Outdoor Activities
Scarborough State Beach is a public beach with lifeguards, swimming areas, picnic tables, and an observation tower. The 42-acre beach offers moderate surf and stunning views of the Narragansett Bay meeting the ocean. Visitors can enjoy a concrete boardwalk with gazebos, an observation tower, and a grassy section for kite flying and picnicking. There's also a trail connecting to Black Point for fishing and hiking. The beach provides ample parking including electric vehicle charging stations.
Such a great beach. HUGE! The waves were excellent. We rented a VRBO nearby and spent several hours here, each day. Parking isn't too expensive. Bathrooms and food options are available. As easy drive.
John R — Google review
Beautiful beach with best sand in Rhode Island, especially on low tide. Long wide beach, walk to the ruins and black point. Nice facilities and plenty of paid parking. Keep an eye in the tides as it changes. Fun stop on the bike tour!
Steve T — Google review
Okay. So let's talk about this... $14 parking for the weekend. Not bad. We were close to the entrance and that's even better. Sand is soft soft with lots of small rocks on the wall down. Wear shoes. You instantly notice the strong ocean smell, almost like it's low tide but it's not. The ocean was RED from all the red seaweed. I understand we had a hurricane pass through recently, maybe that's why this happened . My son was brave to still swim.... When we took his bathing suit off... HUGE bugs came out of his bathing suit.. terrible 😭😭 The waves were perfect, some tidal pools present. Bathrooms and food available.
Cheryl L — Google review
Nice beach with good space for parking, nice waves, The beach shore has a lot of stones, if you want to go in, wear water shoes, the only one bad thing is that they not permit fly drones over the beach.
Jhoan M — Google review
Pretty beach with fun waves and sand. The port-a-potties were very smelly but they do have other bathrooms. There's an outdoor shower/rinse station. There are a few rules like no ball or Frisbee throwing.
Leslie H — Google review
It’s ok. Plenty of parking space- only one line to get in. Cheaper compared to the others- 14 $ per car this weekend. That being said, the toilets were filthy, there was seaweed in the water and it was smelly at times. Loud announcements gave some 1984-like / old authoritarian regime feeling…. It was quite eerie and funny at the same time. So…. Cheap price/ quality to match that.
C. S — Google review
The beach is nice, however there are many rules here announced on the PA. It's like a North Korean beach dictator pronouncing draconian propaganda at extremely obnoxious volumes on their blasting PA system. Good luck trying to rest and relax at this beach with these frequent assaults on your ears with unnecessary long-winded announcements. No common sense, kites, ball play, Frisbee, or fun. Also even if you're a great swimmer, don't go swimming out more than 50ft, you'll get lifeguards blowing their little whistles like crazy at you "because you're too far out." We had the boy scout park rangers come over and tell us to take down our small volleyball net even though our group of young teenagers were far north and away from the water with nobody around. They were crushed and were looking forward to playing some fun volleyball games for weeks. It was like 87 degrees and we were informed quite loudly in every rambling PA blast that it was going to be hot and to drink plenty of liquids. Are we 5 years old??? Some mild fog rolled in (mind you the waves are like 1ft) and they said, "Swimming is restricted to waist deep water only." Is this America??? One positive is the snack shack.
Andy D — Google review
Love this beach. Lots of parking space. It was clean & maintained properly. Good washroom & facilities for food too. There were lifeguards on duty, but there were lots of seaweeds on shore. Had a good time with family. Will definitely visit again.

