The Watson Museum in Rajkot is a hidden gem for history enthusiasts and culture lovers. Located in the heart of the city, it offers a fascinating glimpse into the region's rich heritage. The museum houses a remarkable collection of artifacts, including ancient coins, pottery, sculptures, paintings, and textiles, each telling a unique story of Gujarat's history. The displays are well-organized, and the descriptions are informative, making it easy for visitors to understand the significance of each item. One of the highlights is the collection of artifacts from the Indus Valley Civilization and the tribal art section, showcasing the diversity of Gujarat's culture. The building itself is a colonial-era structure, adding to the charm of the visit. The staff is courteous and helpful, ensuring a pleasant experience. The ticket prices are very affordable, making it accessible to everyone. While the museum is fascinating, it could benefit from better lighting and improved maintenance in some areas. Still, it is an excellent place to spend a couple of hours exploring history.
Akash J — Google review
Must visit place if you are in Rajkot to know the history and traditions of Gujarat. Ticket price was just nominal 5/- as i visited on September 2025 might be to make it affordable to everyone. Outside the Museum park was very beautiful to relax.

Watson Museum, Rajkot Visiting the Watson Museum was a delightful experience! It offers a fascinating glimpse into the rich history and culture of Saurashtra and Gujarat. Located in the beautiful Jubilee Garden, the museum is housed in a charming colonial-style building that adds to its heritage feel. What I liked: A great collection of archaeological artifacts, coins, sculptures, traditional textiles, and ancient relics from the Indus Valley Civilization. Informative displays on Rajkot’s royal heritage, art, and craftsmanship. Well-maintained galleries that can be explored comfortably in 1–2 hours. Very affordable entry fee (₹5 for Indians). Helpful and knowledgeable staff. Convenient location — just a few minutes from Rajkot Junction. What could be improved: Some exhibits could use better lighting and clearer descriptions. Certain sections feel slightly outdated and could benefit from modern displays or digital guides. Closed on Wednesdays, 2nd and 4th Saturdays, and public holidays — plan accordingly. Tips for visitors: Visit in the morning for a peaceful experience. Combine your visit with a walk in Jubilee Garden and a quick stop at Kaba Gandhi No Delo nearby. Photography is generally allowed, but confirm before taking pictures. Overall, Watson Museum is a must-visit spot in Rajkot for anyone interested in history, culture, and art. It beautifully preserves the essence of Gujarat’s glorious past. Highly recommended! 👏
Bhavik K — Google review
Loved this museum! There was tons of historical knowledge and information. Plenty to show for the history of India and the influences of the British empire. The staff were not the most helpful however the exhibits more than make up for that.
Suraj J — Google review
It's a collection on documentary prototype of mahatma Gandhi life journeys wh8ch are well explained and described. Museums has 40 camp which one of them having unique information. Each camp having separate guide for giving information and guiding. Entry fees for museum is 25₹. There is also free bag storage counter. Staff is good and they treatment is good. Nearest bus station, Railway station or airport is Rajkot. Local transports are there to achieve your locations. No OLA or Uber is available. Shortly is nice place
Suhas ( — Google review
The Watson Museum exhibiting collection of items from around Gujarat. The items are good quality, and arranged thematically. The items on display is a very eclectic mix of items that would not be out of place in a major museum, but arranged in a compact package. Sadly, there’s very little information except for the labels. The religious statues, marble statue of Queen Victoria and the Durbar Hall of the princely states of Gujarat are the most interesting items in the museum. The museum is located inside Jubilee Garden and can be done in about 30 minutes. The cost of entry is trivial, but taking photos is twice the cost of entrance for a foreigner.

