The Alaska Native Heritage Center offers a comprehensive experience of native culture, featuring exhibits, films, and demonstrations. The center showcases traditional dwellings in a woodland area, constructed with local timbers and adorned with whale bones. Visitors can immerse themselves in the heritage through regular exhibitions, events, performances of local dance, language, and cooking. Located just west of downtown Anchorage, the center hosts workshops and shows ranging from world music gigs to film festivals for indigenous productions.
This is a MUST SEE! I visited with my two teen sons, and they truly enjoyed it. We caught the demonstration of the Eskimo games. You need to see it to understand the level of skill they have. We have been back in NC for a week, and I've seen my son's in our gym trying to do the high kick. They also did a demonstration of a harpoon throw. We tried it but we're not very good. It was a great learning experience. The houses really intrigued me. It was not what I expected. I encourage everyone to visit and learn the history of that region. The walking tour was perfect because our guide shared stories of her region, which was the most northern area. Each guide is from a different area. We saw the dancers, and it was nice to hear songs in their native language as some of the regional languages have been lost due to colonization. They offer military and senior discounts.
Kimberly G — Google review
The museum is small but full of knowledge in an interactive way. I think our favourite part was talking to the crafters in the lobby. Each had wonderful stories about their projects that helped me learn about their lives in the north. We loved chatting with Marg the elder. We also saw different types of lodgings and a traditional dance. That all and Marg best of luck from your two Canadian friend in you wedding.

We had my daughter’s quinceanera here and it was just so amazing. Everyone had such a good time and they opened the back for the quests to walk around. From start to finish the entire staff was amazing and made this a memorable event. The event was such a success we now have people asking about points of contacts and pricing. If you are looking into places to host your special event don’t pass up your opportunity to have it here.
Pablo G — Google review
Had a wonderful time learning about the native culture. It is a great place to learn about the culture and unfortunately what was done to stifle it in the past. The demonstration of the native games and dance was great. The tour of the various types of dwellings that were built across such a wide range of climate and conditions was enlightening. Shout to to Zach our guide who was not only very knowledgeable but super entertaining as well. I highly recommend a stop here.
Larry R — Google review
If you are seriously interested in learning about Alaska, you just visit this center. The gallery about the various people groups is fascinating along with a timeline of settlement of the territories. The hard truths are presented well to make us all think and reflect. There are informative films and demonstrations in the main building that were very educational. I highly recommend taking a guided tour of the various areas so you can learn as much as possible about the various settlements and ways of life.
Jonathan K — Google review
Awesome cultural experience, they have multiple native experiences such as story telling, songs, and dances by natives, so much info on the local tribes and history. Great place to visit and learn about the real alaska from the people who know best, many local craft options for sale as well.
Jennifer H — Google review
While the exhibit gallery is fairly limited, the tour of 5 different tribal homes and the several life shows they offered were quite interesting. Takes 3-4 hours if you do the guided tour and one or two of the shows.

The Heritage Center is a beautiful place with so much information historical and modern. It is well laid out and the performers and story tellers brought much to life. The Heritage free shuttle was right on time to bring us from downtown to the center.

Established in 1977, Dimond Center is a family-owned shopping center in Anchorage, Alaska. Spanning about 728,000 square feet and covering 8.5 blocks, it is the largest enclosed mall in the state. The center offers a range of activities including a bowling alley, food court, ice rink, and movie theater.
Nice mall! There’s a skating rink, bowling alleys, movies theater,YMCA, food court and lots of various stores. This mall was very clean with some shops up for lease. But there’s a bunch of your common mall stores too. I would say if you are visiting Anchorage, and have a later flight. Stop by and spend some time here. It’s a great place to hang out, besides being at the airport.
Trl1971 — Google review
A bit rundown, but worth visiting during the Fur Rendezvous weekend. Indigenous artists showcased incredible arts and crafts—rich in culture, tradition, and heritage. As a non-Alaskan, it was eye-opening. The galleria also has a few eateries and an ice rink.
Christian N — Google review
Concern about security staff behavior. Was their for a couple hours running errands and getting food and originally pentesting mall digital security. Noticed the female security with colored hair was surrounded by highschool boys, in the food court and walking as well as sitting for extrend d period of time at the second floor bathroom hall above the ice rink. Kids talking about their parents as I walked by. If they are not kids then it's just bad employee behavior. Either way. Security needs work. Both physically and digitally.
Lank's L — Google review
Nice and good mall, we went to gift store and it is definitely good collection. Got restaurants and massage place. This mall also got ice skating. Best part is it is indoor mall. So rain or snow, good one to go for
Rahul G — Google review
Anything you need basically you can find it here. The location is close with Walmart and Best Buy. They also have a cinema! it’s just because they don’t really have many options for restaurants, unless you like Italian food from Olive Garden and American food from Chilli, you need to consider any other places to eat.
Rohmania N — Google review
Ah, the Dimond Center Mall. A monument to man’s endless desire for more — more food, more noise, more shiny trinkets to fill the void inside. You walk through those glass doors and it’s like stepping into another world — one where every soul’s chasing something they can’t quite name. But I’ll admit… there’s a strange kind of beauty to it. The laughter echoing through the halls, the smell of pretzels and coffee in the air, the flicker of neon lights off polished floors. It’s chaos, yes, but the kind that makes you feel alive for a brief, fleeting moment. You can find anything in that place — from cheap thrills to fine meals, from families sharing smiles to folks just trying to escape the cold. It’s civilization at its most honest: loud, flawed, and full of life. Four stars. Not perfect, but then again… what in this world ever is? — Dutch van der Linde

We went on a Friday, it was still fun, but apparently there’s less than half the usual vendors. The pictures below show the huge empty area that is supposed to be full! We were disappointed at how few stalls there were. There were maybe 20 in all, and for a long while we were the only buyers, which might explain the lack of booths. It was mostly jewelry, with a smattering of antler art and t shirts and a few (overpriced) food vendors. They said Saturday is the best day, I’d definitely go then if you can!
Sheri M — Google review
Wow, they've really run this straight into the ground. It's not even a glimpse of what used to be. Not a single vegetable, pickle or any market stuff. Just cheap Chinese crap with two food vendors. Embarrassing.
Thehuston — Google review
Readi g the details on the website I expected there to be more booths. I think perhaps because of the rain while we were there many vendors didn't show up. There are some local artists and makers, and some items that also seem mass produced.
Angela S — Google review
It is always a treat to visit this rain or shine. So much to say but I'll sum it up with photos.
Matt H — Google review
Went on a Saturday, and it wasn't near as large as most of the descriptions made it appear. Quite a few craft vendors, with some being local and others selling mass-produced goods. It has a pretty good selection of food trucks and stands at pretty high prices. Not much in the way of produce or fresh goods, especially produce.
Jay W — Google review
This market is huge which is nice but unfortunately there aren't many booths for local produce. There are many booths for things like crafts, jewelry, photography, knives etc, and lots of food vendors, but it's not much of a "farmer's market". Seems like it's more geared toward tourists looking for Alaskan souvenirs.

The Ulu Factory is a cabin-like store and knife factory located on the edge of the Knik Arm waterside in downtown Anchorage. It has been producing traditional ulu knives for over 25 years and also serves as a heritage museum. Visitors can watch craftsmen create these knives using traditional methods, explore an on-site gift shop, and enjoy a garden area.
Awesome staff we’re willing to walk you through very cool tool of history. If you’re into knives hunting or just looking for a cool new kitchen tool, I highly recommend this place. I’m down from my home in Fairbanks and had to stop in and see how the magic was made. I was not in the slightest bit disappointed. 10 out of 10🤌🤌
Billbo S — Google review
Stopped by the Ulu Factory next to our hotel and really enjoyed it. The staff were knowledgeable about the knives' history and craft, and you can watch them being made. The shop is a bit touristy beyond the knives, but it’s worth it for authentic Alaskan Ulus.

Ulu factory that show case how to make ulu knife. Unfortunately at the time of our visit we can only see thru windows. They did have a young staff showing how to use the knife. Free 30 mins parking is available on the side of the building.
Wind N — Google review
Cute store where you can watch the artisans working on the ulu knives. As expected things were pretty high priced, but there was a huge selection to choose from for gift items and souvenirs.
Amy S — Google review
A very cool place to look through the windows and see the knives being made. Beautiful product in several grades and sizes. 5 in, 6 in, and 8 in knives and small medium and large choping "bowls" . Basic knives to hand carved bone handle knives. Plenty of other "Alaska Only" items for sale too. Easy to walk to from downtown (take "C" street to 1st street and look for the building).
John T — Google review
Great little shop with awesome gifts. Staff at the factory were very informative and did a great job explaining the history and uses of the Ulu.
JOHN H — Google review
Fun place to go! Lots of parking. Next to Ship Creek. Looks like new public restrooms are being finished. Lots of great gifts, locally made items, and souvenirs. Tons of Ulus and we could even watch them make them.
Amy C — Google review
Good place to visit and get a souvenir. One can get custom engraving on the blade. The knife and the cutting bowl are pretty good for certain dishes. Prices are very decent as well. Parking is plenty and staff is good except the person on the reception. Looked like he was not interested in job at all, not welcoming or making tour interesting.

