Cala Bianca Spiaggia is a secluded paradise accessible only by boat or a scenic hike through Cilento National Park. The beach offers sun-bleached white sands and turquoise waters embraced by sheer cliff faces, providing an intimate and pristine escape. This hidden gem is part of the stunning coastal landscape featuring beautiful caves and unspoiled nature, making it a perfect destination for those seeking a tranquil and untouched seaside experience.
Super nice beach, definitely worth the hike down there and the dip in the water after the hike is very rewarding and enjoyable. Important to mention that there is a parking not so far away from the beach (20mins walk +/-), we did not know and walked from Marina de Camerota (1+ hour).
Thibaud D — Google review
Very nice clear water. Would recommend parking near Spaggia Pozallo and walking to the beach from there. Roads to get there have a lot of potholes and are very rocky (we parked a bit before the parking lots). Was a 35 min hike according to Google maps. Some parts are quite steep and go through forest. Managed to do it in flip flops but would recommend running shoes with decent grip. Trail is marked by small red bows on tree branches and also by piles of rock forming arrows to show which direction to take. No amenities nearby. Would recommend to bring water shoes and something comfortable to sit on since beach is all rock (can be a bit uncomfortable). Would not recommend for anyone pregnant or traveling with very young children.
Erika A — Google review
Not easy to reach (you should either come with a boat or leave your car next to the camping village ROMANO and walk through the mountain path for about 40 minutes), but the place is really beautiful and with visiting. Theoretically one can come with a car closer to Cala Bianca, but the road there has not asphalt. One negative point though: the mountain path to the beach is quite smelly and in many places is probably being used as a public toilet... The beach itself is very clean.
Daniel S — Google review

Visitors can take a boat tour through an underground river, surrounded by magnificent rock formations and the sound of roaring waterfalls. The caves stretch over 3 kilometers and boast impressive stalactites and stalagmites, creating a mesmerizing natural spectacle.
Spectacular place to visit, highly recommend. Audio tours available, ask when you buy tickets. Can get cold in the grotte, bring a light jacket. Mostly a walking tour, will need to walk up a hill to get to entrance but it's a beautiful grotte you are sure to enjoy!

We had a wonderful tour with wonderful guid named Mario. The cave is beautiful and interesting and the surroundings are beautiful too!
Dana L — Google review
The caves are absolutely amazing, huge caverns with stunning formations, well worth the visit! The guides however, did not impress.... We could not understand any of the information, not being fluent in Italian...they made no effort to find out if we could understand... Also seemed very rude when communicating instructions and directions... Very disappointing!
Chris L — Google review
Beautiful stalactite cave. If you drive between airports in rome or naples and calabria, then this is a nice midpoint place to rest 1 hour. If you can time it with the guided tours. What is special about this cave is you enter the cave by boat. At first we was a bit disappointed, the first half was not beautiful but then the cave became amazing and the last half was full of Stalactites and stalagmites. We like this cave.
Lars C — Google review
Impressive place and a lot of history here. 5 euro for parking, 18 euro for an adult and 13 euro 6-15 yrs. Family tickets available. There is a new tour once pr. Hour. Italien guide. If you’re only English speaking you can for 1 euro buy an audio guide. Around one hour tour first by boat and then walking. Bring a coat or long sleeves. You can pay by card for tickets. If you want something to drink afterwards in the bar only cash here.

