Nature & Parks
Amerson River Park is a vast natural oasis spanning 180 acres, boasting woodlands, wetlands, and meadows. The park has been recently renovated with a multi-million dollar project, offering an immaculate wilderness experience. Visitors can enjoy picnics by the Ocmulgee River and explore the waters via canoe. Additionally, there are over 3.5 miles of walking trails that wind through tranquil woodland areas, providing opportunities to escape the city for a peaceful half-hour stroll.
Amazing park created where the water treatment plant used to be before a big flood in the early 90s. I love that there is a big paved loop path that is accessible as well as more “off road” hiking trails by the river and a pond. There is also a playground my kids love, plenty of parking, and a bathroom. Great views of the river! Bring bug spray if you go on the trails near the water, as the area is heavily wooded and there is lots of wildlife.
Hannah S — Google review
This is generally a clean park although there were a couple places where other people were smoking marijuana, which was not enjoyable to walk through. There are pavilions and overlooks here and plenty of space to hang out or walk or jog. There are a lot of memorials here where people drowned in the river so be super careful of the water here
B — Google review
Great off trail hiking with beautiful river views. Pavement trails available for those who prefer to walk, cycle, run & etc. They also provide an exercise circuit available free for those interested in working out & kids play ground. Safe & clean. Recommend for all ages

Very nice park, it’s clean, quiet and relaxing. They also have a park gym and area for tubing. My walk around was 30mins they also have small trails that’s connected to the big trail. I went in the morning, and it’s shaded and paved!

It was my first time visiting Amerson River Park with our CHOSEN life group, and I will personally be back . This park is a little hidden gem tucked away in North Macon. Gorgeous. Most of the trails are shaded by overlapping trees and It is filled with beautiful views of the river. There is a park for the children to play and pavilions for gatherings. At every turn there is picture worthy scenery for a morning walk, golfing, or a special event. A must see.
Tessany L — Google review
I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel compelled to speak up today because I truly care about our city. My husband and I have lived in Macon for nearly 10 years, and one of our favorite places has always been Amerson Park. We've enjoyed many peaceful walks along the river and have always admired how beautiful and well-maintained the park has been—until now. Today, we took our one-year-old grandson to the playground and were heartbroken to see how neglected this part of the park has become. The slide was broken in a way that could easily cause serious injury, and there was a hole in the flooring large enough for a child to trip or fall through. There were no baby swings available, and the existing swings were not only old and noisy but seemed unsafe. Worse, the playground itself was dirty, and mold was visibly growing on the shade structures. I’m not writing this to complain, but to raise awareness. This park is a gem in our community, and it deserves attention—especially the areas meant for our youngest citizens. Our children deserve a safe, clean, and fun place to play. I sincerely hope someone in the parks department sees this and takes action. We love Amerson Park and want to continue visiting it with our children and grandchildren, knowing they are safe and cared for. Thank you for listening

Nature & Parks
Tattnall Square Park, located near Mercer University in Macon's historic Intown neighborhood, is a picturesque city park offering a range of amenities. Visitors can enjoy a playing field, playground, picnic areas, and tennis courts. The park is known for hosting cultural events and offers scenic walking paths that lead to a beautiful fountain. With its old trees providing ample shade, it's an ideal spot for picnics and leisurely strolls.
This is a very nice park in Macon GA. I went mainly to see the Tattenal Fountain that is shown on 13 WMAZ. It"s a lot more beautiful in person and has Lilly pads the water comes out of and little stone frogs sitting on the fountain. It has several tiers and is soothing. The park itself has picnic tables, restrooms, gazebos, playground equipment and is dog friendly. It qualifies as a dog park. The park is very beautiful with the Autumn Leaves. Other fountains I recommend is Lafayette Fountain in Lagrange GA and the Jackson Fountains in Dublin GA.

My first visit to Tattnall Square Park was for the No Kings Protest and the park was so nice, clean and had free parking. I was impressed and will definitely will be back more often. I would highly recommend.