Public beach
Narragansett Town Beach is a classic New England oceanside recreational area that offers sandy shores and great surfing opportunities. It stands out among the three state park beaches in Narragansett, RI with its reliably vigorous surf and stunning view of the Towers. The beach is well-equipped for accessibility, offering ADA surf chairs at no charge. For novice surfers, the beach generally offers small waves and clean waters, making it perfect for learning or practicing.
Our absolute favorite beach—worth every minute of the 4-hour drive! We always choose it over closer spots. Why? Impeccably clean, every single time. The water is crystal-clear and the waves are consistently perfect for swimming and play. It feels like pure bliss. The only downside: parking is VERY tough for visitors. Most prime spots near the sand are resident-only permits, forcing out-of-towners to hunt further out. Despite this, we keep coming back – it’s that magical! A gem.
Nagham — Google review
Best beach in Narragansett and walking across the street to the town and shops. Love the seawall, Coast gaurd house, and the beautiful sand. Fun place to learn how to surf from Warm Winds. Walk the beach all the way to the narrow river, past the dunes club. Incredible sand and waters to swim in. Fossilized Shark teeth have been found here too, along with cool sea glass. Great free concerts at the Gazebo that the town puts together. Parking can be a challenge. Get here early or late in the day. Enjoy and please help to keep the beach clean. You know what and who you might bump into while on vacation. Love stopping here on the bike tour! Especially nice to park here and go to beach after summer, when it’s free and the fence has been taken down.
Steve T — Google review
Lovely beach with convenient access and parking. Free parking after 5 pm. Some eateries and shops are within walking distance. Also the ocean drive is nearby for a scenic drive after enjoying the beach.
Rashid F — Google review
It's a great place to have fun on the beach in New England. You just pay US$12 and enjoy of a clean and nice beach, with showers and access to the bathrooms. Also you can pay 10 for parking or there are some street parking for free.
Steven M — Google review
It was really fun swimming there. it had a pretty good temperature in the water. The waves were pretty good, but it depends on the day. I went with my friend and we had a great time together there. We got some food at the entrance each day and it was pretty good. However we thought that the hotdog basket would have been a basket of a bunch of hot dogs but it means that it just has fries. Cost to get it is good.
Lucian A — Google review
I have been coming to this beach for a long time and it’s just way too expensive! There are no parking spots and the residential parking has nobody parked there. The only lot they use for out of towners gets filled up fast and the only way to find a parking spot is on the street very far away from the beach. $12 to get in which is a joke! The beach is nice but it’s very crowded and there are some cranky people there. Highly recommend going to Matunick beach or one of the Newport beaches instead.
Leduardo M — Google review
Paid $15 for parking at the West Lot (very courteous staff everywhere), and $12 for each adult entering the beach (kids 11 and under don't pay). The area near the West Lot entrance is really awful - overcrowded, filthy water and extremely loud. Walking towards the left side you can find cleaner waters and a much more interesting area to swim, including an amazing area to float where the river meets the ocean. Overall a nice experience.
Livia L — Google review
The beach is beautiful, with crystal-clear water. It's a great spot for family fun.

Outdoor Activities
Salty Brine State Beach, formerly known as Galilee State Beach, is a popular destination with a wide sandy expanse and tranquil shallow waters. Renamed in 1990 for a Rhode Island radio legend, it offers a small but charming spot to enjoy the sights and sounds of the state's fishing culture. The beach features a newly completed pavilion with amenities such as a concession stand and shade structures.
Great beach and breachway with swimming in the ocean , but no waves here. Beach is located near Georges Tiki Bar and you can watch the boats go through the channel, including the ferry to block island. Family beach and facilities with showers. Good lobster rolls here too. Fishing from the pier. Can walk the beach towards Roger Wheeler beach too. Recommend getting here early as parking is limited, or even better after 5:00. Enjoy and please help to keep the beach clean.
Steve T — Google review
The beach is 84 steps wide. Then there’s a fence to George’s Private Beach. It is a cute little beach. Cleaned up some trash and pulled a mini back pack out of the sand/water that some little kids left behind. FB: Yodas Tripping FB: WorldChanger Heather

+3 Bright 🌟~Unreal that I am a URI Alumni, Lifelong Rhode Islander who loves the Beach and I have never been here. My best guess is that it's really family & kid friendly. I'm thankful for living "Munchkin Free" today (not totally in the waistline), they're a lot of work. Pic's can't describe the perfectly gorgeous beach day this turned out to be. Listen people... If they can offer you clean restrooms, you can at least do your part...Pick up your trash RI Beach Guests!!
M D — Google review
This is my favorite beach in Rhode Island. I like being able to move farther down the beach away from a lot of the families, but still have access to the restrooms/showers and food stands. It's also right beside George's where you can get a nice cocktail or bite to eat.
Corrie M — Google review
A great little beach. Gorgeous views & no waves. Perfect for a chill time at the beach.
Ny C — Google review
Beautiful location. Clean beach. Parking can be a bit tricky - busy area. I got here quite in the morning and there was hardly anyone here. I just took a quick morning walk here while passing through.
Heidi J — Google review
Parking is an issue unless you arrive at 730am. It is worth it. You have everything you need. Many food options and a Tiki bar on the beach. The waves are not big and you get to watch the boats and ferry coming in and out.
Traci L — Google review
Number one spot for 40 years. Georges has best clam cakes n chowda! Best view..boats in and out...water is perfect..waves good for kids..soft sand..nearby bathroom and food..fresh off boat..ferry right there.

