The Church of St. Mary Magdalene is a captivating historical gem that offers visitors a glimpse into the past, dating back to around 700 AD. Nestled along the funeral route of Queen Eleanor to London, this church boasts remarkable features such as the Mulso brass honoring John and Johanna Mulso, hidden beneath a modern rug yet rich in medieval charm.
Beautiful and peaceful. Perfect for my grandparents final resting place. Please keep up on the overgrown grass this year though, it ruins it
Mish B — Google review
A treasure trove. The celebrated Mulso brass—commemorating John and Johanna Mulso in all their medieval finery—lies snugly hidden beneath a modern rug. Save your jaw from dropping too early—there’s still the medieval reredos to behold. Flanking the altar, its painted panels by Sir Ninian Comper (with roots back to the 1350s) glow with restored colour and gilded detail, each saintly visage now free of centuries-old grime. It’s the church’s dazzling finale, a riot of crimson, gold, and divine drama. If you thought you could soak up these treasures in peace, be warned Kam Tours pops up like the shopkeeper in Mr Benn. Exuding enough enthusiasm to resurrect even the sternest Saxon ancestor. Geddington Church isn’t just a holy stop on the map; it’s a treasure hunt, an impromptu theatre, and a rug-bound mystery all rolled into one.
Jo G — Google review
This old church is the overnight resting place of Queen eleanor on the funeral route to london. inside the main aisles the original building line can be seen from the old doorway that is nearly 3 foot from the floor inside. many well preserved floor brass and stone flags remembering the great and good of the county. An old walled up doorway to the tower sits to the left of the main door into the church inside and the stone flag stairs are still in place behind the walled up door. the slit windows can still be seen from outside in the tower corner

Brilliant friendly welcoming church. Great for families, old and young. Lively worship and good teaching. 800 years old as a congregation in 2017, but modern in outlook. Traditional without being stuffy. Give it a try. 11 a.m on Sundays

An amazing church, that is in regards to the people involved within it, the messages in which they provide us with and the aesthetics within it. A truly mesmerising place to go and is always doing something to help spread the word of the lord. With services being on Sunday’s in the morning and on Wednesdays and with a wide array of different things to do throughout the week. A nice and caring kid friendly church too. Has an amazing little band that plays songs and hymns beautifully! I honestly can’t tell you how great this church truly is and how much it has changed my life. I truly advise you to give it a shot! May god be with you all! ❤️🙏

Great sense of community. Congregation of a mixed age... innovative outreach and very friendly vicar and team. Well worth staying for tea and coffee after the service

Disgusting the way they treat the graves in the memorial garden. No respect. All artifical flowers dumped in bin bags, all trinkets and momentos treated like trash. I hate that my mother is buried here. It gives me more anxiety and depression that she is within your 'care'.

The parish priest took great care to keep the church clean, with fresh flowers and decorations.
