The National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, originally founded by Edward Montagu in 1952, boasts a remarkable collection of over 250 vehicles. From early motor cars to record-breaking machines like the Bluebird, the museum showcases a diverse range of automobiles. Visitors can also explore the World of Top Gear with their admission ticket, which includes access to Abbey and Palace House. Additionally, there are plenty of nearby attractions for day trips such as The New Forest Wildlife Park and Paultons Park.
A great museum full of exhibits from all eras. So much to see and do. The monorail is amazing, offering great views of the gardens and museum. The abbey ruins is a beautiful place too and the information available about the monks and their life is great to read. We were fortunate to visit during Halloween season so we're treated to ghost stories presented by a member of the Montague family,he was a great story teller and really captured the spooky atmosphere. It was the highlight of our visit, both children and adults sat, eyes wide open, listening to his spooky tales. A must visit museum if you're in the New Forest, loads to see and will easily fill a day. Thanks to all at Beaulieu for a great visit.

Amazing place! Came for my birthday and had an amazing time. Loved the vintage bus (Ellis was fantastic and credit to you) and very convenient for the mother in law who can’t walk very far. Very interesting on all aspects of the site from the cars (what I came for) and the Abbey and Palace House.

Always enjoy coming here, attended for the Formula 1 75 exhibition, but also had a look at all the cars on display. Enjoyed the monorail ride a look round the house and gardens, sad there was no classic cars out and about... Food was good and tasty 😋 Staff were chatty and knowledgeable and helpful. Overall a lovely day despite the weather

I thought it was a bit pricey to get in but we did spend most of the day there. We took the dog as we were visiting on our way home from holiday accommodation. The dog wasn't allowed on the bus, Monorail, main museum or house. Which meant I did a lot of waiting around with her. The cafe is expensive. £5 for a sandwich so would advise bringing your own. Tea for 3 , four sandwich outers and an apple juice, £38. The children loved the play area but we didn't take them to the house as we kind of ran out of time and wasn't sure how interested they'd be. They also enjoyed seeing Harry Potter's car and the, 'I had one of those' exhibition where you can get in the cars! The staff we came across were friendly and helpful. Whole area is clean and well tended.

I took my 6 year old daughter for her first visit (but far from mine) and she absolutely loved it! The weather held good despite the late October timing. She loved seeing Mr Bean's car and the Disney display but her highlight (and mine, to be fair) was riding on Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The driver was a blast and it was so cool to learn about the cars that were used in the film, and wave at everyone as we explored the grounds. Beaulieu is one of my favourite places to visit when I'm in the UK and I think I can now say it is the same for my daughter. Very highly recommended for anyone of any age.

Visiting this week in half term , my son wanted to see a Porsche 917 so I emailed before booking to confirm the car would Be on display , very pleasant personal reply with confirmation. Don’t be put off with the price for the tickets . You will spend the whole day here so does represent great value for money . My children really enjoyed the “ we had one of those “ section as they could sit in the cars and experience the cars we grew up with . Only points to mention , we had coffee and cake in the afternoon , rather pricey & the cakes were dry and not great . Also a lot of tables left uncleared and in places food on the floor under tables .
Tom A — Google review
This is always a great visit and if you allow 'Gift Aid' your ticket becomes an annual pass (with some restrictions). There's so much to see and do, it's well worth revisiting. There's a good café and on our last visit there were special additional exhibitions Formula 1 and Disney's 'Cars'. We and especially our grandson loved it.
Brian R — Google review
Worth a visit and any number of re-visits - Visited on Saturday, 28/06/25. 3rd visit here and the first for about 11 years. Lovely weather, which always helps, and there was a Morgan owners meeting taking place, so there was more to see than normal. Parking is near the entrance, but uncovered. Bought the tickets online in advance, so you get a discount, and it's straightforward to get in. Once inside, the initial options are a Monorail and restaurant/toilet facilities. Very pricey for anything in the restaurant (£5 for 2 cans of soda), so suggest you bring your own. The monorail is an excellent way to get an overview of the site before exploring on foot, and the ride is included in the entry price and can be ridden more than once. The old Top Gear exhibition has been replaced in part by a new section of example cars from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's that you can get in and reminisce about (though these cars are in a bit of a state tbh). Beyond that, we visited the main museum, which hadn't changed much in the past 10 years, but had exhibits moved around. The F1 section was very good with more recent examples of cars, and whilst we visited, an excellent F1 Simulator which you can go in (you have to pre-book) for £15 for 15 mins. It's worth it, so suggest you book a slot as soon as you arrive. On this visit, we didn't have the time to explore the house and grounds, but there are some lovely walks to be had. The staff are all excellent and approachable, and friendly, and though I have been 3 times now, I would have no qualms about making future visits as there is generally a change each year.

