Playground
Riverview Park, situated on West Eighth Street at the northwest corner of Rio Salado Parkway and Dobson, has recently undergone renovations and is now a popular recreational spot. The park boasts an impressive playground with various features such as climbing structures, shaded picnic areas, and a splash pad. Additionally, it offers a Community Fishing Lake stocked with fish throughout the year.
This is always a fun park to go to. A large man made lake to feed the ducks, huge playground, splash pad area... great for running, jogging and playing! You can fish at the lake too (be sure to have a permit). All ages are always seen at this park. Across the street from.shops and restaurants too.

Editing my review as they do provide parking during the games. You just have to pull in like you're going to the game and tell the attendants you are going to the park. Be certain that's what you are doing though, as they'll warn that you will be towed if not at the park and at the game/stadium. Other than that it was amazing!
Zachary R — Google review
I haven't been to this park in maybe 10 years. When I first came there was a seesaw but the park is still beautiful. The breeze over here is amazing. Why don't I get this breeze in The South side 😭❓ either way it was beautiful. It was great to see all the kids come out and take prom pictures and chill with the kiddos. We even stayed at the Sheraton across the lake and even that was great from the pool to the splash pad wore my kids out which was great for me Mother's Day weekend.
Capribra B — Google review
Lots of parking on the opposite side but not any well marked pedestrian crossovers. In the evening parking is available. Safe for women to exercise solo or walk pets. I Take my dog around the lake once or twice. Even though later in evening your see homeless people it’s still peaceful and so far safe for me. Lots of parents bring their kids to the splash pad and playground, lots of yoga and teenagers photographing for graduations and prom. Many people are fishing and feeding the waterfowl. You can view turtles easily and they have nice hippo & crocodile floaters. No swimming.
Summer S — Google review
This has to be the best playground. Such interesting and fun things for kids and adults including something that looks like a hamster wheel, a standing zip line (be careful with this as falling is likely), challenging slides, etc. There is a pond with fish and walking trails. They also have some picnic tables and free parking. Great location. Not much shade however. Lots of dogs being walked as there are grassy areas.
Medical U — Google review
Nice park tucked between apartments and shops. It has a man-made pond, shaded seating, and flat trails for walking. The playground is big, and they had sprinklers running for the kids — perfect stop if you're headed to HMart or Asiana Market.
Rose K — Google review
We loved it (us as parents and our 2 yr old)! Great play structure for smaller kiddos with appropriate sized slides and stairs and things to climb. Looking forward to when our kids are older and can use the giant climbing structure (yikes!) great area with a sort of rock wall for little bit older kids as well. Amazing number and design of covered picnic areas, lots of grass, and awesome splash pad!!
Liz B — Google review
This is a lovely park to walk and play for thrle kiddos. I wish it wasn't so hot I would visit there daily. I didn't live far from it. I know once it starts to cool off, it will be perfect.

Nature & Parks
Pioneer Park, located in downtown Mesa, Arizona, is an 18-acre community park that offers a wide range of activities for visitors. The park features volleyball and basketball courts, covered picnic areas, a playground for kids, as well as softball and baseball fields. It also includes water spouts for children to play in and ample restroom facilities. The well-landscaped park has wide sidewalk paths and walking trails that allow visitors to explore the beautiful desert surroundings.
Park is huge lots of families, sports activities very friendly very safe a waterpark when you’re hot so you can cool off plenty of soccer fields to catch up on your football basketball horseshoes and extracurricular activities The playground for the kids goes up so high it’s scary for adults completely accessible by anyone due to the amazing stairs and ramps leading up to the playground. This park is overall one of the best parks I’ve ever been to and checks all the boxes I recommend it to anyone tables grills lights, electricity anything else you need they have it and it’s very, very clean and friendly, if I didn’t say that already.
Michael P — Google review
Nice place to go enjoy the day, nice re done park, and water pad, drinking fountains, police bot in the field, bathrooms, tables an grills, enough shade, and space, train, and close to train, Mormon temple, stores, restaurants, Library, and of course Pete's.
NEW M — Google review
Loved it. The parks here in Arizona are so much better than California. They even have water to cool down in and a cute train to look at.
Shantel G — Google review
Though it's well maintained and they've clearly spent millions on upgrading it, the culture is still rough with unleashed unfix dogs, drug paraphernalia, and homeless occupying the same spaces as children. Totally still worth the visit but perhaps some vigilance would be advisable. The multilevel play ground is easily the tallest I've ever seen!
Geoffrey D — Google review
Super cool large unique playground suitable for all ages
Dulce Q — Google review
Frequent organized events. Horse shoe pits, basketball courts, a Locomotive and many picnic tables.
Humblefloyd E — Google review
What a spacious, fun filled place with activities for all types of enthusiasts. It was an amazing experience as from the street it didn't look so loaded with such things as softball and baseball fields, water spouts for kids to play in or to use a meditation moment. It also has an abundance of picnic areas. It was well landscaped with equipment in good condition and ample restroom places. The park is so big it was difficult to see from one end to the other with many wide sidewalk paths.
Tony K — Google review
The best! This is awesome, at least in the middle of the day on a weekday. So many unique play structures and ways to play. I recommend having one parent per child, if you have toddlers like me. It's rather large. Oh! And there is a huge train and a water feature that's even turned on in February!

Park
Desert Arroyo Park is a 58-acre protected desert landscape featuring a looped trail system and an outdoor desert classroom. Visitors can enjoy walking along clearly marked off-road trails as well as paved and gravel walkways, with opportunities to spot wildlife such as rabbits, coyotes, and birds. The park offers a serene environment for relaxation and family time, although some visitors have noted the absence of restroom facilities.
Nice easy trails. There are two 3/4 mile loops and also paved paths with some picnic areas. There’s a small playground and a spot you can play these giant chimes. Lots of jumping cactus so definitely be mindful of how close to get to them! I walked the entire area in about 45 minutes at a moderate pace.
Union M — Google review
We visited on a weekday and had the place to ourselves. Encountered a peaceful and serene vibe while there, with easy trail walking and enjoyable sights and scenery. Will visit again. Do take water, you'll need it.
Raymond E — Google review
I really liked this newer park near Mesa with its great setup and focus on teaching about the desert. It has free entry, nice trails, plenty of shaded spots, and even free Wi-Fi overall a great place to visit.
Herman M — Google review
A true preserve featuring different areas devoted to various forms of desert life. Walking trails abound, including both paved and unpaved areas. There is a playground located near the parking lot. Beware the jumping cholla and wear closed-toe shoes.
Amanda M — Google review
We had a lovely afternoon on our first visit to the park!!! Great walking options of paved and gravel walkways. We saw a rabbit, coyote, and birds. We will be frequent visitors to the park!!! Our dogs had a wonderful time too!!!
Catie C — Google review

Nature & Parks
Nestled in the Salt River Valley, Usery Mountain Regional Park spans 3,648 acres and offers a romantic escape amid breathtaking landscapes. Established in 1967, this park is rich in history and features ancient canal systems dating back to the 1860s. With 29 miles of multi-use trails, it's perfect for camping, archery, hiking, and off-road mountain biking.
We had a nice hike up to Wind Cave. I enjoyed it more than my wife. The "cave" isn't overly exciting, but it is a great view of the valley. The trail was easy to follow, but isn't exactly an easy trail. There are several spots that could be tricky. We saw several older hikers that were having some difficulties and turned back at about the halfway point. If you can take healthy steps up and can handle very uneven walking surfaces, you should be fine. The other caution point would be that there are several areas on the trail that have very fine rocks on the surface that can make it a little slippy. Good shoes and a couple bottles of water are a must.
Kevin M — Google review
We love camping at Maricopa County parks. They do a fantastic job in every way. Campsites are well spaced, clean, in working order and amenities are as described. Even the black water dumping station here at Usery is the nicest one we have been to! There are more popular parks and we enjoy them all but Usery is really a beautiful park. It is also a best of both worlds place to stay while exploring this area of Arizona. You are in the wilderness and close to the Salt River. Lakes, Superstition Mountain, Tonto National Forest but also shopping, restaurants, tourist destinations, a top notch shooting range and lovely golf courses. I am charmed by this park and rate it as one of the best in Arizona right up there with the very popular Lost Dutchman State Park! Great job Usery!
Allison W — Google review
Great hiking area to soak in the gorgeous Arizona landscape and wildlife - especially the cacti! Some of the largest we’d ever seen, and the park allows nature to take its course so you will come across cacti in various stages of life, even when they’ve fallen over and have started returning to nature. The trails we took were flat and relatively easy, but the ground is often rocky, sandy and a bit uneven to wear appropriate shoes of course!
Julian L — Google review
This is a really nice campground just minutes away from Mesa, AZ, and close to the lower Salt River Recreation Area. There are some wonderful trails, everything from easy. To moderately difficult, short to long (9+ miles). There is water and 50/30 amp service, but no sewer. Restrooms and showers are well kept and clean. Nice and quiet!
Paul H — Google review
I've been to a few outdoor ranges, but this one has to be one of the best and most professional ranges around! The staff were very nice and made sure my concealed gun was not loaded prior to entering the range. When I asked questions because I wasn't familiar with their policies, they answered professionally and not like at some ranges who treated me like I was an idiot for not knowing something. I highly recommend trying this range!
Chris F — Google review
A beautiful and well maintained park, offering numerous trails of all abilities, with an excellent visitors center. Employees are enthusiastic and obviously enjoy their positions.
Michael R — Google review
Camping here is a must! I did not have time to explore it all but I will be back! Great drone area as well!
The L — Google review
Well run county RV park. Clean restrooms. Spaces are well seperated with water and power hookups. Picnic tables at each site. Plenty of room in back in sites to park next to your trailer. The staff rakes the entire site after each guest. Only downside is the trails to the restroom end at a campsite not in-between campsites so your walking right next to someone camp site.

