Natural history museum
The Algonquin Park Visitor Centre, established in 1993 to commemorate the park's centennial anniversary, serves as a comprehensive resource for visitors. It features captivating exhibits on the park's natural and human history, including a theater presentation that narrates the park's story. Additionally, visitors can enjoy amenities such as a restaurant, bookstore, and an observation deck offering stunning panoramic views of the landscape.
Great place to visit to learn about the history of the park in a nice and comfortable setting. They have a movie show every 20 minutes showing the history of the park over the ages. There is a museum with nice artifacts showing the various animals that are inhabitants of the park. There is a cafe where you can self-pay (cash jar) to get some basic vending machine type snacks. Restrooms are right at the entrance and are well maintained. There is also an art gallery near the entrance with many beautiful pictures of landscapes and animals.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Must-stop for first-time and returning visitors alike! The Algonquin Visitor Centre is incredibly well done — clean, welcoming, and packed with helpful information. The exhibits are engaging and educational, showcasing the park’s wildlife, history, and natural beauty. The panoramic lookout is breathtaking, especially in the fall! Staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the small gift shop had some great local finds. Whether you’re new to the park or a regular explorer, this place gives great context to appreciate Algonquin even more. Highly recommend stopping here before heading deeper into the park!

This visitor center is pretty nice and worth taking some time to explore. Inside, you'll find a gift shop and a small exhibit that showcases the park's local wildlife and plants. The staff are friendly and helpful, so it's a good place to spend a little while.

This is one of the best visitors centres we have seen in national parks anywhere in the world. Excellent exhibits, a great 12 minute video on the park, excellent BYO eating space, great views. What a terrific day we had at Algonquin PP.
Bill R — Google review
A must see for anyone going to Algonquin. There is a trail, a look out and great historical museum-type walk through. Additionally, a gift store and bathrooms, along with an honour system snack and drinks seating area. Pretty much go once a year and we love it.

The Algonquin Park Visitor Centre is truly a gem! I was seriously blown away by the beautiful museum inside – it has some of the best wildlife exhibits I've ever seen. They're incredibly detailed and just spectacular. I honestly didn't expect to find such a gorgeous and well-preserved place that tells the whole story of Algonquin Park so thoroughly. If you're visiting the park, this is a definite must-stop!

History museum
The Algonquin Logging Museum offers a captivating journey through the history of logging, from its early days to modern forestry management. Visitors can start their experience with a video presentation that provides an overview of the area's logging history before embarking on a 1.3-kilometer trail featuring outdoor exhibits and replicas of logging camps from different time periods.
Such an amazing place to visit in Algonquin! Start with their video presentation, then take the trail to “Visit the Past.” You’ll learn so much about history and the logging era. The trail is beautiful, quiet, and peaceful — a perfect spot to enjoy nature. It’s also interesting and educational for kids!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Great glimpse into Algonquin’s logging history! The Algonquin Logging Museum offers a really interesting and well-presented look at the park’s early logging days. The short trail is easy to walk and filled with life-sized displays and information panels that bring the past to life. The recreated logging camp buildings were a nice touch, especially for kids or anyone curious about how loggers lived. It’s peaceful, educational, and doesn’t take too long to explore. Lost one star only because a few displays could use a bit of maintenance or updating. Still very much worth the visit if you’re in the park!
Zankar H — Google review
My first visit to the logging museum was a delightful experience! The scenic trail, which took about 35 minutes to explore, is packed with fascinating information boards—perfect for those who love to dive into the details. The well-curated exhibits offer a wealth of knowledge about logging history, and the charming souvenir shop adds a nice touch. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable and educational outing that I’d recommend to anyone!

The Algonquin Logging Museum is a fascinating and well-presented glimpse into the park’s history. The walking trail is easy and scenic, with engaging displays and life-sized exhibits that bring the story of logging to life. The museum does a great job of combining nature with history, making it enjoyable for both adults and kids. A must-visit spot if you’re exploring Algonquin!

A fascinating glimpse into the area's rich logging history. The easy walking trail is lined with life-sized displays, old logging equipment, and informative panels that bring the past to life. A great stop for history lovers and nature enthusiasts alike.

I had a great time exploring The Algonquin logging museum, the path was well guided and the whole area was quite idyllic. Each site had a corresponding bit of literature in the guide book that’s available at the start of the loop. It was a great tour, with a wealth of history! Shoutout Richard!
Yo1No2 — Google review
The Algonquin Logging Museum is surprisingly fun! You start by watching a 14-minute introductory film, and just when you think it’s over, the doors behind the screen open to reveal a trail that takes you through the history of logging in the area. Walking the trail and seeing the exhibits along the way makes the whole experience really engaging. A neat little gem if you’re curious about local history!

Great history lesson on film before venturing out on the trail to see the structures the loggers lived in and the machinery that evolved over time. Great experience

When visiting Algonquin Provincial Park, don't miss the Algonquin Art Centre, located at the former Visitor Centre on Found Lake. This world-class art gallery showcases Canada's top wilderness and wildlife artists, with new works displayed annually based on a theme. The centre also features a boutique and an information centre. It's a hidden gem often overlooked by travelers rushing through Hwy 60.
I was thrilled, as a sculptor to see my friend's artworks and hear how wonderfully they and other artworks were explained. That is a treasure! There was no pressure to buy, it was really would you like to know these artists works? Refreshing curator/director! We spent more time than we thought we would, will I go back? Most certainly...and buy!

