Nestled in the charming coastal town of Cubelles, Platja de Cubelles, or Playa Cubelles, is a delightful sandy beach that offers a perfect escape for families and sun-seekers alike. With its gentle slope into the water, it's an ideal spot for children to play safely while parents can relax on the lovely promenade lined with inviting cafes and ice-cream parlors.
Nice clean beach with a very nice boardwalk. Plenty of benches along the way to sit and enjoy the wonderful view. It can be very windy here at times.

Great beach all round. Safe for kids as the ground slopes very gently in the water and you can safely walk out quite a distance. Lovely promenade so you can relax and watch the beach from a selection of cafes and restaurants, or from the ice-cream parlour. No big hotels, strictly local feel, though very welcoming. You can always find a place, even at the peak weekends when it does get busy.
Gary B — Google review
The anorth end starts to have pebbles and not be so comfortable, but in general it's a nice beach with not so many people except during weekends in August. It has a family atmosphere.

Great museum. A must see in Vilanova. Not gigantic in size but will show you some interesting things about Vilanova and the fishing community. A super additional show of a famous Vilanova person who built vessels models

Enjoyable place to visit. Two small museums within the Vilanova Lighthouse very friendly and with particular history. Some surprise are waiting you when there, which will provide great memories to you. Do you know where is the smallest boat of the world?....🤔

Nice part of Vilanova, with a great beach, walks, lighthouse and restaurants nearby. It seems the council has "discovered" it and is ordering the parking, the beach, adding walkways and "chiringuitos"

La Daurada, located in Vilanova La Geltru, offers a unique Mediterranean space for unforgettable celebrations. With over 7 years of experience in Barcelona province, it's more than just a restaurant; it's a seaside venue for dream weddings and memorable parties. The beach club provides stunning sunset views and famous cocktails to complement the festive atmosphere. Additionally, it features a large terrace area during summer and an indoor space with amazing views.
One of the best restaurants of Spain for the senses a fusión of modern cook of the principal chef. Wonderful staff that explain the plates, delicatessen of tasty.
Miguel A — Google review
Iconic beachside restaurant of Vilanova. During the summer has large terrace area for restaurant and sundown chillout drinks. Pleasant indoor area on first floor with amazing view. Mid week fixed menu of 20 euros. Good value for money. I had seafood tempura and the seafood paella with squid ink - very good indeed. Service attentive. Has its own large carpark. Recomended.
Paul B — Google review
The setting here is undeniably beautiful with the seaside view. It id stunning and creates a great atmosphere, especially around sunset. The service was friendly and attentive, and a few of the dishes we tried were well-executed. The fish dish is expansive but with of the try. The ribeye steak fell short, lacking the flavor and tenderness you’d expect for the price, which made it feel like poor value. We were also caught off guard by a loud event on a Wednesday night, which made it difficult to have a proper conversation. While the ambiance and service are solid, the overall value-for-money doesn’t quite hold up. Perhaps not the best pick for a nice meal.
Earoel K — Google review

