The Museum of Flight, located in the Seattle suburb of Tukwila, is a renowned private aerospace museum within King County International Airport. It was established in 1965 and has grown to become the world's largest private aerospace museum, drawing over 500,000 visitors annually.
Amazing museum! A huge variety of aircraft and space exhibits, from historic warplanes to Air Force One, the Concorde, and even the Space Shuttle trainer. They even have the world’s very first Boeing 747 on display! The place is well-organized, spacious, and truly a must-visit for anyone who loves aviation or just wants a unique experience. Highly recommend! ✈️
Saleh B — Google review
Simply amazing and a not to be missed museum if you are around Seattle area. This is a true treat for anyone with a slight interest in aviation. The museum has so much to offer and if you really want to get the most out of your visit then please do block at least 4 hours to visit the entire place. The museum has a huge free parking lot which is super convenient. The tickets can be purchased based online or at site. There are four major sections where you can see and experience different air crafts. The best is the one across the road where you can actually walk in to larger planes such as the Concord, older Air Force one, and the Jumbo 747s. There are other sections where you can see the first Boeing jets, older and existing fighter jets, visit the control tower. There is red barn area where the history of the Boeing factory is displayed.also they have a few dedicated areas for space program and associated shuttles developed by Boeing. There is a section for the world war era planes and a lot of history depicted. There is a gift shop and restaurant as well. Highly recommend a visit to this
Avais S — Google review
Great collection of (historical) planes, and all kind of info from the (history) of flight and space travel up the artistic Mig21-project. Uniquely located besides Boeing Airfield and Inclusive the Pavilion hangar several ( big); planes with several of them accesable. You actually should stay more than a day.
Vlp P — Google review
This is a must see in Seattle. Tons of exhibits, cool full motion flight simulators, and an amazing gift shop. Pros: Tons of aircraft from all over the world. Contains some insane collections. You are able to enter most planes, like the first 747, the Concorde, a US Air 737-200, Air Force one, and a Boeing 787-8. Flight simulators are very fun as they are full motion. Gift shop has an incredible selection of model planes and other items. Guided tours are available to you for no cost. Cafe food is amazing, with plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. Parking lot is great for planespotting at KBFI. Cons: Some planes are inaccessible, which is rather disappointing. I was hoping to be able to see the interior of the United 727 and the NASA 737-100. Unfortunately, the upper deck of the 747 is also closed, which is a small disappointment. Flight simulator is understaffed so it takes a while to enter. Also, for the museum being all about Boeing, there were no airliner simulators, which I found disappointing. The museum is geared more towards the public fascination with fighter jets and tends to forget about the airliners. (Not to say there weren’t any, there were plenty). Not the museum’s fault, but it is a shame that you cannot see the Boeing test aircraft from the ground. Definitely recommend visiting.
Brixton G — Google review
The collection is excellent and very well documented. The obvious star of the show is across the bridge at the outdoor displays! The walk through aircraft are well set up, and the docents were knowledgeable and polite. It's an awesome experience to physically be in something like the concord or an old air force one. Definitely worth the ticket price and parking was easy.
Jon — Google review
It's a place worth visiting, especially if you are an aviation fan, you will feel very magical. Seeing your favorite plane appear in front of you, you will feel very emotional. You will feel that time flies in it. Whether you bring your family or friends, it is worth coming here. Highly recommended.😍😁
Ollie W — Google review
The Museum of Flight in Seattle is a fantastic destination for aviation enthusiasts, but it urgently needs more Mandarin Chinese audio guides and on-site interpretations. Our group of 10 Chinese visitors recently explored the museum and were disappointed to find a lack of adequate Mandarin services. Given the growing number of Chinese tourists and local Chinese residents interested in aviation history, providing comprehensive Mandarin explanations is not only necessary but also crucial to enhancing the visiting experience for Chinese-speaking guests. We sincerely hope the museum can address this gap to make its amazing collections and exhibits more accessible to the Chinese community.
A U — Google review
This museum has everything when it comes to flying/airplanes. Lots to see! The collection of aircraft was impressive from historic warplanes to modern jets, each exhibit was well-maintained and had informative displays. I especially enjoyed the interactive sections and flight simulators, which added a fun hands-on experience. Definitely a worthy experience!