Red Mountain Park is a nature-rich green space offering a variety of sports facilities, from baseball to volleyball, and even pickleball/tennis courts. The park features two play areas for kids and offers guided tours by professional staff to educate visitors about the local fauna. It also provides excellent customer support for event reservations and inquiries. With picturesque views, walking paths, and a pond with ducks, it's an ideal spot for family outings or leisurely walks in nature.
Mesa Park and Recreation did an awesome job with this park. And the surrounding areas. From the sports complex and the numerous bathrooms on site. Large enough for a sport venue to even a picnic with the kids. There is plenty of space to run around at. Disc golf. Fishing. Running. Walking paths. Soccer Fields. Spaces for dogs. Kids Playgrounds. Pickleball court(1).
Robert H — Google review
it was a beautiful day out. There’s an easy walking trail around the lake. The lake was bigger than I was expecting. There’s a lot of people fishing, but nobody seem to have any fish yet. One guy told me there might be some catfish down deep but they only stock it like every three months or so! Lots of places to sit on a bench and enjoy the view!
Rose C — Google review
This is a really nice park in north Mesa that is much larger than I thought. I have lived in this area for 4 years and have only driven by a few times. There are a lot of very nice areas to walk through the desert and around the small lake. I will definitely be going back to spend more time when it is cooler. Today thought I saw two bald eagles; one flew over my head and then grabbed something, probably a fish, out of the lake. It landed on top of a power pole and started chowing down. Another eagle, definitely larger, was farther down on another pole. Truly surreal as it was 104 out today.
John P — Google review
Great park, good vibes & well lite up at night time. Bathrooms were clean and friendly people. There is a pond where you can go fishing and plenty of play equipment for kids. Parking is provided and there are park rangers who ride around to make sure everything stays running smooth.

Excellent spot to fishing, running or walking, its pet friendly and great spot to celebrate birthdays or just to have a peaceful picnic, lovely playground for the little ones plus bathroom 🚻

Love taking my dog here and friends too. Beautiful 😍 and very well kept park.

This is an absolutely amazing area to just spend your day. Have a picnic or whatever it is you're doing. I personally love fishing here every once in awhile you do catch quite a bit although I usually do release. I don't know if there is a certain rule though. I highly recommend this to anybody in Apache junction, one of the best and most cleanliest parks in all of Apache

Gilbert Regional Park in Gilbert, Arizona is a family-friendly destination offering a variety of activities for all ages. The park features a large splash pad called the Falls with over 50 water features, as well as the Mountain, a 17-foot-tall playground with swings, slides, climbing structures, and a zip-line. Additionally, there's a dedicated play area for little ones called the Creek.
Good place for day picnic. Lots of options for kids to play and enjoy like a mini theme park. Loved the zipper line and the water games. They have good number of picnic tables and parking slots. Worth visiting the place with kids
Madheswaran P — Google review
This place has tons of fun stuff for kids of all ages. There’s a mini zip line, splash pad, slides, climbing walls, bike and walking trails even spots to fish. It’s perfect for a family day out, and they even have solar benches to charge your phone!
Martha F — Google review
My son and I absolutely love this park. We went for 4th of July and had a blast. The only issue I had was that it took me over 2 hours to leave the parking lot. The parking attendants did nothing but stand around and watch hundreds of people in their cars trying to leave the parking lot- cutting in line, honking, yelling. It was honestly terrifying, I’ve never experienced anything like that in my entire life.
Ashley — Google review
Gilbert Regional Park is an absolute gem for pickleball players! I recently visited and was incredibly impressed. The facilities are truly amazing—the courts are well-maintained, plentiful, and a pleasure to play on. Beyond the fantastic courts, the atmosphere created by the people here is wonderful; everyone I encountered was friendly and inviting, making for a great, welcoming experience. The park itself is beautiful and clearly well-managed. Knocking off just one star because, like any popular place, it can get busy, but overall, it's a top-notch destination for a fun game of pickleball! Highly recommend!
Barry S — Google review
We always have the best time here. Please make sure u don't let ur lils run...I know it's a DUH.. but sometimes u get excited and wanna run and play with the lils . Just don't . I fell so hard and hurt my knees really bad but it's my own fault for RUNNING . We are all taught as small children don't run by the pool or in a area that's wet . I didn't listen to my own self. Life happens just don't want any little kids to hurt themselves or a parent get hurt so bad they can't walk. I almost cried but was more embarrassed then anything else. The bathrooms and sinks are always so clean compared to other parks. The rocket the kids climb in is really cool but sometimes has dog poop in it. Idky but we have been there a few times n it's happened so beware. Sometimes people can be a little rude but stand ur ground and eventually they go away. I've only had 1 incident here with a racist women. Until she seen my niece then she shut up. Doesn't stop us from going back tho... Have fun!!
Melinda V — Google review
This is a great place to bring your dog for a walk, play pickleball, volleyball, or to bring your kids to the park. Park. Very welcoming atmosphere and so much activity for family, friends, small groups or even large groups. Also a great place to take pictures by the water. I wish they would expand this place more as they once intended to years ago for a water park. Would be great if they had some local dining or nightlife at Park.
Elizabeth G — Google review
Beautiful walk around the lake. We went there to check out some birds and found a ton of grackles, coots, and cowbirds. And a green/pocket heron too!

Dobson Ranch Park is a fantastic urban park that offers a wide range of activities for families and individuals. The park features an inclusive play area with exciting amenities such as a zip line and oversized musical instruments, catering to visitors of all abilities. Additionally, the park boasts a picturesque pond where ducks can be spotted, creating a serene atmosphere. Adjacent to the park is a public library, providing an opportunity for relaxation and cooling down after outdoor activities.
Nice park right next to a library. Plenty of areas to find with shade but playground is not shaded and does not have a splash pad. Kids of all ages seem to flock here to have fun, including teens. Nice pond and plenty of grass to play ball but no nets and its very hilly. Lots of trees.
Nikki — Google review
This park is super fun for kids and a great spot to meet up for playdates. There are different play areas with activities for all ages and the swing zip line is a big hit. The only thing that would make it better is a splash pad or water area to cool off in the sun.
Michelle P — Google review
It’s a pretty small park, but it’s nice because there’s a pond nearby where you can feed the ducks. It also has a basketball court, which is a cool bonus.
Sheryl B — Google review
Beautiful park with a playground and walking paths along the lake ( one of at least 8 in Dobson Ranch). In an arid climate like the Valley of the Sun,accessible lake fronts are a great enhancement of life. This lake allows for catch-and-release fishing ( with a permit from Dobson Ranch.) it is also possible to bring small boats here with the required permits. A great plus is the fact that there is a beautiful branch of Mesa Public Library next door.
Andriy C — Google review
This park is a great spot for a picnic with nice lake views, shady benches, and plenty of space to relax without big crowds. We brought takeout, enjoyed the peaceful vibe, watched some golfers, and plan to come back when it cools down to check out more like the big playground, walking trails, and picnic areas.
Geraldine P — Google review
This park is a great spot for kids with fun play areas for different ages, a cool swing zip line, and plenty of space for playdates. It’s next to the library with lots of parking, though a better path from the lot to the playground would help, and it could really use a splash pad to beat the heat.
Aaron B — Google review

Falcon Field Park is a unique park located next to Falcon Airport, offering a convenient stopover for travelers. The park features updated playground equipment with various options for younger kids, as well as basketball and volleyball courts. Visitors can enjoy the sight of airplanes and helicopters taking off and landing, providing an entertaining distraction. The well-maintained grassy areas and limited presence of dog waste make it a pleasant environment for picnics and playdates.
Nice park well maintained and kept pretty clean. More secluded than most parks so traffic is pretty low.