Beautiful setting in the middle of Algonquin Park. The paintings are a lot of Group of Seven like style landscapes. They have a little store with some interesting things to purchase. Great place to go on a rainy or cold day when camping in the park. There's no charge but they ask for donations on entry.
Karen A — Google review
This art gallery is excellent, featuring a great collection of Group of Seven paintings. The artists used to paint frequently in this very park, which served as a significant location for their sketches. Many of the works inside are fantastic and truly capture a Canadian style, including some realistic pieces. The paintings are available for purchase, but they are quite expensive. Still, it's definitely worth a visit to see them up close, even if you're just looking. Just remember that no photography or video recording is allowed in the exhibition areas.
J Z — Google review
Visiting the art center is always a part of my park visit! Being inspired by the scenery on a hike or a drive, and then appreciating how others have been inspired by the landscape to create, is a highlight of every trip. I’m so glad the gallery has reopened, the renovations look beautiful

I LOVE having this art studio/gallery/gift shop in the Park! I stop in several times each year and keep informed via their newsletter. As an artist myself- this venue is so important to me and it wouldn't be a visit to Algonquin Park without it! Go and see the amazing art for yourself- seeing artists interpret the sights will broaden your appreciation for the nature and wildlife that the Park has to offer!
Andrea M — Google review
Looks like a great art gallery. There is a gift shop inside too. There had been a Cafe but it was closed. I liked all the art prices on display but they are pricey as their looks too. Also there was a canoes with murals made by a project, Canoe Mural project and they were pretty. It is a good place to rest and enjoy great art work and also you can use their public washrooms which were very good.

Absolutely bliss - Fall colors 😍 P.S. restaurant there is a Big NO.

A very good place to visit, beautiful natural views all around, with plenty of spots to sit and enjoy the scenery. Although it’s more crowded compared to Opeongo Lake, the atmosphere is still relaxing. The food court, located in the middle of the park, was convenient. A bit pricey, but worth it for the location. Overall, a nice mix of nature, amenities, and a lively environment.

Great spot for rentals, canoeing, relaxing walks, restaurant to have something to eat and picture perfect. Canoe Lake is a lake located in Algonquin Provincial Park in Nipissing District, Ontario, Canada.[1] Canoe Lake is a major access point for many canoeists entering Algonquin Park as well as being home to many cottages. Important to note is that Canoe Lake is situated on the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, specifically the Chippewa, Ojibwa and Potawatomi peoples, under the terms of the Robinson-Huron Treaty #61 of 1850, and the Williams Treaties of 1923

Canoe Lake is absolutely breathtaking. The water is calm, perfect for canoeing, and the views during sunset are unreal. I spotted a loon and even caught a glimpse of a deer near the shore. Peaceful, clean, and a must-visit if you’re in Algonquin Park. Highly recommended!

Beautiful view of the lake from Portage store. Fall color has started. We wanted to rent a canoe to enjoy padding, but it was a windy and cold morning that we decided not to. The staff I spoke to was very friendly and helpful for information.

Our camping trips to Algonquin always ends up here as it’s being our favourite activity to end the journey. Prices got higher compared to last year but still an amazing option. There’s a little island in the middle of the lake, if you would like to rest a little in the middle :)