Velia is a seaside resort with 6 km of sandy beaches and a mild climate, making it an excellent destination for travelers. The town center offers various amenities such as shops, supermarkets, and dining options. Nearby Velia holds cultural significance due to its school of philosophy Eleatics and well-preserved ancient Greek arched town gate, Porta Rosa.
Actually in this park you have more to imagine than to see, but for its importance for the development of occidental thought and for some uniquities I highly reccomend it. Here you can see the only one Greek Arch discovered in the world. Velia/Elia gave birth to Parmenide and Zenone , two of the most important philosopher of the ancient world whose thought had big influence on Socrates. Parmenide was the first to think that only with rationality one can understand world, and with his intelligence he understood that god need to be, one , with no parts, with no beginning and end, everywere. Zenone, his follower founded the "ad absurdum" way of thinking, of top importance to solve matematical and philosopical problems. On top there is a medieval tower with beautiful seaview. Prepare to climb and descend, so better to have gym shoes and a bottle of fresh water. This archaeological park is still mostly uncovered: only 10% of the area is carved out.
Ale G — Google review
What an interesting place! I would love to start by informing you that it's definitely not worth buying the souvenirs at the start of the park. Moving on I'd say you've gotta be fit if you're thinking about visiting this site or else it will probably not be worth the effort. What I'm trying to tell you is that it's honestly just a bunch of rocks here and there and next to being athletic you're also gonna need a lot and I mean A LOT of imagination. To sum everything up: would I consider myself satisfied? Yes. Would I redo it? Absolutely not
Francesco L — Google review
Visited as part of a combined ticket with Paestum (visited the previous day). Good information boards throughout the site. Helpful staff at visitor centre. Fresh water fountains dotted around the site can be be used to refill own bottle; was incredibly hot so this was a welcome bonus. Combined with visit to Paestum, Velia gives a good insight into how people lived up to 3,000 years ago.
D L — Google review
Visited on Tuesday afternoon in September 2025 no queue for the entrance. Handy toilet near start of the site. Large area to walk around to see the ruins, we downloaded the app for the guided tour but this didn't work as no volume ( we are not tech savvy say may have been us). The information boards are in Italian & English so no problem understanding what the buildings were. Enjoyed visit & highly recommended. Ticket at 15euors per adult included entrance to Paestum site also

Such a beautiful place! Some parts of the hike were quite tricky but it is worth it. The river is so stunning, there are cute lizards everywhere and once you made it to the top you have a beautiful sight. If you have the chance to visit this place: give it a try!

Beautiful place. The hiking trail had more stairs than we expected, but was easy for kids to navigate. The water was cold, clear, and beautiful, with wonderful views along the canyon. We had a great time climbing over rocks and exploring near the small dam. Unfortunately the nearby restaurants and canoe rental place were closed without any further information. There were bathrooms but no water available.

Great hiking place with an ice cold river to jump into after walking around. The hiking path is very clear in the beginning but when you want to do the "small" (we took 3,5h for 10km) tour that starts at the restaurant, goes along the river and around the hill back to the restaurant, it gets a little confusing on the way back so a hiking app or map is advised! Canoeing is also possible for 5€ per person but only in the afternoon starting at 2:30pm and depending on the season and therefore the depth of the water you can't go through the whole river. The restaurant wasn't open when we were there but a small kiosk shop with snacks and packed ice cream.

Bay
Nestled within the Cilento National Park, Baia degli Infreschi is a sheltered bay renowned for its rugged coastline and numerous caves. The area is surrounded by small villages and high mountain peaks, offering a picturesque slice of heaven on earth. Visitors can explore the rocky coastline with its prehistoric grottoes and inviting sandy beaches, such as Spiaggia della Marinella.
We had the best time there! ..Beautiful hike to get there, passing hills, crossing dried up rivers, enjoying beautiful sceneries and landscapes.. and of course, dulcis in fundo, that gorgeous beach.. ..we were lucky enough to catch a sunny day on Jan 30th.. and the rest was magic!

Extremely crowded, very little space at the beach. Boats bring new people every minute, impossible to relax. A lot of boats, water smells and tastes like chemicals. Nature ruined by people. Probably the worst beach experience I've ever had.

(Translated by Google) We walked the Infreschi walk following the directions in the online reviews. We started from the Lentiscelle beach. I don't recommend parking at the small cemetery as one review indicated because it is prohibited and you risk a fine. We set off on foot and reached Cala Bianca in 1 hour and 20 minutes, walking calmly and with 4 children, the youngest of which is 10 years old. In my opinion, the times found in various reviews are not reliable... it doesn't take half an hour or 40 minutes... it's a pretty long but doable walk. I recommend mountain trail shoes, we had hiking shoes. You must have water with you. The beach is stony. Beautiful water. The only flaw: the boats, which are supposed to be forbidden to come to this bay and instead there were at least 5 motorboats!