There no enclosed dog park area. There is an open area with a poop bag dispenser. Other than that it's a nice park. You can watch the planes too!
Yuvonne W — Google review
Great experience! Loved that the grass was cut, very few dog mounds (poop lol) and my kids loved it. I like that they have swings for older and babies! Many benches that were in decent condition for a picnic lunch and play date with my kiddos!! Thanks!!!
Devona K — Google review
This park gets very little maintenance. The storm took out several trees and a cabana which I'm sure the city will not replace. Usually lush grass play areas are now dirt dust with lots of critter holes and goat head weed creeping in. The ok part if this park is probably 20% or less of the total park. The kid area gets lots of use but requires maintenance. Falcon field park once a magnet for families is now an unattended city asset.
Terry W — Google review

This is a really nice park. My son did a birthday party there. They have several pavilions that you can reserve. The playground is large and has several different areas. The toilet rooms were ok. It is dog friendly. Lots of parking available

Eastmark Great Park is a family-friendly destination in Mesa, Arizona. The park boasts a picturesque pond stocked with trout, catfish, and sunfish, making it an ideal spot for fishing enthusiasts. Additionally, the park features playground areas and a shaded splashpad where children can enjoy outdoor fun. Visitors can also explore walking and biking trails while taking in the beautiful scenery of the park.
We are new in Arizona and currently living in Mesa. I am trying to find parks for my kids to enjoy some time now that the weather is cooling down. We found this park and we loved it, it's clean and has everything a kid and a parent would hope for: a pond, walking/biking trails, playground x 2, basketball hoops and so on. On top of that, it's right next to a little private vegetable farm that has a store and café so you can shop their products. I will be returning soon to this park.
Nancy D — Google review
Nice to walk around. Cafe inside the park is good one.
Ashish D — Google review
The adults I encountered were not very social, i did get an outsider kinda vibe. However, my kiddo enjoyed playing. There was lots to do. There are also two batting fields.
Misty D — Google review
The only reason this is not a 5 star park - there was no shade over the equipment!! It's in August and the sun is full blast. Black ropes, metal equipment and black swings were all on fire in the sun. Cute little pond with tons of ducks. They're building some more items here, but it was too hot to walk and look around. There's more but all we could get to was the pond and the climbing playground.
Sam H — Google review
There's turtles, ducks, and more turtles! Sit and watch the vegetables grow an exciting place for parents and their family!

Visited old friends and made a new title friend. Looked like a birthday party was being set up at the pavilions and people happily walking together with their dog. Oct in Az is kinda nice.

A fun park to take the kids to. Splash pad for some cooling off time, big open grass areas and the Orange Monster playground. Pack a lunch for a picnic or get some food at the Handlebar Cafe and eat by the Steadfast Garden.
Mike B — Google review
The Orange Monster...what a cool park. Maybe not so much for younger kids, although they do have slides for them. It's a different way to play at the park. With a little farm next to it. As well as a pool and splash pad at the other end of the park.

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, located in Scottsdale and operated by the city's Parks & Recreation Department, is a 40-acre park featuring a railroad museum and various exhibits. The park offers miniature train rides, jungle gyms, and a 10,000-sq.-ft. model railroad display. Visitors can enjoy attractions such as the Paradise & Pacific Railroad with steam locomotives and diesel engines, as well as the beautifully restored Scottsdale Charros Carousel.
This place was great. Mostly free except for the train ride and the carousel which are 3 dollars per person which I thought was reasonable. Very clean and well maintained. Great places for kids to play, water fountains all around or bottles of water in the market. The model train museum was amazing. The largest display I have ever seen and really well put together. So much to see. It’s also air conditioned inside so it’s nice to get in a get a break from the heat. We had a great time.
Aaron D — Google review
This is a great park. The new splash pad is small and isn't shaded directly, but there is plenty of shade around it with seating. The outdoor playground is huge and recently got sun sails so it mostly shaded. There are a few things that you need to pay for to do, but they are small amounts. The indoor playground, the train ride, and the carousel. The train ride is a ten minute ride around the park field and is so fun for the kids. There is a gift shop, and an ice cream/ snack bar also which are indoor and really nice. Plenty of seating throughout. Love this park.
Wendy M — Google review
Such a neat place! Large retired train cars throughout the park. They have a small train ride that's about an 8-10 min ride, a large carousel that you can ride either for $3 per person. Ages 2 and under are free. Huge outdoor playground with many unique obstacles. Lots of space to run and play. Small restaurant, museum, gift shop and a large miniature train set with interactive buttons. You can pay $12 for a wrist band for unlimited train and carousel rides for the day. Highly recommend and such a great value!
Larry D — Google review
Nice place to visit. They have several different buildings to explore. The one with the miniature train sets is free and quiet expansive. The grounds are well kept and they have several areas for kids to play along with a small locomotive to take a ride on. Overall a wonderful place to go with large trees, benches, and beautiful shade.
Ken — Google review
Great place to take the kids. The highlight for me was the model train building. It was a huge building with model train lay outs from N scale to O scale. Unbelievable, the detail in the layouts. The train ride is more for kids, and is a short ride around the facility. The serve ice cream and good lunch foods. I had their chili with corn bread. It was home made I thought. Lots of train history to explore. It's not very expensive to get in , and is worth the time to experience.

It's also home to the impressive Arizona State University Art Museum, showcasing over 10,000 artifacts and contemporary artworks. Whether you're a student or a visitor, ASU Tempe Campus offers a vibrant atmosphere with access to nearby amenities and attractions.
Everyone that I asked or didn’t ask about ASU all exclaimed that this campus was the most beautiful. They were absolutely right! After many college visits the key highlights of ASU is its it own city. You literally don’t have to leave. It’s modernized in every way. It doesn’t boast in historical components more than its future imprint. Lastly, it’s resourcefulness. We didn’t join an official tour but everyone we spoke to from students to staff readily assisted us. It was a one of kind university experience.

Walking many main campus’s across the US including many large state institutions I was pleasantly surprised by how nice the main campus was via foot on a Sunday afternoon. I can’t speak for the academics or campus life but it had a lot to offer and felt unique, inviting and progressive academically. Hard to rate it overall but as a campus walk I walked away with a good impression of ASU.

ASU completely upgraded their Game Day App....which meant completely starting over with the new app. My football tickets didn't show up, coupled with the fact we wanted to put all our accounts under one name. We seen our athletic representative Zack, who always gets things done for us. Used a different method which was just as easy to find and have access to football tickets, got all our accounts together now, paid for wrestling season tickets, so now we're good for this academic year. "It's all FORKS UP!"

Freestone District Park, located in Gilbert, Arizona, spans 88 acres and offers a wide range of recreational activities for visitors of all ages. The park features a stocked lake for fishing, lit sports fields including softball, basketball, tennis courts, and sand volleyball courts with water timers to keep the sand cool. Additionally, there's a dedicated skate park area for skateboarding and in-line roller skating. The park also houses the Freestone Recreation Center which hosts various programs and classes for the community.
So much to do at this park. Soccer field, basketball courts, a little lake to fish in, the water is reclaimed water to I catch and release. It has a skateboard park too! Lots of trees and places to have a birthday party there! They also have little rides for the kiddos and you can ride the little train for a small fee. We had fun feeding the ducks!

This is a gorgeous park with local fishing available; tons of birds and wildlife, the grounds are very clean and it’s just a nice atmosphere to be in :) my only complaint is that the attractions were not staffed well, we got tickets for the train but waited through 2-3 scheduled ride times because there wasn’t a staff member to conduct the ride. Kids still had a great time and enjoyed the train once the conductor showed up!

My kids absolutely love this park, with the splash pad being nice and cold to the tons of jungle gyms and a huge play ground. There was non stop fun all day. Tons of ducks & having the splash pad gated was super nice.

