Josiah Cephas Weaver Park is a charming and distinctive park situated on both sides of Bayshore in Dunedin. The land side boasts amenities such as playgrounds, covered areas, fitness equipment, restrooms, and lush oak trees that create a picturesque atmosphere. On the gulf side of the park, visitors can enjoy a lengthy pier perfect for fishing or scenic viewing. Portable restroom facilities are available on both sides of the park along with ample parking and a crosswalk connecting them together.
Great park. I spent most of my time on the gulf side of the park. Some really cool plants growing around there. I nice stop along the trail.

Great park to catch the sunset in Dunedin! Plenty of parking and you can walk out in the pier and enjoy some of the best sunset views in Florida! Across the street is Eddy’s bar if you’re looking for a drink and a burger or wings afterwards. (Do me a favor and enjoy your evening but don’t tell everybody up north about Dunedin this town can be our secret) Head over to downtown Dunedin after dinner and be sure to tip your servers!

Our 3-year-old loved this park!! The tree fort theme was super cute. After we played at the park, we walked across the street to look at the water, then we walked on the Pinellas Trail to HOB (kid-friendly brewery). This park does not have any restrooms or water fountains to my knowledge.

Weaver Park, located in Dunedin Florida. Great place to go and enjoy the water especially at Sunset. The town of DUNEDIN will have events here throughout the year. There is a large open lawn space that allows for a small gathering from time to time you will find music, festivals, Music in the park, it’s a great place to spend time and it is located between downtown Dunedin and the Dunedin Causeway. Come spend the day for just a couple hours. There are benches to enjoy the view. There is a small parking space that fills up around sunset. We were park is across from a walking trail and a playground so bring the family and enjoy.
Catherine S — Google review
Had a nice picnic. Kiddos had fun at the playground. Before we left we walked across the street and got to see 6 manatees swimming by the pier. Hope the pier is fixed soon, we could have seen them better. Park is off the trail so you can bike there.
Staci L — Google review
5.12.24: The park itself is VERY dog friendly. There is not an actual fenced-in park for dogs. The Pinellas Trail is directly adjacent to the park with paved and grass walkways. Across the street is the water area. There is no dog area that I'm area of. But there are great sunsets and a Puerto to walk on over the water It has a great kid playground, 2 pavilions with benches and 1 grill each, a nice free workout area with instructions, and a public bathroom building that is clean every time I'm there. There was plenty of shade all around and extra parking just north of the park on Bayshore.
Tiffany T — Google review
Folks Weaver Park is an amazing location to bring your families and enjoy some time with the family, friends, alone time, and enjoy nature, or even workout. This park has an amazing workout spot, no free weights, just use your own body weight. Great location for biking and it’s only minutes away from Downtown Dunedin and the Causeway that leads to Honeymoon Island. Extremely clean and locals are extremely friendly. One of my favorite spots to catch a beautiful sunset. Grab a seat, bring you love ones or pets, blanket and a coffee even a book and lay back and enjoy!

Nestled in the heart of nature, Hammock Park is a serene 90-acre preserve that invites visitors to immerse themselves in its lush landscapes. This tranquil haven boasts century-old trees and a vibrant butterfly garden featuring an impressive array of 225 plant species. With five miles of winding trails, three picnic shelters, and an observation platform, it’s the perfect spot for outdoor enthusiasts and families alike.
Hammock Park in Dunedin is a hidden gem for nature lovers seeking peace and solitude. This expansive park features long, winding trails that take you deep into a lush forest, offering a true escape from the hustle of everyday life. As you walk beneath the towering trees, you’ll be surrounded by the sounds of nature, from the rustling leaves to the calls of rare birds that make this park a birdwatcher’s paradise. The park’s well-maintained trails vary in difficulty, making it a great spot for both casual walkers and more adventurous hikers. Along the way, you might spot woodpeckers, owls, or even a painted bunting if you’re lucky. The diverse ecosystem, filled with ancient oaks, cypress trees, and wetlands, creates a peaceful atmosphere perfect for reflection, meditation, or simply enjoying the beauty of the natural world. Whether you’re looking for a long, immersive hike or a quiet place to relax, Hammock Park offers an incredible experience for those who appreciate untouched nature and wildlife. It’s truly one of Dunedin’s best-kept secrets.
Marijana T — Google review
This is my special place! I love exploring the trails, observing the animals and wildlife, and living among the peaceful sights and sounds of nature. Hammock Park is committed to maintaining the beauty of its grounds, encouraging visitors to clean up after themselves and help pick up any litter to protect the environment. This hidden gem is perfect for peaceful morning or evening walks. I recommend visiting Lake Suemar and the Fern Trail. 🌴🌳
Juliet C — Google review
A nice, dog-friendly park with many short, maintained trails. Download a map (plenty of QRs in the park) since the many short trails and intersections can get confusing and you might miss most of the park. The boardwalks are closed to bicycles. The map indicates habitats and trails are named after distinctive plants along the trails. The Palm trail has some of the tallest Sabal palm trees in the area. Alongside the brackish waters grow mostly Black mangroves, with some White and Button mangroves in between.
Gottfried K — Google review
A nice little park in Dunedin Florida- a little oasis from the overdevelopment of Pinellas County. Several tails for walking or biking. Lots of dogs. Good place to spot owls and gopher tortoises. Can do 2-3 miles if you want on all the trails. Butterfly garden of native plants.
Adam L — Google review
I have been to park many times in the past 43 years that I lived in the Dunedin area. I recently went to see how the park faired after Hurricane Milton. There were many trees down but there were signs of new vegetation that may have been carried to the park either by winds or flooding. Still a great place to hike as there are many different trails to hike.
Rhonda H — Google review
Beautiful park for walking. About 3 miles if you do all the trails, lots of shade. Trails are clear and well maintained. Not much wildlife, but you can see butterflies, gopher tortoises, and birds here. Also has a playground for kids and a place for dogs to run and play.
Amanda M — Google review
A very nice park to find in a rather populated area. You can walk a variety of paths that are very natural, dirt or shell, and many under the shade of old trees. There are clean facilities, picnic pavilions and a mix of upland, and lowland areas. We tend to type nature parks and this is a bit more utilized for neighborhood walkers and such, but still a nice spot to get out under some trees, see a few animals ( several tortoises and rabbits). There are a few canals through the park and we spotted ducks and ducklings and you could see schools of mullet. I always enjoy seeing some type of water when visiting a park, adds a little intrigue. There is also a boardwalk area that goes over a saltwater marsh area where we spotted many fiddler crabs and a few types of birds. There is a Frisbee course that there were several were making use of. That was fun to just watch for a bit. Covering all the trails and loops we were able to walk 5 miles which was a goal and we were mainly under shade, had clean restrooms available. If you go I recommend looking for the small butterfly garden if you like that sort of thing and check out the old church built in 1888 that was moved to this property and restored. (these two things are right next to one another near one of the entrances.) Between all these things it is easy to make this a nice afternoon on a good weather day.