The Alaska Aviation Museum offers a fascinating journey through the state's aviation history, showcasing over 25 vintage aircraft, a flight simulator, and a theater. Visitors can witness the restoration of historic planes and engage with knowledgeable docents who share their experiences as bush pilots. Notable exhibits include the first plane to land on Denali in the 1930s and a restored 1931 Fairchild Pilgrim aircraft.
Right outside the aviation museum are float planes taking off, landing, birthed, and being worked on. Inside the museum are some beautifully restored planes to see. Many displays to look at, both indoors and outdoors. You are able to get up close to the exhibits. You can spend some time here looking at everything.

Nice air museum. They do a nice feature on Alaska's part and battle in WWII. There is some focus on flying in the tough terrain and weather. There is a more modern Boeing you can walk inside of. There is also a watch tower you can view the lake and watch sea plans land & take off. The museum is not very big but has interesting exhibits to offer. Its price appropriately. Proximity to the airport makes it a great stop before your flight. Overall I would recommend.
Toni S — Google review
Great museum, highly recommended! Three large hangers and an outside lot packed with aircraft and appurtenances with so much information. Fun for the whole family, ages 5 - 85, we all had a great time! Special shout out to Angie for taking great care of us, providing a wheelchair for grandpa and helping us find perfect souvenirs, thank you!

Great little museum. Definitely kid friendly with multiple thinks and places for kids to play or be hands on and clear boundaries for what is not hands on or for play. Great way to spend some time as a family.

The annual fly over event on Saturday, June 29, 2025 was a very warm and beautiful day to be outside.
Rebecca C — Google review
Awesome little museum! You can see all kinds of older airplanes and learn so much about aviation history. At the end of all the hangars, you can climb up a viewing tower and watch seaplanes take off and land right from the lake. We spent about 2 hours there and I could have easily stayed longer and read more of the info. Only thing I would change is a better labeling and titling of the written information, as it wasn't always clear how things were grouped together.
Colleen C — Google review
Unbelievable amount of super amazing artifacts. Great attention to the aviation battles of the Aleutian Islands in WWII, which I was not aware of. Super great staff and curation. I really didn’t know what to expect, but I walked away very satisfied. They even fired up a vintage float plane and got it airborne from Lake Hood, right behind the museum! How cool is that?!? Such a great experience. Highly recommend!

Ship Creek in downtown Anchorage, Alaska is a unique urban king salmon fishery where locals often rush after work to try their luck at catching these prized fish, which can weigh over 30 pounds. The area has historical significance as it was first settled during the construction of the Alaska Railroad in 1915. Ship Creek offers a convenient escape from the city's hustle and bustle, allowing anglers to cast for king or silver salmon within sight of office high-rises.
Biden’s inflated economy and high gas prices led my son and me to fish here more; and as a result we have had some good times here. Disclaimer: no bait was used to catch the fish pictured below in the photo's. Democrats inflated economy has driven up the prices at the local bait shack so hooks and beads must suffice.
Pablo G — Google review
Its ships creek! Where else can you catch salmon right in town. Just be mindful of the homeless in the area
Jason M — Google review
It’s such a great place to not only take in the views but also to catch ( or try at least) fish without even leaving town
Scott R — Google review
Went here because it’s salmon season. Saw a lonely fisherman and not only a single fish…
Leticia F — Google review
I have been fishing this creek every summer for the last 10 years. I love it! 5 minutes from work. 10 minutes from home. Over the years I have learned how to ease myself into the crowd at the popular spots and when/where else to go when the crowd is too dense. Beside a few inconsiderate actors every now and then, the creek provides the best place to catch king salmon, silver salmon, and a lot of pinks in a city. It's nice to always have a crowd fishing the creek. It's saddening to see people trashing the place as well....

While it may be smaller than some other malls, its cozy atmosphere allows you to explore without feeling overwhelmed.
This mall has had many changes recently and most were for the better. Nice variety of stores with some still going through the change. Definitely worth checking out. They still need to fix the food court.

I went to kawaii nail bar for the first time together with a friend. It’s her regular place. I was hesitant to go, because I’ll be the first to tell you I’m very picky. I get the same French tip but it’s hard to find a nail tech that gets the lines just the way I like. My pedicure was pretty close to perfect. Was a little more expensive than other places, but it’s not a big deal if the service is good. It was $94 plus tip. I started to feel so sleepy and relaxed. The water warmed up multiple times throughout my service. The chair massagers were nice, not too rough or too soft. Just right. There are a lot of other compliments I could give their staff and shop, but it would be easier to just give them a shot yourself.

Clean well cared for mall on the smaller side but a decent selection of stores.

I can't understand why this mall doesn't do better considering it's location. It's like a ghost town and has been for a long time. The REI store or Planet Fitness have more people in it than the entire mall. Most people seem to go to the Dimond Mall which is full of good stores and restaurants. Since there are so many businesses in midtown, this mall should be doing better.

It's still a good place to stop in, and Shop Mall isn't quite full yet, but there has been progress I noticed, and REI is the bomb😁

Love REI! Went for a multi day hiking backpack. The associate who helped me was so patient and knowledgeable , helping me to adjust multiple packs and loading them with some weight so I could walk around the store to try them until I found my perfect fit. Our cashier was also amazing! She was so friendly and patient, answering all our questions. It's definitely one of my favorite stores!

This is a one stop shop for all your outdoors needs. Climbing, biking, kayaking, and everything that goes with those activities. Food , fire, and functionality for every one of their shelves. I really wish I had one in my home town. Also a repair area for bikes and kayaks.

REI is a must-visit in Midtown. The store is huge with a wide range of outdoor gear, and the shopping environment is very comfortable. Staff are friendly and professional, and the return process is simple and hassle-free. Definitely one of the best places in Alaska to shop for outdoor equipment.

I’ll start with the bike shop my favorite part! The technicians are amazing and the shop is clean! They saved me from trouble fixing my bike (fast quality long lasting repair!) The employees are always extremely friendly and helpful! Everything is easy to find and priced reasonably for Alaska! The camping/ cooking sections are always stocked well! We recently purchased a propane tank that was cheaper than Amazon! The padding section is always stocked with rad paddles and today I found a large assortment of colored leashes! The return policy and process is seamless always considering the customer before the store! The solar and batteries section is fully stocked with great options and accessories! I purchased my first solar panel kit yea x I’m very satisfied with everything! We love coming here as a family, it’s always fun and safe for kids to look around together without parents! I’m sure that on the future our kids will shop here weekly! Customers life! Noveske family

This store is much bigger than what they used to be after the changes. Still overall a great store for outdoor equipment and supplies. Would often come here for camping equipment that has served me well and now looking for shoes for hiking and trail jogging. While looking, the staff has been very welcoming and helpful in finding shoe options for my needs and requirements. Despite the pricing, I would recommend going here for camping, running/hiking, biking, and other activity equipment.

My boyfriend and I are in Alaska for the first time, and stopped in to get bear spray for the hikes we are planning on doing. Richard and Bombshell were incredibly nice and very helpful. Great spot to stock up on outdoor equipment for an Alaskan adventure- my wife and I picked up a pair of neoprene gloves each (very reasonably priced) and a can of bear spray. The fur collection includes mink, beaver, lynx, and fox among others. Visitors can witness the meticulous handcrafting process of various items such as coats and slippers on the upper floor. Customers praise the exceptional products and outstanding customer service provided by Shani and her team.
Walking into David Green Master Furrier in Anchorage is always a delightful experience. It was so wonderful to see David and Shani Laifer Green today. Haley helped me find the perfect item to wear this winter. If you are looking for something both chic and warm, stop in and see their array of fur jackets and garments—perfect for the Alaskan winters! I found the perfect fur piece for the Rondy Festival this winter.

This is THE PLACE TO GO!! Exquisitely beautiful and terrifically crafted fur coats. Excellent quality, well sourced pelts. Family owned and operated since opening. Knowledgeable and friendly with service that goes above and beyond. Extremely competitive prices for their products. The service they provide goes above and beyond. In this day and age, it’s hard to find anyplace than has such integrity and commitment to customers. They clean, repair and store furs from all over the country for very reasonable prices. My mother bought a swing mink (ranch, female pelts) in the mid-80s and wore it every winter day she lived in Anchorage. (she moved to Hawaii in 2000). My sister is still wearing the mink today, 50 years later!! (It looks almost new, still!) I would give them a 10 if possible! 👍🏻👏🏻🎉😇

Outstanding Furriers and ethical business people. In my teenage years in the 70’s I trapped, Marten, Wolverine & Beaver, across Cook Inlet on the West Fork of the Yetna River. Couldn't leave Alaska without getting an artic fox pelt. First day in town, was waiting for family and Haley was kind enough to show me the extensive selection of pelts in their vault. When I came back a week later, just a couple hours out from my flight home, I was back to get a fox pelt. The employees were super friendly and patient and remembered me from a week earlier. Great products, great service, and a nice ending to my trip seeing America's Last Frontier.

I purchased a fur coat from them last year and, due to my negligence, tore one of the arms. Shani and team were quick to respond and helped me get my coat repaired and back to me in no time. It's as good as new, and I can not thank them enough for everything. 100% recommend shopping with them, in-person or online, and going to them for all of your fur needs!

Amazing banana foster egg roll. Duck was good but not enough fried rice to accompany it. My friends scallop mac and cheese was great too but the scallops were kind of small. Overall delicious, and amazing service.

