Nature & Parks
Gorica Park, located just a short distance from downtown Podgorica and next to the stadium, is often referred to as the Central Park of the city. The park offers walking and biking paths, along with several trails for visitors to explore. Additionally, it features an adventure park complete with rope courses, a children's play area, and a cozy coffee shop. For those who venture to the top of the hill within the park, they are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the city.
Gorica Park and its Adventure Park in Podgorica offer the perfect mix of relaxation and excitement. Nestled in lush greenery, this urban oasis is ideal for a leisurely stroll or a day of outdoor fun. The adventure park, with its zip lines, climbing routes, and obstacle courses, provides a thrilling experience for both kids and adults. Whether you’re looking to challenge yourself or simply enjoy the serenity of nature, Gorica Park has something for everyone. A fantastic escape in the heart of the city!

Such an excellent forest park, walking distance from the city. Paved and rocky paths, adventure-style setup too. And a climbing wall ! No vehicles inside the park itself. Cool on a hot day, high enough a hill to get good breezes. And cool in the other sense in any weather ...
Christopher M — Google review
Wonderful place to take a long walk or run. It is on a hill and when the weather is nice, it's a nice activity for couples, friends or families. There is a cafe, that is nice to take a break. There are nice views from Gorica. I've been a few times and it is one of m favorite places of Podgorica.
Denise R — Google review
The best part of this city is Gorica Park. An absolutely beautiful oasis in the centre of the city. Full of paved trails, there are also hiking paths through the brush. At the highest point the views are amazing. There is an outdoor gym and a football field on top. Two cafe's, one at the entrance and the other about 1/3 the way up the hill. See native Hermann tortoises, plant species, beautiful big shade trees and lots of people out exercising. What an absolutely treasure this space is for the city, I hope they keep maintaining it as well as they currently are.
Carol D — Google review
Beautiful park, from the top you can enjoy a wonderful view.
Jomin N — Google review
We liked this big park on the hill in downtown Podgorica. The hill's name is Gorica and the city founded under that hill got its name Podgorica, which literally means 'Under the hill'. The park is located right on this relatively low hill (its height is about 130 meters) that combined with the rich evergreen vegetation creates a unique microclimate shading you in the hot summer and protecting from cold winds in winter. There's a great adventure park for kids over 4 years old. In October 2025 it still worked (7 Euro for a 4 year old), but some paths already looked worn out. It's still safe but needs attention. The path for adults looks abandoned and you can see only some remains of it. But the working paths are still good and kids love it. There's also a small playground and several cafes around. The park was planted with trees in the 20th century (before it had been just a grass hill), so there's a variety of trees including nice pines. By the entrance there's a beautiful St.George's church that is also worth visiting.
Artemiy K — Google review
Lovely city park with workout areas and multiple panorama viewpoints. Great on the morning or at sunset.
Kris P — Google review
Walking, running, cycling, dog strolls, have a drink and watch your kids play around with all the provided facilities they offer. Shaded place by the big trees covering all the place from the sun. A lot of activities for the children to play around and there are people watching them. There are some nice monuments around as well!

Located in a cave on Dajbabe hill, the Dajbabe Monastery is a Serbian Orthodox Christian monastery that was established in 1897. It is part of the Metropolitanate of Montenegro and the Littoral of the Serbian Orthodox Church. The monastery holds religious significance and is known for its unique setting inside a cave, making it an intriguing site to visit. While slightly off the beaten path, it offers a serene and peaceful atmosphere for visitors to explore.
I had the opportunity to visit Dajbabe Monastery and was deeply impressed by this unique spiritual place. Located on a quiet hill near Podgorica, the monastery radiates peace and a strong spiritual presence. What fascinated me the most was the interior of the church, carved into the rock – unusual and almost mystical, which makes this monastery truly stand out compared to others I’ve visited. The monks were kind and welcoming, willing to share the history and significance of the site. The surroundings are serene and full of natural beauty – perfect for prayer, reflection, or simply escaping the noise of everyday life. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking spiritual peace or looking to discover some of Montenegro’s hidden cultural gems. A heartfelt recommendation for every traveler – whether you're a believer, a history enthusiast, or just curious.

To get there you can use the bus, which takes about €1 but longer time or a taxi. The place is nice with an interesting history. It takes very little time to see. The souvenir shop was nice, with many religious stuff. The guy that attended was super super nice! I think is worth the trip of you are into churches.

We liked this place more than Ostrog monastery. Amazing church in a caves, no people, easy to arrive
Anna S — Google review
Nice place for a quick visit. Free entry. Free decent paved parking lot. There was car glass on the parking lot indicating break ins, so don't leave your important belongings behind in the car. Small but well maintained. Small souvenir shop. Like how they've done it with lighting a candle for only 20 eurocents. Be sure to check out the caves behind the altar in the room. Neatly done.