Honeymoon Island State Park, located in Dunedin, is a barrier island known for its pristine four-mile white-sand beach and clear, calm waters. Visitors can enjoy swimming, fishing, and hiking while taking in the natural beauty of the virgin slash pine forest. The park offers amenities such as showers, restrooms, a cafe serving food and drinks, and rentals for bicycles, kayaks, beach chairs, and umbrellas.
Awesome place to go for a little day adventure. If you want to get all the way to the end of the island it will be a little bit of a hike. Pretty secluded the further you go though. Very nice powdery white sand beaches. Not too crowded on a weekend. The entry fee does cost but it’s not much, I think $4 per car or something. Cool wildlife to see as well. Several beach access points.
Royal G — Google review
So tbh I didn’t feel this place lived up to expectations we drove out there the day of our flight heading home. This was the last beach we were going to it was a bit of a let down. To be fair it was very nice there but compared to other beaches we went to for free this beach was 8 bucks to get into the state park. Not trying to bash the place the rangers were all very nice the visitors center was also very nice just so many other beaches we went to were free and in my opinion nicer. I thought the shell tree was really cool too
P P — Google review
Love this beach!! Def my new go to. Perfect for paddleboarding or just hanging out. U can rent or bring your own. It get a busy towards the afternoons but there is tons of parking.
Angie G — Google review
This is one of my favorite spots to go to the beach. Entrance is $8 pretty car up to six people, but it is so worth it! The sand is nice and fluffy with lots of seashells. The water is warm and not too many waves, the sunset is magical and so so sooooooo pretty. There are showers and bathrooms with changing stalls here. Definitely give this place a visit, your will enjoy every minute of it.
Joseph P — Google review
We decided to explore a new spot while in Florida and headed to Honeymoon Island Beach just outside of Dunedin. The island is surrounded by lush greenery and nature, yet also offers a gorgeous stretch of beach. On the way in, we saw several turtles crossing the road—there are even special crossings for them, so be sure to slow down and watch out. It’s a perfect blend of natural beauty and seaside relaxation.
Stephanie C — Google review
It costs $8 a car load up to six people but well worth the cost. This is a beautiful State Park and is well kept up minus some of the buildings still being closed from last year's hurricanes. We went for a drive but ended up spending hours here walking the beach ⛱️ and viewing the different hiking paths and dog beach here. Definitely would come back and make a day out of it. There was one food truck and all bathrooms are replaced by port of johns. Hopefully they will be able to get the buildings back up and going soon.
Mark M — Google review
Absolutely perfect! If you're looking for a less crowded and more local beach this is definitely it! White sand beaches and endless seashells for the kiddos to hunt. We had an awesome time here!
Jason D — Google review
Best state park and beach in the area! It did get pretty beat up from the 2024 hurricane season, but still one of the most natural, filled with soft white sands and plenty of parking. The entrance fee is $8 per car up to 4 people, and they take credit cards. The pavilions are still closed, but there are rows of porta pottys. Perfect for families, as it's easy to get to the beach areas with multiple entrances that have walkways. The water is calm and has shallow areas at low tide to just sit in your chair as the water bushes up against you. So relaxing! Fantastic for sunsets! The dog beach area is a little bit of a walk to get to, but one of the nicest around.

Caladesi Island State Park is a serene oasis just off Clearwater's coast, offering visitors an escape from the usual tourist hustle. This pristine island can only be reached by ferry or kayak, making it a hidden gem for those seeking tranquility. With its stunning white sand beaches, it's ideal for beachcombing and shelling enthusiasts eager to discover unique seashells along the shore.
Perfect beach to visit. Lots of shells and sand dollars and no crowds. We liked it so much we went back a second day.