Lovely Park to enjoy a great time with your family and friends. The location is perfect. The Park is clean and amazingly beautiful. Sometimes have a festival and food truck. Check the agenda locally. You will have a lot of fun and enjoy the beautiful, and relaxed Park.
Simone P — Google review
A little bit of everything to see here, parking within the park, pickleball courts, soccer field, bathrooms, little libraries, and most importantly, a beautiful fountain with quotes lined around it. A different vibe from Amerson, probably top parks in Macon. Also along one side of the park is Mercer University and historic district, a scenic walk to be sure.
Sean R — Google review
A quiet, picturesque fountain that is very photogenic. I enjoy taking my camera with me everywhere. You never know when an opportunity presents itself. Fountains, flowing water and time lapse photos are interesting. After a Sunday afternoon visit for family pictures, my wife and I returned for some late evening photos. Highly recommended for a pleasant afternoon as well as a great place for night photography.

I use to play tennis a lot here. Pickleball is now in. You can play and get supplies for $3. There is a playground for kids, plenty of picnic area, benches and an area to play soccer with goals. Restrooms are a available.

Great park! It's beautiful, has places all around for various sports. Sidewalks to walk around, a beautiful fountain with quotes all around it and a nice playground for the kiddos. There are sculptures all around the park also that wlare beautiful.

Historical place
Park
Ocmulgee Mounds National Historical Park is a captivating 701-acre site that showcases over 12,000 years of human history, including the Paleo Indians and the Muscogee Nation. The park features seven Mississippian-era mounds, a museum displaying artifacts, and eight miles of hiking trails that offer insights into the area's past and its diverse wildlife. With ongoing efforts to preserve Native American history and culture, the park is on track to become a designated National Park.
Stopped by for the first time while on the road. So happy I did, as this park is nominated to become a full-fledged national park. The visitors center is architecturally surprising, art deco-like. According to the ranger, building began in the 1930s and completed in the 1950s. The park has seven mounds and several trails. The ceremonial Earth Lodge has been restored, allowing visitors to enter. Keep your head down as the entry corridor is very low. It is air conditioned, which was a pleasant surprise. Very interesting. Be sure to visit it's diorama in the museum. It depicts the tribal ceremonial seating arrangement. The Great Temple Mound is worth the hike to the top to see the surrounding vistas. There are plenty of benches along the way to rest if needed. There is a ni e gift shop as well. Time permitting, I will definitely return to more fully explore. It is well worth the visit.
Stephanie D — Google review
Definitely worth a trip to see these mounds. We had less than an hour before the gates closed and we saw two mounds and the museum. I'm glad I made time to go here and see some of our Georgia history. Plus it is free that is another reason to go.
Paul P — Google review
Visited while on the way from Hilton Head to Atlanta. Was looking for a quick attraction on the way and Google showed it on top. There is. Visitor center with a decent size museum and then mounds as main attraction. There were not many visitors as we reached quite close to the closing time. There were quite a few trails people were trekking. Nice place to visit one time, but avoid going during peak summer as there are not much shade around mounds.
Nirmal M — Google review
Made an impromptu stop here and had a lovely time. The trails and visitors center were closing at 5 and we had about an hour to explore before the gates shut but we were able to walk around and climb to the top of the temple mound (there's also parking at the bottom of the steps but we opted to walk from the visitors center). I wish we had more time to explore the rest of the trails, but now we know we want to come back! The visitors center is clean and has a nice exhibit and the rangers were super friendly and helpful. We came with our three young children and it was manageable. Highly recommend!
Emily G — Google review
I've been wanting to go here for years and my visit did not disappoint. Between the natural beauty and the cultural significance of the area, it's a must visit. The visitor center has very informative displays and a large amount of artifacts to view. I suggest starting off there to give yourself a good background before viewing the mounds. If you're a gift shop fan like me, the one here is small but mighty. I was happy to see they had items from local artisans for sale as well as the usual shirts/books/ magnets. The folks working in the visitor center were lovely as well. The mounds and trails were spectacular. Trails were well maintained and easy to follow. If you're limited on how much walking you can do, many mounds are visible from multiple parking areas along the road through the site. There is a staircase that takes you to the top of the largest mound which provides spectacular views and lets you immerse yourself in the significance of the site. Hiking trails are available around the area, and are all fairly short but pleasant hikes. There are many seating areas throughout if you need to rest or just want to sit and appreciate the area. Definitely bring of water and sunscreen because it's Georgia and the areas around the mounds are mostly in direct sun. There was a large amount of wildlife around as the park was not very crowded. The thing I was most surprised by was the amount of native wildflowers and other flora through the area. If you're a native plant lover, you'll find an unexpected treat here. I spent about 4 hours at the park and didn't make it through everything, so if you're a real history buff or like to meander, you could easily spend a whole day.
Sarah H — Google review
An oasis of history and nature just outside Macon! The park is beautifully maintained, with easy parking and a peaceful atmosphere. The small museum and gift shop are great, and the Park Rangers are friendly and knowledgeable. A wonderful place to explore—can’t wait to see it become a full National Park!

