Coyote Hills Regional Park, spanning over 900 acres of marsh and grasslands, offers a picturesque landscape with rolling hills and lush greenery. Located along the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay in Fremont, it provides stunning views of the bay area. Visitors can enjoy activities such as picnicking, bird-watching, biking, and hiking on the network of trails that traverse the low hills and wetlands.
Coyote Hills Regional Park in the East Bay offers a stunning landscape perfect for a short hike, picnic, or simply taking in breathtaking views of the Bay Area. The park provides a great opportunity to experience nature, with plenty of wildlife sightings—including turkeys, deer, and even the occasional coyote. The vista point is an ideal spot to watch a picturesque California sunset. Visitors will find ample parking, and the park features a visitor center and a nectar garden, open from Wednesday to Sunday between 10 AM and 4 PM. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful outdoor escape or a scenic adventure, Coyote Hills is a must-visit destination.

Such a beautiful and peaceful place! The views of the Bay and Dumbarton Bridge are absolutely stunning, especially around sunset. The trails are a mix of flat and a little hilly — perfect for all levels, whether you want a relaxed walk or a mini workout. I loved how clean and well-maintained everything was, including the restrooms and picnic spots. We spotted so many birds along the marsh trails — egrets, herons, even some pelicans! 🐦🪻 The Visitor Center is a hidden gem full of interesting history about the Ohlone people. It’s a great place to bring kids too educational and fun. Parking was $5 and easy on a weekday. Will definitely be back again!
SriBathraVardhini K — Google review
Very nice place to hike in the East Bay. Trails are well maintained and there are lots of intersecting paths. This allows hikers to easily customize the length of the hike. Views of the bay are really beautiful and there are plenty of great breezes, even on a hot day. One star off for the limited access to bathrooms and water refill stations, given the $5.00 entry fee.

Visited on August 30, 2025. The weather was amazing. I only walked .5 miles of the Bayview Trail off the first parking lot with a stroller, my wife and our 2 year old grandson, but it was very nicely graded, paved until it opens up to a view of the Bay and an easy walk or bike if you just want a nice place to exercise or take in views of the Bay Area. There are picnic areas and places to sit along the way if needed. I’ll be back with a bike to do a more comprehensive tour. The views from the hills and trails above are presumably spectacular. I was with family and we had other obligations, but it was perfect for a quick stroll before heading to dinner.

Wonderful time. We'll worth the stop. Beautiful views of bay and San Francisco skyline from afar. Perfect trails, dog friendly and a cool visitor center with exhibits. Plenty of restrooms and drinking fountains. An awesome butterfly garden. Great to hike with tons of options for trails. Five dollar parking for all day. Season regional park passes are available.
Gordon R — Google review
Came here with my sister and her kids ( 6yo and 15 months) and my dog. We did the Bayview-Nike trail loop. There were a couple easy uphill sections. The wildflowers were beautiful and other people on the trails were friendly. A couple people had their music playing loudly on the speakers which was annoying but not the fault of the park. The trails were well paved and able to handle a stroller. Looked like there were some more challenging trails that went up some steep hills. We had a great time and will be back!
Maro V — Google review
It's one of the best trails in Fremont. It's stroller friendly and has a lot of parking space. Tip: Either try to come early in the morning so you get a parking spot or later when the sun is shining. If you come at the perfect time it would be hard

My wife, our dog Rio, and I recently did a hike at Coyote Hills Park, and we absolutely loved it! The trails are well-maintained, the views are amazing, and the peaceful natural setting makes it a perfect getaway—just 10 minutes from Fremont. It’s a great spot for a casual walk or a more active hike, and it’s dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. Rio had a blast! We’ll definitely be coming back for more. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a scenic and refreshing outdoor experience close to the city

Park
Nature & Wildlife Areas
Mission Peak Regional Preserve, located near Fremont, California, is a vast mountain preserve that offers a range of outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, horseback riding, R/C flying and hang-gliding. The park features well-maintained trails that lead to the peak with abundant foot-traffic. While lacking shade along the trails, the panoramic views of the Bay and diverse wildlife make it worth the effort.
Challenging trail, rated hard. But good views at the top. We went there in the afternoon on a cloudy day, so got the sunset while coming down. Carry lots of water with you!
Racheal D — Google review
One of the best places to hike in the bay. It’s the most difficult as well compared to the other hikes nearby. The steep mountain trail especially in the last 1 mile challenges you a lot. But breaking a sweat is worth it as the views you get from this peak is the best. You will see the entire Bay Area from the peak and it worth every struggle. Ps- be prepared to struggle for parking. Since it has limited parking space people usually find it hard to park their cars. Fortunately there is Franklin st where people usually park and walk towards this trail. Also this place has no restrooms and water refill stations anywhere in the trail apart from the starting point.
Jagadeesh R — Google review
Challenging yet rewarding trail with some of the best panoramic views of the Bay Area! Trail is steep and rocky toward the peak, but well worth the effort once you get to the top. Trail is well marked, but mostly unshaded so bring a lot of water and use good sun protections (we hiked in the afternoon, during the summer). We parked at Ohlone college, which adds extra mile and charges $4 but the parking is way more manageable as the trail is popular. Total length close to 8 miles
Robert L — Google review
Gorgeous park!! Miles of hiking through varied terrain. Tons of wildlife to see. Beautiful views of the bay over the salt flats.
Nathan B — Google review
I have been visiting this mountain for so long in the last many many years and I really love it. The scenery is incredible and breathtaking; on certain days you can stand at the peak amidst the clouds and feel the cold breeze. There's nothing better than the refreshing feeling of making it to the top and not quitting the hike midway albeit the arduous journey and tiring path. All in all, I love Mission Peak and would deeply suggest everyone considering it to give it a try. The scenery and journey are incredibly worth it and should not be missed out on. :)
Jojo L — Google review
We went for a weekend hike. The day before it rained a bit a there causing a lot of mud. Around 1.5 miles of road was covered in dirt making the road slippery. However that did not deter the hike since it was expected. The last mile is particularly difficult since there is quite a lot of elevation gain. The complete hike was very scenic with a very pretty view of the whole bay area, a lot of green and a lot of cows! There are benches to rest every half a mile that also act as markers. Reaching the top definitely feels like an achievement. It is a difficult yet very satisfying hike.
Arnav M — Google review
We accidentally left our iPhone 16 on top of the trunk, and someone so kindly placed it on our windshield, right by the driver’s side. In a world where it’s easy to walk away, you chose kindness and honesty — and that means more than words can express. We were overwhelmed with gratitude when we saw it sitting there, safe. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It’s people like you who remind us that goodness still exists. Thank you — truly.
Tina N — Google review
A beautiful mountain that offers numerous hiking trails and wonderful sights all over. At the summit you can witness the view of Bay Area and rest of the hills around. The hikes are moderate to strenuous depending on which one you pick. Not much areas of shade so gets lots of sun screen, water and food. The spring is most magical time to get here and explore. The fall timing is great too. Would totally recommend to check this place out if you are in town.

Shinn Historical Park and Arboretum, located in Fremont, is a beloved historic park featuring the 19th-century Shinn House and scenic gardens. The Victorian farmhouse, known as the Shinn Big House, showcases Bavarian-style architecture and offers occasional group tours. Despite natural disasters like earthquakes, the house still stands for visitors to admire from the exterior. The 4.
Little, nice, quiet, quaint place! I saw a family having their photoshoot here. There’s also a Japanese garden at the side. Free parking and no entrance fee.