Pure Awesomeness! From the ferry ride there, to the unspoiled natural beauty, white sand & sparkling water. Capt Steve & First Mate George were very friendly & helpful. Reasonable prices...$8 Park entrance fee, $20 Round trip ferry ride, $35 Cabana rental which includes 2 chairs, an umbrella and 2 fountain drinks. Made to order sandwiches $9 - $14 (We ordered the BLT, Tuna salad & burgers, including a veggie burger). All delicious and prepared & served with smiles from Sean & Slavisa :) All around...a beautiful experience!
KaLynda N — Google review
This is hands down my favorite beach in Florida! The white sand and turquoise water are absolutely stunning. We’ve been here twice now, and it’s the perfect spot to relax and spend the day. While it’s still bouncing back from hurricane damage, it’s definitely worth the visit!
Secondhand S — Google review
Beautiful ! Lots of small fish swimming around. My only recommendation is maybe bring some bug spray.
Monique R — Google review
If you're looking for a beach with beautiful water and not a lot of people, Caladesi Island is the place. It's beautiful, and the sand is so soft. They also have a small restaurant inside. The food was good but again pricey. $9.99 for a hamburger and $2 to add cheese. You can kayak from Ho eymoim Island, take the ferry, or go with your own boat. The ferry is nice but pricey at $18 per person for 4 hrs. The crew are nice, but if you have more than 3 people, it's not something you'll probably do very often. It's about a 15-20min boat ride depending on if there are dolphins. The captain will stop so you can see them.
Jessica C — Google review
Love this place go to Honeymoon Island to catch a boat ride over to the Island $20 adults $10 children small kids are free
Linda M — Google review
Oh wow! This is one of those places you wish you had known about forever, if you haven’t been before. You have to take a ferry and no wagons or carts, so consider that when packing. But once you get there (about a 15-20 minute ferry ride), there is a pretty decent concession stand/little market, clean bathrooms, and plenty of blue chairs/umbrella combos to rent for $35, and the softest white sand you’ve set foot on. Really I could go on about this location - ferry captains were knowledgeable & offered everyone to take a pic of their group, we were greeted by dolphins playing in the harbor as we arrived (even the rare albino dolphin!). Our daughter loved walking down the beach finding seashells. Even on the weekend it wasn’t that crowded. Truly one of the most serene and beautiful beaches we’ve visited. This is definitely on our must come and must come often list!!
Sheri M — Google review
Took a Ferry from Honeymoon Island to Caladesi Island. This place is excellent! We will definitely be back. Can't believe I had never heard of it and I have lived in Florida for almost 60 years! The beach is stunning and the atmosphere is excellent. Highly recommended.

Edgewater Park is a small, cozy park located right along the waterfront at the Dunedin Marina. It offers plenty of shade from the trees and features picnic tables, a playground for kids, and scenic views of the marina. The paved sidewalks throughout the park lead to picnic shelters and various sitting areas. Visitors can enjoy free parking and take in a beautiful sunset over the water, making it an excellent spot for capturing stunning photos.
A small, cozy and well maintained little park, right across from Bon Appétit and a lovely marina in downtown beautiful Dunedin. A decent bathroom facility, a lovely gazebo and a massive shaded area to simply sit down, read and wait for the most amazing sunset. Also has a cute little play park for kids and adequate parking.
Suzette Z — Google review
Edgewater Park is a nice place to enjoy walking out to the small pier, playing on their children’s outdoor park area, have a picnic lunch, and the people watching is good. The parks children play area is well taken care of and a nice place to enjoy, and is walkable from downtown. This is our 2nd favorite Dunedin children’s playground. It’s a very walkable area with a pretty pavilion that you could have a little lunch on. The marina is visible from the park so you can see the boats that are docked there. It’s a very pretty setting and we use it quite often living near downtown Dunedin. I’ve also done a photo shoot there with my extended family on Fourth of July. So it’s just an overall beautiful environment. The bathrooms are about 90% kept up with IE Clean.
Kelly M — Google review
This is a very nice park in downtown Dunedin. It has parking, it is near the pier and water. Plenty of large shade trees, too. There is a very good playground and bathroom facilities. A nice shelter and The Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial. It is a smaller park but convenient bring on the edge of downtown and water.
Charlene M — Google review
What a great little park in downtown Dunedin There are paved sidewalks throughout the park with picnic shelters, playgrounds and plenty of places to sit. We stopped in at Edgewater Park while riding the Pinellas Trail. When we stopped in it was quite crowded as there was a music festival going on with live music in the amphitheater and vendors set up throughout the park. We had a good time. Great place to take in a sunset.
Ray W — Google review
Really nice park with Marina and downtown Dunedin within walking distance. Love coming here. It was the first place I ever went for a walk when I moved to Pinellas County. A great place for your kids, exercise, seeing the water, finding good eats nearby and just an easy park for great access to Dunedin, the water and many other places within walking distance.
Rajiv H — Google review
Photos I saw had me thinking this was a huge sprawling park. Actually, it's a small cozy place. Lots of trees and shade, a scattering of strategically located picnic tables, a kids play area, public bathrooms and a scenic view of the marina and local businesses. I had a nice cigar after lunch. Lot's of folks eating their lunch, walking dogs, riding bikes, exercising and relaxing. If your in the area, a nice spot to chill with plenty of free parking. Nicely located near the busy business and marina area of Dunedin, where tons of local eateries and shops reside.

