Visited Palakkad Fort on a holiday and it was almost empty except for a few workers. The calm and peaceful atmosphere made it a relaxing stop. Don’t expect an overwhelming or grand experience, but it’s definitely worth visiting for its historical significance. A quiet place to walk around and soak in a bit of heritage.

Palakkad Fort, also known as Tipu’s Fort, is one of the most iconic landmarks in Palakkad, Kerala. Built in the 18th century by Hyder Ali and later strengthened by Tipu Sultan, this fort still stands as a well-preserved piece of history in the heart of the city. Surrounded by a wide moat and lush greenery, the fort offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere despite being located in a bustling town. The thick laterite stone walls and traditional Kerala-style architecture make it visually impressive and historically significant.

A well known historical structure. Please read about prior visiting here. Then only we will get an idea about the place. Pros 1. Very nice and beautiful structure. 2. Entry fee is minimal. 3. Many photospots inside so take a good camera. Cons 1. Better go early morning or evening. Noon time is very hot. 2. Bathroom are limited and not hygienic. 3. No inside eateries. So take your refreshment items while entering.

Palakkad Fort (also known as Tipu’s Fort) is one of the most well-preserved historical forts in Kerala, India. 🏰 Overview Location: Palakkad town, Kerala Built by: Hyder Ali, ruler of Mysore Year: Around 1766 CE Main Purpose: To strengthen military defence between Kerala and Tamil Nadu and to control the Palakkad Gap (a key mountain pass through the Western Ghats). 📜 History The fort was originally built by Hyder Ali of Mysore. Later, it was captured by the British East India Company in 1768, briefly retaken by Tipu Sultan, and then permanently taken over by the British in the late 18th century. During British rule, it served as a military base and later as a administrative center. 🧱 Architecture Constructed mainly using laterite stones, a common building material in Kerala. The fort has thick walls, wide bastions, and a moat surrounding it. Inside, you can find: Hanuman (Anjaneya) Temple Sub-jail (used during British period) Children’s park Museum (run by the Archaeological Survey of India)
Midhun B — Google review
The place has a big parking area and no waiting time. Tickets can be booked online to save money, and children below 15 years get free entry. Overall, it’s a good experience for families. However, one concern is that some couples behave inappropriately in public areas, which can make visitors uncomfortable. It would be great if the management ensured better monitoring to maintain a family-friendly environment.
PRAVEENKUMAR V — Google review
The fort is small but beautiful and beautifully maintained by ASI, there is nothing to see much but it's a quiet place in the middle of the city. Ample car and two wheeler parking is available in the fort premises. Fort is surrendered by water.
Makarand S — Google review
Palakkad Fort – A Perfect Blend of History and Serenity Nestled in the heart of Palakkad town, Palakkad Fort, also known as Tipu’s Fort, is a magnificent structure that beautifully preserves the essence of Kerala’s history. Built in 1766 by Hyder Ali, the father of Tipu Sultan, this fort has witnessed several chapters of South Indian history, including the British occupation. Today, it stands as a testament to strong military architecture and cultural heritage. First Impressions: The moment you step inside the fort premises, you’re greeted by a vast expanse of lush green lawns and a large moat encircling the fort walls. The fort’s massive laterite walls, still strong after centuries, offer a sense of awe and admiration. The atmosphere is calm and serene, making it an ideal escape from the city’s hustle. What to See Inside: Hanuman Temple: A small yet beautiful temple located inside the fort grounds. Prison Cells & Barracks: Explore remnants of old structures that once served as military quarters. Informative Boards: Learn about the history of the fort through well-placed descriptions around the premises. Walking Paths: Perfect for an evening stroll, surrounded by greenery and scenic views. Why Visit? If you’re a history buff, architecture lover, or someone seeking a peaceful spot, Palakkad Fort is a must-visit. It’s also a great place for photography – the fort walls, open gardens, and reflections in the moat create beautiful frames. Best Time to Visit: Visit in the early morning or late afternoon to avoid harsh sunlight and enjoy pleasant weather. Sunsets here are particularly beautiful! Additional Info: Entry Fee: Minimal, very affordable. Parking: Available near the fort. Duration: 1-2 hours is enough for a complete visit. Nearby Attractions: Malampuzha Dam & Gardens, Dhoni Waterfalls, and Jain Temple at Jainmedu. Final Thoughts: Palakkad Fort is not just a historical monument – it’s a peaceful retreat where history meets nature. Whether you’re traveling solo, as a couple, or with family, this fort offers a delightful experience for everyone.