This is the most beautiful spring garden I’ve seen in the Bay Area. I was truly amazed by the variety of flowers and the thoughtful planning that went into it. We loved our visit, and we’re so glad we discovered this gem through Google reviews while we were in the Fremont area. There’s ample parking, and the garden features trees dating back to the 1800s. The entire area is clean, peaceful, and perfect for taking photos, soaking in the beauty, and enjoying a serene escape.
Shree S — Google review
Lovely little toddler park tucked under large trees providing quite a bit of shade. The perimeter along the street side of the park is fenced in. My toddler loved it 🌳
Samantha D — Google review
Underrated little garden! Fremont may be a small town without many attractions but this little garden taken care of by volunteers deserves a quick little visit! They even have a little Japanese garden inside as well.
Henry L — Google review
Visiting Shinn Historical Park in early August was quite boring; there was nothing to see. No flowers, just a quiet and small park.
Jessica C — Google review
We visited with a group here for a casual meet. What is loved about it is how quiet and peaceful it was, even though it is right off of a busy road! Lot of people kept coming on for photo shoots - we saw couples snd families. There were a couple that was painting too. There were quite a few dog walkers but they didnt bother anyone nor bark. The overall calm vibe was preserved for everyone visiting. The place has a couple of picnic benches, a small fountain which was closed and lots of shade. There is an old house, which is open to public on various days, according to one of the members of our group. She also said there is a barn at the back, but we didn't go to see it. There is a parking lot but it is smaller, may be 12-15 spots or so. Overall, it is a great place for quieter gatherings and definitely a popular photo shoot spot!
Pranali L — Google review
Lovely botanical & rose garden. Shinn house tours 1st Wednesday, 3rd Sunday by docents in period attire, unexpected history lesson!
Susana C — Google review
I love this little garden and come here every few days. My main interest is in the rose garden in the front. Fortunately, there are several types of roses, and they have a long blooming period of several weeks. Even when they stop blooming, it does not seem long before another blooming cycle begins. Beyond the rose garden is a large yard divided into natural sections. One area is a fenced in area with a variety of trees (such as Japanese Maple) and other shrubs set around little walking paths, and stone creek beds and a waterfall (no water) and seating areas. Another is simply an open lawn area to enjoy. And other little pockets of gardens are scattered around the property. The park is *mostly* accessible, depending on what mobility issues one might have. It's worth giving it a try, because I'm sure regardless of the kind of mobility issue you have, you will still be able to access certain areas easily. Plenty of parking is available and handicapped parking is there too. I'm pretty sure there are not any open public restrooms available because the ones they have always seem to be locked whenever I'm there. This is a peaceful place and used to have very few visitors, but I've noticed there seem to be more visitors in recent months. Is it because this review has attracted so much attention, or because COVID seems to be relatively long in the past and people are just done feeling cooped up, or something else? Regardless of more people coming, there always seems to be a little corner to sit down and be undisturbed.

Central Park, located in the heart of Fremont, is a stunning 450-acre urban park featuring the picturesque 80-acre Lake Elizabeth at its center and surrounded by the majestic Mission Peak Hills. The park offers an array of amenities including picnic sites, playgrounds, basketball and tennis courts, a skate park, and a 2-mile pedway around the lake. Dramatic scenery of the full moon rising over the Mission Peak as seen from the Central Park. The beautiful Mission Rolling Hills, Vargas Plateau Regional Park, Mission Peak, Mount Allison and Monument Peak are viewable. You can see wildlife in the beautiful lake, while taking the two-miles walking around Lake Elizabeth. Three playgrounds are very popular for kids and families. There are sports fields and group picnic areas too.

Very nice park. There are plenty of parking spots. Many restrooms. Beautiful view of Lake Elizabeth. Huge amount of wild goose. About 1.9 miles to circle around the lake. Most parts are exposed.
Zhong S — Google review
Huge Park with tons of parking and space for picnics or relaxing on the lawn. Even play structures for kids and bathrooms at multiple spots. The trail around the lake is pretty cool and offers some nice photo ops. There are a ton of geese and ducks... so you will see tons of droppings everywhere.
Roger A — Google review
Nice park with various facilities and play areas. Very good place to visit with family. Lots of facilities for recreation and parties. Well maintained and restrooms at multiple locations across the park. The view from here is wonderful.
Surya R — Google review
This was a delightful park for the kids. The Elizabeth lake was serene and full of ducks and swans. There was a nice path for walking or jogging and so was the well maintained play area for kids. Parking can be a challenge but being patient would help..
Shailesh N — Google review
Fremont’s Central Park never fails to surprise me! Every visit feels different. Today, I was lucky enough to see pelicans hunting for fish, mallard ducks relaxing by the shore, and even a huge rainbow stretching across the lake. Lake Elizabeth is about a 2-mile loop, making it a perfect spot for an easy walk while enjoying views of migratory birds and peaceful scenery.
Yoon L — Google review
Beautiful park with a walking trail around the lake, playgrounds, picnic areas, and occasional outdoor concerts. There's so much wildlife and scenery to observe while walking around.

Ardenwood Historic Farm offers a unique experience for both children and adults, providing an opportunity to immerse oneself in the workings of a 19th-century farm. The farm features a train ride through the Monarch Butterfly Grove, various animals to interact with, and holiday craft activities. Operated by the East Bay Regional Park District, this living-history farm showcases a Victorian mansion and costumed staff who guide visitors through the estate while demonstrating period-authentic chores and lifestyles.
This farm is actually quite big. There are some small animals(pig, chicken, rabbit, sheep, cow) and some flowers and plants. The tickets are very cheap. It is very suitable for children to come and see the animals and run around.

Great place to spend a day with the family. Check the daily event schedule and plan ahead or you may miss out on some activities. This is our second visit and we’ve missed the house tour both times. The first time we visited they said the last time to enter is 2:45. So today we arrived at 2:10 and the woman at the door said we missed the tour and would have to wait till 2:30 which meant we would miss the last train ride. 😫 Our favorite activity at the farm is feeding the animals. Today is a holiday and entry was free, which meant it was crowded. We knew the drill so our kids were at the front of the line waiting to get food to feed the animals. My kids were shoved out of the way by other kids that didn’t get in line and sadly adults were cutting in front of my kids as well. Some kid also hit my nephew with a stick but proud of him for standing up for himself and chased after the kid to apologize. He refused to apologize until his grandma made him. As we were walking out of the park, another child threw rocks at us and hit my nephew in the head. I don’t know what was happening with this day, but we will not come on a holiday again when it’s crowded

What a nice venue. We rode the train twice and toured the house. We picnicked for lunch then spent time talking to the blacksmith. All the staff we interacted were great, even a gardener.

It is fun to go here we spent like 4-5hrs strolling around. It was amazing how 1800’s life was preserved
Nars — Google review
What a beautiful place to bring children and your family. It was fun to interact with the goats and chickens. There was a cultural dance event happening on Mother’s Day. There are plenty of spaces to bring a frisbee or toss a ball. The staff is friendly and the environment is clean. You can get food and drinks from the cafeteria if you are hungry after walking the large property. There are plenty of seats if you need a place to rest or want to watch and enjoy the tranquil environment. we will be back for Halloween as we heard. There are many fun activities to do with kids throughout the year.
Daniel F — Google review
The farm has a large area. We were at the pumpkin patch in October. This is a separate entrance. There was a high pyramid of straw, carts with hay and pumpkins, great for photos. It was very interesting to visit the house, it was open from 1 am to 2:30 pm. Many different events: a puppet show, making a doll from dry corn leaves, picking corn, dancing, music, etc. And there are also Train Rides. There is a place to sit.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I visited Quarry Lakes Regional Park today with boarding dog, and it was such a wonderful experience! As a pet sitter, I’m always looking for clean, peaceful, and pet-friendly places—and this park checks all the boxes. The walking trails are wide and well maintained, perfect for dogs of all sizes. Today, we saw three deer, countless geese, and plenty of playful squirrels. There are beautiful flowers all around, and we even came across some wild raspberries and mock strawberries. Awesome park free parking! When you come down the wooden bridge thing if you turn right... beware its a 2 hour walk bur don't stress it loops and goes full circle my smart watch said it's like 7 miles. Just stay on the beaten path and there's no way to get lost also for being in one of the most populated areas in america I didn't see anything but birds not a person around for miles! Once you reach the old dredge your about a 1/3rd of the way done enjoy!

Great place to walk with a nice breeze. You can do long or short walks. Trails are in great condition and most are very easy.
Jeff A — Google review
Beautiful, accessible, uncrowded. Lots of sea and shore birds at the right times—cormorants, great egrets, snowy egrets, sandpipers, shovelers and other ducks (and many I don’t know). Lovely flowers at all times of the year, but especially in the spring. Good for a quick semi-challenging dog walk or a longer run if you want to go out into the bay on the dog-free paths.

Sunsets and serenity! One of my favorite places.

Gorgeous location for sunset photography and general viewing pleasure. Miles and miles of stunning panoramic views of the bay, baylands, mountains, and skyline (extraordinarily awesome and inspiring at sunset.) This is a very open area, with sea breezes, and moving waves. Here, human civilization is seems much less visible. It easily conjures up thoughts of what life was like 300 years ago and beyond, a time when human population was sparse.

Absolutely love this lovely and peaceful lake, in the middle of homes. Few people around - some of them fishing, running, walking around, chatting, cycling, etc. Will come back for the sunset view!