The Pacific Science Center in Seattle offers a diverse range of attractions for visitors of all ages. From rotating science exhibits and laser light shows to a tropical butterfly house and IMAX movie theaters, there's something for everyone. The center is currently undergoing renewal but is still hosting engaging exhibits, including an interactive hockey exhibition coinciding with the inaugural season of the Seattle Kraken.
Our family was traveling through Seattle and we love going to science centers. We spent the entire day from 10-5 exploring everything they have. Our kids really enjoyed the maker space area and butterfly exhibit. We also chose to see a couple of the laser shows that were free with our tickets. They were super cool. They have so many wonderful ways to spend a day together.
Troy B — Google review
This place is great for kids and adults too! I learned so much about space and the brain. I loved the toddler preschool age planetarium show for my 16 month old even if it's best for 2-5. It was a very slow day with only two babies and their moms today. Usually it's chaos with a little dancing part, the guide said, but today it was quiet and relaxing! The babes were loving sitting back on mom and watching the show. I loved the interactive exhibits. Baby's favorites were the bubble station, the gears, the Bernoulli effect balls, and the twist button where you see what color a star turns the hotter it gets. My favorites were the butterfly house (by far!!) and the show in the planetarium.
Nicole C — Google review
Really cool experience so much activities for everyone to enjoy! Although many areas are targeted towards kids, I did wish there were more adult centered events! I am unsure if they sell food inside but that also would’ve been nice to have, maybe there is a reason they don’t have a cafe or sell food. Parking is also something you have to consider when visiting, but it’s worth it and it’s situated in a perfect area(space needle, chihuly garden museum, climate pledge arena, Seattle center armory food & event hall, etc) where you can visit many places.
Lilypad — Google review
Great place to take the kids. Price was half off and had a blast. Recommend the laser show if you have time. Pretty cool attractions all over. Miss the dinosaurs but sounds like something cool in the works. Definitely visit the spider exhibit.
Brandon H — Google review
We went to this museum with four kids ages 1-7 and we all loved it. The exhibits were so interesting and interactive and there was something for everyone. One of the best museums I’ve been to with my kids. The laser show was cool but too long. We were a bit too late for the other shows. I think you can get tickets as part of the Seattle city pass so it would be cheaper but we bought at the door. No line. Smooth.
Cory M — Google review
Kids had fun. We do all wish they would change it up a little every now and then. We have a year membership but with everything always the exact same each time it gets a little less exciting and fun. The laser shows are always awesome. This time we saw a sci fi show which wasn't as fast paced and memorizing as the shows that dance along to songs. But it was still neat. Kids also always enjoy the butterfly room even if it is so warm inside.
Lyndsey B — Google review
We always have so much fun here! We easily spent 4+ hours here. The butterfly garden is very cool. We also really enjoyed the planetarium (but seating is limited and tickets are first come). There is a lot to see and the staff was so nice and knowledgeable.
Joselyn C — Google review
This was one of the options for the Seattle CityPass, and we decided to go check it out! It was a really fun experience, and the campus is pretty large. They have several buildings with different things in them. We came here around 3:30 pm- we wanted to come earlier but something came up. We ended up missing a lot of the cool programs like the planetarium and the laser dome. Many of the exhibits were interactive and very interesting. I think the coolest exhibit was the tropical butterfly house. They have an area to put your belongings in before stepping inside. They are very careful about making sure the butterflies are safe! It was so cool to see them up close. They also had an area of the ones that are emerging out of their cocoons. When we went, they did not have a robust gift shop, but a little stand with some merchandise. The people working the information desk were extremely friendly and helpful. This experience was so cool! I can imagine that this is especially cool for kids. I went with my partner, and we are both 24 years old. We had a blast, so I think anyone at any age would have a great time here.

Museums
Seattle Art Museum, also known as SAM, is the largest visual arts institution in the Pacific Northwest. It consists of three entities: the main museum downtown, the nine-acre Olympic Sculpture Park, and the Seattle Asian Art Museum. The museum hosts special exhibits and a permanent collection of both current and classic artworks. With its extensive resources and scope, SAM can host grand-scale exhibitions featuring celebrated international artists.
Went on a Sunday and found free street parking right in front. You definitely want to spend more than a couple of hours here to really see and read about the details in the various exhibits. If you’re local to the area, they have so much programming for different ages throughout the year, it would be well worth it in my opinion to get a membership! Was really looking forward to the Ai Wei Wei exhibit, so glad I got to see it. There are special member only openings, creator talks, and early access for new exhibits. They are also very stroller friendly, if you’re planning to take a little one. My baby was looking all over I can’t wait to go again. There’s also a family area to read your child books they have provided there or just take a break from all the stimulation between exhibits. People have commented that it’s not as big as other metropolitan museums but honestly if you’re spending time even skimming the info between exhibits, you’ll be there a while. Check it out!
A V — Google review
A pretty nice museum with a mix of cultural exhibits, including contemporary, Greek, African, and Asian pieces. While the variety is interesting, the overall collection feels limited—I wish the exhibits were more extensive. The café is a pleasant spot to relax. Parking is $10 on weekends with validation.
Kelly L — Google review
It was one of our favorite mother-daughter date nights! In fact, it would be an amazing any type of date night! We especially appreciated the cultural expression and historical and political innovations. Highly recommended. Beautifully exhibited and masterfully displayed.
Allyson C — Google review
Absolutely remarkable. Classic European art, Modern, African, Egyption, American Indian art and so much more. There's also a Porcelain Room. You wonder through with your eyes wide open and your mind ready to inhale the information describing the work, ambitions, and talents of the artists. I was told this museum has one of the largest collections of American Indian art. SAM did not disappoint. The works of this type are unique and capture history well.
Patrick C — Google review
Not large compared to other major museums, but still a worthwhile trip. The first gallery ranges from modern to impressionist to neo-classical, and the second gallery contains more ancient works. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it was not busy at all. You can get day-of tickets easily and enjoy free street parking nearby. To see both galleries would take about 2-3 hours, depending on your thoroughness.
Ryan G — Google review
First time visiting and was pleasantly surprised by the amazing pieces. I loved the ☁️ cloud display, the impressionists and modern contemporary were my absolute favorites.
J B — Google review
A wonderfully and creatively organized museum and the Geometry of Light exhibit was stunning. A beautifully designed and maintained building filled with the wonder of Asian art!
Annie R — Google review
The Seattle Art Museum is a must-visit destination for art enthusiasts! The museum's collection is impressive, with a diverse range of works from around the world. The exhibitions are well-curated, and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. However, be aware that the surrounding area can be a bit rough, particularly on 2nd and 3rd Avenues. There's a visible presence of homeless individuals and people struggling with addiction, which can be uncomfortable or even intimidating at times. Just be mindful of your surroundings and keep an eye on your belongings. Despite this, the museum itself is a wonderful oasis of art and culture. If you're in Seattle, it's definitely worth a visit. Plan your trip during peak hours or visit during special exhibitions to make the most of your experience. Overall, the Seattle Art Museum is a fantastic resource for the community, and I appreciate the efforts of the staff to maintain such a wonderful institution.

