Park
Viña del Mar Park is a triangular green space that boasts lovely benches and grassy areas for visitors to relax in. It is famous for its magnificent elephant statues and fountain, which are some of the park's most popular attractions. The park also has several shops, restaurants, and cool parks nearby where one can spend quality time with family or friends. For those who love fishing, there are opportunities to do so as well.
This place is simply amazing full of beautiful scenery lots of shops and restaurants, cool parks to enjoy your day with a family or friends, grab a fishing rod and you can fish as well. If you would like to sit in the park on the grass they have social distancing circles spray painted on the grass.

It’s a nice little park outside the Sausalito waterfront and downtown. Has an attractive water fountain and elephant structures at the entrance giving a nice photo opportunity.

Great place to visit, but don’t stop on what you can see at a first glance, there are few great spots and views at Sausalito!!!
Armando G — Google review
Very beautiful and picture worthy spot though every once in a while mostly every couple weeks to a month me and my girlfriend would see this gigantic looking guy that comes to the fountain in this park to steal coins and goes about as far as climbing in and around it to get as much coins as he possibly can and surprisingly I haven't seen any cops come to confront the guy not that I want that to happen just something I've noticed and honestly he doesn't seem to bother anyone and seems to be nice to people that encounters him though other than that it's a pretty good spot to hang out and enjoy a nice ice cream or simply read a book if you can drown out the noise
Kevin B — Google review
A nice grassy area with statues and a fountain. This park has no seating and there isn't much to see. It's nice though.
Neal — Google review
A cool park & monument just metres from the ferry exit celebrating the sister city of Chile.

Beautiful views on the sea side and on San Francisco !

Tiny city park next to the ferry with an elephant statue. It's very lovely but the fun doesn't last long.

Seafood restaurant
Scoma's of Sausalito is a classic waterfront restaurant that offers stunning views and fresh seafood. The restaurant has its own boat, ensuring year-round availability of fresh catches like salmon and Dungeness crab. Chef Gordon Drysdale revamped the menu to align with the Monterey Bay Aquarium Seafood Watch program, featuring dishes like whole crab, chowder, and grilled fish.
We had a great meal at this iconic seafood spot located on a small wharf jutting out into the bay on a cool and drizzly Saturday in April. While we were hoping for more hospitable weather so as to enjoy the view, San Francisco’s notoriously climate pushed in some light rain. Nonetheless, we arrived early for our 6:45 reservation and were very pleased to be seated in the prime part of the restaurant-a porch like area all the way at the end surrounded on three sides by windows. With large mirrors on the walls, everyone has a view to the water. This part of the place seats maybe 20 people. There’s another larger area in the center with windows on two sides but you’ll want to try to get these prime spots if you can. This place is bustling and the efficient waiters are constantly filling water glasses and bringing food and clearing tables. The menu focuses on seafood. We had had a big lunch so decided to do salads and appetizers. Both The arugula pear salad and the special gem salad were fantastic-fresh and flavorful. The Dungeness crab cakes and Spanish style shrimp (Gambas) were also wonderful. I’m a sucker for good sour dough bread and theirs didn’t disappoint. Toss in a couple of glasses of Grgich hills fume blanc and it’s just about my perfect meal in the Bay Area. Well done.
Jim R — Google review
Food was amazing, had fresh Calamaris and clam chowder soup for appetizer, Dungeness crab spaghetti for main--everything was flavorful and you can tell the freshness. Service was great, walked in did not have a reservation (I DO NOT RECOMMEND, GET RESERVATION WHEN YOU CAN), still catered to my little family and sat us by the bar. The hostess was very accommodating, and the rest of the waitstaff were 10/10.

Beautiful setting for any occasion! Friendly staff. Excellent menu. We enjoyed the white clam chowder, crab and shrimp cakes, and sole and lobster risotto mains. Hubs drank the California old fashioned. It came with the large ice he likes. Our waiter took our picture with the tiramisu decorated plate. Lovely dining experience.

Very nice restaurant! Bread is amazing. Our waiter was fantastic. They all pitch in to make sure your water and breast are never empty as well. Delicious meals!
Melody A — Google review
The food are so delicious! We ordered clam chowder and prawn as starters, sweet scallop, lobster risotto, and fish as main courses. So good! The staff are friendly. We can enjoy the sea view while eating. There is a big mirror on the wall so people sitting on all sides can see the sea. Smart arrangement. Definitely will visit again.

I can genuinely say this is one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I walked in, everything—from the warm and attentive service to the incredible food—was absolutely top-notch. The dishes were served piping hot shortly after I placed my order, and every bite was bursting with flavor. I’ll admit, I didn’t even have the patience to take perfect photos because the food looked and smelled so amazing—I just had to dig in. It’s rare to find a place where both quality and care shine through so clearly. This meal left a lasting impression, and I can’t wait to come back.