Beach
Roger Wheeler State Beach, also known as Sand Hill Cove, is a popular destination in Rhode Island. The beach features a gradual slope into the ocean, making it ideal for families with young children. Visitors can enjoy the calm and warm waters along with fine white sand. Amenities such as food and drink, lifeguards, playground, parking (fee), showers, and toilets are available for convenience.
Family beach with great swimming. Nice for anyone that prefers to have no waves. Beautiful sand and really nice to walk. Can head towards Salty Brine and Georges for food or the tiki bar. Lots of parking here in the large lots. Great stop on the bike tour! Have fun and please keep the beach clean.
Steve T — Google review
Like any beach the tide brings in / out seaweed but if you closer to private beachline you can enjoy ball playing and body surfing. Great for toddlers and the retired folks retreat.
Lori T — Google review
It’s a sandy beach with some rocks. There are lifeguards available before 6pm. The waves are not huge and it’s quite enjoyable for toddlers and kids. I saw some kids trying surfing. The water temperature was quite okay. I believe it would be great around August. Overall a good beach. Only issue is it’s a bit rocky. Family friendly. And plenty of parking too
Shavik G — Google review
Parking is cheap for in or out of state. However, it was a very crowded and very rocky beach. Watch out for the seagulls- one actually LANDED on my head and tried to take the food right out of my mouth. And the next day one swooped down and grabbed half a sandwich out of my sister's hand- there are RUTHLESS! I will say, it was nice to visit in the evening to relax watch the sunset, perfect for looking for rocks and flying a kite.
Jennifer H — Google review
The beach has more rocks than sand. The water is surrounded by jetty, so the waves are almost nonexistent. Good for small children to enjoy the water without getting clobbered by massive waves.
Matthew M — Google review
Nice beach to visit - can get crowded but relatively flat to walk - watch the ferries and fishing boats go in and out- the pavilion branches are being remade so there is some construction although is has paused for summer
EMEL 1 — Google review
the perfect kids beach...inside the harbor of refuge.. it does not get the wave or rip current of the direct ocean beaches...but still has the action the water provides....currently renovating to add more kids activities and beach sand...
William S — Google review
Beautiful Beach. Its very long , lots of water access. I was there on a Wednesday and there was plenty of room to setup a blanket and chairs. Also plenty of parking available. There are restrooms, some food options, and a store where you can purchase some necessities. It was clean.

South County Museum, located on the Canonchet Farm in Narragansett, has been preserving the town's history and artifacts since 1933. With over 20,000 unique items, the museum offers guided tours almost daily. Visitors can explore local history through hands-on exhibits and memorabilia. The museum also serves as a unique wedding venue with beautiful ivy stables for ceremonies and a picturesque field for tented receptions.
This Museum was amazing. I came with the Westcott reunion in June. The displays are put together in a way that is very easy to follow. The guides had an amazing extent knowledge. The blacksmiths were also very knowledgeable. All around it was a great experience.
Tasha M — Google review
This museum is small but mighty in its plethora of information and materials detailing life in South County - from an exhibit on the Narragansett People, to owners of the original farm, local soldiers, fishermen, and visitors to Narragansett in its heyday. There's even a working Victrola! There are other buildings as well, including buildings with a blacksmith shop, carpenter shed, a weaving and textile building, and one with early 20th century vehicles. We spent a good few hours here. It's well worth a visit!
Cay F — Google review
Great Museum, Why? The collections are well done, and the staff love what they do. We had a great time.
Jon M — Google review
Amazing amounts of history about the local area. Very unique exhibits about South County in the late 19th and early 20tj century. Definitely worth a couple of hours of time.
Miguel N — Google review
Cute little peaceful spot with nice grounds to wander, really cool museum and the workshops outside are super fun. Really friendly people, especially the blacksmith.

Timothy P — Google review
We got married at South County Museum in August and it was amazing! The staff was excellent to communicate with and work with throughout the entire process. We had our ceremony in the ivy stables and it was beautiful. We had a tented reception in the field to follow. Our guests loved visiting the museum and seeing the property. If you are looking for a unique wedding venue in South County visit the museum! We recommend 100%!
Amy B — Google review
Lovely until we saw the animal areas. Let me pause for a moment to say I'm a zoo keeper of 20 years, mostly working with birds. My husband is a retired zoo keeper, working with mammals for 46 years. There were 4 sheep, all unshorn, with very thick wool coats, in a small field attached to a barn. There was shade enough for one sheep; the other 3 were lying down, open mouthed breathing and looked extremely hot in the sun (it was mid July, and 90 degrees.) As far as I could see, access to the barn was closed, so they were stuck outside. There was at least water available. Next, we came to the chick coop. There were, as one of the docents told me, 150 chicks this year. This place is very proud of their Rhode Island Red heritage breed chickens; they have won numerous awards, and their ribbons are hanging in the museum's main building. They also sell adult chickens to breeders and hobbyists. I have no complaints with that. The coop was small for 150 chicks, but I didn't see any aggression, it was relatively clean, and there was plenty of food and water. The adult chicken coops, on the other hand, were beyond disgusting. If I kept animals at my job the ways these birds were kept, I would be fired immediately. There were 2 to 4 inch thick piles of feces under the roost perches and on the floor. I even took a picture, in horror. I have worked with chickens, which we keep at the zoo in the farm area, and for surrogate rearing pheasants. I've also worked with a lot of pheasants. Believe me when I tell you, this was not a day or two of excrement; it was mutiple days, or weeks. There was an ammonia smell in the air. It was abusively filthy. I felt horrible for the one hen nesting in the filthier of the 2 coops. The rest of the birds were outside. There were 2 small yards, completely barren, not a blade of grass. Yes, I know chickens peck at greenery and defoliate. Where I work, we plant more plants for them, put down pine needles, and turn the soil, not leave a hard packed yard of dirt. There was limited shade, and the birds were mostly huddled in it, although a few were walking around in the sunny areas. I did see water available, but not food, although it could have been out of my sight line in the coops. The chickens all looked healthy, with good feather condition. But they should absolutely not have to live in their own waste. What started off as a very pleasant day ended up being awful. I understand that the South County Museum is not rolling in cash, as most cultural and education facilities are not. Funding for workers is surely limited. However, the grounds and buildings are all impeccably kept; for goodness sake, why are the areas with LIVE ANIMALS neglected so horribly?

