My favorite baby/toddler clothing store. Every time I visit Tahoe I make an effort to swing by for a gift for my nephew or friends that have kids. The owner is delightful and brings in such beautiful clothing with a really good price range, some are more pricey but she still has nice, affordable options. All of my friends have loved the gifts I’ve picked up here and if you have someone with a baby coming soon, be sure to stop by!

I was in there shopping for baby clothes with my husband for our granddaughter when I had am asthma attack and collapsed. The ladies who were working there and at the neighboring furniture store were great. While my husband made sure I was doing alright, they not only offered me a place to sit down and rest, they also brought put a fan and got me a glass of water and sweet tea. They let us stay as long as we needed. We weren't able to buy anything on this trip, but they'll be on our list to shop on our next trip to Truckee.

We stumbled across this GOLD mine and it is WONDERFUL! The owner knows all of her inventory inside and out, the store is unbelievably well put together and we were so happy to see (as Truckee locals) a great store arrive in our community! My daughter, grandson and I are so happy that we found the Jack + Emmy store in Truckee. This is by far our favorite children store in Truckee and Tahoe. I wish this store was in Oakland and San Francisco! A unique assortment of apparel and toys, plus the store is a joy to look around in. We look forward to our next visit!

The cutest store on the main street of Truckee. I was on the hunt for some unique gifts from my trip to Tahoe and I found that and some things for myself. Beautiful curation of handmade and unique things and a HUGE crafters paradise in the back of the store. The staff were also incredibly friendly. Cannot wait to come back the next time I'm in Truckee!

Bespoke is my favorite shop in Truckee for unique gifts for my friends and family. These guys carry a ton of interesting and artistic handmade items for men, women, and kids, including, jewelry, clothes, home decor, stationary, gift cards, necklaces, earrings, beard oil, candles, books, ceramic mugs, you name it!

Wow, what a cool store and what a friendly and helpful staff! I had a question about a propane adapter and the first staff member was so helpful and even brought in another staff member to help! Adaptor worked like a charm! Also, bought three of my favorite spices here with a 10% discount!

This Ace Hardware is not your typical Ace. It is larger than any Ace in the San Francisco Bay Area. Its sells just about everything you need to build, decorate, clean, or repair a house, dress and play a sport, or work with your hands. It has a full paint department, auto parts, fishing, ammo, and gardening areas. Nice selection of mountain home/cabin decor for purchase. Good selection of brand name clothing, shoes, and accessories for the whole family. And high quality, tasteful Tahoe and Truckee decor and souvenirs to bring home or buy for friends and family. Huge parking lot. Another great store to find ski and winter sports clothing and equipment for the whole family (women, men, children, including toddlers).Good sales and after season sales when they happen. Staff is helpful and does make great recommendations.

I find it hard to describe the feelings I get when I go this hardware store! Let me start by saying one would be hard pressed not to find what they are looking for at this hardware store. Hardware store being a misnomer in describing the stores category. I would dub it a General Store, Dry Goods Store, Home Decor Store, and Hardware store! The customer service was exceptional on a very busy weekend. Every MHS Team Member was helpful, cordial, and provided help with a smile! Thank you one and all for the best shopping experience in Truckee!

TRACY, is the MVP. Not to show hate to anyone else working at this location, because most of the time I’ve asked for help, everyone is willing…but needless to say, TRACY knows exactly what she’s talking about. Anytime I am having difficulty locating an item that I know is at this location, but that anyone else can’t find, I just look for this lovely lady!! She helped me tirelessly find several items, countless times. THANK YOU TRACY!!

The staff here are always friendly and helpful. This place is usually quite busy and it can be difficult to find parking on the weekends. They have a good fishing section and are knowledgeable about local fishing spots. They also have outdoors clothing and some home furnishings that one would not expect in a hardware store.

If I could give this place 100 stars I would! Literally the best place to purchase any exotic olive oils or balsamic vinegars! The staff was delightful! The whole experience was amazing! We got to sample all the flavors they offered and the flavors do not disappoint!!! The black cherry balsamic vinegar literally blew my mind! We'll definitely be back very soon to buy the biggest bottles they offer!

We had a great experience learning about and sampling olive oils and balsamic vinegars. The lady working was patient with us sampling the expensive olive oils and was happy to help us find great combinations of vinegar and oil that enhanced each other. We never felt rushed or judged and really enjoyed our shopping experience. Prices were reasonable and we brought too many bottles back with us!

Amazing store with great products! I love the body products, and they are great for my extremely sensitive skin. The olive oils and balsamic vinegars are the best around! The owner is amazing and takes people’s needs, and health/wellness into consideration. It truly is a wonderful place!

We go to this place every time we visit Tahoe. They have a variety of flavored Olive oils and balsamic vinegars, all high quality. They also have suggested pairings of the two for dressings or other cooking needs. There's a selection of other specialty good items, like flavored honeys. The staff is helpful but not intrusive. I've been very happy with my selections over the years.

Atelier is a dream and oozes charm and warmth, with an amazing selection of yarns, notions, and other crafting essentials. The staff are beyond helpful and friendly, and took a significant amount of time to research my sweater pattern to ensure I was purchasing the appropriate quantity of yarn, and then helped me find everything I needed to make my project a reality. This is my favorite little yarn shop (plus so much MORE than yarn!) that I've ever visited, and can't recommend them enough.

Eclectic gift shop merged with a fiber shop in the back. The staff do not know about the fiber, knitting, or the other crafts. Huge stock of Spincycle and some California sourced yarns. They have a very nice overall inventory.

I love this shop, but I am sad they downsized. Not as many great art supplies or fabrics as there used to be, but I still will always stop by and peruse the shop every time I am in Truckee. They have supplies I can only buy online, and I like buying paints in person to get an accurate idea of paint colors.