Terrible experience having lunch here before heading back to the city after a 5 day camping trip. Upon first look the prices were outrageous, and the quality of food was giving mid/you can make this at home. The quality was terrible. I should also note the fries they give you as a side were different from the fries for a poutine. It was soggy, mushy and not done well. Where I had an issue and what prompted this review was the service. I had ordered a toasted BLT with fries (1/5- the only thing good was the crispy French fries) and chicken tenders with a side poutine (1/5 - was given 3 little chicken tenders, with a small side portion of poutine that they up charged $5 for) at 12:50pm and did not receive the food until 1:30pm, almost 40 minutes later is INSANE. I had a feeling that they had forgotten my order when my friend who ordered a poutine got it before me, and the others who had ordered after me began to receive their food. I noticed the girl who took my order was watching my friend input the “tip” option and did that to me as well. I put no tip because you are not serving me. Not sure if this is at all correlated but it was incredibly strange to me. To wait almost 40 minutes for food that takes less than 8 minutes to make is insane and really pissed me off. I wish I had gotten food elsewhere. Also- the kawartha dairy ice cream outside has different flavours than the inside cafe. I really wanted Muskoka Mocha as that is my favourite flavour but this flavour was only inside in the cafe and I had already gotten so aggravated that I did not want to go in. Terrible terrible experience- avoid this place at all costs unless you are desperate and have money to burn.
Nikki A — Google review
Stay Away!! Price Gouging to the max!! We ordered chicken fingers and fries and it cost $28!?? The fries were super stale, the chicken wasn't even good at all. Terrible quality and not worth it. I hate that people still continue to go here with the garbage quality food because as long as they are getting business, they won't care about service, quality or price gouging. Their excuse is that they had to raise their price due to cost of food over the last few years. Are you kidding!? There are restaurants that don't charge a ridiculous price for less than mid-level food. Again, Stay Away!
Robert S — Google review
Been to this place multiple times over the summer and the service/food quality is consistently terrible. Today, $27 for two ice creams and two americanos. I received a cracked ice cream cone that they would not replace. They don’t offer options to pay for just a single small scoop for a baby or dog-this is silly considered the volume of families and dogs that come through. So, they lost business from me because I’m not paying $7 for a tiny scoop of vanilla for my dog. My americanos were forgotten about-they’re always understaffed so this is a management problem and less a reflection of the server. Once she finished them, instead of walking around the counter to hand them to me at the coffee station she left them for me at the cash, meaning I had to squeeze by multiple other guests. The flow of guests and overall setup is nonsensical. As well, the cold brew I received from another visit was disgusting and the coffee is consistently weak. If your family needs refreshments, get them before you head into the park. Prices are outrageous as well. I notice the store comments on Google reviews saying the price of food has gone up since the pandemic-yes this is true but their prices are still insane when compared to similar country cafe and grill stores. Disappointed.
Abby K — Google review
The prices are high but the food and services doesn’t match the cost. We ordered nachos which were very expensive and there was hardly any cheese on them. The meat tasted dried out too and they didn’t give you enough sauces to go with it. They also should carry a kids size poutine and other kid meals that aren’t so huge and costly. Lastly, we ordered ice cream blind. What I mean by that when I say I ordered ice cream blindly is that they covered the ice cream refrigerator so that you cannot see the flavours you’re selecting from, Rather, you must refer to laminated signs on the wall, which really doesn’t help in the ice cream selection process as most people select their ice cream visually not by a description. It takes out the fun of going for ice cream if you don’t get to look at the ice cream and point of the one you want. As a result, my daughter chose an ice cream that she thought sounded good, but really it wasn’t her cup of tea and I blame them for that because she couldn’t see it visually ahead of time. They refused to let her switch. She only took two bites out of it and they would not let her switch. I feel for the price we paid satisfaction should be guaranteed. It’s not like we ate the whole ice cream and asked to switch. We also ordered a sundae and the strawberry sauce was tart and watery.
Brad J — Google review
The food is super overpriced for what it is and how how you're treated. The food was very meh, cold, and made us sick. The facilities unavailable. One of the girls in our group does not eat pork, and she mentioned this over and over, and somehow still got a big honking piece of pemeal bacon in her burger. Our fries were cold, all 4 orders, despite the restaurant being busy. The bathrooms were closed for cleaning for over an hour, though it became obvious that they just closed them so they wouldn't have to clean them again at closing time (we were there about 1hr 15 min before close, the bathrooms was closed when we got there, and they never reopened). 2 of the 4 of us got stomach sick afterwards. No, we will not return. Ever.
Raquel R — Google review
The food is served hot, tasty and fresh. There is a large menu of burgers, sandwiches, wraps and sides to choose from. The prices are high. Pretty much $20 for any combo and you save $1 opt out of combo. The bathrooms are atrocious. Go in the woods, you'll be better off. The bathrooms look abandoned. Last picture. The overall valued experience here is Low.
Justin G — Google review
My husband and I along with friends of ours, have made Lake of two rivers our go to place for beautiful camping experiences. Along with that,we always enjoyed going to the cafe and restaurant for tasty meals and ice cream. Very convenient! On this particular visit, we were shocked at the prices posted for most of the meals. The prices were even raised while we were there for a few days! We were very disappointed and will not be returning, sadly. We will drive to Dwight and enjoy the sights and the food!!

Nestled in the serene Algonquin Park, Killarney Lodge offers a rustic and all-inclusive lakeside retreat. The cozy cabins come with private docks and canoes for guests to explore the breathtaking surroundings. The warm hospitality and attention to detail make for an exceptional experience. With delicious meals, Aveda bath products, and thoughtful surprises, this gem of a lodge provides excellent value for a relaxing nature getaway.
Personable, focused on details and Michelin level food experience. My wife and I had seen the Killarney Lodge sign for years while camping in Algonquin park, this was the first time not camping and decided to stay here. From the greeting to the private cabin, the available activities to the perfect meals, I can not say enough about the service. I even learned one can walk-in for a lunch or maybe breakfast and dinner without staying, I wish I had known this when I was camping. The staff go out of their way, way beyond what they needed to help. If you are looking for a great experience for a big family get-a-way or a couples weekend, search no more, call them.

The place is stunning! Very relaxing and the food is amazing. The staff is very nice and welcoming. Except for one lady named Kim, who made us feel uncomfortable as Asian we felt that she is racist. The room is clean and excellent except that the fan is not big help on a really hot day.

Just spent three wonderful nights at the Killarney Lodge. The location was perfect to experience canoeing and hiking in Algonquin Park, with the comfort of returning to the cozy cabin each night. The meals were excellent and the convenience of a boxed lunch daily and supper delivered to our private deck was appreciated. We will not forget the sunrises and the sounds of the loons anytime soon.

We have been enjoying our anniversary dinner at Killarney Lodge for years. The food is amazing as is the service and atmosphere. This year we stayed at the lodge. The location and accomodations makes for a perfect park experience. The staff are very friendly and go above and beyond to make everyone's stay as enjoyable as possible. They included everything that we wanted for maximum comfort like self serve coffee, tea and fresh baked cookies in the lounge cabin. Overall all experience was like a warm hug.

Staying at Killarney Lodge for 3 nights was one of the best & most enjoyable things I’ve ever done. It was beautiful, perfectly located, relaxing, and all the little details of the property and the cabins made the stay feel that much more special. Exceptional service and we left probably 15lbs heavier than when we arrived due to the amazing food. Cannot recommend enough!!

Wonderful resort. The nature here is pristine and strikingly beautiful. Lovely team of staff members makes you feel like family. I stayed at one of the duplex cabins which was clean and comfortable and had a lovely dock with a canoe. You can swim off your dock or at the private beach. Two Rivers Lake is motor boat free and had no seaweeds. The water was very warm over the July 11, 12 2025 weekends and very clean. The food was fantastic, including 3 course fine dining dinner and a-la-carte breakfast and lunch. Please keep in mind that Kilarney Lodge and other lodges of Algonquin are not liquor licenses but you are welcome to bring your own alcohol into your cabins and into the restaurant and the team will provide proper glasses and bottle openers. Also, unlimited bottle water, soft drinks and snacks (chips, etc) is available anytime from the paddle shop free of charge during your stay and there is a coffee and cookies station. I truly recommend Kilarney Lodge.

