Island
Mykonos, a small island in Greece, is renowned for its vibrant nightlife, 16th-century windmills, and beautiful beaches. One of the exclusive resorts on the island is Santa Marina, offering private sandy beaches and luxurious accommodations including rooms with private plunge pools and sprawling villas. The resort features a beach club where guests can enjoy stunning views of the ocean and watch mega yachts sail by.
We visited one day off of our cruise ship. There was a shuttle from the port to the town or a 30 minute walk. We really enjoyed walking around the town seeing the beautiful architecture. Buildings are all white but very colorful doors, windows, and/or balconies. We enjoyed seeing the windmills, churches, shops and restaurants, flowers, and cats. We found the people very friendly. The streets are busy so watch for motorcycles especially. There are 2 public beaches. There is a public restroom at the shuttle drop off and somewhere in the middle that are free to use. Maybe you will be lucky and see Petros the Pelican.

Really beautiful place, loved seeing the waters and just only wished that I would have seen the more local side of what makes up this island. Enjoyed their local beer, had some nice seafood here and can’t wait to come back here again.
Ryan — Google review
The place itself is beautiful, and I like that it’s mostly white with touches of blue. The food and drinks are expensive, and it’s very crowded. I should mention that we went in August, so maybe if you visit at a different time it wouldn’t be as busy. What bothered me the most was the strong wind, which really affected my overall experience.
Anna-Mari E — Google review
My family and I loved this place. Vibrant & beautiful with some wonderful food. The cobblestone alleys were just as we imagined them and the windmills area was amazing. Though there was the tourist rush in August we did not find it overwhelming. Prices of souvenirs were on the higher side. The people of Greece are very hospitable and we enjoyed our stay.
Ritu N — Google review
Beautiful island! The day we visited, it was very windy. We enjoyed seeing the windmills, Little Venice, and the Lighthouse. Our guide treated us to various types of baklava which was delicious! We enjoyed the water taxi, too.
Cheryl E — Google review
Mykonos completely lived up to its reputation as one of the most beautiful islands in the world — and then some. From the moment we arrived, the island felt alive with energy yet peaceful in its charm. The combination of whitewashed houses, blue-domed chapels, and winding cobblestone streets made every corner feel like a photograph waiting to happen. Walking through Mykonos Town (Chora) was pure magic — the maze-like alleys opened up into hidden squares, boutique shops, and cozy cafés framed by blooming bougainvillea. The windmills overlooking Little Venice at sunset are even more breathtaking in person. The view of the sea shimmering under golden light while music plays softly in the background is something words can’t fully capture. The locals were warm, friendly, and genuinely proud of their island. Whether we stopped for a coffee, browsed a small art gallery, or dined at a local taverna, we always felt welcome. The service everywhere was exceptional — people took their time to chat, recommend dishes, and share stories, making us feel at home despite being thousands of miles away. We spent the afternoon exploring and enjoying fresh Mediterranean food by the water, then ended the evening watching the sun melt into the horizon. Mykonos is not just about nightlife or beaches; it’s a place that feeds your soul with its beauty, hospitality, and timeless spirit.
Ravi S — Google review
It’s a beautiful island. Sadly, tourism has displaced the native inhabitants. Even so, it still retains its picturesque beauty.
David C — Google review
We booked 3 nights coming with ferry from Athens, the first sight of the island 🏝️ is breathtaking and so romantic 🥰, since we had a 🚗 so we went touring the island which all streets are very narrow maximum two small cars and some times on car only can pass with no traffic lights 🚥 at junctions so take care , little Venice part is so nice but expensive the beach all over choose according to your budget Overall we had great time and enjoyed the trip

When planning a romantic getaway to Mykonos, you have the choice of staying in the lively Mykonos Town or along its stunning beaches. Many couples opt for the vibrant town, where an array of restaurants, shops, and nightlife awaits. With convenient transportation options like buses and water taxis at your disposal, exploring the island is effortless. For those seeking luxury accommodations with breathtaking sea views or beachfront access, there are numerous upscale hotels and resorts available.
I've owned my pair of Mykonos Sandals for a couple of years now, and I can confidently say they are some of the best sandals I've ever purchased. From the moment I slipped them on, I could feel the quality craftsmanship—soft, supple leather, a perfect fit, and a design that exudes Greek elegance. What really impressed me was their durability. Despite regular use over the years, they still look fantastic and have held up through vacations, long walks, and everyday wear. The soles are sturdy, and the straps have never stretched or worn out. These sandals aren't just stylish; they are made to last. In fact, I've been so impressed that I come back each year to buy more for my family and friends! Everyone I’ve gifted a pair to has fallen in love with them. If you're looking for sandals that combine comfort, quality, and longevity, Mykonos Sandals are worth every penny!

Maria, the owner, is delightful. The quality of the sandals is good and the prices are quite fair.

The owner is super friendly and the sandals I got were priced well and looks beautiful! They are not super stiff and hard and actually surprisingly quite comfortable and the leather was really soft. They also had a variety of different types of sandals.

