The Bob Marley Museum, located in Kingston, is a must-visit for reggae enthusiasts and anyone interested in the life of the iconic musician. Housed in his 19th-century home, this museum offers guided tours that provide insight into Bob Marley's life and legacy. The colonial-era wooden building has been preserved much as it looked during Marley's time there and is filled with memorabilia, including his gold and platinum records.
The gentleman guide was quite entertaining on the tour of the house, there was a 'sing-a-long' vibe which was hard to resist, certainly on our visit it was worth the entry fee. Perhaps it was the time of the day but the food outlet had very little that was 'ital', they had beer which covered the issue! I was able to get a parking spot without too much difficulty at the venue. Would be a nice house to live in... if it wasn't a museum!
Simon — Google review
This was a great tour! So much history. The tour took an hour. The history and information was great, but there was very little time to enjoy and take in the artifacts. It would have been nice to have some time in the rooms to really look at everything. Although I wouldn't want the tour to be any longer. 1 hour was plenty, but a little time set a side to really take in the art would have been better.
Bella L — Google review
The tour was amazing, Ricky our tour guide was an awesome and very knowledgeable commentator. Well worth the price for a tour to learn the history, and to see the many historical artifacts of the Legendary Bob Marley. My family and I enjoyed the experience.

Visiting the Bob Marley Museum was an incredible experience! Our guide, Irie Sue (Susan), was amazing her energy, humor, and deep knowledge carried us back in time to relive the life and legacy of Bob Marley. She made the tour unforgettable, sharing stories that brought his music and message of love and unity to life. The museum itself is full of history Bob’s home, studio, awards, and personal items are all preserved, giving a real sense of who he was beyond the music. You can feel his spirit in every room. If you’re in Kingston, this is a must-visit. And if you can, ask for Irie Sue as your guide—you won’t regret it!

I learnt so much history on the Greatest of all time. Photography is not allowed inside and I can't blame them, this is something you have to experience in person. Wonderful tour of the premises. Don't worry if you are a smoker there is a little treat at the end of the tour waiting.

Nice place to visit when in Jamaica. Tour guide has amazing energy. It's a tour around the house, not much furniture left though. There's parking spot on premise. The turn into the house is pretty small so don't miss it.

Very good tour and very informative. The only thing was there were too many tour guides there at one time, so it felt a bit rushed. The tour is about an hour . It would have been better if the tour was a bit longer. Jevy was our tour guide who made the tour worthwhile.

Very lovely experience. You will learn a lot. You can take photos and videos in certain places that they allow you to. There is a hidden weed shop and place you can smoke as well. Wasn’t expecting that. Also make sure you check out. Tuff Gong

