Cerro de la Virgen is a challenging hike located in the southern entrance of the city, accessible via Avenida Champaqui. The steep trail takes about 45 minutes to an hour to ascend its 240 meters, offering stunning views of the valley from the top. It's recommended to bring water, comfortable shoes, and a hat due to limited shade along the way. Once at the summit, there are benches and some shade where hikers can relax and enjoy the scenery.
I've been here several times and had a great experience. It's not a difficult trail and it takes about 30 mins to reach the summit
Amiel L — Google review
Peak gives a great view of the area. Trail is medium if you have reasonable fitness as it basically is following what looks to be an old stream bed and water tends to take the most direct route when flowing down hill. I am early 50’s, overweight and short but I made it up in running shoes in 50 mins going at a gentle pace. Going down was as hard as going up because of the rough terrain and I would suggest proper hiking boots if you have weak ankles. Take water and sunscreen if you are there on a sunny day / in warm weather.

This is the only hike we did in Villa General Belgrano. We had a great time. It was more difficult than we expected but it was a lot of fun! We met the community dog, Alegra, halfway up and she followed us all the way up and back down into town. She is a very good dog.

The hike is more difficult than I expected but very worth it. Free to enter. Easy to find entrance off the main road. Nice views from the top!

Beautiful path to trek and enjoy the whole village view at the top.. If you continue a few meters upwards, opposite the village, you'll find Pico Alemán.

The Historical Museum and Cultural Center Villa General Belgrano is a small yet captivating museum located near the Tourist Office. It serves as a custodian of the city's past, showcasing artifacts, documents, and photos that narrate the Germanic roots and historical evolution of the area. Visitors can explore exhibits featuring antiques and a special section dedicated to the Battleship Graf Spee, which sank in Rio de la Plata in 1939.

(Translated by Google) I went to this museum hoping to learn more about the history of the Graf Spee. To be honest, I found very little. Just a few artifacts: a junior officer's uniform, some passports, a bronze bomb, and not much else. Then there were newspaper clippings and a model. But the puzzle comes together piece by piece; the wreckage is scattered in many places: Montevideo, Durazno, Punta del Este, and so on.

She explained everything with dedication, showing you how the machines worked (like the telephone) or explaining them (like the film projector) and their origins. She also gave a detailed explanation of the history of Villa General Belgrano (formerly Los Sauces). Highly recommended. I hope to return someday. (Translated by Google) The haunted cabin is fun, and the guide is an excellent storyteller. But other than that, it's a scam, poorly maintained, and the owner is a scammer. He spent two hours telling the kids that the elves would give them a gift when they left... And when they left, the gift was a sticker advertising the place. I can't forgive the disappointment of two 4-year-olds. (Translated by Google) Very good guided tour on the fairy and elf trail and in the haunted house. There is archery and games for children. You can bring mate/food and spend the day. The experience ends with the possibility of dressing up your entire family as fairies, medieval characters, warriors, etc. The price seems high ($1000 adults and children). Maybe children could pay a little less. Interesting detail: you can go out for lunch and return in the afternoon while keeping your morning ticket!

Brewpub
The brewpub Viejo Munich offers exceptional homemade beer and an authentic German dining experience. Visitors can enjoy a tour of the brewery, led by a friendly and knowledgeable guide who shares intriguing insights into the beer-making process. The establishment also boasts a wide selection of dark beers that are sure to impress. In addition to their impressive brews, Viejo Munich serves delicious German cuisine with good service (though it may be slower during peak hours).
I wouldn’t have thought to be this delighted! I’m coming from Germany and entered the Viejo Munich just to fill my tummy, without any expectation, except the thought “well another restaurant that tries to imitate something that doesn’t exist anymore in Germany” (there, the traditions don’t get the attention like here which I find a pity). I was the only guest because it was 4pm - another plus: you can eat whenever you want! I was immediately getting in the mood for bratwurst and sauerkraut (which I hadn’t had for ages in Germany) through the traditional Bavarian music - not too loud or intrusive - and all the wooden decoration and souvenirs as decoration. Looking at the menu I couldn’t decide because there were so many authentic dishes, also Schwarzbrot (black bread) with Leberwurst (spreadable liver sausage). I enjoyed my meal called “Salchicha Berna” (in german „Berner Würstchen“) and especially the beer! Afterwards I got told by the nice waitress that they produce their own sausages and beer. I don’t exaggerate but this beer was the best I had for a long time. Such a Great, slightly fruity but not too fruity like in an ipa taste. You can buy their products in their boutique too. I’m definitely coming back today for getting some bottles of this delicious beer. Enjoy! Greetings from Hamburg, Germany ⚓️

Best beer I could find in Argentina. I appreciate the German food, slightly curious about the history here.... Part of me doesn't dare to ask, though.