Nestled within the vibrant University of Washington campus, the Burke Museum of Natural History and Culture stands as a testament to the rich tapestry of life in the Pacific Northwest. Established in 1899, this museum has evolved from its origins with the Young Naturalists Society into an expansive repository featuring over 16 million specimens and artifacts. Visitors can delve into three long-term exhibits that chronicle 545 million years of evolution while also marveling at one of the largest collections of American indigenous art globally.
Great museum with opportunities to see students working actively on their projects. An incredible concept. My kids enjoyed seeing the dinosaurs. I appreciate their indigenous exhibits. The display of Indigenous artistry throughout the building is beautiful. Parking could be difficult depending on the time and day.
Candice B — Google review
We spent a rainy morning here and enjoyed our visit! They have a good selection of indigenous art, dinosaurs, and taxidermies. There’s a strong focus on acknowledging the impact of colonialism. We came without kids but there’s a lot of interactive elements, so it’s a great place for little ones!
Heleen R — Google review
The museum was very dichotomical, I enjoyed learning and visually seeing the facts. The mammoth was my one of the highlights to see during the visit. Elevator is spacious and plenty of space to go your own pace.
Steve K — Google review
A nice, yet small natural history museum. There are quite a few interactive areas perfect for kids. This is a perfect museum to visit on the free first Thursday, otherwise the $20+ ticket is extremely steep for how small this museum is.
Michelle T — Google review
Very family friendly, tons of stuff to see. Took our family about two and a half hours as we took our time and looked over all of the artifacts unrushed. Loved that the office windows showed work in progress and had notes on their progresses
Amberly G — Google review
Fascinating paleontology displays. I can't wait to visit again to absorb more knowledge. We came early and couldn't find parking then came back afternoon. It was totally worth it.
Mark H — Google review
It's smaller than the Natural History museums in New York or Houston but still worth visiting. The department of anthropology, UW also works in the building. So you get a chance to know part of their research. When I arrived at 10 on Saturday, the parking lot is already 95% full.
L. C — Google review
I really enjoy going to this museum, I would suggest either getting a Seattle Public Library card and you can go for free! They also do free admissions on the first Thursday of every month :) Even if you don’t go for free, it’s a simple museum with many different things to offer, for the price it’s pretty good. I think if it was any more expensive I wouldn’t suggest going. The first floor is dedicated to Indigenous people that first lived in Seattle, while the second and third is dedicated to different wildlife and dinosaurs. They also have labs that you can see into, where scientists/workers are doing their job, pretty interesting to watch!

Located on the shores of Lake Union, the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) is a prominent heritage organization in Washington state. It offers a captivating journey through Seattle's history, from Captain George Vancouver's arrival to present day. The museum's "Essential Seattle" exhibit features historic photos and artifacts that document the city's evolution. MOHAI also presents interactive displays such as "Maritime Seattle" and "Da Vinci Inventions," providing insight into the region's diverse past.
Iconic museum located in a scenic setting. Great place to learn every little detail about Seattle. Upon entering, I was immediately blown away by the massive main hall and the size of the artifacts and artworks being exhibited. The museum hosts an amazing collection of artifacts, methodically presented in a manner sure to captivate the visitor. I love the detail the museum put into their presentations, especially regarding the impact Seattle has globally through its industry and entrepreneurship. I really enjoyed the experience, save for the fact that parking is limited and not free.

After coming to Seattle once a year for the past 5 years, I finally decided to check this place, and I'm wishing that I had done it sooner! This museum is a 'hidden gem' that's off the beaten path a bit away from the usual go-to spots of the Pike Place and the Space Needle, but that should not stop you from coming here. The museum offers a tremendous amount of learning opportunities about the history of Seattle and the surrounding areas from hundreds of years ago to the present time, showing how this areas greatest minds contributed to culture, science and technology in so many ways. I would not hesitate to come here again. Note: Admission was free for me since I am a member at a museum out of state that is part of the Reciprocal Museums Program. I highly recommend looking into it!

Nice museum! The Mohai was easy to get to and grab tickets for on a beautiful Saturday afternoon. The actual exhibits varied from super interesting to pretty corporate, but overall we had a solid time. Not sure I need to come back for a while, but if there was another major exhibit I'd consider swinging by.

What a wonderful museum of Seattle’s history. One of my favorite museum visits to date. Not crowded at all on a Sunday afternoon and easy parking in the wooden boats lot. If you’re at all interested in history, this one is a must visit on your trip to Washington!
Kelsey V — Google review
It was very quiet and clean. Great museum to learn about the history. The staff was friendly. I spent about four hrs there and could have spent more. It was a lot to look at and read. The little video about the Seattle fire was very well put together. Little corny but I enjoyed it.

Learned so much about Seattle’s history! We visited on a Sunday so parking was free. We spent about 2-3 hrs here but we could have been here longer; we had plans so we ended up fast tracking a bit.
Erica G — Google review
The museum provides an overview of Seattle history and the way industry aided its development. Exhibits are informative and interactive for all ages. The temporary exhibit on Mandela is great.
Caroline F — Google review
The Museum is a wonderful place to explore if you want to really understand Seattle. The exhibits tell the city’s story beautifully, from its roots in maritime and logging to its impact on aviation and technology. I especially enjoyed the Boeing gallery and the innovation exhibits, which make you realize how much creativity has come out of this region. The cultural and music displays were a great touch too, giving a sense of the city’s character beyond just industry. The museum itself is in a stunning spot on Lake Union, with big windows and gorgeous views of the water. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the whole experience felt welcoming and engaging. Whether you’re a local or visiting for the first time, this is a place that leaves you with a much deeper appreciation for Seattle

This place is a fantastic destination for kids of all ages, offering a wide variety of activities to keep little ones engaged and entertained for the entire day. From pretend play in the farmers market shopping counters to exploring the US mail truck and fire truck, the interactive exhibits provide endless opportunities for imaginative play. One of our favorite sections was the art and craft area, which offers abundant materials to foster creativity and create memorable experiences for young minds. The construction and building zones are equally impressive, combining fun and learning as kids experiment and construct. The camping area, complete with a cave and engaging wildlife and nature displays, was another highlight of our visits. We’ve been here a couple of times and always spend a full day exploring. The museum’s direct connection via the monorail is a huge plus, especially on rainy days, and the cafeteria above the museum level offers plenty of food options for a convenient break. However, parking can be tricky and expensive, so I highly recommend taking the monorail or a bus. Overall, Seattle Children’s Museum is a must-visit for families looking for a day full of fun, creativity, and learning!