Emancipation Park in Kingston is a versatile city park that offers a variety of attractions and activities. It features a jogging track, stage for events, and indigenous plant life. Despite its location in the bustling part of the city, the park provides an open and serene environment for personal relaxation or enjoying the scenery. The iconic fountain statue depicting two slaves symbolizes the strength and resilience of the Jamaican people.
This is a very nice park. It was decorated with holiday decorations and fully staffed. The walk trail needs correction but overall this would be a great place to walk/jog/run. They even have a workout section that is open early mornings. Luckily I stayed in the area so I was able to pass through a few times. I also saw peaceful places you could sit and enjoy the day. I would definitely come back to this park and I suggest others come visit as well.
Aminah I — Google review
I visited Emancipation Park recently and honestly, it’s one of the nicest spots in Kingston. The place is so peaceful and beautifully maintained—perfect for walking, jogging, or just relaxing on the lawns. I really enjoyed the tropical gardens, the fountains, and how clean and inviting everything felt. The Redemption Song statue at the entrance is absolutely striking. Standing there, it really makes you pause and reflect on Jamaica’s history and resilience. I also loved noticing the cultural designs worked into the benches and fences—small details that make the park unique. What stood out most was the atmosphere. There were families, joggers, and tourists all enjoying the space, but it still felt calm and welcoming. It’s a place where you can clear your head, enjoy nature, and also feel connected to Jamaican culture. If I had to suggest one improvement, it would be to add more shaded seating areas and maybe a few more water fountains—it gets really hot during the day! But overall, my experience was excellent. I’d definitely recommend Emancipation Park to anyone visiting Kingston. Whether you want to exercise, relax, or just take in some culture, this park has it all.
Nicholas D — Google review
Well kept lawn/garden, very clean with lots of mature trees to keep you cool if you decide to relax under one of the many trees. It would be better if there were multiple entries as for those with mobility limitation it's challenging to walk around the park after parking to gain entry. This needs to be changed to accommodate everyone.
Empressfaithful — Google review
Truly incredible to see in person! Disappointed in who they chose to place as the first two statues, lessening the impact of the memorial. The park itself is gorgeous! Aesthetically pleasing, with plenty of room to sit, run, play, and eat. The staff does a great job of keeping everything beautiful and clean. Please support the vendors outside of the park; and the restaurant across the street, Sweetwood Jerk, is amazing!
Shani S — Google review
I recently stopped at Emancipation Park on Labour Day and absolutely loved this small yet relaxing space! A sound-check crew was busy preparing for a gospel concert later that evening, which added to the park’s lively atmosphere. The park is beautifully maintained, with a lovely balance of trees, flowers, and shrubs, enhancing its natural charm. One main point of interest that caught my attention was the breezeway, where I admired the seven National Heroes: Nanny of the Maroons, Paul Bogle, George William Gordon, Samuel Sharpe, Marcus Garvey, Alexander Bustamante, and Norman Manley. Each head monument has an engraved introduction that provides insight into their significant contributions. At the end of the breezeway stands the iconic themed “Tribute to Freedom,” featuring a pair of impressive 11-foot bronze statues titled “Redemption Song.” They depict a Black man and woman gazing towards the sky, located at the south-eastern entrance of the park. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit and would wholeheartedly encourage anyone, whether visiting or local, to stop by this iconic park. It’s a wonderful opportunity to appreciate and learn about a piece of Jamaica’s rich history!

The Trench Town Culture Yard Museum, located in Kingston, Jamaica, offers tours of the former tenement yard where Bob Marley and other reggae artists once lived. This community museum provides a vivid portrayal of life in Trench Town during its early years and symbolizes the city's rich musical heritage as the birthplace of reggae music.
A real must visit if in Kingston. Second time I visited the culture yard museum, as delightful as the first. Great guide Blackie who took us around both times, now and six years ago! Really interesting and great vibes about the place.
Peter L — Google review
Right, this one was very interesting. The culture yard is literally 5 rooms and a yard. The entrance fee is 20$ US and we didn't get a receipt. There is a guide there who will tell you the story of how reggae music began in Jamaica and how Bob Marley made it popular all over the world. If you are into this stuff you will find it very interesting. BUT, the guide himself is a 'museum' as he is a very weird person and I marveled at him more than I marveled at the empty rooms in the museum. I am almost certain he was stoned and he gave me the feeling that we are not welcomed there. 🤦 I went there with two guys, but if I were alone, I would have felt very uncomfortable. The culture yard is located in the middle of the worst neighborhood in Kingston. You go there by car. YOU DO NOT WALK!!! You don't get off to take pictures or anything. You don't go there without a local! If you're into reggae music, I don't recommend it. Spend that money at the Downs river.
Madalina T — Google review
This tour was pure comedy. We did the basic $20 tour. Black & Proud A.K.A. Mr. Johnson is hilarious. He was under the influence while giving our tour. He basically read the signs in the room and threw in an occassional song for entertainment. He invited me to sit on Bob Marley's bed while telling a story of a lady getting pregnant by Bob's ghost. I'm a scary indivual and not once did I feel threatened in this area. I even walked a bit to capture the wall art. While you're here you may as well visit May Pen Cemetary for the elaborate tombstones. The Tivoli Garden side (next to Tivoli High School) is open allowing you to enter and view up close.
Sonya N — Google review
Incredible. I did the full tour and walked through the streets of Trenchtown with my guide. It felt like Guinee, West Africa. The guide told me that every single visitor he gets, whether it be China or Brazil, said it feels just like home. If you know, you know. We are all truly connected, more than you think. I take great pride in knowing how much pride the people of Jamaica have for their people. It was worth every single bit of time and money I spent. Blackie, my tour guide, thank you so much for everything 🙏🏾🥰🌹
Shani S — Google review
A great way to see how it all began for Bob. However, the full guided tour could be too much for some. As it goes into details about other reggae artists that some may not know or fully appreciate all the connections. The museum tour was informing and insightful.
Gareth W — Google review
What a visceral telling of where Bob's lyrics come from. Stone man's presentation of our relationship to the natural world, and the wisdom it gives... fully powerful!
Dana H — Google review
Pretty steep price for a short tour of a small area. The guide was passionate about the tour, though his accent was thick and challenging to understand at times. Only waited a few minutes for the tour. Facilities relatively well maintained, though aged.
Raelene M — Google review
Good to see where Bob came into his own to do "big man thing". Conditions were very basic. They have done a good job preserving the site lots of photos to see. Suggest one goes with a tour guide as the neighborhood is still rough.