The Railway Museum of Catalonia, located in the town of Vilanova la Geltru, is a family-friendly attraction housed in a former station roundhouse. It boasts an impressive collection of steam, diesel, and electric trains, making it a perfect destination for train enthusiasts. The museum offers various event spaces both indoors and outdoors and is easily accessible from Barcelona, making it an ideal day trip for tourists.
Fantastic museum of railway history in Catalonia showing all things Iberian gauge railway, as well as some exhibits from Spain. Some exhibits are in English as well as Catalan and Spanish. It's easy to spend two hours here and then see the local town. Easy to reach from the local station with connections to Barcelona.
Lawrence S — Google review
It worths the while if you have small kids. The access is easy(next to the actual Renfe-Rodalies station of Vilanova and next to the bus station). It has a space to leave your bicycle. If you have a Library Card the price is reduced. Kids under 5 don’t pay. The place is spacious and kids can plat inside or outside freely. I saw kids playing hide and seek even. It also has a playground outside and a picnic area. Lots of stuff to see. Interactive monitors make it more fun for the little ones. Water fountains outside and sitting areas. Clean bathrooms. Helpful stuff. The inside playing area is so fun too! The Vilanova library is also a couple of minutes away if you want to visit it as well. Walking distance (5 minutes) from the beach and a huge park as well. It’s a great excursion for kids!
KM F — Google review
What a truly incredible museum!! The staff were very friendly upon entry. The price to enter was very reasonable. They had information available in Spanish, English, and French! It was very easy to understand and learn. I spent well over an hour exploring the trains, cars, and property.
Jordan U — Google review
Great place to visit and learn about the Catalonia railway. Kids visiting were having a great time. The information on the trains and locomotives were very informative and the staff was wonderfully nice and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend if you’re near Vilanova i la Géltru.
Maria P — Google review
It is probably one of Europe's finest steam engine museums. This museum offers an unparalleled journey through the history of industrial innovation. Featuring a vast collection of restored trains, and interactive exhibits, it captivates enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. The museum's dedication to preserving these magnificent machines makes it a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the golden age of steam power and its profound impact on modern technology. It is a must-see museum near Barcelona! PS. The staff is amazing! Thank you!
Albert B — Google review
Good collection of trains, in a well organised itinerary and with comprehensive explanations. It's possible to go on the footplate, look at the detail and interact with the controls of several steam engines. The indoor museum was also interesting. When we visited on a weekday, however, some of the exhibitions were not functioning. The price was very competitive, and the staff attentive and willing to help. Parking was hard, because the car park next to it seemed to be for regular users only.
Hector G — Google review
I enjoyed my visit here. A good mix of textual information and physical exhibits. Friendly staff.
Des — Google review
The train museum in Catalonia is a must-visit for locomotive enthusiasts and history buffs alike, even if you're coming from just an hour away in Barcelona. Stepping into the museum is like stepping back in time, surrounded by magnificent locomotives and carriages, each whispering tales of Catalonia's rich railway history. The collection is comprehensive and captivating, featuring sleek, modern bullet trains to grand, smoky steam engines. And the best part? You can actually climb aboard some of the steam locomotives, making history come alive. Ticket prices are reasonable, especially considering you have a whole month from purchase to revisit the museum at your leisure. It's perfect for families or anyone who wants to explore the exhibits in multiple visits. Beyond the impressive locomotives, the museum offers a fascinating journey through Catalonia's railway history. Interactive exhibits, informative displays, and historical artifacts paint a vivid picture of how trains shaped the region's landscape, economy, and culture. Whether you're a train enthusiast or just looking for a unique and interesting day trip from Barcelona, the train museum in Catalonia is a winner. With its impressive collection, interactive exhibits, and budget-friendly approach, it's a journey that will leave you enriched and entertained. Bonus Tip: Check the museum's website for special events and activities, which can add another layer of fun to your visit.

Sant Gervasi Beach is a serene and tranquil Blue Flag city beach, protected by breakwaters. It features showers, snack bars and lifeguards during the season. The beach is not overcrowded, which is a plus point. Although parking close to the beach might be challenging for some visitors, it guarantees a peaceful atmosphere that is perfect for those seeking respite from busy crowds.
Totally quiet not so crowded
Saurabh W — Google review
Beautiful beach, walk and views. However, in winter, the parking is very unsafe. We got robbed - broken window + stealing. We dont know if it was pure coincidence but the area behind the beach is not well kept. It's not very clean, lots of overgrown plants, looks sketchy. You don't have a good visual of the parking lot either. Keep that in mind.
Dafne — Google review
This is a small, intimate, family beach with only the most essential services, it has an aura of peace and safety. The beach is flat, the sand is fine, and the seafloor slopes gently. It's almost the last beach of Vilanova i La Geltru - except for the slightly separated naturist beach just off to the side. The only caveat is that the train runs behind the beach every so often but after the first hour we hardly noticed it. There's a car park, cycle parking and motorbike parking, and a restaurant with a terrace & rooftop dining. Not quite quaint, but closer to it than many beaches in the area.

Delicious tapas, food and service. Excellent service and friendly staff. Ideally located in Vilanova, very close to the Beach and la Dorada. There's a park and a bicycle path along the chiringuito. Ideal for families with children because there's a playground with fun rides as well as a soccer pitch. 360 view, and breeze from almost any table. The Rabas and the sandwiches are delicious. You can tell is all freshly made and not from frozen goods. Great coffee. I will definitely recommend it and obviously will come back.

