Museums
Nagoya City Science Museum, situated in the northern part of Shirakawa Park, is a seven-story building housing a massive metal sphere that hosts the world's largest planetarium. The museum offers interactive experiences such as simulating the climate of the South Pole at -32°C. While primarily aimed at children and teenagers, it also appeals to adults with its diverse exhibits on weather, biology, and electricity. Although most descriptions are in Japanese, English translations are available for some displays.
This was an interesting museum with exhibits on many sciences and how it's integrated into daily life. It's a big museum and has a lot of interactive exhibits. It was a bit overwhelming because I also got a ticket for the planetarium. Since the planetarium exhibit was scheduled and I was instructed to be there 15 minutes before start, I rushed through many areas. Most of the museum was multilingual. The planetarium announcements were in English, but the presentation was in Japanese only. It was interesting because the constellations and starmapping seemed to be different that what I'm familiar with in the west. They also seemed to focus on Australian skies, but still gave a good presentation about how the stars look from the world's perspective. From what Japanese I did understand, it was an educational presentation for older children and adults. The presentation was 50 minutes and was the best part of my museum visit. I was disappointed that the Museum Shop was closed because it was under renovations.
Sheldon J — Google review
I give it 4 stars for the planetarium!! The exhibits were a little old school, quite nostalgic of those I visited when I was in school (during the last century..) Still,a good place to whole way an hour or two! Don't bother with the show, unless you understand Japanese. It's like a PowerPoint presentation, telling the story in Japanese only. I really think the show needs an update...
Michael C — Google review
It’s an engaging and family-friendly place, especially great for children. As it was the weekend, it was quite crowded. For the planetarium, make sure to get your tickets early—otherwise, the best seats will be gone.
Taeho K — Google review
- The half of the exhibition for children: Oke, I understand this, they want more families there. - Just a few English caption: Oke, It is not too tourist friend, but I guess they want more Japanese people there. I can accept this. - They have an enormous observatory, and they show you a 50 minutes PowerPoint presentation, where a guy explain what we see on the pictures: What the hell? It is a wasted opportunity to amaze the people. It was so boring I slept through the half ( and I wasn't the only one ). You can't go out, and the best part, the "show" just 40 minutes, because the last 10 minutes is literally advertisement, where they promote their mobile app. It was a good nap, but never again.
Richard L — Google review
Loved this iconic museum and planetarium in Nagoya. The museum if 100% kids friendly, you will see a lot of families coming. The exhibitis are very interactive, and there is a planetarium with presentations happening often, which I recommend. I also attended a science demonstration aimed at children, which was very nice.
Gabriel T — Google review
Good experience from this place. This building has 7 floor each floor separate by each item of science Physic , Chemistry , Biology , Space , History and there are lab , perform in here. On the top has Planetary room that you need to reserve to go there. You can take your time on this museum whole 1 day of your weekend.
ArmRatch — Google review
Best science museum I've ever been to. Mainly Japanese so need a phone with a translator. There's also good exhibits for children and adults. The museum starts off more kiddy and progresses up floors with less exhibits for the kids.
Nathan — Google review
plan to spend a whole day at the museum. Great stuff if you have kids with you. still a fun tour for adults as well. note that the planetarium is Japanese language only. it's better to purchase ticket online as the queue for getting tickets on a weekend can be quite long.

Buddhist temple

Osu Kannon is a stunning Buddhist temple situated at the end of Osu Shopping Arcade in downtown Nagoya. Although its buildings are modern due to being rebuilt after destruction in 1945, it still holds historical significance as it was originally constructed in 1333 and relocated to its current location in 1612. The temple is dedicated to Kannon, the Buddhist Goddess of mercy and compassion.
I went here a few times during golden week. Definitely crowded, but manageable. You can try to go very early or much later in the day to avoid crowds. I love the temple and all the shopping here. At the temple, be sure to buy some incense and charms. Donate coins and pray as well if you feel inclined. Most things around here open at 10am. There's a cool morning antique market that happens once a month and we were able to explore that and haggle a bit! 🍀 I recommend the taiyaki place "Gin no An" and the takoyaki place right next to it (and the odango mochi place next to that!) 😉 Don't forget to explore the side streets, never know what you'll find.
Clover J — Google review
Osu Kannon Shrine is a peaceful gem nestled in the heart of Nagoya’s vibrant Osu shopping district. With its striking red architecture and massive paper lantern, the shrine instantly invites curiosity and calm. Despite being surrounded by bustling shops and modern life, the moment you step onto its grounds, there’s a shift — a quiet, almost sacred stillness. Locals come to pray, offer coins, and draw omikuji (fortunes), while visitors often find themselves lingering longer than planned, soaking in the serene atmosphere. Pigeons flutter around the stone steps, and the scent of incense drifts through the air. Osu Kannon isn’t just a place to visit — it’s a place to pause, reflect, and feel connected to Nagoya’s spiritual roots.
CVM T — Google review
Just take the train to Osu Kannon Station and it will only be few minutes walk to the place with it sit right next to the osu kanon shopping street. The place is not really crowded and can be a good choice for a quick stop by to enjoy.
Oui O — Google review
The place is nice, but it was really crowded. There were many pigeons, and while the nature was beautiful, there was quite a bit of droppings that made it a bit dirty. But it's okay — overall, it's still a great place.