The shade is delightful! It was a great family experience. Building happy memories together makes your family stronger. ITS FREE! It was very educational and you won't regret going.

A great combination of history and hiking. I loved the fact we were allowed to go into the Ceremonial Mound. The exhibits were wonderful. We saw an alligator and a deer during our hike.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and natural beauty of Macon by taking a journey along the 11-mile Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. This trail offers a blend of scenic landscapes and significant historical sites, including the serene Rose Hill Cemetery with its ancient trees and historic graves. It's an ideal destination for both history enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
Terrible trail for biking. Not kept up and does not go to where trail maps say. Tried three trail heads for the 12 mile trail and could only go 2.5 miles each way. No restrooms open, trail not taken care of and Terrible ride for bikes with super skinny path that falls off drastically.
Kelly B — Google review
Dont bother biking. from the parking lot i tried to go towards the mounds but very quickly the trail ended and i had to carry my bike over a big construction site. on the other side the path was really bad and full of homeless camps. I finally turned around when there was a tent right on the bike path. Also the camps had dogs gaurding them offleash. I then tried going the opposite way. And quickly hit another construction site. I gave up and went to the camellia garden which is actually right on the other side of that path i believe. Also bring a towel. you have to bike through a lot of water and then through sand and mud. My bike needs a thorough washdown now.
Alice — Google review
Zero would be a better option. Trail full of mud and homeless seem to line the accessible parts of the trail.
Christina R — Google review
Wow..the city has let this go. Abanonded camps on entrance way headed to mounds but once you get out there it’s amazing. Don’t bother riding near the construction areas. Head out off mlK bridge torward the mounds down river…it needs to be cleaned and tended to. I used to spend so much time Back here…is it the city or Indian mounds that is responsible?

The Georgia Sports Hall of Fame is a museum that showcases the achievements of top athletes from the state through tours and exhibitions. Visitors can view an array of sports memorabilia, from footballs to tennis outfits, with a special section dedicated to basketball. This hidden gem also offers interactive games, such as a NASCAR driving simulator, for visitors to enjoy. The knowledgeable staff provides fantastic tours and meetings can be held on site.
This is a pretty cool place for sports fans in Georgia. I never knew that so many professional athletes were here and traveled abroad. My favorite exhibit was dedicated to Charlie Ward, who went to my college, Florida State.

Not as good as the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. All the kids interactive equipment seems outdated and worn out. Not too big and not many one of a kind pieces. The Texas one was also free for military, this one is not.

This is a great place! We were treated by Janet, she was so amazing. You could tell she really enjoys her job, and she even gave the kids scavenger hunts to earn a prize, and suggested other places to go after our visit ( which we did! Thank you Janet!). I definitely want to return with my husband to this hall of fame. It’s very family friendly and has the upmost exceptional staff.

Carolyn Crayton Park is a beloved downtown Macon destination that offers a variety of amenities for visitors. This central park features picnic shelters, grills, playgrounds, and a gazebo, making it an ideal spot for picnics and outdoor gatherings. Additionally, the park is known for hosting special events such as the annual International Cherry Blossom Festival.
We had a blast at the Cherry Blossom Best and can't wait to attend again next year. Good vibes, lots of food, great weather, and smiling faces. Bag checks were being enforced, and many had to take bags back to their vehicle. Made the lines and entry longer, but gave a huge sense of added security taking into account the actions of today's society.
TT T — Google review
Super nice fields in a nice park. I wish they were a bit wider, as they are too narrow for a true rugby field and according to some people in Macon, the city of Macon will not paint the field with rugby markings, even though rugby teams with up to 30-40 people travel as far as Charleston in the east and Montgomery in the west to compete and spend money in Macon. That's the only reason I would give the park 4 stars out of 5.
Germy B — Google review
We got there when the Festival started! It was super fun and beautiful seeing the cherry blossoms! The area was clean and had bathrooms available.
Gladys S — Google review
This is a very big and beautiful park. We can spend the whole day here. There is fresh air and beautiful trees.