The National Gallery of Jamaica, the oldest and largest public art gallery in the Anglophone Caribbean, offers a diverse collection of Jamaican and Caribbean art. The museum features permanent displays from renowned Jamaican artists like Cecil Baugh and Edna Manley, as well as rotating temporary exhibits showcasing local, regional, and international talent. Located on the Kingston waterfront, this cultural hub provides guided tours and programs while also hosting free admission events on the last Sunday of each month.
Art is the measure of a countries social and cultural intelligence. An educational experience that showcases some of Jamaica’s most prolific an artists and the need for successive generations to learn from the past and continue on a rich artistic legacy. Definitely going to visit more regularly, especially with my family.

A must visit if you are downtown Kingston and into the arts and culture of Jamaica. Will be back with my family.

It's a very interesting place to visit. Every Jamaican should at least see this place once, just to see the creations of various Jamaican artists. My only wish is that they should include more works from the rastafarian community as well as recent works from young up and coming artists. But aside from that, this place is great. The entire building is air conditioned and some parts of the floor are carpeted. Also there are seats provided to take a break. It costs only JMD$400 for adults to enter

National Heroes Park in Kingston, Jamaica is a significant site honoring the country's national heroes and serving as a burial ground for many prominent figures, including prime ministers. The park, situated on what was once a popular horse-racing center, features war memorials and funerary monuments. With an oval shape spanning 30 hectares, it was previously a racecourse and venue for historical events.
It was a very beautiful and comely experience walking around the park and reading information about those who had statues to commemorate them
L B — Google review
I hadn't realised that it had so many monuments present, was what I said to myself. I've passed Heroes Circle so many times, and I've never really given it a really good look until recently, when I just randomly stopped to walk through the park. As stated previously, there were several large monuments present. Each monument was built in memory of an important figure in Jamaica's history, namely our national heroes. A few other figures were represented as well, like Hugh Shearer and Micheal Manley. I think some heroes and other figures were said to be buried there as well. The stylish looking plaques each giving you a history of each person featured. I was truly impressed with what I had seen. It was also obvious to me that area, namely the parts with the monuments and plaques, were regularly landscaped. The grass was well cut down, and the environment was clean overall. There was one particular plaque that gave you the history of the park itself and how it came to be. National Heroes Park is definitely impressive. I, for one, was indeed impressed by it.
Jamaica V — Google review
Very Beautiful Scenery however the gov of jamaica can do more to this development of the park.. It has great potentional.. plant more trees over time.. make a good trail park.. like a Emancipation Park
Richie E — Google review
I was expecting more than what I saw... for a place of such significance it should have been well maintained with neatly cut green grass areas and well groomed flowers and esthetic appeal. But it was like a waste land that doesn't have much value place on it.
Richardo G — Google review
For the place where some of Jamaica's most treasured are laid to rest. I was expecting more from National Heroes Park. The park is dry and hot, I was wondering if a well could be dug and used to make a park green and attractive. Some of the plaques are worn need to replaced. Overall the park needs to be refurbished to make it the attraction it deserves to be.