Hiking area
Black Point Trailhead is a hidden gem nestled along the picturesque Narragansett coastline. The trail offers captivating ocean views and a chance to immerse yourself in nature. Unlike other hiking spots, it features broad, well-kept trails with minimal tree cover. Visitors can explore three main sections: an inland path, a coastal path, and rocky coastlines during low tide. The area boasts stunning views and beautiful tide pools, providing an opportunity for peaceful relaxation away from crowded beaches.
If you have kids who like to climb, the rocks along the coast are great for it. Some are loose even some larger ones so just take that into consideration. Lots of different bird species, rabbits of course. Fun family friendly place to spend an afternoon exploring.
PayItForward — Google review
There are no restrooms!! If you need to go, I recommend driving to the dunkin' down the road! Trails are not well marked, but it's not a long trail! The best part of this place is exploring the big rocks and big tide pools!
Chrishell K — Google review
What a quick little neat trail to the ruins. The information sign tells you some history. There are no bins so pack in and out. Can climb inside the ruins. Would be perfect for sunrise or sunset photos. The parking lot fills up fast. I noticed there were some side trails going onto the main one. It’s a little busy of a weekend.
Marcelle A — Google review
Such a great place to walk along the ocean with a fantastic history as an estate property. I've always enjoyed this very special place
Mike L — Google review
Best views and seaside walks in Narraganset. Just a few miles from the seawall and beach. Walk or bike around the trails that go by the rocks and breaking surf. Fishing is good off the rocks, but be aware of the tides. Nice place to look for sea glass, although less than there used to be. Take the trails all the way to Scarborough beach and then walk the beach too. So nice! Parking lot is very small so best to get there early or late in the day. Evening walks are so sweet too! Walking distance from eastward look. Great stop on the bike tour. Also Love going here during storms to check out the waves.
Steve T — Google review
One of my favorite places to capture engagement photos, family and seniors. Black Point gives such a unique coastal backdrop and is less busy than other similar locations.
Victoria C — Google review
Excellent ocean walk with lots of access to the ocean. I spent a lot of time searching the various tidal pools at low tide. Would be a great place to go fishing. Ruins at the end of a 19th century carriage house are overgrown but worth checking out.

Love to walk this part of the trail! Easy to follow to some rocks and tide pools to explore. I have seen shrimp and little fish in them. Crabs, snails and more! Depending on the day and tide level.

Adventureland Family Fun Park is a seasonal amusement park located in Narragansett, offering a variety of activities for visitors from May to October. The park features mini-golf, go-kart racing, batting cages, bumper boats, bumper cars, and retro-style games like air hockey and skee ball. Guests can also enjoy the old-school Carousel and try their hand at Bankshot, a basketball-meets-mini-golf experience.
We booked a party for my son’s 7th birthday. The kids aged from 4 to 9 and they had a blast! We recommend playing mini golf last so you have time to enjoy other activities first. Right from the beginning the staff was very friendly and answered our numerous questions over the phone. Malissa made sure we were comfortable with everything and explained the party to us very well. The day of the party was so easy. Lily was our hostess and she was so accommodating. She checked in on us regularly and really helped us enjoy the day with our boy! Top notch service!

This is a nice place to spend time with your family and do a bunch of things together that you may not do on a normal day. If you choose the all day pass, you can do batting cages, bumper boats, go carts, bumper cars, carousel, mini golf, as well as basketball shooting area. There are also some arcade games and coin rides for smaller children. There is a snack stand where you can purchase all kinds of goodies including ice cream, nachos and cheese, hot pretzels, slushies and drinks. This is a fun place for all ages. The staff is super friendly. And they accommodate you if you have someone in your party that cannot ride alone due to a height or age restrictions. They will drive for you with your child. I had a party of three. I had two of my grandsons with me. Both were under the age and height limit for go kart driv8ng. The staff kindly accommodated us. I drove with one of my grandsons in my go cart and a staff member drove my other grandson for me. That was very thoughtful and we appreciated that. Mini golf was very fun.