I love this park. I can't believe that it doesn't have more people go to it. There are a few different playgrounds, a pond, a big gazebo, peaceful gardens, a SKATEPARK, several sets of restrooms, three football fields, a bunch of baseball fields in the back, lots of shade trees, plenty of parking, right off the Olcmulgee Trail, and it is very well kept up. Lots of things here to do and see. The area is SAFE. I have not been bothered out here one bit. I like to go out here to get exercise in and just be with nature. It is a nice place to visit. Check it out!
Kyle P — Google review
We really enjoyed the private section. The bathrooms could use more attention during the games. The food provided for us was good. Will definitely go again. Wear comfortable shoes or arrive early. It's a LONG walk with no shuttle service if you wait until the last minute.
Renee — Google review

I literally only left a star because I have to in order to leave the review. We went to this park today. I lived in Macon for 38 years before I moved to Nebraska. I've been gone 3 years, I came back yo visit my daughter and other family and took my kids to this park. What I saw her will never leave my mind and we will never be back. When we come back for subsequent trips we will not be coming to Macon. That makes me so sad because this used to be a beautiful city. Walking through this park we saw trash all over the banks of the pond, the playground equipment was dirty on all 3 playgrounds. There were homeless all over the park. Worst of all, we walked passed one of the bathrooms and there was the largest pile of human feces any person has ever seen ever. It was covered in flies and people just walked by like it was normal. There were grounds keepers every where.. I would say do better but yall won't. We'll just go back to Lincoln, thanks for the reminder of why we dont come to macon.

Chuck E. Cheese is a popular family-friendly chain that offers arcade games, pizza parties, play zones, and features a mouse mascot. The remodeled game area with a new card system has been well-received for being cleaner and more user-friendly.
Family friendly place. The staff was very nice and they serve you promptly. They came to check on us often. Destiny Mathews was one of the staff members that was very professional and greeted us in a friendly manner.

I'm not big on chuck e cheese or any place with a lot of screaming kids lol. My husband decided he wanted to take our little babies (we have 2 older kids as well) this past Wednesday. We arrived and the place was pretty much empty. It was about 2 1/2 hours before closing on a Wednesday. The kids had the place to themselves!! They loved it! They were looking for chuck e cheese to make an appearance and he did even though it was late. The pizza and customer service was on point too! We'll definitely be going back (weekdays of course lol)!!!

We went here for a friend's birthday party. The game area has been remodeled since we were last there and it is much nicer, cleaner, and easier to use thanks to the new card system (which has replaced the use of tokens). The birthday setup was the same as before and still nice for a party; my kids are still enamored with the videos and costumes. It was nice to see that each party has a dedicated staff helping the parents. Overall, a good place for a child's party.

Would not recommend a birthday party here. You'll be running around trying to locate your birthday host the majority of time, the pizzas will be served late, and there will be absolutely no organization for the two-hour time slot you have reserved. Our host kept diappearing and took forever to get kiddos squared away with socks and wristbands as they arrived because we had to keep leaving our party room to find her. She wasn't the nicest to work with and had quite an attitude. Overall, this was not worth the money and added stress. Will not book again.

I wish I had gotten the name of the sweet employee who helped us at the front desk, she was incredibly kind and took the time to walk me through the different ticket options to find what worked best for us. We ended up going with the Ultimate package so we could enjoy the go-karts and laser tag, and it was 100% worth it. My son is five, and we were there for four hours, but honestly, we could’ve stayed longer if we had more time. Every staff member we interacted with was kind, patient, and great with my son. One employee who checked us in even won a plush toy and gave it to him, which completely made his day! The café prices were surprisingly affordable, and we loved the huge selection of ICEE flavors. If I had to mention anything, it would just be that a little extra attention to cleaning the equipment and tables would make the experience even better. But overall, everything else was wonderful. We’ll definitely be making this a go-to spot whenever we’re in town!