I had been searching for just the right singing bowl for some time and happened to stumble upon this fabulous little shop. They were so helpful and let me play the bowls. I ended up taking one small one home with me and then feeling like I was making a mistake by not getting one of the larger ones I’d seen too. I live out of state so I was hesitant about how I’d get it home and I didn’t have a huge budget. After a couple of days I ended up calling them. They were so kind and were very willing to play the various bowls again and send me pictures. I selected 2 more and had them shipped. They are so very beautiful and sound great. I know I’ll have them forever.

Visit La Galleria every time we visit Truckee. It is the best shop in town. We have bought many unique items here through the years, some jewelry, home decor items and gifts. We always get many compliments on the items we have purchased - especially the jewelry by Tomasz Plodowski!

I purchased 2 primitive pottery statues yesterday. I was told they came from an African artist collective group of tribes from all over Africa. I did not pick up the items as they were on a high shelf. When I returned home, much to my surprise they were made in China Buyer beware of deceptive practices!

I was looking for a few artists that I did not see in this gallery I really like Stellar Jewels, a Hawaii and Oregon-based jewelry artist. I also like Rebas and although I found these designers in other fabulous galleries they were not here.

We were on a very specific mission for very specific art and even though we didn’t find it, the lovely woman who was working had some really helpful suggestions for where it COULD be found. I felt the kindness radiating off of her and the experience left me feeling like it will be a great place to shop in the future.

Was gifted a set of beautiful handmade pottery coasters from this shop, and I can't wait to visit it myself soon!

They have an interesting assortment of arts and crafts by many artists. It's basically a coop. We special ordered a purse by one artist through the store and got exactly what we wanted.

Paul came out to service our older model buck stove. He arrived on time, laid out his tools and got to work. He addressed our concerns, found the issues and had all replacements parts ready to install. Paul was professional, worked quickly and made sure things were left neat and clean. He answered all of our questions as well. We appreciate his work and feel very safe again operating our unit.

Nice store for high-end mountain home accessories such as hot tubs, fireplaces, saunas, furniture, and other home decor items. The staff was friendly and helpful. The parking lot is long and narrow. Overall a pleasant shopping experience.

We purchased a sauna from Mountain Home Center years ago and recently ran into some issues, gave them a call and they had someone on hand to walk us through troubleshooting the issue and they were able to solve our issue free of charge! They were very patient and spent a half hour working through the issue. Amazing customer service so glad to have this type of support years after purchase. Would highly recommend!

This review is for the hot tub service. I had about two years of great service, but unfortunately, the quality has declined significantly in the past few months. My home is only used about 6–8 weeks a year, so it’s incredibly frustrating to have the spa out of commission during that limited time. The spa was determined to be unusable, but I wasn’t notified until four days later, and a resolution couldn’t happen for several more days. Then, just a month later, the same issue occurred again. I would have appreciated a more proactive approach—recommendations for additional maintenance or an inspection to determine if there’s an underlying issue causing these recurring problems. Rather, I was told that I was "abusing" the tub. Lastly, I was disappointed that the crew had been entering my home to access the back deck without my permission. I had provided a door code once for a cover delivery during heavy snow, but I did not expect it to be saved and shared for future use without my consent.

We absolutely loved visiting this bookstore this morning! The staff were really welcoming and very sincere in offering recommendations and their opinions on books. The books seem to be well curated and I found many I had never come across before to add to my TBR, which is always exciting for someone who visits A LOT of bookstores. Record section on lower level was also excellent. Make sure to check this out for the great selection, warm atmosphere, and kind customer service! I absolutely love this bookstore!!! They have records and anime in the basement, they have an extensive children's selection and wonderful staff willing to suggest their current favorites. Such good vibes here!

We make special trips to Truckee just to go to this store. Since Sundance closed in Reno, NV, WAW has become a solid reminder of the importance of indie bookstores and the importance of keeping them alive. Word After Word deserves more than 5 stars based on selection & customer service alone.

Darling independent book store, with lots of well chosen selections. Distinctive collection of journals and quality colored pencils and markers. Unique games and puzzles! Tea! Greeting cards! Lovely stylish and high quality reading glasses. Huge children’s book section in the back room. Downstairs area has vinyl records and bargain books. Staff is delightful. I loved being in this store! That a really big kid section in the back as well as a basement area with vinyl records and a small section of bargain books. I did not see a very large section of business books but that’s OK! We had a fantastic experience with Bluestone Jewelry, a family-owned business, for our wedding bands. My husband spent hours with the team, especially Aaron, to design his custom ring, and the patience and attention to detail were incredible. As for me, I found my perfect ring in just ten minutes right from the case, and I’m absolutely in love with it! Every time we stop by, they kindly offer to clean our rings (and give us a wine tasting), which is such a nice touch. Bluestone Jewelry really made the process special for us.

Took my watch and a broke necklace to bluestone today. The staff their are wonderful. Aaron was very helpful in repairing my watch. It had some rust and broken screws, he cleaned, replaced the battery, and ordered new screws for it. It looks brand new. The staff in front figured out a clasp for my necklace that broke. During my recent trip to Tahoe, my girlfriends and I opted for ski rentals at this fantastic spot. The service was not only swift and friendly but also significantly cheaper compared to resort/mountain rentals. An initially unnoticed detail, but one I grew to appreciate, was the personalized touch – each person in our group received ski poles with different colored handles, and our skis featured unique patterns. We are roughly the same skill level and height, which meant a few of our skis and poles were the same size. There was a little sticker that had our names on the tips of the skis, but having individualized gear made it so much easier to quickly distinguish whose poles or skis belonged to who, especially during our multi-day adventure.

I was able to get a great set of intermediate skis. They took time to find the right set of boots and gave good advice. It was super easy to return them at the end of the day as well.

We only rented a ski bib there. My son forgot his so we came to Tahoe Dave's to rent some clothes. They were friendly and helpful. Seem to have a lot of selection. We've rented skis there in the past and they seem to be a good price.