Nature & Parks
Forests
New Forest National Park, located in Hampshire and Wiltshire in southwest England, became a national park in 2005. It is known for its picturesque landscapes, ancient trees, ponies, small towns and villages. The area offers tranquility amidst the urban sprawl of southern England. The park includes the former South Hampshire Coast Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty within its borders.
I spent a truly lovely week here. There are so many amazing walks to do, wildlife to see & ponies, donkeys & cows roaming freely. It is a truly beautiful area of the country & I highly recommend a visit.
Sally M — Google review
This is truly a place you should visit at least once when in the UK. We had a short 3-day cycling trip here. Everything was wonderful — from the scenery to the people. Just a note: you should prepare an offline map before coming, as in some areas the signal is very weak and you can hardly use online maps.
Khánh N — Google review
The rebirth of Foxlease Park, nice to see it back up and running, volunteered here back in February? And it was just nice to see it with life and music... Nice little room in the coach house, could do with an extra pillow, but nice time.
Matt W — Google review
Absolutely beautiful forest, we saw so many horses and lots of cows! We didn’t manage to see any deers. The views are breathtaking and there are many different routes you can take. There is some free parking near Rockford sandpit. You aren’t allowed to feed or pet the animals
Vicky F — Google review
The New Forest is a brilliant place for families, especially with kids. The free-roaming ponies, donkeys, and other animals make it feel magical, and places like the Wildlife Park add more chances to see deer, otters, and birds. There are plenty of easy walking trails too, such as at Bolderwood Deer Sanctuary, and lots of open spaces that are perfect for picnics. Camping is well set up with designated sites, ranging from rustic fields to family-friendly spots with toilets and showers. Wild camping isn’t allowed, but the official sites give you space for kids to play and a good base to explore. Shops are small village stores or farm shops rather than big supermarkets, and toilets are generally available at visitor centres, though sometimes basic. The park doesn’t really have a big lake for swimming or boating, and indoor play options are limited, so it’s very much an outdoor destination. If you’re prepared for nature, fresh air, and a slightly rustic feel, the New Forest is a wonderful family escape where children can explore freely and see animals up close.
Nicholas M — Google review
Beautiful place to go loads of open spaces for people to walk and cycle. Large areas for children play. Beautiful river at brockenhurst where you can often see horses and foals, cattle and sometimes donkeys and pigs.
Claire — Google review
Miles of tall trees creating dense forest. The forest offers great walking and cycling paths which link together towns and areas of interest.
Elliot T — Google review
Gorgeous place, well worth a visit if you appreciate nature. The ponies are such a treat to see. It’s also great for beginner cyclists as it has the Old Railway route created by Cycling UK. I felt like I was in a renaissance oil painting at times because the sights were so beautiful. Make sure to get out early to admire the sights as it gets very busy in August.

Nature & Parks
Nestled near Minstead, Hampshire, Furzey Gardens is a 10-acre woodland garden established in 1922. It boasts year-round displays with stunning spring and summer blooms, as well as enchanting Fairy Doors hidden throughout for young visitors to discover. This social enterprise supports individuals with learning disabilities across the region, making every visit impactful. The tranquil atmosphere offers winding paths, vibrant autumn hues, and thatched tea rooms for a relaxing escape from everyday life.
If you love your garden! You will love Furzey Gardens! The gardens are so pretty and beautiful with a lovely cafe and shop. There is a fee to enter the gardens but it’s well looked after. They had fairy houses and playground for the kids! Well worth a visit.
Sarah R — Google review
Visit 23rd May 2025 What a delightful experience. If you love flowers, don't miss Furzey Gardens. Rhododendrons and Azaleas were simply beautiful. Lovely walks amongst the flowering trees. Fabulous!
Dave H — Google review
The gardens are located down a fairly narrow lane. There is a reasonable car parking, but which could easily become overwhelmed at busy times so plan your visit accordingly. Entrance is by a “suggested donation” of £10 per adult. The gardens are OK with a number of wooded walks to enjoy. Currently, there is a “dinosaur” theme going on, probably in anticipation of the forthcoming school summer holiday. There is a nice cafe for refreshments. These are not the prettiest of gardens, but have some pleasant walks and great for children to explore and run around.
Allan — Google review
A lovely garden to spend a few hours walking around. We visited on a sunny day and our 3 year old daughter had fun looking for the fairy houses. A bonus was the Jurassic event, which had dinosaur related artwork around the grounds to also find. You can easily spend a few hours here, and there is also a nice cafe / gift shop that serves hot drinks, cakes and cream tea. Plenty of onsite parking too.
Niraj S — Google review
With a 16th century cottage and wonderful food and drink at the coffee shop what more can you ask, but you are also transported to a gorgeously laid garden with hidden fairy secrets throughout. There is also a walk through the wild meadow garden over a small stream. We visited in October and the Autumn colours were visible throughout. During the summer months this will be a must see.
Adam M — Google review
What a magical place this is... Ideal if you've got children who love fairy tales or just want to visit a magical place. A nice walkable path adorns the surrounding flowers and pond with plenty of picture opportunities for adults. A play area for children and a nicely filled café for a rest at the end. Highly recommend a visit.
Andrea M — Google review
A lovely area that is easy to walk around in a morning or afternoon. We enjoy going there on our own and with our grandchildren. It has a good children's play area that is spread out and very natural. They also put on displays during the year that add interest. The annual pass is well worth getting.
Colin W — Google review
I wish I didn't have to leave this place! Luckily, there's a house inside the grounds that you can rent out of you're like me and want to stay there for a while. Maybe one day, I'll take up that amazing offer! The staff are amazing, you can tell they're all very happy where they work and are proud to say they work there! Even the people who volunteer are happy! I just love that they employ people with disabilities there too, I have worked with people who have disabilities and find them to be the most wonderful people, but where I worked with them, it was in a centre, not like a proper job place, so I love this place even more because they really do give people who have disabilities a proper purpose and let them into the working world instead of them being in an activity centre where they can do stuff that kids do, here they get to make jams and chutneys, gardening and all sorts of real life work, instead of being in the same mundane four walls. Well done to furze gardens 👏 you have nailed it! They also get to interact with the public, all ages, which is another brilliant experience for them. Definitely done right! The grounds are extremely well looked after, very clean all round and no weeds - that I know of but then I don't know my gardening haha if there were weeds, they were pretty ones lol! It's literally like being in wonderland! Lovely themes too, to keep the children entertained! And they also get to learn lots too! I cannot recommend his place enough! If heaven is a place on earth, it's here!