When you come, there are signs posted to register online (which I did to bypass a longer line). My mistake. Once you pay, you go to the desk and see a small sign stating what is not available. I paid for the platinum and realized the kids wouldn’t be able to do the go karts and there were “ 2 or 3” working chargers for laser tag. I asked the manager if I could drop down to the lower package and she refused. She acted like it was no big deal since there would be 2-3 chargers working, even though there are more than that wanting to play together. I’m not sure how they are charging people to use things that are not working. It seems like a terrible business practice. But what do I know.

This place could really shine, perhaps it did, when new, but I left there today feeling like I had swam through a sea of sweaty gym shorts. There were exposed screws at the end of the obstacle course. I wonder how many years have to pass by before the balls in the ball pit and the large foam chunks in the battle pit get washed/replaced? Sullen employees walking around trance-like with phones in hand, really smelly foam/ball pits, and a venue that needs a serious scrubbing is what I experienced on my first visit today with my grandkids. Hopefully much soap and water and attention to detail throughout this gym can dress it up to help avoid failing in the near future as a Macon business.
Stuart K — Google review
Don’t get the membership because they will TRY and lock you in recurring monthly payments even if you move out of state with no Urban Air location even in our state. After finally getting someone on the phone you have to prove there is no location within 25 miles of where you live in order to cancel membership. This location in Macon was decent but staff needs to do better. My son and I waited over 20 minutes in a small line at the go karts. I didn’t notice the routine of how many cars were allowed to go at the same time but she also never mentioned if I wanted to race with my son we have to choose cars in the same lane when we first get in the karts. We were side by side instead and only myself and one other kid behind me were let out to race while three more people including my son sat in their cars and watched just two of us pointlessly go around the track. The lady’s response when I asked her why it was only two of us and she just said “they only let us do one lane at a time”. Well if she gave a crap about true customer service she would have had my son move karts to one in my lane so we could race together. Food was good otherwise and games were fun. As I mentioned before just be careful with the membership.

I had a great experience at my recent eye doctor visit. Communication throughout the entire process was excellent, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. I was seen quickly with very little wait time, which I really appreciated. Everything was very organized, making the visit smooth from start to finish. Dr. Simmons was personable, professional, and thorough—he took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel completely at ease. I highly recommend them!

Of my years of visiting doctors offices, this was by far the best experience ever. From my call to schedule an appointment to the actual visit, service was exemplary. Miss Keisha answered my many questions when I called to book an appointment with professionalism and kindness. And Dr. Murphy exceeded our expectations, explaining in great detail what the issue was and making sure we understood the process necessary to correct it. He took time with my husband and I and we left feeling confident that we were in the right hands. Would highly recommend them with no reservation.

Dr. Ellis and the staff took great care of me! Everyone was very kind. They made me feel welcome and I appreciate them. Dr. Ellis is very patient and doesn't rush you out. He's very compassionate and thorough. He answers any questions I may have and I am very appreciative.

Never have to wait no longer than minutes for my appointment. Every one is practically business like. Dr. Simmons has excellent manners. I just love going to him for my annual checkups. Stick to the business on hand and you are out.

I always feel so comfortable going to vision eye center. Everyone is so nice and friendly. I saw Dr. Murphy today and he was delightful. He did a great job working with me but we also had such a great conversation with each other. I’m so glad he joined your staff. He said all of you are like family.

This was my very first visit. Everyone I came in contact with was kind and helpful. The Dr’s assistant as well as the Doctor explained everything before they did anything and I felt at ease. Very good 1st impression😀
Linda M — Google review
I am not okay with an office that turns away an emergency visit because I did not schedule a follow-up appointment, due to my situation being better. It’s worse and I am in pain, so 2 weeks is too far for this condition- and anyone with optical knowledge knows this… If they say they tried to call, well, so did I! I work in eye care and was told this was the “best” place. If I was scheduling surgery for a non-emergency, I understand the waitlist, but I was always told you can’t turn away someone with an emergency 🤔

Great staff, very professional & no wait! Dr. Malone was very kind, gave me a thorough eye exam and reassured me that my facial shingles did not affect my vision. I highly recommend this Group of Physicians.

The staff was great. The place is spacious and safe for the kids. They are organized, and I also like that you can get food and drinks when the kids get hungry

We finally went for the glow night experience and it was awesome! They loved running around playing with the lights and music going. The crowd favorite was the obstacle course and they spent a good while trying to make it across each one. Definitely worth it for a great night with the kids. They had the dodgeball games, the foam pit, and the basketball hoops for dunking as well so there is a wide variety of activities for them to pick from while there.