Today we rented 4 pairs of boots, two adults and two kids. I needed by boots adjusted in the cuffs. Not all rental ski boots can be adjusted. Jimmy went above and beyond to get me proper boots and adjust them for me. Five stars for Jimmy who made my day after forgetting all our boots at home 4 hour drive!

I have always rented at Tahoe Dave's and it was a great experience: the staff are always nice and know their drill. Super friendly. That's all you want from a shop. That was enough for a 5* review. Not only that, they go above and beyond great service. This past weekend we suffered an 'accident' and Tahoe Dave's were amazing. Certainly made an awful situation less sh*tty. This place is magical! I always find just what I’m looking for. This is Truckee’s vintage one stop shop. I came in looking for a very specific costume and the owner Vivian had a bunch of choices already picked out for me and then we looked around for more options and made the perfect costume! Another woman came in looking for a vintage spring dress and we all helped her find the exact right thing, it literally popped out of the rack to her. We had the best time trying stuff on and modeling for each other. If you are looking for costumes, vintage, retro, thrift finds, jewelry, accessories, props or anything unique this is shop!

Vivienne is amazing, the store is full of trinkets, clothing, and beautiful items. I’ve spent hours there just looking at everything and trying things on. My favorite vintage clothing store, maybe of all time, and vivienne is just so kind. Plus she has an adorable dog that sits on his own chair.

I’ve driven by the front side of this building 50 times and never though much about what lays inside, but we needed some last minute outfits for a disco themed dance night. Once you round the corner and step inside, it’s a wholllllllle amazing world. Easily the best vintage store I’ve ever been to in the world, Viviane’s got such an incredible eye and eclectic taste that we spend nearly two hours giggling and astounded at the options we had to choose from. Viviane was an incredible help is sussing out options, pulling accessories, and clearly knows every item in the store from front to back. Couldn’t have imagined having a better time. And we got compliments on our outfits (and dancing) all night long :)

Oh my dear! I had driven past this place a hundred times and never noticed that it was there. WELL! I finally noticed the sign along West River.i drove onto the store property and before I left my car, I was in love. I did leave my car and the sweetness of this place was only surpassed by the owner, Viviane. She is fluent in the language of vintage and knows the story behind each of her items.. there is a lot to take in...it is the kind if place where you never see all her wonderful merchandise, even if you spent the whole day in Vivian's Vintage Heaven.

We love this store! We will be visiting Tahoe next month and were saying we need to visit the store. My husband said hopefully it’s open, so I googled and read a couple of awful reviews of people wearing masks inappropriately or trying to come in with no mask. So sorry they felt inclined to leave negative reviews. They should be respectful in your store and have some common courtesy. You must feel vulnerable during these times having guests coming in and out of the store. Thank you for staying open and hope you can continue to operate safely, as long as everyone does their part. The last time we were at your store, we had our two little ones with us and the ladies working were extremely kind to them. In fact, the customer service is SO amazing, that when my daughter yanked the ball off of my favorite snow hat, the woman there offered to stitch it back on. They also allowed us to leave our purchases there while we went to lunch. When we came back my hat had been repaired perfectly and when I went to pay they said it was on the house. You don’t see that kind of care and generosity at other stores. Thank you and we look forward to our next visit so my husband can get some of your high quality flannels and thermal shirts. I’m sure I’ll find something great too!

Whenever we are in Truckee I take the time to visit Carbona's. This small shop has a unique variety of offerings in both men and women's clothing. This trip I left with a sheepskin leather jacket that is quite stylish, high grade material and a reasonable yet expensive cost ($475). I know that this is the going rate for goods of this quality from having price these jackets over the last couple of years. They also carry men's pants, t-shirts, dress shirts, men's hats, jackets, etc. I find the staff here to be quite friendly and helpful without pressure. Recommend you visit.

As someone who lives with somebody who is immune compromised I understand the importance of masks. That doesn't excuse the rudeness of one of your female staff. My husband wears a gator over a surgical mask and this lady came at us telling us to leave the store. We asked why and she said what my husband was wearing wasn't appropriate. Had she done it in a nicer manner we might have shown her that he had another mask on underneath the gator, but her attitude made us not want to give this establishment our money. Following mask mandates is something we should all do, but reacting in the manner she did was NOT conducive to welcoming new business.

I am hesitant to post given that we are living in an odd world where everyone is trying - I think. I love the small town charm of the shop and the quality, brands and selection of the clothing. Unfortunately, due to the customer service of one of the women, my husband and I won't be shopping there anymore. There was quite a scuttle over the "ill-fitting" mask that I was wearing as I was making my purchase. A simple conversation could have been more effective. As an intelligent person, I'll be transitioning to the n95 masks just as soon as they arrive. Thank you.

I was in Truckee with my wife looking to shop around, and upon entering their store, they immediately pounced on me and asked if I could please put on a mask. I was confused, as I was wearing a neck gator covering my nose and mouth. I responded that I was wearing a mask, the overly aggressive woman than clarified that I needed a medical grade mask. I was very confused and I had not been aware that was a law in Nevada County. Turns out it’s not. I happily left the store as I would not want to support a business that treats potential paying patrons that way. Take your money else where as they do not deserve it.

As I walked into their store I was asked to put my mask on I said okay. The older sales lady was on my heels scolding me because I did not have my mask on when I walk in the door. As I'm putting my mask on she is on my heels tipping at me. She then proceeded to tell me that my mask is not high enough on my face. Let me just say she was Furious with her eyes flashing. She told me to leave the store. So unless you really want to go there which is not all that great with a lackluster of product, it's not worth the embarrassment that she calls me in front of people. She needs to retire and not offend people. I'm sure there's other people that needs a job that would be customer friendly.

I absolutely adore their dresses. They’re not only adorable but also reasonably priced for the area, in my opinion. Moreover, the quality of the materials used in their clothing is commendable. The staff at the front desk is incredibly welcoming and helpful. I particularly enjoy their friendly small talk during check-out.

