Even though the waiting staff knew that we were outside she didnt bring the menu. So I had to get in there and try to have an eye-contact, but she didnt come again. Again, I got in there to ask for menu and finally she brought us. And it took another 10 minutes to order :) (because no one came) 2. Unprofessional waiting staff We ordered a cup of cider and when she was bringing me, she spilt on my leg.. 3. Made a mistake, without apology and solution She brought two crepes we ordered but mine wasnt the one I orderd.. but she was like oh, you ordered a different stuff, you can keep it if you want or I can bring you the one you ordered..... lol.. She didnt even apologise of her mistkake. 4. Long waiting Whatever her mistake was I dont mind, it could happen. But if you made mistakes several times, at least try to fix the problem as quick as possible.. HOWEVER it took so so long time to get the crepes that I ordered while the table who sat down after us getting food first.. Im sure she just told the cook to make another one carelessly no emergency no guiltiness whatsoever. In conclusion I waited for the crepes for 40 minuites but eventually didnt come to me.. what a lovely place.

The young man who bought this place a few years ago is making sure to deliver the exquisite and modern dishes while paying due respect to the traditions of Brittany’s cuisine. The “Village menu” is a very good “value for money” - we loved the shark and buckwheat and the pork in amazing sauce (unfortunately can’t remember the name).

After a sightseeing tour through the village Locronan we were looking for a dinner option, it was already very late. We noticed this sweet looking place with many people sitting outside enjoying their meal. Happily we got a table and the kitchen was still open willing to serve main course and desserts. We took the "plat to jour" and we were very pleased. I decided for Panna Cotta as dessert and I was over the moon with this decision. It was a fantastic end of the day. We really enjoyed our stay. Sadly, great cuisine is not as ubiquitous as it once was, especially in Brittany. But Au Coin du Feu is how it used to be: cooking with feeling. Our expectations have been set very high based on promotion pictures of nice desserts and plates decorated with flowers, however, the real plates are not like that at all (but to be fair, we could have prevented the disappointment if we checked recent photos and reviews) The entrees were fine, however the duck (main) that should have been medium (the waitress specifically asked about this when taking order) was more on the “well done” side of the spectrum. The fish of the day was also overdone (very dry). Our clothes smelled from that oil even the next morning after our visit. The desserts were OK but neither imaginative nor beautifully plated. The only explanation I can come up with for this experience is that there are multiple chefs in the restaurant and we happened to stumble across a different one that prepared the dishes on promo pictures. On the plus side, at least one of the three waiters spoke at least few words in English (or other language than French), which surprisingly is not common in France

The quality of the courses was uneven. They started on a high note with a flavorful smoked trout tartar in an artful arrangement. Sadly, both our main course dishes disappointed: The fish of the day (Pollock) had no taste in combination with the strong flavors of the vegetables in balsamic vinegar. And the pork belly dish lacked acidity to balance out the dominating sweetness of the different kinds of corn. The desert again delighted, especially the Panna Cotta mischievously served in a flower pot. Overall, our impression that the restaurant tries to take a stab at elevated cuisine, but at times misses the mark.