Great clean fun!!! We are here at Homeschool Hop! ($10 per hour) PRICE TO ME IS HIGH, especially when we have to drive an hour and have more than one child. The kids have had a blast! Great time! Very clean! Women’s bathroom smelled and looked great! Drinks and food, little pricey. Overall great Friendly staff! Note: general jump area, basketball area, dodge ball area, foam pit area. Few tables to sit at on lower level along with small bleachers. Top level has seating so you can over look the jump areas, few tables. Also 2 massage chairs 🙃
Ashley F — Google review
Our family had a blast at Skyzone in Macon! $15 per hour, per person to jump. Activities include: dodge ball, foam pit, basketball, warped wall, and much more. We didn’t eat during this particular visit, so we’re unable to attest to food pricing and quality. We brought our own socks from a previous visit, so that wasn’t an added expense either. Overall, a very pleasurable experience! The kids had a BLAST and I must say we had fun just watching. Will visit again in the future.

Filmore Thomas Park is a fantastic spot for families looking to enjoy some quality time together. This well-maintained park features a variety of play structures that cater to children aged 3-16, ensuring there's something fun for everyone. With plenty of shaded areas, parents can relax while their kids frolic in the sun. The park also offers multiple grills, making it perfect for family picnics and gatherings.
The park is very nice. So glad it has a restroom. My grandson loves to play at this park. Very well kept.
Veka H — Google review
My kids ages range from 3-16. Together we all have fun. It is something for us all to enjoy individually. On Nov. 1 I was highly disappointed in our community. We as a whole complain about not having things for children to do but can't seem to bring it together to make work constantly. Take care of the things you want. Trash was all over the place and there are plenty of trash cans. Glass scattered everywhere under the pavilion. We have to do better.
Ann M — Google review
It's a nice place to take the kids to run around and use up some energy. The splash pad was turned on today, but there's been several times where I've come here on 90⁰ days specifically to let my kids play in the splash area and it wasn't turned on. It's a good, free way for kids to come have fun.

I enjoy this park for my children, but I do not enjoy one of the only parents that stay next to my kids on the park. Then there were strange dogs loose.
Nia E — Google review
My mom and I went there to take my baby brother so he could run around and have fun while being there he got stuck by 3 wasps and then we also noticed there were many other wasp nest in the playground equipment. We saw at least 4 counting the one that stung him. We really do like how the park looks like however it’s very dangerous for us to go there anymore due to how many wasp nest are there not under control. I really hope they fix the issue and exterminate them so it can become a safer place for children to play.

They are pricier than everyone else in Macon. For example: Everybody else in town sell a fifth of Jack Daniels for $26.99, but this place sells the exact same product for 36.99! That's a $10 difference!

Good selection and great people. They always have what I need and take care of me and get anything special I need. I have been getting my check cashed there for years and they always do me right. Some visitors suggest adding benches with backs for better viewing of skaters. Overall, it's a great place to spend time with family and have fun.
The family loved the skate park! There is plenty of different levels for all ages. The hubby dropped in on the vert part of the bowl and loved it. My 4yo loved the hills she's learning to stand. So in all I think it was an amazing time with the family.

One of my favorite skate parks. I appreciate how they have a track style sidewalk for use when the skate area is too crowded it’s a great ride to coast on. Only downside is they don’t leaf blow the path very often which leaves weeds and pebbles and makes the track less enjoyable.
Jenifer S — Google review
an underrated yet beautiful park to visit. lots of greenery which is a must for me. 3 nicely sized playgrounds that are safe and kept. Trash here and there but mostly clean. Definitely homeless folks out here. the skate park is dope. NO BATHROOMS.
Sane S — Google review
Update for May 20 2022; bathrooms are still locked; watch for broken glass… School day off for the kids y go and have fun. Not too crowded. Bathrooms that say they are “open for skate park convenience” were locked and have been for months as far as I can tell. Picked up an empty bottle of MD 20/20 that was off the pavement in the grass. Other than that not any trash to speak of.