Visiting Heroes Park was a delightful surprise! Located just down the street from Emancipation Park, I couldn’t resist stopping by to explore both. I’m so glad I did! The beautifully manicured lawns and well-maintained grounds immediately caught my eye. I was genuinely touched by the stunning monuments honoring our past leaders who fought for change along with a tall white monument with the cross dedicated to the fallen Soldiers in World War I and II. It’s a heartfelt tribute that truly resonates. While there, I took the time to visit the remains of several notable figures interred at the park, including: • Toots Hibbert • Dennis Brown • Sir Alexander Bustamante • Marcus Garvey • Michael Manley • Norman Manley • George William Gordon • Edna Manley • Donald Sangster • Hugh Shearer • Ranny Williams • Paul Bogle • Samuel Sharpe • Lady Bustamante • Herb McKenley • Louise Bennett-Coverley • Mallica “Kapo” Reynolds • Howard and Ivy Cooke • Edward Seaga • Clement ‘Sir Coxsone’ Dodd As I exited the park, I felt a deep sense of pride and honour to have visited for the first time. I even gave a hand salute to express my appreciation! Heroes Park is a must-visit for anyone looking to learn about Jamaican history while enjoying the lovely botanical landscape.
Izod M — Google review
I love the environment. I am able to not just relax in a peaceful environment but I am afforded the ability to learn more about my heritage and about the Heroes who fought successfully so that I can live the life I now enjoy. I am free to make my own choice and not to under bondage. The Park is a powerful reminder of where we came from, the resilience and wit of our forefathers.

This solemn historic site is a famous tourist spot for knowledgeable visitors because in 1976 the Smile Jamaica mega-concert took place here. Devon House, located in Jamaica, is renowned for its world-class ice cream and offers tours of the restored Great House from the late 1800s. The Holy Trinity Cathedral in Kingston, Jamaica, is a stunning architectural masterpiece that replaced the original church destroyed by an earthquake in 1907. Designed by architect Raymond F. Admiral in the Byzantine Revival style, this cathedral stands as the largest and most beautiful church in Jamaica. Visitors praise its grandeur and beauty, with some noting its historical significance and others appreciating its serene atmosphere for special occasions like weddings or funerals.
I went to St George's College so this was a return to my school's church. It was great to be back there. Still a beautiful property and it felt good to be in a proper Cathedral. It was mother's day and I was happy to have my mother and wife celebrate there.

Nestled at the intersection of Beston Street and Duke Street in Kingston, Jamaica, Gordon House serves as the meeting place for the Jamaican parliament. Constructed in 1960, this building may not boast an extravagant design—featuring a blend of white-washed concrete and red brick—but it holds significant local importance. While general public access is limited, visitors can arrange to observe parliamentary debates held by both the Senate and House of Representatives within its chambers.
The seat of Parliament and Senate. Situated down town in the Kingston. The building was named after a former parliamentarian who was going by the crown for his support of Paul Bogle of thé Morant Bay rebellion. A building and location that have out lived its size and facilities. We need a new and modern Parliament building.

The nation's business, debates, the laws of the land. This is the place you have to pass on Duke Street. - been there sitting and watching its people over the years. I agree whole heartily that the building is 'bursting at it seams' and it is high time for a new place of abode. Gordon House must be placed at the ideal spot where she stands out as a shining star, where those who enter her doors serve with greater dignity and pride. I can't wait for the new home and design to be a reality. Jamaicans let us dream big., bring prominence to light. Let the world be scared of our unearthed potentials. I love sweet Jamaica.

Liberty Hall: The Legacy of Marcus Garvey is a captivating destination that pays homage to the life and contributions of the renowned Black nationalist leader, Marcus Garvey. Nestled at the end of a picturesque tree-lined courtyard adorned with vibrant mosaics and an inspiring mural, this historical site was once the headquarters for Garvey's United Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) during the 1930s.
Having been to the Park of the National Heroes required a deeper look into history. It is quite small, but the museum has a collection of private things that belonged to Garvey. Interactive monitors let you form in depth, unfortunately I arrived a bit late so I did not have time for everything. The ticket found its place in my Bible without me looking, between 2 Samuel 16: 6 and 2 Samuel 17:28. A Black Prophet he is for sure! Thank you.

Very important historical centre for Jamaica. This was the headquarters of the United Negro Improvement Association (UNIA) led by the Rt Honourable Marcus Garvey in the 1920s. The property was acquired by the Jamaican government and it is now a museum and cultural centre to further the philosophy of Marcus Garvey. It is a place to visit for educational groups and researchers. The hall features a modern museum dedicated to the work and times of Marcus Garvey.

Horrible!! I went to go look for my grand parents and great grandparents and all i could find is broken graves with epitaphs and statues missing, homeless people sleeping on graves and bush covering graves everywhere. You could be walking on graves and you wouldn't know! I couldnt anyone and for all I know their graves could be broken or stolen aswell! Disgusting!