Very kind and welcoming people. A must visit place if you come to Podgorica. Just take bus line number 1 or get here by car.

Extremly beautiful monastery, you must visit it! Its free of charge, they have plenty of free parking and what you get its worth the trip!
Andreas-Robert T — Google review
The Dajbabe Monastery was dedicated to Uspenje Bogorodice or the Assumption of Mary, the monastery was founded in 1897. In the beginning, only the space of the cave was used as a sanctuary, with the plan to be expanded later with chapels. The visible part of the church is situated outside the cave, depicting a spacious entrance porch with two belfries. The Dajbabe Monastery also possesses a reliquary with the relics of St. Simeon Dajbabe.
Dmitriy A — Google review
From Podgorica there are no signs to this monastry whatsoever. You get there with narrow suburban road and there is nothing along the road that indicates an important landmark is nearby. Once there a house among hundreds of olive trees emerges, looking quite modern and uninteresting. Inside however there are impressive catacombs that hide a lot of history. A guy working in a shop was polite enough to give us 15-minute history lesson of the place.

Love this place! Great for walking, running and working out in the fresh air. A real lifesaver if you want to take a walk in summer - the trees provide shade and the heated ground smells awesome. Awesome view from the top of the hill.

This was my favourite destination during my stay in Podgorica. It was summer night and the streets uphill were crowded of Domestic people. Young and old were cycling, jogging and walking up and downhill. Long streets, very beautiful. There is a restaurant and small botanical garden, as well as Monument dedicated to Partisan (National WW2 hero) Awesome place to spend time with your friends and family. At night, amazing look over city

The Natural History Museum of Montenegro is a modest yet captivating attraction that showcases a diverse range of natural history displays, including native flora, insects, fossils, and wildlife. Situated in Podgorica, it stands out as one of the city's notable landmarks. Visitors can explore an array of informative exhibits while enjoying the museum's engaging atmosphere. Despite its size, this museum offers free admission and provides an enriching experience for all who visit.
This place was great, it's only small but it's also only 2 euros so it's definitely worth stopping by. We had a great time.
Luke G — Google review
Difficult to locate museum. Little to nothing inside. The presentation of the very few items was poorly executed. Noting is written in English, so you must utilize your translator function to its fullest on your DCD (smart phone). I am constantly amazed at how few curators of museums obtain an actual education from an accredited university and are employed yet do such a truly deplorable job. This is an excellent example of a missed opportunity.

it shows that the staff in doing their best, but it will be a long time to get to western museum level. still a nice visit for 1-2 hours with young children
Assaf G — Google review
On Saturday we had luck at 12:30. It was open till 2 p.m. without lunch break (13:00-13:30). It is a smaller museum, such an exposition of minerals, snakes, amphibians, butterflies, beetles, insects, birds and fish. The accompanying exhibition there was the history of tea, its cultivation and processing of varieties. The descriptions of the exhibits are only in the Cyrillic of the Montenegrin language... It was a good thing that I learned to read texts in azbuka during my elementary school. I have a recommendation to the museum: English descriptions for foreign tourists would also be great.
Miloslav O — Google review
Interesting museum, definitely worth seeing with family. Kids were jumping all over the place all the time. Not to much things to see that one could expect, but still was interesting to see what animals can be seen in Montenegro
Stefan T — Google review
Great museum, small but only costs 2€.Right now there is an exhibition about bees. There is no English text. There also was a little quiz to test your knowledge.
Johanno B — Google review
A quite small museum, but it costs only 2 Euro for adults to enter. They are closed for 30 min around 1 pm. No info in English except one sign where it says that it is forbidden to touch the glass in order to disturb the snakes :)

The stuffed animals in the photos are removed from the exhibition. There is only the spices exhibition which is not worth visiting. Entrance fee is 1€.

Podgorica City Stadium is a must-visit for sports fans in the capital city of Montenegro. As the home of the national football team, it always buzzes with electrifying energy during matches. While some visitors have noted issues like a bad pitch and dusty seats, others appreciate its reasonably sized layout and glorious views from the west stand. The stadium also offers amenities such as bars and a souvenir shop.
Good stadium. We walked to it. Has a club shop that is open Monday - Saturday. If you go to the back of the stadium there are some steps you can climb to look in the stadium.

Mick C — Google review
Stadium is quite old, but the vibes here during football games are really good! We enjoyed 2 games during our vacation in Montenegro 👌 Tickets are typically very reasonable priced (5 euro) and can be purchased prior to the game. In the stadion facilities are basic (no food - only water, coke and popcorn can be purchased).

