The Santander Historical Museum - Casa de Bolívar is a charming colonial house in Bucaramanga where Simon Bolivar, the South American Liberator, resided for two months in 1828. Now transformed into a museum dedicated to regional history, it houses various historical artifacts such as weapons, paintings, and mummies of the Guane indigenous people who once inhabited the area.

La Casa del Libro Total, located in the heart of Bucaramanga, is a cultural center with a rich history spanning over 200 years. It offers a variety of events such as exhibitions, talks, and recitals throughout the year. The venue provides visitors with an opportunity to immerse themselves in music, poetry, painting, and literature. Additionally, it houses a digital library and serves as a tranquil space for both leisure and work.
We have been to Casa del Libro Total several times during the last week. We saw a short play, an art exhibit, a juggling performance, various multimedia presentations, performances by two wonderful guitarists and a lovely singer/songwriter, listened to a lecture on Antoine St. Exupery and viewed various videos all free. This is a great concept for a small community performing arts center. A permanent exposition center for all of the arts privately funded by a businessman in the City who cares deeply about the availability of venues for serious artists.

Nestled in the heart of Bucaramanga, the Museo de Arte Moderno de Bucaramanga (MAMB) is a vibrant oasis for art lovers. This charming museum, housed in a beautifully preserved colonial building, features an ever-evolving collection of contemporary works from both local and international artists. Visitors can explore thought-provoking paintings and striking sculptures that ignite creativity and challenge perceptions. The museum also boasts a delightful sculpture garden where you can unwind amidst artistic beauty.
I really like this place. I came here about 7 years ago and found it to be interesting and enjoyable. Now I just came back in September 2024 and even though the artwork changed, it was all excellent and I'm so glad that I was able to go again. There's free admission here so be sure to stop by if you are in the area..

This is a really nice little museum. I really enjoyed the garden too, it's a small haven of freshness under the suffocating heat of the city. The paintings were very interesting and as far as I understand the exhibition changes regularly so there's always something new to see and admire.

There is a very nice and old fashioned place. You will find two big rooms , very well illuminated , in which you could watch paintings, drawings and photography. Also, a big patio where some sculptures, video and other performances are shown. These patio connect with a big Garden, plenty of trees, some sculptures and a kiosk for performances; also, there are tables with umbrellas, it's a very relaxing place! Seems like there's a restaurant or a bar, but not in service when I visited this museum.
Hernan R — Google review
It's quite tiny and I really think a museum of this kind for a city the size of Bucaramanga should be roomier or at least better organized. Despite that, I really liked the exposition, the quietness and the places coziness. Maybe a café and events with live music would be the perfect booster combination for this museum.
Alejandro R — Google review
Too small, nobody available from the museum. Took us 7 minutes to walk it all including outside sculptures. Great work from Omar Rayo.

Parque Santander serves as the vibrant heart of Bucaramanga, making it an ideal starting point for any walking tour. This charming main square features a striking statue of Francisco de Paula Santander, a key figure in Colombia's history. Visitors can unwind in the shade while enjoying a cup of 'tinto' and observing local life, from street musicians to shoe shiners.
The park is nice to walk around, there’s streets vendors and restaurants around.

I am a Canadian tourist in Bucaramanga and came to this park thinking this was actually going to be a beautiful, relaxing park in nature. This is not really a park but a square. It is located in a busy part of town. There are a bunch of vendors, all lined up and a few benches. Some of the local workers eat their lunch there. This is not a place to picnic or for kids to play. It’s just a square strip in the middle of the city. I was pretty disappointed. Walked around for two minutes and then left. Not worth the visit in my opinion.

Also there are many benders in the area where you can enjoy their products and get something refreshing.

This place is the main park of Bucaramanga (Santander's capital). Park facilities are well keeping. The site is very safe and you should take a great picture and enjoy the views. Nice and accessible place to walk around. Suggestions: great place to exhibit local art and cultural spaces thru these walking areas at least 2 a month for visitors to learn about this region. It has the spaces to turn it into a walking pedestrian outdoor cultural experience. It would be perfect if the agencies would get together and make it a cultural outdoor experience. Let's see what the future has for something like this here

Centro Comercial Parque Caracolí is a modern mall located in Floridablanca, Santander. It features brick- and wood-lined corridors with a variety of name-brand retailers, as well as spaces for music, shows, and dining. The mall has 153 premises and a unique snail structure that makes it easy to navigate. Visitors can enjoy a diverse selection of food options while watching the sunset.
Nice big mall with a great variety of stores. I was surprised to find a speedo store as well as American eagle. As a North American I felt like I was back home. The mall is busy vibrant and bustling. Malls are dead in the US and Canada but this mall was so packed on a Sunday evening. There is a dollar city on the top floor which is South America’s version of Canadian dollarama. Lots of food options as well. There is a bridge connecting the mall to the Florida mall across. Personally I find this mall much better. I highly recommend, but perhaps go on a Monday afternoon. We can tend to be super busy and I can imagine parking must be a challenge.