New Forest Water Park is a popular destination in the New Forest, offering a wide range of activities for visitors. The 4,000 square meter inflatable aqua park provides an exciting obstacle course on the lake, perfect for family fun and friendly competition. For those who prefer to stay dry, there are options to enjoy watching the action or capturing memorable moments on camera. Additionally, the park offers activities such as wakeboarding, kayaking, and even corporate events.
What a place!!! Have used the inflatable park many times, the teenage kids love it, young kids, young adults and even us oldies (brings out some youth in us I guess) I also use the wake park regularly. 5 point cable in a ring so can get 6 people on at any one time. Not always the case and you can ask for gaps if suitable. They also do slow sessions for beginners. But even on a busy session you'll get so much time on the water you'll be wiped out... That is either you'll be knackered or actually have wiped out on one of the many awesome features! Kit hire available. Cafe on site with real nice fresh pizza oven food and a bar up the top for post activity chill out time. Can't comment on camping though as I haven't used that facility. The owners are awesome people who will be there most days. The staff are well trained, friendly and super knowledgeable so if you're needing the next step for boarding, just ask them and they will help. Other activities like kayaking and SUP are also available.
T H — Google review
Went wakeboarding and then on the aqua park afterwards. It was such good fun. We went on a Friday (free parking) at the end of September so it was pretty quiet. Ben was our one to one tutor on the wakeboarding which I'd never done before but managed to get up first time. Ben was an excellent instructor, very encouraging, friendly and full of positivity and tips on how to improve, I had a smile on my face the whole time. We then had an hour on the aqua park which was a great laugh, smiles all the way. Didn't have any food/drink so can't comment on that , but had a great time and would definitely go back again especially during quieter periods.
J D — Google review
I love it here! Staff are all friendly and smiley. Also super useful with tips on the wake park. The wake is generally pretty empty so I can get a good session in. Pricing is very good. Food is decent. The inflatable park is amazing fun and the lifeguards do a good job.
Jonny D — Google review
A fantastic day out for the family! Our nephews have been to the water park for the last two summers when they’ve been to visit us in Brighton and absolutely love the day out. The first thing they said when they got off of the water park was “how much is it for an hour?” To see if they could use their pocket money to go again. Brilliant facilities and friendly staff. Would highly recommend a visit.
Charlotte M — Google review
The facilities and activities are excellent. The lower rating reflects their policy of not allowing you to bring a picnic because they sell food. This is true and I have no issues with the vendors or their offer. What is unacceptable is trying to grab more money after paying for the activity and parking. Many families cannot afford £50 for lunch and drinks so bringing your own food makes sense. Other rival attractions do not have this policy. People were understandably ignoring this. Do they want families who cannot afford to eat out to go hungry?
Will L — Google review
Great place to go, plenty of seating for those not participating. Places to eat and even a bar. Sell swim shorts (my son forgot his 🙈) and T-shirts and bits. Lots of fun, but not for unfit as my husband found out! 😂
Gemma D — Google review
This is such a great day out. You have to get there and hour before your allotted time which seems a little excessive however, there is plenty of seating and also a cafe. You get an hour on the apparatus which is plenty of time. They also do other water sports there. Great for a birthday party or just a day out with children/friends
Melanie B — Google review
Great hour of climbing over inflatables. Efficient processing before the activity. Brilliant viewing platform. Great cup of tea and beer with excellent service. Highly recommend as an activity for kids and adults and spectators.