I just discovered the cutest boutique while I was in town! The girl working there was so sweet and helped me find the perfect dress for a wedding I’m going to next week. They had so many adorable pieces in store—I’m already looking forward to coming back next month! 10/10 Highly recommend

Owner was rude, especially to my child. Not a kid friendly store. Also not much of a children’s consignment store. Everything in the kid section is full price and new save for a few pieces of clothing. With the attitude of the owner, if I’m paying for new kid stuff I’d rather go to a cuter store with better things. Rather drive a couple more min and shop at the cute euro kid store with super kind staff downtown.

If you’re hoping to consign unworn 6-12m clothes here, I’ll save you some time: don’t bother. - They aren’t interested if your child doesn’t wear “name brand” baby clothes. - They’ll scold you because it’s after 1 pm. (It was 1:45). - Then, if you try to just donate the one item that they pick out of the small grocery bag you brought (thinking that would save them time and be a nice gesture) the manager will tell you that you should take it to the thrift store down the street. Oh and to top it off she added, “I only picked one item out of the bag to be nice. We actually wouldn’t have taken it.” Why was this comment even necessary other than to be rude and hurtful? Funny thing is, I had been there the week before just to browse and purchased some items for myself, but after this experience I won’t be back to consign or shop for anyone in my family there ever again.

I love this store! They have the best stuff. I needed a birthday present and was there on vacation. They had a lot to pick from. The people were so nice.

Great little store for gently worn baby & kids clothing. There is also a nice selection of new educational & STEM toys, such as Melissa & Doug, stuffed animals. What I also like there is also a great selection of kids consignment ski clothing and accessories. Mountain Kids Consignment is connected to Echo Blue, a women's clothing and accessories store. So, it's nice to look for good deals for both me and my kids at the same time!

Such a great resource here in Truckee. With Truckee kids needing a new wardrobe with each season, we are in and out of here year-round. We can always pop in and find great treasures like a Patagonia puffy for the baby, roller skates for sister, a sundress for mom, hilarious socks for friends. The new toy section is great for the pre-birthday party shop and the kid room in the back with the ball pit is a favorite with our little guy!

They have fake Michael Kors bags. It is illegal to sell counterfeit items (whether you acknowledge it or not). You are violating federal copyright law. My wife bought one (without knowing). When she called to ask to return it, they refused. Will not be going back to this store.

I’ve gotten quite a few great pieces from the Cooking Gallery. I could spend hours in there looking at all the amazing cookware and baking pieces they have. HIGHLY recommend this store if you’re touring downtown Truckee or a local to the area. The owners are the absolute sweetest people and they have a wonderful staff.

Check out this fully stocked kitchen store. You name it, you'll probably find it here. On this visit we purchased a tortellini pasta making kit and some whole bean coffee. I'm sure we'll be back to try something different to experiment with. Come check them out. Another business is getting ready to occupy the 2nd floor, so you'll have two floors to browse.

This store is incredible!! They have the most high-quality versions of truly everything you need for your kitchen. I often come here looking for something random I think I'll need to buy online, but they always end up having a way better version that's made to last. Highly recommend supporting this local business next time you're looking for new kitchen items or gifts for loved ones!

We love this shop and visit it every time we come to Tahoe, for 30+ years. The newest gadgets, beautiful well-made merchandise, and a so friendly and knowledgeable staff. I look around my kitchen and count the many wise purchases over time, both functionality and beauty.

Got some holiday shopping done here and asked if they did gift wrap. Our gift came back in a box with beautiful wrapping paper and a bow! Extremely friendly people, clean, covid-safe. So many good gift options for cooking lovers.

My daughter and i each have a gorgeous necklace bought as gifts from the store for us by one of your locals and we have taken them home to Australia and the comments on the colour of them is so lovely. MoJoZoe is my dream come true in Truckee. I found this gem after meeting the owner through mutual friends. You can find anything from basic layers, Spring / Summer dresses to the perfect Jean Jacket. They started out in jewelry making, so their selection is unique and beautiful. The best part is that everything is affordable. This place is a must visit for all of my out of town friends.

Incredibly cool place and even cooler employees. Impeccable vibes and service. The gentleman who helped us was the former owner and he was incredibly knowledgeable. He said that he’s helping out part time to make sure the new owner feels comfortable. Having someone with that much knowledge and experience as a “mentor”, that little place is going to be in good hands.

Love the Pour House crew! The wine club is an excellent deal and the tastings are always fun. We’re so lucky to have this historic venue as a place to build community.

This place is fantastic. Dean knows as much as anyone I've met about wine from all over the world, but if you're not a Truckee local, don't go here. Sure, he has great wines, beers, and cheeses, he's fun to talk to, his prices are good and he can help you pick what you'll love, but really we would like to keep this just to ourselves. So, if you go, and you're from out of town, maybe just don't tell anyone else about this great spot.

Such a great place. Their wine selection in amazingly carefully curated, and they feature wines of a much higher quality that you would expect. I have yet to find a bad bottle here. They also let you buy a bottle and drink on site with no corkage or buy a glass. Amazing!

The only place I’ve found in the north lake area to carry a diverse selection of reasonably-priced wines. Lots of European and other non-Californian stuff! Unusual bottles; super knowledgeable couple who runs it. I just call them, give them an average price I’m looking for and a few words about recent bottles I’ve enjoyed, and swing by later to pick up my case. So happy I found this place!

I love the Pour House. The owner and everyone at the tiny tasting bar know their wine. The tasting selections are always eclectic. And the $10 selections are unbeatable in Truckee- what,you really want to spend your money at Safeway on generic mass market wine? No way - go to pour house.

My wife likes the croissants. The coffee stand always smells great and the fruit and vegetables are always fresh.