We’ve been there several times, originally with our kids, and now with our grandkids. I love it. The kids have so much fun! My one and only wish is with the sound effects desk in the Theatre - they were all creepy Halloween-type sounds, howls, ghosts, creaking doors etc which put my 4 year old grandkid off. How about a couple of fun ones, like Applause, Cheering for those a bit nervous!

Cute little place you can come with children! We got in with a really good price because my sister is a teacher and she has insurances for kids; otherwise it could be a little pricey without any discounts. They have multiple areas with different themes. The toys provided are based on each theme. It could be super fun for kids, and you can definitely spend a whole day here if you are willing to. You can get a stamp on your hand or keep your receipt for reentry. You can find food court with multiple food choices in the same building upstairs (you’ll have to leave the museum to get there). If you see your child putting certain toys in the mouth, you are supposed to put the toys in a designated area. They are supposed to do a good job sanitizing the toys regularly to make sure they are always clean for all children. Some people bring their dogs in, so beware if you or your children have any allergies.

We have been coming here for years and it is still a favorite for my children. It is a nice open space, especially for rainy days. The art room always has fun ideas and the opportunity to paint. We have also enjoyed the classes we have registered for. The staff is friendly, activities rotate and encourage open ended play, and when you go during the week it is generally pretty quiet.

The Seattle Children’s Museum is a really nice place to keep kids entertained and help them burn off all their energy! There are lots of fun play areas — from pretend and play sections to cars, building blocks, a toddler zone, supermarket, post office, metro station, and even a fire station. It’s such a creative and engaging space for little ones to explore, learn, and have fun!
Mitali S — Google review
The year 2026 is almost upon us and this place is still requiring kids 3+ to wear masks. The funny part is the museum shares a building and the same air as a giant food court that of course has no masking requirements (like everywhere else). The museum itself is fun for an hour or so though. Try to go outside of neurotic mask hours.
Ben S — Google review
The Seattle Children's Museum is a perfect place to take kids. There a lot of different settings like camping and grocery shopping and other ways for them to do imaginary play. There are also some play areas that let them explore STEM. The membership perk is good value for the price, but I wish the early open was at 9 instead of 930. Families could come in, play for a couple of hours and then have most of the the rest of the day left. This place is a must for those days where the weather is too bad for kids to play outside.
Enzo M — Google review
The Seattle Children’s Museum is really fun, with many great sections for kids to explore and enjoy. There are interactive exhibits, creative play areas, and plenty of activities that keep children engaged and learning while having a great time. It’s a wonderful place for families to spend a day together. However, the area outside the museum is a real concern. There are many rats running around openly, and it feels unsanitary and unsafe, especially when you think about families eating at nearby vendors or restaurants. It takes away from the overall experience, and it’s something that really needs to be addressed.

Living Computers: Museum + Labs is a unique museum and lab space situated in Seattle's SoDo neighborhood. Founded by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, the museum offers free admission on the first Thursday of each month from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. It boasts an extensive collection of fully functioning vintage computers dating back to the 1960s, including minicomputers, microcomputers, mainframes, and supercomputers.
Fantastic museum! The first floor is more typical computer exhibits of the latest computer tech advances. They have a cool section recreating life and environment of the 80's such as a classroom. They also have a VR demo station. The top floor though has some of the most impressive items. There is an actual apple I built by the two Steve's that you can actually type and interact with. They have woke mainframe systems up and running and a lot more. Very impressive and even nostalgic
Troy F — Google review
Excellent place to see old computers and learn about computing history. Many hands on exhibits and very knowledgeable staff. I especially love the 80s living room setup they have and vintage arcade machines. It's also nice that the older computers upstairs are set up and working with discs that you can boot the machines up with and play games.
Chris C — Google review
This museum is truly a gem. You can interact with almost all of the machines from punch card makers to the Apple I and more modern computers. As someone who truly enjoys video games it was amazing to be able to play games from the 80s and 90s including some I remember from childhood. If I could I’d spend an entire day here on their second floor!
Joshua A — Google review
This place is incredible. The fact that all the computers are still functional AND you can play with them is amazing. As a computer geek, I could have spent a week here. The highlight of my visit was playing with the FUNCTIONAL Apple I upstairs. I’d seen one before at Google’s computer museum but it was collecting dust behind glass. I also loved all the history, including the early Apple engineer swag and all the info about each machine. If you’re at all into computers or computer history or even if you just casually like gadgets, make this place a part of your Seattle experience!
Sam B — Google review
This place truly deserves 10 stars because it is truly the most exceptional museum I’ve ever visited as a technology geek and museum enthusiast. This beats out every other museum in town and is one of the only museums in the world with such a comprehensive collection of working computers from every decade. I easily spent almost 5 hours here and didn’t even get to spend as much time as I would have liked at each station. They were previewing a documentary on the Apple Newton which was extremely interesting and they even invited some of the key figures in the Newton project to come up and answer questions. Extremely exceptional staff and the entrance fee is completely reasonable for the amount of living history you are able to explore. They also have shown off some new technologies like app based drag and drop robots that are able to be programmed to VR, to an old arcade set, to a telepresence robot that you can drive around. It truly is heaven for geeks and non-geeks alike. There is something here to pique your interest even if you think you aren’t interested in computers.
Victor W — Google review
The first floor seemed mostly for kids but did have a retro arcade (free to play the games) an old school room setup and living room from the ~80s era filled with all the period furniture and tech. The second floor was really awesome for anyone over 20. It had tons of old machines running old software and almost all of it was hands on. Windows 1 machines, Lisa 1 and 2 with Oregon Trail, an Apple 1, and a bunch more. I was really glad I came to visit this place and got to play with all the old tech.
Nick T — Google review
First Thursdays of the month are free 5-8PM. Three hours is not nearly enough to experience everything here. There's quite a few old computer systems including tons of games and software from back in the day. You can play timeless classics like Space War, Oregon Trail, Pong, Asteroids, etc from tons of old systems. The mainframe room is pretty cool with live systems. Also you can play chess against a super computer and if you win, get your picture in the hall of fame! There's also new technology including a VR demo, robot building blocks, and video game development stations. If I lived closer, I'd definitely consider a membership, but I'll settle for the free entry on first Thursdays for now.
Stettin P — Google review
The museum has a variety of computers, ranging from those made in the 70s and earlier to the modern ones we see today, all in working condition! Customers are allowed to use the computers which is really cool! I'd recommend going at least 3 hours before the museum closes if you really enjoy this stuff.