I had Granddaughter time recently and after a few spins around Chandler Mall, I decided on a change of scenery. Maps showed this park nearby and what a gem it was! It was nearly the Golden Hour of the day and many were gathered for photo opportunities. The park offered so many spectacular backdrops for photos. We strolled around the lake, watching the train pass by, saying hello to other families. We didn't stroll the entire park and only came across one playground which was much too large and chaotic for my 18 month old gd, but we will be back to explore more soon!
Kama K — Google review
The train was more expensive than freestone park and more of their equipment at the moment is out of order. The design of the splash pad and bridge by the playground is really cool though. The lake is clean and the ducks are fun to see. The trees are mature so their immense size is nice for shade. There's even a cooking Ramada with large grills. It was super nice to see many people there with some well maintained bathrooms.

Overall, it is an ideal place for hosting events of various sizes and provides ample parking space, single-story buildings, and options for catering breakfast, lunch, and happy hours. The doors were supposed to open at five instead they opened at six. It was a horrible experience from the beginning standing in line for 45 minutes. They have no liquor the liquor they did have they ran out not even halfway through the show. I had front row seats, which I paid a lot of money for and there was a 4 foot fence, blocking my view to the stage. not to mention, they put a walkway right in front of the first row not a good place to see a concert. I highly suggest not going there.

Cute little bike/trail park. Nothing too extraordinary but great for a short trip outdoors. Clean and well respected by other patrons, let’s help each other keep our parks in great shape, folks. There are trash cans and bathrooms. The trails have great sign placement, no issues knowing how to get from A-Z. One full loop around the perimeter is approximately 3/4 mile. Enjoy! We have been coming here for little over a year now. My son absolutely loves it (he is 3 years old). Definitely open for children and adults, a nice trail loops around the area and also goes up the hill where the jumps are located. Bathrooms are decent, water available and 2 shaded picnic areas to watch the bicyclists (or sometimes scooterists).

I didn't know what to expect when I chose to drive out to Mesa this morning. I remember the trails of years past but they are long gone. The city had increased funding and made this place sick! Imagine the Papago bike jumps if they were well groomed. There is a pump track, a skulls course with some little ladders and teeter totter. There is a beginners course with beautiful berms and lippy little tables. There is an intermediate course with bigger berms, some ladder drops and some fun jumps into and out of berms with some bigger doubles at the end. Then there is an expert course with massive berms, big ladder drops, transitions out of berms and some big doubles. 5 foot lips and 8 to 10 foot gaps. The place is as firm as concrete and extremely well groomed. It is a playground :)

I enjoyed a walk through Chaparral Park this morning. There weren’t too many people out when I first started, but people started coming halfway through. The walk is nice and clean and there were ducks around the pond areas. It is adjacent to a fairly busy road, but it didn’t disturb the walk too much.

5 star attraction in Scottsdale. Such an oasis in the city with fun for everyone. The little ones have the playground. The dogs have two facilities to choose from - active dog park or passive dog park. And the rest of us have a mixed shady path to walk / run, picnic, play baseball or soccer or basketball or even fish in the relaxing pond. Need I say more ......

Lovely park with a paved walking path around a pond, a dog park, a playground, fishing, and bathrooms. There are lots of species of birds that visit this park to include cormorants, blue heron, killdeer, and even a bald eagle stalking ducklings. There are lots of tables and benches for seating or picnics and trees for shade. There are also a few large fields for sports or training.

I counted 7 pieces of Calisthenics equipment around the loop of the lake. It’s pretty unique to have this equipment in a public Scottsdale park, views, and wildlife at the lake add so much too. Great place to chill or exercise!

Came here for the trail around the lake. It’s about a mile around the lake and 1.5 if you go around the fields. Roomy path to walk/run and people were courteous with their space and letting you know if they were passing. Came around 8am. Nice breeze and plenty of people fishing. Great little spot to hang out or get a good work out in.
BMF G — Google review
This park is enchanting. The lake is beautiful in the middle is an island filled with ducks, the kids can fish off the bank. Additionally the park has a basketball court, and a giant children’s playground. Plenty of seating and BBQ pits. A really family fun time.
Richard K — Google review
This place isn’t just a park, it’s like someone took the concept of “public space” and went full bodybuilder with it. It’s huge, loaded with trails, fields, courts, and random areas where you could probably start a flash mob or a medieval joust and no one would bat an eye. Perfect for biking, running, walking, or just letting your kids burn through their sugar rush while you “supervise” from a shady bench. I barely made it through a fraction of it before realizing I’d need a snack stash and possibly a search party to explore the rest. There’s enough space here to accidentally wander into a new zip code. Definitely going back, but next time I’m bringing a cooler, and maybe a GPS tracker so I don’t end up in another city.

Emerald Park is a 16.2-acre public space offering various recreational activities such as basketball, disc golf, volleyball, and picnic facilities. It's an underrated park with a peaceful ambiance that makes it perfect for a casual afternoon outdoors or a relaxing picnic lunch. The park features a playground for kids and a disc golf course that tends to be less crowded in the mornings but gets busier on weekends.
Fun course... but you will need the app to follow the hole pattern. You will walk about 2.7 miles on average if you complete all 18 holes. The GPS accuracy is pretty good at this course. A few shots go near water, so bring your disc claimer.

Nice park. Decent parking covered. Play areas. Brand new looking water fountain place for frisbee golf. No bathrooms, another parking lot, the other side, a lake. You can bring a dog but have a leash dog bags and trash cans. Very nice! one cover over two tables, there are more covered tables by the basketball courts,

Lived by this park for most of my life, 35 years, lots of nostalgia. It is a well used park, especially for the frisbee golfers. My kids enjoy the playground, though I can't stand that wood chips are used on playgrounds now. Big downside to the park is that at night it is a playground for addicts. Today I found a meth pipe on the playground along with burnt coils and tooters. It was right next to where my kids were too!
Craig J — Google review
I visited Emerald Park in Mesa this morning, and it was such a great experience. Right away I could tell this park is designed with the community in mind. The area is very dog-friendly, with plenty of open grassy fields where dogs can run, walk, and play. I saw several other pet owners out early, which gave the park a very welcoming and social atmosphere. It felt safe, relaxed, and clean, which makes it an easy spot to recommend for dog lovers like me. One of my favorite parts of the park is the lake. It adds so much beauty and calmness to the setting. Walking near the water early in the morning was refreshing, and it gave the whole park a peaceful vibe. The lake is also a nice backdrop for taking pictures or just enjoying a quiet moment while your dog gets some exercise. Emerald Park also has a frisbee golf course, which is a unique feature that you don’t find everywhere. It makes the park more versatile because it’s not just for walking or sitting—it’s also a place where you can play a fun, active sport. Even if you’re new to frisbee golf, it’s an inviting way to spend time with friends or family, and it brings more energy to the park. Between the open green space, the scenic lake, and the frisbee golf course, Emerald Park really has a little bit of everything. It works well for families, dog owners, or anyone just looking for a nice outdoor spot to relax. I really appreciated how clean and well-kept it was, and I’ll definitely be coming back often. If you’re in Mesa and want a place to enjoy the outdoors, Emerald Park is worth the visit

Really cool Frisbee park, it has a huge pond with lots of ducks and even baby ducks! The park was really cool too, alot of different types of playground stuff that no other park has! Very cool I'd recommend it for sure!!

This is a great park. It's got a great playground for the kids and has a disc golf course. There aren't many disc golfers out there during the mornings, but it'll get busier on the weekends. There's a pond in the middle of the park, but it isn't the nicest. If you lose your disc in there it might be as good as lost. However there was a guy with a huge rake that seemed to be fishing the discs out and I saw a sign that said "looking for a lost disc? Visit this website" I forgot what the website was but that's kind of nice. I skip aced hole 11.

I play here most mornings and it's great. My only issue is that front and back 9 over lap. I'm often waiting on people crossing or playing on other holes. A few hole share the same tee.

Fitch Park is a favorite spot for sports enthusiasts, offering well-maintained baseball diamonds where visitors can catch a game. The park features lit basketball courts, playgrounds suitable for all ages, and clean restrooms. Additionally, it offers reservable racquetball courts and shelters for gatherings or picnics. Despite some feedback about cleanliness issues on the playground equipment at times, many visitors appreciate the park's cleanliness and safety due to frequent police patrols in the area.
My boys and I had a amazing time this morning going around the block where this park is located so we could paint the fire hydrants as a service project. The park itself was extremely clean and quiet, the bathrooms were very clean and did not smell. They had a make shift mirror so if you wanted to check how you looked on your way out the door.👏 The stalls accually locked! There was adiquite parking and really nice street parking if need be.