Central City Park has advanced a lot over the years. This place is an awesome place to bring your children to play. Many of the youth take advantage of the skating park which I thought was an excellent idea by the Park and Recreation. In this same area there's a football field, playground for the little ones and a Senior Citizen Center (not sure if it's open yet). By the looks of things we can expect to see more in the near future.

However, the park's trail is underused and infested with spiders of all sizes. Despite this, the park is well-maintained and offers clean facilities with friendly staff.

As a Brit I love walking there aren't many pavement/sidewalks in residential areas to walk on👎, one Saturday I heard kids playing and wondered where this was happening so I followed the sound and came across this park and found baseball games being played,I sat down and watched for an hour as I have no clue about US sports, which I enjoyed 👍

As great as this park is, trail goers be warned! It is absolutely ridden with spiders of all sizes due to its underuse. The path is also not very worn so be sure to grab a picture of the path before you start. It’s very beautiful, but the spiders were just too much. You’ve been warned! Love everything else about the park though! Well taken care of.

Such a cute little hidden gem in Macon. We went through Camellia Garden to get to it so parking was much easier. It is beautiful and even though it was cool today it was perfect for little feet. They played in it for a good 30 minutes or so before we left. Would be a great spot for photography sessions also. Bob even found a broken branch in Camellia Garden and played pretend with the kids, he's a big kid at heart lol I love the little water fall and beautiful stone work along the path. The ivy over the tunnel was probably my favorite! There's not any actual park like toys for kids but mine LOVED walking in the shallow water and crunching up leaves. Check it out if your in Macon and have an extra 30 minutes to spare.

Great small park. Needs better signage for parking. The parking is on Parkview. There are trash cans but no tables, shelters or bathrooms. The area is beautiful even when the camellias are not blooming.

It was delightful. The weather was perfect! Parking was weird, you have to take Parkview Rd and then take the first right and you'll end up at Camellia Garden park, which is where there is parking. There really isn't any parking at Jackson Springs, but it's just a short walk from Camellia Gardens. There's a really small and pretty waterfall. I'll be returning and next time I'll take my dog. Dr. William Green Lee Camellia Garden is a public park in Macon, Georgia, known for its rich history and beautiful camellia plants. The garden was once the estate of Dr. William G. Lee, a founder of the American Camellia Society, and now features over 200 varieties of camellias, including rare species. Visitors can enjoy a paved walkway suitable for strollers and wheelchairs, as well as benches and shaded areas throughout the garden.
Super pretty! We parked here, so we could visit Jackson Springs where there is no parking. The Camilla’s weren’t in bloom but mulberries were growing and June berries! My boys played in the field. Nice quiet area and a cute little creek to play in.
Melissa H — Google review
Beautiful path lots of camellias blooming towards end of march. It was a bit confusing where peoples yards where and where the park ended. I think i wound up in a few backyards when i went off path. It connects into a lovely park. Only a couple of the camellias are labeled but there are some great ones i had never seen.
Alice — Google review
There is very little information about the garden online, but we had read that it could be accessed through Jackson Springs Park. We drove there one morning when we were in town and staying nearby. There doesn't seem to be any parking area for the park, and once we got in, the camellia area is surrounded by a fence that we had to climb through to look at because it was locked. We saw many camellia bushes but the blooms were less than ideal after a rain in January. We did not see walking paths at all. Maybe we were in the wrong place, but it would have helped if there was a website or at least better information to be found.

Since it’s Camellia season and the weather was glorious! This walk was well worth my time! A short walk to the end of the street connects you to the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail. It’s still a work in progress but worth the trek if you love walking in beautiful shaded areas with a paved walkway...

Nice little hidden gem to take the kids for a little while. They picked up so many fallen flowers, like kids in a candy store lol. They loved the bridge too. It has a nice paved walkway, easy for strollers or wheelchairs, beautiful flowers, a few benches and great shade. There were trash cans and I noticed at least one light. If you stay to the left of the path you'll walk right into Jackson Springs Park. Both are very kid friendly and hidden gems to explore if you have a little extra time. We'll be back when it is blooming more.

We came for an afternoon stroll around the park and it appears that the city maintenance truck has run over several bushes and broken some of the sidewalk. There were obvious tire tracks where somebody tried to get all the way into the back of the park. It didn’t look like vandals, more like somebody took a truck that was entirely too heavy into a place they should have walked. One beautiful large azalea bush was laying on its side right where the truck ran over it, but still in full bloom. We were very disappointed. Not recommended.