Nice reasonably sized stadium with glorious views from the west stand. Only issue was very dusty seats and lack of open club shop to buy merch.

The Starodoganjska Mosque, situated in the heart of Podgorica's old town, is a captivating archaeological site with a rich historical background. Surrounded by narrow historical streets and alleys, this mosque exudes an air of mystery and allure. It stands as one of the few preserved ancient monuments in the old town and continues to host active church life.

Independence Square, located in the heart of downtown Podgorica, Montenegro, is a popular destination for tourists. The government quarter surrounds the square, featuring the city hall and the Parliament of Montenegro. Opposite these buildings stands the Palace of King Nikola, which houses the Center for Contemporary Art showcasing significant works by Montenegrin artists and sculptors. The square comes to life at night with children playing and businesses staying open late.
We visited in the evening to avoid the daytime heat. The atmosphere was fantastic, with restaurants all around and people playing music and putting on small shows. It’s the perfect place to spend a pleasant evening.
Pramod M — Google review
Podgorica isn't a place for tourists. They mostly visit Kotor Bay or the coast instead of the capital. At some point I can understand why but Podgorica has something very different that is worth to explore in my opinion, even if you just spend 2 hours in this city. But I can't believe that this is supposed to be the glorious city centre. This place looks horrible and you can't find anything photogenic. In my opinion it's a shame to present a place like this to the public in the capital city of a country.
Oliver L — Google review

Bus station
The Podgorica Main Bus Station serves as a convenient hub for travelers looking to explore Montenegro and beyond. Buses depart regularly, with journeys typically lasting between 2 to 2.5 hours. Upon arrival, you have the option of taking a taxi or hopping on local buses to reach nearby attractions like Gorica Park; taxis take about 10-15 minutes and are quite affordable. While the station is modest in size, it offers essential amenities such as a café and restrooms.
It's a small but sweet bus terminal compared to the capital, it's quite quiet, you can buy your tickets from the vending machine or the counter, there's an idea market and a bakery nearby. You can go to Kosovo from here and there is also free wifi service.
Betül C — Google review
Scam alert! Echoing the reviews of others, this station is run by degenerate scammers who charge a printing fee and ‘station service fee’ before they will allow you onto the platform to board your bus. I can’t remember the last time I needed a paper ticket. In fact, my booking clearly states the digital ticket is valid. I informed the manager how corrupt this operation is and he asked security to silence me. Bad experience in what is known as the most boring city in Europe. Podgorica and Montenegro in general have appalling tourism infrastructure. It’s no wonder people don’t come here.
MCS12Methodic — Google review
I am writing this to complain about rude and racist staff. I bought a bus ticket at Podgorica bus station to go to Podgorica airport around 7am, on 16 July 2025. I came out to the bus platform from ticket office and I saw a young male staff member (about 25-35 years old) who spoke English well. I asked him, "How long does it take for this bus to get to the airport?" but he did not answer my simple question and acted in a racist manner with facial expressions and gestures. I asked him politely and I did not ask anything other than this question. Therefore, there was no reason for the staff not to answer my question and acted in a racist manner with facial expressions and gestures. I travel the world every month. So I know from experience what kind of racist behaviors, expressions, and words Europeans use toward Asians. therefore the young male staff’s expressions and actions were clearly racist. I complained to a middle-aged male staff member with the young male staff member. "This young male staff was very rude to me and he acted racist. Therefore, I will never use this company’s bus again". The young male staff could not say anything to me as I complain because he knew very well himself what kind of racist behavior how he has been racist towards me. Also, the facial expressions and tone of voice of the lady staffs selling tickets are coercive, as they were possessing some kind of powerful position. Therefore, I will posting to the Asian travel community that this is a rude and racist company and advise them not to use this bus comapny and use the train instead. The bus company’s staff do not know that their salaries are earned from passengers and tourists and the employees do not care if the passengers move to the train because if the company’s income decreases then the owner will lose income, but staff’s salaries will not be affected. Therefore, the company’s president should educate employees about kindness and customer service then the company’s president income would not decrease. James

The all bus stations in Montenegro and Podgorica bus station are very bad because the buses never Come in time. 2-3 hours Come late and there is almost nothing in terminal. Also the workers, drivers are very rude. They never answer to any body. I met with English, french, chineese, american tourists during my time in Montenegro and they all had problems. Historical landmark
Sahat Kula, the oldest neighborhood in Podgorica, reflects its 400-year history as the heart of an Ottoman Turkish town. The blocky clock tower, built in the 17th century, stands as a beautiful landmark. Although it is located a bit far from the city center and may not attract many visitors, it offers an interesting stone look and is surrounded by a pretty park.
Beautiful clock tower constructed during 17. Century. It is a bit far from city center and not many people are visiting it.