John Grant Hubbard Park is a picturesque park located just a short distance from downtown. It offers stunning views of St. Joseph's Sound, the intracoastal waterway, and Clearwater harbor. Visitors can enjoy leisurely strolls, bike rides, or simply relax on the benches while taking in the natural beauty and friendly atmosphere. The park is an ideal spot to witness breathtaking sunsets, although at low tide there may be some unpleasant odors due to its waterfront location.
Nice straightaway to walk and run. Sunsets are beautiful. End is attached to a park and can continue on down toward the Clearwater direction.
Natasha N — Google review
I went to this park because I was told the sunsets are beautiful. They were not lying. I enjoyed walking the path to capture pictures. There are benches to sit on along the way. There are docks, but they are marked private. Many residents starting crossing the street to watch the sunset. People were very friendly. As far as the “park” part, I am unsure about that. I intend to go back and check it out. I will update as soon as I do. I was unsure of where to park. I ended up parking on a side street. Hopefully once I return I can find where the park begins and where to park. If your looking for a spot to see a beautiful sunset, this is your spot!
Jessica C — Google review
Beautiful little roadside park. Today (August 30, 2023) the walk was a bit more exciting than usual as Hurricane Idalia had passed by offshore last night. Part of Edgewater Drive, which parallels the park was flooded by the storm surge. There were ducks floating down the street and then floating out over the park into St Joseph's Sound. This little park is always worth a visit.

The Fred Marquis Pinellas Trail is a 38.2-mile recreational rail trail that spans from St. Petersburg to Tarpon Springs, offering a picturesque journey along Florida's western shore. This linear trail provides stunning Gulf Coast views and takes travelers through urban waterfronts and charming downtown areas. Additionally, it connects to other trail systems, including a 75-mile loop within Pinellas County and the Coast-to-Coast Connector Trail, which stretches 250 miles across the state.

Amberlea Park is a pleasant and compact recreational area with an attractive playground for children as its main feature. The park offers ample shade, making it a comfortable spot to play even on hot days. Additionally, there are benches and picnic tables available for visitors to relax or enjoy outdoor meals. Although lacking water fountains and bathrooms due to its neighborhood setting, the park's unique design caters to intermediate and advanced climbers while also providing a smaller playground for younger children.
Amberlea Park provides a playground experience primarily designed for older kids who enjoy climbing and active play. While the lack of fencing or gates around the playground is a drawback, the park's placement away from the road helps mitigate safety concerns. One downside is the limited parking situation, essentially a niche in the grass with overgrown gravel, which may be inconvenient for visitors. The absence of restrooms is another consideration for families planning a longer stay. On a positive note, the park's natural beauty shines through with its huge, majestic trees providing ample shade, making it comfortable for both children and onlookers, especially on sunny days. The massive playground structure offers various opportunities for older kids to engage in active play, making it a great spot for energetic youngsters. Overall, Amberlea Park is a pleasant outdoor destination, especially if you're looking for a playground suitable for older kids, but it may require some adjustments in terms of parking and restroom facilities for a more comfortable visit.
Wendy W — Google review
Nice wooded and shaded park gives some relief from heat in the summer for kids to play without being in the sun. Some nice variations of playground equipment that differs from your standard setups.
Jim S — Google review
Very nice local park in Dunedin. It’s fully shaded by large trees which was so nice for summer in Florida. All of the playground was shady so kids won’t have issues with hot playground equipment.

Nice little park. The centerpiece of the park is a children playground. There is a lot of shadow, so it’s comfortable to play there even in a hot day. There are several benches and picnic tables. It’s a nice park to come with kids or to have a lunch outside.

Very nice park lots of trees and shade. It’s a neighborhood park so there isn’t any water fountains or bathrooms. The design is very unique, set us for intermediate to advanced climbers. They have a smaller playground for kids who can’t climb as well though.

Tons of shade. Dogs okay on a leash. Really cool obstacle-course type of playground with swings. They also have a smaller playground for little ones. Big field with trees to play in also. Great place for a picnic.

Achieva Paw Park is a serene and wonderful dog park that offers separate areas for big and small dogs. The big dog side features benches, picnic tables, water bowls, a dog pool, shade, a tunnel, and agility poles. It's not too crowded so you can always keep an eye on your furry friend while they have plenty of room to run around. The park is well-kept and located next to Achieva Bank in a beautiful campus setting.
Took our 75 lb pup to the big dog side of this park and it is amazing- tons of benches plus picnic tables, water bowls all over, a dog pool you can fill up, shade, a tunnel and agility poles, and super friendly dog owners. It seems like the small dog side is busier and we were the only dog in the big dog side for a while. But soon there were a few other dogs and the nicest dog owners. I like that the park isn’t huge so that I can always see my dog. Lots of room to run though.
Dark H — Google review
My dogs love this park and so do I for the most part. The only reason I don't give this great park a 5 star is because people with large dog well over the weight limit bring their dog's over to the small side. Not all small dogs like large dogs, not all large dogs know how to play with small dogs it's safer for the small and the big dogs to be separated. (Ask all the small dog owners if it's okay before bringing your big dog over)
Jordan H — Google review
Great dog park with two sides, one for big dogs and one for little dogs. Most people and dogs are friendly and playful. Some areas don't have good grass coverage, so expect a little dirt if there is rough playing or ball chasing. Free parking and some seating in the shade.

Incredible! I heard about this park the for buddy the last few trips down, but just realized it’s a charity/communtiy effort from Achieva bank. Wow, that’s the right way to give back 🐶

Love this dog park. Great size, very clean. Lots of places for people to sit and see their pups. Plenty of water bowls, working hose and a poop station. My puppy likes going there.