The Avon Tyrrell Outdoor Activity Centre is an ideal place to spend a summer day. It offers family-friendly activities such as biking and kayaking, as well as more challenging pursuits such as abseiling and bushcraft. The staff are friendly and helpful, and the camping facilities are well maintained.
Amazing place took a group of SEN for the third year running. Extremely well looked after the staff were amazing and accommodating to our needs the activities were brilliant adaptation made where necessary will probably return again next year. Great weekend had by all.

We have just enjoyed a family break at the Lakeside campsite. Perfect for children with a little park close to the tents. We had a fantastic time kayaking and there are many other activities we'd like to try another time. Grounds are beautiful. Facilities for campers could be improved. Showers a dribble with no temperature control or shelf to put glasses etc. Washing up basins are knee height and back breaking. Rubbish and recycling bins are too small for the volume of campers. However, facilities were regularly cleaned. There is a strict 'quiet time' between 10pm and 7am which we liked (although being directly under a flight path broke the peace). Sadly a large group were up one night screaming and shouting until the early morning despite staff telling them to keep it down. There's always one! Staff couldn't have been more apologetic and the next day told the group they'd be asked to leave if it happened again. Would like to visit again to try more activities.
Hannah R — Google review
We had a great time doing the raft building activity for a hen do. Our instructor Rachel was amazing, her instructions were clear so we made strong rafts but she also set up great games for us. The site had great facilities for changing and we would love to come back to stay on the campsite.

I went to Avon tyrrell recently with my youth club for a little holiday with them & i stayed in the Avon Lodge & all the facilities were really well equipped & all staff were very supportive & were all really approachable & the surrounding area & all activities i did were a joy to do & to be nearby as-well & i will definitely go back again whenever i can I Strongly & Really recommend Avon Tyrrel to all youth clubs out there to go there for an adventure weekend with them cause of how amazingly fun mine was recenlty with Camp Mohawk
William B — Google review
Cafe was barely open. Staff shortage apparently. Phone connected to WiFi very rarely and no normal phone signal. I didn’t mind but my dad didn’t like that showers were mixed sex.
Martin S — Google review
Great location, kids had an amazing time would definitely visit again. Only downside was unisex toilets and showers not very clean, we had our own in the caravan so wasn’t so much of a problem but would not have enjoyed my stay if I had to use the public showers and toilets.
S X — Google review
We took a caravan and camped in the lakeside field. Access to the field is down a long narrow, winding unmade road with large bumps and tight corners through trees, not for the faint hearted or larger vans. While our pitch near the lake was level enough, the pitches nearest the house are on a slope. In this field there is no grey water disposal site. Most campers had tents. The site was full and the unisex toilet and shower blocks became dirty quite quickly. One toilet/shower block was not really sufficient or needed cleaning more frequently. Litter was also a bit of a problem on the site. The site has a wide range of outdoor activities you can purchase - these look great. A small playground for kids was well used and there are woods to explore. Location is great for the New Forest and for the sea side (8 miles). The site is directly under the landing patch for Bournemouth airport.

Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve, located near Ringwood, is a former collection of gravel pits transformed into a 159-hectare haven of woods and grassland. The reserve offers stunning lakeside walks, 8km of rolled gravel paths, and six bird hides for public use. With around 500 bird species, the site is teeming with life. From redpolls to kingfishers, the diverse wildlife includes an array of wild birds.
Beautiful walks. Scenery. Getting down with nature is a must. Brilliantly presented with great indoor view sheds to watch wildlife. So bring ya cameras. And binoculars, you will have a very good time.
Graham F — Google review
Lovely day out well set out and helpful people to give information. I loved the little signs dotted about giving relevant information on the plants and wildlife you might see.
Tracy S — Google review
Lovely well kept nature reserve! Fantastic to see and hear some many different species of birds!
Alicia K — Google review
Such a beautiful and peaceful place to spend sometime in. The paths are all level and great for folk using wheel chairs. There was at least one motorised one hired out while we were there. Toilets on site. The hides are great to view the wildlife and in particular the birds. I saw a heron catch a fish and fly off. Note to take binoculars next time. Also picked loads of blackberries. We then finished off our time with lunch at Hockey's farm shop and farmyard cafe (a 5 minute drive away).
Julie I — Google review
If you like a walk in the woods with stop offs to watch the birds both in the woods and on the lakes, then this place is for you. There are well marked trails which are easy walking. They are also pushchair and wheelchair accessible but there are some kissing gates which could be difficult to negotiate with a chair.
Rachel L — Google review
We had a lovely visit to Blashford Lakes Nature Reserve. It was so peaceful and beautifully maintained. Parking was easy, and all the bird hides were clean and well-kept, which made the experience even more enjoyable. A great spot to unwind and connect with nature. I felt so lucky to have spotted a blue flash of a woodpecker before we left.
M R — Google review
Amazing place to visit. Free parking and toilets. Hides are great and if your patient you might even spot a kingfisher whoosh past.
Jonathan M — Google review
Been going here for years and it’s great, but ruined by the rudeness of the regulars in the hides. It’s a known problem as there are new signs up saying to be courteous etc, but it’s not working. They’re always talking at full volume in the hides, swearing constantly even when there are children in the hides - no respect at all, not for people or for the birds.