This is another good park to go to at Newark. Expect many geese to come by here since it’s believed that they live here. You’ll see many of them and maybe rare ones that you don’t see often. I really like the lake here because it looks nice. There weren’t many people here since I visit here around the morning on a weekday, but expect many people to come here after work and perhaps during the weekend. It can be easily compared to Lake Elizabeth since there are geese here but it’s smaller, which is why I decided to walk two laps. Many good places to take pictures of! Also, just be careful around geese poop on the trails.

This park offers a refreshing escape with its wide open spaces and serene lake views. The walking trails wind gently around the water, making it perfect for a leisurely stroll, morning jog, or simply enjoying the outdoors. Whether you're looking to fish in a calm, scenic spot or just unwind surrounded by nature, this park delivers a peaceful atmosphere without feeling crowded. The natural beauty and simplicity make it a great destination for solo visits or quiet family outings.

I like coming here it's never crowed. Great to relax and watch the ducks, have a good walk and even great for a nice jog. Only problem is the duck poop all over the place. So watch your step..lol

This is a nice place to take a stroll day or night. It's scenic from every angle and has many birds and geese and other fowl populating it. Plenty of free parking around the place and all walks of life can be scene poking along.

Sylvester P. Harvey Community Park is a neighborhood park with basketball and tennis courts, a playground, and open green space. The public restrooms are temporarily closed for maintenance but are expected to reopen soon. Recent improvements include new landscapes and a perimeter pathway, replacing old turf sod with a wide concrete path and turf grass. Some visitors suggest adding benches for more seating options.
Love the new landscapes and the very useful perimeter pathway! Finally, those old turf sod were removed and was replaced by a wide concrete meandering path and some turf grass. Kudos to the City of Fremont for this project. Suggestion: Maybe adding a few benches would be great.

Harvey Community Park’s got that low-key neighborhood feel I love. Nothing flashy—just wide open grass, a solid play area, and a good spot to reset. Right in the middle of Lakes & Birds, so you’ve got that peaceful, residential backdrop. Bonus points for having dog bags stocked and trash bins not overflowing (small wins!). Definitely part of what makes this area feel like home. #PaulEverHome @BayAreaWithPaul

Frank Fisher Park is a delightful community space that offers a variety of activities for families and pet owners alike. Nestled next to an elementary school, this expansive park features three distinct playgrounds catering to different age groups, ensuring fun for both younger and older children. The park also boasts tennis courts and a baseball field, making it perfect for sports enthusiasts. Visitors often enjoy the friendly atmosphere where dog owners gather in the evenings to let their furry friends romp around the grassy areas.
Has 3 large structures for different ages of kids. Both my elder & little daughter love this place.

a review from @amom2kidsandapark Two play grounds and a big grassy area! If you're looking to add an outside play to a fun filled day in Fremont, add this to the list! Its very close to Mod Kids Co and Ardenwood Farms. A community park right up next to an elementary. When I say right up next to I’m not exaggerating.... there isn’t a fence. Rare to see open campuses like this around here. I talked to locals and school staff about it & my kids even tried to play on the “on campus” playground until they were preyed on by the recess patrol like seagulls to a bag of Cheetos. They have it under control but definitely odd to see an open ELEMENTARY SCHOOL campus so close to a public park. The park itself had a huge grassy area w/a backstop in one corner, tennis courts & two play grounds. There were lots of dog walkers! All on leash near people or off leash deep into the grassy area. The larger of the two playgrounds has SIX slides (three spiral, two sidewinder, & one sideless slide ... maybe it’s kinda like those bottomless slides but just nothing to keep you in). You’ll also find steps, so many ladders, a climbing wall, monkey bars & rings, a puppet theatre window, steering wheels, bridges, & a spinning oval bar. In this play area there are standard swings only, a few spinning cups, & a rotating suspended circular bar. Down the sidewalk is a smaller playground modeled after a train!  It has three slides (one sidewinder, one straight, one double), ladders, steps, lily pads, tunnels, a bridge, & a gear activity. There are buckets swings at this playground. One feature I would have never paid any attention to without my kids doing it themselves was the different color circles on the rubber flooring. They enjoyed hopping from spot to spot. There are no bathrooms & street parking is abundant.

It’s a huge park right next to an elementary school. Around 4:30-6:30pm, there are many dog owners who let their pups play in the field. In the winter morning, you can see morning dew spread across the field as in the picture which is eerie but cool.

Rix Park, located in a serene neighborhood, is currently undergoing renovations and is expected to reopen by August 2023. The upgrades include the demolition of the old basketball court and the installation of two half-size courts, along with modifications to irrigation and turf. While it lacks amenities such as restrooms and picnic tables, it offers an open field for various activities like soccer and volleyball.
The park is neat and serene. I like the succulent floors made to protect little kids from injuries when they stumble or fall-off the swings. Another good thing about Rix Park is that they have dog parks around but away from the children’s park.

A green park with a basketball court and a few benches. We came here to eat our burgers from the nearby In n out and we were disappointed there were no picnic tables or restrooms or water fountains. Also oddly shaped with boundary of people’s backyard fences on three sides. We couldn’t see the playground mentioned in some reviews from the south edge that we entered on.

Good spot for kids to have fun. Play structures for kids are separate for young kids and older kids. Swings , slides , rock climbing etc. Picnic tables next to basketball court Lot of green area so for you can spread a picnic blanket anywhere. Library is right next to the park. Restrooms are next to the parking lot. There is area fenced off for sports classes

This is a nice local park to go to. I happen to not come here for a long time even though that it’s very close to where I live. The park has improved over the years since they added bleachers at the parking lot as well as renovating the playgrounds. It’s not really a big park but it’s convenient for those who live really close to it. They have a building called Irvington Community Center, which I think is a place for children’s activities. There is another building which is small. I think it was supposed to be a library, but is recently closed. Right next to it is the ballot drop box, where I usually go to drop my ballot envelope. Nothing much changed overall but it’s good to reminisce the memories I have going here when I was a kid.

This park may not be huge but crowded on weekdays because of soccer activities on the turf field. Many of residents can be seen jogging, walking or picnicking and even some yoga or other sports activities. Basket ball court is there close to the picnic area and you can see the kids around here. Almost every part of the park is being used. A lot of parking is available.

Vargas Plateau Regional Park is a stunning green space situated on a 1,000-foot-high plateau in the Fremont Hills, California. The park features open grasslands, deep ponds, and forested canyons that provide a habitat for diverse wildlife such as hawks, eagles, deer, bobcats, and snakes.
The drive on Vargas Road is windy and narrow. Limited parking, about 30 spaces. We went here Sunday (04/27/25) around 4:00pm. It was an overcast day, and we got lucky to find one parking spot. The walk to the plateau/rock formations is about 0.75 miles. The view from the top is beautiful. We hiked further down the trail and saw a coyote laying on the grass. Easy hike with awesome views.
Izzy H — Google review
Plenty of easy trails with minimal elevation for a brisk walk. Good views of the Bay Area and the bay. There are plenty of cows roaming around, make sure you don’t touch them or feed them as it illegal. Plenty of other wildlife, we saw coyotes and a bunch of ground squirrels. Nice green pastures especially during spring. Recommend to all! Parking is hard to find inside the park when it’s busy, try to get a spot on the road. There are plenty of cars parked roadside.
Vijay J — Google review
Start at the Morrison Canyon Road trail at the bottom of the hill then you can do a hike or bike around a 5.5 mile loop with about 1000 feet of elevation gain. The spring is the best time or a couple of days after the rain once the hills turn green is IMO the best time. There is limited parking at the top of the hill by the main park entrance so that limits the amount of people on the trail which is VERY nice. If you get to this 37°34'23.4"N 121°56'55.7"W you will see the whole of the Bay including Fremont central park and Quarry Lakes. Must hike.
Prat P — Google review
This place is fantastic! You can see the entire city during the trial walk, which I highly recommend. It was a pleasant, sunny day, and everything around was colorful. I saw people riding horses and many cows, and the fresh air was wonderful. Overall, I had a great experience that day and would definitely recommend this spot.
Vishruth R — Google review
First time to Vargas Plateau in September on a low cloud day. Parking is free and there is a single pit toilet available at the parking area. Fire roads and cattle roads mark the walking paths around the foothills. Good open space for getting out and going for a hike, just keep in mind sharing the roads with bikers. Not a lot of photo opportunities here, but the open space and relatively mild inclines are easy to maneuver.
Scott D — Google review
Speechless, this place is a fairytale. Extremely beautiful and peaceful, well preserved. Amazing for a walk, hills everywhere, green time in February. Ground squirrels everywhere and cows with they babies. My favorite hike 2025, there are ticks so be careful in the grass but anyway the phats are perfect. Pure delight to me. Take care of nature 🌸🌷🌺♥️
Abigail F — Google review
One of the best and easy hikes around Bay Area. Picturesque and blissful views. Cool to walk around the plateau and see different parts of the bay. It’s more beautiful during spring as the valley is covered with green grass.

hard to say. Maybe because of wrong season? Dust and yellow meadows everywhere. Honestly no scenery pots. And your shoes and pants will get quite dirty 🥲. Maybe should go there spring or summer? But we saw many cows, one small snake. It an easy trail, everybody can take it.