Spanning 17 acres against the stunning backdrop of the Western Ghats, this park features over 35 exhilarating rides, including both dry attractions and water-based fun. Visitors can enjoy popular rides like Super Splash and Dragon Coaster while also indulging in delicious treats at the food court.
If you’re in or around Palakkad and looking for a fun day out with your squad or fam, Fantasy Park is where the vibe is at. This place blends amusement rides and water world fun all in one spot. The water slides are the real deal especially in the summer heat and the wave pool totally hits different. There are rides for all ages from kiddie zones to a few thrill rides that get your heart racing. 🤹🏻‍♂️ The park is clean and well maintained and the staff is super helpful. The entry fees are reasonable and they’ve got lockers and dress changing areas that make things smooth. Food court options are average but do the job when hunger strikes. Best part is the scenic backdrop of Malampuzha Dam and hills which gives the whole place a chill vacation mood. 🧗🏻‍♂️ If you’re in Palakkad and want a break from the usual this place is totally worth it. Just get there early if you want to beat the crowd especially on weekends. 🤽🏻‍♂️🏄🏻‍♂️

Had an amazing experience at the fantasy theme park which just located near Malampuzha dam, 5mins drive from malampuzha dam. The dry games were super fun, the Sky drop Tower was the highlight, giving a real adrenaline rush as it shot up and dropped us down in seconds! The water games were just exciting. There’s this one capsule ride where you stand inside and suddenly the floor drops- it’s wild and thrilling! It’s a perfect fun with family, friends and relatives with laughter and adventure.
Nevin J — Google review
I recently visited this amusement park with my kids and had a great time! The water rides were a hit with the whole family, and the best part was they were suitable for kids. The park maintained good safety standards, and we appreciated the relaxed dress code. While the dry rides were average, they were still enjoyable. What really stood out was that my two kids got in free that day! Overall, a fun day out for families.
Ratheesh K — Google review
We had a terrific time. Decent games. Wonderful green environment. The rides were well maintained. Only complaint was the very limited number of floats in water games. Also people the water game infrastructure does not support people beyond 80 kgs. This should be informed in advance. Because of this, children who were supposed to ride the wave with parents , some of them had to go alone . So the experience was limited to that effect . Some water slides were steep and we felt the protection/ sides could be slightly higher to avoid slipping or falling. Nothing of that sort happened..but the fear was there . Rest all were wonderful. For those who fear heights in water games ..there were other water game options, a thoroughly enjoyable factor. Freefall ride was amazing . Gyroscope was adventurous yet nice. Senior citizens do have price concessions. The place is worth visiting

Fantasy park is an affordable locale for school excursions and all. Even though, we went to Fantasy Park on a weekend, the crowd was minimal and therefore we didn't have to wait in long queues. Water rides and other amenities felt really entertaning, for the price. Food served was delicious for the price. And as students you could get discounts. Enquire in the office regarding the same.
Nikhil B — Google review
For Rs.750 per head, it's definitely worth it, rather having few rides to explore you really can have lots of fun. Worth it! Recommended if you're planning to spend a one day out. Definitely worth the try.