Fordingbridge Recreation Ground Playpark, situated on the outskirts of the New Forest, is a charming country town destination located along the banks of the River Avon. This renowned play area is well-known for its iconic Great Bridge, featuring seven elegant arches that span across the river. Originally known as "Forde," Fordingbridge earned its name from this very bridge when it was first constructed. The playpark offers a delightful setting for families to gather and enjoy quality time together.
This was an unexpected find! What an incredible space for locals. The play park is well equipped including a trampoline and sand pit. There’s an open air swimming pool mainly for kids (we visited on a very hot day and the pool was busy). Then there’s the general park/garden area to wander around, dog friendly and with a kiosk for drinks snacks and ice cream. Add to that the riverside location and little ‘beach’ area for paddling and a gorgeous view of the bridge. Really impressed.

Lovely place with play facilities, a quiet memorial garden and river walk. Beautiful setting. Only downside, accessibility for mobility scooters very difficult with the type of entrances into the park. Main gate locked.

Really lovely playground and picnic area. The outdoor paddle area is really lovely and enclosed for safety with non- slip tiles. The play park is really nice and the sandpit is well looked after. Really great variety as well for all ages. Young and old with climbing frames. Good for calisthenic workouts.

Beautiful village, the open area was lovely to walk, play park, river that you could get in and enjoy, fishing, feeding the ducks, BBQ area and sports ground. Great for a picnic if you don't mind being surrounded by ducks. Parking across the road wasn't too expensive.
G M — Google review
A great family place. We enjoyed sitting next to the river watching the wildlife pass us by. Further on, children were playing on the shore splashing around having fun. There is a children's play park and also a skateboard park. A lovely cafe is on the grounds from which we enjoyed a cup of tea and cake. There are toilets on site, but due to the smell and condition I'd only use in an emergency . These really need to be cleaned regularly. So to sum this up, the place is great for the day bit on the downside the toilet facilities let it down.
Trevor P — Google review
Lovely park with good swings and climbing frames for the younger kids. Picturesque spot by the river. Unfortunately badly let down by the amount of litter scattered around, plastic bottles, paper and discarded cans left by people who should know better and unsupervised young kids chasing and upsetting the ducks in the river even though there are signs saying please respect nature and parents must supervise children at the waters edge. I remember coming here as a child with my family. Such a shame as it used to be such a nice place to sit and enjoy the peaceful scenery.
Ben M — Google review
Lovely park, plenty for the kids to do and a really lovely spot by the river. Watch your snacks though! The ducks are very brave! Toilets were clean and loads of space for a picnic.

Hollands Wood Campsite is a nature lover's paradise, offering a variety of camping options amidst lush forest surroundings. The campsite preserves the natural features of the land, with pitches nestled among ferns and winding through tree lines, providing both seclusion and open spaces to explore. Conveniently located within walking distance of Brockenhurst village, it offers the perfect blend of tranquility and access to onsite facilities.
Superb stay at this beautiful and peaceful campsite. Staff were super helpful and the facilities are extremely clean. Lots of space for older children to explore on bicycles. A little coffee shop. Stunning walks straight into the forest and ponies and cattle free range. Everyone was respectful of nature and the staff are very hardworking and helpful. Superb organisation and management here, we felt safe and secure. We will definitely be back.
Ele C — Google review
Hollands Wood is a great campsite in harmony with the natural countryside. Stay in amongst the trees (there are no marked pitches, but guidelines to respect others), ponies wandering past, just a totally restful place. The facilities are excellent, discretely tucked away in the landscape, toilets and showers, washing up, launderette, even a dog wash. And the staff are just great, always a smile and help if needed. With Brockenhurst just a mile away, this is an idyllic place for a break.
Joanne S — Google review
Our new forest camping holiday was lovely. The campsite had wonderful views across the fields full of wild horses in the mornings. The toilets and shower blocks were clean and tidy. I very much enjoyed the fact you didn’t have set pitches and could choose where you positioned yourselves.
Katy D — Google review
Lush staff, great location. Perfect setting. Beautiful wild animals. Great level pitching in woodlands then big open field which catches the sunrise and sun set. No set pitching can set up where you wish just keeping space from others. I'd pitch up between the toilet/shower block and the field and the other side is nearer the main road