If you're hungry and happen to be in Sausalito, dine at Scoma's! we stopped in for lunch recently. The managers and servers were very friendly and accommodating of our family of seven. Everything from the decor to the service was smooth, efficient and relaxed. The water view and bay windows made everything gorgeous. My cioppino was delicious, as was the pear and arugula salad. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. This may be TMI, but the men's room even has a privacy curtain. I've never seen that before! Good on them! I hope to return someday. Thanks for a memorable family lunch!

I want to give a special thanks to Alfonso D for his great customer service he provided us. The food is mind blowing. Also I can tell the entire team is on top of every detail ( thanks to all of them as well ) . I’m definitely coming back to enjoy the atmosphere there is here.

Napa Valley Burger Company is a cozy restaurant in Sausalito, California that offers carefully sourced gourmet burgers and fries, as well as local wines. The warm space features brick walls and has been serving customers since 1992. This family-owned establishment also offers Scandinavian classics like Danish meatballs and Norwegian salmon alongside their signature open-face Copenhagen burger. On Sundays, they offer a special brunch menu for visitors to enjoy.
Whether you’re going for lunch or dinner, Napa Valley Burger Company will not disappoint. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Lucas, who was courteous, professional, and truly set the tone for a great meal. We decided to try the Turkey Swiss Avocado Burger which was a delightful combination of flavors—the juicy turkey patty complemented by the creamy avocado and melted baby Swiss cheese made each bite satisfying. The Fish Tacos were fresh and well-prepared, a great option for seafood lovers. The Waffle Fries—crispy, golden, with melted jack and cheddar cheese. With ranch dressing on the side, I just kept going at it. The restaurant offers a welcoming atmosphere with excellent food and service. If you're in the area and craving a great burger or some delicious comfort food, Napa Valley Burger Company is definitely worth a visit!

Chill environment. Music was low so you can have a normal conversation. There are a couple of TVs on. They have a full bar and draft beers. We just shared the onion rings. They were crispy with fresh onions. When you bit into them they had a crunch and the entire onion didn't pull out it came with Chipotle aioli and ranch.

I went here yesterday, and it was a really nice spot. The atmosphere was beautiful, very Napa-style, elegant and cozy inside, with a clean and pleasant vibe. The service was okay, nothing too special, but fine overall. We ordered an Angus beef burger with American-style hot dog sausage, and it was delicious. The highlight for me was definitely the sweet potato fries, seriously amazing, super crispy and flavorful. Although they did have a slight taste of old frying oil. Other than that, the food was great, prices were fair, and it’s a place I’d definitely visit again.
Caue H — Google review
The food was ok. The burger and fries were delicious. Our son did not like the chicken fingers. They were not fresh. Tasted like they were frozen. Two children thought the grilled cheese was ok. They were prepared on burger buns. One son had the kids burger and was happy. The golden margaritas are strong and delicious. The restaurant was very busy during lunch. The ambiance is kind of a pub like feel. The service was fast and friendly.

I do not have much to say except it's hands down my best burger ever. I've been there in 2018 & now in 2025 - nothing changed, always a great team, nice service & amazing burgers. You need to go there !

I never say "no" to a good burger.....and I'm certainly glad I didn't say "no" to this one! I ordered the "Sausalito Burger" and it ranks amongst the best burgers I've ever had, although a bit on the messy side (but what great burgers aren't?)! The accompanying fries were also cooked to perfection! The service was beyond efficient and the washrooms were spotlessly clean. Give them a try!!! I'll be returning!!!

Wonderful place with amazing flavors! Their kids’ menu and sandwiches are both excellent. The staff is very understanding, kind, and friendly, which makes the experience even better. Great spot for families — highly recommended! 👏🍔✨
Cenk — Google review
This is one of the better dining options in Sausalito. Having said that, the food is good, but not amazing. We just wanted something super quick after having biked a good 5 miles, so we were just glad to get a seat. We sat at the bar. The bartender was pretty nice. We ordered a beer and a sangria. The sangria was delicious. I always rate my sangrias based on how much wine I taste, the less, the better because it means the drink is smoother. This one hit the mark there for sure. The food was just ok. We got their yountville burger and the fish tacos. The plates were big. The burger had bacon along with the usual suspects. Most of the plate was occupied by the salad. The burger was decent, just like any other burger. We didn't finish the whole thing because of how large the portion was. The fish taco plate came with 2 fish tacos and a big salad. The tacos were ok. There was a large piece of grilled fish with avocados. Between the two, the tacos were definitely better. They were difficult to eat because of how big the tacos were. These tacos are nowhere close to the real authentic tacos you'd get in San Diego but they were good enough. Salsa did not have any salt in it so it was disappointing. Pricing wise, the whole check is on the higher end of the range for what we ate, but that is Sausalito for you!

You ever been to a store and wish you could buy everything? This was it for me. I wanted all the things. Amazing store arrangement, even more stunning selection of goods, and the staff were first class. The sale section was quite robust and had many selections.