Love the water taxi service here! Gets me and my Kayak out to where you want to go, when time does not permit any other way to get there. Well ran, very helpful people and an absolute world of beauty surrounding. Some shots from my recent paddle..more on Insta. Thanks for the lift!

We were so happy to have this option to rent a canoe and a kayak for a couple of days. The price was reasonable and the service was excellent. It is so nice and convenient to have the dropoff right at the beach of the campground we stayed in. The staff were kind and helpful. Everything we needed was included. We had a great time using the canoe and kayak to explore around the lake and rivers. I would absolutely rent from Algonquin Outfitters again!

Friendly and very helpful staff. We rented a two-person canoe for a total of 8 days because we were unable to bring our own boat on our September trip to Algonquin. A couple of days in to the trip we chatted with the young lady about possibly trying a different boat as we are quite tall. They brought us another type of boat the next morning and it was great! Thank you so much!

Canoe rental worked out well. Prompt with delivery times. Equipment was in good working order. Slightly more pricey then the other rental companies. Staff knowledgeable with the area and approximate times for day canoe trips. Everyone was Pleasurable and easy to deal with, from the person on the phone booking the rental to the girls dropping off and picking up the canoes. Thank you Algonquin outfitters for making our camping more enjoyable and giving us the opportunity to canoe. CS

Great, friendly and helpful staff. A good store beside the rentals, great selection of canoes and they offer canoe lift carry service to portages. The lake is bigger than it looked on the map, pretty clear. Great campsites all over

We had a great experience with Algonquin Outfitters canoe rental! Rental online was easy and quick, the price was super reasonable for an 24 hour rental and service in person was wonderful. We were able to explore Lake of Two Rivers on a beautiful Swift canoe and will definitely be renting again on our next visit. 🛶😊

We took the taxi boat 15 mins up to the start of a 3h trip on kayaks with the kids and it was fantastic. No mooses at this time of the year but beautiful nature. The taxi boat lift took us to a small island and then off we went. And we were able to swim when back on the island. It was ‘not cheap but worth the experience.

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. Beautiful, peaceful location. Great friendly staff. Comfortable king bed. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the entire property. The restaurant, open only 8-11 am Wed-Sun, served delicious breakfasts. The waitress was wonderful. The hotel staff was very helpful - we had trouble with the DVD player in the room and a staff member came immediately to fix it.

Family run business with friendly proprietors. Very nice grounds with plenty of nature to enjoy. Rooms were simple, but clean and well maintained. On site restaurant (breakfast only) is nice and has a great view. Plus free use of kayaks and canoes on their small lake. Truly a lovely place to stay for a family or couple.

We enjoyed our stay here. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The property was beautiful, very well maintained. This resort has a very calm area for kayaking and paddleboards. I liked how there were not any boats to watch out for while kayaking. The only complaint would be to replace the older bedding. It looks like something my great grandmother would have. Clean but dated. We had a great time and I would return.

Nice little motel to stay at. Very friendly staff. Rooms were extremely clean. The lake is small, but still nice for swimming or floating around. Lots of fish and turtles and wild life to see in the water. Property is well maintained and AC worked really well in the rooms. Would definitely return.

A gorgeous little inn right on a tiny lake. We were a little worried when we first arrived as it looked fairly old, but the rooms were great, had everything we needed, and were so clean. I don't have a single complaint. Easy access to the lake, we had kids and they handled them well, and we had access to their cables, kayaks, and beach. It was wonderful.

Nice place to stay, close to Algonquin! We went over the October 1st holidays. The colours were in peak season. The rooms were well equipped and service was fabulous! I'd return.

It's very peaceful and beautiful place, especially with the lakes and nature surrounding it. There are several options nearby for outdoor recreation and enjoying the natural beauty of the Spring Lake Resort in Muskoka. The rooms are clean, stuff is very friendly and the breakfast is amazing. I will definitely come back here again.

We had a great time at Spring Lake Resort! We chose it for its proximity to Algonquin Park and private lake access and were not disappointed. There are canoes and kayaks at the lake that you can use for free which was fun! The rooms are simple but charming and the owners were super friendly and helpful! Thanks again :)

They offer high-quality gear for camping and canoeing, making it easy to plan a trip. Customers praise the excellent service and competitive rates for renting canoes and other equipment. Additionally, they offer a winter camping program that's well-organized and stress-free, perfect for those interested in cold-weather adventures.
Camping with Robin, Chris, and Wade is like camping with old friends, if your friends were experts in all things outdoors and brought all of the gear for you. Their outfitting is top notch and all gear is high quality, no-nonsense and well cared for. Their winter camping program is well organized, fun and stress free and I can't recommend it enough; if you are thinking about trying out a winter trip, this is the way to do it for sure! Algonquin Basecamp is also the best place to rent boats for your spring, summer and fall adventures. Thanks AB crew for a great weekend!

Rented 2 canoes for a 1 week backcountry trip. Had a small list of last minute things we were not able to bring on our flight to canada and Basecamp had everything we needed and more. Staff was extremely friendly in person and over the phone (called beforehand to ensure the trip plans were safe enough for our group) Will definitely go through Basecamp again if I plan another trip starting at an access point that they deliver to.

Loved renting from this location. Easy to chat with over the phone or email about your trip and very knowledgeable! Our 3 canoes were in great condition and the bear barrel with harness worked great. Recommend getting delivery too

I rented canoes and canoeing gear from Algonquin Basecamp for a portage trip, and Robin was incredibly organized and responsive through email. The canoes were delivered directly to Access Point #3, with everything perfectly arranged and clearly explained.

