hills in Iran. This ancient city dates back to the Median era and was chosen as the capital of the Medians in the 8th century BC. This city was probably built by Diako, the first king and founder of Media. After the Medians, it was also used as the summer capital of the Achaemenids and buildings were added to it. The area of this hill is about 40 hectares, and excavations have revealed part of the city wall and a number of houses. The city wall has a diameter of about 9 meters and its remaining height is 8-12 meters. This wall was surrounded by huge towers. The objects discovered from this ancient city are in the Hegmataneh Museum located east of the hill, and those interested can visit this museum. Among the most important artifacts discovered are the base of columns belonging to Achaemenid palaces, including a pillar pillar from the era of Ardashir II with cuneiform text, two stone and glass stamp seals from the pre-Islamic era, and a clay bull's head from the Achaemenid era.

Hegmatane, also known as Ecbatana, is an ancient city located in modern-day Iran. It served as the capital of the Median Empire and later became one of the capitals of the Achaemenid Empire. The city is situated in the western part of Iran, near the present-day city of Hamadan. Hegmatane is historically significant for its role as a political and cultural center in ancient times. The city was known for its impressive architecture, including grand palaces and fortifications. According to historical accounts, Hegmatane was surrounded by seven concentric walls, each painted in a different color, symbolizing the seven planets known to the ancient world. The city's strategic location made it a vital hub for trade and military campaigns. It was also a place where various cultures and peoples interacted, contributing to its rich cultural heritage. Archaeological excavations in the area have uncovered artifacts and structures that provide insights into the life and governance of the ancient Medes and Persians. Today, Hegmatane is an important archaeological site, attracting scholars and tourists interested in ancient history. The remnants of the city offer a glimpse into the grandeur and complexity of one of the earliest centers of civilization in the region.

Very delicious food! The size of the portion is considerable as well, for a price of course. You can explore the museum after launch as well. However, there is not much new information if you have already visited other traditional bath museums in Iran. Definitely recommend having a meal here for tourists.

The historic tin bath, which is also known as Haj Mohammad Saeed, was built during the Qajar era. This bath is located in the old quarter of the castle, and that is why the name of the castle was chosen for it. After the basic renovations that took place inside the bathroom, in 2007, the castle bathroom was changed to an anthropology museum. Currently, there is a traditional dining room inside the bathroom. Hammam Qala architecture is a combination of Iranian and Islamic architecture and has an area of about 1500 square meters. The 4 stone columns and the arches of the transept arch are an example of the beauty of Iranian architecture in this traditional bath. In order to have easy access to the water of the aqueduct and also to prevent energy loss, the castle bath is built a little lower than the ground level. The beautiful head of this bath belongs to the Qajar era. There is a vestibule at the entrance of the castle bathroom, and then a corridor that leads to the bath tub. After Sarbineh, there is another corridor and at the end there is a greenhouse. The castle bathroom has two sections for women and men. The hot and cold parts of this old bathroom are separate. After the entrance, there is a statue named Pachal. The duty of Pachal in the traditional bath was to collect the bath fee. After passing by the Pachal statue, you will reach the cold bath. There are platforms in this area where traditional rituals are performed. After the cold bath, there is a hot bath, and in fact, this part of the bathroom was for washing, and the cleaners used to work in this part.

An excellent hostel, very good value, very comfortable, clean, good breakfast and good location. Close enough to the center, bus and taxi station but far enough to be quiet. The host is so nice and helpful with everything, he provides all the information you need and more. He was super helpful with my visa extension, helped me by calling his friend at the immigration office and helped me get a snapp to the right office. I got it all done in 15 minutes without any documentation! So grateful, thank you so much. Highly recommended place to stay when visiting Hamedan. Worst Experience & Greedy Host Ever!!! If you want to stay at the place that the owner will change the price whenever she wants, then this is probably the right price! The manager changed the price and tried to overcharge over 43% of the original price that I just agreed to pay ten minutes ago!!! And then kick the guest out because I didn't agree with her ridiculous-dictatorship attitude!!! Since she can't speak English, even asked another guest to translate her anger and then forced him to put pressure on the guest!!! (Can obviously see her eyes sparkling with excitement when seeing the dollar bill, pathetic!!!) Do yourself a flavor, stop wasting people's time by over-charging & stop ruining travellers' good mood, cuz Karma is everywhere!!!

