Parque de Bombas is a historic structure in Ponce, Puerto Rico, which was the island's first firehouse and later transformed into a museum in 1990. Located in the downtown area, it is part of the main hub of activity and surrounded by popular tourist destinations such as Plaza Las Delicias and Catedral Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe.
Fun place to visit with family. It’s a good history lesson but also there are places to get authentic frituras, ice cream, drinks, quenepas etc. There is also a big souvenir shop across the street. The plaza is shaded and lots of benches to sit and relax.

BOMBAS PARK MUSEUM This historic former fire station is located in the charming town square, Plaza las Delicias, in the city of San Juan, directly behind the town's cathedral. This former fire station is famous for its history and has long been recognized for its historical and architectural role in Puerto Rican society. It is one of the most photographed places on the island of Puerto Rico.

Beautiful, well kept plaza in the heart of one of the most historic towns of the island. The area is super clean. Lots of stores to visit for souvenirs, but our favorite is Utopia. The workers are very friendly and welcoming. The area has many restaurants also and a beautiful water fountain fur pictures and admire while having a delicious Piragua. They also have an amazing vegan ice cream parlor.
Marco P — Google review
Amazing place to see in the town of Ponce, it’s free. Great for pictures also right outside there was piraguas which were great since it was so hot.

Museo Castillo Serrallés is a museum housed in a 1930s-era palace surrounded by picturesque landscaping. The building, designed in the Spanish Renaissance style, offers a glimpse into local history. It was once the mansion of a sugar baron and now showcases the city's rich past. Visitors can explore exhibits on Puerto Rican music evolution and its influences from pre-Columbian times to today.
Did the tour here and it was incredible! The staff were so nice and super knowledgeable. The views were incredible! The tour starts off with a drink that is absolutely incredible then you learn the process of how rum is mad and end the tour with making your own drinks. Definitely recommend this experience!
Tanya R — Google review
A quick yet incredibly informative tour! Castillo Serrallés is absolutely stunning—perched on a hill in Ponce, this historic mansion was once home to the family behind the famous Don Q rum. Every corner of the house is rich with history you can truly feel. A beautiful and inspiring experience!
Marie V — Google review
You'd think as a former local, I would've been here a long time ago! I thought it was just hype, but the place is actually very nice and I learned a lot from it! Be aware there's not a lot of "official" parking space. We parked on the side of the road near the ticket office. One ticket also gives you access to la Cruzeta de Vigia and el Jardín Japonés (I highly suggest you do all three, you won't regret it!). The first thing I noticed is the abundance of bathrooms! They are everywhere which is so nice! None of the parks are wheelchair accessible. You can't take photos of the inside of the Museo de Serrallés, but you can take photos everywhere else. The inside of the castle is tour-guided ONLY and our tour guide, Paola, was amazing with how quick and efficient her English/Spanish translation was. She'd put me to shame any day of the week! Truly impressed. The inside is GORGEOUS, by the way! Once the tour is done, you can wander the premises as much as you'd like. I got a Don Q spiked Piña Colado and we walked the beautiful gardens and aviary that had some VERY noisy macaws! Afterwards, we walked uphill to la Cruzeta de Vigia (must see, but be aware of a lot of steps) and then the Jardín Japonés. I really enjoyed the entire visit.
Ryder M — Google review
Reserved the first tour of the day on a rainy November day. Put a damper on checking out the outside gardens and the Jardines Japones. Still a great time. Worth the while and the price. Such a fascinating place. One thing that was a bit annoying is that they wouldn't let us takes pictures except in designated areas. No idea if that was just our tour or standard practice. I did sneak a few pics outside the designated areas though. And also got a good number before they told me no pics. Absolutely worth coming here. And on a sunny day even better. I parked and saw multiple others park on both sides of street just beyond the Castillo.
Jimmer W — Google review
Awesome to learn about the history of Puerto Rico, explore the museum and sample the various products produced in the property in times gone by. Beautiful views of Ponce & the Caribbean Sea.
Racquel G — Google review
The tour i experienced did not include the alcohol tasting. There are several option for tickets. The option I chose was a tour of the house, Cruzeta, and the Jardín Japonés. There are a lot of stairs throughout the house and anyone that has difficulty with stairs is able to take an elevator in the home. You start off with a video with the history of the brand, the town of Ponce, and the house. Then the actual tour of the house starts. You are only allowed to take pictures in certain areas inside the house. Once the tour is over you can wonder the outside of the property and take beautiful scenic pictures. There is also a bird pavilion on the property which you can visit as well.
Ru S — Google review
Great little visit. The tour was fun and informative. Exploring the property after the tour was great. Drinks were pretty great as well!