Had a great experience renting from these guys. I rented a solo canoe, had both canoe & kayak paddles. After losing half my kayak paddle on a dam crossing, they were very understanding and the replacement price was more than fair. They gave me great advice regarding which solo canoe to use, and I'm thankful for their experience and knowledge. I'll be returning to them any time I'm tripping near their store again.

The team at Algonquin basecamp is absolutely top notch. We had a tree limb fall and damage both canoes we rented and they immediately provided replacements even delivering 1 in the back country for us. Thanks again for all your help and ensuring that we had a great stay in the park. I highly recommend Algonquin basecamp and will definitely be using them again in the future.

Awesome family-run shop. The owners were very friendly/easy-going and had lots of advise to share with our group. We rented 4 canoes for a portaging trip--it was a zero-hassle experience and the canoes (H2O Prospector 16′) were excellent, super light and easy to paddle. Would definitely return.

My family and I have been renting canoes from Algonquin Basecamp for about ten years now. This family run business is second to none and go the extra mile to ensure we have a great trip every time. They have even taken it upon themselves to call us a few weeks out from our trip to let us know about river conditions and if we would prefer to adjust our route. 5/5 stars everytime!

The Portage Outpost in Algonquin Park is conveniently located near Barron Canyon, Achray Campground, and Lake Travers. They offer a wide range of services including canoe, kayak, and stand-up paddle board rentals, equipment rentals, delivery and transportation shuttle service. Additionally, they provide accommodation options, camping facilities with showers, food supplies, gas refills, trailer dumping services as well as storage.
We booked the Featherlite canoe with Portage Outpost. We made an error in delivery of the conoe. We were staying at the lake of two rivers campsite but since we selected the wrong option the conoe was dropped off at the east beach site. When calling the office the amazing girl helped getting the conoe and supplies to the camp area in no time. I will mention the service was impeccable. I will surely book with them again.

Rowan was a brilliant guide: knowledgeable and skilled. Our family learnt so much from him - he seemed to have infinite understanding of the natural environment and the history of Algonquin. He taught us novices much about canoeing as we enjoyed exploring the beautiful surroundings. Such a unique experience. The stunning views and general experience make it a must for all adventurous souls. We’ll take these memories of the Canadian lakes back with us to London. Philippa, Simon, Noah & Raffi

Thank you Rowen and the team for an incredible experience! We did the oxtongue tour with Rowen (who was very good at guiding us throughout the day and answering our questions as first timers), would recommend and hope to do it again in the future!

If there is an easier business to be a customer of I haven't found it. I ordered a canoe rental online and the process couldn't have been better. The canoe was dropped of at my Algonquin Park starting point and was exactly what I ordered. The staff were super friendly and helpful when I called to confirm a few details. I can't wait for my next Algonquin Park backlake canoe trip and I'll be sure to rent here again. Well done!

Simon gave us an amazing tour of whiskey jack bay, Tom Thompson cairn and popcorn island. Whiskey jack was so serene and still. Simon had a great knowledge of the entire area and really livened up our lunch and tour with his friendly and enthusiastic attitude. Will definitely come back again!

We rented two H2O canoes from them last week for five days. One of them was leaking from the start on and the rear air chamber had a visible cracked seal. Bummer, because we didn't know if it'll get worse and always had water in the boat. No apology and nothing. Wouldn't rent there again. UPDATE: After my complaint we've received an apology and a discount from Vincent at Portage Outpost. Thanks and hopefully everything will work better the next time!

Treetop Trekking Huntsville offers an exciting outdoor adventure for all ages, allowing visitors to explore the forests in a unique way. Participants can climb through the trees, swing from ropes like Tarzan, and zip through the canopy on thrilling zip lines. The courses include wooden bridges, cables, and various obstacles that provide a challenging yet enjoyable experience. It's recommended to wear closed-toe shoes and bring bug repellent due to the trek to the location and presence of mosquitoes.
My kids and I had a really great time here. The course is in great shape and the safety system is excellent. A big shout out to the staff who went above and beyond to help my youngest who had a hard time with one of the zip lines. One of the staff members even took him on one of the easier courses to help build back up his confidence. It was really appreciated!

We had a great time at treetop trekking. The staff were awesome! The courses pushed us to trust ourselves mentally and physically!! Will definitely be going back!!! 100% recommend to everyone!!!! We went with a group the youngest was 18 and the oldest in our group is 70!!!!

Great experience. We did all six sets of challenges and the 5th one (moose) was definitely the hardest. We felt completely safe with the equipment, instructions and knowledge of the staff. If you want an outdoor workout and challenge, Treetop Trekking is a great choice.
Jeanette B — Google review
We had a great time at Treetop. All of the staff seemed happy, friendly and talkative. The property is pretty nice and it's relaxing to be up in the trees in the forest. The zip lining is definitely the best part. As long as you follows all the rules and listen to instructions, it's very safe and I wouldn't worry at all about it. Seems good for kids as well, we saw family's with all ages.

Loved it!! So fun. It was super hot but it added to the adventure. Not easy to do and I highly recommend it! I'd go again, several times.
Lyne S — Google review
Call before you go to make sure they are open! I'll explain: I checked their website and Google listing before making a long drive to participate in the trekking with my family and it was listed as open. Other families with young kids were leaving when I arrived Upon arrival the staff member informed us that the business is closed to the public for three weeks due to summer campers. I asked if they could squeeze us in and they said no. It is possible to put on Google Business "temporarily closed" or ammend hours so that the public can easily see that it is not open for them. I encourage the managers and owners to solve this problem for the remainder of the summer and future seasons. I look forward to trying again next year and I will call first.