The Hamadan Archeological Museum is located at the ancient hill of Hegmataneh, considered to be the largest ancient hill in Iran. The museum houses a small but valuable collection of artifacts and objects from nearby excavation sites, including stone carvings, pottery, tools, utensils, coins, and even a silver spoon dating back to 500 BC. Despite its size, visitors can enjoy wandering around the museum and admiring the exhibits.
all exhibits were beautiful and interesting. I loved the stone carvings in particular. visit the courtyard of the museum to find them.

A very important site in the city of Hamedan—something no one should miss if interested in ancient history of Iran
Saeed R — Google review
Great! I liked this place. No matter that it's a small museum and has a small set of artifacts and explored objects from nearby excavation sites, it still gives you such a good time to wander around. The exodus Sefer of old testament (Torah) was one of the objects that caught my eye in particular. 10/10 suggest paying a visit there

If you find yourself in the enchanting city of Hamedan and have a passion for astronomy, make sure to visit the Ebn-e Salah-e Hamedani Observatory and Astronomy Center. This remarkable facility offers an incredible opportunity to delve into the wonders of the universe. Perched on Haj-Inayat Hill, it boasts two advanced sky domes equipped with powerful telescopes that allow visitors to gaze at celestial events like lunar eclipses up close.
During a lunar eclipse, there was an open event in this observatory. People went there and used their telescopes to see the eclipse, I used one of the telescopes too, it was really beautiful. Afterwards, we took a tour inside the observatory, It is a well-equipped observatory, including two advanced sky domes with two telescopes. The observatory is located at a hill named "Haj-Inayat" hill. The hill itself is a great place for cityscape photography. However, the hill is not crowded most of the time, and you may find yourself alone there, so be cautious, especially when you carry your camera or mobile phone!!!

Courses like "a course in universe's structure" or "an introduction to Celestial mechanics" and some other interesting courses and meetings are held in the observatory in which you can learn sth useful and as well have fun

(Translated by Google) The tomb of this imamzadeh is located in Khizr region in the northeast of Hamadan city, on top of the hill with the same name. The building has a square shape with dimensions of 4.50 meters on each side and a domed roof on top of it. What is most noticeable in this building is the beautiful and exquisite linear decorations that have been added on the borders of the four sides of its inner front. There are two opinions about the person buried in the mausoleum, some believe that this is the sole resting place of Hazrat Khizr Nabi, as the late Mustafavi, a famous archaeologist, only mentions this place as the mausoleum of Khizr and does not mention that the mausoleum is Imamzadeh. Some others believe that the current tomb belongs to Imamzadeh, they have no information about his noble lineage, and this is what he is famous for today. According to Ibn Tabataba, among the arrivals in the city of Hamadan in the 5th century, Ishaq al-Ahnaf bin Isa bin Muhammad al-Akbar bin Ali al-Arizi bin Imam Jafar al-Sadiq is among those who entered the city of Hamadan, and he says that he had five descendants named Isa, Ibrahim, Musa, Tahir and It was Muhammad. Abu al-Hasan Omri, Imam Fakhr Razi, Allama Marozi and Allama Umidi have also mentioned the same saying. He also considered the cousin of this imamzadeh named Abu al-Hussein Isa bin Ibrahim bin Isa al-Naqeeb bin Muhammad al-Akbar bin Ali al-Arizi to be a resident of Hamadan, and he insisted that his generation continue in this city. Allama Nassaba Amidi, from the announcement of the 9th century of Hijri, mentions Abdullah Al-Ahnaf bin Isa al-Naqeeb bin Muhammad Al-Akbar bin Ali Al-Arizi bin Imam Jafar Sadiq, the brother of Ishaq Al-Ahnaf, a resident of the city of Hamedan, and writes: He had 13 sons, including Khizr, Ishaq, Hussain, Abdullah, Isa, Hamza, Tahir and Ali are famous for their appeal. Therefore, it is clear that Imamzah Khizr bin Abdullah al-Ahnaf bin Isa al-Naqeeb bin Muhammad al-Akbar bin Ali al-Arizi bin Imam Jafar Sadiq, who is related to the sixth Imam through four intermediaries, lived in Hamadan. He was Seyyed Jalil al-Qadr, noble, and from the family of niqab, majesty and dignity. Apparently, Syed Khizr died in the last quarter of the 4th century.
