Cultural center
The Jaime Sabines Cultural Center is a must-visit in Tuxtla Gutierrez, Chiapas. It's a vibrant hub for art and culture, offering a diverse range of events from art exhibitions to theater performances. The center provides an opportunity to engage with local artists and immerse oneself in the creative pulse of the city. While some visitors have noted that maintenance is needed, it remains a great place to explore and appreciate Chiapas' artistic talents.
It's a good place to learn, find the book you want, do your homework nicely and Franklin corner is there too.

Step into the world of the Museo de la Marimba, a tribute to the iconic instrument of Chiapas. This museum offers an immersive experience where visitors can explore the evolution and construction of the marimba. From a recreational room to a dedicated space honoring virtuoso marimba player Zeferino Nandayapa, there's plenty to discover.
Though the lots of marimba types in display are nice, you should come for the marimba guys! They we're great and gave a little private show, and I even got to try play the marimba myself, at least tried to ;) If you in the area of marimba park you should check it, and even try to be at the park at 6pm for the shows in the park
Shai A — Google review
An interesting collection of marimba instruments from over the years. It shows the importance of the instrument/music over the years. Worth a stop and for 35 Pesos not expensive.

Lots of cool exhibits and information about this great tradition. Highly recommended.

It's open! I'd read online that the museum was closed but happened to pass by and see the door open. My Spanish is limited, but the guided tour was still very informative and I learned so much about how the instrument has evolved and is constructed. At the end, you are treated to a private performance. This was my favorite experience in Tuxtla.

Visitors can enjoy engaging exhibits and informative guides who offer tours in various languages. At the end of the tour, guests are treated to a complimentary coffee tasting, allowing them to savor the flavors of this renowned beverage.
Decided to stop in and kill some time. Was definitely impressed with our guide that was provided. He was definitely passionate about the museum and all the history of the museum. For a small museum we ended up spending 2 hours here, but it was definitely worth it as you receive a complimentary cup of coffee with your purchase.

My husband, a friend and I stumbled across this delightful museum last week while walking around Tuxtla. We had an excellent escorted tour with an informative and enthusiastic guide who spoke very good English. We thoroughly enjoyed this, as well as the samples of local sweets, empanadas, jamaica juice and of course coffee with which we were provided. All of this for 25 pesos each! Highly recommended.
Marianne W — Google review
Loved this place, so much information about coffee and very cool exhibits! You get a free espresso or American coffee at the end of the tour. They also sell all types of coffee.

Interesting museum to know the history of coffee in Mexico especially Chiapas, volunteers from the local university were very friendly and gave a quick tour in perfect English!

Chiapas is a Coffee land and a Museum most reflect it. It's a place with the potential but looks like a sleeping beauty slumbered in downtown. The working hours are administrative which is not very useful for a tourist. The workers are eager to show the place but lack experience. Not the guide. And except the coffee tour the rest was poorly structurate. Needs love and profesionalism.I bought a coffee bag from a local producer but was undrinkable. May be too long time in shelves without proper care. Historic sites like this museum and heritage site like El Glorioso Cristo de Chiapas are places that attract local, national and international tourism. Is good bussiness for all. I expected a wonderful experience with tasting differents kinds of coffee grounds from differents producers and to buy my prefered but was forgetable visit. A good manager can convert this piece of carbon in an diamond of extraordinary beauty and value. Have everything to be.
Wilmer P — Google review
Really interesting, costs 25 pesos and includes a coffee degustation ! Thinking about the fact that a regular coffee costs 20 pesos in general, let’s say it’s basically 5 pesos to get in !

MUCH, the science museum in Chiapas, offers a fantastic environment for families to enjoy. The dinosaur exhibits are exceptionally well-done, featuring lifelike movements and providing great photo opportunities. Knowledgeable guides lead informative tours that beautifully explain the displays. Visitors should come prepared with their own water and perhaps a chocolate bar as there is no on-site store available. The tour lasts approximately one hour in this stunning location.