It was lovely! Went for my boyfriend’s birthday, just us two and the dog and it was great! The location is perfect and the staff are super friendly! The facilities were really useful, the location was easy to find and set up camp. Lovely waking up to pony’s outside our tent one morning as well!
Teun L — Google review
This is by far the best campsite I have visited. The site was busy but due to the vast size of the site, there was always enough space, enough showers etc. Staff were excellent on arrival and politely did their rounds to ensure the upkeep. My kids loved it as its perfect for bike riding. If you want to feel like you are in a forest camping, you cannot beat this site for that experience. No open fires, but this is common nationally and what I would expect now which is fine. Wild pony's roam so this should be factored. We had one walk into our tent to say hello one morning.
Boshe B — Google review
Our first time camping, ever, and what a great place to start. Campsite is well run, facilities cleaned daily. We were greeted by Alfie who was friendly and informative. Proximity of the village is a great bonus. No nuisance from other campers, children and teenagers very well behaved. It was a relaxing first time camping trip and we will be back.
Kas K — Google review
We had a lovely time at this campsite. The toilets and showers were always clean whenever we went in. The staff were really friendly and welcoming. The horses were just roaming round freely which was very exciting. There is a rule not to pitch up within 6 meters of other tents which everyone seemed to tick to which allowed for privacy. We went in August and it was very buy but didn't feel overcrowded due to the rules. It's a lovely family campsite and we always felt safe.

Back of Beyond Touring Camping & Glamping Park in Dorset is an exclusive adult-only camping and glamping site. The park offers a peaceful environment with wildlife lakes and woodlands, including a Site of Special Scientific Interest. Dogs are welcome, and the clean, comfortable yurts and helpful staff ensure a great camping experience. The area is known for its trails, wild heathland, native ponies, and diverse wildlife.
We have just come home from spending a fantastic week at Back of Beyond campsite. This has got to be the best campsite we have ever stayed at. Our allocated pitch was the perfect size for our tent and was close to all amenities. The toilets and showers were immaculate. There is a lovely wooded area which our dog loved walking around in the evening. We loved spending the evening in Montys Bar and the 80s night on Sunday was absolutely fantastic. The staff are so friendly and are always around to help. We are already looking at booking again next year.
Helen Y — Google review
Back of Beyond is an outstanding campsite and easily one of the most enjoyable we’ve stayed at. The setting feels wonderfully secluded and tranquil, making it a perfect escape from the busyness of city life, yet it’s still very accessible and not far from the motorway. The facilities were excellent, spotless showers and toilets, well-kept pitches, and a lovely woodland area that was ideal for evening walks. Monty’s Bar added a great social touch, and the 80s night was a brilliant highlight of our stay. The staff deserve a mention too, welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help. We visited with friends and my girlfriend, and the whole experience was relaxing, fun, and memorable. We’re already looking forward to booking again.
Nanda H — Google review
We spent 3 nights at this site and were very disappointed with the whole experience as we thought we were going to a lovely welcoming site however it turned out to be the complete opposite . I can only describe it as feeling like you’re staying in a detention centre with all the rules & regulations. We were told on arrival if your dogs bark in the bar you have to leave immediately and calm them down before you return, as we couldn’t guarantee that our dogs wouldn’t bark [I think most dogs bark] we didn’t bother with the bar and it’s only open between 4pm - 8pm so don’t think we were missing much. The shop sells very little and what it does sell is ridiculously overpriced such as a 4 pack of ICELAND quarter pounders which they are re selling at £4.50? The cheapest wine was £12 which resembled a cheap watered down wine you could get out of a supermarket for £3. There is nowhere to walk to from the site unless you want to walk along a busy dual carriageway. The pitch we were on had weeds growing up through the table and chairs on the pitch as well as the grass being long and covered in bald patches and weeds. The park gives the impression if you are not a regular at this site then you’re not welcome, I can honestly say I’ve never been to such an unfriendly place and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone. We’ve been going to sites up and down the UK for many years and have luckily never came across one like this before. Thank you for your reply. For the record our 3 dogs are sociable and well behaved and didn’t cause any problems during our stay. We didn’t go to your bar because we didn’t feel welcome after the comment about the dogs, I don’t need guidance on how to manage my dogs in a public place but I can’t guarantee that they won’t bark if other dogs are barking. You clearly don’t like constructive feedback as your response appears to be the same to all negative reviews. However, I notice you haven’t commented on the state of our pitch!
Shary M — Google review
This was our second visit and cant fault this campsite. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Has off site meal vans visiting every night. Lovely little bar which opens at 4pm. Our pitch was lovely, big and right by bar/reception area so perfect for us. Its doggy heaven and all on the park are on leads. Booked to come again later this year which will be coming again next year.
Jayne H — Google review
We decided to book here from a friend’s recommendation. Got to say it has been exceptional. Very helpful & friendly staff. Loverly site/pitches for all. Very clean service areas (wash/shower areas). Good walks, a “natural” pitch & putt golf course, a couple of small nature ponds, a good bar and local evening food vans which come onto site (excellent quality from them too). And all of the visiting guests are friendly too which is due to the sites ambience. A very relaxed stay. We’ll definitely recommend and return.
Mark Y — Google review
Beautiful and calm location, staff were attentive and friendly and the on site pub was reasonably priced. We also enjoyed the nightly food vans, wish the baked potatoes was more often than once. The fish and chip van was disappointing as the chips were cooked from frozen and scampi was over cooked. Aside from the chip van we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and as promised the site was silent after 10pm which we were very grateful for as we were seeking a relaxing break.
L M — Google review
Lovely campsite, great bar, clean facilities, only problem for us was so dog friendly you felt overwhelmed by the amount of dogs & their noise. One man let his dog poo on the end of our pitch instead of using the provided dog exercise areas. Not the dogs fault, but disgusting behaviour. Staff are fantastic here though and well worth a visit. We’ll be back I’m sure.
Liz G — Google review
Really loved staying at this campsite. There's a lovely bar and different food vans daily. Perfect woodland walks for the dog (and us) right on the doorstep, and a quiet site for over 18's only. I look forward to our return, and my pup looks forward to his next doggy ice cream!

