Park
Nestled in the scenic Brandywine Park, the Brandywine Zoo is Delaware's only zoo and offers a delightful experience for visitors of all ages. This charming little zoo features an array of fascinating animals, including playful lemurs, capybaras, bobcats, majestic condors, and eagles. The intimate setting allows families to connect with wildlife up close while exploring engaging exhibits like the Madagascar display showcasing adorable lemurs.
Me and my wife had taken our grandchildren to Brandywine years ago, we decided to go on our own. The zoo is an amazing little gem snuggled in the Brandywine park area. The zoo is small but it has an amazing collection of smaller animals that in our eyes are just right for little ones. They have a petting area, areas for the kids to explore and a stage for people to sit and watch zoo events. Beautifully maintained in a great setting.

This place is a nice zoo, humble in size ,magical nonetheless. There are a variety of activities for both adults and kids of all ages. Suitated next to the Brandywine River, where there are other park venues not associated with the park however ,a nice compliment for your day. Vendors a plenty, beautiful scenery, happy people. Customer service is wonderful and the prices are fair. Bring a cushion of$ just to be safe.
Aaron M — Google review
It's an excellent zoo for smaller children. Very easy walking, basically one path in and same path out. Not lots of animals but those they have are interesting. Free parking at the park, and nice place for lunch or picnic after. Playground short drive / walking distance from zoo.
Aaron R — Google review
This is a very small Zoo nestled in a very nice park in Wilmington delaware. I wouldn't expect much in terms of size, but the staff is all very friendly and the animals are all very cute and fun to watch I went on a Tuesday morning with my mother and we were able to complete the whole park in about 45 minutes I was very impressed with the amount of caregivers I saw in the animals' enclosures, whether they were feeding them or tidying up the enclosure. the staff were all very friendly. If you wanted you could bring a picnic for afterwards and enjoy that by the creek. Parking was free and I thought the parking lot was a little small. They have a nice little gift shop. I don't think the snack stands were open so I can't comment on that. I would recommend this place for a quick outing before you go out for lunch or dinner.
M. W — Google review
Had a great time visiting the Brandywine Zoo, I'd say a visit would take an hour or two. It is much smaller than most Zoos I've visited but it has no lack of charm. The animals were very lively and the staff was incredibly welcoming. My favorite exhibit would have to be the anteater as I've never been able to see one so close before. I also think having an area dedicated to petting the different goats that also had dedicated staff was an absolutely wonderful touch, I know my family certainly enjoyed it. I think more Zoos could learn a thing or two by the way the Brandywine Zoo is run. What it lacks in size in makes up for with the wonderful staff.
Alekos M — Google review
I visited from out of state. I will say the zoo is small so when coming from elsewhere it is a bit of a disappointment but I will say it was also fun. My children had a blast and that's all that matters! Definitely somewhere I recommend if you live locally and have little ones. It's perfect there! I saw some animals my local zoo doesn't even have so that was fun to see as well! Even outside the zoo the park with the river is beautiful! Definitely recommend for locals to visit. For those not local I do recommend it if you're okay with spending 45-1hr there because it is still a cool experience.
Em F — Google review
This was a good place to show up at as an impromptu activity and it was nice to have an attraction that only cost $9 per adult to get into, but it was so tiny, had some closed exhibits, and even while trying to drag the experience out it was only about a half hour visit. Still, it's a nice facility and it's connected to the Brandywine Park and central Wilmington so it made for a solid component of an enjoyable weekend afternoon.
Mark — Google review
We love visiting this zoo. The people who work there are very knowledgeable, and its a small park where we can visit for an hour and have a picnic lunch. I love having a membership here.

Wilmington State Parks offer a variety of outdoor experiences along the Brandywine River. Brandywine Park, part of the Delaware Greenway, features paved trails, historic sites, picnic areas, and the family-friendly Brandywine Zoo. The park hosts events like the annual Brandywine Arts Festival. Visitors can enjoy a leisurely walk or explore the zoo's diverse animal exhibits. Alapocas Woods is another beautiful park connected to Brandywine Park.
A beautiful and well-maintained park that offers something for everyone. Whether you're looking to go for a peaceful walk, have a picnic, or just enjoy some fresh air, this place really delivers. The paths are clean and easy to navigate, and there are plenty of benches and shaded areas to relax. I also appreciated the open green spaces — great for families, kids, or just reading a book on the grass. It felt safe and quiet, even during the busier hours. A perfect spot to unwind and recharge.
Erhan Ç — Google review
Great parks to enjoy with your family and friends. There is a small area with benches and tables to have a picnic. The park is nicely kept. There are trails to walk or ride your bike. There are also benches along the way in case you get tired and need to take a rest. The Delaware River runs through the park. Great for scenic photos. The Btandywine Zoo is only steps away from the park. The only downside is that the public bathroom is located inside the zoo area. Otherwise, it is one of my favorite parks to visit, and I live out of state.