I recently visited Fantasy Park in Coimbatore, and it was such an enjoyable experience! The park is well-maintained, clean, and surrounded by beautiful greenery near the Western Ghats, which gives it a refreshing atmosphere. The water rides are the main highlight — perfect for both kids and adults. The wave pool, lazy river, and spiral slides are super fun! The dry rides and 3D theatre add extra excitement, especially for families and friends. Staff members were polite and helpful, and the safety measures were properly followed. The food court inside offers decent options at reasonable prices, and there are shaded rest areas to relax between rides. Overall, it’s a great place to spend a full day with family or friends. Affordable entry, clean environment, and lots of fun activities make it one of the best amusement parks around Coimbatore. ⭐ Rating: 4.5/5 🎢 Best for: Family trips, college outings, and weekend getaways.
Viswa — Google review
Fantasy Park, Malampuzha – One of Kerala’s First Water Theme Parks Fantasy Park, located near Malampuzha Dam in Palakkad, is one of the first and most well-known water theme parks in Kerala. While the park has been serving visitors for decades, it still manages to offer a decent family experience with a mix of water rides and dry attractions. The water quality is well-maintained, and safety measures are reasonably implemented. However, most of the rides are older, with only two newer additions spotted during our recent visit. To remain competitive, the park would benefit from periodic upgrades and innovations, especially considering the entry fee structure which is similar to that of larger parks. Weekends, vacations, and holidays tend to get overcrowded, so plan your visit on weekdays if you prefer a calmer experience. A major positive aspect of our visit was the excellent service provided by the restaurant staff—friendly, attentive, and efficient. Overall, Fantasy Park offers a nostalgic and enjoyable outing, especially for families and children, though it would greatly benefit from infrastructure upgrades and new attractions.

Dams
Nestled in the picturesque Palakkad district of Kerala, Malampuzha Dam stands as a remarkable engineering feat completed in 1955. This impressive structure creates Kerala's largest reservoir, holding an astounding capacity of 226 million cubic meters. The dam is not just about its functionality; it’s surrounded by breathtaking landscapes that include lush green lawns and vibrant flower beds swaying gently in the breeze, all set against the majestic backdrop of the Western Ghats.
Malampuzha Dam is a perfect spot for a peaceful and refreshing one-day trip! I visited recently and was truly impressed by how well-maintained and scenic the entire area is. The atmosphere is calm and serene, making it a great getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life. The walk up to the dam can be a little tiring, especially on a sunny day, but it's completely worth it. As you walk along, you'll find several beautiful photo points, ideal for both nature lovers and casual photographers. The surrounding greenery and water views are just stunning. There are plenty of snack stalls and small eateries near the entrance and around the park area, so you won't have to worry about food. Families with kids will love the children’s park, which is clean and equipped with fun rides and open spaces for kids to enjoy. One of the best parts of the visit was the ropeway ride – it's just ₹70 per person and offers a breathtaking aerial view of the dam, gardens, and the surrounding hills. We took a quick auto ride from the dam to the ropeway station, which was convenient and saved time. The ride itself was smooth, safe, and offered some truly Instagram-worthy views! If you're in or around Palakkad, Malampuzha Dam is definitely worth visiting for a relaxed one-day outing with family or friends. It’s got the right mix of nature, fun, and local charm. Would love to go back again!

This tourist attraction offers a beautiful dam, gardens, and a ropeway ride with stunning views. Peaceful and refreshing atmosphere, and the family-friendly amenities, including a children's park, snake park, and aquarium.