Hill Cottage Farm Caravan & Camping Park is a family holiday park located just five minutes from the New Forest National Park, spanning 40 acres on the Hampshire and Dorset border. The site offers spacious pitches, a shepherd's hut for added comfort, and a play park for children. Pets are also welcome. Visitors have praised the automated facilities and approachable staff, as well as the peaceful atmosphere despite being quite full.
Really wonderful site. So quiet with an amazing little trail linked on. There is a little play park for young children and the facilities are really lovely, clean and well looked after. The showers were very hot but that's better than too cold. No fires allowed which is a shame but no Mark down for that. Hard standing and grass set up options and electric hook up. My kids absolutely loved it. Can't wait to return!
Katie H — Google review
Very noisy at weekends, mostly due to large groups being allowed and very minimal warden presence. No control over large groups who were drinking and making lots of noise well after 10 pm and letting their kids ride electric bikes around the site at high speed and over people's pitches. Showers are fixed temperature (very hot). The shower block is not large enough for the number of guests. Large, self-contained pitches are good and have privacy hedging
Donna B — Google review
This was our first stay at the campsite. We had a friend staying and they made sure they put us basically opposite which was very accommodating. Tent pitch sizes are great. We had electric hookup. Water and grey waste for our pitch. Everything is kept to a high standard including the fantastic showers, toilets, washing up area and laundry room. Little breakfast coffee shop was also great on site. Family loved the little park and the woodland walk. So well maintained and respected by all. No rubbish laying around or anything. Will definitely return here and highly recommend for all family sizes/couples. I believe by no commercial vehicles they mean sign writing as we use my personal panel van (not sign written) for all our camping gear and had no issues. WiFi didn’t reach us but didn’t affect the holiday. I also noticed everything was made accessible for any and all disabilities so that’s a plus for whom ever needs to know!
Dan S — Google review
Good location nice woodland walks great photo opportunity in blossom tunnel adequately sized well maintained pitches and close electric points. Children's play area is just enough to keep little minds busy over a short break. Constructive improvement comments, family/disabled wash room the shower is too hot and there's no hand drier? Single shower cubicles are a touch too small and need more hooks. Disappointed to be informed No commercial vehicles and to find vans (commercial not camper) everywhere, we struggled to pack everything into the car when we have a van we could easily travel in.
Robert L — Google review
Great site, we stayed for 5 nights in our tourer. Generously sized grass pitch (take chocks as slightly sloping), very very clean, facilities good although showers could do with some more hooks and shelves for shampoo etc. Wifi Good. Phone service (EE) good. Great location for exploring. Will definitely be going back
Tom R — Google review
Just got back today had a brilliant time the site is superb very friendly and very well kept site the grounds are great for walks. there's a wooded walk and a walk upto three ponds showers and toilets are excellent well maintained and clean Theres a Thai restaurant on site and a young woman who severs coffee in the mornings is brilliant. The staff are very friendly we will definitely be going back