Garden
Nestled in the heart of Rajkot, Jubilee Garden is a sprawling oasis boasting meticulously maintained grounds adorned with colorful flower beds, elegant fountains, and towering lamp posts. The garden offers serene walking trails flanked by lush trees, making it an ideal spot for morning runs or leisurely picnics. Visitors can also find convenient amenities such as restrooms and snack kiosks.
Jubilee Garden is a very old and beautiful garden of Rajkot. People come here to sit in the shade of a big, lush tree. There is also a Jubilee Museum in front of the garden. A very small ticket is also kept for entry into the museum. Very few visitors are seen in the museum. Because no one has any special information about this museum. In which a unique statue of a 7-foot queen of the British era made of marble is also kept. In front of the garden, there is also a temple of Navagraha where people come to visit frequently. There is also a washroom facility inside the garden. Many people also come near the gate of the garden to feed pigeons and birds. People who sell chana also stand near the gate. A very nice bandstand has also been built inside the garden which is currently under the supervision of the archaeological survey of India. It is mentioned in the list of Gondal's Rani Nandkunwarba, who was the first Rajput princess of Kathiawar who visited England with her husband, and was built by Gondal's Raja Bhagwatsinhji. There is also a very nice parking arrangement outside the garden. This is a best place for picnic. Your home made food is allowed at this gardan. I m not sure but there is not security person so no one stop you. If you go there with your pet. Highly recommend to visit this place at morning and evening

Museum and Library is Good to visit there. Mahatma Gandhi museum is also near by. One of the oldest garden of Rajkot city. However, garden needs improvement.
Bhavik S — Google review
Jubilee Garden in Rajkot is a delightful oasis in the heart of the city. The lush greenery, well-maintained lawns, and vibrant flowerbeds make it a perfect place to escape the urban hustle and bustle. The garden's serene ambiance and well-planned pathways offer a peaceful retreat for visitors of all ages. One of the highlights of Jubilee Garden is the impressive variety of plants and trees, showcasing the region's diverse flora. It's a paradise for nature lovers and photographers alike. The garden also features a beautiful fountain, adding to the charm and creating a soothing atmosphere. Families and friends can be seen spending quality time together, enjoying picnics, or simply relaxing on the benches scattered throughout the park. Children have their own designated play area with swings and slides, ensuring they have a fun-filled time. The maintenance and cleanliness of Jubilee Garden are commendable. The staff works diligently to keep the premises tidy and well-organized, making it a pleasant experience for all visitors. However, during peak hours, the garden can get quite crowded, which may reduce the tranquility. It's advisable to visit during early mornings or weekdays to avoid the crowds and fully immerse in the garden's serenity. In conclusion, Jubilee Garden in Rajkot is a beautiful urban park that offers a refreshing and rejuvenating experience. Whether you seek solitude, a family outing, or a leisurely stroll amidst nature's beauty, this garden is a must-visit destination in Rajkot.

Divyesh G — Google review
Jubilee Garden is a large park in the centre of Rajot. The Watsome museum and Lang Library are two buildings dominate the centre of the park. As parks go, it’s fairly clean, but there’s not that much grass with large patches bare. It’s actually quite a peaceful escape from the busy city and there’s playground facilities for children, but I wouldn’t go out of the way unless visiting the aforementioned buildings
Macedonboy — Google review
Honestly the place is not my vibe. The garden is no matter old and maintained. But you may find people sleeping inside during the noon time which my not allow fpr people to explore more about it. Even people come here to sit and relax but most of them are sleeping inside dorm or else taking lunch in the center.

Museum
Kaba Gandhi No Delo, meaning "Gandhi's Residence," is a museum in Rajkot that was once the primary residence of Mahatma Gandhi and his family. The house, where Gandhi spent his childhood years from 1881 to 1887 while his father served as Diwan, has been transformed into a museum showcasing photographs and letters depicting the life of the national hero. This colonial-style townhouse offers insights into the early influences that shaped Gandhi's philosophies.
Numerous authentic Gandhian artifacts, including his personal things, photographs, and artifacts, may be found inside the stunning structure. Pictorial displays of the Mahatma's life are shown throughout the residence, which are accompanied by bilingual captions in Hindi and Gujarati. Place is hygienically maintained. Details about the historical place is explained by the staff over there Must visit place to know about gandhi ji in detail.

It’s the place where Gandhi ji had spent 11 year of his life with his family. It’s later on become the museum place but sold to someone which afterwards purchased back by king of Rajkot in ₹50,000/-. The structure are the original only i.e. all windows , doors and walls are same but the roof has modified a bit.