Located on Pier 59 along Elliott Bay, the Seattle Aquarium is a popular waterfront destination offering interactive exhibits and virtual reality shows. As a non-profit organization, it serves as the premier resource for marine experiences and conservation education in the Pacific Northwest. Visitors can explore the diverse sea life of the region while learning about conservation efforts through various educational programs. The aquarium provides an exciting way to discover more about Puget Sound and the world's oceans, making it a must-visit indoor attraction in Seattle.
We enjoy our time in Ocean Pavilion/Seattle Aquarium. As parking can be really expensive in downtown Seattle, we parked for free in West Seattle( near Seacrest Ferry Dock ) and took Water taxi to Pier 50 in Downtown Seattle and then just walked about 10 min. To Seattle Aquarium. As other people mentioned it’s very small and need remodeling but you still can see different kinds of fish, birds, mammals , pools where you can touch those marine creatures and etc. and stuff is very knowledgeable; they can answer your questions and educate you about marine life. Kids under 3 free of charge and they have different discounts and programs for WA residents that you can find on their website or staff can explain it you too.
INNA — Google review
Seattle Aquarium is a spot I like to visit when i travel to Seattle. It’s so pretty inside the building! The animals look like they’re healthy and are treated well. I believe my biggest issue with the aquarium is the fact that there’s not really a lot to see even with the Ocean Pavilion added onto the price. A lot of the stuff that they have is really cool and fun. You get to touch some of the animals as well. But it doesn’t seem like the quantity of animals equal the price of admission. I understand having to keep the aquarium funded. However, $80 for two people is just so much especially when there’s not a lot to do. Lastly, I will say, for the most part, the staff were nice however, others were a little interesting. We entered the building because the front door was open and we walked in. Multiple employees looked at us, but didn’t say anything so we didn’t think anything of it. Until one of them with a little bit of a raise voice said “oh we’re not open yet”. It was literally 30 seconds till opening. I can understand not wanting to have anyone in there but at the same time we could wait in the line until it was officially opened. It was very odd and rubbed me the wrong way. Other than that, go on a weekday, it’s cheaper. Because the usual price is $100 or more for two people.

Awesome! The aquarium has two parts. In one, you can have an interactive experience and touch the sea urchins and other things. You can also see some jellyfish and other pretty small animals. In the other park, you can see some sharks and whales and seals and stingrays. When you are entering, you may see a large tub of whales and other large aquatic animals above you. Overall, this is a very, very, very, VERY good aquarium!
Eli G — Google review
Such a wonderful place! The ocean pavilion is incredibly well designed, watching all the fish in the large tank is such a fun experience. I enjoy the touch pool area where you get to interact with the sea creatures. The octopus is very fun, I recommend going to the 11am feeding. He gets very active then. I had a lot of fun by the closer look table where you get to see microscopic creatures in the water they take right from the pier! Who knew baby barnacles were so cute.
Nikolett M — Google review
We visited the Seattle Aquarium around noon on a Wednesday so it wasn't super crowded. When you first enter, there is an interactive experience where you can dip your hands into a tidepool and touch sea urchins, starfish etc. Around the same area are exhibits for jellyfish and an octopus. Further in, you can view larger animals such as otters, seals, sharks, stingrays etc. However, we were sadly unable to see any harbor seals or river otters as the habitats were empty. After all the exhibits there are 2 gift shops with various souvenirs but the plushies were really cute! Overall, I'd say we had a relatively good experience and might visit again at a later date.
Chelsea S — Google review
Octopus Marine Otters and the Aqua dome are the best part in the original building. The new pavilion across the street is great. Some of the fish in the aqua dome seemed a bit haggard. Sticker selection in the gift shop was tragic. If you are on the waterfront doing downtown seattle activities for the day this is a great first stop or a cool place to chill out after walking in the sunshine all afternoon!
Joshua C — Google review
The Seattle Aquarium was a really fun stop on the waterfront. The staff were friendly and clearly cared about the animals, and the octopus and Underwater Dome were the big standouts for me. The new Ocean Pavilion looks great too and adds a nice mix of tropical fish. It does feel a little small for the price, and it can get packed pretty quickly, but overall it’s a solid few hours well spent. I’d call it a strong 4-star experience.
Andrew H — Google review
It has been many years—decades, in fact—since I last visited Seattle’s Aquarium, and it has transformed into a truly impressive destination. My husband, experiencing it for the first time, was just as amazed as I was. The exhibits were fascinating, though the popularity of the attraction meant the crowds were dense, with people nearly stepping on each other as they explored its wonders. There were countless awe-inspiring moments observing the marine life—even before entering the aquarium. Looking up, you could see fish gliding gracefully overhead, setting the stage for the incredible experiences inside. It was truly captivating! If you decide to visit the Aquarium, be prepared for a bit of sticker shock. However, it’s important to remember that your admission fee directly supports marine life preservation, research, recovery, and animal care. In my opinion, it’s money well spent for such a meaningful cause. So, go there and have a great time learning about our local marine life and seeing some truly incredible creatures! Seattle Aquarium is just past The Seattles Wheel, 1483 Alaskan Way Pier 59, Seattle, WA. Just look for the Wheel, and the Aquarium is about a block and a half past it! I always say “Please be kind to ALL things living 🐾 🌲 (this includes marine life too 🦦 🐟 )