Located in the heart of the city, Museo de Arte de Ponce is a prominent destination for art enthusiasts. Boasting an extensive collection of over 4,500 pieces, including paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, and more from Europe, Latin America, and Puerto Rico spanning from the 14th to the 20th century. The museum also features a notable assortment of 19th-century European art. Visitors can explore this renowned institution through guided tours offered daily except Tuesdays.
It's not the full museum experience you would expect but they have a couple of puertorrican paintings up for exhibition. I thought it was nice and loved the works they had on display!
Tania S — Google review
I haven't been here in years due to it being closed. Now only open on Fridays, and they are still renovating the first floor. There are 70 pieces from the museum in Dallas, Texas. I'll need to make a trip soon.
Gladys C — Google review
The museum is partially closed due to damage from the earthquake two years ago. They have a small exhibit of artworks that were very beautiful and interesting. Our tour guide was very thorough and informed. I would love to visit when the entire museum is open again.

Definitely a few hours is not enough to enjoy this museum! It is gorgeous!!! From the architecture of the building itself to the art inside! The souvenir shop is slightly expensive but don't miss it!!!! I would recomend you to call prior so you can get a tour guide. Also: if you're a student with a valid ID you get a discount! If you're going to Ponce don't miss the museum!!! P.S all the paintings, particularly scenery ones look way better live!

A real gem for art lovers. European masters and Puerto Rican artists prominently featured. From the front desk representatives to the tour guides, guards and gift shop staff you will encounter pure professionalism and pride in their beautiful museum. Definitely worth the trip from San Juan.
Giselle L — Google review
We arrived an hour before closing, but as it was going to be our obl chance to see the collection we bought tickets to see the permanent collection only. I guess you can buy a more expensive ticket to see visiting exhibits. We spent the majority of the hour viewing only one small section of the collection. With 10 minutes left we went upstairs to be informed there was another ENTIRE floor of art work. Most of the second floor was older religious related works. Which were amazing, as I raced around and saw them... When we return to PR we will set an entire day to visit.
John B — Google review
One of the best experience related to art. You can see some of the best Puerto Rican art with a tuch of peace and quite. They have special section every now and then you need to pay for that part of the museum extra. In my opinion its worth the money because they have usually intresting activities related to that art section.

Plaza Las Delicias is the heart of downtown Ponce, offering a vibrant mix of historical and modern attractions. The plaza is surrounded by notable landmarks such as the Lions Fountain, Parque de Bombas museum, and the iconic Ponce Cathedral with its twin bell towers. The Old Ponce Fire Station, located behind the cathedral, adds to the area's charm with its Moorish-influenced Gothic architecture. Visitors can explore this bustling area filled with hotels, shops, restaurants, and cafes.
The Central Plaza for the City of Ponce. Each city/town in Puerto Rico has its own plaza and generally there is a Catholic Church, city hall, and business which are nearby. This plaza hold the historic Parque de Bombas, the Church, City Hall and various businesses. As you stroll the plaza they also have a huge fountain and various statues of important iconic people in Puerto Rican history. It is a wonderful community gathering center, often hosting live music and entertainment.

La Guancha, also known as La Guancha Seaside Boardwalk, is a popular Caribbean bayside promenade located in Ponce, Puerto Rico. It offers stunning waterfront views and a family-friendly atmosphere. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely stroll along the boardwalk and explore various dining options provided by local food joints. The adjacent marina allows for pelican-watching and feeding docile fish.
Great place to explore, they are still repairing some part of the little businesses that the storm damaged but it has some food trucks and restaurant

Tho they are remodeling the area due to the Earthquake n Hurricane. The place was vibing with food kiosk, and Vendors. Had myself a Strawberry Lemonade and headed to the beach. Beautiful waters and very clean. The only thing was the Restroom they wasn’t that good and barely clean. They should get that done and perfect since the Cruises are starting to Stop there. Good image = good reviews. 8/10