One of my favorite parks to go to, shady areas, hand ball rooms, basketball courts, tables, swings, climbing toys and bars, pull up bars, bike racks, bathrooms clean. Close to bus routes , Library, and most importantly water drinking fountain

If this park could talk . Spent most of my childhood in this park. My dad was the the umpire for baseball (Booley) Bill Stephens and was responsible for turning the lights on and off. So, I have very very fond memories of this park.

Almost 8PM and courts are locked up. No signage anywhere for a reason why…. Again 9pm courts locked. Guess too good to change the sign or stick to the hours shown…. Screw the time people take to drive here oh yeah and the ridiculous price gas…hmm. I wonder when they will get the picture, they work for the people…

Great park. Reservable ramadas close to parking lot and playground. Has normal play stuff along with monkey bars and swings. Bathrooms as well.

On lunch with a co-worker and the park was pristine and well kept! It was a little concerning as I saw some odd looking people going in and out the RR for extended times, and some met with odd looks but all the same were it not for that I would easily have given it five stars if safety was not a concern. But beauty over safety doesn't warrant that but it does however warrant commending for the upkeep, and cleanliness.

Desert Sky Park in Gilbert is a great destination for fitness enthusiasts and families alike. The park features a kids' playground, multi-use fields, and an exciting fitness course with obstacles like climbing walls and rope nets. Additionally, the upcoming Cactus Surf Park will add even more recreational opportunities to the area through a public-private collaboration. Visitors can also look forward to amenities such as solar benches for charging devices and well-lit spaces for evening activities.
Serene park in Gilbert. I always come here for a quick read or walk, I love seeing the wildlife & meeting people here. Very friendly people ; met a couple of folks who like to come here and race ships and fly aircraft. Best park in Gilbert and my hidden gem ✨️🤍

A park for kids and adults! The obstacle course is neat but can also be a real challenge on some parts. I would recommend really watching any toddlers you bring because there are a lot of rope climbing areas that they could easily fall from.

Local park with fields and desert vibes. This play ground is not just for the kids! There is a fitness course as well with wood chip cushioning. Bathrooms available.

I was at the grand opening of this park. It's very fun. The soccer fields are huge. The play equipment has woods chips. Plenty of obstical course fun for the teens and spinning equipment for the younger kids. I loved the solar benches that let you charge your phones on too. There is a pond. I dont know if there will be fish. This place has a lot of parking. It's very well lit up at night. All in all a very amazing park. Well done Hunter Contracting on this amazing park you've built Gilbert.

This is a well designed park that the whole family can enjoy. The ninja style equipment can be utilized by parents and kids in multiple ways, providing hours of healthy fun for the whole family Picnic tables offer views of the park as well as the nearby lake which would be suitable for kayaks. Great kudos must be given to the City of Gilbert and the designers.

Fun new park, the kids had a good time trying to do the obstacle course, but it is definitely made for older kids/adults. None the less, they had fun. Bathrooms were clean, as was the park and there is a ton of parking.

Nice new park. Great fields. Bathrooms clean and have soap. Unsure if lake has fish. I will check next week. Parkour type playground. Careful if coming to playground from lake. There is a drop off from the sidewalk that the kids may not see if excited. Good amount of parking spots. UPDATE: There appears to be no fish in the lake. No signs of fish life with 90 minutes of fish with worms and two poles.

Signal Butte Park is a true gem, offering a beautiful and serene escape with a touch of whimsy. This is a quiet, quaint playground with what I'd like to call a steam punk theme. There's lots of metal but also rubber material to give spots of relief when the summer time comes around. When I visited in a group of 4, it was not busy. For this size playground, that is exactly what you want. It has the playground with slides, games, and some obstacles. It has a few swings. It's got a water feature that is more like a mister, so perfect for cooling off without getting soaked. It even has a decent size grass area to freely play in. Someone did some burnouts in this area, but it was still good enough to walk in (not too much mud). I would definitely come back again.

Well maintained trail for walking or biking. Beautiful modern playground equipment. Well maintained rest room. Water 💦 fountains for people and for our doggie friends. Splash pad for use in warmer weather. Ez parking off Elliot road.

We love this park! Have been going here since my son was born and he’s 8 now. Always asks to come here he loves it and we love the mist from the small water splash spot as well. Small and cute.
Jessy H — Google review
This was a cute little park we took my dog and granddaughter to. It would be more fun during the summer if the equipment was not made of metal and other materials that heat up in the Arizona sun, but we did have fun regardless. The small splash pad area was also fun, but could also be improved, but again we all had fun!
Chandra E — Google review
You would think that being in AZ, ALL parks should automatically have shaded playgrounds, specially for the extra hot summer days. But, aside from the lack of shade on the semi-hot playground, it is definitely a nice park with a large playground. Kids can easily spend a couple of hours or more monkeying around. Difficulty level is more for 5 or 6 year olds & up but my 4 & 2 year olds didn’t complain. They got comfortable pretty quickly and made their way around in no time, lots of climbing so assisting the younger children is a must but great place to work on their motor skills & balance. Nice shade on the benches/ramadas, perfect for a picnic or lunch. The restrooms are clean and well ventilated. There’s also a small splash area.
R. C — Google review
My kids loved this park and didn’t want to leave! It’s definitely a unique play structure! As a parent, I’m a little concerned about the metal slide - in just a couple months and ALL summer (until like October, ha), that’s going to be HOT.
Jana T — Google review
We drove 45 min from our house to play at this park I saw on an Instagram reel. It did not disappoint. My kids 8 and 4 absolutely loved it! We played here for over 3 hrs. Finally a designer creates a park filled with lots of fun equipment. There are clean bathrooms, covered picnic tables, a small misting splash pad, swings, grassy area and bike path. We will definitely drive the distance to enjoy again.

It's was great considering it was 78 degrees and windy for May in Arizona! That's definitely a win. Just don't think you're the only ones with the lake day idea when the weather is too good to be true. It was indeed packed, but still, some spots are available as people would come and go. Spots are great, the water shoreline is perfect for lounging, and if you have young kids.
McKenna N — Google review
This place honestly surprised me. Came out here early to beat the heat and the crowd, and it delivered on both fronts. The trail itself is awesome. At one point early on, you walk through this stretch of greenery that straight-up feels like you got teleported to another state. Maybe Oregon, maybe Narnia, who knows, but it was a cool shift from the usual Arizona desert vibe. Once you’re past that, you get a mix of lake views, desert mountains, and plenty of spots to stop and snap some solid pics. It's peaceful, easy, and just scenic enough to feel like you're out doing something. Then there’s the beach area. Big enough for families, paddle boarders, and people just floating around pretending they’re on vacation. Water feels great, plenty of spots to chill, and overall it’s got a solid lake day energy. The downside? People. Or more specifically, people who treat public spaces like trash bins. Bottles, wrappers, random garbage floating in the water like it belongs there. And don't even get me started on the restrooms. I don’t know who trained half the visitors to aim like stormtroopers but it’s bad. Real bad. Still, if you go early and come prepared, it’s an easy 4-star spot. Hike it, swim it, float it, just maybe hold your breath near the bathrooms and bring a trash bag to clean up after the folks who think nature comes with maid service.

I love this little beach. You have a great view of the lake, and you can swim. I love watching all of the people with paddle boards go into the water. You can also bring your dogs !

For a Friday evening on a holiday weekend, the beach was not very busy. It was very peaceful. Plenty of parking and picnic tables were available, and all of the picnic tables had trash bags available. Restrooms were well stocked in clean. Wonderful for an evening paddle board adventure.

We got here at 8:40am on Memorial day 2025 and the parking lot was full but we are able to find a good spot not too far from the lot on the side of the road. The videos are from when we from first got there early in the morning at around 9 am. There were a lot of people but not as much as there was when we left around 2:30 pm we got a really good spot with plenty of leg room. The water was shockingly cold when we first got in. There were folks on Paddleboards, Kayaks, row boats, floaties, ect. It was a great time. Note: we personally picked a spot to settle where some kids were listening to music but there were plenty of spots and spaces where no music could be heard. This is a must see for anyone who wants beach vibes in the desert.
Stephanie D — Google review
Beautiful place, gets busy and a little difficult to find parking sometimes. You do need Tonto pass or America the beautiful pass to park here. Restrooms are plenty but not very clean and no water in them. You can paddle board, kayak, swim or just relax in the water or by the gravel beach. Perfect spot for a lake day. Water is not too deep upto 50m from the shore.