Went with the family and some friends on the side-by-side ATV trek. Amazingly fun. Driving the ATVs through the forests was a blast. Lots of mud due to the rain this year. Our guide Mike was awesome. Very knowledgeable and made the ride very fun. Would do this again for sure!

We did the private 3 hour canoe tour with Andrew today and it was definitely one highlight of our trip. Andrew greeted us at the lake at 6.45, and even provided some amazing Danish pastries for us. At this time we were the only ones out on the lake and it was so peaceful and quiet, we absolutely loved it. He was also the best guide and gave us some interesting information on the history of the lake and the animals around. If you ever visit Algonquin you should definitely add this tour to your itinerary!

We did the 3 h motorized canoe tour and had a wonderful time! In the private tour we had the perfect mix of enjoying the calm nature and engaging in conversation and learn about the lake and the national park. The experience was very well prepared and Andrew did a great job as our tour guide! I totally recommend the tour in the early morning on a weekday, we nearly had the lake to ourselves.
Janina Z — Google review
What a superb experience. So picturesque and peaceful. The VIP canoe trip with Andrew was such a treat. Very comfortable seats, gliding all around. He answered all of our questions. However, I would’ve preferred a prepared history, flora & fauna narration throughout the trip. If we did not ask questions, there was silence. Overall highly recommend and all the great reviews on the yummy sandwich from Henrietta‘s are valid. Possibly the best sandwich we ever had! What a great outfit, full of sincere, motivated and delightful young people. Highly recommend but make your intentions clear upfront regarding learning about the park, history & nature … if that is what you desire.

We've had a so great experience with Enzo during our 3-days trip in Algonquin park. He gave us very clear advices and guided us through the park with awesome information and stories. The weather was also fantastic. What a great adventure canoe-camping in Algonquin park. Thanks again Enzo, good job man!

We have just finished the three-day canoeing+camping tour in Algonquin Regional Park, starting at Canoe Lake. We were a group of three, including my 18 year old son and myself, plus fantastic guide Enzo. As a 66 year old in less than perfect physical shape I was a little concerned upon starting but all was OK and it is quite accessible to people with just normal levels of fitness. The park is fantastic and canoeing to the most remote lakes (Tom Thompson and Littledoe were my favourite) without difficult portages was just great. Very impressed by the camping sites, they are just what you need, minimal level of management so you feel safe and comfortable and yet a nice remote nature feel. Very many thanks to Enzo for sharing his deep knowledge of the park's geography and biodiversity and so many interesting chats! All in all great, heartily recommended. For us Europeans, exactly the Canadian experience we were looking for!

The people from Algonquin Bound were super helpful, me and my friend Laura came with literally nothing and they helped us out so much! They were also friendly and even made a bonfire for us and set with us talking for hours. For them, it’s definitely more about hospitality than about making money. We really enjoyed our stay!
Anna G — Google review
Coming from Ottawa, the team at Algonquin Bound made our canoe outing seamless by coordinating between our check-in at the East Gate store and meeting our guide who brought over all the gear and provisions from the West Gate store to the departure spot. Our guide was knowledgeable and enthusiastic about sharing historical insights on the area. We're looking forward to our next trip!

Incredible three day guided trip and two-night stay at their lodge. Paige and Alec put together an incredible three-day, two-night guided trip from Rock Lake to Lake Louisa. My group won this tour from the Friends of Algonquin 2020 raffle. The team was very hospitable to us and made us feel right at home. The trip was very well planned. Alec's expertise assured us of our safety; it was my group's first time canoe tripping Algonquin. So though we weren't complete noobies, Alec was patient with any fumbles or lack of skill on our part. Camp was comfortable. All the gear was clean, dry, and functioned as expected. Paige's meal plan was awesome! She even packed individually bagged snacks to keep us alive during the brutal portages. We also spent two nights at the lodge onsite. Everything was clean and well-kept. They offered full use of their barbecue and fire pit in the backyard. I'd come back in a heart beat. Thanks again Paige and Alec!

Greeted by Jake who gave us pointers due to the wind conditions on Cedar lake. He ensured we had all the gear and safety in mind. Upon return guess who greeted us??? Jake. Nice operation of caring individuals.

What a great adventure: we spent three days in the Algonquin park with Voyageur Quest Outfitting. Whether you're planning a family vacation, a gathering with friends, or a romantic getaway, this retreat is perfect for all occasions. The friendly owner, Erin Morlock, along with her dedicated team ensures every visitor feels welcomed and cared for.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights, mid august, we were in cabin 3. It was perfect for the two of us. Erin, the owner, immediately greeted us as soon as we arrived in the parking area, walking us to our cabin while explaining about the lodge, area and our cabin. The views, the tranquility, the very clean and well stocked cabins were just as other reviews had stated. Staff were wonderful, they kept the lodge and area clean and tidy. We loved our own deck that overlooked the lake, where we could sit and have a beverage or where we played some games of scrabble at the table set also on our deck. (games avail at the lodge for use) We ate our meals in the screened in porch, which also overlooked the lake. Canoes and kayaks were avail for use. We did a day trip to Algonquin Park. Thank you Erin and staff, great team work, making it a little piece of heaven on earth.

Had a weekend with my girls and stayed at the Birches. We were the first one to stay there this season. The resort is owned by a wonderful lady Erin who is so accommodating and makes sure your stay is a 5 star. Our cabin was AWESOME. The cabin is super clean! Everything you need is there which was lovely. They offer canoes and kayaks which are in top shape. The lodge is amazing and my girls loved it. Docks are well kept with chairs you can use. The lake is like no other, its clean and quiet with no motor boats that I saw. Its perfect for canoe and kayak. Our weekend could not have been more perfect. We wished we could stay longer. I could only imagine in the fall how spectacular it would be there. We did not venture out but lots of things near by such as Algonquin and the town of Whitney.