I think it's the best Dog Park in Dunedin. It has two large separate sections for small and big dogs. Has picnic tables, several benches and shaded areas. There's plenty of free space for running and getting to know other dogs and there's handy hoses installed for water bowels or doggie pool use. The easy in-and-out gates make it stress free.
Estrella — Google review
Has large and small dog sides. About 85 percent of pet parents were attentive and cleaning up after their dog. Has shade trees, benches, pools, water bowls. Mulch kept getting in my sandals so I plan to wear sneaks there in the future. Lots of parking. Friendly place.
Chelley M — Google review
Big park. Plenty of parking. Two separate areas. One for small dogs and one for big dogs. Plenty of space to sit with shade. Well kept. Water for dogs. Small dog area is L shaped, so if your dog is a little shy, you have room to kind of be away from the other dogs. People are great. Well visited.

Dunedin Causeway is a popular spot in Dunedin, Florida, connecting Bayshore Boulevard to Honeymoon Island State Park. It's a great place for various activities such as sunbathing, fishing, and watersports with its picturesque surroundings of water on both sides. The causeway is also known for its stunning sunsets and offers opportunities for kayaking and paddleboarding. Visitors can rent equipment if needed and enjoy refreshments at nearby establishments like High & Dry Grill or Frenchy's.
Walking, jogging, kayaking, fishing, or beach it up. Love this area. Nicer on one side than other for, "beaching". Leads to Honeymoon Island. Causeway is free to park and public restrooms, if open.

This is a great unkown jewel of a place to hang out and chill AFTER the sunset! I will occasionally roll out there after sunset on the West side of the "High & Dry Grill" and back my truck right up to the water. Out comes my beach rockin chair, my bluetooth speaker, and my 6-foot Delta kite with 30-foot tails. I'll turn on some club-mix house and trance tunes and enjoy watching my kite dancing in the sky. ....Total cost? ....$0.00-dollars!
Victor P — Google review
First time stopping off on the Dunedin Causeway to get the view of a great sunset. Went there on a Wednesday evening and while it had a lot of people, it didn't feel crowed. Drivers and visitors were courteous. Tide was way out, so it wasn't as picturesque, but the area had plenty of space to walk. Sunset was, as always, spectacular. Definitely would stop at this causeway again.

This is actually a different nice experience. This is not only a beach but you can kayak for few feet into the ocean where you can find the sandbars to wall around, which felt nice. Plenty of parking, and water also looked nice. If you drive further into island you will find extended beach. I have seen several people doing water adventures.

Despite the addition of pickleball causing more activity here, I find the community garden a valuable location in Dunedin. One of the few un-gated gardens in Pinellas, there is a covered pavilion, bathrooms, water fountain, walking trail, and grass/gravel parking. Only the ADA spots are paved.

Honeymoon Island State Park Pet Beach is a paradise for dogs and their owners. Dogs have their own beach area where they can play in the water and run around, as long as they are on a 6-foot leash. They are also welcome on the nature trail and other non-beach areas of the park. The beach itself offers beautiful sand and clear waters, comparable to Clearwater Beach. Visitors appreciate the friendly staff at the entrance who provide helpful directions.
Beautiful dog beach. My dog didn’t care for the Florida heat, I understand because of his breed. We did get eaten up by sand fleas from this beach. Watch out for rattlesnakes along the paths. But it’s definitely a beautiful beach/island.
John R — Google review
No question why this is the most-visited state park in Florida. It's affordable, peaceful, well-maintained, protected, and teeming with wildlife. Bring sunscreen and bring bug spray. There is zero shade and A LOT of mosquitos. If you're lucky enough to see the beautiful burrowing tortoises, remember to keep a respectful distance. Bathrooms and water fountains can be found at the bath houses. Plenty of parking. Dog beach is a great asset, although I wish the state would re-connect the dog wash station which has been without water since Hurricane Helene (Sept 2024).
Lindsey B — Google review
Honeymoon Island is beautiful and affordable, but our experience at the pet beach was less than ideal. Unlike the main beach, the pet beach is full of rocks. Also, the trail to the beach is overgrown and I had to stop every few steps to pick sandspurs out of my poor dog's paws. I ended up carrying her most of the way back to my car only to discover that the wash station is out of order. Definitely not the fun little adventure I was hoping for.
Lisa L — Google review
This is our favorite pet beach in the area! Wish the area had a bit less rocks at water entry (like if part of the "no pet" area was for pets too would be great for my feet) but other than that its wonderful, and so beautiful. Everyone is kind & most people follow the rules & the area (& water) is clean. The showers don't work here anymore since a hurricane awhile back but I THINK they're trying to fix now.
Brandy S — Google review
Beautiful area for you to play with your pup & the water is very clear. However, bug spray is highly recommended! Also, there are plenty of signs saying to pick up after your dog however we didn't see any trash bins.

My wiener dog was swept away in the current here. Some muscle bound freak had to save my girl for me. I was then inclined to makeout with him. I would do anything for my girl❤️ I go to this beach at least once a month now… looking for seashells… while looking for him!

7/6/25 Fletcher and Bronco walked about 2.0 miles around the pet beach 🏝️ we walked the trail and there was tons of mosquitos 🦟 so spray yourself or walk to pet beach 🏖️ from the big parking lot and grey building you will enter the beach and go left for pet beach
Dani M — Google review
Years and years ago the mosquitos were never like this. Local and unfortunately dont feel like its worth going anymore. The park seriously needs to do something about the pests. Its f Disgusting. Spray doesn't really fully protect you because its so bad and doesnt really change during December either. We stopped in at the Rotary Centennial Nature Center while visiting the Honeymoon Island State Park. This is a nice little nature center offering exhibits, displays and information about the history and nature of the park. The staff were friendly and informative. There is a gift store where you can purchase souvenirs as well as your annual park pass. The balcony around the building offers wonderful views of the Island and the Saint Joseph Sound. They also have a small garden area featuring local species of plants. A great place to stop when visiting the park.