We came to visit where my grandpa was from. And this was a park next to the beach where they had an area you can also feed fish, and lots of little shops and restaurants stalls. Family friendly and was just beautiful
Angelica C — Google review
La Guancha used to be more than just a tourist attraction. Locals sold their handmade wares, singers from the island would come and give impromptu performances, and the tower served as an opportunity to see it all from above while appreciating the ambiance and ocean breeze. Sadly it's all gated up now, evidence of neglect resulting from years of any maintenance effort or "govt" interventions. The experience from someone whose seen it in its glory days are akin to seeing a once majestic elephant, and returning to nothing more than bones in a graveyard. Of course if you'rea member of the local Yacht club you can bypass all the disrepair and enjoy the privatized coastline.
Salvatore V — Google review
Cute little beach. Plenty of parking. A nice park. The food carts were starting to open at about 5:30 pm on Friday.

It's a beautiful place however it still hasn't been repaired since Hurricane Maria. The beach is absolutely beautiful 😍
Jacqueline P — Google review
We didn't have a lot of time here and would have liked to check out the different vendors, but we did have a great time feeding the fish and the pelicans. You can buy a bag of sardines for $1. My 10 year old daughter loved it (so did I😀)!
A G — Google review
Came here on a Monday, and pretty much everything was closed. We read another review that said you can buy food to feed the birds and the large fish, so we did that. There were other people feeding the animals, but pretty much the entire pier and beach area was empty. Most of the shops were closed except 1 that had food and people eating. Seems like it would be better when the other places are open if they ever are. The Beach is pretty, but you can't swim in it since it is shallow and has a lot of rocks.

Island
Nature & Parks
Isla Caja De Muertos, also known as Coffin Island, is a small uninhabited paradise off the coast of Ponce. Accessible by boat or kayak, this protected wilderness area boasts clear-water beaches and hiking trails. The island's distinct coffin-like shape adds an air of intrigue to its allure. Visitors can enjoy a day trip exploring crystal waters and rocky terrain before unwinding on the beautiful white sand beach called Playa Pelicano, recipient of the prestigious Blue Flag award.
I grew up in PR. I’m ashamed to say I never visited this island until Last October. This island has one of the best beaches of PR. I’ve snorkeled all over Hawaii. The turquoise waters of this island are comparable to some of the beaches in Maui, Hawaii. I saw under the dock the bigger at boxer fix ever!!!! It was enormous. The eyes were bigger than the size of a cow’s eye!!! Getting to caja de muerto: Call island ventures They usually only make 1 trip per day — departing from La Guancha Marina at 8:30am sharp and departing from the island at 3:30pm. The boat trip takes 30 minutes. They no longer allow you to bring beach chairs, umbrellas or coolers on the boat, but they have chairs, umbrellas, kayaks and SUP’s for rent now also. And food/drinks are included in the trip. The crew was great. I was amazed to see cactuses were as high as some of the cactuses I saw in Tucson, Az. There’s a good hike to the light house. Bring comfortable tennis shoes. The hike can get steep in some areas. Caja de Muertos is one of Puerto Rico’s Nature Reserves, a municipality of Ponce. The island is a wonderful destination for beach and nature lovers seeking to experience the pleasures of an uninhabited island free of development. The island was voted as as one of the “The Ten Enchanting Natural Attractions of Puerto Rico I regret I didn’t make an effort to visit it before. It’s only 8 miles from the mainland. I only paid $60 to get ther by ferry and included food. This is a must see destination.
Myriam H — Google review
Absolutely gorgeous but the structures are falling apart due to frequent earthquakes and hurricanes. Do to this there’s, currently, no tours to the island.
Suaih M — Google review
This is a very nice Island off the coast of the main land. This is one of many small islands close to Puerto Rico. This one is by Ponce. You can catch a ferry/Catamaran/boat ride from La Guancha Marina in Ponce. This should be a must visit location, in my opinion. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. If your ok with a walk to see a breath taking view, then please take the hike to the abandon Light House/El Faro. It's about 1/2 hour walk to get there and 1/2 hour back. Please do go early in the day and with proper foot wear, no flip flops/slippers. Take a water bottle and a small wet towel because on hot days, you'll need it. Also try wearing a hat, it helps out somewhat. Don't forget your phone or camera to take pictures and selfies.
Jose L — Google review
Beautiful Island to have an amazing day at the beach. You have to bring your food and drinks. No bathroom available.
Yesenia P — Google review
Not that much to do here but relax and enjoy yourself. Southern Puerto Rico is special ✨. I swam almost the length of the island. The off shore currents weren't a problem the day I was there and there were only a few other boats to be seen passing by. The conditions did seem harsh, in a beautiful to look at natural way, and there was one nice sandy beach. Hiking the middle of the island is prohibited by the government after earthquake damage. I thoroughly enjoyed the boat tour I took there with Island Ventures; everyone was so friendly. After my captain became concerned with my open water swimming; I was offered a ride in the tender by the Captain of the Pina Records yacht. I was insulted and declined, but next time I will gladly take the ride if I can go on the yacht 😂.
Christina L — Google review
Gorgeous small island in near virginal state. However, the poorly maintained visitor's center was further destroyed by hurricane María. You will be on your own. Bring anything that you may need...water, food, SHADE!