Overall a nice and scenic dam with really nice gardens. A simple and nice place to visit with family. There are activities inside the dam like ropeway, boating etc which can be fun and relaxing at the same time. Can visit once or twice but not more than that.
Kenz M — Google review
Fine destination for local tourists, especially for school and college students. There is a well-maintained garden. It is full of flowers in the flowering season. The vast blue reservoir is a sight to watch. There is always a sizable crowd at Malampuzha Dam
Dr G — Google review
Scenic beauty, especially during sunset: The dam offers beautiful views, particularly at sunset, with the surrounding greenery and reservoir expanding across a large area. Heavy rainfall makes the dam fuller and enhances the visual experience,
Bharathi K — Google review
Not well maintained at all. The ropeway was ok. If you want to go on the dam, tickets are available at park gate which no one told us so we walked all the way and then had to leave since we didn't have tickets. Park is very badly maintained with most of the attractions in a very bad state. Overall, an average visit.
Nishant G — Google review
Malampuzha Dam is truly a gem in Kerala, and my recent visit left me amazed at how much beauty and variety this place offers. Nestled at the foothills of the Western Ghats, the dam is surrounded by lush greenery and serene hills, making it a perfect spot for nature lovers, families, and anyone looking to relax. The dam itself is an impressive structure, and the view from the top is breathtaking—especially during sunset when the golden light reflects off the vast reservoir. The surrounding gardens are very well maintained, colorful, and perfect for a peaceful stroll or family picnic. The famous Yakshi sculpture adds a unique cultural touch and is a must-see landmark inside the garden. For those who enjoy adventure, the ropeway ride over the gardens and water is a thrilling experience that gives you a bird’s-eye view of the entire dam and the scenic backdrop of the mountains. There are also boating options available, which make the visit even more memorable. What stood out to me most was how the place blends natural beauty with well-planned attractions. There’s something here for everyone—whether it’s photography enthusiasts, families with kids, or couples looking for a quiet, romantic escape. Overall, Malampuzha Dam is more than just a dam—it’s a complete experience of nature, culture, and fun. I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Palakkad or nearby areas. Make sure to keep at least half a day to fully enjoy everything this wonderful spot has to offer.

Malampuzha Ropeway Station is located within the picturesque Malampuzha Garden in Palakkad district, South India. The garden is a unique creation by Nek Chand, featuring rock-cut sculptures made from recycled materials. Visitors can also admire the impressive Malampuzha Yakshi sculpture by Kanayi Kunhiraman. The ropeway offers a relaxing ride with stunning views of the dam and garden, providing a welcome respite from walking in the sun.
The ropeway is economical, safe and seats 2 people per cart. It's about 20 minutes and offers very good arial and panoramic views of the dam, the surrounding garden and mountains. It is almost 1-1.5 km from the main dam park entrance.

I tried the Malampuzha Ropeway and it was a great experience! The ride offered a stunning aerial view of the dam and the beautifully maintained garden — truly a sight to see. The staff were polite and well-behaved. It does feel a bit scary, especially if you're not used to heights, but it's safe and worth trying at least once for the thrill and the views.

It was a really fantastic ride at an affordable cost at rupees 71 per adult by the authorities. Evening is the most preferred time to ride the rope way. The ride was wonderfully scenic and visually treated for our eyes. The lush green over the park landscape was a stunning view. also the aerial view water flow from dam shutters is absolutely eye catching. Must try this place for all.

It is a fun and scenic experience that gives you a beautiful aerial view of the dam, gardens, and surrounding hills. The ride is smooth and peaceful, making it a great choice for families and tourists. It’s a short trip but very enjoyable, especially during the evening when the scenery looks even better. A nice spot to visit if you want a quick and memorable view of Malampuzha.

it was a really nice experience. As far as I know, this is the only ropeway available in South India, which makes it a unique attraction. The ride lasts about 20 minutes, and the views are beautiful. We went around 4:30 PM, and there was a queue, so it’s better to reach a bit early to avoid waiting. I took a VIP pass, and the ticket price was about ₹380 for 3 persons, which I felt was quite reasonable for the experience. Overall, it’s a memorable and unique activity in Palakkad, and definitely worth visiting if you’re in the area.

Nice experience on the rope car which takes you above the Malampuzha dam's gardens along the dam. Nice view of the dam, the garden and the canal with gushing waters. Two people per car. Takes about 20 min. The car does not stop on boarding and deboarding and we have to board/deboard as the car is moving which makes it slightly difficult for the elderly.