This place is great! But to be fair, it could use an upgrade. Especially on the mini golf course. You can tell that this place has been around for a long time. Just need to spiff it back up to its former glory

My daughter just started playing softball this year and my husband and I thought it would be a great idea for her to get some practice in, so we came by and not only did she get some batting practice in we also were able to ride go go carts! We had a great time! I world recommend this place for sure. Not only is it conveniently located, we had a lot of fun!
Jeannine L — Google review
I went to the mini-golf course, the batting cages, the go-karts and the arcade. The mini-golf course was actually fantastic. A great layout with a neat gimmick on each hole. One hole is actually an island in the pool with the bumper boats, how neat! The go-karts were a blast! The batting cages worked well and were fun! The arcade had many great games you don't see everywhere! Some games do need some maintenance, but I still had a great time.
Kyle M — Google review
We went here the Friday before we left for home from vacation and had a really fun time. Mini Golf was fast but fun. No wait. Slightly dated, but the course was interesting and we had a great time together as a family. Go Karts afterwards were a blast. The track was laid out nicely, and the karts perfect for us. All of the drivers were great at the time, with the exception of one who was spoken to without incident. The video games and carousel area compact but added some additional excitement. We didn’t try the batting cages but they too seemed to be fun. I am rating Adventureland a 5 because we had a great time, everything while a little dated, was fun, and our vacation ended on a great note. Highly recommend as a stop if you are visiting.

John H. Chafee National Wildlife Refuge in Rhode Island is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts. Spanning 550 acres, it offers opportunities for kayaking, fishing, and birdwatching. Visitors can explore the refuge by canoe, kayak, or boat to observe its diverse wildlife. The area also features dedicated fishing spots along the shoreline. Additionally, it's a popular spot for paddleboarding and walking dogs.
Beautiful place to stop and take in nature at it's best!

Janice B — Google review
Quiet place to visit, open fields and dog walkers. Not much really stood out, nor was there anything interesting to see. Brambles and block some paths into the woods, and a lot of the space is protected anyways. Nice for a picnic.
Nicole R — Google review
Wonderful birds. Beautiful water. Self-righteousness power boaters get frustrated with all the SUP and kayak traffic and like to drive fast, very close to often inexperienced paddlers. Somehow it all works out!
Fred H — Google review
Great spot to put in on Narrow river to kayak. Osprey nest, fishing, egrets, and the only cheap way to get to Narragansett beach. The tide can be too strong for children and motor boats are an issue.
Virginia M — Google review
Nice place to launch a paddleboard or kayak on the Narrows. Haven't really walked the grounds, but see plenty of people with dogs doing so, so that must also be enjoyable. Nice to have a preservation in the heart of Gansett so that all can enjoy.

Beautiful scenery, wildlife, and great places to pull over and read a book or swim! Some areas have a bit of a stench though, so that's why it's a four star.

Durkin Cottage Realty offers a range of clean and quaint cottages in Narragansett, Rhode Island. The area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts and beach lovers, with renowned surf spots adding excitement to coastal adventures. The family-run business provides responsive and accommodating service, making the rental process smooth. Guests can enjoy spacious houses with amenities like pools, creating a comfortable stay for extended families.
Durkin literally SAVED our bachelorette trip! After our rental at another local company fell through the day of our arrival, we were left stranded with 12 girls who came in from all over the country to celebrate our bride to be. We got a recommendation from the locals to go talk to Durkin and they were absolute angels and so so helpful. They got us hooked up for the weekend at an absolutely stunning cottage that was large enough to accommodate our group size, fit the exact "coastal grandma" vibes the bride wanted, had a gorgeous pool, and was minutes from the beach. We were able to get all of this handled without the bride knowing and into the house within 30 minutes of talking with them. Jack, Heather, and Karen at the office were SO kind and even made sure we left with some goodies for the group (reusable beach bags and souvenir cups)! They made everything so easy and we ended up having the best time.

If this review could make at least one person change their mind about renting from Durkin.. I’ll be satisfied. I rented from them in college for two years, and they were terrible. Super money hungry and will do whatever they can to get another dollar from their already financially struggling college students. The house we stayed in was incredible, but horribly kept and falling apart. We would reach out to have things fixed and rarely hear back. When we did, they would send someone at horrible times and unannounced to do a lazy job. Please don’t rent from Durkin realty.