Sooo aesthetically pleasing. It's sad that beautiful simplicity in the US has to be incredibly expensive, but there it is. There's a seconds aisle that's a bit cheaper and still very very nice. Also a seconds tile shed out back.

Always love stopping here. I think the second can be more interesting than the bits that are considered perfect. Also very helpful staff looked in the back for a second in a color that was not out on the floor for me.
Nicholas M — Google review
My parents decided to retile their kitchen so I went to the tile shed while they looked at colors. Lots of fun shapes, sizes, and glazes! The stock in the shed turns over fairly often so if you are looking for a specific color but don’t meet the minimum square footage requirement for an order go back to check the shed every once in a while and you might just find it. The overstock shed has different hours than the store so be aware of that. I got some random boxes and a couple of other shapes for a mosaic I was making.

The Golden Gate Bridge is simply Spectacular! I recommend visiting the visitors center at the south entrance. Here you can learn about the history of the bridge. Absolutely astonishing how these engineers and steel workers survived brutal cold elements to construct this bridge! Visit Fort Point National Historic Site at the base of the bridge for more Historic facts. Take the 1 hour bay cruise and the boat travels underneath the bridge for an unbelievable experience! I recommend driving to the north side of the bridge through the Marin Headlands and visit Golden Gate Bridge overlook it is a breathtaking view of the bridge and you can look into the city of San Francisco.

The Golden Gate Bridge is absolutely stunning and one of the most iconic sights in the world. The bright red color, the ocean breeze, and the sweeping views of San Francisco Bay make it unforgettable. Walking or biking across is an amazing experience you can see the city skyline, Alcatraz, and the Marin Headlands all in one view. Whether it’s covered in fog or glowing at sunset, it’s always breathtaking. A true masterpiece of design and a must-see when visiting San Francisco!

The Golden Gate Bridge was fantastic! Went during the week, not crowded. Was able to cruise across at our leisure and not worry about someone on our ass. Fisherman's Wharf was quiet, no lines. Food is always great in the area. And I'm talking about seafood. Everything is slowed down during the week. We really enjoyed our time there. Hotels were plentiful and cheaper. Looking forward to another visit.
Matt M — Google review
I'm not sure how you even review a bridge, but since I have never driven across the Golden Gate before now, I will say this: it is iconic for a reason. Gorgeous construction, incredible views...and frighteningly, unbelievably narrow lanes for its whole length. Seriously.
Jason C — Google review
Okay, if you have not crossed this legendary Landmark whether by car, bike or walking, you are missing out! Wife and I walked it thinking it was going to be a bit windy and chilly! Quite the opposite, the weather was perfect! I mean perfect! We both wrapped our jackets around our waist and began our walk. Stopped along the way and took pics! Got to the other side and rested for about 20 min. Vendors were at the rest area providing grilled hot dogs and mango/watermelon slices with tajin sprinkled all about. We walked back over and on to Crissy Field. Each way is about 1.7 mile walk. Will definitely do that again!
Zul-Tan I — Google review
There’s a reason it’s known the world over. Endlessly fascinating and captivating, you gasp in awe every time you see it. It’s even more fun to walk, bike, or drive across. I visited several times on my recent visit and still love it. Can’t be missed!
Cliffb1930 — Google review
A childhood dream come true! Visiting the Golden Gate Bridge was a truly special moment for me — something I’ve dreamed of since I was a child. It always reminded me of the TV series Charmed, and seeing it in person felt surreal. The engineering is absolutely incredible, and it’s such a beautiful bridge to walk across — or even to explore by bike if you prefer. A must-see landmark that perfectly combines beauty, history, and innovation.