Most of my visits to this beautiful church have been for funerals, solemn occasions which allow one to observe and to reflect on it's awesomeness. It's definitely worth a visit just to take it all in and to view the stain glass windows also.

An historic building that caught mine eyes from a youngster. I was honored to yield the call to get a little bit closer, so I decided to take a walk armed with my camera. Yes! I entered the Church Grounds and behold there were the mammoth bells that I am told will be chiming again very soon. I got a peak on the inside and I saw history unfolding. My eyes fixed on where historians sat to worship, and enjoy the melodious sounds of the organ. I saw special names on plaques erected in memories of those who contributed to some aspects of this unique building - built to last for centuries. This site must become part of the renovation program to protect and preserve the history of the Nation.

I visited the Saint Andrew Parish church on Sunday December 5, 2021. I particularly enjoyed the architecture and the sermon. The rector reminded us that our self worth should only be tied to God's love for us and nothing else like our environmental circumstances or our job. The property is expansive and there many great views for picture taking after church. The parking is adequate also.

Went in this church for the 1st time recently to a funeral. Architectural design is uniquely Anglican, as expected...reminds me of churches seen in one of those medieval movies. Sound delivery at the back needs addressing. Peaceful and tranquil environment

One of the oldest Anglican church still around. They have services to attract both mature and young persons. The main service is held on sundays in the morning. They have bible study on mondays which is usually enriching. They also have missions and they are well involved in the inner city communities. Do visit them on a Sunday morning.

The Peter Tosh Museum, located at the Pulse Centre in Kingston, is a vibrant tribute to the iconic reggae musician. It showcases an array of his personal belongings such as guitars, original hand-written lyrics, and even his famous unicycle. The museum not only celebrates Tosh's musical legacy but also highlights his advocacy for equality and justice. Visitors can immerse themselves in a documentary about his life while surrounded by fascinating memorabilia.
I Highly recommend this museum, to visit. The information is phenomenal. If you love reggae & Bob Marley, you will love this. The security guard/tour guide is so passionate about Peter Tosh and full of addictional knowledge & information. Please visit and bring life back to Peter Tosh legacy. Pictures are not allowed in the museum.

Loved it, the knowledge of the guide was on point, entry price good still. Great museum to visit & support before or after the Bob Marley Museum.

An up and coming museum on the great Peter Tosh. A self-guided tour. It’s small with a few rooms. It’s mostly reading a lot of artifacts. Not kid kid-friendly as there are not really any interactive things to do to engage a child’s interest . There was only one 25 min video on Peter Tosh which included mostly interviews from others about him. There are plans to renovate and add new media. The price is reasonable. No pictures allowed due to copyright laws.
Westmore S — Google review
An interesting few artefacts from Peter Tosh’s life but very poor value for money (2500 JMD/20 USD) for a self guided tour of two small rooms. Were watched by a security guard (who spent most of our 20 mins there on his phone), which felt quite uncomfortable. Such a pity particularly given how well Bob Marley House is run and such a contrast to other museums (such National Gallery, which is 400 JMD and provides great value for money with a lot on the art and history of Jamaica).
Rox D — Google review
An amazing place with amazing memorabilia. A must-see for any reggae legend museum tourist. They have the original M16 guitar and Peter Tosh's unicycle on display. They have a wonderful documentary playing in the background and amazin memorabilia everywhere the eye can see. I wonder if I walk down memory lane. Do not miss this national treasure and attraction while you're in Kingston, Jamaica. BigUp! Yourself & BigUp! Jamaica!

Nice little museum, price was negotiable. There are not too many visitors, so the staff will tell you a lot about Peter's history individually. Sadly no pictures allowed, but this was the same in every museum I've been in Kingston. A so it goes...
Rainer U — Google review
A disgrace to Peter's memory, smaller than a medium size office. Welcomed by a grumpy man who told us not to take any photos. Good luck promoting this museum (not) to the world. There are some pictures and info panels, next to the gun and torturing devices used to beat Peter up. I guess the director of this place is a former Police officer. Such a great artist who inspired me for more than 40 years now deserves much better than this scam of a so called museum.