Over the top food and drinks, artfully crafted to mimic an Upscale LA or NY experience. Very nice for special occasions. Modern food, incredibly attentive service with stellar recommendations. amazing service and food! i went in for a solo dinner right when they opened and the staff was very sweet and attentive. i started with the tuna over crispy rice and it was very flavorful and a generous amount of tuna. the rice was the perfect texture, crispy but just soft enough to pair with the tuna. the steak frites was delicious. my steak cooked perfectly rare and the fries tasted very fresh. the banana foster cheesecake egg rolls were the perfect dessert. like actually insane once the server put them on my table it only took her like 3 minutes to take my cleared plate. i ordered them with vanilla ice cream which i highly suggest.

The dish I got was the scallop Mac and cheese and what a treat. Not nearly as overtly oily as it might suggest with the addition of peppers. My aunt got the green curry which she loved. Fair warning the hot sauce they make in house is HOT but so flavorful. Fantastic evening. Worth the money.

Sullivan's Steakhouse is a delightful dining destination nestled in the vibrant downtown Anchorage, conveniently located within the same building as the 5th Avenue Mall, making it easy to find parking. This steakhouse chain offers an enticing menu filled with succulent beef and fresh seafood, all served in a stylish atmosphere complemented by live music. While many consider it a romantic spot for special occasions, some guests have noted that it can get quite crowded and noisy at times.
Jessica was a fantastic server! It was a great place to celebrate a birthday and wonderful first experience here. Will definitely be back. They also honored all of the special requests put in the comments when making the online reservation. The live music was super nice as well.

We had a great experience at Sullivan’s in Anchorage. The atmosphere was lively yet upscale, and the food didn’t disappoint—we enjoyed a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts, all expertly prepared and full of flavor. Our server, Jessica, was stellar—attentive, friendly, and on top of every detail. She really elevated the whole evening. Highly recommend for a night out or special occasion.

I don’t usually write reviews, but our experience at Sullivan’s was so exceptional that I had to take a moment to recognize it—especially because of our incredible server, Eugene. From the moment we were seated, Eugene made us feel welcome, comfortable, and genuinely taken care of. He struck the perfect balance between being attentive and giving us space to enjoy our evening. His knowledge of the menu was impressive, and his recommendations were spot-on. I ordered the lobster, and my date had the lamb—both were absolutely phenomenal. The flavors were rich, the presentation was beautiful, and everything was cooked to perfection. But what really elevated the experience was Eugene’s service. He anticipated our needs before we even had to ask, made great drink pairing suggestions, and brought such a warm, professional energy to the table that it honestly made our night. Eugene didn’t just provide good service—he provided an experience. If you’re going to Sullivan’s, ask for Eugene. You’ll be glad you did!

Sullivan’s was the perfect spot to celebrate a milestone birthday with family! Jessica was a fabulous server! The food was amazing (per usual). Three and a half hours enjoying each other’s company was the best!

Only reason I gave food 4 was had to ask them to cook my filet longer, asked for med rare and came out rare. And there were still lobster shells in the Mac and cheese. Didn't expect something crunchy in Mac and cheese. Servers are very attentive and on the spot, very polite and helpful. Was apologizing for the meat. Otherwise food was full of flavor and alot of it. When it came out I thought... That's it. But then couldn't finish it. The lobster Mac and cheese was creamy and tasty. Hubby had rib eye and loaded potato, seasoning was good and his was cooked just the way he likes it.

We had an incredible experience at Sullivan’s Steakhouse thanks to our amazing waitress, Jessica. From the moment we sat down, she made us feel welcome and taken care of. Her attention to detail was outstanding — our drinks were always full, she timed each course perfectly, and she knew the menu inside and out. Jessica gave great recommendations, and everything she suggested was absolutely delicious. What stood out most was her warm personality and genuine enthusiasm. She struck the perfect balance between professionalism and friendliness, making our evening feel both special and relaxed. Exceptional service like hers really elevates the entire dining experience. Jessica is the kind of server who turns a good meal into a memorable night out. We’ll definitely be asking for her next time we visit Sullivan’s!
Leisha A — Google review
From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warmth and elegance that sets the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between cozy and sophisticated, making it ideal for both intimate dinners and celebratory gatherings. The live pianist really added to the atmosphere. The menu is a masterpiece—every dish is crafted with precision and passion. The flavors are vibrant, the presentation is stunning, and the ingredients speak of freshness and quality. Standouts include the cheesesteak eggrolls, which is a harmonious blend of textures and tastes that will leave you savoring every bite. It should be available as an entree! The service is impeccable. The staff is attentive without being intrusive, knowledgeable about the menu, and genuinely committed to making your experience exceptional. Our server, Michael, made the experience so much more enjoyable, he is obviously passionate about his craft. His wine knowledge is extraordinary, demonstrated in detail, with his recommended pairings, and entertaining us with the wine room details. Hunter also made an impression on us. He is personable, professional, and adept at "reading the room." His level of personality and joviality perfectly matched our table. Maria was also kind enough to take time to stop by our table to say hello and to check on us. She made sure we were enjoying our meal thoroughly, and that the service was up to her standards. She was equally enjoyable. We felt like the level of attentiveness was appropriate, all of the staff were helpful and friendly, and the food. My God, the FOOD! It was glorious. Every bite was thought-out, immaculately presented, and so delicious. The Executive Chef even came out to say hello. I didn't catch his name, but he was wearing the most festive bow! The pièce de ré·sis·tance was the dessert cocktail. It was presented in a glass smoking box, the smoke had the distinct smell of a campfire on a cold winter's evening. The presentation was a performance all on its own. Whether you’re a seasoned foodie or simply looking for a memorable meal, this restaurant delivers on every front. It’s not just dining—it’s an experience worth repeating, and worth every penny.

Haute Quarter Grill is a contemporary American seafood restaurant in Anchorage with a relaxed atmosphere. Chef Alex uses fresh seasonal Alaska ingredients to create unique dishes that are sure to please any taste-buds. The menu features items such as beer battered halibut chunks, blackened halibut caesar salad, and Alaskan king crab legs.
This was our absolute favourite eating spot while in Anchorage. Really great restaurant with a nice bustling atmosphere. There’s outdoor seating on the sidewalk, and seating inside around the bar by the entrance. The main dining area has slightly raised booth seating all down the one side along the wall - these are the best seats in the house IMHO. Service was super friendly and excellent- they knew the menu well and helped us order the best dishes. The fish tacos were sublime! The blue cheese walnut salad was heavenly. The kabobs were just sensational, served with a beautiful risotto. The stunning Peanut Butter Pie was just as good as the rest of the meal. It was rich and generously sized so perfect for sharing. We loved this place and everything about it! Highly recommended.

Cozy atmosphere, attentive workers, great music that fits the setting, tasty cocktails. Food as A1! This is what fresh seafood tastes like. My husband has surf and turf with crab. I have the smoked salmon pasta. We shared appetizers. So delicious, nothing disappointed. Thank you for a great experience!
Sareya T — Google review
This place sounds like it would be a fine dining experience by the name and the storefront; however, it is a surprisingly casual establishment. This worked in my favor because I had been hiking all day and still had my boots on. This place has close to fine dining prices though. We had the halibut and chips and the daily special which was blackened fresh halibut with rice and a strawberry salsa. The food was great overall though the daily special seemed somewhat lacking in flavor for the price of $50. The presentation was great as well as the textures, freshness, and portion size. I don’t think it was blackened enough maybe? The flavor was like strawberry scented air. The halibut and chips however was excellent. It’s hard to go wrong with fried food but the batter was on point. The service was also top notch. Our waitress was knowledgeable and timed her follow ups well. We did not wait an unreasonable amount of time on our food. The main downside is the layout. If you don’t have a reservation, they put you in a “walk in” table or the bar. They are right next to each other. I do not really ever want to wrap up my day in close proximity to drunk people. We had to share our walk in table with another couple who only stayed for drinks. They eventually started making out with each other at the table. The couple at the other walk in table across from me were so drunk they were spilling the menus on the floor. The walk in tables have six chairs each which don’t leave much elbow room, so it was an uncomfortable experience.

This is my new go-to date night restaurant! The atmosphere is warm with lights not too bright and clean. Good for fancy date nights or celebrations. I cant say enough about the food! Very delicious! We had oysters and bread for an appetizer and it was fresh and tasty! We also had ribeye, it was juicy and tender. For dessert we had melted chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. Everything was worth our money! Give it a try you will not regret.

This is a must try if you are visiting Anchorage! My family and I decided to go here since it was on DDD and the food was incredible. The spicy chicken gnocchi and creole dip were our favorites. Our server was an absolute gem and was incredibly attentive and helpful, especially since we were unable to make reservations ahead of time (highly recommend getting a reservation though). The lemon drop cocktail is also delicious!

Was kind of in a rut restaurant wise so decided to shake things up and try Haute Quarter Grill. Man oh man was it good. My wife loved her mango mojito, and she never drinks. The crab spinach artichoke dip was insane. The halibut fish and chips was delicious. The batter was light yet flavorful. I had the special (filet with bernaise sauce and king crab meat) and I loved it. The peanut butter pie was the best I've had maybe ever. Server was attentive and friendly. I'll definitely frequent this place!
Rickey E — Google review
The food was absolutely delicious. The menu was the perfect length and mix of options. Our waitress was so very helpful and professional. We had four in our party and we had three apps: oysters (favorite ones were the strawberry), crab and artichoke dip, and ahi tuna. We all tried each and couldn't agree on our favorite because we loved them all. For dinner, two of us had the night's special, halibut catch of the day and they thought their meal was amazing. One of us had the filet shish kabob and I had the blackened prime rib. These meals were cooked by professionals who knew what they were doing. Our only complaint would be that they started putting chairs up before we were finished, which we thought was unprofessional when in an otherwise top knotch place.