Excellent homemade beer. We did not eat in just visited the brewery and had a couple of drinks. The guy in charge of the visit was very friendly and knowledgeable. I actually learn a couple of very interesting facts about the process of making beer. Then we had a tasting. The dark beer will not disappoint you!
Nicolás P — Google review
The restaurant itself looks classy & vintage. The food is pretty good. You have typical German dishes with many of them including sauerkraut. The service tends to be slow and the waiters not very outgoing. Other than that, it’s pretty good place overall.
David O — Google review
Very authentic German food. Good service as long as the place isn’t too busy. Go as early as possible to get a good table, otherwise the place gets very busy.
Kortney O — Google review
We enjoyed that. Food was good, beer really German /Czech Pilsner style. The only missing was german volksmusik 😎.
Tomas K — Google review
The burgers are clearly store bought. Overpriced tourist trap. If you want a good burger, head across the street. The old building, and the history of it, is pretty cool though.
Gregorious M — Google review
Expensive given the bad quality of the food. A kids burger was 10K pesos which included a single frozen patty and some smashed potato. No bun/bread or anything else (it was "al plato"). Imagine that , a burger without bun for a kid. A tabla of embutidos, all bad quality was 35K pesos or around 30USD. Skip this place.

(Translated by Google) Sat 19.04.25 in the morning. We lived a magical experience. Magical why? For the beauty of simplicity at its finest. We arrived at the place because of the advertising of the pond in the center of Villa General Belgrano. It should be noted that we have a mini pond in the garden and we are interested in the matter. The owners welcomed us and showed us the facilities and patiently explained to us about all the plants on display. We shared the experience with other visitors to whom they gave the same attention, meanwhile the hummingbirds fluttered near their feeders. Although it was inevitable for us to buy, we understood that if we had only gone to visit it would have been worth it. More than sellers, they are people exposing and talking about their passion to the visitor. Alejandro dedicatedly prepared the water lilies for us for the safe trip to Buenos Aires and added, as a courtesy, one, "Nymphoides Indica" that has already bloomed and is displayed in one of the photos uploaded. Experience 98 out of 100 points, if there was a table with a thermos of coffee or mate and some biscuits to accompany the visit it would be 100 points hahahahaha. Extremely recommended!! If we return to VGB we will visit again. Extremadamente recomendable!! Si volvemos a VGB volveremos de visitar.

By paying $1000 pesos for admission, the owners give you a guided tour and teach you about the entire world of aquatics. They also teach you tips, care and which species is most recommended for your home if you want to have one. They sell very good specimens and there is a lot of variety to choose from. Once you see them in person it's hard to get rid of the desire to have one. (Translated by Google) I don't usually give such a high score (you can corroborate my other reviews). I went to eat a mushroom pizza ($450) at night. The price justifies its quality. From the use of a real sourdough prepared with 00 flour, to the ingredients it contains, its baking, sponginess, the alveoli of the dough and its crispy external texture are an explosion of flavor in the mouth. The kindness of the pizza maker, with whom I had the opportunity to speak, and the teacher's assistant who brings the pizza to the table complete the experience; or you can take it with you to eat on the road. It can be said that it was, in the words of the pizzaiolo, a guaranteed trip to Italy. I will gladly return and recommend it to my friends. All you need to do is try the Gelatto. Cash only. Solo efectivo.

Exceptional visit. The Calamuchita wine region is just starting to receive attention. It is truly a hidden gem and the best vineyard in Calamuchita is Famiglia Furfaro. I have been tasting wines all over the world including Bordeaux, Napa, Sonoma, and Tuscany. Famiglia Furfaro has wines that are equal in quality. (Translated by Google) Excellent service. In a few years, it'll be a fabulous winery! You can tell it's a new project and it will have great potential. No matter what, this place will be top-notch in 5 years. I hope they keep putting their money where their mouth is. They have gluten-free food, food for celiacs. That's very good. The tour was very good. With a good vibe. The views are excellent. The outside seating is very comfortable (I'd add more cushions to support your back and head. Relax. And maybe make the tables bigger). The menu is fabulous. The sweet and sour appetizers were a 10. I tried 7 of the wines. I prefer the young ones. The Reserva and Gran Reserva wines have too much oak presence (a classic from low-altitude grapes that don't have much power). But the wines are a different topic altogether. The winery, as a wine tourism destination, is a 10.

Sineres Fabrica de Espumantes - Bodega Champañera stands out as the first and only exclusive producer of sparkling wine using the traditional méthode champenoise in Córdoba. A visit here is a delightful journey that takes you through the production facility, including a fascinating underground cellar. The experience culminates with a guided tasting of three signature wines, perfectly paired with delectable pastries and cheeses that enhance their effervescence.

(Translated by Google) We went with a prior reservation to take the guided tour with tasting and snacks. The truth greatly exceeded our expectations. Andrea is a total divine, very clear in her explanations, very enjoyable! It's very crazy how it made us interested in sparkling wine when we really don't even take it into account. Particularly, I will always continue choosing wine, but I liked knowing more about the subject and considering it as an option. At first they welcomed us with a glass of a 2021 Malbec Rosé. Then they showed us the entire production process while telling us about the history. Finally, in the “dining room” they were waiting for us with the snack prepared by Andrea, very good and original, and then paired with two glasses of sparkling wines, one of Chardonnay and the other of Malbec. I highlight the pear scones soaked in aperol with poppy (I need the recipe), the cookies with homemade blueberry jam and blue cheese and the figs in syrup with cheese, although the cheese with pepper was also very good, basically I highlight everything! Laura is also very cool! Great experience to do at least once, go, you won't regret it!