Prices are crazy expensive this year! $54 for salmon, 41 for halibut! Fruit and veggies also hard to afford. Produce is good, but so pricy! I thought the whole point of a farmer's market was that you got fresh produce cheaper by eliminating the middle man! Very disappointing. Maybe it's all the wealthier peeps who live here now.

Nice market. South side of Truckee, up the hill near a park. Plenty of parking though you may need to walk a bit if its busy. No dogs or smoking allowed. Many produce vendors. All had traditional fare, but some had heirloom varieties. Everything appeared to be organic. Large assortment. Also had some arts and crafts vendors and food trucks. It's only open 1 day a week. So look it up before you go.

This was my 1st time at Truckee’s Farmer’s Market. I didn’t know what to expect. It’s not a large market & the produce are fresh & unusual: red torpedo onions, red basil, plump heirloom tomatoes & whatever in season. Food vendors also looked inviting. Specialty item VENDOR in particular was: Calolea Olive Oil (California Extra Virgin Oil). A small family farm located in Northern Yuba Sierra Foothills town of Loma Rica. The vendor offered tasters. I purchased a dozen assorted flavored oils. Great gift items.

Probably the worst thing you want to find halfway through eating a pre-made strawberry shortcake a whole day before it expires UPDATE: I followed the instructions that safeway had replied to my comment with. On their website someone reached out and They asked me details so they could prevent this from happening in the future which I happily supplied to them. They reached out to me via email and ended the email with "Should you require further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at your earliest convenience, and we will be more than happy to assist you." And asked me to do a 20 second survey. I replied with "can I at least get a refund for the shortcake???" And they never replied over a week later. PLEASEE do not shop here. Im beyond annoyed

I’ve been going to this Safeway about 2 days a week for years now. I’ve had a few staff be rude to me here and there but never this bad. I’ve done returns (for bad food) before with no problems. I went last night to return some shelf foods that were individually packaged but the box was open. We have allergies to the food and brought it back. The manager was so rude and very disrespectful saying she refuse to return it because she couldn’t resell it. There should be no reason I should have to keep the product and waist money for buying something I’m trying not knowing I’m allergic to the product. It was also within the return policy I am returning it and there is no where that says they will not return it because they can’t resell the product. I complained to customer service and I still haven’t heard from the managers or anything. This is very disappointing.

Great store! Clean, well organized, well stocked. I visited this Safeway about 7:30 PM on a Tuesday evening. I hesitated to shop at this time of day for fear that what I needed would be gone off the shelves. I was so pleased to find every item on my list! I am a huge fan of the Boar’s Head deli meats and cheeses so I headed there first. The darling young woman who helped me was pleasant and energetic and cheerful. The bakery items looked inviting and delicious! The floral department had a great selection of cut flowers as well as beautiful arrangements. And lots of fun balloons! Produce looked so fresh and well stocked. The strawberries were sweet and juicy. We made shortcake with the bakery angel food cake. The grab and go section had lots of appealing options too. I was excited to find the chocolate hummus I love! Also, oftentimes checkout lines are very time consuming at Safeway, but I was able to get a self checkout quickly and be on my way. All in all I liked this store!

Was shopping for DoorDash the cashier Mona was complaining about her break not being on time and was not focused she did not scan all of my customers items and blamed me for it when I had put the stopper behind the five bread items as another customer was behind me I called DoorDash support to try to get the mistake fixed but it was not resolved the customer missed out on her bread items at the store missed out on the sale as well as my customer left me a bad review. Was a very poor experience as a contractor will not be spending my money here for a while after the last few interactions with management and this cashier and yes I filed a complaint with cooperate.

Large, clean, and well stocked Safeway in a central and convenient location, near the I-80 freeway. Wide selection of bakery goods, meats, vegetables & fruits, seafood, and hot deli items. Large parking lot makes it easy to find parking.

Absolutely horrible employees. I stopped here to get dog food while hiking, and sat down to feed my dogs. Manager comes out and says I'm not allowed to camp on property and had to leave immediately. Yet there were people sitting for hours in their RV and vehicles and people standing around drinking coffee and talking. Discrimination at its finest, they should just post a sign that says no homeless, even though I literally own my own house they discriminated against me simply because I had a hiking pack. Absolutely horrible people and I thought this was a progressive loving city?

The front end manager is a stuck up lady who harasses loyal customers and refuses to admit when she is wrong needs to be let go I boycotted this location for a year I’m low income so I know my thousand dollars I spend on groceries isn’t a lot but I chose to go to other locations for over a year I recently started going back most of the staff here are amazing and kind but this review isn’t for them it’s about one stuck up lady LISA she has accused me of stealing I was raised not to steal from people or company’s I have also previously worked for this store she claims to have footage(hasn’t shown her so called proof) so I guess I’m left to boycott this location for another year. On a previous experience she had pushed herself aggressively at my wife who has a disability that make it hard for her to even feel comfortable to go out to do shopping but yet this disrespectful over perfume soaked bad perm hairstyle lady had the audacity to say everything was fine today and I said yeah I guess everything could be if you can apologize for accusing me of stealing last year. The situation she claims I stole sounded more like a misunderstanding and less like theft I grew up poor dumpster diving with my mom to gather enough cans to pay bills so I’ve dealt with posh prissy people making assumptive accusations and judgments about me but I’m sick and tired of her every time I’m come into the store she leaves her post(usually she’s at self check out I’m sure that’s all she can do.) to shadow me around it’s outrageous and disgusting I have now filled a complaint with corporate and will be advising all my friends to not use this store until she either writes a written sincere apology or gets let go. Someone who is a manager should know how to de-escalate situations not escalate them it’s a shame that she won’t do any actual work there are so many better people who would excel at that job. Edit: I did reach out and have yet to receive a call but have been pulled aside by the store director and told “you need to treat my employees with dignity and respect.” Even though I am always nice to the employee I am friends with 8/10 of them or have good rapport with them.

Hardly needs the rating and review here. Once you try Grocery Outlet, it becomes your first stop when shopping. Sure, there are things that you won't find there. But they will win you over with the high quality and low prices they do offer. The savings are astounding. We love the produce selection and quality.