Cute tower, with a couple of old local cafes next to it. What you see is what you get, however it survived the bombings of the ww2 and is historic, worth checking out if you have a meander through the old town
Alexa M — Google review

Tim H — Google review
The Clock Tower is a nice “must-see” for a short visit in Podgorica if you’re interested in history and a little old-town ambience. I’d rate it 4 out of 5 stars. It does exactly what you want: gives you a historic landmark, a photo opportunity, and a link to the city’s past — but it won’t fill a long afternoon by itself. If I were visiting Podgorica, I’d plan perhaps 20-30 minutes at the tower, then stroll around the surrounding Old Town area, maybe stop for a coffee at a nearby café.

(Translated by Google) This is truly the perfect place for kids of all ages! The space is spacious, safe and nicely decorated, with modern toys and props that encourage creativity and physical activity. The staff is very kind, attentive and treats children very well. It is especially great that the playroom has different themed zones – from areas for quiet games to dynamic corners for climbing and running, so every child can find something they like. The organization of the birthday party is also top-notch, with carefully designed activities that keep the children entertained throughout the celebration. I recommend!

Niagara is a stunning destination that never fails to amaze visitors. The breathtaking sunsets here are truly a sight to behold, but timing your visit is crucial, as the waterfall's flow can vary throughout the year. While some seasons may leave it looking stagnant, there are still plenty of reasons to explore this beautiful spot. Access from nearby Podgorica is straightforward and affordable, making it an easy getaway for those seeking a refreshing escape during hot summer days.
A beautiful place for visitors to Podgorica. Easy and cheap to reach by cab. In the hot summer you can't always call it Niagara, but it's absolutely recommendable for a quick cool down

It's an amazing place with the specific atmosphere, where u can feel the power of nature. Here is equiped view point, but there are have options to come more near to waterfall by walking. Definitely recommend for people who like to see the wanders of nature and take fresh air.

We recently took a tour, and fortunately, it was only about a half-hour drive. However, when we arrived, there was no water to be seen, which was disappointing. We should have done more research beforehand. Because of this, I’m only giving two stars—it probably would have been more if there had been water. Afterward, we visited the nearby restaurant, which was quite nice and offered good value for money. I ordered the trout and was surprised to receive two on the plate, which was a bit too much. It’s not ideal for vegetarians; I expected more options. Montenegro’s cuisine, in general, is very meat-heavy and not particularly remarkable for vegetarians.

Njegosev Park is a pleasant green space in the center of Podgorica, offering a peaceful atmosphere for a quiet walk or a break from the city. The park is well-kept, with clean paths and plenty of trees providing shade. The park boasts stunning views of the city and mountains, with playgrounds, exercise equipment, and sports facilities available at its summit. Visitors can enjoy leisurely walks while taking in the beautiful panorama of Podgorica or engage in various outdoor activities such as table tennis and basketball.
One of the most unique gym experiences I have ever had. The gym is located in the middle of the park and lots of rusty equipment that we can use. Close to the gym you have some pingpong tables - although you have to bring some rackets

I entered from "City Taxi 19711", there is a wide gravel path. I kept to the left into a more narrow path up to the outdoor gym. There are also two tables for table tennis and a few benches there. (Translated by Google) Podgorica is a city of a turquoise river and emerald parks (said poetically, and apparently there will be a new poem soon ;-) And among this variety of luxurious parks, it’s difficult for me to name one, the very best. But... The Royal Park is “royal” because it must be special. I can't help but highlight it. It is beautiful even though it is very small. Located in the very heart of my beloved, now hometown on Moraca, next to the Hilton Hotel, every time it takes me into its tender embrace, full of comfort, coolness, and relaxation. There are several stone busts here, which I have yet to become familiar with in more detail (one was erected in honor of a certain Azerbaijani figure. I heard that representatives of Azerbaijan helped reconstruct the park). There is a nice fountain, which, unfortunately, can rarely be seen with spectacular splashes of water jets). At a stone table in the small veranda you can play board games or snack on sweet palachinki from the nearby Pinocchio kiosk. But most importantly (yes, yes, don’t be surprised!) - here there is, it seems, the only free public toilet in the city. It's very clean. Many thanks to the ordinary employees and organizers for this. Thanks to the city and the organizations that finance the maintenance of the public toilet and the park as a whole. I love Queen's Park. I love Podgorica.