It's a historical place. The father of the nation - Mahatma Gandhiji was living with his family in this house while he was studying in Rajkot at Alfred school. This place is reserved in his memory and we can visit here to have glimpse of Gujarati (kathiyawadi) culture of that time. It's must visit place for those who love to reveal history.

Mahatma Gandhi's childhood home, preserved and revived. It would have been great to see it in its original state. In any case, it is a great place to visit if you know and admire MK Gandhi. Enriched with photographs and stories from a foregone era. Going through the history and historical significance of Gandhiji's time takes one into a different era.

The house of Karamchand Gandhi ji, the father of Gandhi ji, this house was built in the year 1880 when Gandhi ji's father became the Dewan of Rajkot, Gandhi ji lived in this house for 7 years during his childhood , now this has been converted into a small museum. Entry is absolutely free of cost, a lot of information is available here with photos

The place tells you history more intimately. If you are imaginative you can picture Gandhi's childhood. Very neatly kept museum.
Navin A — Google review
Kaba Gandhi no Delo is the residence where Mahatma Gandhi lived during his time in Rajkot. The meticulously preserved property offers a captivating glimpse into his life and is definitely worth a visit, conveniently situated just a 10-minute walk from the Mahatma Gandhi Museum. However, it's important to note a few things when planning your visit. The location can be a bit challenging to find amid the bustling streets, nestled within a dense market area where even rickshaws cannot navigate. Your options are to either take a stroll to reach the destination or find nearby parking, which may pose some difficulty, and then proceed on foot. Despite these considerations, exploring Kaba Gandhi no Delo provides a meaningful opportunity to connect with Gandhi's legacy and gain insights into his life in Rajkot.

The Rotary International Dolls Museum, located in Rajkot, Gujarat, is a unique bi-level museum showcasing over 1,600 dolls from 102 countries dressed in traditional attire. Established in 2001 by Deepak Agrawal, the museum aims to educate children about global cultures through an entertaining experience. Supported by various organizations and Rotary clubs worldwide, the well-organized exhibits offer insight into the rich cultural heritage of different countries.
It is a must visit and best place for kids to see different cultures around the world and that too under one roof. The Dolls Museum is one of it's kind with amazing dolls from around the world. A must visit place in Rajkot. The cultures of different countries are being reflected with the eye catchy doll setups. The place reflects different cultures from around 102+ country with 1600+ Dolls in museum. It's on 2nd and 3rd floor. There is a lift available. Monday is closed. The staff is also very well informed and they narrated us the complete story behind the set up of this museum. The main thing is no doll being purchased, but all dolls are being gifted by all rotary clubs around the world… The entry fee is Rs. 30 per person. There is extra Rs. 30 charge per camera if you want to take photographs. Cool place....

It's is one of the best museum of Gujarat, to understand the global culture. However its in narrow area, parking is also little problem. Worth to visit. Spare 1-2 hours.
Lalit G — Google review
A unique museum!! It's a rare opportunity to see a Dolls museum, here in Rajkot. Good to visit with children. The museum is situated on 2&3 rd floors. The lift was not working when we reached there. We had to climb steps. It was built by an ex Rotary president of Rajkot for his daughter. He wrote mails to Rotary branches of the world and hence many international branches sent dolls representing their country and regions. It takes around 1 hour to see all the exhibits. The rooms are air conditioned. The tickets cost ₹30 per adult and ₹15 per child. It costs another ₹125 if you want to click photos. The dolls represent their country's costume and culture. Children can spend good time there. However make sure they have emptied their bladder before. Because the toilet here is a medieval era one, on the ground floor. I wish the Rotary club would pay attention and renovate the toilet as kids come to this place.