My parents have been renting from Durkin for over 40 years!!! :) such a wonderful family run business, Jim has always been so good to them!! :) every year a different cottage!!! :) we LOVE RI!!! The cottages are always clean, quaint!!! Always feels like home when we are in Narragansett!!!! Till next year.... hope you all have a great summer!!! :) this was their view this year, by the pool!! :)

I rented with Durkin Cottage Realty for my first ever rental - a house on Ponagansett Pkwy. They have always been extremely responsive and quick. I also appreciate their leniency with extensions for the rent if you provide proof of loans. I always get an email response in 24 business hours if I have any questions/concerns. My landlord, Steve, is also very responsive and kind. I got my entire security deposit back last year (minus $50 for the rug which I completely understood - we accidentally stained it and it was white so we were expecting that deduction). Your landlord holds onto your security deposit, not Durkin, just FYI. It is up to the landlord whether or not they return it, so that shouldn’t really reflect on the realty company’s reviews. Keep your house clean, reach out about maintenance within 48 hours of the issue occurring, and be respectful of the house you rent, and your outcome should be good. I rented the same house again for my senior year and came back to awesome updates - a new deck, new couch, new table, etc). Landscaping and trash pick up are always timely. I have no complaints.

Renters beware: A member of my family has been having issues with a mice infestation since December of last year, and the staff have refused to do much of anything about it. Staying here? Prepare for: - dead mice in your toilet - rat poop on the floor Have issues? They won’t be fixed.

Event venue
Kinney Bungalow at Sunset Farm is a charming wedding venue with a responsive and accommodating team. The sunset views are breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for weddings. While the venue offers lovely open spaces and a large fireplace, some guests found the views less desirable due to overlooking a dirt pit. Despite this, many have had magical experiences getting married here, even in rainy weather. Additionally, the farm offers fresh summer veggies but has received mixed feedback on their pie prices.
We went to a wedding year last week and it was beautiful I would absolutely recommend it as a wedding venue. It's beautiful and we had a great time

We love shopping for produce here and usually are quite pleased. No complaints. But this time I bought a fresh baked Very Berry pie. There was literally more crust than pie filling. Must be a fluke as every other pie has been delicious.
Alan N — Google review
Venue is nice, but the views are less than desirable. The back of building overlooks a dirt pit and several pieces of heavy equipment, kinda strange. The 3 stall bathroom only had one consistently working toilet in the ladies room during the event I was at. The upstairs open space is very pretty with a large fireplace.

I just git married here it was everything i dreamed it would be with rain and that didnt stop the magic from coming together. Thank you kinney bungalow you guys are amazing.

We just got married at Kinney Bungalow this past August and we had a great experience! The best part: Daisy and her team were incredibly responsive, accommodating, and helpful with the entire wedding planning process. From our first tour to the last walk through, she was super sweet and made us feel confident that our big day will go well. A couple of things about the venue to really consider: - The sunset is really the best here! Look up when the sunset is on your big day and plan for that! We sat down for dinner as the sun was setting and it was the perfect backdrop for us. - The bar is tiny so consider doing a limited bar service instead of a full open bar. - There is no AC so if you know it will be hot, rent some extra fans. The ocean breeze was perfect for our ceremony and most of our reception but the fans will be nice when dancing starts! Happy wedding planning!
J L — Google review
Attended a wedding there this summer. Beautiful place. 85 degree day, no AC, hotter than heck upstairs. Wow. Then the owner or GM walking around and eating from across the event, appetizers, drinks, dessert and while in short and T-Shirt. Not cool at all.
Bahjat S — Google review
We got so lucky finding Kinney Bungalow for our wedding venue (we live in LA but my now-husband grew up in RI), securing it for our preferred dates in both 2021 and 2022 (thanks COVID), and getting incredible (albeit a bit windy...) weather for our wedding day! We toured Kinney Bungalow in December 2019 and, while it was lovely, we never could've imagined just how beautiful it was going to be for our May wedding! The hedges were in full bloom, the grass was a lovely shade of green, the cars on the road were few & far between, and the cows were out grazing in the pasture. It looked so good that we actually had someone try to unsuccessfully crash our wedding... The only thing to note is that you may be up against a few restrictions since the venue is owned by the Town of Narragansett. None of these things were a big deal for us but make sure you read the contract carefully to see if there are any non-starters for you if you want to book this space for your wedding. :) We also truly appreciated, especially considering we were planning a wedding from across the country amidst a pandemic, how helpful and responsive Daisy was throughout the entire process. Daisy always so incredible, never acted like my myriad questions were a nuisance, and on top of everything! We got so lucky with this gem and with Daisy leading us throughout the planning process!