The Palace of Fine Arts, located in San Francisco's Marina District, is a stunning Greco-Roman architectural marvel originally built as an art exhibition space for the 1915 International Expo. Designed by architect Bernard Maybeck, it features Ionic-style columns and a lagoon surrounded by beautiful gardens and walking paths. Renovated in the 60s and 70s, this iconic structure offers visitors the chance to admire its grandeur and take leisurely strolls through its picturesque surroundings.
Yesterday I had the incredible privilege of visiting the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco with my lady and our dogs, and it is an experience I will never forget. Built in 1915 for the Panama Pacific International Exposition, this monumental landmark was designed by Bernard Maybeck to resemble a ruin from ancient Rome, a reminder of timeless beauty rising from history itself. Though the original structure was never meant to last, the people of San Francisco loved it so much that it was carefully rebuilt in the 1960s, ensuring that its breathtaking magic would remain for future generations. Walking through the grounds felt like entering another world. The moment we stepped onto the path, the massive rotunda came into view, its towering dome rising above us, reflected perfectly in the shimmering lagoon. Our dogs tugged forward with excitement, noses full of new scents, tails wagging as if they too understood they were somewhere special. The columns soared above us in endless rows, each carved detail catching the light of the afternoon sun. Every angle revealed something new — archways framing the sky, shadows stretching across the walkways, and water birds gliding effortlessly across the lagoon. Sharing that walk with my lady made the moment even more meaningful. Hand in hand, we strolled beneath arches that felt eternal, pausing often to just soak in the view. She pointed out the way sunlight sparkled off the water while I watched our dogs explore the grass, trotting happily under the shadow of something monumental. We laughed as they tried to chase a duck swimming just out of reach, their playfulness adding life to a place already so alive with history and art. The whole experience felt like a perfect balance of romance, history, and simple joy. What struck me most was the atmosphere of peace and reflection. Though the Palace is grand in scale, it feels intimate when you are there. You can sense the echoes of the millions of people who have walked its paths before, yet in that moment it felt like it was ours alone. Sitting on a bench beneath the dome, with my lady by my side and our dogs resting at our feet, time seemed to slow down. We were surrounded by beauty, but more than that, we were part of it. It felt cinematic, like living inside a masterpiece painting that celebrates love, life, and the wonder of human creativity. The Palace of Fine Arts is not just an architectural treasure, it is an experience that stays with you. It represents the resilience and imagination of San Francisco while offering a sanctuary of calm in the middle of a bustling city. Yesterday it gave us more than just a visit, it gave us a memory — one filled with laughter, beauty, and connection. If you ever find yourself in San Francisco, this is not a place to pass by. It is a must-see, a place that will inspire you, ground you, and remind you of how important it is to preserve spaces that make us feel truly alive. For me, yesterday was one of the most magical days I have spent in this city, and I will carry the memory of that walk with my lady and our dogs at the Palace of Fine Arts for the rest of my life.

Absolutely stunning! The Palace of Fine Arts is one of San Francisco’s most beautiful and peaceful spots. The architecture is breathtaking, and the reflection of the dome in the lake makes it perfect for photos. It’s a great place to take a walk, relax, or just enjoy the calm atmosphere. Whether you visit during the day or evening, it always feels magical. A must-visit for anyone exploring SF!
Srikarthik K — Google review
Lovely, absolutely lovely. So many spots to take pictures and very well mainted. Each time we visit SF, we make a stop here just to relax and take a small walk around the place. Almost feels like you are in a completely different country. Would definitely recommend stopping by.

The Palace of Fine Arts is absolutely breathtaking! The architecture alone is worth the visit..grand, elegant, and timeless. Walking around the lagoon feels like stepping into a dream, with the reflection of the columns dancing on the water. It’s peaceful, romantic, and full of beauty from every angle. Whether you’re there for photos, a quiet stroll, or just to admire the view, it’s one of the most beautiful spots in San Francisco. The detailing on the rotunda is stunning, especially at sunset when the light hits just right. I could have stayed there all day. This place is a must-see!

Amazing architecture! Take a stroll around the park and spot the waterbirds and turtles! Some of the trees are very old and majestic. The Palace of Fine Arts is a monumental Greco-Roman structure in San Francisco's Marina District. Originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific International Exposition, its grounds feature a tranquil lagoon with swans and turtles, making it a popular spot for picnics and photos.
John M — Google review
Yes yes yes, just go there! We went there during a relatively gloomy afternoon during our last visit to SF and almost decided not to go. Turns out it was one of the highlight of our trip. Its fun to stroll around the structure but also to just sit and enjoy the ambience. Lots of people are there to take their pictures taken for special happy occasion like weddings, graduation and pregnancy so fun to bask in the loving happy atmosphere in the air! Also a good walking route towards the beach which we took on the way back :)
Gita S — Google review
The Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco is a breathtaking architectural masterpiece that feels timeless. Originally built for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition, its grand rotunda and tranquil lagoon create a serene escape in the city. The reflection of the columns on the water adds to its charm, making it a favorite spot for photos, strolls, and quiet moments of beauty.
Manikandan — Google review
The architecture is breathtaking the grand columns and rotunda are perfect for photos, and the reflection pond adds such a peaceful vibe. It’s a lovely spot for a stroll, a picnic, or just sitting and enjoying the scenery. Even with tourists around, it feels surprisingly calm, especially if you explore the surrounding paths and gardens. The combination of classical architecture, water, and greenery makes it feel almost magical, and it’s one of those places you can return to again and again. I absolutely loved my visit and would definitely go back.

Point Bonita Lighthouse, the third lighthouse built in the West, is a historic active site accessible via a half-mile trail. The lighthouse offers stunning ocean views and is located near Tomales Bay State Park, known for its diverse landscapes. From Point Bonita, visitors can enjoy distant views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco skyline. The lighthouse also offers free monthly sunset and full-moon tours with advance reservations.
This place is open on Sundays and Mondays 12-330pm, but the suspension bridge that connects to the lighthouse is closed for maintenance. The lookouts and trails are very nice to go on. It's somewhat wheelchair accessible down to a certain point, which is before the bridge that leads to the tunnel entrance (for future reference) because it's gets steep. Views are awesome, and air is nice. After the small hike down and back up, you get in some good cardio! Helps get that stored energy out in my kids after long car ride too!