My first time to PR. The hubby is from Ponce so of course he took me out here. Even though we came after all the hurricanes and the earthquake and it was in a way deserted because it didn't look anything like what everyone has posted. We still had an awesome time. The water was so beautiful it was so peaceful. There was maybe one other boat that came out but for the most part we were the only ones. I was totally in love with it.

Visitors can immerse themselves in the wisdom of the Taino people through oral traditions passed down by their descendants.
Very interesting exhibitation. Had a lot of artifacts from the different cultures and tribes. The stones were really interesting and had many different formations and petroglyphs. I enjoyed it.

The drive up to the site was breathtaking! Loved seeing the museum and learning a bit about the history before going to see the ball courts and hieroglyphics. I also met An archeologist who explained that the tribe would travel by the stars at night in their canoes from the coast— even under ground in some places. So I explored that site next at Reserva Natural Cueva del Indio the next day (see the beach pics!)

Loved this place! They offer a free tour and explain so much history, I would definitely go back. As I walked through, listening to the stories, I could almost envision what it was like living during those times. It’s a really nice and relaxing place. This is such a beautiful church from the 1800. Just like most of the towns in PR, they have a town park, also known in Spanish as La Plaza. Around this area, most likely, you will find the main church, as in this case. Christians/Catholics has been a major part of the belief for most Puerto Ricans. They still have their church services. They do wedding services, baby dedication, and funeral services. You can always Google to learn more facts about this church. Plus, Google Maps will show you a few other locations that are worth making a stop at. Like King Cream Ice cream 🍦also Parque de Bomba/Fire House.

Teatro La Perla is a prominent cultural attraction in Ponce, Puerto Rico. This neoclassical-style theater, built in 1864 and designed by Juan Bertoli, reflects the city's economic prosperity during the mid-19th century. Although it was destroyed by an earthquake in 1918, it was faithfully reconstructed according to the original plans and reopened to the public in 1941.
an historic theater inaugurated in 1864, it is the second oldest theater of its kind in the island, but the largest and most historic in the Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Named La Perla in honor of the Virgin of Montserrat, it was designed by Juan Bertoli Calderoni, a Ponceño of Italian heritage, and it bears a neoclassical structure with an impressive six column entrance.

This place used to be pretty when I was a kid, now it's barely recognizable. The marble stairs are all cracked up and there's trash in the steps, really dissapointing to see this place like this. Somebody needs to take care of the marble stairs because this looks like an abandoned building...

The Armstrong-Poventud Residence, a Ponce Creole–style home built in 1899, has been transformed into a museum showcasing original furniture. This historic house offers a fascinating glimpse into the elite culture of Ponce during the late 19th century. Once owned by a wealthy baker who founded the Bank of Ponce, it reflects the unique lifestyle of the city's affluent residents at that time.