Osu Kannon (Kitanosan Shinpuku-ji Hoshoin) @ Nagoya ⛩️📿🇯🇵 🗓️ Visited: 17 April, around noon 🚶‍♂️ Just a short walk from Osu Park and Osu Shopping Street A serene and spiritual temple nestled right next to the vibrant Osu Shopping District. As always, we stopped to pray for good fortune, wealth, and a safe journey. 🙏 The atmosphere was calm and welcoming, a peaceful contrast to the busy arcades nearby. We drew an omikuji (fortune slip) and received a chū-jō-kichi—a moderately good blessing from Kannon-sama, reassuring us that our trip would go smoothly. It gave us a comforting sense of clarity and peace. To carry the blessings with us, we also bought a protective omamori (amulet) for good luck and prosperity. 🍀✨ 🧘‍♀️ Highly recommended for a moment of reflection and spiritual grounding—especially if you’re already exploring the Osu area.

I didn't planned to go. But Shoutengai strees made me get there easily. 6/28/2025 they have frea market. Nagoya kinds. Also enjoy nearby street is good things to do. I bought 200yen candle to put.
Michiko I — Google review
Another site to visit in Nagoya is this Buddhist Temple adjacent to the Osu Shopping District. We went there late in the afternoon. The pigeons that flock that place had already gone to roost for the evening. There were only a few devotees who lingered to pray. We took some photos of the temple before leaving the area.
Travel T — Google review
The Temple is famous and seems to have numerous worshippers who would stop over for short-time worship. The Temple is essentially a rebuilt after the 2nd World War; thus, unlike most of the temples in Kyoto, the Temple's worshippers may not feel the classic style or sentiment from the Temple itself. The Temple allows visitors to donate 50 Yen to buy pigeon food and feed the pigeons in the courtyard. But worshippers or visitors should be cautious for large number of pigeons may fly around the pigeon feeder or visitor for the food immediately. The Temple is free for access and for toilets, but it does not allow photo taking aiming at inside worship hall.