The bistro has been a welcome addition to the town since its opening in 2010, providing access to a variety of wines beyond the typical California selections.
It's easily the best restaurant I've been to in Alaska. Everything from the service to the food was on point. The Halibut with the miso cream was the perfect dish. The fish had an amazing sear with a tender interior, elevated by this beautiful miso cream sauce. A must try and I will 100% return!

Delicious food, the roasted duck was cooked perfectly. Large array of drink options ranging from craft cocktails, a multitude of wines and homemade mocktails. The restaurant can get busy later in the evening, so wait times for food can be long. Food was presented well and tasted great. Reasonably priced for the quality of the dishes.

I always try to leave the review I wish others would write! First of all - this is by far the best restaurant we ate at in Anchorage and honestly one of the best we’ve had, and we are big foodies. That being said, we rated the service low because although our waitress was attentive and incredible it took 3 hours total from start to finish. Appetizers -*Oysters baked - oh my gosh probably the best ones we have had and we live on the coast! -Ravioli was creamy and delicious -Goddess salad was also very delicious Meals *-The salmon special was excellent. The flavors were incredible. One of the best salmon entrees we’ve ever had. It came on top of Parmesan risotto. There was a poached egg on top (which was delivered later kind of taking away from the overall presentation). Overall an amazing dish. -The prime rib entree was good but wouldn’t say it stood out when compared to the fish entree. Dessert They were out of baked Alaska so we got the crème brûlée and the chocolate graham cracker dessert. They were both delicious. Overall great experience. Only suggestion is that the restaurant could certainly benefit from some improved efficiency to decrease the length of stay for customers.

The place is nice and the staff too. Unfortunately there weren't many vegan options. There was a chance to make a couple of dishes vegetarian but no vegan option on the menu. Nevertheless the time I spent there was nice and even if they were very busy the staff was nice and helpful. The dishes looked tasty and elegantly plated some even artistic. They definitely have a proper Chef there. I'd hope in the future they'll have a couple of vegan options. for what I've seen the chef seems very capable to amaze us all.

We were recommended a visit to Crush by a local and looked forward to dining there during our one night in Anchorage last Thursday. While we were seated promptly and the drinks were great, our dinner took over an hour to arrive without communication from our server. When we finally asked for our salad first or crackers to tide over our hungry teen (after 55 minutes), we were denied both, told the kitchen was slammed and that they would get our meal out to us asap. Dishes trickled out over 20-25 minutes, meaning we couldn’t eat together. The food was delicious, but the service was disjointed and disappointing. Despite the server’s apology and mention of possibly comping items, nothing was removed from our bill. When we asked about it thinking she maybe forgot she had said that, first she came back with no, there’s nothing she can do. We told her how disappointing that was under the circumstances, and she said she understood. She then came back again and offered to comp a 3rd dessert - odd, since we didn’t need it and had already paid for two. It felt like a missed opportunity to turn a frustrating experience into a positive one. The bill was over $200 so choosing not to comp a glass of wine or a dessert that would have cost them $5 or 6 (if even) is just bad business. We had planned to buy a bottle of red to bring back to the hotel room. The tip was cut in half and the $20 they would have made on the wine sale forfeited...all for what exactly? Lost $, this bad review, and no future recommendation from us. In conclusion, we were confused and disappointed by the lack of hospitality. Would not recommend.

Love the atmosphere at Crush. The wine selection is fabulous and it’s a creative menu. I wish they had one or two more vegetarian options with real protein. Not many vegan options to speak of. I had the vegetarian wellington. It has a puff pastry, roasted vegetables, and then it is plated with a pesto and a blue cheese cream. It was awesome.

Coffee shop
Nestled in the historic Kimball building, which dates back to 1915, The Kobuk offers a delightful blend of nostalgia and charm. This cozy café is not just about coffee; it serves up an array of espresso drinks, teas, donuts, pastries, soups, and sandwiches. As you step inside this quaint spot located at the heart of downtown Anchorage, you'll be transported to a time when life was simpler.
Wowza- this place is a gem!! The donuts are THE BEST old-fashioned ones I have EVER had. All the flavors were amazing- especially the fireweed and blueberry!! Super fresh! Love the gift shop too- try the house made tea- it is phenomenal- they give you a warm, free sample as you browse the gift shop. They even have a back patio with fire pits- love this place!!!!

We stopped in here twice on our visit to Anchorage. Once with a food tour, then again on our own to get another donut and the samovar tea. They have fresh old-fashioned donuts in vanilla, birch, fireweed, cinnamon. We had them all and they were all delicious. It is a great little shop with all kinds of gift and souvenir items.

⭐️🐻 Support Local! The absolute cutest coffee shop and gift shop! Tons of local Native Alaskan and Canadian made finds! Beautiful Alaskan Jewelry & Earrings without the price gouging (it’s double the price at the Museum down the block). Make sure you check out the adjustable copper bracelets in the case too! Artisan glacier soaps, souvenir photo frames, teas, ornaments, chocolates, children’s gifts and more. The Coffee Shop is also apparently really good with scrumptious old fashioned donuts - but just missed ‘em since they closed early on Saturdays.

Cute shop! We ordered Cortado & peanut butter brownie. It was lovely.

This is a quirky gift shop with a coffee/doughnut shop almost hidden in the back! They also have a backyard seating area for enjoying the coffee and apparently beer! Being a guy that loves doughnuts, I was hoping for a great one, but I have to be honest and say I was not impressed by their doughnuts. VictorB

This was our first time visiting this store and I’m impressed! They have a ton of gifts from candy, to magnets, funny sayings/quotes, soaps, candles and more! We didnt get to try the bakery/coffee shop out though. Nina was super nice and gave the kids free candy samples as my wife shopped around. Great environment and friendly people, highly recommend!

There's SO much to see here! There's such a variety of cute gifts, souvenirs, and knick knacks you can certainly spend a while browsing through it all. The café is the backside of the shop is nice, too. I enjoyed the Rose Garden Iced Tea Latte special. It wasn't very big, but was certainly delicious. I think in the future, I'll ask for light ice.

So I heard so much about this place (reviews, YouTube, tour manager, fellow travelers). Thus, I can't leave Anchorage without visiting it. I was set to taste the famous Samovar glazed and Fireweed glazed donut. I was expecting something that tastes extraordinary, but it's just okay for me. Could it be that it was not freshly made? Like not fresh from the oven, I was expecting that it would be hot and tasty as what the other described. But nope, I was disappointed and couldn't really differentiate it from other best tasting donuts I had. There were 4 customers, including us, when we came. The cappuccino we ordered took a while to get served. I didn't order the famous Samovar tea. I was able to taste it, though (there's a free tea tasting within the store area). And I can say that Samovar tea is just as what they hype it for...perfectly blended if I may say. I love it and it is worth buying for your stash of tea or as gift.

Visited twice during our 3 day land excursions. One for a quick lunch. The next time as a shortcut to our downtown destination. We had panini sandwiches at a cake bakery. They were very good other than that are not made to order, so no mustard, no mayo wasn't an option. That forced us to go to the food court upstairs for one of our party. The mall itself seemed clean as well as the restrooms. With the number of homeless in the area it still felt clean and safe.
Pete Z — Google review
It's a great mall nice and spacious until you go into a store. I personally like the JCPenney's and Ian's Game Paradise! The mall tends to be pretty clean and there are public bathrooms. There's an elevator for handicapped people to get up and down between the stores. The food court is lacking tho I'd eat before going or after.
James B — Google review
Seems to be struggling to stay afloat. Closed stores, minimal staff, and the exterior is looking rough. There is a food court on the top floor (with local vendors but no fast food staples), but with some of the escalators shut down and only one elevator working, it can be interesting getting up there with out a wait.
Michael M — Google review
Well I think the 5th Avenue is mall is good. It has stores like AT&T,MK, Victoria Secret, Steak Restaurant, Eddie Bauer and even Aunt Annie's. However you have to pay to use the parking plaza and it is $2.00 after an hour and keeps going up in increments of two's. How is one to truly enjoy this mall if all there money is spent on parking. Furthermore, is there anyway the stores could validate the parking once you have made purchases inside the mall? Just a question.
Team T — Google review
There’s a decent number of shops but the food court is a little bare. Cake (a dessert place) was delicious! Restrooms overall are clean.
Karen K — Google review
It’s a mall. Loved the fact there was a jewelry watch repair shop here that was able to tell me they can repair a watch I bought in the early 90’s. Been here a few times. Nothing else fancy that stands out.
Michael P — Google review
The mall is really nice! Cool stores and restaurants, well used to be a subway but closed down, I would put five stars but due to the fact it’s in literally the downtown where all the homeless are, I gave it a four, but it’s a good mall no matter what.

The Walmart Supercenter is a popular spot with a variety of experiences. Some visitors enjoy the deli counter and friendly employees, while others note encounters with interesting individuals, like Spiderman. The store is generally well-kept, although some mention issues with homeless individuals. Despite this, many appreciate the helpful pharmacy team and efficient service at the drive-up loading area. While some find the selection of fresh produce lacking, others praise the cleanliness and helpfulness of staff throughout the store.
I stopped by this Walmart to do some basic shopping that groceries and some household items and everything went well. The staff is friendly, there’s plenty of parking and it’s well stocked.