This district in Ponce is rich in history. Park and walk. Parking is free, entrance is free. There are no public bathrooms. There was a line when we went, due to covid only 6 people allowed at one time but the entire thing is open so you can see everything from the outside

Awesome place to visit. Probably one of the most beautiful houses I've had the priviledge to see on the island. It really gives an interesting look on the unique culture of Ponce. The owner of the house was a wealthy baker who founded the Bank of Ponce, and by seeing his house you can get an interesting peek at the life of the Ponce elite of the time. How this culture, composed of entrepreneurial immigrants from Europe, built a distinct culture and city that forms an integral part of PR history. Seeing the house reminds you of the culture and values of these people (both good and bad), and reminds us of our complex heritage. Gave it 4 stars because the second floor hardly has furnishing, so its less interesting. Still worth visiting, though! Tour guide was nice and well informed, and the house has a pretty nice bookshop with Puerto Rican books that are honestly pretty hard to find, so that was a nice surprise. Please go visit, especially if you are from Ponce!

This was the single best place we visited in Ponce. Everything else was closed down (don't come to the city on Monday or Tuesday) or not in operation due to the recent trifecta of hurricane/earthquake/covid, but this place had the curator (Ron?) waiting to welcome us with a smile at the front door. He walked us through the small but thorough museum and explained the city's past and present. He spoke English very well. All of it is free. What a treat! We were grateful for his time and generosity, our time in Ponce was greatly bettered by this visit.

Plaza del Caribe in Ponce, Puerto Rico is the largest mall in the southern region of the island. It boasts a variety of popular department stores like JCPenney, Macys, and Sears, as well as numerous specialty shops and a food court. The mall's distinctive architecture and scattered works of art add to its charm. Visitors appreciate its manageable size and diverse selection of stores, including independent vendors offering unique handmade items.
Plaza del Caribe is one of the nicest malls I've visited! It's clean, well-maintained, and offers a variety of stores for every shopping need. The food court is a highlight, with plenty of options to satisfy any craving. The mall spans two levels, and it's easy to navigate with both escalators and elevators available. During holidays, they host fun activities, adding extra excitement to the shopping experience. The only downside is the parking – it can be challenging to find a spot as the parking areas are usually full. Overall, though, it's a fantastic place to visit!

The Museo de la Música Puertorriqueña, built in 1934 with a stunning Spanish Renaissance architectural design, is located on Calle Isabel. The exhibition halls of this neoclassical and art nouveau building depict the evolution of Puerto Rican music from pre-Columbian times to the present day, showcasing the influence of Taino Indians, Spanish conquistadors, and African slaves. Visitors can explore the rich cultural heritage through various exhibits.
Visiting for first time and love learning new culture. Came here after being recommended from another museum that was temporarily closed for remodel and adjusting their exhibits. Very happy to have came here! With no charge (but donations accepted), me and husband enjoyed our great tour guide! He was very knowledgeable and very well spoken and made the tour well worth the trip. Asked questions about us and very charismatic. Would definitely go again if/when I come back with family.

Anibal is the best host: curator historian. Museo de la Música is a great space to learn about all the influences of the puertorrican music. A must if you visit Ponce, even better that is open Saturdays and Sundays. Structure needs a lot of restoration, something that the municipality should take care of. Where are the asambleístas and legisladores??
Liz V — Google review
This gem of a museum is packed with interesting instruments and exhibits, but the best part is the docent. We left with a more complete understanding of the Puerto Rican music influences and heritage than of any American music genre! Fascinating and comprehensive. Our family (a music teacher, teen musician, and avid listener) loved this museum. Good for middle school and up. Maybe skip for younger kids as the museum is not air conditioned and the tour is about an hour. Anyone else, consider it a must see in Ponce! Also the building itself is quite beautiful.

Great fine dining restaurant! The menu has a good selection and the food is flavorful. The risotto croquettes were our favorite. All the dishes that we ordered were amazing. This place has a beautiful atmosphere, perfect for celebrating special occasions. It was a bit tricky to find the entrance to the restaurant as it is located inside the hotel. You need to enter through the main entrance of the hotel to get here. There is paid parking available in the hotel. During our visit to the annual Ponce Carnival, we stumbled upon Lola’s while strolling down the street. Seeking a respite from the heat, we opted to relax with a refreshing drink and a light snack. It turned out to be a fantastic choice! The food and beverages were simply amazing! We went for the Carne Asada and the Naan Flatbread—calling them delicious doesn’t do them justice. The flavors were incredibly vibrant, and the presentation was stunning. To cool off, we kicked things off with a Moscow Mule. So impressed with that drink, we couldn’t resist trying a Cosmopolitan and an Old Fashioned next—each one was delightful. The bartender, John, showcased remarkable skill and was a joy to chat with. We can’t wait for our next visit to Lola’s!