I've been struggling with whether to post a review for a while. We want to keep coming back but it's like a great fishing spot - you don't reveal it other than to your loved ones ☺️❤️. My friend and I spent a MAGICAL weekend last Spring at Erin's and are coming back again this Spring. And setting the intention that it will continue to be our annual tradition. The lake is large and beckons to be explored, including secluded estuaries teeming with life (great for skinny dipping also!), hiking trails within a few minutes' walk and friendly critters right on the property. Well worth the drive from Toronto!

This recent trip in 2022 was our 3rd visit to Hay Lake Lodge. Erin and her team are very welcoming. The cabins are immaculate and have nearly everything you need for cooking, etc. And if you don't - simply ask. This is a very quiet, peaceful spot with great access to the park and the surrounding area. It is always hard to say goodbye at the end of visit. We're booked for 2023!
Sherry W — Google review
Absolutely phenomenal experience at Hay Lake Lodge. Erin took us in at the last minute when another local lodge cancelled our reservation upon arrival because we brought our infant. The end result couldn't have worked out better. Hay Lake is absolutely stunning and the friendliness of Erin and her staff was amazing. If the included use of the canoes and kayaks isn't enough for you, the drive to Algonquin Park is relatively short. We had a solid breakfast delivered each morning to our cottage and there were some good restaurants in the town of Whitney to grab dinner at (shout out to the pizza place). Highly recommended for a memorable stay!

Beautiful, clean little cabin (#2), the perfect size for a couple and the screened in porch was very much appreciated. Erin was very helpful throughout our stay and made the experience even better! The lake is large enough to paddle a different way each time and not see it all but small enough for the novice paddler with me to not be overwhelmed. We were able to see many of the "local" attractions without too much of a drive including hiking in Algonquin and Bonnechere, visiting Bonnechere caves and thrift/antique shopping in Maynooth and Bancroft. We would definitely visit again.

We stayed in the lodge the last weekend of September, 2020. It was the fall color peak time in Algonquin. Hay Lake is between Algonquin PK and the lodge. The whole place was so beautiful in golden colors. Canoeing in the morning was superb. The host, Erin is living on the property and she is there for you all the time. The lodge is very quiet and clean, and has an easy access to the lake. We enjoyed our stay.

This is our 3rd visit to Hay Lake Lodges in the past 6 years. We have been to so many countryside cottages and we have to say this is the place we highly recommend. Owner Erin Morlock and her crew are super nice and friendly. If you are looking for family vacation, friend’s get-together, or romantic couple getaway, you are looking at the perfect place. You can enjoy the earful natural sounds, beautiful sunrise & sunset, quiet and peaceful moment, unlimited fishing & boating experience, and many more. Last but not the least, we would rate the cleanliness of the lodges over 5 stars, especially how they handle the sanitization during the undecremented time.

Nestled in the heart of Algonquin Park, Camp Tamakwa is a picturesque collection of wooden structures surrounded by natural beauty. The camp is brought to life by its dedicated and enthusiastic staff, who cater to both young and old visitors. Despite some facilities needing maintenance, the camp offers a range of activities and well-maintained amenities. It's not just a summer camp; it also serves as an ideal location for private events such as weddings or corporate retreats.
I only know about Camp Tamakwa from the movie Indian Summer. The camp entrance looks exactly as it did in the movie. There are no highway signs, but luckily, Google helped us navigate there. Made my day to be able to get a photo under the entrance sign!

Incredible camp with more to explore and experience than anyone could imagine. Camp Director, David Stringer, really knows a lot about the park and its history. The facilities are remarkable. Many famous people have attended and worked there iver the years. They will be celebrating 90 years! Very exciting time.

Loved the camp!! We had a 4 day retreat there and it was just a beautiful location that allowed us to disconnect for a bit. What was even more beautiful than the camp grounds, was the staff. Leslie, has an amazing team that are very dedicated and enthusiastic which shows in their work. Def. Recommend sending your kids here or doing private events I.e. corporate retreats, weddings and etc.

Great camp! The staff is awesome and the facilities are beautiful and well maintained. Lots of activities and good food with care for allergies. Kids have a lot of fun here for sure, plus you get to go on a boat to get here!

Great camp in the heart of Algonquin Park. Staff are always friendly and many have worked with our group for years. The facilities are still in need of some TLC especially the cabins but the efforts are apparent as many had new windows and roofs.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience at Voyageur Quest! Terry, Baris and Mason were fantastic guides - knowledgeable, kind, accommodating, with great senses of humour and always happy to answer questions and share stories. Baris cooked our meals, and each one was absolutely delicious. The snowshoeing and cross-country skiing were great fun, a nice mix of stunning scenery and adventure. Terry did a great job of ensuring we enjoyed ourselves safely, and encouraged our sense of playfulness while also teaching us about the land. Broom-ball was a blast, ice-skating was delightful, the sauna was sublime, and the night sky was a marvel. The whole group of guests were an outgoing and friendly bunch that made the experience a really special one. I highly recommend this adventure and would love to return again!

What an amazing incredible weekend. Voyageur staff made us feel very welcomed and special. They did everything to make our stay a great experience. Kelly and Mason worked so hard to make everything run smoothly and made sure we all had a great time. All the other staff were amazing. The chef at the lodge served delicious meals. Rob the photographer was very helpful and knowledgeable. We got to see many Moose and also enjoyed the great outdoors. I can not recommend this place enough.