One of the nicest Grocery Outlets I’ve ever been to, but the employees make it worth the while. Every time I’ve been in, the nicest woman rang us up. Otherwise, they have a decent selection but it’s always hit or miss at Grocery Outlets I’m general. Pretty subpar beer selection compared to the rest, but I’m willing to look past that. Really good produce section, and pretty okay everything else. Now enjoy some photos of the aisles I took.

I try to find a Grocery Outlet wherever I'm traveling. Their stores are great places to get food and snacks for the road or for the trails. The location in Truckee was clean and well stocked. The cashier was very polite and engaging with customers.

pros: not super crowded, free bagging, friendly staff, Good prices. fun offerings. cons: you can't always count on everything you need for a recipe.

Great addition to the Truckee supermarket landscape with really good selection of quality items ranging from grass-fed beef to organic maple syrup to Mexican and Asian condiments to basics like coffee filters, soap, cleaners, etc. Excellent prices on cheeses and household staples --- quite a number cheaper than at the nearby Save Mart. Very friendly and helpful staff encountered during two visits in opening week.

This is the friendliest, most helpful Grocery Outlet Store. It’s always my first stop for shopping.

We were in Truckee from out of town and had to travel without our elderly dog. TTPL was wonderful to work with from initial contact via email. Quick response back confirming reservation and answered all my questions. At drop off, they were so gently with our old Copper. He walked away with the staff member and was perfectly content. Highly recommend the friendly staff and wonderful facility including the outdoor play area. Would definitely use again if needed.

Well staffed, clean and flexible hours. First time for my puppers being boarded. Very positive experience, would definitely board her here again.

TTPL takes wonderful care of my dog every time I visit. I used to have anxiety about leaving my dog behind on trips, but with the Pet Lodge I rest assured knowing that my dog is being well cared for and adorned with affection. They have an incredibly well thought out care facility that is built to accommodate so many different type of pet-needs. E.g. they were able to apply a warm-compress several times daily to my dog's eye to relieve him during an episode of an auto-immune disorder. If you're looking for reliable and consistently positive levels of service in the greater Tahoe region, look no further than TTPL.

My dog loves going here. They love my dog. Bought the 20 pack of visits and it's very affordable at $35 per day this way.

We had to leave town last minute for a funeral and this boarding facility welcomed us with open arms. Their customer service is very friendly and accommodating. Our dog boarded there for about a week. Seemed all well and good til we picked up our pup. 3 concerning things happened during pick-up, 1. Our dog appears to have lost weight during the stay (looks like she lost maybe 5lbs, she is a ~55lb dog) 2. We called to check in on her half way through the stay and were given some reassuring comments about how she was doing. We asked to buy one of the bully sticks from the lobby and give it to her, adding it to our tab - however when we checked out there was no record of this. 3. We left her with a toy, bed, and blanket for her stay - They returned the toy and found the bed after a second look. They could not find the blanket. They called us back after we left and told us she destroyed the blanket during her stay. It seems odd to me that this was not in the notes at the time that we checked out. What additionally is strange is that destroying a blanket is very out of character for our dog - she is only interested in toys that have a squeaker. The blanket was a $100 Pendleton all wool blanket which adds a bit to the suspicion as it would be difficult to destroy and they have no pictures of the destroyed blanket. Might use them again for day care but with regards to boarding we’ll be going back to Rover.

This place is pretty pricey, but I feel so comfortable leaving my pet here. It's worth the money to know she is being cared for. She has stayed here twice and was remembered from the first visit. Staff is very friendly and the facility is clean. Much happier having her close to home rather than having to take her to Reno. Easy pick up and drop off.

I’ve read many good reviews and personally visited the lodge and decided this is a good place to board Koda.. I was gone for a month and wanted to find the best place to board him, on Facebook constantly looking for his pics and emailing staff asking how he is doing. They all said good things and staffs were wonderful when I met them. However, I picked up Koda today, he looked like he lost a huge chunk of weight (6-9 lbs) within a month, I can see his ribs walking and he feels so boney. I was heart broken and when we got home, he was glued to me and would not let me out of his sights. I was charged about $2.4 k for a month and for a good package with 3 playtimes. I really don’t understand why he is so skinny and malnourished…. When I asked the staff why he got so skinny, she just told me that because he has a lot of playtime… I don’t think so.. that makes me uncomfortable. Koda is my baby, it hurts me so much to see him so malnourished, and he would always eat anything and non stop. This is not our first boarding. He has never came home like this. I hope this place would give me a better answer and improve the system. UPDATED 03/28/2023 Cassidy (from the pet lodge) has reached out a day after I posted the review and was willing to pay for Koda’s vet fee and check if he is unwell. Koda’s exam came back perfect other than being underweight (lost 8 lbs in total after the stay) After a lengthy discussion with Cassidy, she was concerned and changed the pet lodge policy for every pet that stays longer than 7 days needs to get a weight check to prevent the same thing from happening again, and afterward I requested some compensation for Koda’s stay and we agreed on refunding $400 out of $2.4K. I’m glad to have talked to Cassidy and she was proactive to make changes to better observation on these long term pet’s nutrition level. I’ve changed my review from one star to four star!

Super cool store just outside downtown Truckee! They had everything from camping gear to a great footwear wall. Huge sock assortment!