Built in 1911, this attractive white building stands as a testimony to the Jewish community's resilience and perseverance. While usually locked, visitors can arrange private tours for groups of 5 to 20 people by calling ahead.

I have not been to this temple, but I will be visiting Jamaica after 36 years and I would love to visit this spiritual and historical place. What a testimony to victory over adversity and the ability of the Jewish people to take their light and hope where ever they go. Hopefully with a new rabbi there will be a beautiful revival in that hallowed space. Why not Jamaica has 2 million people and many are more connected to the Jewish people than they know. With a Christian majority there was a famous one called Jesus.. Take care Rabbi and keep doing what you do!!

It's an ideal spot to relax away from the city's hustle and bustle, where only the gentle sounds of waves and breezes accompany your thoughts. With ample parking available, it's easy to access this tranquil haven.

Atikur R — Google review
It's nice to go and see the sea and the fishermen, but there isn't much shaded seating; almost all benches are helplessly exposed to the Jamaican sun. Any seating that does have shade is dilapidated and in need of repair or replacement. The area is also not cleanly kept, unfortunately, but this is a nationwide problem not unique to Waterfront. I think much greater thought could be placed in the design and beautification of the area as well. For a leisurely place so accessible for many people working in the area, it's often left disproportionately unadmired.

The Institute of Jamaica, located in Downtown Kingston, is a cultural complex that houses various museums showcasing the country's rich heritage. Visitors can explore the Jamaica Music Museum, which pays homage to the island's musical legacy encompassing reggae and dancehall. The Natural History Museum offers insights into Jamaica's diverse plant and animal life, including endemic species. Additionally, guests can learn about the origins and first inhabitants of Jamaica at an exhibition dedicated to the Taino people.
My experience at the IOJ was quite enlightening. I enjoyed the tour especially having gotten the chance to see the artifacts on display (the model of Jamaica). I plan on revisiting soon, and though the tour was cut short due to the time and distance to get back home, it was very intriguing to see samples of a few indigenous species being preserved to educate our future generations on what was when the time comes.

I'm highly disappointed at this museum, I brought my family here to educate them on the history of Jamaica and was hit with ridiculous prices just to enter. No where else in the world I had to pay an international price, locals got in for $100's while my family and I were charged $1500's. It's sad that even when trying to educate ourselves we are still taking advantage of ourselves. I based my whole family vacation on celebrating our Jamaican culture and was swindled by this place.

Breathtaking experience learning about Jamaican and Caribbean history. Tour took about 1.5 hours and they are still adding new sections and exhibits. I had a few misconceptions cleared up and appreciated the team for their professionalism and courteousness. New exhibits are being added so will have to return to see the new stuff. Parking may be a bit tricky but security is present to provide assistance in that regard.

Had a really disappointing tour of the National Museum in which the tour guide seemed to not know much about the exhibitions or Jamaican history. She also gave contradictory information about different displays. I think she was not the official tour guide but I wish she communicated this because we would have been fine walking around by ourselves reading. Also thought the displays could be better as we went from the Taino to Africa then to Port Royal and then a random miss mash exhibition. Where was anything about the Spanish colonial period, the English colonial period and independence? The museum could really be invested in and promoted as a place folks can learn about Jamaican history

The National Museum Jamaica is a renovated and carefully curated exhibition center that showcases the ethnographic history and modern-day life of Jamaica. Through the display of various period objects, visitors are taken on a journey that explores western Jamaica's history from the Cohaba ceremonies of the Taino people, to Spanish colonization, followed by English rule, trans-Atlantic slave trade, Maroon rebellions, emancipation and finally the development of Montego Bay as a tourist destination.

And it was awesome, first of all the security guy welcome us really nicely, then the lady who showed us the first part was so lovely and knowledged she will explain everything legend and history of Jamaica and she is used to talk to kids as well which can be nice if you have younger one. Then there were 2 others expo on that day ( various collection of historical found objects in Jamaica from anywhere in the the world+ Port Royal earthquake) and she took the time to explain everything, really interesting. Then last expo was about biological plants and animals in Jamaica with an other lovely and knowledged lady. I recommend 200%, we really didn't expect to enjoy it that much !!