Train station
Nagoya Station is the world's largest train station, offering a wide array of amenities such as shops, eateries, lodging, and office space. The station is home to various establishments like Ebizukushi and Arimatsu Shibori Bag. Additionally, located near Nagoya Station in Nagoya City, Ushiwaka is a well-established yakiniku restaurant that has been serving locals and visitors for over 40 years.
Took a day trip from Kyoto to explore Nagoya & it was super convenient - just a 35-minute ride on the Tōkaidō Shinkansen. Around Nagoya Station, there are plenty of interesting shopping malls, like Midland Square & Comtech Tower. We also visited the Toyota Commemorative Museum, which is just a 5-minute local train ride on the Inuyama Line from Nagoya Station to Sako Station. Additionally, we joined a factory tour at the Kirin Beer Brewery, which is also only 5 minutes away by local train to Biwajima Station. One important tip: if you’re booking a private tour to visit Shirakawa-go, don’t arrange your pickup at Nagoya Station. The traffic around the station is chaotic. Instead, pick up at Gifu-Hashima Station, just one stop away, where it’s much quieter.
L C — Google review
Nagoya Station is more than just a train hub — it’s a small city in itself. From the moment you step in, you’re met with a bustling yet impressively organized space where trains, shops, restaurants, and people seamlessly coexist. It’s massive, but surprisingly navigable, especially with the helpful signage and friendly staff. The JR Central Towers above the station add a modern touch, and you can easily spend hours exploring underground malls like ESCA and dining at top-notch restaurants. Whether you’re grabbing a quick bento or looking for luxury goods, it caters to all types of travelers. It’s not just a place to catch a train — it’s a true cultural and commercial heart of Nagoya.
CVM T — Google review
Another typical JR Station that is in one of the well know cities. I was only transferring there from shinkensan to JR but it was relatively smooth and easy to navigate around without any issue. As many other JR stations, it has washrooms, tons of signs and guidance in various languages on aiding tourist and shops.
Luke L — Google review
Nagoya station is very big and busy station....we came here to catch Shinkansen to get to Mishima...we spent about 2 hours in Nagoya station and there are lots of food options and different massage therapists...my wife had a good massage while I bought a very nice award winning Oyako Don in the food court....
Eric T — Google review
One of the main Shinkansen stations in Japan, one I frequent often. Massive station with many lines. Without the signs, one is bound to get lost. I usually take the Shinkansen from Tokyo-Nagoya-Tokyo. Endless restaurants with the standard Japanese fare but also Nagoya cuisine.
Sean Y — Google review
The towers rise like tuning forks; the air hums with confidence. Nagoya blends precision with warmth — technology and tempura coexisting happily. The Shinkansen pauses amid motion, proud but never loud. Tourist Tip: Major hub; transfer to JR Central Lines, Meitetsu, and subway. Visit Nagoya Castle or SCMAGLEV Railway Museum. Taste miso katsu before continuing west.
Stray L — Google review
Another poorly designed station in Nagoya—especially the Shinkansen area. I don’t understand why it’s so difficult to have a separate Shinkansen gate. Why does it have to be located inside the local JR line area? It’s very confusing to figure out the correct order to use your IC card and Shinkansen ticket. Also, be aware that for some reason, the Shinkansen ticket machines here sell the express ticket and the boarding ticket separately. This is the first time I’ve ever seen that. If you only buy the express ticket, you won’t be able to enter the Shinkansen gate. I saw many foreigners, including myself, get stuck there. Some people ended up waiting in a long line just to buy the boarding ticket. It’s complete chaos.
Wang R — Google review
A big station connecting The Nagoya city and prefecture with different lines and norikae service. It's busy working days and weekend as cheaper and convinient from usual bus service. Shinkansen is available to connect the whole Japan from quickest bullet train service. Appreciate the maintenance and station service. Many restaurants and convinient store inside. Easy to get lost as busy and crowded to follow directions. Foreigners can ask the station staff for directions if japanese language is not helpful to understand easily. Toilet inside, locker room available, highway bus stop just outside, taxi cab stoppage outside rounding on rent.

Shirakawa Park, located in Nagoya, is a lush city park featuring modern sculptures and fountains. It is adjacent to the Nagoya City Science Museum and houses the Nagoya City Art Museum. The park is a popular gathering spot with its large fountains, sun clock, and contemporary art installations. One of the main attractions within the park is the Guinness-certified world's largest planetarium at the Nagoya Science Museum.
It's nice! It bet it will be so fantastic when the peak of autumn. There's much bench so you can enjoy food. I bought my food from Osu Shopping District! By walking around 8 minutes, you can do the same~

Freespace for everyone, anybody can come to rest, anybody can come to exercise, anybody can come to picnic 🧺,etc. And i usually go to feed the birds. It's a park full of people. But, i think it is quite also and vast. I visit many times. I like this park. Love Japan. Form Nepal.