Interesting place to visit with a long history. They have 2-3 times a day, when open, where a ranger talks about it. The Lighthouse itself is off limits to public entering due to structural integrity issues. it is extremely old. Typically Open between 12:30 am-3:00pm. Our family spent an 1-2 hours visiting the area. There is a good, short hike down. Beautiful scenic views. You might get to see deer grazing in a yard across the cove, we did. Good idea for shoes with traction. Slightly steep going back up. Parking is limited, expect to spend a little time looking for some, unless you get lucky.

Point Bonita Lighthouse is a hidden gem for nature lovers, history enthusiasts, and anyone seeking a peaceful escape. located in Marin Headlands, offers breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean and the Golden Gate Bridge. Built in 1855, this historic lighthouse is notable for its picturesque setting and charming architecture. Visitors can access the lighthouse via a scenic walk across a suspension bridge, which adds to the experience's thrill. It takes about 30 mins walk to light house from parking lot. The site also features a small visitor center that shares the lighthouse's rich history, along with stunning coastal views perfect for photography. Lighthouse is open to the public only on weekends and some holidays, the effort to get there is well worth it!
DG G — Google review
Please note the visiting hours! There is no access to the lighthouse itself, and it will not be available until 2027. The bridge to the lighthouse is currently closed for repairs. The tunnel is open from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., on all days of the week except Tuesday and Wednesday. At 12:15 p.m., you can listen to the lighthouse's history from the Ranger, who will then open the tunnel. It's a very atmospheric and cool place, with a beautiful view of the city and the Golden Gate Bridge, provided there isn't too much fog.

My wife and I drove our Vietnamese EV, a VinFast VF8 Plus, 112 miles from Sacramento to this scenic drive and beach on Labor Day, 2025. The weather was perfect, with scattered clouds and a clear sky. There were about a hundred other visitors. We were lucky to find the best parking spot at the Bonita Lighthouse. The walk to the lighthouse was breathtaking, with a 360-degree view of the tall rocky hills, steep cliffs, and the vast body of water, with the Golden Gate Bridge and the city of San Francisco on the horizon. We weren't lucky enough, as we learned that the bridge and the lighthouse were closed until winter 2026 for renovations. We will definitely come back. There are walking trails to explore the nearby Battery Mendell, and South Rodeo Beach is only about a five-minute walk away.
Nam N — Google review
Absolutely Beautiful! The entire hike to get to it was jaw dropping. Unfortunately, when we arrived to the light house it was closed, I believe for renovations due to it being unsafe for the public. I would recommend to ask someone before taking the hike.

📍 Point Bonita Lighthouse is a scenic tourist attraction at the edge of the San Francisco Bay. Wind speeds can be high but the views and cliffs are stunning. Depending on the time of day, locating a parking spot can be difficult. I recommend this location for photography. ★★★★★

My husband finally got a Monday off to join me for a visit to the lighthouse. Unfortunately, heavy fog rolled in today, completely blocking the view. The seaside wind was quite breezy, so we made sure to bundle up. Climbing that long staircase left me completely out of breath by the time we reached the top!

A grocery outlet recently opened. There is a target, subway, West marine, O'Reilly Auto parts, pretty much anything you need including a West Marine for all your boating essentials. They even have quite a wide array of electric charging stations for vehicles.

I didn't have a good experience. The sign said 3,99 and I paid 6,99. I talked with the person in charge and he said that I should have asked for the price before pay, really? I should check all the prices before pay even with a big signs with the price on

One of the nicest and cleanest Ross stores I've ever seen. Very friendly. Great prices. There is also a great place to go for a good mani/pedi. It's a pleasure going in there! The Sausalito Art Festival is an annual event held over Labor Day weekend, showcasing a diverse range of fine art from local artists. Visitors can enjoy live music, delicious food options, and a vibrant atmosphere. The festival offers a great opportunity to explore various art booths, listen to live bands, and indulge in tasty treats while taking in the scenic waterfront views. With its lively ambiance and array of artistic expressions, it's an ideal way to spend the holiday weekend in the Bay area.
Mind-blowing art music and wine ,very cool!