Looking for a top restaurant in Ponce? Lola Eclectic Cuisine is a must-visit. Drawn by its stellar reviews and diverse menu, I was not disappointed. I tried the peanut butter old fashioned – tasty, though I wished for a bit more in the glass. The appetizers were delightful: the stuffed dates were awesome, combining fresh, salty bacon with a delectable sauce. The naan flatbread was light yet filling, and the croquettes were delicious, though I could have enjoyed one more. For my entrée, I had the salmon. It was slightly overcooked, but the flavors of the taro cake and cilantro-cucumber broth made up for it. Perfect for date night or a solo trip, I highly recommend Lola Eclectic Cuisine in Ponce.

Plaza Luis Muñoz Rivera is a popular city plaza in Ponce, Puerto Rico, known for its shaded walking paths, large fountains, statues, and sculptures. It holds significant historical value with various monuments and landmarks such as the City Hall, Teatro Fox, Banco de Ponce, and the Cathedral flanking its two plazas. The plaza dates back to 1670 and is a well-kept park with benches and municipal concerts held every Sunday evening.
Ponce is my favorite city. Live music on Thursday nights. Plenty of great food near the plaza. Ask the locals where to eat.

A nice, well kept, city plaza with historical statues, a big fountain, and benches. It's well shaded by large trees. They have municipal concerts here every Sunday evening. It feels very safe and clean day or night.

Tha main plaza in the city of Ponce, notable for its fountains ans various monuments. Actually made up of two plazas, Plaza Muñoz Rivera on the north end and Plaza Degetau on the south. Flanked by the City Hall, Teatro Fox, Banco de Ponce and the Cathedral. The history dates back as far as 1670.

A beautiful park in the center of Ponce. Lots of nice restaurants, shops, fountains, and a historic church add to the charm.

Love this place, the history it holds, and many forgotten stories. I was born in Ponce but raised in New York City. I have taken time to learn about my town. I know the history of the firehouse. I know the history of Castillo Serrallés. I know about the Ponce massacre. The Salsa singers who were born here (LaVoz, Cheo Feliciano, El Conde) just a few. One of Puerto Rico most influential people, Pedro Albizu Campos, was also born in this town. Please, if there is an important part of Puerto Rico history that should be known, it's this man mentioned above. Don Pedro 1st Harvard University Boricua to graduate with highest honors, but this valedictorian wasn't allowed to give a speech due to the color of his skin. Talked 7 different languages. USA government poisoned him with radiation. Yet I have done this to learn my past history. I have gone as far as to learn about our Taino ancestors. What they suffered as well. Know your past history because knowledge is power.

I highly recommend visiting the Fundación Rafael Hernández Colón museum for both public visits and scholarly research. It is a captivating place in the historic city of Ponce, where you can find meticulously maintained records and fascinating artifacts from Governor Hernandez's tenure. The staff is welcoming and helpful, providing a beautiful and informative experience. The museum offers an opportunity to appreciate the rich history of this location without focusing on individual experiences.
What a fascinating gem! From the confluence of two buildings (one 1897 neoclassical and the other contemporary modern) to the focus of the foundation (the life and works of former Governor Rafael Hernandez Colon), it was a fascinating visit! The guide, Jorge Plaza, was endlessly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about the work of preserving the memory and artifacts pertaining to Colon, but also to their massive undertaking to digitize tons of print materials - which you can even get to peek at during your visit!

I highly recommend the Foundation for public visits and scholarly research. I spent three days here doing research and plan to go back as soon as possible. The staff is very welcoming and helpful and I even had the opportunity to meet the Foundation's President. Records are meticulously kept and there are many interesting items from Governor Hernandez's tenure. The museum is beautiful and very interesting. Historical landmark
Panteón Nacional Román Baldorioty de Castro is a historical site in Ponce that offers a glimpse into the city's past. Despite some neglect in certain areas, the guides are friendly and knowledgeable, providing informative tours of the cemetery. The place is described as transporting visitors to another time and praised for its historical value. Although it may be challenging to navigate due to debris from Hurricane Maria, it remains a peaceful and historically rich location worth exploring.
Very cool place to visit. Interesting architecture, and a lot of history to learn about. We got a free tour from the guy working the gate that day. He had so many interesting stories about the people buried there In addition to the cemetery, he had a lot to tell us about the history of Ponce and the Island as a whole. Loved our experience there.