Nestled at the east end of Ocean Boulevard, this library may be modest in size, but it boasts an impressive collection that includes books on Jamaican history, national heroes, and significant historical buildings. The dedicated staff at NLJ are not only knowledgeable but also incredibly helpful; they provide clear guidance on various inquiries and assist with processes like book deposits.
I making my legal book deposit, I found the NLJ staff knowledgeable, helpful, and cordial in offering very professional service. I was a pleasurable experience interacting with agency.

My interactions with staff were pleasant ones, namely Ms. Terri Anderson, Mrs. Monique Forgie Scott as well as Ms. Keisha Myers. I received concise information each time I reached out with questions. I was given my set of ISBN numbers and was assisted, by receiving proper information as to how to use them correctly. I was sent forms and was assisted in filling them out as it pertained to depositing my 2 copies of my first book. I was also informed when the library was going to host their Legal Deposit Event and was invited to attend. I have now written my second book, and I will definitely be depositing 2 copies of those as well. I have recently reached out and spoke to a Mr. Hugh Bowman as to when they will be having their second Legal Deposit Event. I must say his service was also outstanding. Thank you, guys, exceptional services rendered.

Just like the museum, a couple of doors down this library charged ridiculous fees just to enter or get help just trying to educate children. I traveled to Jamaica to show my children where their heritage comes from and was hit with ridiculous prices just to enter. I planned this whole vacation around the art district downtown Kingston, teaching my children jamaican history and was turned off by the terrible hospitality and the swindling of entrance fees.

The staff was courteous, well informed, patient and responded with respect even when I came across as being confused and archaic.

Visited the library over 2 years ago. In search of information on indentured labourers. The staff were polite and friendly. The information was not available but I still had a positive experience. As a disabled visitor from the UK I did find the stairs difficult.

The Nation's Library. Oh how I wish the government would give them a bigger building something that mimics that of the British Library or the Library of Congress. Something that shows off national pride. The Staff at NLJ are creative, knowledgeable and customer focused. They use technology proprietary and open source to meet the needs of their users. The Library, however, outgrew the building and the systems that are needed to protect the collection of the NLJ is lacking. God forbid a fire should break out. The staff has and can do all they can. I am wishing to see a better building and greater investment in the a library

This special locus I will call the Information Center loaded with treasures of irreplaceable collections. It is Jamaica's premier library charged with fostering and promoting the nation's knowledge of its history. This is the place that will assist you in research and discovering the nation's heritage.

The "Disciples of Christ in Jamaica" joined on 13 December 1992, at which time the current name was United Church was adopted. It is understood that the church was build after the 1907 Earthquake which hit Kingston Jamaica then. St. Andrew Scots Kirk has had is many talented folks for that congregation involved in the performing arts one such person is that of the great renowned Composer, Conductor, Author, Concert Pianist and Music Educator Lloyd Winston Stephenson Hall, CD, JP. Many Cantata's have been held within that Church building which have brought a wide cross section of Jamaicans to come and be entertained many a lovely Sunday afternoon. The Church membership see people who live in the heart of Downtown Kingston especially Duke Street where the church is located and also those from uptown and Portmore St. Catherine. Back in the old days on a Sunday morning the was filled to capacity with person of varying ages giving God thanks and praise. In recent times the congregation has some what been reduced due to urban rural migration and also other who have migrated to foreign lands based on the need to study overseas and having a chance of a better life. St. Andrew Scots Kirk has stood through the test of time in Jamaica's history and have seen many ministers leaving seminary school and being assigned there to minister to the congregation wholeheartedly enabling many to have a close relationship and understand of and with Christ. Whenever you are in Kingston and looking for a Church to worship at do take the time to worship at St. Andrew Scots Kirk where they service begins at 10:00 am every Sunday. Ideal Repository of knowledge regards the birth of the ' Business Of REGGAE Music 🎶 '... lot of this history is still undocumented and still heavily dependent on the Oral Communication from living recognized and unrecognized Icons... Such as the Legendary ' Big Youth', ' Leggo Beast ', and, Stranger Cole... including Tom Sawyer - who still maintains a presence. Younger Cultural Icons will include personalities such as Bravo and Perry from Small World Studio, Queue from Leggo studio, Addis Pablo (Melodica), Mitchy from Rockers Intl. Record shop ( arguable oldest vinyl selling), Warrior, and , Ras. Kelly Holt (REGGAE Artistes)