In one word it is simply A Magical Journey Through Cultures! The Rotary International Dolls Museum in Rajkot is a fascinating wonderland for children of all ages: Over 1,600 dolls from 102+ countries, each showcased in traditional attire and set up with miniature scenes that let kids explore global cultures at a glance. Recognized in the Limca Book of Records for its unique and expansive collection. The displays include everything from folk dance dolls (like Bhangra and Dandiya) to Barbie and Einstein figurines, string/glove puppets, and even a rare Rocking Zebra—only one of five in the world! The themed showcases are beautifully lit and educational, with info about the country, culture, music, and costumes for each doll. Friendly and helpful staff guide visitors through the exhibits and share the fascinating stories behind many dolls. Includes interactive spaces like a cinema hall showing documentaries and cultural films, a Foreign Language Learning Centre, and a souvenir shop with stickers, postcards, and miniature flags. The Rotary International Dolls Museum is a safe, clean, and well‑maintained spot with plenty of visual stimulation and educational value. It’s perfect for a fun and cultural outing with kids. Every visit feels like a mini‑world tour where curious children can learn about cultures around the globe through beautiful doll displays. Note: Highly recommended Mainly for Kids.
Siva T — Google review
A total different experience. Must visit, just 30₹ pp entry fees. This museum is surely made due to low and attraction towards dolls by rotary club. Definitely not a commercial thought process. Much appreciate the concept. They have 2 floors of museum, soveniour shop inside and collection of 1800+ different dolls from approx. 108 countries. Totally different and unique experience. Worth visiting. Please note its closed on Monday.
Sanjog K — Google review
It’s been great to see a father’s commitment to her daughter for building such a dolls museum because he wasn’t able to make her daughter saw museum in Delhi. Many activities are going on here with just deposit and if full attendance then they refund full amount. Really well preserved all dolls in museum and one Zebra ride kind of activity is great for kids.

Amazing, surprising, charming and mesmerizing world of Dolls from every corner of world. This may seem to be a children's attraction...But no..Not all. This is the world of innocence, beauty. Located in the heart of Rajkot, The Rajkumar College is a prestigious private educational institution with a rich history dating back to the 19th century. The campus showcases a blend of Indian and European architectural styles and has been providing quality education for generations. The city itself is known for its vibrant atmosphere, bustling with people engaged in various activities such as business, leisure, and sports like cricket.
The science stream is often considered the most challenging but also the most rewarding for students with a keen interest in mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. It opens up doors to various lucrative career options such as engineering, medicine, research, and technology.

Rajkumar College (known as RKC) is one of the oldest K-12 institutions in India. It was established in 1868 by the erstwhile Princes and Chiefs of Kathiawar. This institution constructed in the Indo Gothic style is spread around 25 acres and is difficult to miss if you are in Dr. Radhakrishnan road in Rajkot. While this institution was only meant for boys (read Princes) in the olden days it is currently a co-educational boarding and day school affiliated to the CBSE. I had an external view of this institution since this is a functioning school and not exactly a tourist location

Dear Public, It is with a mix of disappointment and determination that I address you regarding recent events involving Rajkumar College (RKC) in Rajkot, Gujarat, India. As some of you may know, I, H.H. Prince Manvendra, have recently received an invitation to an event at RKC, indicating that I could bring my husband, H.H. Prince deAndre, Duke of Hanumanteshwar, as my plus one. However, despite this indication on the invitation card, I have been informed that my husband would not be allowed to accompany me to the event. As of the writing of this letter, there has been no further information from RKC regarding this matter. Nevertheless, I feel compelled to share my thoughts and intentions regarding the situation. In solidarity with my husband and in defense of the rights of all individuals, particularly those within the LGBTQIA+ community, I have made the decision not to attend the event. While this decision comes with a sense of sadness, it is also fueled by a deep-seated commitment to fighting for equality and inclusivity. As someone who has personally experienced discrimination and bias, I understand the importance of standing up against injustice and advocating for change. My absence from the event is not a sign of defeat but rather a reaffirmation of my dedication to championing the rights of all people, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. In India, discrimination against LGBTQIA+ individuals is unequivocally prohibited under the Constitution. Article 19 guarantees the right to freely express one's identity, and recent legal milestones have further advanced the rights of queer and transgender individuals. It is disheartening to witness discrimination persist within institutions like RKC, especially when they should serve as bastions of knowledge, respect, and dignity. I urge RKC and all educational institutions to reflect on their policies and practices, ensuring that they align with the principles of equality and respect enshrined in our Constitution. Let us strive together to create a society where every individual is valued, celebrated, and treated with the dignity they deserve. In solidarity and with unwavering resolve, H.R.H. Mohandas Gandhi High School, formerly known as Alfred High School, holds a significant place in history as the educational institution where Mahatma Gandhi received his primary education. The school's impressive Gothic Norman style architecture and well-maintained premises offer visitors a glimpse into the bygone British colonial era. The library houses an extensive collection of literature related to Gandhi's life, providing insights into his formative years and moral values.