At the end of last ski season, I purchased a pair of ski pants on sale from Tahoe Mountain Sports. They still had the tags and had never been worn. Fast forward to this season—I’ve lost some weight (a good thing!), but unfortunately that means most of my ski gear no longer fits. Remembering the positive experience I had last year, I returned to Tahoe Mountain Sports excited to invest in a whole new ski wardrobe for my week on the slopes. I asked if I could exchange the unworn pants, still with tags. At first, the gentleman at the counter said yes, which made me hopeful. But in the next breath, he informed me it was past 30 days and that all sales were final—no exceptions. I was told to “sell them online.” While the staff were kind and polite, I think there’s an opportunity here for the team to think more like business owners. A simple exception—especially for a loyal, returning customer—could have led to a much larger sale and deeper brand loyalty. Instead, I left with a bit of disappointment and bought only what I absolutely needed elsewhere. Great retail is about more than policies—it’s about people and long-term relationships. I hope this feedback helps spark a little conversation internally about how flexibility and empowerment at the counter can create more meaningful customer experiences.

Tahoe Mountain Sports is hands down the best place for your outdoor gear needs! Aidan was incredibly knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help me find the perfect gear. His expertise and passion for the outdoors made the whole experience enjoyable and stress-free. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area.

Rented backcountry ski gear from Tahoe Mountain Sports and had an awesome experience. The staff was super helpful and made sure everything fit and worked great. Gear was in excellent condition and they gave me solid advice on where to go based on conditions. Definitely renting from them again—highly recommend!

From my first visit last fall when they helped me find my now-favorite Altra Lone Peak 8s, to all the help shopping for socks, gear, and all the many different layers a person needs for the weather here.... I've never left Tahoe Mountain Sports unhappy. Super grateful for this place!

This shop is great. I suddenly got plantar fasciitis for the first time, so I went looking for insoles. They had a big selection and Cassidy helped me find exactly what I needed. She also had a ton of other knowledge about gear options and treatment for my foot pain. This shop has a big gear selection for a ton of other sports, including excellent PT/rehab tools. I will definitely be back to this shop.

Great shop, great selection, very knowledgable staff. I bought their end of season demo WNDR Vital backcountry skis a couple years ago with the Phantom wax and they're still my favorite backcountry skis. If I ever have friends visiting town that need to rent backcountry gear this is the shop I take them to. I always hit their Labor Day tent sale as well. If you have the pleasure of working with Aidan you're in good hands.

The entire staff was wonderful! So incredibly kind, knowledgeable, and generous. They provided plants for a veteran rebuild in the Dixie Fire burn scar, and couldn't have asked for a better experience working with a nursery. Go see them! You won't regret it.

Villager Nursery is an extraordinary nursery if like a huge selection of beautiful plants that are proven to grow great in this area! Eric Larusson, the owner, has several degrees in plants and it shows. His selection of native, unusual, and hard to find plants is amazing!! April was very helpful and knowledgeable also. We drove an 1.5 hours to get there and it was well worth it, I will be back soon!!

This place was very nice. Conveniently located off the main drag it was easy to find. They had little wagon carts to load your plants onto. The selection of plants was so wide in variety it was amazing. They had alot of plants suited for the area to tollerate the cold and the animals. I initially was just popping in to look and before I knew it Id left with a variety of spring and summer flowers and some mountain strawberries. The staff was very friendly and informative and very helpful and all the prices were very reasonable. Ill definitely be back for more and tell others as well.

I looked far and wide for a specific maple cultivar that grower JF Schmidt introduced recently, and struck out until I called them up! Eric was willing to put some of this tree on his yearly order even though I hadn’t purchased yet, and it was unknown if this cultivar would be very popular in a mountain environment. I picked up my tree from them today. Eric was wonderful at pointing out some basic tips that would apply to growing it in the Central Valley. Was really glad I called them up.

The staff at the nursery are super helpful. The owner, Eric, is one of the most knowledgeable botanist I’ve ever met. He knows every area of Truckee-Tahoe and can tell you exactly what will grow in your micro climate. They carry a wide variety of native plants and trees.

The only place to go for buying plants when you live in the Truckee area. The staff are so friendly and have so much knowledge. The plants are healthy and the range is specific to growing in our area.

Went in with a 100 dollar voucher I had won at a silent auction for charity. Employee, nice guy, verified that the voucher was legit (I knew it was since I bought won the charity silent auction) but he nor the owner would honor the voucher. I told him I had drove all the way from reno but he didn’t seem to care and only offered me 10 perfect off an item in the store. Bad business decision - being a small business owner myself. Over 100 dollars they lost my future business and this negative review. The prices weren't that good - I would take the nice drive to Reno and go to Ben’s and beat their prices and selection.

Price gougers! I would like to support a local business, but as a rational consumer, it does not make any sense to pay a 40% premium. You're better off going to Safeway down the street. At least they won't rip you off.

Love the store. It's not a huge place like Total Wine, but it doesn't need to be. The owner knows their stuff. Each different section has quality options to choose from. All kinds of alcohol and good beer selection as well. I enjoyed the single craft brews in a can I could try out as well.

Impressive range of spirits, and they proudly stock South Fork Vodka, a beloved choice among locals. Happy these guys are back!

What a great shop. Beautiful displays and friendly help. Good selection of bourbons as well. I really appreciate that these folks jumped through the hoops required to provide samples. Highly recommend stopping by. They even gave me a bag of local coffee beans with my purchase!

Wonderful store. Incredible variety. Toys, board games, huge selection of puzzles from 5-6 publishers, art and crafts and Lego as well as a variety of dolls and toys. In a day and age of Amazon, this store rocks! Very helpful staff.

The asked me too leave my bag at the door so I did but they still followed us around and watched us. The guy even went as far as to stand outside and watch us after we left.