This coastal spot was previously seen as a mere passageway to other destinations but has since become an appealing location in its own right.

Platja Vilanova is a charming Balearic beach that boasts palm trees and adjacent apartments. It offers parasols and sun loungers for rent, making it an ideal spot to soak up the sun. During winter, visitors can enjoy spending time with their furry friends as dogs are welcome on the sandy shores. However, visitors are urged to keep the area clean and ensure their pets don't encroach on others' space.
It is perfect for enjoying time with little kids. Often visiting it with my daughter and her friends. Easy to keep an eye on the kids while they play

Wide and pretty clean, a nice beach club Havana nearby

One of the worst beach experiences I’ve had. Filthy sand, cigarette butts everywhere, and the water smelled weird. Way too crowded, noisy, and absolutely no charm. Avoid unless you enjoy chaos and disappointment."

Outdoor Activities
Playa del Muerto is a picturesque and historic beach, known as the first gay nudist beach in the world. Accessible by a scenic hour-long walk or a shorter bus or taxi ride, it offers a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. Visitors should be cautious of rocky paths and changing tides when navigating to this serene destination. The beach attracts a diverse crowd, offering opportunities to make new friends while enjoying the stunning views along the way.
It was my first time to visit the famous nude beach, located about a 45-minute walk south of Sitges, Spain. It was fairly crowded since it's not a huge beach. But I could find a spot among the hundreds of unclothed male bodies to have a resting place for most of the afternoon. As I Sam currently headed back to Sitges again in July 2025, I thought it would be helpful to add more about my previous visit. Perhaps that impression may or may not change. So, we’ll see. The trek to this beach is not dangerous, but you should be wearing good walking shoes, although people generally go there in beach attire, including sandals. Those will work out fine, but tumble at your own risk. Food and drink are available at the kiosk, located half done the inclined pathway to the beach. Nudity is not required, by any means. But about 75% or more of the males who visit the beach do so au poil. A bit one gay stuff does gone on at eye far end (south or right hand) of the beach. More to follow, as I visit it again in July.

We had seen this place on a few videos. It is a bit of a trek but you get a great view if you go via the golf course. I think the cafe has now gone and we didn’t see the signs so not sure if they had been taken down. We went on a morning so was a bit quiet and seemed to be fairly mixed with men and women and even dogs and kids. The only reason we knew it was the right one was the pride flag painted steps

Love this beach. Because it is a bit secluded it is not always super packed although on the weekends it might be hard to find space. Has a small bar with all you can need during sunny day. Totally worth hike.
Krzysztof T — Google review
It is worth visiting it once just to experience the picturesque bay landscape and the history since this beach existed since 1930 as the sign says. Many people walk there along the beach about 1 hour. But I didn't like this route so much as it can be muddy, sometimes it's just a few rocks in front of the sea. Alternatively one can take a bus or a taxi (which can save about 40 minutes of walk) to a place above the golf club. From there follow through the bushes. Just use Google Maps. It will be needed to go through the rails. At the beach there is a bar. But it's better to take some food and drinks with you. If you have "aqua boots", take them with you, as there are small stones between the sea and the beach. The sea goes deep very fast. So don't swim far from the coast. There is no bay watch there. The beach is a nude one, but wearing a swimwear is okay.

Very nice nudist beach. Gets very busy between 11am and 5pm every sunny day. Unfortunately not accessible by people with mobility issues
Konstantin O — Google review
Omg!! I am in love with that beach!! So quiet, relaxing and clean! A bit of walk though but very much worth it!!! You gotta walk up the mountain and be careful with all the rocks you will be stepping on as they might be tricky and hurt you! Follow the rocky path as shown in the photos and you will end up there! Put in mind that tide changes some times, so when you are coming back after getting down from the mountain some of the land will be covered in water. Depends on the tide. It has not happened to me but to some of my friends. So keep that in mind.