Museums
Nagoya City Art Museum is a modern and airy museum located in Shirakawa Park, just across from the Nagoya City Science Museum. Designed by renowned architect Kisho Kurokawa, the museum itself is considered a work of art. It houses both permanent and temporary exhibitions featuring contemporary art in various mediums from around the world, including Mexican Renaissance, Ecole de Paris, and local Japanese art.
It had a nice permanent exhibition. Included are Modigliani, Chagall, Diego Rivera and so on, those who are even famous to the public. It was old building but it was maintained so cleanly. I couldn’t find one single hair in the restroom.
Little L — Google review
Interesting contemporary art masterpiece, from Mexico, Via Japan, to Europe. And considering that the permanent exhibition is only 300 yen… (2500 if you go to the temporary too) is reallg worth the price
Giulio T — Google review
Came here to see the architecture (Kisho Kurokawa) of this modernist building. The art exhibits are quite amazing too. There are 2 ticket prices, one for regular entry and one if you want to see the special exhibit.
Michael C — Google review
I saw the temporary exhibition and it was FANTASTIC 🤩!! I also visited the permanent exhibition ... It's small... And you know everyone has a different vision on art (can't take off photos there)
MAK . — Google review
I was quite impressed that this building looks so new, modern, and futuristic. I think it is better compared to Singapore. I came here quite late, maybe close to 5 pm, and I didn't have time to finish looking at the art pieces before the staff started removing them one by one. So I went upstairs to look at the children's art exhibits at my Japanese friend's recommendation. I would like to come back here again when I go to Nagoya so that I can look at the art pieces leisurely.
Mon L — Google review
Not really worth it… But the Capcom limited exhibition is nice! 2500 yen for a ticket
Alem T — Google review
At the Nagoya City Art Museum, I visited Foujita’s temporary exhibit. It was interesting enough, but the experience was diminished by the attendants--each watching closely from the moment you enter until you leave the room. When I took a cough-suppressant candy for my irritated throat, I was promptly asked to spit it out. Taking photos of the information panels with my phone was also prohibited, even though printed information was not provided with my full price ticket. Oddly, the restrooms had neither paper towels nor hand dryers, so I had to dry my hands on my clothes--something that didn’t seem to draw much attention from the otherwise watchful staff.
Atanas R — Google review
Nice, cheap, and staffed with friendly people. The permanent exhibit has a nice mix of art styles that captivate the mind and make you think about art, the artists, and life. Worthwhile if you are in the area.

Fushimi Station is a well-organized transportation hub that offers convenient access to an underground shopping area. It's praised for its proximity to the Nagoya Science Museum and its cleanliness. Travelers also appreciate the station's dining options and helpful assistance, making it a pleasant stop for both locals and tourists alike.
Old sake breweries stand shoulder to shoulder with modern homes. The air smells faintly of rice, cedar, and time. Fushimi’s calm dignity reflects Kyoto’s working soul — a city that builds beauty from patience. Tourist Tip: Stop for Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum (10 min walk). Stroll along the canals where sake barges once floated. Taste local brands in small shops — warm hospitality everywhere.

Ardiansyah F — Google review
It is clean and there is a women's only car.
Uncle D — Google review
This station is really poorly designed. If you’ve ever carried luggage here, you’ll know what I mean. There are several elevators, but only one actually goes to the ground floor. The same issue exists inside the gates—multiple elevators lead to different trains and directions. If you don’t read the maps and signs carefully, it’s easy to get lost. To make matters worse, the signs are often confusing. You might have to try several times to find the right combination of elevators to reach your platform. The escalators are also poorly designed—some exits only have an upward escalator with no way to go down. Certain exits are closed at night. The whole layout feels inconsistent and confusing. Overall, this is one of the worst-designed stations in Japan.
Wang R — Google review
Convenient station where transfer of Higashiyama Line and Tsurumai Line is possible. There is a convenience store inside the station, and there is also a direct passage to the Fushimi underground mall. The difficulty is that Tsurumai Line Home is far from the exit.

Osu Shōtengai Shopping District, with a history of over 400 years, is a vibrant and historic merchant quarter in Nagoya. It's home to over 1,200 businesses including Buddhist temples, food stalls, clothing shops, cafes, restaurants, bars and more. The area offers a mix of traditional and contemporary culture with hidden surprises waiting to be discovered.
An authentic, Showa era style shopping area, but with a mixture of buildings old and new. There are various shops that look like they're decades old, but also various cafes, bars, and an eclectic range of eateries (with food from several countries). Not too many people either, so easy to walk about.
Jeremy F — Google review
With its covered arcades and blend of contemporary and traditional stores, Nagoya's Osu Shopping Street provides a bustling and delightful strolling experience. The food stalls stood out, especially those with large queues, which indicated their popularity, even though many establishments didn't have anything that tempted me to buy. You can try some of the local street food and snacks there. You might find some hidden treasures or better bargains in the side streets if you have the time to explore. Even if you're not there to buy much, the lively environment makes the trip worthwhile for the experience. It's perfect for taking leisurely walks, observing people, and sampling delectable snacks as you go.
CVM T — Google review
Rather underwhelming to be honest. Not many of the shops are very interesting. It's definitely not Midosuji or Namba. There are a couple of interesting ones, esp. Kannon Coffee. The Osu Kannon Temple at the end is a beautiful site.