If you're visiting Malampuzha Dam, don’t miss the Malampuzha Ropeway Station, it’s truly one of the best ways to experience the beauty of this region from above. The ropeway ride offers a stunning aerial view of the dam, the sparkling waterfalls, and the lush green surroundings. Gliding smoothly over the landscape, you’ll also get a bird’s-eye view of the famous Snake Garden and the iconic Yakshi statue, which looks even more striking from above. The ride is short but memorable, with well-maintained cabins and a calm, safe experience. It’s perfect for families, couples, and solo travelers alike. The staff was courteous, and the ticketing process was quick and hassle-free. What sets this place apart is the combination of natural beauty, artistic heritage, and fun, all wrapped into one ride. Whether you're an adventure lover or someone looking to enjoy the peaceful charm of Malampuzha, this ropeway is a must-try. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Palakkad or nearby areas. Don’t forget your camera, every second up there is photo-worthy! Ticket price for roapway - 71/-

A refreshing family destination that beautifully combines nature and water. Ideal for a half-day or full-day trip near Palakkad or Coimbatore. The best time to visit is in the evening, when the weather is pleasant and the sunset views over the dam are stunning. You can also enjoy a rope car ride across the dam — around 20 minutes long, priced at ₹71 per person
Dhana B — Google review
Visiting a dam and experiencing a rope car ride together is often described as a memorable and scenic adventure, combining views of impressive engineering and natural landscapes. Many popular dam sites in India—like Malampuzha Dam in Kerala. The rope car offers a unique bird’s-eye view of the dam structure, gardens, and water reservoir, The ride is typically slow and steady, suspended around 60 feet or more above the ground, and lasts about 15–20 minutes, making it suitable for families, couples, and photography enthusiasts. Rope car ticket prices are generally affordable.

British Bridge in Palakkad is a historic and picturesque landmark, built in 1852 during the time of A.B. Robinson, the Collector of Malabar. Although no longer used for vehicles, it offers a charming walking experience with stunning views of vibrant blue water reflecting its color during the day. The bridge exudes a rich historical ambiance and is perfect for capturing beautiful photos.
Good vibe during the evening. The approaching road is completely having potholes and is damaged. Good place to go for a ride in 2 wheelers. The view of the river and the canal is amazing. A must visit small place in Palakkad. The drive through the canal is very nice.
Harish H — Google review
The Beauty can be experienced at best at morning and evening time. Name was British bridge but actually it was not built by British Empire but the name given because of its architecture design of the British engineering model. But till now it was stay as a stronger than any aqueduct or bridge which built after 90s. The view of bridge was heart warming one. A centre water flowing channel with one side pedestrian path and other side light vehicle passing way. The aqueduct was built for carrying the water from malampuzha dam to other areas.
Dr T — Google review
I visited the British-built bridge in Palakkad, and the side view is truly stunning. The vibrant blue water perfectly reflects the bridge's color during the day, creating a mesmerizing sight. The bridge has a rich historical feel, and while it's no longer used for vehicle transport, it offers a delightful walking experience. My favorite part was capturing its beauty in a photo – it's undoubtedly the highlight of my collection. Highly recommended for those who appreciate historical charm and picturesque landscapes.❤️‍🩹

Palakkad share such a beautiful farming area with lots of water Reservoir. The wind in this place is so calming ,the view here makes our eye Relaxing. The way they had the construction still alive which was made during British Ruling Era was appreciative. You can take picture as this place holds such a good natural vibe with Paddy field, dam, people. This place is quite lonely place.Make sure you have some locale friend to take you along with for the safety concern. I recommend you to visit once you are in palakkad.