Lots of places with shade. All areas except playground were wheelchair accessible. The parking was difficult because of it being street parking and not enough room to have your ramp out or the pavement where ramp will land was not level. I would still go back!

Central Park Dog Park is a well-maintained facility offering separate areas for large and small dogs. The large dog park features artificial grass, an agility course, benches, and water fountains, while the small dog area provides grass, shelter, and benches. Visitors can also take a leisurely walk around Lake Elizabeth with their furry companions. However, some visitors have reported issues with poorly managed situations involving aggressive dogs.
My dogs love this park and personally I also have a incredible time every time we go to this park. The happiness of my dogs is one the most important thing, but having the opportunity to see so many beautiful dogs together is another treat. Very recommended and please bring your pups they deserve this. ❤️🐾
Kimberly S — Google review
Central Dog Park is a very large and well-maintained dog park that offers a lot for both dogs and their owners. One of the highlights is the agility parkour area, which adds an extra layer of fun and stimulation for active dogs who enjoy a bit of a challenge. The park is equipped with multiple water fountains, ensuring that dogs stay hydrated, especially on warmer days. There’s plenty of shade throughout the park, which makes it comfortable for both dogs and their humans, and ample seating is available for those who want to relax while their pups play. The atmosphere is usually friendly and laid-back, with most pet parents being responsible and engaged. Parking is another plus as there’s plenty of it, so you rarely have to worry about finding a spot, even though the park can get quite crowded during peak hours and weekends. Overall, Central Dog Park is a solid choice for off-leash fun, whether you have a high energy pup or one that just enjoys socializing and exploring. I’d definitely recommend it if you’re looking for a clean, safe, and enjoyable outing for your furry companions. It’s one of the best dog friendly spaces in the area.

This place is Harley’s absolute favorite spot! It’s spacious and clean, with separate areas for small and large dogs—perfect for her as a growing puppy. The artificial turf is soft on her paws, and the gravel area gives her more space to explore. She loves the dog play structures and especially enjoys running around freely and playing with the other dogs. Even though she’s still a puppy, she feels right at home here. The other dog owners are friendly, helpful, and always keep an eye on their pets. It’s a safe, fun, and social place we both love!

One of my favorite dog parks in the Bay Area. This location is clean, has a small obstacle course, shade for owners to stand, and especially responsible dog owners. Everyone was welcoming and paid attention to their dog. It did get pretty crowded around 5 which is to be expected. We went for a nice walk around Lake Elizabeth too. Aqua Adventure Water Park in Fremont, California is a popular destination for family fun during the summer months. The park offers a variety of activities to cater to different preferences, from adrenaline-pumping water slides to a lap pool for those seeking exercise. Situated in Central Park, the waterpark features open and enclosed slides that descend from 40 feet above the pools. It's an ideal spot for families looking to enjoy water-oriented recreation.
Great spot for little kids! The slides are very small — not suitable for adults or teens, but perfect for young children. Safe, cozy, and fun. If you’re looking for a water park designed specifically for little ones, this is the place.

What is a small Park which is great to let your kids run around and not lose them and they do not get overwhelmed with the size of the slides. Do not bring in other floaters for other pools. They will confiscate outside rafts or tubes

Here celebrating a birthday. Great place for your kids. They provide an assigned staff member to your hut to ensure needs are met throughout the party. Park doesn't allow adults to bring in their coffees or any beverages outside food. NOTHING. accept, water bottles and the birthday cake. Understandable. However, the parents that are PAYING and getting these parties together should be allowed to drink their already paid for coffee inside. Seems ridiculous in my opinion all the money we're spending to have our event hosted here and can't drink our coffee. There is a dress code for strictly swim clothes only in the water. However, adults were wearing inappropriate swimwear. Exposing themselves. Nothing was said or done about that. Overall the staff was exceptional and welcoming.
Victoria R — Google review
Small but has lazy river, some water slides, a regular pool, and "activity center" /sprinklers which are nice for toddlers. Maybe older kids would prefer Raging Waters or bigger water parks but this is nice for younger kids. Lots of lifeguards on duty. My toddler enjoyed the water park and also the swim lessons offered by the city of Fremont. You can bring a padlock to lock up your stuff (free) or you can pay to rent a locker that has locks built in. Didn't try the food stand, but seemed a little expensive and crowded.
Mingmei N — Google review
Really poorly trained staff. Was told I couldn’t bring our swimming vest in. That’s fine but asked if I could leave it at the front for a minute because my car was extremely far and I had 3 kids with me so couldn’t walk them all back. She said she’d leave it in the office with my name on it and shooed me along. But she never asked my name? And then when I came back for it, it was strewn on the floor like a discarded rag? But then upon entering the park discovered an inconsistent application of the rules. So many children were wearing their own vests including ones that were the same as ours - And then she decided to condescend me by saying mine is not a life saving decide and reading my vest language like I couldn’t speak English? Was that necessary. I never claimed it was life saving, my issue was the logic. Management really need to think about limiting ticket sales for safety and enjoyment. Insane number of people. Wow. Also the food is so gross and expensive, what an insane way to make money. I can’t believe they don’t let ppl bring their own food in as a kid centric location, even Disneyland lets you have some choice.

My family and I went here twice during the this summer, 2025 and it was an excellent experience! Clean, safe, and fun for the entire family. The Life Guards and staff are friendly and attentive which makes the atmosphere enjoyable. I highly recommend this place and living in Fremont makes it a huge plus.

Not suggested. The management has been successful in ruining the experience with made up rules and restrictions. Showers not working and changing rooms were pretty dirty (cleaned a decade ago?!) . No use of shampoo or soap in a few outdoor showers "because of the drought"! Like we do not have to shower again when we get home. Made up rule for minimum height 48", when Great America South Bay shores allows for much shorter. No tube from outside allowed (allowed but with made up rules again, so technically not allowed), you can only rent from inside and pay again, as if the ticket prices were not already too high for such a crowded and badly-managed place; and best of luck even finding one in the busy times. Respect yourself, your family, and your time and enjoy somewhere else.

a review from @amom2kidsandapark Charles F. Kennedy Park in Union City has something for everyone. This gigantic playground has so much to do! In the center is a small Golden Gate Bridge model with two slides coming down the middle. To one side is a big play area with 7(!!) slides (3 doubles), so many stairs and ladders, monkey bars, a rock wall, a couple of smaller bridges, and a fort with a western theme. On this side, there is also a herd of rocking horses (literally there are so many), a swing set (mostly standard with one bucket), a stand-on rolling balancer, and even more rocking toys that look like train cars. On the other side is a smaller playground with one slide, a couple of steps, a ladder, a snacking table, a rock wall, and a climbing ramp. This side also has a bucket swing and an all abilities swing (no straps). This park has elements of California history along with facts and information on different industries in the state. All the surf boards around the playground perimeter have something to read and learn from. Along with this awesome playground, this park has lots of sidewalks for walking, grass for picnicking or kicking ball, a cluster of picnic tables with bbqs, a basketball court (with net), horseshoe pits, and a covered amphitheater (covered slab of concrete). There were locked bathrooms and other onsite buildings including a teen center and preschool. BART tracks are right above the edge of the park near the playground and train tracks just across the road. If you GPS to this park, the parking lot may be closed. Another parking lot can be found where 13th St meets J St (and it’s actually closer to the playground.

It's huge, lots of space. Green area enormous. There were 4 different parties and still space for sure last four more. The architecture of the playground is not cheap and it's very well done.

Nice, clean park with plenty of space for kids to enjoy themselves and parents too! I can’t wait for the weather to get a little warmer so we can be here daily! Lots of free parking and very convenient to BART/Food/Bus/Grocery Stores. If you haven’t been here yet, you’re missing out!