Great nature center located inside Honeymoon Island State Park. Prices are very reasonable, and the volunteers are happy to suggest walking trails. Great overview map of the entire island located inside. You have to climb stairs... no elevators due to flooding issues from hurricanes. We go inside every time we visit the park. Well, worth the time and effort. We always find some cute trinket to bring to grandkids.

Great place to buy annual passes for individuals or families. You will see information about the wildlife inside. They give you examples with photos. The maps also display the island trails. You can check out the great view outside. They have a plant garden with native Florida plants. Everyone is friendly and nice to talk to.

The Nature Center is interesting. Several items about the local area and the wildlife, tides, etc. Some touristy things to buy. The personnel are really great with tidbits of interesting information. But one of the best and possibly most ignored aspects is the area out behind the Nature Center where there are picnic tables and benches. You can sit and take in the beautiful scenery and water views in very peaceful surroundings. It is worth going just for that.
Ted M — Google review
Stopped in to get our annual family pass while it was 50% off (I believe the state park pass is still on sale until the 14th of January). As you might imagine there was a crowd of folks waiting, but once they called in some backup the line wasn’t too bad. While waiting I had a chance to check out the nature center. It was more in line with a gift shop than a nature center but there was a nice display of sea shells for identifying those you might pick up at the beach. I also really enjoyed reading the history of Honeymoon Island and how it became a state park. If you haven’t been, I highly recommend this pretty sea side state park.

It’s a gem. Plenty of activities for all ages. Very affordable. The only negative comment is one of the front desk employees who’s got very argumentative approach to solving problems that aren’t even problems while dealing with anyone else in there. Second thing I’d like to point out is absolutely atrocious snacks they give kids at the kids camp. My nephew was vomiting until late night after eating camp provided hot dog, chips and pizza on 4th of July event, and my daughters are being offered synthetic ice popsicles (see photo) every week that are worse than junk food. I asked who buys them for the camp and apparently the city provides them which makes it even worse since with the bureaucracy it will be impossible to get them to replace them with a healthier option. I have no complaints about the camp overall, on contrary, every single person involved is doing amazing work. I had opportunity to interact with most of the camp group leaders and other staff, I can’t say enough about how nice they are. Polite, friendly, respectful, professional, helpful. The supervisor is amazing too. It’s our second year in the camp and we had wonderful experience both times. So overall I would give our Community Center all 6 stars if I could.

Only used the fitness centre here — it’s unbelievable. Perfect gym, super clean and all the equipment you need for an awesome workout. The staff is super friendly too, always a pleasure coming to say hello. Love this spot and keep up the great work!

I love this place! It's nice, clean, and everyone is so kind. I want to give a special thank you to Mr. Alex. I was having a hard time signing up for something online, so I called for help. He was incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and helped solve my problem. Thank you for everything!

Nice expanse and location - however, for large events (Highland games in April) parking is a big challenge. Ended up getting much needed exercise walking 20 minutes each way. If there's a large event be certain you're up to the walk or have a shuttle.

So glad I learned that DCC is the host location and home to Dunedin's Fencing Club. I've been looking for a club that practices Saber and was happy to find that Epeé, Foil and Saber are all practiced here! The staff at the front desk are always so kind and I really appreciate the facility and the environment there!

Beautiful, clean rec center with friendly staff. The 1-3 pm linedance class on Saturdays with Gail is the best!

I am not a member and do not use the gym or other amenities, but I am part of an organization who uses the community center on a weekly basis. The community center is always immaculate and sparkling clean and very well cared for. All of the staff are friendly and always look you in the eye and greet you when you’re coming or going. I do not live very close, but it’s so nice I’ve considered joining up and using the gym. It’s a really nice place with nice people running it.

Scotsdale Park, located in the Scotsdale Subdivision, offers a serene environment with its nearly one-mile hard surface trails, playground, picnic shelter facility with electricity, and bike rack. The eight-acre passive park features a large pond and wooded section where visitors can spot ducks, turtles, various birds, otters, coyotes, bunnies and dogs enjoying walks. The shaded paved walk around the lake is complemented by benches every 50 feet.
I love this beautiful little park. The walking trail around the lake is short but shaded. The trees are gorgeous, and for those who will use it, there is a fenced playground, picnic tables under a shelter and restrooms.
Jessica R — Google review
Nice little playground. I like that it's fenced in, I just wish the lock mechanism on the playground gate door worked. The bathrooms are open but could use some repairs. The damage in the bathrooms look like it came from the floods from a recent hurricane.
MJ C — Google review
Cute little park with a nice covered seating area. The two ponds are pleasant for walking around. The park is located in a nice neighborhood that seems friendly and safe. The bathrooms are less than nice but do the job.
Alyssa H — Google review
This is a great playground in Dunedin, off of Keane Rd! It has a nicely shaded area, well maintained with benches for parents to sit too. They have different play structures for different ages.
Estrella — Google review
A great place for relaxing and walking around the lake. There are benches about every 50 feet. Water birds enjoyed the water, although a sign said do not feed the alligators. The paved walk was shady. Restrooms and picnic tables available. A nice children's playground too.
Kathy-tab P — Google review
Absolutely beautiful and peaceful. Little pond, lots of ducks and other wildlife. Benches to just relax, a walking trail around the pond as well. Shady and cool to beat the Florida heat.

