The Renaissance building that contains it, with its frescoes in the domes, is a work of art on its own right. It offers didactic activities for children and adults alike, and truly remarkable temporary exhibitions in its patio every now and then.

Located quite close to the Railway station, this architectural gem, is one of the main features of this town you may see upon your arrival. Laredo’s Palace is a wonderful Neo-Mudéjar building with a romantic nineteenth-century backyard, built in a time where its own architectural style was already out of fashion. You can’t miss this beautiful oddity if you’re visiting Alcalá.

Really enjoyed the experience here. Seen the Bible in 5 volumes written in 4 languages. All the history of the kings and queens were amazing.

Laredo's Mansion is a beautiful Neomudejar building from the late 19-th century, situated halfway between Álcala's city center and the train station. As of March 2021, there are no guided tours. But you can visit the interior for €1, which must be paid in cash at the entrance. They don't have change, nor do they accept credit/debit cards. The building's current state of affairs is pretty sad. Many rooms as well as the garden are closed, probably due to the pandemic. The highlights are the medieval "Kings room", which features several royal portraits, and two other rooms with quirky Arab decorations and tiles. There are no written explanations of the rooms. Given that there's currently not that much to see, your visit shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. For €1, I think it's still worth it.

It has a nice outer architecture, worth seeing it. Inside of it is actually cool but once you enter, you are allowed to see 2 rooms upstairs and few saloons in the ground floor, so not much to visit inside. There is no ticket actually, once you enter you give 1€ for the place and that's all, takes at most 30 mins. And we couldn't enter the garden, it was closed.

Nicke spot, but very scarce in information and poor quality of facilities. Interesting part of the Roman history in Hispania. Well worth a better budget. No protection from rain and sun.

This was fascinating, if you like Roman history you'll love this place. They did a great job explaining it (in English as well as Spanish) and heloing you imagine what this little villa was really like. Free entry and the staff is super great, I would go back if I could.

Both in Complutum and here we enjoyed a kind of theater teaching us several important concept about Roman habits.

It is the largest and most important square in Alcalá de Henares. Even during the Renaissance, it was an important place for the city. In the center of the square, there is a statue dedicated to Cervantes in the late 19th century. At the southern end, there is a music hall built in the late 19th century. The trees alongside the square stand out.

Beautiful and historic place, right in the middle of Alcalá de Henares. Many restaurants and bars nearby, definitely a nice place to visit.

The plaza is lovely, and lively too. The roses however are not within reach if you're looking for a sensory experience to sniff a flower or two. But I believe it was necessary to keep the garden well-maintained. Beautiful park, regardless. We stayed at a nearby accommodation, about 100m away from the plaza. Good morning walk around the area searching for a breakfast place.

This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site university town. Not the grandest of world heritage sites but very historic. It was founded by Cardinal Jiménez de Cisneros in the early 16th century. Alcalá de Henares was the world's first planned university city. Not to be confused with being the oldest as this goes to Bologna in Italy. It has some pleasant historic buildings, a neat plaza and is well worth a visit as it’s a nice town. Just don’t expect an Oxford or Sorbonne.