North Beach Club House is a hidden gem located in a beautiful location, offering spacious and clean facilities for various events. The venue features a huge deck that can be covered with a tent, making it suitable for weddings and receptions. The picturesque views of the water make it an incredibly gorgeous spot, perfect for creating unforgettable memories. The staff are described as helpful and accommodating, ensuring that events run smoothly.
We are so happy that we booked the North Beach Clubhouse for our wedding day on 10/26/24. The venue and location were absolutely stunning. We had our ceremony on the deck overlooking the ocean which made the perfect background for photos. Our guests were all so impressed by the beachside location. The layout of the venue allows for plenty of socializing and dancing; our guests had options to be inside, outside on the deck, and go onto the beach. It was the perfect size for our wedding guest count of 82. Additionally, the staff members were all very friendly and quick to respond to any questions or requests. Margie and Lisa helped book and coordinate my event, keeping me updated along the way. They provided a list of preferred vendors who were all absolutely amazing and familiar with the venue, allowing for a stress-free day. Overall, we could not have imagined a more perfect venue! I'd definitely recommend for any occasion.

Really cool beach! I am from out of town and it was super cool to visit. The sand is super fine, and feels really nice to walk in. Prepare to get there earlier in the day, as once mid-day hits, it can be difficult to find space. Most people are very nice and give each other their space, but there are of course a few here and there that decided to place their things too close to our spot but that happens anywhere you go. I’d recommend visiting the Pettaquamscutt River and floating in the currents.
Henry M — Google review
For the most part the north beach clubhouse was perfect for my wedding day! My only true complaint was that when we booked the venue we were told it was gonna cost several hundred dollars to rent a tent for the deck- which was fine at the time. Then when it came time to actually purchase the rental and pay they had changed vendors and it went up in price to $1,500. I understand that’s not their doing but having little notice on that was frustrating. But overall I had the best day of my life and I wouldn’t go back and change the venue over a little issue such as that.

We recently had our wedding 6/11/23 at NBC and it was more than we could have imagined. This venue is a hidden gem - Not only are the views great, but the building and deck are spacious and clean. Our guests loved the atmosphere this venue brought to our wedding. This is worth every penny, which is also very budget friendly!

I got married here. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for an affordable venue at a beautiful location. Daisy helped us out and was really helpful by guiding us to our perfect day. The venue is clean and looks amazing. The deck is huge and you can rent a tent to cover a large portion of it. This location is honestly the best place. Our wedding was amazing and the preferred caterers were amazing and super helpful as well. 10/10 would recommend this place to others.