What an amazing experience! The log cabin was cozy and comfy! The food was delicious! The guides were top notch! Terry had the ability to amuse you and make you feel very comfortable, Baris was an incredible wealth of nature knowledge, Jake made you feel at home in the backcountry and Tom was able to make a gourmet meal in the backcountry on a campfire grill!!!!! All of them were so professional, educated, a wealth of knowledge and gave you the confidence to enjoy the time in nature without worry. Highly recommend this trip to everyone! It will not disappoint!

We spent two very special nights at the start of September at the Log cabin and had truly magnificent time. We booked online and also arranged a private transfer from Toronto to the cabin (and back again) - all through Voyager - as we checked and couldn't see any easy way to arrive other than hiring a car. Other guests did drive there so if you are happy to drive, it is accessible by car. The cabin has no power, which was fine for my wife and I, but if your device uses a lot of power taking videos and photos, you may want to take a back up. There was lots to see on our hiking trips and paddles, as well as the amazing people we met and spent time with in the cabin on the second day. Even though it rained and we were restricted with how many paddle opportunities we had, our guides Emily and Matt (amazing, beautiful people) arranged craft activities so we got the chance to learn something new and have great conversation. The food was outstanding - truly outstanding! Dawn prepared 5-star meals, and if you like strong black coffee, you will be pleased with the offering (available from 6.30am). A great way to start the day, fresh brew in front of an open fire. Emily and Matt were very helpful with getting the whole group into canoes and paddling around the lake, regardless of experience levels. It really did feel like a family atmosphere in the two days we had, and we left with some very special memories of the place and the people that made it so magical. Well worth every minute.

I had a wonderful time at the Log Cabin, over the past 3 days we have been canoeing, hiking, swimming and learning. Led by amazing guides: Baris and Jaedan, we had a good balance between activities and down time with the flexibility to really do what you wanted to in your free time. My highlights of the trip were the Surprise Lake (and Surprise Rock!) which was easily accessible (1 min walk) down from Cabin. We also canoed to Turtle Rock (first pic) where some did fishing and others jumped into the lake followed by a proper Campfire meal with delicious food and large portions so you never get hungry. On the first evening, we canoed over to the other side of the lake and once everyone stopped paddling it was very peaceful listening to nature! The accommodation was very comfortable considering you're off-grid and everyone was very friendly and sociable so it felt like a big family - but you still had peace and privacy in your room. Baris and Jaedan were both excellent throughout, l had arrived slightly later due to public transport but immediately was greeted by Jaedan who brought me straight into the action with the rest of the group! Baris was also great with his extensive knowledge of plants and animals and of course super friendly. Would highly recommend to anyone who is into the outdoors!

Fantastic experience. The food was worthy of Michelin stars, (although I can't claim that i ever have eaten in such a restaurant)! Wonderful location. Friendly, knowledgeable, hardworking and helpful staff. The programme was well thought out and offered a variety of experiences,: walking, BBQ, sunrise and sunset canoe trips. It was the highlight of my trip to Canada!

It was a very good few days. The activities were all very interesting and had lots of variation. Lots of free time aswell to sit on the sun deck, go swimming, sit in the sauna or just socialise. The food was extremely good and varied. Terry was nice and funny and a great guide ⭐ Tom's food was top notch 🥗 Guy in the red t-shirt (Don't know his name) was very knowledgeable and friendly 🌲

Anyway the staff is friendly and fast.

The store is great. There is all kinds or purchase for camping essentials available at the store. It is a great place to get souvenirs from. The staff is very polite and helpful. The accessibility from the camp grounds is great. They just don’t have firewood, but you can get that from anither camp ground just 1.5kms away.

If you forget something when you come camping you are sure to find it here at the store. I was pretty surprised that they had everything that comes in handy in case you miss out on bringing , be it tents to sleeping bags to medicines.

No prices on most of the items, expensive, and they sell expired food. We were given expired food, brought it back and we watched them put it back out...the next time we were in they tried to sell us the exact expired food (chocolate bars).

Camp Tanamakoon, located in Algonquin Park, Ontario, is a beloved summer camp for girls aged 6 and up. With a history dating back to 1925, it offers a safe and well-organized environment where campers can build lifelong friendships and learn important life skills such as leadership and independence. The dedicated counselors are praised for their ability to create a fun and memorable experience for the campers.
Great time visiting as a family member of the camp doctor. Much gratitude, Patti, Kim, Jen, Rebecca, Paf, Glen, Hilberto, Gemma, Laura, Emrie, Crystal, Angel, Finn and anyone else I may have missed. Campers and staff were incredibly hospitable.

My daughter went to Tanamakoon for 4 years starting with Kindercamp. She loved the camp, the food and activities. However in her most recent year had a terrible experience. Her cabin mates were not kind to her, especially in the evening when she felt home sick. Since counsellors are not in the cabins with the campers this can easily go unnoticed. To make it worse in her final days of camp while on trip she stepped on something that went through her shoe and into her foot. They stayed on their camp out and she didn’t see a nurse til the next day. She was in pain and scared and had already felt isolated from her cabin mates. Overall we had been happy with the camp but unfortunatly were not pleased with how theses incidents were handled. She ended up making the decision to not return as she no longer felt safe/comfortable there.

Incredible day of fishing and experiences. Went with three generations in my family and Jay ensured we had everything we could have hoped for. His shore lunch was spectacular and the fishing was some of the best I’ve ever experienced. Very few guides can guarantee fish, but Jay can. His Opeongo Lake Guide business is as good as it gets.