Osu Shotengai Shopping Street @ Nagoya 🛍️🍡🇯🇵 🗓️ Visited: 17 April, 12 PM ☀️ Dropped by after a great breakfast nearby We parked at Osu Park, which was just a short walk to both Osu Shopping District and Osu Kannon Temple—super convenient! This vibrant shelf district features covered walkways, making it easy to explore in any weather. The arcades are packed with shops, food stalls, vintage goods, souvenirs, and anime merchandise. We easily spent half a day wandering through the maze of alleys, enjoying local snacks and browsing quirky items. We even picked up a handy check-in luggage here—plenty of practical buys along with the fun stuff! 🧭 A great spot for casual strolling, street food, temple visits, and shopping—all in one area. Highly recommended for a half-day adventure in Nagoya.

In the vicinity must try this - in my opinion, the best pork cutlets recipe in the whole of Japan - is reasonably priced & the portion is huge!

Worth visiting for casual walk. Vintage clothing, cheap electronics and plenty of food stalls are main attractions. Those who love ornaments & watches don’t miss to visit komehyo.
AL R — Google review
This place is so convenient for strolling as it is not so crowded with more locals than tourists. You wouldn't notice time running as its great for window and actual shopping. Has variety of street food to try which are all delicious. But I find the tanghulu quite pricey though keeps ordering to my daughter's delight. And of course has shops with cosmetics, medicine and supplements galore. Had wonderful vintage stores. A leather shop with the coolest belt color/ buckle selection that can be customized. An authentic matcha shop with an accommodating owners that shows the process and explains the variety.

Konica Minolta Planetarium Nagoya, located in Shirakawa Park in the Central District of Nagoya City, is home to Japan's first LED dome system called "DYNAVISION-LED." This innovative technology creates a vibrant display of images and a stunning starry sky, offering visitors an escape from everyday life. The planetarium at the Nagoya Science Museum was certified by Guinness as the world's largest in December 2011.
I came here to catch the evening show because it's cheaper than the daytime. I'm glad I picked this show because it's so mesmemorizing. I felt that the snowflakes were falling down on me when I stretched my hand to reach for them. Take a look at the video. Because it's a planetarium and not a movie theatre, the screen is different, and it feels so realistic. Anyway, if you are r budget conscious traveler, do remember to pick the evening show.

Its a good place and has a nice scenery. It gives 3d vibes but although if your a foreigner I recommend doing the english songs instead if you dont understand Japanese but if your a foreigner who understands Japanese well then be feel free to watcht the Japanese song with some 3d views!

I watched Chilling with the stars playlist. The music was good and the seats felt comfy. In fact, they were so comfortable that I fell asleep, since the show was boring. The visuals were very disappointing, because 80% of the show was a static black screen of stars that was explaining constellations. Only two songs featured a visual experience, but their render quality was equal to the Nintendo 64 console. Even as a tourist, 1600 yen was too much money for this 40-minute sleep program.

(Translated by Google) You can gaze out at the starry sky from a reclining seat. It was very crowded on the weekend, so I recommend making a reservation online. It's a great place to come alone for a relaxing time, or even as a date spot. There are merchandise available, so you can enjoy the view. They have accessories, but I also recommend the aromas. When you enter the dome, aromas are burning at the entrance, and the current aroma is displayed with a sign saying "Today's Aroma." If you come by car, you'll get two hours of free parking. If you spend one yen or more at AEON, you'll get two more hours free. If you have the AEON app, you'll get three hours free. I watched the show about kunigami's starry sky and the content and original audio were good. The visuals, however, did appear a little dated and not sharp at certain parts (e.g. forests). My one complaint would be that the audio device for English does not work very well. During the entire show, I had to raise the device up to a certain height to capture the signals. When I lay it on my chest or lap, it just went silent. I had expected more quality equipment given that the ticket is not cheap. The store sells some pretty stuff (but pricey) and I got a little candle as souvenir.

Guests can enjoy comfortable accommodations with amenities like air conditioning, flat-screen TVs, and private bathrooms. With a 24-hour front desk and concierge service, visitors can expect excellent hospitality during their stay.
Very nice Food Court, which also offers plugs to power a laptop and free Wifi, so you can work and study here. That's how all Food Courts should be!