One of the most visited spot at Palakkad. This is a unique bridge which posses a canal upon the bridge and a river flowing under the bridge. There is another same type of bridge which looks alike to this at Kadam Kode, Palakkad. This is a British constructed bridge which stands still even in these days. You can enjoy some good time in the evening here.
AMRUTHA R — Google review
Worth visiting for seeing its architectural marvel from british era. Best time to visit is early morning when there is slight fog and early sunshine. Its suitable for photography sessions as well. During holidays it can be crowded badly. There is view point stands as well on this south side of the bridge. Do enjoy the unparallel view from there as well.
JACOB A — Google review
A good relaxation point in Padalikkad area. Mornings and evenings will be the apt time to fully enjoy the views here. Thie bridge construction was done by our engineers and designed by British architects. Only small vehicles upto mini vans can pass through this point. The canal originated from Malampuzha dam and flows through paddy fields. Recommended for friends and family outings. Approach roads near canal is bit bad with potholes and bumps.
Jibin M — Google review

Before it was really quite and relaxed but now during evening its bit crowded over there.Road to this spot was poorly maintained. Nestled in the heart of Palakkad, the Malampuzha Rock Garden is a captivating destination that artfully combines nature and creativity. Established in 1996, this expansive garden showcases an array of stunning sculptures, intricate rock mosaics, and vibrant paintings—all conceived by the talented artist Nek Chand. Located just 800 meters from the picturesque Malampuzha Dam, it offers visitors a unique glimpse into Kerala's rich cultural heritage through its innovative use of waste materials.
The place was nice for a family trip.. But the entire park can be covered within 30 minutes or max 45min.. Near to malampuzha garden.. On the way to Kava.. The food outlets are available at the spot...

The place is marvellous and the arts are really impressive, visited during Christmas holidays and the place was dreadful, it’s not maintained at all, mostly abandoned places where young couples were romantically involved. Can’t take children here, adults have nothing to enjoy. Definitely not worth the 25rs.

♿❌ , 🚗🏍️✔️, 🚮✔️, 🚰❌ Rock Garden at Malampuzha is a unique attraction, filled with beautifully crafted rock sculptures that showcase creativity and artistry. Walking through the garden is a delightful experience, with each corner offering something interesting and picturesque. It’s a place that blends art with nature, making it a memorable visit. However, the main drawback is the maintenance. With better upkeep, the Rock Garden could truly shine as a world-class attraction. Despite this, the overall experience is very good, and it’s definitely worth visiting for its artistic charm and cultural value.

Worst maintenance. They could enhance the place’s beauty, especially since they’re charging ₹50 as an entry fee. But inside, there’s nothing impressive because of poor upkeep.
Akanksha M — Google review
Unique and surprisingly cool! I wasn't really sure what to expect from the Rock Garden at Malampuzha, but it turned out to be a really interesting place! It's super unique because everything is made from broken ceramics, bangles, industrial waste, and other discarded materials. The sculptures are really creative and you keep spotting new details as you walk around. It's not a huge place, but it's definitely worth a visit if you're in the Malampuzha area, especially after seeing the dam. It's a great example of how art can be made from anything, and it's pretty inspiring. Good for a leisurely stroll and some cool photos. Definitely a different kind of garden experience.

Nestled in the lush greenery of Palakkad, Dhoni Waterfalls is a captivating hiking destination that promises an adventure through nature. To reach this serene spot, visitors embark on an 8-9 km trek through enchanting forests, guided by local forest officers who ensure safety along the way. The journey offers a tranquil atmosphere where one can appreciate the beauty of nature, although caution is advised due to potential wildlife encounters like leopards and elephants.
I visited Dhoni Waterfalls on a weekend, and it was super crowded. Still, the water flow was strong and impressive, which made the experience worth it. Along the way, you’ll come across small ponds and even a few dams. I spotted a little stream-like dam where we stopped, sat for a while, and just enjoyed the calm surroundings. The trail itself is easy and enjoyable, you don’t really have to hike much to reach the waterfall. My suggestion would be to avoid weekends if possible and plan a weekday visit instead, when it’s less crowded. It’s a really beautiful spot to relax and spend some peaceful time in nature.
Deepika R — Google review
This location is perfect for trekking and nature enthusiasts. To reach the waterfall, you will need to walk 4 km. The ticket costs ₹120 per person, and there are only two guided groups each day, departing at 10:30 AM and 1:30 PM. It’s advisable to arrive at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. The authorities could have provided better washroom facilities for tourists.