Love this park! It is normally well kept, and we like its size. Today, the big bridge feature is in a state of minor disrepair, but has been safely closed up where it needs to be barricaded (the missing fifth star). There are a variety of play areas, for all ages, plenty of seating and shade, and picnic areas. There is also a public restroom here. Overall, a fun and good park to bring the kids out for a play date.

Lake Elizabeth is a hidden gem in Fremont, boasting a scenic 2-mile loop around the lake. The area is well-equipped with plenty of picnic tables and kids' play structures. With a backdrop of Mission Peak, Aqua Adventure Waterpark, and a skate park, there's something for everyone. However, it can get chilly in the evening, and be cautious as we did spot a snake along the way.

This Central Park is the most beautiful and peaceful place. One of my favorite place for morning walks. Beautiful ducks around. Positive vibes from the place. Beautiful Elizabeth lake and beautiful views. Very peaceful views around. Many playgrounds around for kids to enjoy and explore with.

Good walking trail, has a long loop, with multiple play areas for kids, picnic. There is season boating, though never tried it. Can spend about 2-3 hours walking around the loop, with cinematic photo opportunities. The birds (geese) usually make the park dirty with droppingz, so be careful with small kids walking.
Shenoy C — Google review
The lake was much cleaner when I arrived. The staff were able to clean out duck poop from the trail of this park. It is a cold day today and there weren’t a lot of people today since it’s not the weekend yet. Thankfully, it’s relaxing for me to walk that way since parking is easier and less crowded at that time.

This vibrant park features two distinct playgrounds tailored to different age groups—one designed for little ones aged five and under, while the other caters to kids up to twelve years old. The playgrounds are brimming with fun elements like swings, slides, and imaginative rock structures that invite endless adventures.
This is a park I grew up by and it's still just as much fun now that I have my own children to take them here as they have a great playground w/ swings, slides and even hiding spots built into rocks. Great for hide & seek. For the adults there are basketball hoops, a wall to practice tennis, volleyball, ect. There are a set of tennis courts as well. Lots of grass to play soccer or to just have and have a picnic. If you're lucky you just may get invited to one of the big fiestas. Ppl are very friendly.

Nestled in the sun-kissed landscape of California, The Asher offers a unique blend of classic elegance and modern sophistication, making it an ideal home base for those seeking vibrant urban living. This exceptional apartment community stands out with its refreshing approach to residential life, ensuring that every detail is thoughtfully curated for comfort and style. Residents rave about the outstanding service provided by the dedicated staff who consistently prioritize their needs.
Living at The Asher has been an incredible experience thanks to the amazing staff. They go above and beyond, always putting residents first—even in the most unexpected hours or circumstances. Whether it’s helping with packages, working out housing rates, or making sure maintenance needs are handled quickly, their dedication shines through at every corner. Romeo and Mursal in particular deserve special recognition. Their extraordinary customer service skills make them an absolute joy to work with. They are patient, proactive, and genuinely care about making life here as seamless and enjoyable as possible. The level of commitment and selflessness from the entire team at The Asher truly sets this community apart. I couldn’t be happier with the experience and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a place where staff treat residents like family.

This place is not worth moving in. Cars are broken into monthly in the garage with the garage doors always wide open because they never work inviting people in to break into cars. The bike storage rooms are bare with cut locks all over the floor because all bikes were stolen and every week the storage rooms get broken into. This apartment allows people to come in and break into the storage lockers and all management will say is they are not liable for stolen items. They will not do anything to stop people from breaking into this building and stealing from its residents. Then they have the nerve to raise the storage locker monthly fee from $25 to $40 a month when everyone’s stuff is broken into? This place is a joke.

Romeo was truly the best home tour guide Asher has ever had. He went above and beyond to make the experience smooth, welcoming, and enjoyable. Not only did he guide us with patience and a friendly attitude, but he also ensured we got the best room that matched exactly what we were looking for. His professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail made the entire process effortless. Romeo’s dedication and genuine care made us feel completely at home from the very beginning.

Amenities and rooms as well as maintenance are top notch. Great place to live if the security is up to the pace. November 2024, my GF’s motorbike (Ninja 500) was stolen. Leasing office said the security cameras were broken at the time so police had no evidence at all. April 2025, my car’s window was smashed for just a phone power bank. Paid myself out of pocket for glass repair. June 2025, my motorbike was attempted stolen but thief failed to break my handle bar lock and still broke the lock partially. The brake lock was completely broken. Lost multiple packages during 2024 Christmas time and told to ship packages in amazon pickup points instead of where I live. Sure, I’ll pick up my packages from factories right after they were built around the world from now on then. Talked to neighbors, multiple motorcycle stolen cases happened in this apartment garage. Leasing was just always sorry and no reimbursement for repairs provided. Too easy to sneak into the apartment complex and thieves can just take whatever they want. THIS IS NOT A SAFE PLACE TO LIVE. If you have nice cars, motorcycles, DO NOT choose here unless you love the drama. Overall, overpriced place to live.

Romeo is absolutely the best! From the very first day, he went above and beyond to show me so many options and made sure I was truly happy with my choice. What impressed me most was his patience through every tour and how professional, kind, and attentive he was—his customer service is truly unmatched. I’ve now been living at The Asher for almost a month, and I can honestly say I love it more every single day. It’s not just a gorgeous residence with fantastic amenities—it feels like home. The community here is so warm and welcoming, and that makes all the difference. The staff are incredibly friendly and always willing to help, which really adds to the feeling of being cared for. The maintenance team is also amazing—they’re courteous, reliable, and always on time whenever you need assistance. I feel so grateful to have found The Asher. It’s a place where you feel valued, supported, and truly part of a community. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! Thanks Lilliam S.

I don’t usually leave reviews but after the experience I just had, I felt inclined to. I moved into the Asher yesterday and noticed a small mark on the carpet in my bedroom. I notified the leasing office and the maintenance team arrived an hour or so later to take a look. Rafi, Obaid and Morgan were incredible. They got rid of the mark the next day. Then came by a couple hours later to check in with me. I’ve never experienced this kind of attentiveness and I’m thankful for it. Thanks so much!

I have been looking for an apartment for the past 3 weeks in Fremont and most places have left me underwhelmed. Coming from a building with quality amenities it’s been hard to find a place that I feel comfortable spending luxury apartment prices. The Asher by far checks off all the boxes. The leasing agent Romeo gave my fiance and I an exceptional tour. Every resident we saw he knew their name. That’s impressive given this property has 600+ units. The Asher feels like a small living community rather than a building. Romeo asked about our living needs and then showed us accommodating apartments. No unnecessary showings. Which made the experience feel unique.

My 6 years old loves to come to this park because of the money bars. She can spend hours on this playground. The park also offers another playground for younger kids (which my 2 years old also enjoys very much). Besides the playgrounds, there is also a basketball court at the park (very popular and often has a lot of people). The only downside is that it’s always hard to get the kids to leave the park 🤭

Overall it's a nice place to spend relaxing time with friends and family.

This is a great neighbourhood park! Accessibility and planning within the play areas could be improved. There’s two play areas, one for younger toddlers on the lower part of the hill and a more extensive one for older kids. However, currently there’s only a staircase connecting them directly. You can see where the hillside is extensively warn from people pushing strollers up along the grass/ dirt, but it’s quite a steep slope. If you have a wheelchair or stroller and want to go to the upper area safely, you need to leave the smaller kids area, walk past the washroom facilities, the basketball court (awesome they have this too) and go the long way to the hill. There’s also a good amount of parking and a picnic area at the top of the big hill with shade. Great park but can definitely use improvements from an accessibility point so it can be bettered enjoyed by all.

My parents live right around the corner from here so I have fond memories of it from growing up. I still remember the year they were constructing the sand pits for excercise. They would be teaming with tadpoles in the spring, but as summer neared and the water would recede, you could literally scoop up cupfulls of tadpoles at a time. That year, my brother and I became witnesses to tadpole cannibalism; but we also raised some to full maturity, and we even held a funeral for one in our front yard: Egyptian style--the ritual of which would have pleased even Tutankhamun. What I like most about this park are the pull up and dip bar stations (perfect pitstop for your neighborhood runs), and how amazing the north slope along Paseo Padre looks in the spring time; the whole slope explodes in a flurry of yellow from the custard plants. I really love that the park serves the community so well too. Whenever I'm here, I'll see families and people at all stages of life, going for walks or playing with their dogs, playing basketball or just picnicking. I've seen some more questionable things here late at night too. Like the one time some kids starting doing donuts with their cars in the basketball court, and when the cops were called in, they tried driving OVER the hill on the Paseo Padre side and got their car stuck! Just insane. Good and questionable though, I love this park all the same.