One star is a generous rating! I came from United States to visit this museum to investigate some genealogy information about my family. The website said that the museum was open Saturday, 9:00 am-2:00 pm. I traveled one hour from the town that I was staying and when I got to the museum, the gates were locked. I called their phone number, no answer. I went to Parque de Bombas Visitor’s center and they told me that the museum was supposed to be open. They mentioned that there is only one guide and that the person live nearby. I waited until 11:00 am and the museum’s employee did not show up to open the cemetery!!?? If the cemetery is currently not opening on Saturday’s, they need to update their website! Also, open dates/times should be posted outside the front gate of the museum. I wasted my time!!!! Also, the phone should have a recording indicating visiting dates/times. Employee getting paid and not showing to work, or he may be teleworking from his home today! 😜

This was a very beautiful and informative site. Our guide walked through the cemetery with us and gave us the history of the cemetery. Parking was non existent. We parked on the sidewalk. Entry was free, tour guide spoke English, don't be fooled by the neighborhood.. this one is worth it.

The seating arrangements provide excellent views of the games, and the atmosphere is always electric during events. The staff are friendly, and the facilities are clean and well-organized. It’s a top-notch venue for both players and spectators. Highly recommend it for anyone looking to enjoy a basketball game or to host a tournament!

The Don Q Rum Tour takes you to the heart of Ponce, where you can visit the Serralles Castle and learn about the production of Puerto Rico's famous Don Q rum. While the distillery itself doesn't offer tours, a visit to the castle provides insight into the history and process behind this iconic brand. The tour includes a tasting session where you can sample different varieties of rum and even learn how to mix your own cocktails.
So much fun! The tour was excellent and A lot of fun. Very informative. It was so cool to learn about the heritage behind Puerto Rico’s rum!

Amazing tour, did at 10am Sunday, going through the home and learning the history. Aurora was a great tour guide! Amazing view of the city as well.
Orson I — Google review
Wonderful tour and views! So sorry but I forgot the tour guides name. She was exceptional though! Super nice, knowledgeable, funny, and welcoming. She really made history fun. We were greeted with a complimentary piña colada. Yum! We walked through the home, watching videos about the process and staff. We saw different rum bottles through the years and a layout of the whole land. Then were able to taste straight 7 year old rum (way too strong!) and have our own brief master class where we made an old fashioned and piña colada. The premises was free to walk around and take in the views afterward. You can also visit the gift shop. I loved the tour and would recommend!
Kylie N — Google review
Today we had one of the most amazing times at 1:00 pm run tour. our bartender Rena ( I think ) was so cute and so bubbly and knowledgeable about the rum. I could tell she really loves her job and just made the experience so much better. She gave us recommendations. We made a few drinks inside. Talked about the history. I had a better appreciation of the history of Puerto Rico and the love that I have for the Puerto Rican people. This was the icing on the cake on our Puerto Rico trip.

The guide was incredibly kind and informative. He kept it engaging while still having fun. The facility and gardens are incredibly beautiful! The rum is the best!

Our tour guide was knowledge about Don Q Rum and she made it a fun experience. For the cost, I’d pass on this one. We thought it included more about the castle and would show the process, however the making and barrels are at another location. Since we went in October, they were also set up for a Halloween event which made it a bit odd.
Angie N — Google review
This was one of the best tours we’ve ever been on. Rinaisha was so funny and informative and she really made the tour. The house itself is incredible and so is the history. They are also so generous with the drinks and the last part of the tour is such a blast. Definitely visit Ponce, and definitely do this tour! Everyone on staff was so warm and incredible. Make sure you arrive a bit early, and once you reach the location sent in the email, follow the signs.

I was here for about 6 days. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The vast majority of the staff were extremely warm and inviting, the property was beautiful, and the room was clean. I was here long enough to witness all of the available breakfast options. The lack of variety was a disappointment. I visited the bar a few times, and the service was slow every time. This portion of my stay definitely left something to be desired. All in all, it was decent lodging. I would recommend it but I would also mention my experience at the bar. Probably not enough to keep me from coming back, especially since I'm an IHG member. It's convenient for Ponce. Bar service is the only thing that prevented 5 stars.