Great art (of all kinds), with many of the artists present. Parking was easy with a shuttle. Was expecting more for food options, but what was available was good (they had burgers, fish n chips, sausages, tacos, turkey legs). The concert area was open and unshaded, so it got very hot unless you were right against the stage or way back under the lone tree.
Jon W — Google review
We have been coming for over 20 years and drive about an hour to get to the festival. Unique quality art that you won't find elsewhere. Unfortunately they do charge to get in but normally you get value add services not found at other art shows. Large shaded areas to get out of the sun, rest, listen to music or have a table to eat at. This year they decided to get rid of all tables, chairs and shade to save money. Unfortunate when you bring your elderly parents and count on the shade and chairs. When you pay 60.00 for 3 people to get in and pay 15.00 for parking, the least they can do is provide shade, chairs and table to eat their over priced food at! No longer a loyal patron!
Deborah J — Google review
Drove 1.5 hrs to get there having pd $ 30.00 each for tickets. Did not have any disabled parking available at 11:15. Paid $15.00 for parking and walked the 3 blocks which is not a big deal if you aren't disabled. There was no shuttle available for the parking by Coamerica Bank. compared to previous visits; if you aren't going to provide basic amenities for your patrons like CHAIRS, TABLES to eat at and SHADE then bag it. Wth! I rested on the retention tanks for the gray water from sinks. But it was partly shaded! Seriously we were out of the cramped aisles for the artists, with zero seating to contemplate a purchase or regroup, by 1:15 after listening to decent music by a Santana tribute band. Last time I was there Grace Slick was singing and I was in a chair with a table in a shaded pavilion. Spent some dough as it was very conducive to that end. I stood trying to juggle my crab cakes (go have these, AWESOME from the Nursery School volunteers!) and beverage and not lose out on my 12" shade spot. Realize it is for charity otherwise I would feel very ripped off. However, I do believe I bought a bill of goods. Spent $45.00 on "art". IF you go, prepare to bring your own tables AND your own shade AND your own chairs . Feeling ripped off.
ValerieWT — Google review
I volunteered last year and it was such a great experience. I loved every minute of volunteering at the ice cream booth, but the best part was walking around afterwards looking at all the different artists booths, listening to music, drinking lemonade on the pier. This is an excellent way to spend Labor Day weekend.
Leandra F — Google review
Can't believe the changes they made. Terrible this year - no shade except.what you could find under the very few trees. Took the entire canopy away that you used to eat and watch the many wonderful bands. No bar on the water. Just sad to pay $30 and have no seating nor shade!
Sutton B — Google review
Great music and tons of art. Good people watching opportunities, too.
Dave S — Google review
Oh was this an unpleasant surprise. Of course the committee would not have known that the temperature would be in the 90s. But the lack of seating could have been predicted. It would have been great to relax for a few seconds with a drink and chat about the events and artists, but I guess that was too much to ask for. At 77, I'm not comfortable standing for that long. I had to cut my visit short and would very much have liked to stay longer. If I were to return I would have to know that there would be seating available in the shade. Diane T

The mix of well maintained and decorated boats, verses those that are just surviving is super interesting to see. Something I never thought about before is, (1) you don't have a back yard, so people and neighbors can see all junk you have stored. (2) you can also just try and move your house boat, but in this small town, I assume that is difficult and requires a wait.

Casa Madrona Hotel & Spa is an elegant accommodation housed in a historic 1885 mansion, offering a full-service spa and an upscale Italian restaurant. Located in the picturesque seaside village of Sausalito in Marin County, the hotel provides stunning views of the harbor and San Francisco Bay. The Victorian heritage blends seamlessly with modern elegance, creating a unique atmosphere for guests to enjoy. While some rooms offer ocean views and balconies, others feature thoughtful amenities like rainfall showers.
We stayed for just one night for a quick getaway. The service was great, staff was welcoming and helpful. The room was clean, elegant, spacious. We also had a nice view of the water. The morning after the staff at the reception was friendly and recommended a couple of breakfast options, we picked one of the two and were super happy. The location of course is the best if you are looking for a place near the center with easy access to all the services and entertainment. We had a brief interaction with the hotel manager who was responsive, helpful, and friendly. Highly recommend.
Andrea T — Google review
The hotel is nice and has a few things that are walkable. I'm not giving five stars because we paid $520 for the one night plus the $100 pet fee and this place has no amenities other than a spa that cost to go to. The room didn't even have a microwave, no breakfast. We booked the harborview king room that had a balcony. It was nice enough, but the huge trees in front of the property. You could only see the harbor if you looked to your far left or far left or right. Nothing directly in front of you. Staff was nice. We would probably come back maybe in the slow season. The room wasn't worth what we paid.

had such a wonderful stay at this hotel in Sausalito! The location is absolutely stunning with beautiful views of the Bay, and the atmosphere was so peaceful and relaxing. What really made my experience extra special was how dog-friendly the hotel is. I brought my pup along, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure we were both comfortable. Our room was perfect, with a beautiful balcony view overlooking the Bay. Sitting out there in the morning with coffee was such a highlight of the trip. I also brought my dog along, and the hotel couldn’t have been more welcoming. From the staff’s Between the view, the location, and the warm hospitality, this was one of the most relaxing getaways we will definitely be returning — next time for an even longer stay!