We needed some typical as well as kind of special items. This Walmart had everything we needed. Lost a star because there are simply too many sketchy/vagrants around the parking lot, which tends to frighten small stature Female customers like my wife. Also, the blackberries were moldy. See pic.

Horrible product and dangerous. I picked up this package of celery on Saturday the 11th of October, the package was expired on the 14th for Al sale no later than and most of the celery was unusable. Moldy and clearly not salable for the market on the due no later date. Please do better Walmart!

Walmart is massive with lots of stuff and an easy return process. The only downside is that Alaskan-made products are pricey and there aren’t many options.

Amy Y — Google review
This sad excuse for a store somehow manages to simultaneously be full, yet still completely sold out. For example; 400 different coffee machines but not a single basic food processor. Combined with the overwhelming hoards of questionable hangarounds makes this shopping experience truly appalling and leaving your shopping basket unfulfilled. The floor staff are nice though.
Kristoffer N — Google review
Horrible store. So many things out of stock. No associates around to help even though most of the store has most of there things gs locked up. Very few registers open to get customers out of the store quickly. Never shopping at this Walmart again.
Nate V — Google review
So aggravated! If you are going to lock items up so idiots can’t steal them. At least make sure you have associates available to help your paying customers! Worse customer service ever! Then when Cathy comes up she says I can’t help you I don’t have a key. And walks away. Thankfully I was able to get a team lead to help us!

Costco Wholesale is a members-only warehouse that offers a wide range of products, including bulk groceries and electronics. The first store opened in Anchorage on Dimond Boulevard in 1984, with an annual membership fee of $25. In 1991, another location was opened on DeBarr Road after facing opposition from local residents. The store is praised for its product variety and competitive prices, although some customers mention the crowds as a downside.
Great prices on some things. Food and clothes can be great buys as well as pet foods. Furniture is not such a great deal. They have public restrooms, and a food court. Speaking of food court they did bring back the Hot Turkey Provolone Sandwich. Cheers. However it is $6.99.

So I shopped at this Costco from time to time while I was in Anchorage (I work with Instacart)..... not the same setup as the other Costco, but you get use to it, or not, it's all good lol Staff was helpful, other shoppers were cool too! Thanks!
Dominican R — Google review
Had a very great experience yesterday at this location. I have been looking for Costco's cube room divider to replace one I broke in my home. I called ahead to see if they had any in stock, and the system showed 2. I went across town to go get it, only to be disappointed that the only one left was the display and it was being held for another member. However, Sid (manager I believe), took my information and told me he would call once he heard back from the member if they were going to pick it up. About 2 hours later, Sid called me and informed me that I can buy and held it for me! I ran back and got it at a discount too since it was a display. A big thank you to Sid and also Brian (he also helped when I first came in looked for the missing "second" divider and really went out of his way to help). You guys made my day!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review: Outstanding Service and Quality at Costco on Debarr – Especially the Meat Department! I’ve been to a lot of Costcos across the country, but there’s something different about the Costco on Debarr Road in Anchorage. This store runs like a well-oiled machine, and from the moment you walk in, you can tell that the employees take pride in their work. But what really makes this location shine for me—and what deserves serious recognition—is the meat department and the incredible team that keeps it running strong. As someone who cooks often and pays close attention to quality, I can say without hesitation that the meat department at Debarr Costco is exceptional. The displays are always well-stocked, the area is clean and organized, and the freshness of the products is top-tier. Whether I'm picking up steaks for grilling, ground beef for meal prep, or trying something new like lamb or seafood, I know I can trust the quality and consistency here. But what truly sets this department apart isn’t just the selection—it’s the people behind the counter. The meat cutters and staff in that department go above and beyond. They’re not just working hard—they’re engaging, helpful, knowledgeable, and genuinely kind. I’ve seen them field questions from customers with patience and professionalism, take special requests without hesitation, and hustle during busy hours without ever letting it show on their faces. These folks are the unsung heroes of the store—always behind the scenes, but absolutely essential to the customer experience. One day, I had a specific cut in mind for a family gathering and wasn’t sure if it was available. I asked one of the employees, and not only did they stop what they were doing to assist me, but they went into the back, double-checked, and even gave me advice on how best to prepare it. That level of service doesn’t go unnoticed. You can tell these employees care—about their craft, about the customer, and about doing things right. Also worth mentioning: they work in one of the coldest, toughest parts of the store—and still manage to smile and stay friendly. That alone deserves a round of applause. Costco Debarr overall is a solid location with fast-moving lines, helpful front-end staff, and plenty of inventory. But it’s the meat department team that keeps me coming back. They're the backbone of the store and deserve every bit of recognition for the job they do day in and day out. If you're shopping in Anchorage, skip the other stores and head to Debarr. And if you see the meat department crew, give them a nod—they’ve earned it. 👏💪🥩

Barnes & Noble is a well-known bookseller chain that offers its own eReader and a wide range of titles for both adults and kids. The store in Anchorage, AK is described as fairly standard, clean, and easy to navigate. Visitors appreciate the spacious cafe area with ample seating. Some customers wish for a more extensive collection of opera and ballet media but acknowledge this as a common issue across Barnes & Noble locations.
I absolutely love this Barnes & Noble! The atmosphere is cozy and inviting—perfect for browsing or settling in with a good book. The staff is always friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They go above and beyond to help you find what you need or make great recommendations. The store is well-organized, with a wide selection of books, magazines, games, gifts, and even vinyl. The attached café is a great spot to grab a coffee and relax. It's a peaceful little escape in the heart of Anchorage. Highly recommend for book lovers and anyone looking for a quiet, inspiring place to explore!

Finally found the Sky-Jo game I’ve been hunting for many months. Amazon didn’t even have it when I started looking. I called the store and the friendly, helpful staff got the game off the shelf and held it for me. Hats off to B&N for pricing!!! Only .04 cents more than Amazon.

UPDATED: The B&N customer service team reached out to me and removed the said AI generated books with fake author names from their assortment. I appreciated their prompt response and solution. Original 1-star review: This review is not for the Anchorage B&N location, but for B&N as a company. I recently ordered 2 books that had appeared in my suggestions. Once I received them, a few things seemed really odd about them and once I started reading and doing some research it became clear that they were AI generated with a FAKE author name. It was NOT transparent that these were AI generated, neither on the website, nor on the book itself. A few things stood out to me that indicated they might be AI generated: 1. The books had both been just published in August 25 (same month as I had bought them) 2. They had no information about authors, but both had an author name 3. Under ''publisher', the author name was listed, but no other publisher was listed 4. I tried to find the authors on the web, but they clearly didn't exist. 5. As soon as I started reading, it became obvious to me. There were several inconsistencies that no real (human) author would have overlooked in a publication 6. The stories were as generic as can be. 7. The cover images looked like very generic AI generated images. 8. Lastly, after doing some research, the barcode number gave it away: 90000. I am beyond disappointed and shocked that B&N sells AI generated books, but doesn't mark them as AI generated, and that there is no transparency whatsoever! Even worse, it seems like they are covering up by providing fake author names. I reached out to customer service and this was their response: "B&N has not made any announcement and we do not comment on rumors or speculation." I have no words for how deceiving and dissappointing this is to me. I wanted to support B&N instead of purchasing from Amazon. I REALLY hope that B&N will be transparent going forward, or better: support HUMAN authors, HUMAN talent and creativity.

Ms. S — Google review
While ordering online or via an eBook app is extremely convenient, it is nice to spend time thumbing through pages and browsing selections you might not have thought to type into your search engine. I love any bookstore, big or small, and I am never disappointed when I visit Barnes and Noble in midtown. Like many other B&N locations, they have extensive music, children’s, travel and periodicals sections. They also have a cafe and gift/card area as well. It is a great place to bring the kids or to escape when you have some free time. It is also a good place to meet people. Today I had a nice chat with Chuck, a frequent customer and lover of all things muscle car and The Rolling Stones. Having thousands of books in the vicinity gives an easy jumping point to start a conversation with pretty much anyone.
Robin D — Google review
I love the large variety of items they provide. Obviously books but also so much more. I am always able to get good assistance when I am unsure of a book or where to find it. Fred Meyer is a beloved retail chain that has become a staple for residents seeking a diverse shopping experience. Originally established in Portland, it made its Alaskan debut in 1975 after acquiring stores from Valu-Mart, including the Anchorage location. This store truly embodies the concept of one-stop shopping, offering everything from groceries and apparel to furniture and electronics. Visitors can also find unique items like souvenirs and local treats such as Dunford donuts and Mexican bread at reasonable prices.
Usually it takes so long for someone to help when purchasing bigger items. This morning me and my husband were buying a vacuum and we asked for help. It took 15 minutes and still no one showed up. There was an employee, Lani, walking by and although she looked busy, she got us the vacuum in less than 3 minutes. Thank you Lani!

The store is clean, well-organized, and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Prices are fair, and the bakery and deli sections are great! Perfect stop for both locals and travelers in Anchorage.
Gilberto F — Google review
This Fred Meyer location is in serious need of improvement. When I visited recently, the parking lot was messy and there were many people loitering outside, which made the environment uncomfortable. Inside the store, the experience was disappointing as well—there was no hot food available, and the restrooms were in very poor condition and in desperate need of remodeling. Overall, the store would benefit greatly from better upkeep and cleanliness.