Great park! HUGE! Covered picnic areas(at least ten)trailes, both dirt and concrete. Baseball diamonds(yes, more than one) plenty of parking, free of course. Bathrooms & water. This is the biggest park I've been to and seen in the East Valley. Go, you'll love it!
Richard K — Google review
We love this little oasis in the desert. It's around a half-mile walk along the canal from Broadway road so we found it ideally suited to our morning walks. And for what it is, it packs a punch above its weight. Primarily it's a patch of green with a pool, a play/exercise area with restrooms and parking spaces. Of course it's a dual function facility. It also serves as a flood cistern. So if it's really wet out, the pond creeps out of its spot and pushes the humans back. It's just the balance of nature. The restrooms I would say are functional - they're ok. They might not be as sparkly as you would expect a hotel bathroom to be, but then it's not a hotel environment. They seem to be regularly cleaned and disinfected and I didn't ever see any wildlife in there. Let's just say that I'd probably pick my child up and aim him at the urinal. It's ok. But it excels as a park. People fishing in the lake and lots of wildlife. As non experts we saw what we labelled as big fish, a pair of Bald Eagles, Cormorants, a Heron, and ducks galore. And, as far as I could tell there was wheelchair access all over. It makes an interesting visit for both adults and children.
Chris S — Google review
This was my first time at this park. I have two doggies so I parked off street access. I tripped on curb getting my dogs out. I took pictures and would be happy to add any details but in my opinion this section of sidewalk should be redone before another accident. Imagine a child or person running across grass towards this raised curb to go home and the person trips headlong into the street. Thank you for caring.

I went to take my littlest fishing and it was not that great to fish! We didn't catch fish. The pond was gross with mold, bugs, and dead fish floating in it. Was not that safe for a rambunctious 6-year-old to be by that water! I bet the other parts of the park are nice... just don't go fishing there.

Great outdoor facilities. I’ve been coming and playing in the drop in pickleball courts. Everyone is very accommodating and patient with sharing the courts. Park of Canals in Mesa, Arizona, pays tribute to the engineering prowess of Native Americans and Mormons through its prehistoric canals and recreational amenities. The park offers a glimpse into the historical significance of the canals, dating back to 300 BC when they were constructed by local farmers to draw water from the arid desert. Visitors can enjoy picnics amidst lush greenery and explore a desert botanical garden showcasing diverse plant species.
Interesting historic park. Easy hike. Excellent early morning or sunset walk The canals were developed for early water diversion from the Salt. Natives knew what they were doing. Pay attention to the plaque in the courtyard Great place for kids

Park was quiet, very neat and clean. Playground was simple and seemed to have some trails for walking around. The trails near the kids ayground worried me as small kids could easily walk off and be out of site and unable to find. The botanical garden is quaint and quiet, nice space for sitting and relaxing. Hoping that during cooler weather more items will be in bloom. Only odd thing which concerned us is we saw half a dozen cars but no people around. And we walked almost the whole place. So wondering where everyone was it what they were doing.

This is one of my favorite parks. When my teenagers were younger, we came all the time. My one daughter even had her cheering practices here. There is a lot of room to walk around and plenty of fun stuff for kids to play on. I love that there is a toddler section and a bigger kid section. My no-toddler had a blast!

My son loves this park. They have two separate areas, ones aimed towards bigger kids and the other for smaller ones. It has a huge field as well if you have any animals or play sports. Basketball and volleyball area. The fire department is next to it, and when the fire truck has been outside, they have been very welcoming to let my son check it out! The only reason I might not give this 5 stars is because I wish it was more shaded! Summers here are brutal and it makes it hard to touch anything at times. Love it during nicer times though!!

Nicely maintained neighborhood family park with a large playground and two gazebos; one larger, and one smaller. Great place to have family events. Some downsides of the park are limited parking and the gazebos cannot be reserved ... so first come wins. Sadly, I have seen self-absorbed jack wangs putting coolers on the tables in the morning to "save" them for an afternoon event. Come on people, you're better than that.

The park is super small and there's not really much to do. There is a ramada and a short sidewalk. There isn't anyplace to walk, unless you go off to the residential area sidewalks. For parking, the park has a small lot that fits about 20 or so cars or you can park off-street. The park features a small no-frills and not-shaded playground with some basic slides and climbing structure and swings. I did see a water fountain and bike racks too. There are also some cute dinosaur paintings by the parking lot. The park is just way too small and lacks any fun elements

I go to the park in the late afternoon to walk my dog. Dog waste bags and trash cans are available. The park is well maintained. There is plenty of playground equipment for children, two covered picnic areas (with tables and grills), a drinking fountain, and quite a bit of grass shaded by trees. Very nice for a neighborhood park.
Brian S — Google review
This is a really cool park. It has a nice smooth elevation to it so that allows for some great running if you’re training for a cross-country run or if you’re going to be competing in a trail run. On the east side of the park is a really nice playground. This would be a great park to have a frisbee golf match or even if someone just wanted to have a family picnic. There aren’t any bathrooms here but there are some homes for sale in the area.

Nice little toddler friendly park. All equipment is low to the ground allowing safe climbing for the small ones. Clean no restroom. Street parking.

Our family loves this quiet little neighborhood park. There are 2 shelters with picnic tables which is nice during the hotter weather. The park itself has lots of trees around which provides a cooler area in general. There are 2 decent size playgrounds plus some smaller things for young toddlers. The park never seems to be crowded or busy which is a nice change from many of the larger city parks. There is another small park very close to this one (Granite Park), but we always choose Ensenada Park when sticking close to home. I recommend this park if you're looking for a quieter, more relaxing day with your kid(s) at the park. One downside is the lack of restrooms however.

Princess Park is a delightful oasis that brings back fond childhood memories for many. This charming park offers an array of activities suitable for kids of all ages, featuring three distinct playsets designed with safety in mind, complete with woodchip surfaces instead of sand. The park boasts a spacious greenbelt perfect for games like tag or tossing around a football, alongside facilities such as a basketball court and volleyball net.
This is the cutest castle themed park! The equipment was in great condition and there was plenty to do for the whole family. There were also 2 swings, and a very large grass field. My kids enjoyed this park immensely and I would highly recommend a visit!
Madison B — Google review
Love this park! It's clean, three different playsets for older or younger kids. It has woodchips rather than sand. Only one set of swings but that's okay for us. Basketball court. Very large greenbelt for tag? Tossing a football or softball/baseball? Viewable horses right beside it. No ramada's but tables and bbq's for a picnic. No bathrooms.
Lisa K — Google review
Cute little park, great for small intimate gatherings. No restrooms so plan accordingly! Volleyball and basketball as well as field areas.
Jasmine S — Google review
Oh how we love this park. Fun castle design, unique climbing to get to the slide (good for big kids), and also 2 smaller toddler friendly structures. Only 2 swings, 1 drinking fountain and NO BATHROOMS. Giant grassy field, volleyball court, Ramadan, picnic tables, benches, and a rock wall for seating. Great amenities! I had to knock a star for the bathrooms because who wants to take small kids to a place they can't pee? 😅
Jennifer M — Google review
The theme of this park was fun! My kids loved pretending they were in a castle. There were many options of things to do such as swings, slides, small climbing wall, teeter totter, spinning toys, monkey bars, etc. It seemed to be of the beaten path. It wasn't busy. It was clean. I did not see any bathrooms.

Beautiful park. No bathrooms. Just wish there was shade for the summer! But tons of fun for the kids when the weather allows. Has an open field and basketball hoops. Sand in the playground, swings and lots of slides!
Ashley M — Google review
The play area is awesome with something for literally every age range from walking to teens. The only hang-up is the sand. I mean, it's so unsanitary. I ONLY go to Silvergate bc my kids love it. It's time to upgrade to wood chips, Silvergate. Other than that, there is a huge sunken in field on one side, an open walk, a grassy area, plenty of trash receptacles, and seating. Parking might be an issue if a lot of people attended at the same time AND day shifters were returning home from work, but I haven't had any issues with parking yet. Overall, it's a nice park, worth the visit and deserving of 4 stars.

Got stuck in a tree, nobody would help me down, no bathrooms either so I had to resort to the monkey bars, got tetanus from the large orange slide, tore my ACL from the swing, arm came off because of the monkey bars and needed surgery to amputate it, the benches there are falling apart, syringes all over, found fentanyl in the trash can once, would recommend, not bad.

Easy to get to, plenty of parking. Fields are well maintained. Bathrooms right in the center and clean!