We spent the last night of our trip at Casa Madrona. We specifically chose this hotel for its boutique charm, peaceful location outside busy San Francisco, and beautiful setting near the marina — and it certainly delivered. The hotel is located within walking distance of shops and restaurants; we had an excellent dinner at Barrel House Tavern with incredible views of San Francisco — highly recommended. We booked a basic Upper Courtyard room (number 475 — worth remembering). The room was clean, nicely decorated, with a comfortable bed and a touch of sea view. The large bathtub for two was a lovely surprise and made for a relaxing evening. At first, the bathtub stopper didn’t work properly and we couldn’t fill the tub, but the issue was resolved very quickly after we reported it — great service. The bathroom included amenities tailored for women — such as make-up remover wipes — which we found thoughtful and useful. However, there was one major issue: noise. The room is adjacent to an electrical utility and laundry room, which resulted in constant mechanical humming — like being on an airplane. It got worse in the morning. This is not what one expects at a hotel of this standard. To their credit, the front desk staff kindly waived our parking fee as a gesture of goodwill. Overall, the hotel is beautifully situated, well-designed, and has friendly staff. We would recommend it — but definitely advise against staying in room 475 due to the noise.
Line V — Google review
Our recent stay at Casa Madrona was a significant disappointment, particularly given the expensive price we paid to stay over the long weekend. The issue was the stark contrast between our assigned room and the images showcased on the hotel's website. We booked a “courtyard view” and the website promises a walkout to a shared courtyard space where one can enjoy for its and other amenities. We had expected a bright, inviting space (as pictured on the site), but instead, we were given a room with one tiny window that offered nothing more than a view of another cement wall. It felt incredibly claustrophobic and certainly not the experience we were led to believe we would have. To make matters worse, the customer service was incredibly unhelpful. Upon realizing the discrepancy, we immediately tried to change rooms, explaining our dissatisfaction with the view and the misleading website representation. However, our request was flat-out denied, with no real attempt to accommodate us or offer an alternative solution. This lack of flexibility and willingness to address a guest's legitimate concerns was incredibly frustrating, especially considering the premium we paid for the stay. Unfortunately we were ultimately disappointed with our stay.
Lauren B — Google review
They have the worse customer experience and service of any hotel I have experienced. After dealing with them, it’s clear that they care very little about their guests. We have had such great experiences with so many hotels that it just shocking when you are exposed to such an uncaring hotel. There are so many great hotels near this one that would have given us such a better experience.
Jody M — Google review
This is an absolute little gem of a hotel we happened to find because our Airbnb did not work out. It has spectacular views; its location is perfect (right near the ferries, boutiques and restaurants.) Our room had rocking chairs on the balcony and a fireplace to enjoy . They provided us with logs each night and the hotel staff could not have been more accommodating! The hotel allows guests use the e-bikes for free (90 min) ... definitely take the bike trail up and down the coast through the marshes of Tamalpais and into Tiburon. Highly recommend this spot!

Bathtub is outdated tub had rust in it jets don’t work either and shower would turn off it was stuck on up. However bed was comfortable and hot tub works great. They have a tarp on the hot tub so we thought it wasn’t working however they later informed us to let us know it keeps it warm. Absolutely great location. My husband and I came to Santa Cruz to celebrate our anniversary, and desired a hotel by the ocean. Boy, were we excited to see just how close this hotel is to not only the boardwalk and the wharf, but to several restaurants as well. They are all within short walking distances. We were so pleased with the welcome that we got at the front desk when we checked in. Our room was just perfect - a little dated, but not too bad. The establishment is very clean, and perfectly located.

Very happy with our stay here. It was quite close to the Santa Cruz boardwalk, and a great place to launch our activities to the beach, the boardwalk and the wharf. The room was clean with a good A/C to keep us comfortable. The breakfast had several choice with the waffle maker being our favorite. Would definitely book again.

This was absolutely horrid. The managers name is Celeste Reynolds and she is extremely rude and condescending. I have no idea why shes running a hotel. Once I spoke to her being extremely calm and nice I expressed that my room in fact had 0 ocean view and was far off of the pictures and I just wanted to relocate to a non ocean view room over $100 cheaper because if im not going to get an ocean view.. why should I pay for one right? after our conversation I could see in her facial expressions that she was getting upset I was even bothering her, her exact words were "I know from that room you mainly see a building but its still an ocean view room" which infuriated me because she herself just said you cant see the ocean from the room, anyways after all of this she said there is nothing she can do for me, told me to go check prices at other hotels, and said "you don't know where youre at". Absolutely HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

The room is very small and the sheets were stained. I didn't book it, my husband did, for an anniversary celebration. It has nice proximity to the boardwalk, but for the price I think we should have stayed somewhere else. To their credit, they did allow us to park there the day we were checking out so that we could ride the train to Felton and back and not have to move our car.