The Connections Museum in Seattle, formerly known as the Vintage Telephone Equipment Museum, is a telecommunications history museum showcasing a variety of vintage telephones, telegraphs, switchboards, and other artifacts. Nestled inconspicuously in the Duwamish Central Office building near the Museum of Flight, this nerdy hidden gem offers an extensive collection that chronicles the evolution of telephone technology.
The Connections Museum is a must-visit if you have any interest in telecom history. The facility has an incredible amount of (working!) phone switching equipment, much of which can only be seen here. The volunteers that operate the museum have an incredible wealth of knowledge and are clearly passionate about preserving the knowledge and functionality of all of this legacy equipment.
Weston R — Google review
We visited the Connections Museum today and were blown away by the experience! Between the depth of the collection, the interactivity with how much is operational, the sensory experience of the mechanical operations (and the smell of vintage electronics), this place is an absolute gem. We were treated to a tour through six generations of telecom network connection systems, starting from operator-controlled switchboards and ending with fully computer-controlled architectures. Our tour guide was excellent -- friendly, enthusiastic, wildly knowledgeable, and I find myself inspired to understand the theory behind how these systems operate. The tour itself was the perfect mix of interactivity, information, and nostalgia for these older systems (really miss how clear and low latency phone calls used to be). I've known about the Connections Museum for a couple of years, and my biggest disappointment was how long it took me to finally visit!
Nicholas C — Google review
I really loved this museum. They take you through the history of telephones with working examples from the different eras of technology. The docents were very knowledgeable and shared how the telephone industry created new innovations.
Ocie M — Google review
I drove from New Jersey to check this place out and I was not disappointed! It is nothing short of spectacular. You could easily spend a month here looking around and still not see it all. Telephones, Teletypes, Amateur radio, computers, they have it all. Walk around by yourself and just drink it all in or take the guided tour, either way, its worth it.
Alex C — Google review
Really cool museum and enjoyed the working demos of the equipment and phones. Max was a great enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide who explained the two levels of the museum over about 1.5 hrs. The museum was a lot bigger than I expected

This place rules. One of the coolest, niche museums I've been to. Get ready to nerd out and learn a ton. We got a tour and chatted with 4 or so of the volunteers and they were all smart and knowledgeable and passionate and had been there for 5 to 25 years. So much care and expertise goes into the preservation of these machines. Unlike some other reviewers, I typically have very little interest in electronics, computers etc however I still got a lot out of it. Also Georgetown is a cool neighborhood.

The Boeing and PACCAR IMAX Theaters at Pacific Science Center offer a larger-than-life movie experience on a 6-story screen. It's a must-visit for space enthusiasts and movie lovers alike, providing an outstanding audio arrangement and impressive screen size. While seating is tight and unassigned, the overall experience is worth it. Additionally, visitors can appreciate the unique architecture of the Pacific Science Center and its historical significance from the 1962 World's Fair.
We were here to see 'How to train your Dragon' and this Boeing IMAX did not disappoint. Thank you so much for making a new memory for my favorite movie!
Dustin F — Google review
Good for one time experience. The theater itself is fine and the exhibits are great. But it runs on fcfs basis, so if you’re not willing to stay in line up to an hour or late you’ll get the left over seats which are not gonna bring you the best impression about the show. Around 400 seats, so pretty crowded if fully booked + if it’s an expected premiere the tickets are going to be sold out weeks before the show(We went for 10 year anniversary Interstellar) The screen is big and high quality. The parking is another disaster, will take you at least 30 mins and all paid spots, except it’s Sunday and you’re lucky to find roadside parking for free. Again, exhibits were worth much more than a film for me, a lot of experimental and cognitive content around, 100% worth of the time you’ll spend walking around especially with kids is a MUST
Myroslav D — Google review
Boeing side of IMAX is amazing. Love it to the moon and back. ….. BUT THE PACCAR SIDE seats are horrible for a 2.5 hour long Demon Slayer movie. Who decided to put in such horrible seats to then show movies at? Am I the only one who thinks this? Am I just the angry old man yelling at the moon?
Garit R — Google review
One of the largest IMAX screens on this side of the globe, is worth watching an action movie. Screens like this attract people to theatres again. Though expensive, is worth the money. Boeing IMAX plays feature films while the other PACCAR plays documentaries. In Boeing IMAX, the tickets are without seat numbers. Thus one needs to go earlier especially for good seating options if watching a popular movie
Manojkumar N — Google review
It's been a while since I've been here. Recently saw F1 and the experience did not disappoint. The sound was point on, bass where it was supposed to be including higher and lower frequencies. The blacks/contrast ratio was incredible. The blacks matched the darkness of the theater so you couldn't really see where the screen ends/begins in dark scenes. The screen itself is too huge to take in with your eyeballs, you have to move your head around. "Filmed" in IMAX is a good thing. I hope to see more movies like this. Because you can't reserve seats, you get the anxiety of making sure you are on time to get a good seat. With Seattle traffic we barely made it. Luckily there were a few good (imo) seats available. We were second row back from the main aisle, almost in the middle. Next time I will try further back as that screen was in your grill! Only gripe was the popcorn. Please don't pre-make and bag popcorn. It just gets stale from the moisture in the room.
Charles — Google review
Traveled into Seattle during the day and walked around for a couple of hours. Wondered what to do and found the iMax theater which we thought would be dinosaurs, or explore the ocean, or maybe see the stars. Nope, Superman. 2 hours later I was glad we got to do something and the popcorn and soda were great. The theater was excellent. Didn’t get to see it in 3D but it was fine without it.
Tom M — Google review
The only imax in Washington state. Large screen thunderous sound system, nice seatings. There’s no assigned seating - aka first come first served. So come early if you want to get the best view. The area around the theater is also nice to check out.
Daniel — Google review
How in the world does this theater not have the ability to show an Imax film? Digital is cheaper but not as involved. Seattle deserves a top shelf Imax theater. Right now, your only options are a three hour drive north or 10 hours south.