Very busy. I don't like that it is being rearranged because I can't find the things I normally get. And I like shopping to be short and easy. The staff is very nice and friendly helping me find the things I was looking for. And I like the savings when I buy things that are branded Kroger. I'm surprised how clean the store is since it looks very busy when I go in. I love how clean and organize the aisles are and hopefully it won't be changing anytime soon. What else stood out about my visit....? People. There are some bold and interesting human beings. But what do I care. People think I'm weird. 😂

As is always the case, Fred Meyers is a decent location to do your grocery shopping. Like many other stores, it also has electronics and housing and clothes. My only issue with this location, it has the standard gated doors that you will see in any low income neighborhood due to higher risk of theft. If you are capable of traveling the extra distance to one of the other locations, it may be preferred

Tried to check out: cashier did not like that I scanned my members card. He felt I should do it a different way. I told him it’s done let’s move forward. He kept on lecturing me. I told him I useless do self check out ( where there was a long line) so I came to him ( no line) he would not move forward. I left without my items . About 150.00 of stuff. I had the 30 dollar coupon. I called the manager, let him know it was me that left stuff with out my items. And why I left. All he could say is the cashier has a disability and having a bad day. I spent a good 5 minutes trying to get the cashier to move forward. And all I could do was leave. Manager did apologize, but I feel very bad that I spent all that time shopping picking out my items only to leave empty-handed with absolutely no compensation

This shop is home to the "World's Largest Chocolate Waterfall"—a 20-foot-tall fountain with 3,000+ pounds of chocolate flowing down copper kettles. Their Dubai Chocolate Bars ($35) & Dubai Strawberry Bowls ($20) were amazing. The chocolate bars are not worth $35, but were delicious. It's definitely worth the experience.

A nice shop with lots of chocolates and souvenirs. Tried a sample of some chocolates and unfortunately they weren’t very good. Also seemed rather overpriced.

Department store
Kohl's is a well-known chain department store that offers a wide range of clothing, accessories, and homewares. It has been established in various locations over the years, providing customers with convenient access to its products. While some challenges have been noted, such as issues with online ordering and reminders about coupons at checkout, many customers appreciate the excellent service provided by friendly and helpful staff. Additionally, the store's comfortable environment and well-maintained facilities contribute to a positive shopping experience for visitors.
Bathrooms are always clean and supplied with the seat covers. The stall cracks are pretty big though, but enough room in each stall, unlike target. Best bathrooms in the tikahtnu Commons thank you for keeping them clean

I had a 30% off coupon and a little time on my hands so Kohl's here I come! Holiday is out and it's early so it's mostly full price but right now is the best selection! I took pics of some of the goodies I will be wanting this year! Loving some of the toys out this year and get a peek at some super cute Mickey finds that will have you wanting to redo your whole kitchen! And dont forget to check out the Clearance ~ I got some great deals on some of the under frilly things us ladies need every day if you know what I mean.. Get to your Kohls this holiday season!

I spent an hour in the shoe department trying to find good shoes for two of my children and nobody showed up to offer to help me. There are no longer sliding shoe sizers. Shoes are a specialty item and they really need associates who know shoes to help customers. The area to check out is turning into a maze with drugstore products. I feel like they are trying tempt customer with impulse purchases-- but why? If I leave a store having purchased things I didn't need, I'm less likely to go back. The employees are fine, but the stores are devolving. I know that the current layout is an attempt to compete with online sales, but part of the reason I went in the other day was for some sales expertise for growing children.

Looking for a purse and no luck. Many on sale but they were more for summer. It wasn't well stocked or in order. It wasn't crowded. No staff around to scan for prices...frustrating and no self scanners in the purse area could be seen.

Customer Service here is out rightly BAD TERRIBLE DISASTROUS! They simply do not care if any customers have had an awful product experience or product defects. Marcus, the Lead Manager here at Kohl's NE ANC, has been quite impolite, rude, non-understanding, and an exceptionally bad leader in managing people and customers together. I would rate this store 1 OUT OF 10. SERIOUSLY. This store does not care about quality of customer or product experience at all.
Sumeet J — Google review
Store was clean and representatives were friendly. Stock was seemingly low, but it could have just been me. Overall, this is one of my favorite stores with a great amount of parking availability!

The prices are high but they have a lot of discounts available. I just bought a jacket that was listed for $160 and I got 40% off that and then did a scratch off thing and got 15 more percent off so I only paid $80 at the end. I'm happy with it.

I just want to give a a shout out to Mare in the grooming department! She did a fantastic job on my miniature poodle & I can’t get over how amazing my dog looks!!! Highly recommend her, this is the second time I use her as a groomer and she does a beautiful job! Love how wonderful/perfect my furr baby looks! Thanks Mare!!!
Andrea M — Google review
This store has been so welcoming! The beginner class with Melany was worth every penny and I strongly recommend it to others! Grooming has been decent (I would give grooming a 3/5; in comparison to a professional grooming company because each time my doodle looked way shorter than I anticipated, but not bad- her look lacked depth compared to professional company cuts.)

I buy bedding every month. They almost always have what I want. They track discount dollars if you sign up with your phone number, and the cashiers never fail to greet me when I enter the store.

What was meant to be. Very refreshing new start for my newly adopted best friend very quickly turned mutually traumatic for us both when the groomer intentionally picked open I scab on her head (pre adoption nearly healed wound). I don't know if she was just trying to Find a way to get out of the appointment That's really what I feel like. Definitely not the fresh start I had in mind for my baby girl.
Matthew T — Google review
Some of the employees at this store care so little about doing a good job that I've had to call corporate to have the issues handled. If they're not unhelpful, they're grumpy or just flat out rude. I picked up an order today from an employee that was such a jerk that I almost turned around and asked what his problem was. I'm so done. I live 2 miles away from this store and will drive across town to the southside from here on out, just to avoid dealing with the employees at this store.

My baby girl Millie(corgi) went in to get a basic haircut and bath, I had jade and she was absolutely amazing! She did great on her haircut and she put bows in her hair which really made her look great! Above and beyond in my opinion. she takes really good care of your fur baby! 10/10 recommend jade

I’m surprised to see the low reviews for grooming, so here’s my positive one. I’ve had bad experiences at nearly every groomer in Anchorage. I went to this Petsmart as a last go and was very pleased with how they groomed my Pomeranians. One of my dogs saw Laura, the other one saw Emily and both did a great job!!! Scheduling and paying is convenient if you have the Petsmart app. I will be back - thank you.

The Home Depot is a large home improvement retailer with stores in all 50 states. The store is known for its helpful staff and wide selection of home improvement products.
I really appreciate when large chain stores make a point to carry local items. Found several Alaska brands when I made a recent stop there. Everyone was helpful, Peggy at checkout was amazingly so cluing me in to all the end of summer gardening sales. And while we should all be terrified by the amount of sand, gravel and ice melt that is currently in stock at this location…I for one appreciate the preparedness!

I find HD has the parts I need more often than Lowe's, but finding them, even with the app, can be a challenge. Perhaps that will improve. I'm not crazy about the dependence on self-checkout, but it isn't enough to avoid shopping here. Overall, an okay resource

I want to this store because I was assisting my father returned a snake that we have rented when we came up to the customer service desk to return it I asked the customer service representative a simple question that just needed a simple answer instead of giving me a simple answer he gave me a rude answer with a rude attitude and after that he Shrugged his shoulders at me that is not at all how perform customer service if that's how you want to act you should probably work in the back.

The first employee I encountered near the clearance area was from the garden center but she was extremely nice and helped introduce us to a gentleman from the appliance department who got us setup with all the accessories we'll need, and even set us up with home delivery. I feed a specific food to my cat, but the boxes I prefer to buy of this brand is always out! Could more boxes of the Whole Hearted pleasing pate 5.5 oz cans be ordered? I am obviously not the only consumer at this location that continually buys it.

The individual working was friendly although, I am disappointed with the service. Petco is usually my go-to as it is has been reliable, but this was my first time at this location. I go monthly, specifically for the services to help maintain shedding as my dog is larger and sheds excessively. The pictures below are from brushing twice (yes twice) right after getting home from the appointment when I noticed hair was still shedding off. So needless to say, I’m a little upset I spent money for this.

The 5 stars are for convenience. They take care of nearly all of my pet care needs and their rewards system benefits my budget. Between Vetco, the groomers, positive reinforcement style remote training, and Vital Care Premier I only go elsewhere when my dog or cat food is out of stock or they need more than preventative care. The staff are friendly but the stores are often understaffed. The company is a little more focused on profit than animal wellness but that just means I need to be paying attention to what I buy in terms of it being what my guys need. For a busy pet mom, I can't really ask for much more.
Amber R — Google review
The staff is very friendly & knowledgeable. I love that I'm able 2 take my baby girl in the store with me. Update...the mountain view store has really gone downhill since Tabitha & Sandie r no longer there. The staff is still friendly, but there is 1 cashier that really doesn't seem so bright & she is very slow. I use 2 work at that store & she started about a month before I quit. I recently went 2 get some cat food & even though I no longer work there, I still had 2 show her how to do something on the register & I left in December. This was March. They just can't seem to keep anyone long-term in management, and most of the employees aren't happy anymore. Don't get me wrong, I will still shop there. They have everything that all my pets need & I know where everything it but I don't think I will ever work there again. UPDATE: I have changed my review to 5 stars because things have gotten better around there. I was just in there recently because my pet mouse that I had had passed away and I wanted to purchase a new one. Montana was the one that helped me and she let me actually hold one of the mice because I was trying to find one that was friendly and would actually let me hold them and not try and jump out of my hands. I'm very happy with the selection that I have made and I have named her Minnie Mouse because she's so small. Plus the cashier I can't remember what her name what's but I really like her she remembers me every time I come in there and Shop cuz I'm in there just about every month because of my cats and my tortoise and my leopard gecko. I will definitely continue to shop there.