Super nice ambiance in the store and outside they have beautiful sitting area. The store team and service was excellent especially Markella who made sure we got what we wanted. She is absolutely amazing and knows the brand inside out, very professional.

Andreas was super nice helping my husband and I get our bags 😊 he came to us asking if we needed any assistance and showed us many options! rest of the staff didn’t look as friendly and got one word replies from the others when I asked a question.
Marissa R — Google review
We visited the store on Wednesday 17th September, and was assisted by the wonderful Alexandra! Alexandra provided us with best-in-class service, and she was absolutely amazing with her wealth of product knowledge. This was our first time visiting the Louis Vuitton store in Mykonos and it was delightful
Leone R — Google review
I purchased a product on August 23rd at the Louis Vuitton boutique in Mykonos, which, as it turned out, was not available in store. I was told it would be delivered from Athens within 3 to 4 days. I clearly mentioned that I needed the item by August 29th at the latest, as I was leaving the island that day. The sales assistant assured me this would not be a problem. On August 27th, I visited the boutique and was told the item had not arrived yet, and since it’s an island, delivery could take 10-15 days. This was completely different from what I had been promised earlier. On August 29th at 12:00I requested to cancel my order and receive a refund, but just 4 hours later, I received an email that my order was ready for collection. This is not the standard of service I have previously experienced at Louis Vuitton. None of the sales staff even suggested sending the product to my address. Very poor customer service and definitely not what I would expect from Louis Vuitton. Truly disappointing.
Matt R — Google review
Marquella(forgive my spelling) assisted me with finding a purse for my mother. She has exquisite taste and knows what’s best for the clientele. If I’m lucky to return to Mykonos and Louis Vuitton especially, I hope to see her again.

I had an amazing experience at the LV store in Mykonos. I was promptly greeted at the door and my sales associate was absolutely lovely and assisted me in finding the perfect bag. Highly recommend this location over others throughout Europe, as the service was hands down the best I have encountered at any LV store.

Greek Orthodox church
Agia Kyriaki Church is a well-preserved basilica in Mykonos, dedicated to St. Helena and St. Constantine. It offers stunning views of the Aegean Sea and features a 9-meter bell tower and important icons such as Archangel Michael, St. John the Baptist, and the Apostles. The church's marble columns are made from Delos Island marble, and it boasts a remarkable iconostasis.
It is a very nice 17th century church located in a square at the beginning of Matogianni Street. The church is usually decorated with flowers. Next to the church is a large bougainvillea. The combination of the decorated church with the bougainvillea is one of the most beautiful photo spots in Mykonos Town.

One of the most beautiful shopping malls I’ve ever been to! It smells amazing, which I truly appreciate. The shops had exclusive collections for the location. Staff at Loewe and Valentino were the nicest, they even gave us recommendations on local things to do on the island. It’s a very cool and unique experience.

Parking was €15 which is a rip-off. The area itself is pretty and good for photos, however not many stores. Shop assistants will hound you to get commission and prices are extortionate compared to other locations. Good for a quick stroll around but not much else.
PQ — Google review
I really loved this place and had a great time! The boutiques are lovely, and their collections are unique. The pop-ups are amazing too. I definitely recommend visiting. I also tried the coffee and cheesecake at Nammos Café they were delicious, and the staff were very kind and friendly.”
Ajayeb A — Google review
Went for nammos for lunch they offer valet with 20 euros which sound fair , the seating area is lovely the food is super tasty, we ordered steak it was soo tasty ,beach is sandy , service is super , well worth going though bit expensive compared with the rest of island 🏝️
Nahla S — Google review
It may be worth reconsidering what defines true luxury. When visiting to purchase a designer dress worth several thousand euros, being charged 20 euros for parking feels out of place. Premium experiences should extend beyond the products themselves — thoughtful service and attention to detail are what truly set luxury destinations apart. After all, this isn’t the kind of treatment one expects after shopping at a high-street store.
Lukasz L — Google review
Great place for taking photos. Parking is 20 Euros for 12 hrs or per entry like most places on the island. You need a generous budget ...

Here, you can discover elegant clothing by British icon Victoria Beckham and luxurious accessories from renowned footwear brands like Aquazzura and Christian Louboutin. The store also features unique creations from Balmain and Zimmermann among other celebrated names.
By far the best store in Mykonos for high-end luxury! The service from the two lovely gentlemen working there was amazing! They were honest, kind and very knowledgeable, also coming from Paris and working in the fashion industry, I was pleasantly surprised that they have the latest collections that I’m currently on a waitlist for brands such as ALAÏA, highly sort after items that you can’t find anywhere. Definitely a privilege to have such a little treasure on a small island. It will be my first stop every time I visit!