Fremont Skatepark is an attractive location near Lake Elizabeth that offers opportunities for walking, jogging, and picnicking. Although it may be currently undergoing construction for a water park, this does not diminish its popularity among visitors. In fact, the majority of the crowd tends to gather on the opposite side of the lake, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a more tranquil setting to enjoy music while engaging in physical activities like jogging.

This is a beautiful place for walking, jogging and picnicking around lake Elizabeth. It’s not too busy these days and less maintained as a lot of construction for the water park is going on. We love going to this park since it is clean and has a lot of activity areas for kids. California Nursery Historical Park, spanning 20 acres, was once a prominent nursery managed by the California Nursery Company. Founded by Jose de Jesus Vallejo, the administrator of Mission San Jose, the park features the historic Vallejo Adobe. Visitors can explore hiking trails and lush grassy areas ideal for leisurely picnics. The park boasts a captivating rose garden showcasing an extensive variety of colors, petal layers, and sizes.
Interesting historical park. I learned more about the boxed tree forest, bioretention area and saw also pictures of the former workers and their families of this place. One can only imagine how successful this company was in the old days. There’s a lot of parking spaces and no fees at all! There were few photoshoots happening at the rose garden and windmill area last Saturday afternoon I was there but didn’t look crowded. I saw a lady walking her dog and some couples just chilling around. Nice place to relax ❤️

Beautiful park to walk or run. I visit often when in the area. Lots of history and variety of plants to look at. There is parking and restrooms. There is an area under construction that I look forward to seeing open soon.
Jennifer N — Google review
This is one of my favorite parks to go to. My main reason for going is the rose garden. I have a hobby of taking pictures, and I find that roses offer so much variety as a subject. Their roses are very extensive in types of colors, numbers of layers in petals, and even size. Next to the rose garden is a cacti and succulent garden, and many are planted in the stumps and logs from trees that have gone their way. It makes a very interesting and lovely natural garden area. On that same side of the park, there are a couple more lovely areas in which to stroll. This entire side of the park is not very handicapped friendly, however. The rose garden paths are fine people's which make it difficult to impossible to push a walker or wheelchair through. The cacti garden is better, though, because the earth is more packed. The lawn might be difficult too, but since I have never traveled across the lawn, I cannot be sure. The other side of the park, which has recently been renovated and updated, is highly accessible with plenty of parking and very level and wide sidewalks. The pathways wind around that side of the park, giving different views of different kinds of plantings that have been done - mostly with trees. It is well shaded and has a lot of benches spread throughout the area. There is also a new, centrally located restroom, and it's always open for use. There are a few historical buildings on this side of the park too, but unfortunately they are in terrible condition. They are very damaged, and some are even falling down, from years of neglect and lack of use. These are all fenced off to protect people from getting hurt. I'm guessing that since the buildings have been labeled with signs and have been fenced in, that there there is some hope of restoring them before they become a total loss. I would really love to see this happen. Renovations are not complete because there's limited funding, so if there is a way to donate to this park, I would encourage you to do so. Even if the buildings never get renovated, the park itself is well worth a few dollars. It is large and has lots of areas to maintain, so I'm sure they can alway use the funds for general upkeep. This park makes for great outings for people of all ages, whether as an individual just wanting to get out into nature or as a family wanting to spend time together. There's a little something there for everyone. (However, if your children are looking for a playground, there is not one available here.)

The historic park is under renovation, it does have nice cemented walking trails, clean bathrooms and well groomed areas. A few picnic tables are available. Plenty parking.

What an amazing gem. Beautiful open space with plenty of walking trails. We had visited during the weekend and there were only a few other people there which was surprising. A great location for a picnic or just walking in a beautiful, quiet area. We happen to be there when someone was visiting the garden boxes that are available for people to rent. It was nice to see what other people choose to grow and their progress. Plenty of water fountains throughout.

The open hours of California Nursery Historical Park are from Sunrise to Sunset (today: 5:48 am-8:33 pm) daily. It is a hidden gem in the San Francisco Bay area. It has lots of parking spaces, clean public restrooms, nice gardens, fruit tree orchard, beautiful boxed tree forest, walking trails, and picnic area for family and friends.

Great for photo shoot specially during Spring. Lots of parking, also has restrooms. It will be nicer to have a play structure for kids.

Niles Rose Garden is an old Mission and has a lot of history! It's nestled in the back of town where you would not expect to see a park. There are large redwoods and shady trails, picnic tables and pretty flowers to look out. There are placards that tell the history of niles and it's pretty neat to read about! It was quiet and quite peaceful! I felt like I was in a different place!

My local park and it's well maintained and well kept. We enjoy taking our very active Frisbee loving Border Collie to get out his energy and to admire his Frisbee catching powers. It has a nice place area for the kids and benches for the adults to take full advantage of. A nice walking loop and easy access to Lake Elizabeth through the Golf club (Look out for Golf balls as you will be cross multiple fairways).

Dusterberry Neighborhood Park is a charming retreat that beautifully blends open green spaces with engaging recreational options, making it an ideal destination for families and individuals alike. The park's thoughtful design encourages a range of activities, from picnicking to casual strolls and even spontaneous sports games. While it may lack dedicated parking and restrooms, these minor inconveniences are easily overshadowed by the park's inviting atmosphere.
Clean, well structured modern design and so many things to do in this park, parking is a bit of an issue but otherwise this has been the best park in this area. The lush greenery, well-maintained walking paths, and variety of recreational activities make it a popular spot for families and individuals alike. Whether you're looking to have a picnic, take a leisurely stroll, this park has something for everyone. The park also boasts a playground for kids, making it a great destination for families with young children. Overall, this park is a gem in the city and a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors.

This park has been my kids favorite... They love the play area.. it has swings. Slides and climbing structures.. its really enjoyable for kids above 5 years . It also has a separate play area for kids below 5 years... In addition there is a section with exercise structures for adults.. parking can be a little challenging... Overall very nice park for a quick stroll while kids enjoy the playground

1. Great playground for kids. Many new additions that you don't filing in other parks. 2. Street parking there 3. Normally mot so busy so its easy for kids to get good opportunity to play.

Dusterberry park in Fremont is a big beautiful playground and with a variety of structures. It caters to all ages and one of the few parks that is so well planned in terms of seating area, open grassland, basketball court, picnic tables, walking and cycling pathways alongside playground. Good capacity for 50+ kids at once.
Ruchita A — Google review
This welcoming neighborhood park is a delightful haven that offers an array of activities for the entire family. It caters to the energetic youth with its plentiful kid-friendly options, such as engaging playground equipment including slides and swings. Adults are not forgotten, with an exercise area and a well-maintained basketball court readily available. Every visit leaves my daughter brimming with joy, making it a cherished spot for us. While the park does not house restroom facilities, its neighborhood location makes this a minor concern. Overall, this park beautifully blends fun, fitness, and community spirit.
Navdeep V — Google review
Dusterberry Park's layout is artfully conceived, featuring ample open, green areas that accommodate a variety of activities, from picnics to leisurely walks to impromptu sports matches. While the lack of a dedicated parking lot and on-site restrooms can be a bit inconvenient, these minor issues don't detract from the park's overall appeal. I enjoyed a delightful afternoon there, armed with a bagel sandwich and sweet tea, while searching for a shaded haven amidst the park's verdant landscape.

Well maintained and clean park. Not very crowded. Picnic area and restroom is available and nearby. Play area is very nice with swings and slides. Park is open from 8 am till 30 mins before sunset. Outdoor play area is big. This park also has a basketball court. My kid loved the small cars which are attached to springs. Overall a great experience.

Park could use some tlc. Big pot holes in the ground which is a safety concern for the little kids. Play structure isn’t that big to play on, especially if a family is using the bbq area, not a lot of parking. Stop light doesn’t work. My least favorite park in union city/Hayward

It's a nice park with a play area for the little children. The trees are a little more mature and provide some shade. There are at least three BBQ grills there with cement tables and benches near the grills. There are no restrooms there so you will have to go to the gas station store.