It is a really nice place to know about Gandhiji and gandhiji's life. It is very good museum. This is being made by Gujarat government. Every Indian or any citizen of tge world should visit one time or more time to know about the nation father of india and a centuries man.

The Mohandas Gandhi High School is a former school converted museum dedicated to the entire life of Gandhi. The name of the school is Alfred High School, but commonly called by the name of it’s most prestigious graduate. The entrance fee is even more discriminatory than the usual 10x for foreigners and I was conflicted about paying 15x compared to a local. I initially started off visiting a couple of rooms and then an employee began to guide me through the remainder of the museum because it was part of the ticket. There are over forty rooms in total, each depicting the life of Gandhi in chronological order. Each room has a good amount of information and exhibits on display. Here’s the problem with the guide. The guide takes you through each room and talks about each room. Each room has more information than the guide gives and I would often want to spend more time in the room, except for the guide wanting me to move to the next room. Don’t get me wrong, the guide spoke good English and did a good job of explaining the contents and theme of the room. I just wanted to do things at my own pace. Overall, the museum is excellent, but the price for foreigners and the guide rushing me through the museum was too annoying.

A must must visit place in Rajkot. Earlier known as Alfred school, now turned into a museum now known as Mahatma Mohandas Gandhi Museum. Now this place and building wholly dedicated to the life of Mahatma Gandhi and his journey, life, principles, struggle and teachings. Best part is inside the dome they have special screening of learning’s and teachings of Gandhi through really beautiful light show which is a must attend. When we were there sadly not many people were there, probably awareness needs to be created. For a soothing environment and learning of Gandhi you should go to this Museum. #Rajkot #Museum #tourist #spot #historic #building #gujarat

The best area which remain untouched by visitors -is the library. The library contains each & every book written on Mahatma Gandhi Ji. In between your visit to the Alfred School & it's light show, you must visit the library & get hold of some few pages of great books written on him.

Nice Gujarati food, most of the time quick service unless on weekends when you find rush. One of the unique things which I love is old songs always getting played in restaurant whenever you go. Staff is courteous and nice. The food is tasty too. Must try their shrikhand in summers.

“Loved my visit to PVR. Their Gujarati al a carte (or buffet/thali if available) options are top‑notch — everything tastes fresh, with excellent use of traditional masalas. Chaas was refreshing, dessert was sweet but not overly so. The place feels comfortable and the staff go the extra mile. Highly, highly recommended for a true taste of home.”

Ranjit Vilas Palace is a historic royal residence located in Rajkot. The architecture reflects Indo-European style, and the palace has great cultural and historical value. It is not generally open for the public, as it's still the residence of the royal family. However, the exterior view and the surrounding area are impressive and worth seeing if you're interested in heritage. The palace adds charm to the city and is a reminder of Rajkot's royal history. Must-see from outside if you're visiting the area.

Ranjit Vilas Palace is located in Rajkot, Gujarat, and was built by Maharaja of Wankaner H.H. Amarsinhji. It covers an area of 225 acres. There are no visitors allowed inside the palace except for under special circumstances granted that they have permission from the present descendant of the Jhala dynasty - High Royal Highness Dr. Digvijay Sinh Zala. The palace is decorated with a fusion of historic architectural styles borrowed from the Mughal, Dutch, Gothic and Victorian architecture. However, the maintenance of the palace has been the centre of scrutiny by many of its visitors

I was at Ranjit Villas Palace, Rajkot as part of my work. Its a residential palace where the Royal family still lives. I heard from one of the attendents that it is open to visitors only on special requests. From the little I could explore after my work, Rajkot seemed like a small city with bustling market streets. The Royal family is planning a museum of their personal collection which shall be open to the public soon.