This was my first time visiting SF. I want to come back to SF and I want to always stay at The Monte Cristo! Location: I took the cable car and the bus from Fisherman's Wharf to get up here. There is a bus directly to Union Square. Other places you may have to transfer a few buses. There is a very nice and expensive local grocery store in walking distance. There's a strip of food places on California/Presidio which was walking distance for me too (a little hilly) Experience: It's so beautiful!! It really feels like a dream or straight out of a movie/novel. The staff were very nice. My room was very nice. The shower was really nice. I'm not sure how but it felt like I was the only guest there until I saw other people eating breakfast. The "breakfast" part of the stay was really great too- it was just enough food to start the day, and there are other snacks you can grab on the go. Kinda made the expensive grocery store moot :-) Thank you for the great experience, I will be back!
Sue C — Google review
I had planned some business in the neighborhood so I thought I’d stay nearby and found this B&B on Google Maps with a 4.9 star rating. The building is a wood-construction building from the 1800’s and much of the original interior seems to be intact, which is kind of neat. The bathrooms seem to be recently redone, with nice finishes and even Toto washlets with wall-mounted controls. Our room otherwise was unremarkable with a strange combo of granny furniture and IKEA-grade window coverings and lighting. Bed was fairly comfortable. While the triple glazing did a great job of blocking noise from the street, noise from within was a different story. We could hear a neighboring guest in the throws of sleep apnea, as well as a video call. Breakfast was good but not the “culinary experience” the website would have you believe. (Many packaged items, generic grocery store granola, etc.) The closest metro station is about a 40 minute walk away (although buses are abundant nearby). It was sort of nice staying in a more residential part of town, but if I were to do it over I would have stayed more central, especially if the cost were lower at a hotel.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Monte Cristo. The employees were super nice and helpful. The rooms are spacious and well-decorated. The beds are comfy. The toilet in our room had a heated seat, which was a pleasant surprise! We enjoyed the breakfast that was provided. When we come back to San Francisco, we'll be sure to stay here.

what to even say without just gushing??? firstly, the staff are so incredibly kind, and were willing to work with us coming in on a very late flight and checking in around midnight. the breakfast options are all delicious- i'm still thinking about that quiche over a year later- and they also have a pretty robust selection of snacks laid out at all hours that saved us when we checked in late and needed something before we went to bed. perfectly located; easy to walk to a bus stop that will get you where you need to go within sf, which is also right next to a target that we hit up multiple times for small things we forgot. the room was very comfortable for three, and the bathtub saved my legs after long days of walking. i'm not super tall (5'8") but even that height makes it difficult to find a bath that's actually deep enough to fully soak in. not so here! i could've fallen asleep in that thing and want to try and source one for my own home. this is not a joke. the price was right when split between the three of us, the area felt safe the entire stay, and the breakfast kept us full through most of the day, which helped keep our budgets in line. if i ever find myself in sf again, this is where i'll stay, no question.
Devinne S — Google review
So glad we found this wonderful B&B. It will now be our place to stay when we visit SF. Warm, welcoming, beautiful and well kept up historic building in a quiet neighborhood. We didn't want for anything. Also found parking on a nearby residential street.

We stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect! It is very quaint and feels soo homey. The breakfast was delicious and all the little treats they put out during the day were such a fun addition! The location was also a plus as it was so easy to get pretty much everywhere. I would absolutely stay again! There are a few things that I noticed that I was a little surprised by, the size of our room was smaller than your typical hotel room but was not an issue, there is a full length mirror in the main hallways but we didn’t have one in our room as well as no microwave/fridge. None of these had a major impact on our stay, but just a few things to note. Overall we had a fantastic time at The Monte Cristo and can’t wait to come back!

We stayed here for about 3 nights and had a fantastic stay! The inside was beautiful with charming decor. The first floor has a nice dining and reading area. Breakfast was delicious and had both in person dining and in room dining options. The rooms were spacious, comfortable, and quite. The staff was attentive and kind! Location is great as it's in a quiet area and is close to the Presidio and Golden Gate park. I'd stay here again and would recommend to others.

I stayed here for two weeks and I couldn't have wished to stay anywhere so perfect! Jack, the owner, is very welcoming and friendly, always helpful and ensuring your stay is going well. The people helping with breakfast in the morning are all super nice and the food for the breakfast is really delicious. There's lots of choice between different meats, breads, fruit and the homemade quiche is yummy! The room's are all really clean and everything is changed everyday, so you get fresh towels and a nicely made bed too. The decor of the hotel is very charming and elegant, and has a real touch of beauty about it. Also the location is perfect, as you're only a short drive to the Golden Gate Bridge and the city. The area is one of the wealthiest in America with lots of big houses, which makes you feel very safe. Also it's a lovely clean area. I'd definitely stay there again and I recommend anyone wanting a cute B&B to stay here, a real treasure, would put more than five stars if I could!