Fields were pretty worn out with little to no up keep by the complex. Set up is nice in regards to being open and a lot of space to be comfortable as you watch games.
Steven P — Google review
These fields are nice but could be kept up a little better the infield dirts like concrete so sliding isn't fun and the skin on my knees hasn't healed now in 2 weeks but outside of that them not opening the gates early enough for us to get in and the lights being so low throws to me at first from 3rd become dangerous I've played for a long time so i can overcome these faults but younger or less experienced players will have some trouble. Overall They have a great facility open bathrooms and I like playing there. If they could fix these small problems the filed would be perfect

Really nice, level fields with real dirt mounds (a treat for our 14U team, coming from the LA area)! No shade for spectators so bring your own, esp in warmer months. Restrooms were pretty well maintained and the water fountains had the coldest, best tasting, water ever, according to my husband! 😂

Dobson Ranch is a great place to live. There are a number of lakes, with walking/cycling paths as well as parks equipped with playgrounds for various age levels. At Laguna Park they offer outdoor movie nights. A holiday boat parade boasting family owned boats decorated with thousands of lights is an annual event in December. And this is but one of several locations with excellent amenities. There are several pools, a number of tennis and pickleball courts as well as meeting facilities at the other locations. And the HOA rates are just around $57/month in 2025! A great place to raise a family (or to host grandchildren)!
Andriy C — Google review
First off, I am OBSESSED with living in Dobson Ranch. I have personally lived, bought and sold real estate in the Dobson Ranch community, dealt with the ever changing HOA, enjoyed many activities at Laguna Park-from the yearly easter celebrations to power walking the lake in the evening, and my family and best friends still reside in Dobson Ranch to this day. (I live very close by). My husband and I plan on moving back to Dobson Ranch, specifically on the lake by Laguna Park, as soon as the home we want pops up for sale. This park is lovely with a playground, lake, workout equipment and plenty of trees to relax under. I give Laguna Park at Dobson Ranch a 5 out of 5!
Andrea R — Google review
Laguna Park is a well maintained, 3 mile, rambling park with the typical playground items, only spread out a bit so there's a feeling of space and even privacy. I saw some picnickers on blankets. Lovely homes occupy the shoreline. There's a small pier where there were a couple fishing successfully in the water. There's a "catch and release" only policy. I found the people friendly. Watercraft were docked around the edges of the lake. Runners were using the ongoing path around the lake for exercise. There's also exercise equipment there also spaced out for a sense of privacy. The area felt peaceful and relaxing towards the sundown hours. I admired how well cared for the grass and big trees looked. There were some dogs being walked and bags are provided for cleanups. All in all a great place to visit and explore.

Super cute park in a nice neighborhood. I have never seen a piece of equipment require so much coordination and teamwork, but it was adorable to watch the children problem solve! The neighborhood was hosting a 50th anniversary of "Sunday in the Park." Tge Maasman Band performed and sounded terrific. My favorites were "Hotel California" and "American Woman."

Great little park in Dobson Ranch. Plenty of ducks to feed plus nice little covered park to take little kids. My grandsons love climbing on the park toys and covering their toy cars in the wood chips. This park is never really crowded and great to bike to.
Dale H — Google review
This by far is one of my most favorite parks to take a nice long walk at. They have ducks just swimming along enjoying the cool evening breeze on the water. Most of the neighbors in the area have dogs and the ducks seem to make friends with the pooches. It's a really cute site to see especially if you're taking a strole with a significant other. It's a grate time to have an intimate moment to tell your better half you love them. There is also plenty of room to bring your furry friend/friends to enjoy a perfect game of fetch. Theyll most definitely have a blast! The grass is very well maintained and also is clean. No worries about stepping in a random poo poo platter surprise. Just wish there were bathrooms. I will end by saying either the early morning or around sunset would be the best time to enjoy your time at this jewel in the desert.

Stapley Park is an old traditional family park. A decent sand pit with nice play equipment scattered about. 2 covered picnic areas with a small field and basketball courts. And lots of pigeons to chase. There is a water fountain but there is no restroom.

Bums stay here during the day. I've seen them hanging out with their friends on the grass and more sitting on the benches. Last time I was there, 7 bums with all their belongings around them. Last time I saw a large group of teens here, around 10 teenagers together sitting at a large table. They were not roudy, just hanging out and talking. The playground is awesome, I babysit and I bring my 5 year old here to play. There are multiple jungle gyms and two sets of swings. Lots of different sized slides and monkey bars. Haven't had a bad experience here! The adults and teens give each other their space, everyone is respectful, the kids in the playground have their separate place away from them. The water fountain here is AWESOME! It has great water pressure, the water spout aims the water up high so its easy to drink from and it (hopefully) is cleaner because people don't have to put their mouths close to the water spout. With that said, during the day with all those people around there's more people drinking from the fountain. At night there's hardly anyone there, there's sometimes a smaller group of teens playing basketball at the basketball courts but that's all. At night I've had the entire playground to myself and my kid. Everyone in the park is friendly. I haven't seen anything sketchy here while I've been a visitor. I give this place 4/5 because I am extra vigilant during the day time with all those other visitors being adults.
Karina S — Google review
There is no off street parking, but there is plenty of room to park on the streets around the park itself. The park is surrounded by a short fence, and you can walk the sidewalk that encircles this fence if you were looking for exercise. Inside the actual park, there is not much paths to work on. It was pretty much just a straight-shot path to the playground and the basketball court. There are also two picnic ramada areas and some picnic tables under the trees- yay for shade. The playground is actually not bad- lots of fun equipment although there were some shady characters hanging out in that area.

I appreciate the two sides of the park: bigger kids and smaller kids slides. It has a water fountain and walking path around the entire sand area. One Ramada and large open field. Only downside is lack of shade near benches. No bathrooms as this is a neighborhood park which is a bummer since we live in a neighborhood across the main street.

Had 2 really nice playgrounds in a nice sandy area. There was a sandy volleyball quart, the sand was very hard. There was lots of nice picnic tables and a tiny little basketball area. There was lots of grass but it wasn't very good quality. The park is in a very nice and safe neighborhood.

Park is small to medium sized. Clean. Good shade trees in some areas. Decent playground. Tiny basket ball area. NO LIGHTS OR SEATING. Surface not good. Small sand volley ball area. Sand should be leveled. Minimal park lighting. Street parking, east and northsides. No handicapped spaces and one cement ramp for wheel chair access. Two decent sets of Horseshoe Pits. Not a lot of picnic tables but all shaded. Tables need to be resurfaced. Lots of fairly flat most green grass. Park well maintained and clean. Two on play ground and person with dog. 07/01/22 1 hour, late afternnon.

I stopped by the park while in Mesa for a quick look around to see it has remained fairly similar to when I lived in the neighborhood and attended Mc Arthur Elementary. Great park with plenty of real-estate for many, I wanted to check in on an Eagle Scout project that was completed in the late 80s.. Great neighborhood too.
JASON J — Google review
I love this park. It's tucked away in a very safe neighborhood and there's usually lots of families and kids here playing. Also there are usually at least a couple dogs here, as the park has a large field for them to run or play fetch. My only reason for 4/5 stars is that this park has no shade over the play structures like other parks do.
Colton W — Google review
Good place to go for outdoor sports like football. In the middle of a nice neighborhood, so not too much to worry about in regards to trouble makers. No public restrooms so not a good recommendation to stay long. Only one covered rhamada with a public briquette grill. Swings, slides, and other things, but a pretty average park overall with a single water fountain.
Kyle S — Google review
There is no off-street parking but you can park alongside the street curb. If you walk from the grassy slope down from the curb, it will bring you right to the playground. There are two picnic ramadas in the park, and the grass is not mowed- spotted some weeds. The park sidewalk was closed in several sections with fences. It looks it may be fixed, so that meant walking in the grass and dealing with mosquitos. Also, with that existing sidewalk layout, it does not currently connect to the basketball or volleyball court, so you will have traverse the grass to get across. Note: This is a relatively popular neighborhood park. I've seen it start to get busy even in the mornings.

Homeless sleep here on a regular basis, gang activity, drug deals and prostitution all happen her quite regularly. Mesa park maintenance staff are aware of the problem and yet they do little to resolve it. Mesa PD are responsive and quick, but it's not enough when the neighboring community lets it keep going or is also involved in it

It’s not the best of parks, but the kids have fun. There’s only one street you can get to the park off of unless you live in certain apartments small area park and the playground equipment is a little dingy. It could definitely use an update.

I feel it is one or two stars unless it is considered the residents. Good to have a place to meet and stay but is all over park good? Under the trees, in the playground equipment, in Ramada, at entryway and parked on street. I would not put a child on the playground if they would either not have access or space. The grass is burnt up. No idea how long trash there.