Beautiful cave which is nice to visit if you are traveling in the area, but I wouldn't come here especially from far away (30 min detour one way is fine). We arrived for the 15.00 tour, we called before to make sure we can come (you can't book online, only call). We parked in the official parking lot which is 3 eur extra (per car). I think it should have been included in the ticket. You can save money by parking alongside the road or near the bar (which is near). However it's only 3 Eur so might as well. The guide was nice and friendly but didn't speak English very well (my friend translated for the group - he should have been discounted for the service! 😁). Inside it's nice and cool all year round (16 deg) so you might want to bring something long (I wore a tank-top and short pants and I was fine). Bring shoes or sandals but not flip-flops as it might be slippery in some parts. Other than that it's pretty easy walk on a paver asphalt road. A few stairs here and there so no strollers. After 1 km you reach the part where there are no more lights (end of touristic road). If everyone in the entire group wants to, you may proceed with the guide 300 meters inside and back. But if only 1 person is afraid - the entire group won't go. I was very disappointed as I really wanted to see that part. To conclude: I've seen more impressive caves but overall it was a very nice experience 🙂

Amazing! There is a parking lot with paid parking for 3€. Tickets were 12€ for adults and 10€ for kids which includes the tour which lasts about an hour. Inside the cave is damp, so be sure to wear walking shoes such as sneakers. It is about 1-1.5km walk in the cave, but not a hard walk at all. It is beautiful! Definitely worth it.

Great cave structure. Wish I would have done the four hour tour. It has large enough caverns that you shouldn't get claustrophobic. After the cave I highly reccomend heading up to the town to wonder the tiny streets and experience Italian life from decades ago. Very wonderful. Only caves we have been in where they let you take pictures. If you are not an Italian speaker get the audio guide. It is worth the two euro.

Nice cave to visit. We took the route of 2hours, one hour with tourist route and one hour in the dark. Very friendly staff there, they saw we came with 2kids only with summer clothes, they gave us some bodywarm to keep us warm in the cave. The ticket for adults is 20euro, for kids is 18euro. Disadvantage is the people there cannot speak English, we felt very pity. For the tourist route, we downloaded the audio introduction from their website, but nothing for the dark path.

(Translated by Google) The museum is a real surprise. Meticulously designed, it clearly and passionately recounts the millennia-old history of Volcei and its surrounding area, from prehistory to the Roman era. The rooms are bright, well-organized, and filled with extraordinary artifacts: statues, inscriptions, and funerary objects that testify to the daily life and culture of an ancient community. The integrated tour of the city's archaeological area is also very interesting, allowing visitors to better understand the connection between the artifacts and their original context. The knowledgeable and helpful staff convey enthusiasm and expertise. A museum that deserves to be better known and promoted.

Nestled in the heart of Cilento, Villaggio Turistico Elea offers a unique blend of history and natural beauty that echoes the region's rich past. This area was once home to the renowned Eleatic school of philosophy, founded by thinkers like Zeno and Parmenides over 2,500 years ago. The local culture is deeply intertwined with its landscape, much like the resilient olive trees that thrive here.

(Translated by Google) What a wonderful holiday! ❤️ As soon as we arrived, we immediately felt at home: the staff is exceptionally kind, always ready to help with a smile. The entertainment team was great, fun but never intrusive, just how we like it. The resort is nestled in a spectacular olive grove, a peaceful haven that lets you breathe in nature and relaxation. The cabins are clean and welcoming, perhaps a little dated in their furnishings, but this is overshadowed by the overall atmosphere. The nearby beach is well-equipped with amenities and crystal-clear water! And then... the food! 🤩 A riot of flavors, with countless options every day, including first courses, second courses, and side dishes, always plentiful and delicious. Saturday night dinner was unforgettable, as were the themed evenings: the one with mozzarella and buffalo ricotta won us over, truly superb! In short: a holiday that left us smiling and wanting to return. Because it's true... "it's better there"! 🌿✨ (Original) Che vacanza meravigliosa! 🌿✨