I recently enjoyed a delightful five-night getaway at the Verwood Camping and Caravanning Club Site, and it truly exceeded my expectations. From the moment I arrived, the friendly and welcoming staff made me feel right at home. The pitches were spacious, and the facilities were well-maintained, providing everything needed for a comfortable stay. The surrounding area was stunning, perfect for exploring nature.
A very welcoming site. Straight way a warm, pleasant and personal reception from Jenny made this immediately a home from home. We were shown and allowed to select our own pitch that best met our needs. Tents, mobile homes and caravans are all allowed to mix and match over the site, with electric hookup available at almost all pitches, if wanted. The facilities here are very clean and well maintained. There is noise from the near by road but pitch on the far side and you sre unlikely to hear traffic, if you close its not that bad and easily ignored. Would certainly go back.
Paul G — Google review
Lovely peaceful site. Friendly staff and spotless spacious warm facilities. Just be aware that unless you have transport it's a good hours walk into Verwood and some parts of very busy country roads have no pavement or verges with one part at a bridge is really unnerving. There is a walk through housing estates which we did on the way back but it's even longer. Taxi's are nigh on impossible to get as they don't like to come up to the camp. We have a motorhome and sometimes it's not practical to take it out to pop to the shops or as was our case visit family. Other than that everything else was perfect.
Irene B — Google review
Well looked after campsite. Toilet block and showers are clean and all work well. Didn't have to queue at any point. Small playground for younger children. Games room with pool table, games, books etc. Shop has very limited supplies. Not much in walking distance. Very busy road which can be extremely noisy when you are trying to go to sleep. Staff were very friendly. A pleasant stay. Thank you.

Located on the outskirts of Verwood with the New Forest close by. The site is well maintained and the staff are welcoming and friendly. There is a woodland walk accessible from the campsite, and a golf course opposite. There are many places to visit within the area for all the family. Bournemouth and Poole with sandy beaches are 25 minutes drive. There is a good pub 5 minutes walk from the site selling good beer and food. Verwood town is 2 mins drive or 25 minute walk via the golf course.
Martyn H — Google review
Me and my wife took our four year old and two year old kids and Spent three days two nights here. We were on a jumbo pitch without electric in our massive eight man tent, there was plenty of room and we were far enough away from others to not have to worry too much about kids making noise early in the morning. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Really good amenities clean and tidy shower/toilet block. Well organised. The play park was clean tidy and well kept as was the rest of the site. The games room with the air hockey and pool tables as well as the skittles alley were a nice touch and the kids enjoyed that. The site is well located. With a super market and a few pubs within a few miles aswell as theme parks and attractions. All in all a very pleasant experience especially for our kids first time camping.

We have just returned from a lovely 5 night stay at this excellent site. From the moment we arrived we knew it was a good choice. The staff are all friendly, helpful and welcoming . Pitches and facilities are good and the surrounding area is beautiful. Our departure was delayed due to a problem. The staff could not have been more kind, caring and helpful. They found a pitch for us and suggested a few local places to ring for help. Within a few hours we were sorted and arrived home safely later that day. Many thanks to all the staff and to Dan , a local mobile caravan engineer ,who was brilliant too.
Jane G — Google review
We had one night's stay here and loved it. Everything from the friendly welcome, to checking that we had a nice stay. The staff and facilities are great, a decent amount of hot shower water was definitely a winner, bests the usual dribble you get at other sites. The kids playground was fine but the weather didn't allow much more that a fleeting go. One winner was definitely the games room, it pool, air hockey, foosball, books, drawing paper etc. We stayed in a motorhome on a hard stand near but there is also tent pitches too. All in all I would recommend.

Nestled on the edge of Godshill Inclosure, adventurers can embark on the scenic Avon Valley Path leading towards Ringwood. Accessible parking is available along the roadside or at an official car park on Castle Hill, where visitors are rewarded with stunning views after a bit of a climb. For those looking to explore further, Folds Farm serves as a great starting point for your journey. The area surrounding Godshill Inclosure offers two main attractions: the enclosure itself and its picturesque surroundings.
There are two elements to this area, firstly the enclosure. Good parking with no charge, generally all the walking areas are quite flat. The woods encompass a wide range of wildlife with various routes to take. It is quite easy to lose your bearings but Google maps works quite well to guide you back to the carpark. Just outside of the carpark is a great area for a picnic. The second place to go is to the viewing point, this looks out over the countryside with a spectacular view.
David S — Google review
I found Godshill Inclosure by accident and so glad I did. It's a beautiful spot for a picnic. There are also some lovely walks to be had in the woods. Parking is easy. Entrance and parking are free. Dogs should be kept under control, ideally on a lead as there are New Forest ponies around. The ground is fairly even if you have mobility issues. But please note there are no public toilets. Just remember not to pet or feed the ponies and donkeys that roam freely in the New Forest

Lovely location, forest walks are beautiful and also pram friendly. Grassy area next to the car park is spoiled by lazy dog walkers not cleaning up after their pets!

We enjoyed a lovely walk around here, open grass walks and quiet shady woodland tracks, with plenty of free parking. Only negative was a fallen tree across a track, very hard to get underneath or over or around, but we saw a ranger and reported it so hopefully it will be dealt with soon. Can recommend a visit to the Horse and Groom in Wood Green afterwards. Plenty of ponies and donkeys share this beautiful place. Perfect for walkers, cyclists and riders. Plan to return in autumn.