SINCE 1930 A Gay Male Nudist beach primarily, but regularly with quiet str8 couples or the occasional gaggle of loud ‘shouty’ str8 girls hanging out with the ‘fruits’, like bats. Gay girls and everyone is welcome. All kinds of everything on the beach but most folks are in age range late 20s to early 60s. Fitter and younger than Balmains nudista beach because this playa is more remote. You’re left alone to be yourself. You don’t have to go nude but why would you trek all this way and not show off your meat plus two veg or Pepsies and Shierlies. Man Thongs were popular summer 2025. Trainers are best. I’ve walked there in Birkenstocks. Wear rubber shoes to access sea unless your feet are as tough as Rosie the riveter. ACCESS: Me, I take the L2 bus route from the Sitges train station to the upmarket Can Girona residential development. You must inform driver you want Can Girona - €1.50. Bus departs twice per hour at the fifteen minute after/fifteen minute before each hour. Bus journey time 10 minutes. I then walk 15 minutes through the pine forests down to Playa del Muerto. Take a Taxi to closeby the former Atlantia open air discotheque and walk 1.5km up and over a rocky headland. Or shorter walk from Can Girona. The promenade walk from Sitges takes 45 minutes. I prefer to walk back to Sitges in the evening. Mountain bikes are an option. Some ‘alpha male’ couples paddle in like Viking raiders in Decathlon Kayaks and kick sand up. Train Danger: Don’t cross railway track when fast moving trains approach. STOP. Raise your arm allowing the train driver to assess you as a lesser risk. NEVER cross railway as a train approaches- you might encourage some fool to follow your bad example. Beach Bar: Mid May - Early October Chirungay beach bar is well run by family Vegas. They serve fresh salads and refreshments: Mojito Cava Sangria Cola Aqua Cerveza - with/without ice. Parasols Rent an excellent parasol for €10, a lounger €15. Don’t bring a tent or TEMU tent chair or you’ll be asked not to use them. Space on the beach is limited. By all means bring your own parasol but if it’s cheap it will break with the first gust of wind and you’ll look silly. Time: Busy 11.00hrs-18.00hrs. Security: Yes you can visit solo. Your stuff is safer here than at any place else in Sitges. The Beach Bar team are vigilant for ‘wrong ‘uns’ who avoid this place but your property is your responsibility. Lots of folks visit for half a day before flying out of BCN el Prat. WC: Bring a compostable doggy poo poo bag for your number two, then bring it home or dig a hole and bury it. A pee pee in the wet sand or offshore while skinny dipping. Other attractions: YES. There’s an expansive Mediterranean pine forest across the busy train tracks. Very busy afternoons early evenings. Man caves and open air amphitheater of fun at the far end of beach. Bar terrace is the ideal place to hangout with your new best friend necking beers or each other. SWIM SAFETY: At your own risk because there is no lifeguard. Safe swimming inshore. Farther out there are currents which might cause issues for novice swimmers. Give my review a like if you feel you’ve got a good overview of Playa del Muerto.
Ian W — Google review
It takes a lot of patience, courage and resolve to come all the way to this secluded spot on the rocky coast south of Sitges. If you like a short adventure on your way to a beach, this place is for you. If you don't like to hike on rocks for an hour, it isn't. For those who take the plunge, you will be rewarded with a smaller crowd than the beaches in the center of town and a vastly more picturesque setting. The crowd is varied, gay and straight, nudist and clothed. It's not exclusively one thing or another, even if the signs say so.

(Translated by Google) Simply wonderful, naturist/nudist beach, (although people in swimsuits also go there, where textiles and nudists coexist without any problem) - but it is a 100x100 nudist beach. Respect, tolerance, freedom, no one is judged, you meet new people, to go and see you have the train tracks... and if you feel like taking a walk and looking at the 'views' there is a beautiful forest full of hiding places and fantastic places to play 😈 (away from the beach where no one is bothered) In short, to repeat without a doubt (I will return soon) I will update photos as they go.

(Translated by Google) It's a shame that to go and enjoy the Prat de Vilanova beach you have to pay a fee, the only place before the bridge is free and they have reduced the space and on top of that they say they will fine you. You go and enjoy nature and you have to give up your salary!!!!