(Translated by Google) We spent a pleasant week at Villaggio Elea between July and August, fully enjoying the beauty of the location and the warm welcome we received. The resort is nestled in a splendid natural setting, well-maintained, and with direct access to a clean, transparent sea. The beach is well-equipped, and the lifeguards were truly professional, promptly managing even challenging days. The family atmosphere is certainly one of the resort's strong points: you feel at home from day one. The first few days were enlivened by highly popular themed evenings (Neapolitan, Cilento) and pleasant culinary surprises with unique food corners that added a touch of variety. Even during dinner, entertainment was present with music, dancing, and characters for the little ones. However, from mid-week onward, there was a noticeable decline in the entertainment offering: the themed evenings stopped, the food corners disappeared, and even the entertainment during meals was absent. Mickey Mouse, long-awaited by the children, disappeared without explanation. The entertainment staff is numerous, but evening shows are often led by just the head entertainer and his assistant, leaving the feeling that much more could be done with the available resources. There are also some points that could be improved on the catering front: pizza, for example, was sometimes served cold because dozens of pizzas were being churned out at the same time, ending up in boxes with no clear destination. Nothing serious, but these are aspects that, with a little more attention, could make a difference. In conclusion, the Elea Village remains a solid facility, ideal for families and those seeking relaxation, sea views, and a friendly atmosphere. With a little more consistency in the activity schedule and greater attention to detail in the services, it could truly offer an excellent experience throughout the week, not just in the first few days.

We selected this place on our 3 week tour of Italy in a camper van because of the website and descriptions of farming, ranching, and the restaurant. The route from Lecce to here was easy and very beautiful. The property was absolutely gorgeous! We had a campsite near the beautiful river and because of it, we had our best nights sleep. The restaurant served great food. And we saw one of the best sunsets from the deck. The staff was very nice. The reason I gave this a 4 rating and not a 5 is because we were not able to see nor participate in any farming or ranching activities. We walked to the animal barn but it was locked. The garden area seemed overgrown so we didn’t try to go in the area. Maybe because it’s late in the year? But the expectation generated by the advertising did not come through.

We stayed in the Agritourismo for a few days in September as a family with a baby. Maybe it’s better in the summer season, but in the off season, the stay was not as expected. One reason for us to stay there, was the restaurant and the offer to do stuff on the farm. But the told us one day before arrival, that the restaurant will be closed. The activities like making cheese should be offered every day (that’s what the say on the website and on the flyer in the flat), but in fact it was just once a week. The flat was ok, but not really good for a family with baby, eg the had no baby chair. The kitchen was equipped, but it seems that no one ever uses this. There was no kitchen towel, nothing to clean the dirty dishes and no basic inventory like salt or oil. Maybe that’s common, but we experienced it differently in Italy. The owners were nice but a bit chaotic. The opened the restaurant for us on the weekend. On the website and the flyer in the apartment, it says 20€ for a full menu including starters, first and second course with side dish, a dessert and coffee and free water. In fact it’s just first and second course with side dish and water. The quality was ok, except the side dish, which was dry and boring. The main problem ist, that the advertisement is better than the real offer. For the price paid, we expected more. (As we booked early we discovered later, that there was an 20% discount for September. But as we already booked and paid, we had to pay the full price. 20% less may had been a fair price, but for the full price it’s just 2 stars)

La Petrosa is truly one of the best farmhouses we've ever seen. The atmosphere is so relaxing and you get the chance to visit the beautiful scenery of Cilento, spacing from the crystal water of the seaside to the high mountains and woods of the inland. They are autonomous and self-sufficient from many points of view since they re-use and recycle basically all their waste, while also using solar panels and alternative sources of energy. Plus, they make all sorts of tasteful products: from bread to vegetables, from meat to oil, and much more. The restaurant is able to mix all of these fine ingredients into astonishing meals for the right price. The kindness and generosity of Edmondo and his staff really stroke us, and we can't wait to visit them again. Either if you want to bring your tent and camp, or if you want to rent a renovated silos with all the comforts, La Petrosa is really recommended: 10+