Very good mall with shops, supermarket, food courts and restaurants. Best, there's a free shuttle bus that runs to and fro the mall from the nearby Kanayama station frequently. Free Aeon mall WiFi though sometimes it drops off. There are plenty of shops in this mall. Note the different closing times of the mall by the shop levels Lots of parking spaces available.

About a good 15-20mins walk from Kanayama metro station, you will reach this place. It's a big, spacious but quiet shopping mall that offers shoppers quite a lot to see, shop and eat! We were there on a weekday and it's quite quiet and we managed to shop in peace. We had our coffee break at the Starbucks, did our window shopping around the 5-6th storey building with lots of bouqitue stores and makeshift stalls and bought our groceries at the supermarket. It's quite a good place to be in regardless if it rains or shines outside and also a good one-stop shopping point!
Ed C — Google review
Very much like an American mall but way bigger. It’s four floors with the top floor being all restaurants. The bottom floor is half grocery store. It’s really an all in one stop. Plus there is a free shuttle bus from the local train station to this mall. It’s like a 4 minute ride.
Kerri — Google review
The mall is massive with lots to see and buy with a good number of food choices restaurants sitting areas and importantly complimentary shuttle service to the subway and train stations which makes it such a great option to visit and spend a leisurely shopping and eating spree!

That was very good that they also offer transportation service for those who want to go to Kanayama Eki. Please see my photos herewith.

There is a free shuttle bus from the 金山駅 south gate. It would be a nice visit after the visit at 熱田神宮. There is a tax free counter

Quite disappointed as there are not many shops there, although the supermarket is quite big. Still, they have quite a lot of restaurants with a big food court, if you just wanna eat and buy stuffs from supermarket, it still worths to come. They offer free shuttle service from Kanayama station and it is quite frequent, so in general, not bad.

Nippon Gaishi Hall is a versatile circular arena that hosts a variety of events, including large-scale concerts, trade fairs, and sporting events. Located about 10 km away from Aeon Mall Atsuta, it offers easy access for visitors. Recently, the venue hosted the Nation's League volleyball event, where attendees had the opportunity to watch fabulous performances by the players. Additionally, fans enjoyed Disney on Ice at this iconic hall.
It was a pleasure to know and come to this beautiful sports arena during that time of this event. It was big and very close to the train station. It was very clean and well taken care of. My daughter was very impressed and honored to be part of the international attendees for this yearly event.

It's a great location for a volleyball match. The location is close to the station, and there are several convenient stores within a 5-minute walk. Despite the large number of people, the management inside the venue was well-handled.

Its a public hall which people can book it. Today this hall was booked for Eid Ul Adha Prayer and lots of people from different countries offered Prayer here. Nice experience
MD A — Google review
It was a bit difficult finding how to get from the upper level seating down to the arena. But overall the sound for the concert was amazing and it seems that jo matter where you are seated in the venue you get a good view. Organisation is good as well, people speak enough english to direct you to where you need to be
Vee H — Google review
As a foreigner, it was very confusing as the standing floor was split into enclosed sections and you had to find where to queue up based on your block/number which was difficult not knowing Japanese. Also there is no bar, you have to leave the venue and head to a local convenience store. The venue itself is a fairly standard arena, no faults there

Airport
Nagoya Airport, a small and modern airport, offers a convenient and efficient travel experience. The Flight of Dreams attraction at the domestic terminal features an amusement park with a Boeing 787 plane as its main highlight. Visitors can even try their hand at flying a Boeing 787 or Boeing 747 Dreamlifter on a flight simulator. The airport provides easy access to airplanes without long lines or extensive walking distances. It houses various amenities including convenience stores, cafes, gift shops, and restaurants.
We arrived in Nagoya last March 15, 2023. Passing thru the immigration arrival area was really fast, especially since we already did the online process. The baggage claim area was not packed with people as compared to Kansai Airport when we were there last January 2023. Passing thru customs was very organized and fast as well. The whole airport wasn't that packed with tourists as compared to Kansai. It was very clean also.

It’s not the biggest, fanciest, or popular. But it has the necessary and economic airlines are an option in this airport. It has an Starbucks and like 5 open restaurants, but some others open just in the weekends.