Nice location. Water level can cary between seasons. It's good from July to October. Then water level reduces. Clear water. Nice place for a dip. Very cold water. This place can only be accessed after hiking of 4 kms uphill . You will need to go with a guide from Forrest department..you can't go alone. There are tickets as well. Call them to get the timings. The last session of the day is at 1 pm
Muneer A — Google review
This place is great for a weekend hike. You need to get a ticket from the counter for 120 ₹. The hike happens as batches, one at 10:30AM and the other starts at 1:30PM. It's 8km in total to and fro to trek. There will be a guide & two dogs accompanying you during the hike. Carry water and snacks if needed. Please don't throw plastics in the forest. Note: Please call and confirm before visiting as they might be closed in-between days. Also go half an hour before the batch starts because if members in a batch go more than a certain number, they will close the gate and will only allow you to attend the next batch.

A Jungle Adventure to Dhoni Waterfalls Embarking on the 4km trek to Dhoni Waterfalls was an absolute adventure must for nature lovers!! The journey through the lush, green forest was nothing short of magical. The canopy overhead created a cool, shaded path, while the sounds of nature provided a soothing soundtrack. Every turn revealed a new wonder - from vibrant flora to glimpses of wildlife.Monsoon season transforms the falls into a roaring spectacle, but be extra cautious due to slippery rocks. The anticipation of reaching the waterfalls kept spirits high. While the trek was challenging at times, the reward was undeniably worth it. Remember to respect the forest by not littering and sticking to the trails. The waterfall can be dangerous, so always follow your guide's instructions. It's a challenging but rewarding hike, so wear comfortable shoes and carry water. The final sight of Dhoni Waterfalls cascading down the rocks was breathtaking. It's an experience that nature lovers and adventure seekers shouldn't miss!

The Meenwallam Water Falls is exceptionally sanitary and meticulously looked after. The water exhibits remarkable transparency, allowing visitors to take a dip. Unfortunately, at present, there are no facilities for changing clothes. Admission costs 20 rupees per person, while parking is complimentary. For an additional 120 rupees per person, guided trekking tours are offered. Although there is a small catering establishment on the premises, it remains closed during the festive occasion of Onam.
Best place near Palakkad to have a day trip. Cool waters and safe place to enjoy with kids. The water level is less during the month of December. The road to the place is in a bit of bad condition but manageable. Parking is average. Need to walk almost 700mts to reach the main waterfall. You can only see the waterfall cannot enter or swim there. You can swim only downstream

Best place for a one day trip with family or friends. Safe for couples too. The water is not so deep, even children can also enjoy. People are not allowed to bath in the main falls but can enjoy bathing on the water flow which makes it special.

Meenvallam Waterfalls is a hidden gem tucked away amidst lush greenery, offering visitors a refreshing escape from the bustle of city life. The journey to the falls itself is an adventure, with narrow paths winding through dense forests and rolling hills. As you approach, the sound of cascading water grows louder, building anticipation for the stunning sight that awaits. The waterfall is not overly crowded, making it a perfect spot for those who enjoy nature's tranquility. The clear water tumbling down the rocks creates a mesmerizing sight, while the surrounding vegetation adds to the serene atmosphere. The natural pool at the base is ideal for a relaxing dip, though visitors are advised to be cautious, especially during the monsoon season when the water flow is stronger. Photography enthusiasts will find Meenvallam Waterfalls a great location, with picturesque landscapes, misty air, and dramatic rock formations. The site is also a wonderful place for a family picnic or a quiet retreat with friends. However, basic amenities like restrooms and food stalls are limited, so it’s best to come prepared. Overall, Meenvallam Waterfalls offers a pristine and calming experience, perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