(Translated by Google) It was our first time visiting this Museum, when we arrived a young man greeted us and explained the areas to us to be able to purchase our package at the box office, they charge $100 ps to visit the rooms and it includes the tour at 🦕, we fell in love with everything that there would be but oh surprise, when we got to the rooms they were not working and certain devices were out of service, we just read and went to the next room, the only good thing was the tour of the 🦕 and Children ages 4 to 7 were required to enter an area where they would have fun within 20 minutes. For what they charge, they should maintain the place, it is very neglected, they need to put a guide in each room since there is no explanation of anything (that the things were not useful), I hope they improve it, they should take advantage of the space. Para lo que cobran deberían de mantener el lugar, se encuentra muy descuidado le falta poner un guía en cada sala ya que no hay explicacion de nada (de que no servían las cosas), ojalá lo mejoren, deberían aprovechar el espacio.

There is a daycare center for children, the bathrooms are clean and spacious, there is a snack donut. The entrance is the same for the dinosaur tour (you can do both activities at the same time). Parking is free and for the dinosaur tour you enter in groups every 20 to 30 minutes with guides. Recommended to visit. (Translated by Google) Honestly, it is a recommended place for the little ones and why not, also adults. The main attraction is undoubtedly the tour of mechanical dinosaurs, there are 15, there are more but they are static, the water fountain is extremely cute and the water is incredible. It also has other rooms where children can learn about types of energy, animals, plants and more, all areas are clean and the price is super affordable. Finally, it has an area for children, where they can play while the adults relax a little, since it has surveillance cameras and a person who supervises.

When I got to the ticket office, the people at the ticket office rudely told me that the fee was $50 pesos. The information on the official website is from the previous administration. They should have updated information on the official website; it's a science and technology museum. They should have everything updated, people don't know. (Original) El museo está muy padre. (Translated by Google) A museum with potential, but neglected. I visited the museum with high expectations, but unfortunately, my experience was average. Although the museum has an interesting collection of art and historical artifacts, the presentation and maintenance of the facilities leave much to be desired. My first impression upon entering the museum was one of neglect; it felt like a horror museum. The lighting was poor, making it difficult to appreciate some of the exhibits. Despite these issues, the museum's collection is interesting because of Chiapas's rich history. There are historical objects, works of art, and cultural artifacts that offer a fascinating insight into the region's history and culture. However, the lack of maintenance and the sloppy presentation of the facilities detract from the visitor experience. This is a shame, because with a little investment and care, this museum could be a truly remarkable place. There were empty display cases; some were in temporary exhibitions, but others were unremarkable. It's worth noting that only two areas are open to the public.

Natural history museum
Museo de Paleontología "Eliseo Palacios Aguilera" is a small yet informative museum showcasing over 200 fossils dating back from 300 million to 10,000 years old. The main hall features a striking Megatherium exhibit, along with a dedicated display of state amber containing preserved insects. The museum's focus on Chiapas' paleontological finds provides valuable insights into the region's prehistoric heritage.
It's a very small museum that shows some of the paleontological discoveries of the county. It's a really quick visit, but regardless, it has some very interesting exhibits. It has a small entry fee, but no queues.

One of the great things of the museum of paleontology is that everything that they have, or speak about, is from Chiapas. This really helps you better understand what there is to discover in Chiapas. There are also remains of a prehistoric horse that I assume must also be related to the prehistoric horse discovered near Hagerman, Idaho USA. We took only about 25 minutes to see what there is to see. We were also told Tuesdays are free...

It's a small paleontology museum. It's good to wake up interest in people. Entrece fee (as of 2021 April) 10 pesos.

(Translated by Google) A small museum but undoubtedly very nice, the cost is $15 per person. The staff is friendly, and even though they have very few rooms, it is very comfortable and quiet, it has some interactive spaces, fossils and a lot of information about amber. Ideal for children and adults.

(Translated by Google) It's small but functional. It's very pretty; everything looks very well maintained and everything is well explained. Occasionally, there are promotions like discounts or free admission. I recommend going to mix it up and not always visit the same places.