Each visit was wonderful. I am sad to here that you have retired. My mom Marilyn Thompkins told me this morning. You delivered both my sons and have seen me with all my visits. Where do I go from here. I don’t know anyone else. I was referred to you by my mom. How do I just choose someone else like that.

Every appointment that I have had so far I have had to wait at least 45 minutes just to get called back. The receptionists aren’t very pleasant. No smile when you walk in or anything and no actual care for your concerns. Appointments have had to be rescheduled a couple of times due to issues on the offices end. I’m honestly not very impressed but I’m trying to give this office a chance.

Unfortunately, a railroad was built right through this mound in the 1870s. Judging by the US Govt attitude towards natives at that time they probably did it on purpose. Who know how much history or archeology was lost here at the funeral mound

Macon Dog Park, affectionately known as Tyler's Place, is a delightful haven for dogs and their owners alike. With its inviting atmosphere, it's the perfect spot for your furry friend to run freely and splash around in the ankle-deep river that meanders through the park. While most visitors enjoy a pleasant experience mingling with fellow dog lovers, some have noted concerns about unsupervised pets potentially causing trouble.
Such a beautiful place to take your dogs. It was free of charge and there were multiple fenced in areas. The larger area has a stream of water for the dogs. It was very nice. My 9 year old was running all around with Max! There were places to sit and also an area to give dogs water or wash their paws off. There was also a smaller fenced in area that had multiple dog training equipment set up. The other dogs that were there were friendly and it was so fun to watch them as well. It was exciting to find such a nice place to bond with Max 💜

The people were super nice. The dogs equally as nice. But the park that could be so beautiful is in need of love. Weeds everywhere. Limbs. Broken benches. Please please help to keep this park going. We had so much fun. Witnessed an adoption

I love this park! This is a very spacious 3-piece fenced area that includes a small trickling river that runs thru the length of the largest fenced area, 2 bridges that cross that river, about 10 park benches positioned under big shade trees to rest on and a small covered gazebo as well. There's also a manual water pump for washing your pup off after play, or just filling the water bucket. There is another fenced section that has an obstacle course for "show dogs", and a 3rd fenced area that has 1 bench and 2 trees, specifically for animals that need to be secluded, I'm guessing. My dog loves it here and we've only been once!!

Great dog park! So much room for running & ball chasing. Nice creek for wading in with a couple of foot bridges for the humans to get across. The agility area was separated out into a creative, fun space. Quite a few picnic style tables around, as well as benches. Large parking area. Truely, it's a great dog park! 🐕

This is my absolute favorite place in Macon! The beer is always switching up so there are new things to try, the staff is so friendly, and the people who come are even friendlier. It’s nice to know that if an incident happens (they are dogs so it probably will) you have not only you, but also employees, who will step in and make sure everyone is safe. Great dog park with a lot of friendly dogs and owners. We took my brother’s golden doodle and she had a blast with with the running space, toys, water to splash in and so many dogs to match her energy. I learned that this place has a good number of events planned from music, dog painters/other vendors, discounted drink days, etc. Really excited to have something like this in town for my family’s dogs and will be checking their calendar to see what’s planned in the next couple of months. Side note: Make sure to check the website beforehand and have record of dogs vaccinations and whatever else they require.

Great folks, great beer, great place to let your dogs roam free. They had referees to make sure no dogs got into it with each other. They have the old Rotary Park and the dogs get in the fountain. Lots of tables and some shade if you need it. Really impressed with what they've done. It's privately owned so you have to show proof of current vax for your dog and they have to be neutered but that's a good thing. We will definitely be back!

We love this park! Just blocks from downtown Macon, we can walk from our apartment easily. The staff is so welcoming and know most of the dogs by name. The other dogs are well behaved and the owners are very engaged to ensure there are no issues between two dogs. Their beverage selection is on point, rotating drafts, seltzer, craft brews, and non-alcoholic beverages as well. Our dog also loves it, too! He mostly enjoys watching the other dogs run around but he will occasionally join a game of chase. Definitely at great way to spend our time decompressing after work instead of sitting in front of the TV streaming shows.