It is ok ok park. Very small Park. Kids can play for 1-2 hours here. Nothing much do it here. There is warmspring park near which is quite big and lots of playing options for kids. I would recommend this if you have only 30 minutes to 1 hour and do not want to go to warmspring park :) then only visit here. Also good map doesn't show correct location for booster park. Its a fun park my almost 6 year old daughter loves it but she has autism and can't swing on the big kid swings cause she doesn't hold on all the time & falls off and has got hurt and she is to big for the baby swings which she gets stuck in. Campground
Nestled within the scenic Coyote Hills, Dumbarton Quarry Campground on the Bay stands out as a premier full-service camping destination. With 63 well-equipped campsites, this campground offers a delightful blend of convenience and nature. Visitors can enjoy amenities such as a camp store, an amphitheater for evening entertainment, playgrounds for kids, and picnic areas perfect for family gatherings.
Had the bug to roll out the fifth wheel over holiday break but didn’t want to travel too far. Was able to reserve a full hookup site with less than a week advance notice. That was the first huge plus and nearly unheard of in California over a weekend! First time visiting and staying in the campground. Everything is new, well maintained, and in excellent condition. Bathrooms spotless. Staff very friendly and helpful. Amenities include laundry facilities, firewood available, playground, plenty of open space, and access to miles of trails. Overall the campground is surprisingly quiet for being close to several high traffic roadways. The main gripe was being in flight path of SFO and OAK airports. Planes were pretty high up and not obnoxiously loud but you could hear them. There is plenty of scenic hiking with views of the Bay and many species of birds to watch. Could clearly see both SF and Oakland skylines from Bay View Trail. Easy back in layout of all sites. We enjoyed our 3 night stay and will be back. The biggest mystery to us was why there were so many empty sites in the campground, even if it was December. The RV community has a gem here in the Bay Area. Spread the word! Well done City of Fremont and East Bay Regional Parks!
Paul H — Google review
I really have nothing to complain about the park so I will give it 5 stars. Sites were level, new and plenty long enough for our 26 foot Winnebago trailer. Quiet at night. Safeway grocery close by. Campground had a washer and dryer as well. We were at site 60 which is farthest from the washers. Plenty of trails to walk dogs. We did have some mosquitos at night.
Hugh J — Google review
So... let me preface with the fact that we are here mid Summer. So... that may be why there was just dead weeds and overgrown foliage everywhere. Noticed park employees were diligent about picking up trash, but the individual spaces definitely need a green thumb. Per the other reviews, yes there is a firing range. Yes you can hear it. No it's not terrible. Tuned it our pretty fast. Level spots, easy in and out. Saw wild Turkeys and Rabbits. The 10 pm curfew is the reason this place gets 3 stars from me. Went to the ball game (BART Station is super close) but by the time the game was over and we were headed back it was closed to get back in. We were lucky that the Police was making it's rounds and was able to allow us back in. If they clean up the spaces easily would bump this up to 4 stars. Would be a toss up on a return visit.
Brent S — Google review
This is an amazing campground. In terms of location, it is hard to beat. You're about an hour from San Francisco, and thirty minutes from San Jose. If you need to get groceries, you're about ten minutes from the store. The campground itself is stellar. Spots are spacious. The fire ring is nice. Because you're right on the bay it does get heinously windy but otherwise you're good. The bathrooms are clean. There is a rule that you can't drive into the park past 10 AM, but ride-sharing and then walking is okay. There are miles and miles of hiking trails that extend from the end of the park. On top of that, there is a rafter of turkeys that wanders through the park. There are also a million blackbirds, bluebirds and finches that call the park home. The price is reasonable, especially given the exorbitant prices of everything else out here. All in all, I would recommend it and return.
Sam N — Google review
I remember the first time my friends and I decided on a camping trip to Dumbarton Quarry Campground. I didn’t think this was a good campground until we tried the camping here. We loved the campground now. The Dumbarton Quarry Campground doesn’t have lots of trees. But the weather is always nice in the Bay Area. We don’t need the trees. All the campsites are full hood up and the campground is very close to the city with supermarket, shopping, and restaurants. We loved it so much because it is convenient!
Michael W — Google review
Well taken care of campground close to the city. The campground was immaculate when it comes to cleanliness, landscaping and safety. It’s also a good price for California. I would definitely stay again. My only negative is that the gate closes at 10pm and you have to park on the street if you can’t make it back by that time.
Luke W — Google review
1st this is one of the only RV camping areas in the whole Bay Area. 10 stars for location. It is clean with lots RV spots. It is in a nature preserve so there are some extra volunteer plants - weeds. I enjoyed watching birds perched on the plants eating the seeds. I grew up around here but moved to Oregon 28 years ago. We are down for a few days to pick up our son from a camp. We figured we would just use this a home base and go to SF for fun. We never left for 2 days just hiked around. Once we got here WOW we were amazed at the beautiful location. We love to day hike. There are lots 13 of miles of trails. Some are easy trail and some a bit harder hill climbing trails with amazing views. Bike, horse back riding, and hiking. The camp ground is attached to the Coyote Hill, East Bay water front, and nature wet land reserve. Note don’t let the map fool you It is not actually that close to the bridge so no worries there. Today we hiked out the “No Name trail” 2 miles out into the Bay. Really where else can you do that. We will come back for sure.
Kim B — Google review
Spacious camp sites with picnic tables and fire pits. Large grass areas. Nice playground for children. Nice bathroom/shower facilities and small laundry. Sounds like paradise, right? The problem with this park is the weed control. The whole place is quickly becoming a giant weed pit. Fox tails and burrs are why I did not rate this park as dog friendly.

Union City Skatepark is a vibrant hub for skaters of all levels, nestled within a larger park that boasts tennis courts, basketball facilities, and baseball fields. Families can enjoy two playgrounds equipped with modern features like a large seesaw and climbing structures, along with picnic areas perfect for BBQs. While the skatepark offers an array of elements including P-Rails and A-frames that cater to more experienced skaters, beginners might find some challenges due to the steep transitions.
Very peaceful compared to the other parks in the East bay area. Even though the parks a bit old, It’s still a good space to learn new tricks for beginners as well as seasoned skateboarders.
Ryan L — Google review
The park overall is ok. Its in a safe location and there's usually skaters there. The transitions don't have the best curves to them and the half pipe section isn't all the fun to skate as there's this sudden vert to it. The P-Rails and smaller boxes are the best attractions here skate. The A frame in the middle is pretty good though one side has more kick than the other. The quarter up to the rail on the A Frame is steep too. Good park for a chill sesh.

The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park, located in the Santa Cruz Mountains, offers a serene retreat with its imposing coastal mountains and majestic redwood forests. Spanning nearly 10,000 acres from sea level to heights over 2,600 feet, it features over 30 miles of trails for hiking, jogging, and biking.
Beautiful scenery and very easy hikes from the entrance station to the picnic area. Very gentle inclines for the most part. The trails branch off and reconverrge in some places making it easy to revisit and get a new experience. The creek is absolutely beautiful.
Anthony S — Google review
This is a beautiful, lush coastal redwood forest with lots of trails, though I've only explored the southern area so far. It's just outside Aptos, south of Santa Cruz. Trails are well maintained, and there's little poison oak in the areas I've been to. The creek is the highlight for me - mossy, fern-dotted cliffs, still water, jumping fish. It's relatively easily accessible from the parking area near the entrance, though there are some steps to descend and a bit of a slope. If you read about the Advocate Tree, please note that it's now fallen, but you can still visit it. It lived for over 1,000 years! Past the creek, the trails get steeper and narrower. Everything was green and beautiful in late June and was a joy to explore. The southern area lends itself well to wandering (with a map of course). As always, bring sunscreen and a hat (though the trails are largely shady), plus water and snacks. Parking was a little tough, but that's not unexpected for hiking on a Saturday in June. I was fortunate though and only had to wait a few minutes before a spot opened up. Entrance fee is $8 at the time I'm writing this. I had a wonderful time here and highly recommend the park.

Did an evening hike - Terrace Trail to Aptos Ranch Trail - took 1.5 hours - 3.6 miles. Loved it. Parking is a little funny. There was no attendant so we had to put $8 cash in an envelope and write on the envelope that we dropped it and put the matching ticket on our dash. I’ve traveled to many other states and countries and have never experienced this. Left $10 as i had no change. Just a heads up for future visitors.

Very nice smaller Redwood forest state park. Ample parking, well marked trails and of course great redwoods. The area is rebounding from massive cutting of olde grove trees a hundred years ago. The new groves are healthy and thriving. Witnessed volunteer workers clearly previously introduced invasive “vines”. Beautiful local retreat away from the daily hustle and bustle. Kind of nice that there is virtually no cell coverage..just unplug for a spell and enjoy natural grandeur with fresh and clear air. Highly recommended.