Nice little neighborhood park in and around a deeded community. Bathrooms, grill, covered picnic and benches. Very well maintained and safe place to play with some shade over play structures.

Stirling Skate Park, located within the MLK Jr Recreation Center, offers a 10,000 sq ft skatepark with two bowls, a street plaza, snake zone, step up, rail and hubbas. It caters to both beginner and advanced skaters with various courses, lessons and workshops available. The park is known for its friendly staff and limited capacity to ensure a pleasant experience.
Great place for skateboarders.Course is a little advanced but a good place to ride around none the less. Some bigger ramps and more of a vert or pool skating park. Scooters do well here also. A lot of scooter riders. Some Friday nights there's scooter jam even some months
Travis F — Google review
Have been bringing my family here for events, camps or even just to play on the playground for years. It's a fantastic benefit to living in Dunedin, and a place I recommend as an option to parents looking for something their kids can do, or a camp for them to attend. Staff is always top notch, great, helpful and friendly people I've interacted with for several years now. Inside, there's a full court gym, as well as a few rec rooms. There is an outdoor skate park, accessible from inside, though neither my kids nor I have been in there yet. Hopefully I'll remember to update my review when/if that changes.
Patrick — Google review
Only park around w/ a legit swimmer replica. The big bowl is fun but has been Under construction so not in use rn. But Swimmer is still open!! Whole park is sidewalk like textured concrete so it’s a nice change from that slick shit all the newer parks use. Great if u like transition
Luke B — Google review
If I could rate lower I would, this park has denied me access on several different occasions all while presenting itself open to the public. Instead of being informed on a membership I have only been kicked out and ignored. After a lot of specific research I finally found out that 1. You need a membership to get in and 2. The park has been closed due to construction. The lack of information and respect has made me completely uninterested in skating here. I do not recommend you waste your time in trying to skate here.
AidenOriginal — Google review
This aint a real park i get the liability issues but not only are they charging you to get in (5$ everytime) but they also make you wear full gear and if your under 18 your need a parent? This "skatepark" is honestly pathetic since theyre making you pay 5$ just to use half the park
Mason R — Google review
They just don't let you in, even if it's open. And on top of that they want you to pay a membership for a park that's always closed
Aiden B — Google review
Would’ve loved to skate there after an hour and 30 min drive, but after arriving the office was closed 30 mins early. Not to mention this place looks like a surveillance camp there’s cameras absolutely everywhere and there’s a MOTION SENSOR for the skatepark itself, should’ve saved the county the money and bought the public schools some books instead… go anywhere else fr
James L — Google review
The bowl looks nice, but it was closed due to repair. Not sure why this place opens at 2pm. This is Florida, it gets way to hot by then. I was still going to be charged 5 dollars to only use half of the park? These places should be free.

Dog park
Happy Tails Dog Park offers a great experience for both dogs and their owners. Divided into two separate areas, one for large dogs and the other for small dogs, the park provides ample space to play and socialize. Each area is fenced and equipped with amenities such as dog drinking fountains, benches, picnic tables, and doggie litter bags. The large dog section also features training and exercise equipment.
We really enjoy taking our pups to this park. The shade is wonderful when it's sunny. It's a little tricky to find... like a hidden gem. You'll have to wind through the road and behind the baseball fields.
M T — Google review
It's not a horrible dog park. It's a little tricky to find, you have to wind through a base ball park and some racquetball courts to find it. It's a smaller dog park compared to many I have been to. There are some nice oak trees which provide nice shade, however they need to be trimmed higher because the oaks have killed all the grass around the majority of the fenced area. Pair that with a leaky dog watering area and you have a muddy mess.
Davis R — Google review
It's a decent park with lots of room to run. Unfortunately the ground is very uneven and rocky. The dogs were polite but the same can not be said about the owners. They are either talking between each other and ignoring their dogs as you try to enter or they are on speaker phone ignoring their dogs while talking very loudly about thier very opinionated ideas and thoughts. The dog park is a place to play and enjoy your day not to hear about someone's close mindedness while their dog is hogs other dogs toys. The owners are quick to push your dog away from them when the dogs come up to say hello. It wasn't a great experience but my dog got to run for a bit and that's what counts. Needless to say we won't be back.
Emi H — Google review
Terrible dog owners. Both my dogs were humped and peed on. The playground looked nice but other dog owners of very large dogs used the playground for their unleashed pets, so I was unable to let our kid play. The park is beautiful but the people are aweful.
Sonya M — Google review
Plenty of room for dogs to run. A big and small dog area.
Debbie V — Google review
I have gone there numerous times and never had a problem. Yesterday I went with my two brindle plott hound puppies that are about a year and a half old. There were 3 ladies in the back of the park. My male jumped on her. I apologized that they were puppies and I was working on the jumping. One lady told me I needed to control my dog as the other lady puther knee up and showed me something to try. I explained I did and they were only a year and a half old. I was then told my is the same age and does not do that. I told them I did not want my puppies to ruin there day from ignorence and left. I am sorry I will not be back. I now am looking for another park.
Bernadette B — Google review
great spot for Spot. Lots of nice grass. Shady areas. Lots of sitting for two legged animals. Water, hose, hand sanitizer available. Our Yorkies really liked it. You may even catch a ball game at adjacent field.