William in the grooming salon was amazing! He made sure I was aware of the price and he takes so much care in the way he does the grooming and will ask if there are any issues. I have had my dog groomed before but never have had the opportunity to be included in what was happening. If you need to have your dog groomed William is the one!!!
Christina H — Google review
I took my dog for grooming and reluctantly allowed a trainee named Justin to work on my dog instead of William. I had to call after almost 3 hours of my dog being there, to see if he was ready for pickup. Once I arrived I immediately went to pay for the grooming. When I came back Justin was extremely unprofessional and said “I don’t ever want to see your dog’s nails like that again or I’m going to have to fight you.” I bring my dog for grooming every 4-6 weeks so he is far from neglected. I was extremely offended. Once I started to leave with my dog, Justin forgot he already printed out the form to pay and said “absolutely not, you are not leaving yet. You didn’t pay for the service.” I showed him proof of payment and he didn’t even try to apologize. I will never bring my dog back to that store which is unfortunate because I do like William, but the unprofessionalism shown today was absolutely despicable.

My 3 month old daughter soiled her diaper while I was shopping and waiting for a fitting room to open up. I asked the attendant where the restrooms were in order to change my daughter's diaper. "We don't have restrooms here", was the response. I explained the situation and the attendant suggested I use a fitting room! Where there is no trash can and no where to wash your hands. Completely unacceptable and unsanitary. There wasn't even a family fitting room available for use that could fit us with our stroller so I would have had to continue waiting while my daughter sat in her soiled diaper. Stop gatekeeping bathrooms. If it isn't illegal, it should be.

"Never try to save $40 by making their card — total disaster! I was just trying to pay for my wife’s sunglasses and my t-shirt. They say, 'Make the card, save $40.' So I spend over 30 minutes — filling forms, signing papers — unbelievable waste of time. Then they say, 'You have to talk to headquarters.' So I wait again. And guess what? They can’t even connect me because of their problem. Then they say I have to pay the full amount — total scam! I ask for the paper I signed — the manager takes a picture of it! I tell them to delete it — they say it’s already in the system. Can you believe it? I paid full price, no discount, no confirmation if the card is canceled — and they treat me like I did something wrong. Don’t go to this store. They treat customers like fools — it's a disgrace!"

Performing arts theater
Non-profit organization
The Alaska Center for the Performing Arts is a prominent venue in Anchorage, featuring three theaters that host a variety of performances including dance recitals, symphonies, and plays. Situated at the corner of G Street and Sixth Avenue, this unique brick-and-glass building with colorful rings of light offers wonderful acoustics in its auditoriums. While some visitors have noted issues with sightlines from certain seating areas during specific performances, overall it provides a pleasant experience for enjoying cultural events.
I will always have the fondest memories of this place. Saw my first concert here as a kid with my mom (Jackson Brown), The Nutcracker, Phantom of the Opera and more in the 90s, and most recently some really great touring comedy shows (Second City and Who's Line). Also love the community accessibility, as a kid in ballet our troupe performed here and I got to dance on the stage. Comfortable seating and a good view from any level. I will always come back!

This is a review of a bar drink. Me and 2 friends went to the PAC in Anchorage on Fri. I ordered a couple of your canned G&Ts, which I thought odd, as I had never seen canned gin and tonic. We opened and poured. "Hmmm", we thought, "there must be lime juice in", as it was this sickly yellow green color. My friend took 1 sip, made a face, and that was it. I choked mine down.....not wanting to waste a $13!!! drink. Never again. Worst drink ever. It neither looked nor tasted like a G&T. Fooled me once.

Some hazards to negotiate in walking or avoiding risky stairs. Found street level entrance on 5th ave. side safe and goes right into lower lobby. Good idea to arrive early as elevator gets jammed up and very busy. The refreshment service is over priced. Tickets can get way too costly for seniors on a budget. A nice venue but be careful.

Target is a popular retail chain that offers a wide range of products including home goods, clothing, electronics, and exclusive designer collections. It's like having Macy's, JC Penney, Dillard's, Walgreens, Amazon all in one place. The store also features a real Santa during the holiday season. While some customers have reported mixed experiences with employees' attitudes and customer service quality, others have praised specific staff members for their exceptional knowledge and support.
Evelyn in the perfume/makeup department always greets and stops to ask how she can help you. She never directs, but personally takes you to the area you are looking for. I’ve been in the store many times and she is always helpful by checking if item is in stock or not. Thank you Evelyn for always assisting me.

Something is consistently wrong with Target South in Anchorage, Alaska. They lack inventory and proper merchandising of what they do have. Then the empty shelves are filthy. It’s saying something when a Target is more depressing than Walmart. I really do avoid going inside and prefer curbside when possible. Why is it they can’t keep any product on their shelves with 10 shoppers in the store? Photo from the net but this is typical.
David W — Google review
I went to get my son some new tennis shoes. They had 3 aisles of girl shoes but less than 1/2 of an aisle for boys. We had to take our business elsewhere. Target had dressier shoes but not a single tennis shoe in size. The boys section is usually low in stock of clothes as well. Do better target.
Melodious M — Google review
Went in to buy an air filter because I saw it was $25. When I got into the store, the exact same filter (verified against the UPC) was close to $11 more. I asked the customer service if they could price match their own prices and they said no, if I wanted the lower price then I had to buy it online. Okay I can do that, but I order it online I had to wait at least 2 business hours to pick up the product I already had in my hand. So I kindly asked to speak with a manager and unfortunately got the most rude unhelpful person possible. Not only could she not price match (how is that even possible? We’ve all worked retail and they can definitely mark something down) but her response to everything was “well I just work here”. These policies are so insane. I literally have to pay more for a product that I drove down and pulled off the shelf myself?

It's a great place to buy new or a secondhand camping or hiking gear. They even have some water river rafting. Gear as well. I bought a down sleeping bag that normally. Would it cost me $400 for $75? And it served its purpose, amazing, great deals

I went in looking for light coverage for a wedding I have coming up and Robert was amazing, he helped me find my shade and a great product to help with my acne and eczema prone skin. This location was amazing and everyone was so helpful! Worth the drive across town!

Wonderful selection of products! Staff usually is nice and helpful, depending on who’s there for the day. Occasionally there still seems to be other ones who just smirk at their customers but I was in search of a certain product in a diff shade today and approached one of their male staff i think who was checking their stocks, And he helped me. The other manager however who assisted me in my order was efficient but rude..

Robert at ulta with the awesome hat is a freaking Rockstar. He usually does mac. I got sent to him looking for a beseme dusky rose dupe and this wonderful man took me all around the store hunting for the match in the long lasting formula that I needed. I am rocking it. Then he fiiiiinally found me a good, solid basic mascara for daily wear that won't make me look like a raccoon. Price was a little higher than I was expecting on the mascara (but I had been buying crap mascaras so that makes sense) but we knocked it out of the park with value on the lip and it was still under my budget. Go Robert! I'm coming to you next time I need something in makeup!

I have been back and forth to the store since moving here about a month ago and the girls really do try to help you but they're just too young they don't understand that people have different skin textures skin needs and undertones. They have no idea what you are talking about when you were talking about basic skin things like acne and undertones or wrinkles they are all like 12 years old I guess at least they're able to hire people to work at the store but it would be nice to have people who are actually trained in skin or something. They just are too young to be able to really help you. They can help you with trendy things like from Instagram but i just want thijgs to work for my skin so you have to just take what they say with a grain of salt. I am a neutral brown color and every time I get match the girls trying to match me with something black or orange or yellow even though I explained to them then I need a foundation that matches the color in the center of my face and the outside. They dont understand and ive had to come back so many times for makeup that hasn't worked. Some of the girls walk right past without greeting you or asking how you are doing or if you need help. The white cashier girl always seems to be high when you come to the register and just not into being there at all, just barely hanging on and not into people. And OMG ive never been called maam so much in my whole life. I'm not even old. I need these young girls to stop calling me maam.

I used the salon service. A color fill was $165, they only had a top level available so you get shat you get. I went elsewhere after and my color from this place was much lighter, it didn't even match. I even gave them the color that was used. I would not go back here.

Lilli helped us out and was very kind and knowledgeable about the products in the store. She helped all 3 of us find the right type of products for our skin as well as great suggestions for the items we were looking for. She helped us find the best quality products for the best prices. I would recommend asking her if you have any skin questions.

They also have a brow bar which is such a fun experience. I know waxing fun? But yes they are so friendly and teach you and give fun tips. I love the fact that you can touch, try, & use the makeup before buying. They also have a salon which i havent used yet but maybe one day i will. Im not big on my hair but maybe i should.