Fishermen's Memorial State Park and Campground in Narragansett, Rhode Island is a top camping spot offering a village-like atmosphere with well-maintained grounds, tree-lined paths, and various recreational activities. The campground provides options for tent camping or RV campsites with amenities like plumbing and water hookups. Visitors can enjoy tennis courts, basketball courts, playgrounds for kids, and elevated viewing decks. The park also features a dumping station, bathrooms, and plentiful fire pits.
The campground has electric and water hookups. They also have sewer hookups. The large campsites in area 1 were the best. Reservations are not easy to book, 12 months out they fill up. Bathrooms were very clean. Sites in area 2 were most unlevel. Firepit was at every site.
Caroline C — Google review
Felt like I was practicing being homeless rather than camping. Campsites are right next to the bathrooms and the hand dryer can be heard throughout the night. No quiet hours are enforced and it stayed loud till midnight which is hard to avoid when there’s tents right next to each other with no barriers. When you arrive they hand you a permit with bold letters stating “no alcohol” which was not advertised on the website or when booked. No beach access, you must leave the park and pay for access to local beaches.
Tarren W — Google review
We found the campground ok. If you are near the road you will hear the traffic and drag racing. Otherwise inside the grounds it’s actually quiet ( no partying as no alcohol is allowed) Our site was level but looking at other sites you need to level. We were in the area of water and electricity only but dumping is located in the park. We have a low motorhome which we found it frustrating as the dump is up high. The bathrooms are clean but you have to pay to use the showers. They do have a change machine to do so. If you have kids they have a playground and basketball court. We noticed tennis and volleyball net too. There is no real beach access and a lot of beach’s you have to pay and don’t allow dogs. Fisherman’s park over near the lighthouse you can fish from but we also took our dogs there with no issues. And you don’t have to pay for parking. If you want icecream Aunt Carries has a big selection. There is a surf, coffee and breakfast place across the road and up a bit that my husband recommends. Coffee is strong thou. They will make you show your pass every time you come in the park not just look at it from your windscreen. You have to have your Registration or take a photo of your plates to show the front desk which can lead to multiple rigs waiting. Also if you are in a motorhome and tow a car you are not allowed anymore cars at your site. The sites themselves had some privacy but people will cut through if you are located near a trash bin.
Marcelle A — Google review
We enjoyed this campground. It had lots of trees and bushes. Lots of roads to take walks. Some views of the water. Some areas will have a bit of highway noise. Trash area good with a place to throw away propane tanks. Love the surrounding area and there is a grocery store not far away.
Krista ( — Google review
Truly there's some very kind people who work here as we are homeless and needed a place to rest, some have treated us poorly, but not at this camp, they were welcoming to me and my best furry friend, and we are truly grateful to have this place as an emergency shelter. The area is just marvelous with the sunsets, the stars, the coyotes singing at night, the summer breeze with the ocean in the distance, it truly is a magical place. I only wish they didn't charge you a few bucks for every shower. What are we paying for with our booking if we can't take a shower once a day? That's my only complaint but it's not enough to lower a star. They turned off the free outdoor showers that should've instantly made the indoor showers free or something should've been posted to the website in advance since it claims to have free outdoor cold showers. It's kind of forcing us to pay. If they had a token system of one shower per day or something that would make more sense. Anyways, the sites are nice and spacious, maintenance keeps up with cleanliness quite well. There's plenty of trails for walks. The only other gripe I have is the massive windmill that is low on oil, yes I've worked on heavy machinery and can tell you this thing needs an oil change badly! It sounds terrible at night and it's only sometimes - why I know it's an oil issue. Please change this before the winter or you're going to have a seized motor on your hands. It's very very loud if your site is right there it sounds like a small airplane overhead all night. Still... Love this place too much to knock a star off. For what it lacks it makes up with it's nature and location.
Jonathan H — Google review
This is a very popular Campground for many reasons. First, it's reasonably priced at $28 per night for Rhode Island residents and $55 for out of state. This includes water, sewer and electric. It's located on a hillside with the most popular sites being at the bottom of the hill. These are especially large, with those towards the top of the hill being narrower, and some are very steep making it a challenge to level your rig. The biggest drawback to staying here is the terrible reserve America reservation system. It's very user unfriendly, and doesn't allow any change of sites, change of days or anything of the sort. It's impossible to deal with an individual that can assist, including the rangers at the camp who are at the mercy of reserve America. Another oddball thing is if you're in a class a, b or c (Self-Propelled) rig you can only have one other drivable vehicle on site, whereas with a trailer you can have two. This can cause complications if you have a visitor that's coming to spend the night as you have to park that vehicle far off site as there are no permitted parking options at the campsite. Guests must depart at 10:00 p.m. and the charge for a guest vehicle is $12 for the daytime only visit. The area is well maintained.
Thomas B — Google review
This is a former military base turned state park. That helps explain the bunkers and look out tower. Only speny one night there returning from a trip to Acadia. So, it was a place to rest our heads. However, our site was kind of ridiculous. It was a pull through that was curved, had a significant slope and some slant. Ours was bad, but others were worse. Do your best to avoid sites like ours. Not a lot of amenities. But it is close to the ocean.

Rose Nulman Park is an unexpectedly exclusive private park that offers breathtaking vistas of the ocean. Its prime location makes it an ideal spot to witness the sunrise, with numerous benches strategically positioned towards the east. Visitors can access a trail leading down to the shore from the adjacent road. Additionally, one can catch a glimpse of the lighthouse, albeit through a fenced boundary. It's worth noting that parking within the premises is currently inaccessible; therefore, street parking is recommended.
Beautiful little beachside park right next to Point Judith Lighthouse. It’s privately owned but open to the public. There are several benches on top of a small hill overlooking the rocky shore, they make for some excellent reading spots. Also this park allowed me to get the best possible photos of the nearby lighthouse, as it is to my knowledge not open to the public. The park also includes a public access trail to the actual beach (although if you’re looking for a sandy beach, nearby Fisherman’s Wharf, Roger Wheeler, or Scarborough are better options). Great place to relax and enjoy some ocean views along with the sound of crashing waves.

Unexpectedly it is a private park. It has great views on the ocean. I'd guess it's perfect for meeting sunrise. Plenty of benches facing east. There is a trail to the shore, access from the road. You have a view on the lighthouse as well, although over the fence. Keep in mind that the parking lot is blocked, so one could park on the street only.

We had the opportunity/honor to visit the Rhode Island State in JUL_FY2024 and it was an amazing experience, a great opportunity to learn more about RI's history and legacy. We did a plant tour at Rose Nulman Part and for sure it's a remarkable place. Definitely, it's a place that deserves my respect. It was a privilege.

Nice little park on Point Judith with great views of the ocean. It is up on a cliff and provides 270 degree views. There is public, parking, benches, and some rocks to climb on. It is next to the lighthouse which you unfortunately cant get to since it is gated off. It is a very peaceful place that I would recommend if you are in the area.

Nice quiet spot with plenty of benches.

Great place to visit with plenty of parking. Benches to sit and enjoy the view of the ocean and lighthouse.