The park offers a pleasant view of the inland waterway and St. Joseph Sound, making it popular for watching sunsets. With benches to sit on and soft grass surfaces, it's also pet-friendly, making it an ideal spot for relaxation or taking sunset pictures.
A small neighborhood park with a few benches and a soft grass surface. It's one of the best places for sunset pictures and relaxing. It's pet friendly too!

We made a quick stop to view the sunset. Very easy access to pull up to and catch the pretty view. No there's not alot else here besides a pretty view and a bench or two. But we were able to get the job done!!
Carman D — Google review
Great hidden gem! I go here to watch the sunset away from the beach crowds. Easy street parking and you walk right up to the seawall where there are benches. If you get lucky you will see the violinist practicing his craft at sunset!
Foxx T — Google review
San Jose Park is a pleasant little area at the end of San Jose Drive facing the inland waterway and/or St. Joseph Sound and looking out toward Caladisi Island. There are two benches where you can sit and look westward out over the water. There is parking for a few cars next to the park. People collect there at sunset to watch the sun go down.
Ted M — Google review
It's a really small park with a seawall. There's enough grass for dogs and there's a doggie clean up station. There was a lot of seaweed and I didn't see any indication of the water depth. The view was nice as was the breeze. It could be a nice place to have a picnic as long as you bring your own food and drink. No bathrooms here. Parking for maybe a half dozen cars.

Nature preserve
Nestled in the heart of Pinellas County, the Gladys E. Douglas Preserve is a stunning addition to Dunedin's park system, having opened its doors in early 2023. This beautiful preserve stands as a testament to community spirit, showcasing how local residents successfully opposed development to protect this natural gem. While the trails may be short and not ideal for long hikes, they offer an intimate experience with Florida's unique flora and fauna.
This was the first time that I visited this park. I want to bring back some photographic equipment and take some better shots. This really is a beautiful place. Very unique. And it's nice to have a really natural undisturbed plot of land in the middle of Pinellas county. I didn't see any peacocks this time, but I know they're here.
Sdiverdown01 — Google review
It's a triumph that this land was saved from development. Florida rosemary scrub is rare generally and otherwise nonexistent in Pinellas after decades of overdevelopment. This preserve has a good amount of walking paths, although the scrub has been fenced off to protect it, but even so you'll be able to see a great deal of rare and unique life that you'll likely see no where else for miles and miles. The SW portion of the property is abandoned citrus groves, so there are quite a lot of invasives, but clearly the city has plans to restore this portion as well as expand their trail system.
Clear F — Google review
Beautiful place to enjoy nature. When I arrived there were 2 red shoulder hawks in a tree next to the parking lot. They flew away before I could get my camera ready. Still a work in progress but definitely a gem for Dunedin.
Judy R — Google review
A very unique habitat that has to be behind fences to be protected. I would like to explore but I can't because there is a high risk that I harm what I like. So it's more like going to a museum than going to a preserve with fences that protect the habitat from people like me.
Gottfried K — Google review
A brand-new park with about 1 mile of walking trails. They plan to expand it which is nice. Actually saw an old man driving a car through there telling me it was okay 😂 no sign said no car and he was right
David A — Google review
I have visited here many times and it is such a local beauty that was saved by the Dunedin community. Can't wait to see the next additions when they come to pass. This area houses so much to see that you can't see anywhere else in Pinellas County.
Rhonda H — Google review
Just opened February 25, 2023. Currently approximately .5 miles of trails. Pressed sand trails with lime rock. Main entrance on Virginia Avenue with Two other pedestrian trail heads on keene. A few benches. Very cool park with reindeer moss, rare rosemary shrubs and prickly pear cactus. This is one to watch and visit as it blooms into a gorgeous park with over 100 acres including Jerry lake!
Maryann S — Google review
I'm happy the city took action to purchase this property, after the last remaining Douglas owner died in 2019. I remember just 30 some years ago how my hometown Oldsmar used to look, and it kills me to see it now. I can only imagine how Gladys felt. At least now her land and legacy will last forever.

This is a beautiful, hidden gem park. It is right on the water and has plenty of seating to view the water. Plenty of parking, is wheel chair friendly, and dogs are permitted but must be on a leash. Lovely memorial to service members!!! Park has a 3 gazebos, a boccio ball court, and work out equipment. A nice paved path goes around the whole park for a great walk!!! Very clean park, well maintained, and lawn looks nice. There is a restroom also.

This is a beautiful park to represent our "heroes". It's a great place to sit and think about the many who fought for our freedom. This waterfront park is so special and meaningful to everyone in the area. It's located on E Shore Dr in Oldsmar and has pavilions, benches and names of local veterans with their ranks and dates of service. It was a humbling experience seeing so many friends and family members listed from the different military forces. It's a great place to visit and show your respect for those who have served.

As a United States Marine Corps Veteran, I truly value how Veterans Memorial Park in Oldsmar, Florida recognizes those who have served. This community park is spacious, clean, and very well maintained, with picnic areas, restrooms, and an open-air workout area with equipment. Located right on Tampa Bay, it offers beautiful water views and is one of the best places in Oldsmar to watch the sunset. What makes this park stand out is the community connection—it not only honors Veterans but also hosts events for Veterans and the local community throughout the year. A peaceful, respectful, and family-friendly spot that’s a real treasure for Oldsmar.