Nice place, lots of awesome stores. Restaurant options are a bit limited but the ones they do have are good. It gets really packed, and parking gets complicated when it's busy and elevator are full all the time. It is best to use stairs. Would give it 5 stars but parking and elevator availability sucks.
Yerson M — Google review
This is a modern not to old mall. It has many levels to include a hotel Sonesta. Very nice clean including the restrooms. If you don't like the crowds go during the day. Once night fall comes in it gets crowded. The terrace gets very crowded since all the food courts, restaurants and bars are up there. The theater and gym are also up in this area which makes it crowded. Food is good but no social distancing. The stores all require face masks, they all have hand sanitizer all over the place. Parking garage, taxis outside all the time. A/C is low but comfortable inside. Bank ATMs on different floors Grocery store is in the garage level.

Never tough about a place like this, got amazed with the Biosecurity measures, take your temperature, disinfect your hands and maintain ventilation system, has parking spot at an accessible price, most of the places internally include the same measures. Went to get a couple drinks at one of the restaurants and was ok, not bad at all but that is a story for a different review. Overall this Mall overlaps my expectations.

Very clean and comfortable with plenty of places to sit, relax, and even charge your phone. One of the best malls in Colombia. Prices are high and fake products still abound, buyer beware.

I needed a place to park because of an emergency with my dog, they didn't allowed me to enter their ### parking lot with my dog. I think it's the only shopping center in the area that doesn't allow pets. Never coming back there. Update: I actually came back a couple times after that, only to discover cockroaches on their food court, around the tables... Today I received my dinner from Mercagan with one cockroach in my dish!! Be very careful when you visit that food court!

The fact that it's round makes me feel like a fish in a fish bowl, but the cinema area and the food courts are excellent. There's 2 of them, 1 on the roof but covered, and they sometimes have live music

La Flora Ecological Park, also known as Parque Ecologico La Flora, is a serene sanctuary nestled in the midst of urban and forest areas along the Floridablanca road. This expansive park is often referred to as the lungs of Bucaramanga due to its mature trees and lush vegetation. Visitors can enjoy various activities such as yoga, calisthenics, and reading in this tranquil setting.
For a free entry park, we were surprised how pleasant this park was. It's quite small but there are mild inclines and steps to help get your exercise in. At one of the two entrances, there is fruit laid out for the birds. We spent many minutes just watching a number of colourful birds take advantage of the feast. It really is a no brainer to come and visit this park for an hour or two.

This is a gringo review and I hope you find it helpful. This is a really walkable big city park in a mid-sized Latin American city. If you've never seen bamboo, well, today's the day. There's a nice dirt path that hugs the outer edge of the park and there's a nice Central path that runs from one side to the other. It seemed to me there were just the right amount of families, Walkers, exercisers and strollers. It's shady with lots of mature tropical trees and very safe.

Paved walking paths. With occasional steep inclines. You can also take stairs and walk on dirt trails. Beautiful park you are under a huge canopy of natural shade most of the time. (Translated by Google) ARCHITECTURAL JEWEL THAT REFUSES TO DISAPPEAR Jorge Eliécer Quijano P. In the early years of the sixties, a group of enthusiastic friends of art and culture in Bucaramanga promoted a reopening of the Peralta Theater located on Carrera 12 N°41-70, with cultural events and actions. I have vivid memories when our father, in the company of my sister, took us to those comedy performances, musical presentations and amateur ballet that we could see for free. This building was inspired by the constructions of the so-called Spanish Corral of the 17th century, closed, relatively small enclosures, without a roof in the central part, which became public theaters, separated from neighboring buildings. The building of this theater was built between 1888 and 1890 and was restored in 1987. Its name was taken from the surname of his predecessor Anselmo Peralta. The stage was built of wood, with clay tile roofs that were supported by a wooden structure, with dressing rooms on one side and side of the stage.

Google Maps shows that the official entrance to this place is on Calle 37. That's correct, but that is the entrance to the government offices and you can't go in that way unless you work there. The actual entrance if you don't work there is around the corner on Carrera 11. Having said all of that, I went in there and there is almost nothing to see. The only exhibition they had on the day that I went was an animation that was projected onto a screen. The animation repeated itself about every 15 seconds so there's nothing new to see when the 15 seconds is up. I can't believe they wasted this valuable space on something so "nothing". Surely they could have found something interesting and artistic to display in that large area.

(Translated by Google) Its architecture with some Gothic elements gives the church a quite authentic style. The mixture of brick, concrete and stone also enriches its architectural beauty. Inside the church, the paintings and finishes offer an atmosphere of tranquility and worth admiring. For those who like religious architecture, it is a church that they should not miss.

(Translated by Google) It is a beautiful parish with a baroque and classical style par excellence. A gem in the city and is managed by the Franciscan community. Right now I have gone to the Christmas bonus masses at 4 in the morning although it really starts at 5 am, except that due to pandemic issues it fills up quickly because they allow 4 people per bench.