Had our family reunion there. Everyone enjoyed their self. The only thing the porta potters were dirty. Look like they had never been cleaned. Other than that it was an enjoyable time

Wilmington State Parks offer a beautiful mix of natural beauty, historic charm, and recreational opportunities. Brandywine Park is perfect for walking, jogging, or visiting the zoo, while Rockford Park provides panoramic views and peaceful trails. The parks are well-maintained, family-friendly, and open year-round, making them ideal for picnics, outdoor workouts, or simply enjoying nature. Don’t miss the gardens, playgrounds, and seasonal events that add extra charm to the area.
Bao B — Google review
Had an excellent time at this zoo. The path is straight forward and you see everything twice. They had different staff teaching about animals throughout the day and the goat petting pen was fun for the kids. Some of the animals were not out but it was about mid day. Park was clean and a good deal for admission. Only spent about 1.5 hours here too.

Bear Alignment Center is a well-maintained and spacious facility with ample parking. The owner is highly regarded for being honest and reliable. Customers have reported significant improvements in their vehicles' performance after services such as tire mounting, balancing, and alignment. The staff are described as friendly, professional, and skilled without pressuring customers into unnecessary repairs or purchases. Additionally, the center has been praised for its cleanliness and timely completion of work.
First impression was really great to see clean nice buildings and work area with lots of parking space behind the building. Owner is a nice person but most of all very honest and reliable. Had 4 tires mounted/balanced and alignment done here - it is a night and day difference. Squeaking noise is gone and my steering wheel is actually centered. Balancing of the tires were great - no more vibrations at 65 mph. Recommend to everyone - will be going myself to do brakes soon. If you need brakes, suspension, alignment, tires then you definitely need to consider this place.
Zhandos Z — Google review
Dropped my car off this morning, four tires replaced and alignment finished a little after lunch. The gentleman helping me was very friendly, personable, professional and very skilled. I felt like he wasn’t trying to sell me on anything or do any unnecessary repairs or sell me. I would STRONGLY recommend anyone to come here as my grandfather had for decades when he was alive. My tires actually grip the road now haha. And everything seems very well balanced, i have a very smooth ride now but also feel secure on the road. 10/10

Great work, very professional, extremely clean shop. I'm a lifelong car enthusiast and I was impressed all around. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend to any of my friends.
Banning C — Google review
Jim did it again! After 2 other shops couldn't fix a noise in my front end suspension, Jim got it done. Great service, fair pricing, job done right and on time. No need to go anywhere else for any of my cars. Thanks, Jim.
Douglas E — Google review
I’m from out-of-state when my 1997 BMW 540i driver-side wheel started thumping and sounding as though the wheel was about to fall off at low speeds. I took the car to Bear Alignment in the morning without an appointment and received a diagnosis from Jim by 11am with brake job pricing options based on OEM vs. after-market parts. He said the car would be ready by 4pm. It was ready on time and priced as quoted. Jim gave me a briefing on the job performed and what was deviated because of the age of car (brake signal wire is frail). He also gave the general condition of the car’s suspension. I do recommend this shop.
Telford K — Google review
I have used Bear three times in the past couple years. They do fine work and seem to be very honest. No calls about other expensive repairs they found and strongly recommend you have done asap. Their estimates have been spot on and they meet their schedules. Job good old fashion quality with no hype.
Joe D — Google review
This place is garbage. I called two days ago and explained I needed my alignment looked at. the gentleman told me what day they were available and I set up an appointment. He then says I am to drop it off at 8-9 am and he will call when it's ready. I said I'll wait for it. He then says no you have to drop it off. I said well I don't have another car so I'll just wait in the waiting room. his attitude totally changed and he said we won't work on it if you can't drop it off !!!!! So I am happily sitting at Delaware tire center in Newark and they are looking at my car waiting room coffee competitive prices and great service