Best doggy park. There is a small entrance with an agility course that has a gate that leads into a bigger dog park for big dogs. Inside the big dog side of the park is another agility course. The park is clean and has a paved walk way all the way around, garbage cans, dog fountain, and benches. Then there is a separate small dog doggy park with the same amenities.

I mean the park looked like it could be a good one but the only other people who came by(3 in total) brought there dogs there because it was ‘typically empty’ and they didn’t have to worry about their dog aggressive dogs running into another dog. No parking but on a blind curve with a hogging speed limit. Plus I’ve never seen a dog park with a longer rules plaque. Over twenty if memory serves.

9/2021: Open 6 a.m.-10 p.m. It is mostly clean. It has a canopy over concrete area for dogs or people to get out of the sun/rain. There are about 6 concrete benches in/out of the shade. The Water fountain has not worked since 2020. It has a small dog area that has a nice little obstacle course. The Big dog area also has an obstacle course. The big area has about 5% grass, the rest is dirt. It has a nice large area for the dogs to run. Not a good place to go on wet days unless you don't mind the mud. I stopped by today to see if improvements occurred from a year ago like turning the water on so dogs can drink and grass can grow, but no change which is unfortunate. Remember to bring your own bowl and water!

This place used to be a great location. Where the community could get together and watch the pet children play. Unfortunately all the money that was spent to establish it and maintain it has gone to waste. The aggressive dog section is completely unkept and overgrown. The hours read 6am to 10 pm Tuesday to Sun but it's been shut down with no signs or reasons. We went on a Sunday at 930 am and it remained locked. There is a disclosure about rain however the parameters were not to remain closed today.
Charlotte V — Google review
There are a couple of foxtails right now but nothing too crazy. It says it's open til 10pm however the lights don't go on making it way too dark to see anything if you go at night. I've only been here twice so far, once around 8-9pm on sat and then around 7-8pm on a Sunday and had the park to ourselves. Lots of agility equipment although some of the round tubes look broken however still functional. I was happy to see that there was barely any dog poop around which is a rarity these days. Also, the water fountains don't seem to have much pressure in them so one star removed for that and the lack of lights at night. Otherwise, a great dog park!

1. NO WATER, A LOT OF DUST According to the photos it used to be nice and green 4 years ago. Then they've decided that water is the biggest enemy. Now there is no drinking water available (bring your water and bowls!!!) and it is very dusty. Dust is a worst kind of the dust and became very sticky when mixed with dogs saliva. Meaning your fetching ball becomes SUPER dirty and your dog eats A LOT of soil. 2. Unneutered male dogs. Also there are a lot of unneutered dogs (more than I've met in other parks). I know that it can be a problem for some people and their dogs so I think it worth mentioning. 3. Separate areas for small and big dogs 4. Has some agility equipment 5. Has benches and shade

Large space with pretty friendly dog owners. Beware of the small dog owners who bring their 5-lb dogs into the big dog park then get upset when big dogs wanna play. So long story short, no different than any other dog park. They do close every Monday for maintenance, but the water station for dogs has been broken for 2 months so not quite sure what maintenance is being done.
Andy M — Google review
Nice large grass area with walking path and agility. Large and small (< 30lbs) areas as well as an additional smaller axillary grass area.

39Mission San José Community Park

Park
Mission San José Community Park is an expansive open space that offers various amenities for recreation and leisure. It features several tennis courts, a ball field, and basketball courts where individuals can enjoy engaging in sports activities. Additionally, the park provides a playground and picnic areas, making it an ideal location for families and friends to gather and have a great time together. Within the park, there is also a restroom facility available; however, it may not have proper lighting or cleanliness could not be determined.
Nice area for family and friends. Have one basketball court, maybe 6 tennis courts, baseball area, a sand track and field, a soccer field, and playground for kids. There is a restroom but seems no lights or I just couldn’t find the switch to turn it on, can’t tell if it’s clean or not.

Behind the mission high school, It may not be the a very good park in comparison to other beautiful parks in Fremont but is used as a place for Jogging or walking or running. It doesn’t have much grass but have a lot of dust. It has a nice loop to practice or increase your speed with a timer. Has a play structure too however the overall place doesn’t look very lively so won’t recommend for families given that there is very beautiful park (Central park) close by. Has a tennis court and parking area. It is not for other recreational activities.
Dharmendra T — Google review
Ample parking in the school parking lots or on the opposite side. Scary smelly bathrooms are open 7a to 7p. Bball, baseball, tennis, track, and tennis courts with high usage on the weekends. Water facets and playground too. Nice place for a bday party. Table and bbq pits.
MK C — Google review
Great neighborhood park with small playground, tennis courts, basketball court & picnic tables.🙂
Vandana R — Google review
Located off Mission Boulevard in between Mission San Jose High School and Hopkins Junior high. Plenty of basketball courts, none are level or regulation 10 feet, rims range from 9'6" to 10'2" depending the slope. Nice walking or running fields when not wet. Plenty of space for baseball, softball, soccer, or field sports. Can fly a kite, drone, radio controlled toys, rockets. Nice tennis courts between schools, lighted at night till 9pm. Has a small playground for kids. There is a trail located behind the baseball field for walking, jogging, cycling, take your pet on a stroll. Trail connects to Central Park. Nice park if you want an option besides Fremont's massive Central Park. Has public restrooms.

There is a track that the Hugh school use during the school time. After that, it's a good place to walk or bike. Tennis court is nearby. There is also a basketball court.

Great place to visit. Bathrooms can use some work but like to come by for a small BBQ
Misty A — Google review
Nice Tennis courts available on weekdays. It can windy at times particularly in the evening and there is no wind barrier. Just a mesh fence. Court slopes slightly away from Msj high school.

A great park to play with the kids. We had fun playing soccer and in the playground.
Jane C — Google review
The park has a really beautiful lawn and equally good play area for kids , however with no public restrooms and the pool staff wont allow kids to use their restrooms. So please plan accordingly if going with kids if you are walking them to park.
Ajitkumar K — Google review
Cute little park with very few people. So it is safer than any other famous park. Tip: Go here if you hate crowded parks
Deepti G — Google review
Great little local park. It is attached to an elementary school, but the edge and back area seem to be separate and available to the public even during school hours. I walk my dogs here and have run into and met friendly neighbors. Always nice, clean and well kept!
Valerie M — Google review
Meyer Park A perfect small park in Fremont. I come here with my Chihuahua as bigger parks tend to be a bit much for her. This is quite the little “hidden gem” in plain site. From expansive lawns, to the wonderful children play area, to the basketball courts, picnic tables and benches to rest on, this park has a little bit of something for everybody, especially if you’re looking for it to be a little more quiet and a lot less crowded. They have events like Easter Egg Hunt & summer movies.
Emerald S — Google review
This is our community's park. Clean, nicely maintained and the place where community events are held. Christmas tree lighting, Easter egg hunts, it brings the whole community together. Has a nice small playground where little kids can play. Dog friendly as well. You can spend quality time with here

Park
Small clean neighborhood park with one playarea suitable for 5 to 12 year old kids, one basketball court, few benches to relax, and grassy field.😊
Vandana R — Google review
Very relaxing atmosphere with the mountain background. Has a basketball court and a small playground for toddlers. Mostly used by neighborhood elders for brisk walks and exercise. Not much shade but lots of open field for other athletic activities
Amiel P — Google review
Great open space with a small children's play structure. Many people play volley ball and teams practice soccer. Many folks walk around this park daily.
Jan T — Google review
Know before you go! Quiet neighborhood. Bring sunscreen! No bathroom. Small playground for toddlers. Only 3-4 benches to sit at so bring a blanket for a picnic. Also be sure to pack toys for the grass (balls, kites, etc) The shade is at the back of the park where there are many sticks and rocks, not blanket friendly. The grass area does not have a sidewalk so many people walk through or around the playground.
EM J — Google review
My daughter loved this park. Not much shade though. No bathroom. Soft ground, relativly safe play area. Nice and open field, great for oicnics it kites, frisbeeb and outside sport really. Some people place futbol here.
James H — Google review
It is a pretty park. Good for children ages 5-12. I wish they had more toddler friendly equipment and gates surrounding they area.
Melissa O — Google review
Small, cozy neighborhood community park. Kids always gather here after school. Young adults play soccer here on weekend.
Eric H — Google review
This park has potential it gets a lot of usage but it's in need of bathrooms and at least some drinking faucets.