Paul E — Google review
I had a staff member who was extremely rude to me and my friend. He called my friend fat and told her to go lose some weight if she wanted to shop there. He also told me that the pair of shoes I was looking at didn’t have my size but I was familiar with the brand that I was looking at as I have plenty of items from that brand and knew that certain shoes they had run smaller and which ones ran bigger. He also tried to force me to buy a purse that wasn’t even my taste in style after I specifically told him I prefer simple and then also made a no so great look at me when I said a certain color was not in my style either. When we first walked in, we were not greeted and seemed like they did not want to help us because we looked “average” and not “rich”. Extremely terrible experience.
Casi N — Google review
Loved the store, the location, the friendly staff and the prices. Bought some great CL shoes for my husband and me. We were on a family vacation and enjoyed our visit. Thank you!
Eileen V — Google review
We were made to feel uncomfortable, we were followed round as soon as we got in there unnecessarily. My girlfriend went in with the intention of purchasing a pair of louboutins but were not left alone to browse at any point. I don’t appreciate having my personal space invaded whilst shopping and therefore you lost a sale. We will most definitely not be returning.
Michael C — Google review
I, like most ladies love fashion but for me, I shop anytime, any place...whilst anywhere! As a new visitor to Mykonos I was wandering around enjoying the beauty of the island on a sunny day in shorts and t-shirt. I walked into Enny Monaco and not one 'assistant' said Hello not even in Greek!!! I had a look round, nothing jumped out at me apart from a pale blue ruffled shirt; I looked it over for a minute or so and not one of the 'assistants' found the time OR, it advantageous to them to explain the fabric, designer or anything that would encourage me to buy it...even if they did I wouldn't have!!! Matogianni is a bustling street in Mykonos Town, offering an array of fashion boutiques, restaurants, and bars. Visitors can explore high-end shops like Ergon for Greek-made labels and indulge in local almond cookies at nearby bakeries. The area also boasts cultural attractions such as the Archaeological Museum, featuring archaeological collections from ancient Delos. Matogianni Street is a must-visit for designer boutiques and charming Greek souvenir shops.
Beautiful street, classic Greek cobblestone and architecture, breathtaking scenery, blue doors on white buildings, and plenty and plenty of shopping. Some tourist traps for sure, be Mindful. But everything was such a great experience walking through the town on this shopping road.
Devildman — Google review
Welcome to the heart of Mykonos Town—its iconic shopping streets! This winding pedestrian maze, often centered around Matoyianni Street, is a paradise for boutique lovers and souvenir hunters. Lined with whitewashed buildings, bougainvillea vines, and cobalt blue balconies, this area offers more than just shopping—it’s a full-on experience. You’ll find everything from high-end designer labels and handmade sandals to local art, jewelry, and quirky gifts. The streets are narrow and cobbled, perfect for slow strolls and spontaneous detours. Don’t worry if you get lost—getting lost is part of the fun! Every corner leads to another charming view or hidden café. Most shops stay open until late at night, so it’s also a great after-dinner activity. Don’t hesitate to chat with shopkeepers—many speak English and enjoy sharing stories about their crafts. If you want authentic souvenirs, look for small shops with local goods rather than mass-produced magnets. And if you’re hunting for a perfect Instagram spot, this is it. The mix of sunlight, white alleys, and vibrant details makes every photo pop.

Nestled within the heart of Mykonos town, Matogianni Alley is a hidden gem that captures the essence of this enchanting island. My wife and I had the pleasure of wandering through this picturesque alley early one morning, when the streets were blissfully empty. The absence of crowds, a rare luxury given the popularity of the location, allowed us to enjoy our walk at a leisurely pace, savouring every moment. Matogianni Alley is steeped in history, its narrow, winding paths a testament to the island’s rich past. Originally a hub for local artisans and traders, the alley has retained much of its old-world charm while seamlessly blending with contemporary elegance. The whitewashed buildings, adorned with vibrant bougainvillaea, create a stunning contrast against the clear blue sky, offering a feast for the eyes at every turn. As we strolled along the cobblestone pathway, we couldn’t help but marvel at the array of boutique shops, each offering unique treasures. From handcrafted jewellery to exquisite textiles, the alley is a shopper’s paradise, inviting visitors to take home a piece of Mykonos. The quaint cafes, with their inviting aromas of freshly brewed coffee and traditional Greek pastries, beckoned us to pause and indulge. Nearby, the iconic Mykonos windmills stand as proud sentinels overlooking the Aegean Sea. These historic structures, dating back to the 16th century, were once vital to the island’s economy, grinding grain for local consumption and export. Today, they serve as a picturesque reminder of the island’s agricultural heritage and provide a perfect backdrop for photography enthusiasts. A short stroll from Matogianni Alley brings you to the Mykonos Folklore Museum, housed in a charming 18th-century mansion. Here, visitors can delve into the island’s cultural history, exploring exhibits that range from antique furniture and historic photographs to traditional costumes and nautical artefacts. It’s a must-visit for anyone eager to understand the heritage that has shaped Mykonos. As the morning light bathed the alley in a golden glow, we reluctantly concluded our peaceful walk. Matogianni Alley, with its blend of history, charm, and contemporary vibrancy, had offered us a precious window into the soul of Mykonos. It is not merely a path to tread but a journey to experience, where every corner holds a story, and every step invites discovery. For those seeking a true taste of Mykonos, away from the hustle and bustle, an early morning stroll through Matogianni Alley is an experience to cherish. It’s a place where time seems to stand still, and the beauty of the moment is all that matters.