Jennifer T — Google review
Its a cute park my kids have fun but the picnic table they have there have homeless people sitting at them all the time. The times that they are not there there are drug residue on the table. And the grass I have found a pipe made out of tools and a pencil grip. Also this park does not have lights at night so you can't see a thing. I took my children here at night and ended up falling and tripping over a rod while I was pregnant.
Tarenah E — Google review
There is no off-street parking for this park, and while you can park by the curb, but this particular residential street was full of cars along the curb. This park has a fence around it, but by the sidewalk, there is an open area where you can walk in from. From there, you pass under a cute wooden mini-roof structure, and then the sidewalk just leads from there directly to the playground. Beyond that was the soccer field which was rather muddy. Next to the play area, there is an unshaded cute wooden carved table and also a ramada area. Some person was asleep there so it seemed a bit shady. Not much in terms of size or pizazz. It looked pretty dreary from the outside but... The playground though was the highlight- lot of equipment to play on.

This park is decent. It has off-street parking that accommodates 15-20 cars In front of the parking lot is the playground and 2 ramadas. To the right of the playground is volleyball court and then the basketball court.. There is a sidewalk that connects all those elements which is nice, and i also saw a water fountain. There's unfortunately no restrooms. To the left of the playground, there is a little sidewalk that I think makes a loop around the park. To the left of that sidewalk is a grassy area that you can run on. The grass is nicely mowed and cleaned. Overall, neat layout. One thing I didn't like is how the park was close to the power lines.

Great little neighborhood park. Always clean & peaceful. Has a nice size Ramada with a big grill & you don't have to pay to use it or go through the hassel of reserving it either as this park is a hidden gem in our community. Only problem is that there is absolutely NO facilities & the water fountain is terrible & unkept. They really need to provide a better water station. A Spray Pad of sorts would also be a well needed & GREATLY appreciated update for the kids in this neighborhood!😀

Also bring your own chair to sit on and shade because the trees only line the upper portion of the park. Below is wide open

Holmes Park is a water basin located in the east part of Mesa. It is well maintained by the city of Mesa and typically kept very green throughout the seasons here in the valley. It is pet friendly with pet waste stations for your small and large furry family members. It’s size is adequate to accommodate a jog or a simple walk around the park, and even a glimpse of some moving water next to a canal waterway located on the west part of this park. It has single space parking as well. Plenty of lighting if you want to spend time tossing a football, or baseball, or a frisbee with your children or pets in the evening.

Nice little park along the Eastern canal trail to stop and take a breather. No formal benches to sit down though so be prepared to lay on the grass if needed
Jon G — Google review
This is not a dog park. There is no fence. While it is a nice open park to play with your dogs, it is right by a busy street, freeway and canal so if your dog has bad recall don't risk being off leash. No playground for kids. Very small parking lot.
Maddie D — Google review
The park is close to the highway so it was noisy. It was basically just a grassy ditch that sits at lower elevation than the streets, so I imagine it can get quite puddly after a rain. There are no amenities like restrooms or water fountains. There are no playgrounds either or even a sidewalk to walk on. I never thought a park could get any more ho-hum but this park proves so. Only exciting thing was the bunch of birds sitting on the grass. Other than, very quiet. I've driven by a few times too and each time I drive by too, there is no one there.

Great park! Only issues are the parking lot is FAR from the playground: be prepared to walk. And the sand/swings don’t have any shade, so it’s always scalding hot. Splash pad is awesome and clean! Love that it’s gated. Play structure has everything you could need.
Jennifer M — Google review
Awesome splash pad! Love that it’s fenced it and that it has some shaded benches. Push this button with your barefoot or your hand to turn on the water!
Hannah R — Google review
The playground equipment is new and maintained, suitable for 10 and younger. The splash pad can entertain a bit older. The fields are almost always open for casual play, but reservations for full soccer or softball games are recommended. Lights are only on basketball court. The Bermuda grass is seasonally in poor condition and this doesn't always get rye over seeding.

Great place to learn about RC aircraft. Guys at park very friendly and helpful
PAUL D — Google review
An absolute great park to fly. Due to the FAA denying access to RC usageThe basin is a safe haven for RC enthusiasts to meet other people and have a safe spot to fly.
Paul P — Google review
Fantastic place to bust out some flights or take an evening stroll. Perimeter path is smooth enough for long boards too, just watch out for pebbles. No restrooms unfortunately.
Specializedbndt — Google review
I go there to fly my drones. Wide open space without many obstacles to hit. Excellent for flying various radio controlled vehicles. Usually there are people there flying their RC planes. It's a great place to test your drones/planes safely.
Adam K — Google review
Very nice large park. Do the figure 8 around both basins and it is exactly 1 mile! Lots of RC planes and a large community of hobbyists come here. Perfect place to bring your dog or come practice a sport. Favorite park to come that’s nearby my house.

Beautiful grassy park where I was able to take my dog to run around in the high heat on leash. Other dogs greeted her that were kindly trained. Nicely kept and very near home.
Nanci C — Google review
We call it green grass park because the grass is super green we like to play frisbee here.

Love this place, it either takes quarters or you download the app and pay through your phone really cool, customer service is great here
Edwin H — Google review
Small little park w a covered playground! They have a grassy knoll that a lot of pet owners bring their pets unleash them and play ball etc. If u miss having a dog, get ur fill here! So many friendly breeds. There are a bball and volley courts. Bathrooms and water fountain. Shaded verandas too. Easy parking right in front.
Aliria L — Google review
A great park for kids and families. The park has a small basketball court. It is popular for soccer practice with the younger teams. Lots of people walk their dogs in the green space. It has a bathroom but you need to be a member to use it and have a key.
Elizabeth S — Google review
I'm from Washington state and am visiting Arizona. I went to this dog park for my pups to stretch their legs and I went to use the bathroom before leaving and it was locked? I guess you have to be a member. Would have been nice to know before I went there, had to drive down the road to use the Albertsons bathroom.
Vespera H — Google review
Nice neighborhood park. Not the best play equipment but the park is clean, has basketball courts, restrooms and tons of grassy area.
Tiffany P — Google review
A good full basketball court and volleyball net with sand. Well-kept grass with an open field big enough for just about any sport. The only downside I can think of is the lack of light on the field side of the park.

Park
It's a nice, friendly, well kept area with a playground, and plenty of park space. Be careful of the power lines overhead though.
Liam K — Google review
Small Park with no fences. It has a nice small swing set next to a full sized basketball court. There are also a few picnic tables and one charcoal BBQ. The park is open with some nice shade trees. This is a neighborhood park with locals coming by often. It opens out to the power line park right next to the park.
John R — Google review
My review of: Pequeno Park was mislabeled on my map. It is actually in side the hoa community at the corner of Oakland and Covina. Has barbecue grills and picnic benches. Saw 2 trees with broken branches. People damage since there was no stories lately. Play equipment relatively new. With wood chips under play area. No water. No restrooms. Pokemon Ho route found here
Eileen S — Google review
This is a great little park to bring 3to4 kids let them play while u have a pickinick or get some mom time in. Plenty of shade, just right amount of park equipment! Sorry no park pics I was under the power lines. Plenty of Frisbee & soccer room too
Pat D — Google review
As the name Pequeno suggests, the park does seem pretty small at first glance. They have a super small parking lot that fits about 10 cars. To the left of the parking lot there is a big grassy "basin" area with workout equipment- a squat post, small cylinders that you can do step-up on, parallel dip bars, a sit up bench, etc. I also saw some shaded picnic benches. They also have the playground and right next to it was the basketball court. Those two amentiies were too close to each other. Also, the playground's equipment was super no frills. I will say though the workout equipment area and the big grassy running field makes up for it.
A Z — Google review
My kids absolutely love playing in this park. Thought he fixtures aren't covered. During the summertime. It's definitely a great place to have a picnic and relax with the family. I absolutely enjoy coming here with my girls.
Dayla D — Google review
Actually, Pequeno Park is a nice little park, but the location is wrong on the map, and it has been for years. The Park is just north at E Contessa and N Oakland, where the map says, "Pequeno Basketball Court." No restrooms or water, but has had nice play equipment for kids, and exercise stations. And, of course, basketball court. The city keeps it up well. We moved to our house specifically because it is near this park. The city is currently putting in new equipment.
Michael D — Google review
I take my dog there everyday,it is always clean, the grass is always well kept. A big thanks goes out to the city of Mesa grounds keepers!