INCREDIBLE WORK - VERY SLOW / NO DELIVERY - gave diamond ring in August - still waiting in December for repair Lorien did an incredible job designing my engagement band and wedding ring. We think she's a genius. That said, the diamond (a family heirloom) fell out of the engagement ring she designed for us. Thankfully we found the diamond. She agreed to fix it - in August. It is now December. We are still waiting. Unfortunately, we no longer live in Truckee but visit multiple times a year. This has made us think this relationship would be able to continue over time and distance. That said, after multiple attempts at communication (email, phone - her mailbox is full...) we are losing trust in Lorien. We strongly encourage all future clients to make an agreement with her to receive your valuables back (honestly, with some sort of verification certificate) - with a time-bound, penalty-based approach. Lorien, if you read this - please contact us. We have emailed you multiple times, called (as mentioned, your vm box is full and you can't receive messages...) We are happy to update this after this case resolves. I would very much like my engagement ring back. Even if it's not fixed - it's been long enough. UPDATE 1/13/25: Heard back from her immediately after posting this, responded to her email - and then have heard nothing. Have asked her to send ring - her voice mailbox continues to be full. I have no idea what's going on with a ring (my wedding ring) that she designed, that we left with her at the end of August....5 months ago. Will update y'all once the ring is sent.

After a design meeting with Lorien on Aug. 11 I went in today and picked up my old pieces. After 2.5 months of promises no progress. I am sad. I love her jewlery but it was not going to happen. I really don't know why. Lorien is talented and nice. False promises!

Very cute store and clothes 5 stars. Horrible customer service 1 star. Several people working. 3 people shopping not one person acknowledged me or anyone else shopping. I even tried things on. I bought something, had to wait for one of them to notice I was waiting to purchase in which case I finally got a smile and thank you.

Cute, well-priced clothes. Horrible atmosphere. I would’ve loved to have taken the time to walk through the store and put some outfits together as the very first thing I looked at was an adorable skirt in both my size and within my budget. Unfortunately, the music was so loud, aggressive and vulgar that I seriously could not imagine staying that long. Several glances at the gal behind the counter told me I would get no help from her- she never even made eye contact- just stared at her phone. So sad as I am on my way to Brussels for a week and there were tons of cute looking items that would’ve been great to bring along.

Super cute clothes! but unfortunately really rude customer service. Granted, a Busy time of year and a good sale, but the person organizing the clothes was shockingly rude and seemed extremely stressed and unable to handle that there were 15 shoppers in there who were looking through clothing. I’ve never left a review anywhere ever, but felt i had to based on my experience. I picked up a shirt that wasn’t folded and was out of place but looked cute, and at the same time one of the girls who works there grabbed it AS IT WAS IN MY HAND, tossed it across the table AWAY from me, muttered sorry, and kept busily working with zero sense of customer service or kindness. She Had a very negative vibe, even my husband who was in there for a few minutes with me mentioned the negative attitude of one of the workers. She asked several (6-7 times in the 15 minutes i was there) to no one in particular where her phone and rosè was (yes, drinking and working was an odd thing that also was happening). I would recommend shopping online or on their social media rather than going into the actual store!

I get emotional thinking about the impact and positive influence Liv Studio has had on my life. I was in such a dark place and as soon as I started taking classes, my life has seriously turned around. Here are some of the small, but SO meaningful things that this studio does to make you feel like you’re worth it. • Instructors are SO positive during the workout • Instructors acknowledge you when you’re new and make sure you have everything for the class so you feel ready • Instructors introduce themselves to you on your first class and continue to say hi to you and know you by name! • Classes start on time • Instructors offer adaptive and modifications if you have bad knees, ankles, back, etc. • Gym is clean, hygienic, and organized • Variety of classes • There’s always parking available I could go on and on. This gym will change your life for the better! If you’re questioning whether to get a membership, this is your sign to commit to it!

Simply the best workout studio! All the instructors are so knowledgeable, attentive, and welcoming. Best part of doing pilates here is that I can trust the instructors to give me modifications that work for my body, and feel safe pushing myself to the limit without the fear of injury. Kelley has created a beautiful studio! I have been taking Les Mills group fitness classes for several months at liv and absolutely love it! I was hesitant to get back to working out in a group environment post baby, but Kelley made me feel very comfortable and welcome. Her space is very clean, the equipment is new, and all of the instructors are great! The energy and friendly atmosphere of liv studio is a wonderful addition to Truckee!

I was grizzled... To a point. However past the point of grizzlement, my experience was partial at best.

I was incredibly disappointed with this store. We made a special trip based on Google's information that they were open until 6pm. We arrived at 5:15pm, only to find them closed already. This was a complete waste of our time and extremely frustrating. They need to update their business hours accurately.

Great store to get all the stuff you need for a wardrobe update. I’ve bought some pieces for my partner and even for myself! This is now my go-to in town.

Literally my favorite store in downtown Truckee. The woman I met was so kind and helpful, there are a lot of cool finds and secondhand designer items for a bigger budget. It's easy to find beautiful dresses, coats, shoes, and bags, for a reasonable price.

Every product feels like it’s made with so much heart and care. Dorinda and her team are absolute gems! I am personally a fan of the olive oils (Tuscan Herb) and the Wolf Pack chocolate bars. My clients are always thrilled when we share Dorinda’s treats, and our team is equally hooked! It’s rare to find a company that blends such incredible products with genuine passion and kindness. Dorinda’s has truly become a favorite in our world, and I couldn’t recommend them more highly!

What a lovely shop. We were offered a chocolate sample as soon as we walked in the door. I ended up buying a gorgeous basket/tote bag that I did not need.

Sweets has a better pricing, atmosphere, and has good taste. Also animals in a food establishment is a health violation.

Wonderful gift store! They have so many unique things! I found a wonderful handcrafted wooden map of the national parks which has little pine trees that can be placed on the map to show which parks have been visited. It was such a unique map! I love it! Highly recommend if you're looking for a great gift!

I was looking for some coasters to give as a gift and LAKE Gift Shop had a great assortment. I found just what I needed. They have a great diversity of gift items including works by local artists.

This delightful gift shop is not common in South Lake Tahoe. It carries many interesting, innovative/creative, and fun items. And, most all the merchandise are either local to the area, or from the United States. So, one is supporting American-made items, as well as a local business. The proprietors are fun to chat with and very helpful, too. L.A.K.E. Gift Shop is in the Target Center and easy to access from Hwy 80 or from the nearby Marriott resorts. Worth a visit!