Small airport, quiet even but efficient n smooth operations typical of all things Japanese. Here to explore Central Japan with my family. I could not speak Japanese n they frequently struggled with my English but somehow my message got across. Signage were clear in dual language. As far as I could see, they demonstrate helpfulness, sincerity n a hard working attitude when performing mundane tasks. Well done.
Eng-Hoe L — Google review
Cute small modern airport. Fastest entry and then exit of a country I’ve ever experienced. Even the check-in and bag drop barely took 5 minutes. Very efficient. I thought the ninja puppets hanging from the ceiling were a nice touch. I wish some more of the stores were open in the departure hall. And I wish I could have found one last bottle of sparkling water in any(!) of the many vending machines. But the duty free shop did allow me to taste some Japanese single malt whiskies. (Very nice, but at 14,000 Yen per above my price range.) Main disappointment: the business class lounge was really not that good & there is not a single bottle of Choya for sale anywhere. I wish I had gotten some in town; but I thought I could save the hassle of packing and just do duty free carry-on.
Cecil M — Google review
In the past, international flights also departed from here, but now its role as an international airport has been transferred to Centrair. It is now used for both military and civilian purposes.

Glocal Nagoya Backpackers Hostel, which opened in June 2015, provides contemporary lodging a short 7-minute stroll from JR Nagoya Station. The hostel boasts an on-site bar and cafe where guests can savor a variety of beverages. Free WiFi is accessible throughout the premises. The friendly staff, some of whom reside on-site, are proficient in English and ensure a warm welcome for visitors. Although the showers and toilets are communal, they are consistently well-maintained.
Rooms are clean, spacious enough for travelers with medium to big luggage. Common toilet and shower area. Well maintained. Owner and staff are friendly and accommodating.

No empathy hotel, I booked few weeks ago, however there was a natural disaster happened in LA, aka LA fire. I wrote a message to the hotel and send a free cancellation both Agoda request and email but never get any response from the hotel. Finally the response from was by Agoda, and still charge 50% for the refund due to their no cancellation policy. I don’t believe if there is no condolence how could be a good accommodation service, and never get any response from the begging till the end. NOT recommended for everyone to stay with this no empathy hotel.

I’ve been coming here for a long time as it’s one of my go to places when it comes to accommodations in Nagoya. It’s accessible from the station and walking distance to the downtown area. The staff is always friendly and welcome. Also, the selections of food and drink is very reasonable.
Brown D — Google review
It's spotless, the stuff is friendly and if you stay here at weekend you can enjoy beer, coffee... at the restaurant on the first floor. However the rooms are quite stuffy and the wooden beds often make annoying noises. The location is a positive point - near the central station. Be careful if you want to be guided this hostel by GGmaps, maybe you'll be provided and navigated to a wrong address at the other side of the central station (which is 1.5km from the right address)
Name N — Google review
The owner of the Hostel/Bar was very welcoming when I arrived! I had the 4 bed room to myself and I enjoyed how clean and organized everything was. Even if there were others in the room with me and I had a top bunk bed, I would have been happy. The bar entrance and the kitchen are great places to sit down, relax, and socialize. Showers, bathrooms, and coin laundry machines are very well maintained. I will say that there are no elevators to use for ease of luggage transport, but I travel lightly so it didn't bother me, plus the owner helped carry my suitcase upstairs. A few minutes walk from the station makes this place much more convenient. This place felt like home. 行ってきます!

The Water Treatment Science Museum offers an engaging experience for visitors interested in learning about water treatment and sewage systems. The staff and volunteers are friendly and accommodating, providing informative tours of the facilities. The museum also features colorful manholes from Nagoya City, adding a unique touch to the experience. While the building may be old, the educational value of the museum makes it a worthwhile visit for those looking to explore this aspect of infrastructure and environmental science.

[Admission Fee] Free [Parking] None (nearby parking) Everyone was kind and spoken to the children, which made me think it was a great facility. My fourth-grade elementary school student had a field trip to a water purification plant in the spring, and by learning about the water treatment center, children learned about the water cycle and what they can do to help the environment, such as keeping rivers clean and not letting oil and garbage down the drain. Elementary school students also loved the opportunity to playfully experience flushing toy poop and watching it go down a manhole. This facility also teaches about disaster prevention. Adults can also learn about floods through hazard maps and flood-related travel experiences.