The Center for Wooden Boats is a captivating living museum nestled in Seattle, dedicated to the preservation and celebration of wooden boat craftsmanship. This unique destination not only showcases historic vessels but also allows visitors to rent these beautiful boats for an unforgettable experience on Lake Union. As you explore the docks, you'll be enchanted by the intricate details of each handcrafted boat while soaking in the vibrant waterfront atmosphere.
We had an exceptional experience at the Center for Wooden Boats. This is a small museum but a true treasure, showcasing the rich history of wooden boats with beautifully restored vessels and fascinating exhibits. The staff and volunteers are incredibly passionate and knowledgeable, offering insightful tours that bring the stories of these boats and their craftsmanship to life. I particularly enjoyed the hands-on opportunities to explore the boats up close, and even try some rowing on our own. The museum's waterfront location is stunning, providing beautiful views as you learn about the history of boating in the Pacific Northwest. Not being deep into maritime enthusiasm, we were simply looking for a unique and immersive experience, this visit gave us a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the boats and rowing..

The Center had a variety of boats to choose from. We went with the rowboat for the first time but didn't enjoy it as much as kayaking. However the employees made us feel very welcome and was friendly. We arrived early on Sunday to try for the free boating but the line was way too long so we decided to rent it. Be mindful of the current. We were padding for a while and realized we were in the same place. We had a great time though.

Thank you, Caroline and team for an unforgettable field trip — that my students still talk about to this day! Our field trip to the Center for Wooden Boats was an unforgettable experience for my students—one filled with hands-on learning, joy, and discovery. From scavenger hunts, to exploring maritime history, to the hands-on building boat kits — every moment sparked curiosity and connection to our learning standards and more. For many of our students, this was their first time experiencing a program like this. The meaningful, real-world learning will stay with them for years to come. Thank you for investing in our students and helping bring classroom learning to life. See you again, soon!

This is a very small museum with paid parking only. Most of the exhibits were closed when I visited. While the facility was clean, the staff didn’t offer a warm welcome, which made the experience feel a bit awkward. Honestly, there’s more to see outside on the water than inside the building.

We stopped by this place on a whim and had a nice time looking around. We poked our heads in out of curiosity and were welcomed in by staff who let us know it was free of charge to come inside. While we were there, another visitor was being rude towards staff because there weren't any boats available to borrow at the time (it was a busy, sunny Saturday afternoon). Staff were professional and incredibly kind despite this person's bad behavior. I hope whoever is in charge of this place knows that their staff are fantastic! We enjoyed looking around and seeing the boats inside and out. I'll definitely come back.

You can check out some of the row boats by the hour and you can get private sail lessons. There are classes for adults and youth camps. The youth camps are primarily in the summer. It's a fun chill place to learn more about wooden boats or chill on the water in a small boat.

Not worth the time or money. It was very dated technology and definitely geared towards children. Poor selection of music that didn’t flow and the lasers didn’t even match with the music choices. Disappointing.
Justin B — Google review
Awesome show here, staff do a great job. It’s pitch black during the show, but if you do need to leave, they have a dedicated staff member to help guide you out with a red flashlight so you don’t trip. A lot of people in our show liked lying on the floor at the front, but it does put you right in front of the speakers, so wasn’t for me. I was in the back row and I think it was the best spot. They do add a little bit of smoke to get that laser cloud effect, but it was not overwhelming or anything

We had such a blast at the Friday daft punk show!! The sound system was excellent, the lasers were intricate and mesmerizing, and the staff were lovely. Shout out to Michelle for being so warm and welcoming AND their incredible knowledge of laser technology!!
Anna M — Google review
Having a good time watching Laser Queen tonight! It is, quite literally, dynamite with a laser beam. Guaranteed to blow your mind! Have also seen Laser Abba, Fleetwood Mac, and Pink Floyd. This is one of the coolest things to do in Seattle!
Bob E — Google review
The Laser Dome offers an interesting concept, but can be somewhat claustrophobic. Disney Movie Magic was appropriate for kids. They sang along to their favorite songs, while admiring a light show high above them. The Lion King and Lili & Stitch were my favorite.

Tropical Butterfly House is a delightful and enchanting place to visit with family and friends. The exhibit offers plenty of parking spaces, making it easily accessible. Visitors are encouraged to bring their cameras to capture the beauty of butterflies emerging from their cocoons and the stunning flowers throughout the house. Many recommend getting a yearly membership to fully enjoy this magical experience. It's suggested to arrive early when they open to avoid crowds and long lines.
This was by far the best experience at the PSC. Countless butterflies fluttered about in a very warm enclosure with food and flowers for their snacking pleasure. Busy but not too busy, plenty of space to enjoy the local residents. Would recommend if you already are planning of visiting the Pacific Science Center.

My new favorite place in Seattle is the butterfly house 🏠 🦋🦋🦋🏵🌸🌴 staff here give good information on the butterflies 🦋 ( please be careful were you walk on the ground here watch for butterflies on the ground ) . I wish this place was bigger but still enjoyable & better then nothing . I love ❤️ this place
Louise B — Google review
Awesome beautiful butterflies. Make sure to watch your step while walking, as some butterflies might be resting. It will be little warm inside, so clothe accordingly. You go inside in group and come outside with same group as they need to maintain number of people inside. Follow the instructions and enjoy seeing these beauties inside!
Sridutt M — Google review
I had a great time at the exhibit specially an employee Kelsey allowed me and friends to ask questions and was so informative. Her positive attitude made us excited about the information! She was the part we all spoke about that made this visit unforgettable.