The timing on google is fake. Maybe because some people mix the Ranjit Vilas palace of Rajkot with the Ranjit Vilas palace in Wankaner. The Rajkot palace is not open for visits.

They took money twice from me ! The matter is not about just ₹300/- but all about customer satisfaction. When paid the money once, they asked for the money for another time, after paying them the money for second time, when asked for the camera footage, they did not answered and just returned the money paid second time. The office staff was irresponsible and the abusive language with customers clearly gives a message about the short life left of the petrol pump if not changed the staff soon. At least I or my family will not again go the pump for sure but I will also suggest everyone strongly to avoid going to this petrol pump !!

The museum beautifully showcases the inspiring life journey of Mahatma Gandhi — from his school days in Rajkot to his time in Africa, his principles of Satyagraha, and the influence of his guru. The displays, visuals, and storytelling make history come alive. It was both educational and deeply moving to see how Gandhiji’s values shaped his life and the nation. Truly a must-visit place for anyone who wishes to understand the real essence of truth and non-violence.

Get Opportunity to know something more about Mahatma Gandhi that is generally not found in school books or not easily available on public platforms. Secondly, I listened to the audio speech of Mahatma Gandhi in his own voice on various subjects/Topics.

School converted into Mahatma Gandhi Museum, place was so huge and building was well maintained one place to know about Gandhi. Ticket price is 30/- on September 2025 worth a visit.

It was a very nice experience. The whole jivan Katha of Gandhiji was clearly seen. ACs made our 3 hours very comfortable inside the museum. One can visit you own in the hot afternoon and feel very comfortable. The light show in the evening is really worth watching

Nestled in the heart of Rajkot, the Shri O. V. Sheth Regional Community Science Center (RCSC) has been a beacon of scientific enlightenment since its inception in 1979 with an initiative called Prayog. This unique center was established to combat superstitions and promote scientific thinking among locals, particularly in a region where many were misled by tricksters posing as Tantrics and Sadhus.

I attended Big Bang Astronomy Club here since 18 years. They have telescope library and normal library too. Have many different programs to satisfy your scientific curiosity (i.e Sunday science school and museum)

A great place to learn science. I am a member of Big Bang Astronomy Club which is a part of this center. The club organises really nice events on Astronomy.

It's the only science centre in the region, located in the lung of the city, supported by an excellent qualified, dedicated and selfless team. Unfortunately it is badly in need of support, and the lack of funds and space is clearly visible. It is the need of the hour that individuals interested in seeing any development in science gather all the support possible, to ensure that the place sustains. The activities of the science center are exemplary, and the team is highly dedicated!
Nilesh S — Google review
Excellent activities for the service to science are carried out by this centre. May it be basic sciences, electronics, astronomy and life sciences. This centre ignites the young minds to bring out the scientist in them. I strongly suggest the parents to bring their children here and make them a member
Ojas S — Google review
It's a fun with science place for people of all ages. Bring your kids here to get them hooked to science and physics. They run an astronomy club. There is a planetarium. The building also houses a computer learning centre in which people of age can enroll.

Today my wife and I visited O. V. Sheth Regional Community Science Centre, Aryabhatt Science Museum, and Pramukh Swami Planetarium at racecourse, Rajkot, Gujarat. All three places are in an old, unattractive, poorly maintained building. Although the ticket was only Rs 5.00 for the Science Canter and Museum, there was nothing there to see, know, learn, enjoy, and get excited. All the lengthy information about everything was in regional language, Gujarati. There was nothing worth noticing in the planetarium, either. At 5 p.m., we were the only two visitors! We could not see the show in the planetarium because they wanted minimum five spectators. We both felt that the visit was wastage of time.