The Tropical Butterfly House is awesome. It promotes awareness of the conservation effort in El Salvador. Watching the butterflies flying inside the green house was very pleasant.

Great exhibit: full of amazing butterflies from different places around the world + great diversity of plants, flowers and trees!! Excellent signage. The ventilation system is great to enjoy the time there. A must during a day visit to PacSci! Totally worth it!

What a beautiful experience! There are many beautiful and exotic plants. The butterfly’s land on you. I went in 3 times before I left couldn’t get enough!

The Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) is dedicated to preserving and sharing the history of Seattle, the Puget Sound region, and the nation. As the largest private heritage organization in the area, it has amassed a collection of over 4 million objects, documents, and photographs that showcase the rich history of the Northwest. The museum offers engaging programs for both youth and adults, often in collaboration with community partners.
This museum is great for learning more about Seattle's development history—it's the best starting point before visiting a city.

Really great curation. This museum gives you the entire perspective of how Seattle came to be and how the city continues to be a part of the American culture.

It was cool to hear the story behind the ship and some Seattle history. Being able to go on the ship definitely made it a unique experience.

Really enjoyed this place, I don't think there's anywhere else that tells the story of the Puget Sound better. And tons of pieces of history that would have been lost otherwise. Ever wonder what happened to the Rainier "R"?

Step into the captivating world of space exploration at the Willard Smith Planetarium, located within the Pacific Science Center. This immersive experience offers mesmerizing visualizations of planets, stars, and galaxies, providing a fascinating journey through the cosmos. Knowledgeable presenters narrate shows that are both educational and awe-inspiring, offering insights into astronomical phenomena and the latest discoveries in space exploration. The planetarium features a range of shows for all ages, from preschool to adult audiences.
The Willard Smith Planetarium is perhaps the hardest event to book inside the Pacific Science Center. It gives a good overview of the planets in our solar system, but does not mention the sun. The graphics could be improved, but are adequate for the hour presentation.
Ivan M — Google review
Cosy planetarium inside the Pacific Science Center. Free but tickets are required because it is a small space. They have 15 minute preschool shows and 30 minute adult shows. Get tickets when you arrive, before they are sold out!

Nothing compares.
Josh E — Google review
Had a great show here. It is a bit small (maybe 40’ish at a time?) so be sure to get your timed ticket as soon as you get to the science center. The upside to it being smaller is that you can ask any questions you have to the presenter, and you can clearly hear everything they are saying. Wish the show was longer, as there is so much that can be covered.

The Museum of Illusions in Seattle is a new addition to the city's attractions, offering an exciting and interactive experience for visitors. Situated in a central location, this museum features a diverse range of exhibits designed to challenge perception and spark curiosity. From gravity-defying rooms to installations that manipulate light and perspective, every area beckons exploration and engagement. Visitors can expect an entertaining and educational experience, leaving with amusing photos interacting with the mind-bending exhibits.
Great experience. The staff was especially helpful and very courteous. Mac even escorted us around and took individual pictures. She was most helpful. We believe many of our friends will be coming to visit the museum because we have sent pictures of all of our escapades. Thank you for a terrific experience.
Braedon V — Google review
It was a great experience really cool illusions and lots of interactive activity. I highly recommend going with multiple pairs as most interactive activities and illusions require two people or are better with two people. It’s also better for a bigger group for photos to get the maximum experience. One of a kind museum that’s worth the time. It took me around an hour and a half to fully enjoy and participate in all the rooms and puzzles.
Aliya S — Google review
The museum of Illusions offers a fun and educational interactive experience to visitors of all ages. The staff are very helpful in pointing out to effectively view each optical illusion. Photos are encouraged as each illusion creates a unique point of view for the person looking at the various displays. To help you see the illusions there are instructions posted next to each display explaining how it works and how it came into being. If you are looking for new ideas for date night or taking the kids out on a weekend, the Museum of Illusions is a great way to share in the fun for an hour or two.
Paul C — Google review
The Museum of Illusions in Seattle is a total sensory adventure! From the moment you walk in, you're surrounded by optical tricks, interactive exhibits, and brain-teasing puzzles that challenge your perception and spark curiosity. It’s the kind of place where you’ll laugh, gasp, and say “wait… what?” more than once. The exhibits are super Instagram-worthy—think upside-down rooms, infinity mirrors, and gravity-defying setups. Staff are friendly and happy to help you snap the perfect photo or explain how the illusions work. It’s educational without feeling like school, and playful without being chaotic. Perfect for families, date nights, or just a fun outing with friends. Plan for about an hour to explore everything, and don’t forget to bring a charged phone—you’ll want pics of everything!

This place was fantastic! The best part was the tunnel you walk through that makes you dizzy, it really messed with my head. We had an amazing time... For 45 minutes. Look, they had some amazing stuff, and I thoroughly enjoyed it while it lasted, but it was a very short experience. It was like $35 for less than an hour. I really think they should lower the cost of entry, expand the exhibits, or make the experience longer in some way.
Thomas B — Google review
It was really fun for my husband and me, even though it seems more for children. Prices seemed a bit high. Staff was great and took pics for us and were cleaning constantly. There are some really fun exhibits.
Janell H — Google review
The museum of Illusions is fun for all ages! It was such a fun experience! The museum was super clean, and the staff were so helpful to take pictures for us, show us how things worked, and take time to talk with us. The friendly, personal staff definitely added to the experience. Shoutout to Gia, who was super helpful and took the best photos for us!!! Aiden was also very friendly and took time to talk with us.
Sarah J — Google review
We came on Monday afternoon, not very busy, no wait time at all. We purchased our tickets online and showed ID when we got there, Military do receive a discount. Exhibits were open with space for families lots of staff willing to assist with photos, that was awesome most places don’t offer that kind of assistance. I went with 2 Teens and they really enjoyed their selfs. Souvenir shop was reasonable with prices for gifts or little trinkets.