I LOVE this salon and Maddie has done my highlights multiple times. When my daughter's multi-colored ends turned out bad at another salon and they were going to charge again for a fix, Maddie saved the day. She turned greyish/green ends the pretty blue they were supposed to be. She also made the dull pink and purple ends pop, I highly recommend Maddie at Ulta in Anchorage (Muldoon). Bar
Nestled in the heart of Anchorage, Pioneer Bar stands out as a quintessential dive bar that captures the essence of local culture. With its no-frills atmosphere and an inviting vibe, this beloved spot has been a staple for decades. Patrons can enjoy a cold beer or simple mixed drink while soaking up captivating stories from friendly locals who frequent the bar. The bartenders here are known for their charm and skill, making every visit memorable.
Tasty offerings from the food truck- The Hooligan - in the back patio. Has picnic tables if you'd rather be outside BUT- food can go in the bar but alcohol can't come out. You can access through the big parking lot (plenty of parking back there!) in the backside of the block. Delicious homemade Tomato Soup, 3 variations on Grilled Cheese and the tastiest, most generous portions of hot Tater Tots! They're on Instagram with menu... but I can't see it without an account!

Wandered in looking for drinks and a good time. The patrons were great but I didn’t get the most friendly vibes from the bartenders, so I left after a couple drinks. I specifically asked a bartender if it was a patio, was told no. Then the patrons next to me went to go smoke on said non-existent patio. Weird. Would probably not return, but who knows, it could’ve just been a misunderstanding. Good location.

Very cool dive bar! Lots of space to sit and spread out. Also a great selection of bar games to play: pool, shuffleboard, darts, digital golf. If you enjoy the dive bar feel, stop in for a pint!
Bailey J — Google review
Most of the bar tenders are great, except the bald middle aged man. Super rude, unnecessarily hostile towards a paying customer. Clearly not a unique experience looking at some other reviews. Multiple fights happen nightly and there was a fatal shooting outside a few days ago.

Whenever I'm in Anchorage, if I have time, I drop in. Usually, I never have an issue getting a table for a few guys and hitting the pool table and jukebox. Good assortment of beer and well priced. Also sells commemorative pint glasses for the Iditarod for cheap.

We walked here after (and before) eating at Glacier Brewhouse and I’m glad we did! The staff was very friendly, service was fast and drinks were cheap. Later in the evening the bar got very busy and was a fun atmosphere the entire time we were there. It’s one of the older bars (if not the oldest) in town and there’s plenty of tasteful character all over the place. It’s much whiter and casual during earlier hours if big crowds aren’t your thing. I hope I get to visit this bar again someday!

Mad Myrna's is a vibrant and inclusive gay club located in downtown Alaska, known for its lively atmosphere and diverse entertainment options. This recently remodeled venue features an inviting interior adorned with glitter, where patrons can enjoy weekly karaoke nights, energetic DJ sets, and captivating cabaret performances. The highlight of the weekend is the fabulous drag shows that take place every Friday and Saturday night, showcasing talent that rivals major cities across the country.
Such an incredibly welcoming, inclusive, and fun place!!! The drinks are so unique and have fun names. ;) We unexpectedly went in and there was a drag show!! The bartender informed us there is a standing area in the stage room if you have not reserved a table. However, before the show started a server sold us a table. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE DOLLARS BILLS!! Tip your drag queens and kings!!! The dance floor with the stripper pole is too much fun!! After getting bored of the same old songs at the spur (in fbx) it’s so nice to actually dance to songs with a DJ that KNOWS THEIR AUDIENCE and is also super talented. Such a fun environment and a great place to end a magical night!! (They did also have food but I did not order any)

If you're visiting Anchorage (like I was!), this is THE gay bar to go to. They have it all! (1) outdoor space with bonfires and games (massive jenga and connect 4!), (2) awesome AWESOME drag shows, like NYC calibre, (3) dance floor/area, and (4) food! You may never leave. And, quite befittingly, the entrance is in the rear, not the front street.

Came for the drinks, loved the friendly service and stayed for some absolutely travelicious food. Auf Wiedersehen! We’ll be back soon. Mad Mario Pizza and the Mac’n Cheese with bacon are YUMMY and big enough to share with friends.

This is one of my favorite places. The food is so incredible I door dash it when I can’t go in person. Their musical theatre shows are literally some of the best I’ve ever seen, so much that I often go several times to each one. They are funny and the performers are so talented. Chris, the manager, has always been absolutely wonderful to us and taken care of us when we needed something. Can’t say enough good things about this place!
Evelyna C — Google review
It was my first time here and I had a friend who had never gone to a club before so we were excited. We were confused from start to finish though. We didn't realize the door fee was cash, which we were totally fine with, it is just that their ATM wasn't working. We asked the lady in the front who was checking people in that we were here for the drag show and if the tables were open seating. She said yes go right on in and sit yourself. But then we got moved twice and then told the tables are reserved, and cost $15 each to pay after the waitlist. We of course obliged and were apologizing, we felt horrible for stealing people's tables. Then we got kicked out after my friend fell. I am actually appreciative of that, she was rather drunk and we really needed to get her home. I just wish the place was friendlier and the staff took better care of the guests. Everyone we spoke with from the staff felt hostile. It was all the small interactions that added up quickly. The performers were fabulous!! Overall a mixed review.
Anastasia H — Google review
After reading several reviews , I felt compelled to share my observations. It is disheartening to note the recurring descriptive patterns of behavior highlighted by numerous patrons. As someone from the lower 48, my typical weekend routine involved visiting gay bars and enjoying drag performances, which never failed to impress. I have had the pleasure of frequenting gay clubs in various cities, including Chicago, Kansas City, Minneapolis, and Des Moines, and I treasure the fond memories. That being said, it is disappointing, embarrassing, and pathetic that your establishment fails to operate at a satisfactory level. Your continued operation is largely attributed to your location in a remote city and state. It is pertinent to consider the potential consequences of another gay club opening in the area. Clearly, managing a toxic environment is a challenge, and it is unlikely that you will take the time to review this feedback, given your apparent lack of concern. I would like to address the community and visitors: not all gay clubs and bars are akin to Mad Myrna's; in fact, most establishments serve quality drinks and food, feature engaging music, and maintain a welcoming atmosphere with friendly staff, devoid of hostility and racism towards patrons. It is essential to acknowledge that your club remains operational primarily due to the limited options available to the LGBTQ2SIA community in this area. I foresee a decline in your establishment's viability in the future.
Louise W — Google review
If I could leave zero stars I would. I just want to say this has nothing to do with the chefs. Which is why I gave then 3 stars on food. I would like to report racial profiling on behalf of my best friend. We have attended many shows at this establishment and have casually enjoyed the festivities. On the night we (including the aforementioned friend) had attended the Rocky Horror Picture Show with no issue. We were waiting in line with said friend for water when security approached us and kicked out our friend without explanation. When i had inquired the reasoning, I was told a bartender had reported my friend for "excessive festivities" by a bartender. My friend was patiently waiting in line for water with us. I request security footage of said accusations so that we may provide said footage with our lawyers.

Walgreens is a well-known drugstore chain that offers a wide range of health and beauty products, prescription medications, and photo services. It's like having all the essentials from Macy's, JC Penney, Dillard's, Amazon, and Target under one roof. The store also features a photo print kiosk and a rewards program for customers. Customers have praised the pharmacy staff for their excellent service and helpfulness in answering questions about medications.
Pharmacy staff is excellent! Everyone so kind and helpful. Aaron took extra time to explain and answer all my questions. The photo print kiosk staff was amazing as well. Dug out a cord for me as I didn’t have one on me and, again, listened attentively to make sure I was completely satisfied with my experience. The store carries everything as well, and they have a great rewards program. I’ve shopped at most of the Walgreens locations in Anchorage/Eagle River and I find that this review could really apply across the board. It is nice to know that a large chain can provide such a high level of customer service across the board. They are also currently running a fundraiser for the Children’s Miracle Network, a worthy cause that I am happy to know they support!
Robin D — Google review
I’m not big on giving one star reviews but this company really needs to evaluate how they operate. They are insanely understaffed at their pharmacy which isn’t fair to their employees and most are not trained. One pharmacist? Who also does vaccine appointments? Insane. Not to mention they had some policy change requiring a script for RSV vaccine (it is NOT required in our state) but nothing to say you needed it. Got there for my appointment, waited hours and hours. Still had no follow up even though my script was sent in. Finally gave up and left. In that period of time I saw nothing but unhappy people come through waiting for hours as well for their scripts. Walgreens needs to treat their people better so they aren’t so overworked. As frustrated as I was with the situation, it’s really the companies fault for this. Do better! UPDATE: the pharmacy also just sucks in general, I wanted to give the benefit of the doubt but they emphasized needing to call in the script when I wanted it faxed, they DECLINED to accept the unneeded script, and their fax isn’t accept any faxes either. (Multiple tries to their exact fax line) I knew they declined the script over the phone and then had the audacity to say they never got a call. If anyone is in need of the RSV vaccine Fred Meyers does not require an appointment OR a script as long as you meet the requirements for the vaccine. Night and day difference in how you’re treated.

If ZERO STARS was an option i would give this place zero. This Walgreens is NOT GOOD if you're trying to get something printed. We made an online order in the morning to print something out, we went there around 4pm to pick it up and it wasn't even ready even tho we received a notification that it was ready for pick up. They didn't even start the order. The worker wasted 15 minutes in the printing area, then said he would check the back for the right paper. He comes back empty handed, wasted another 15 minutes looking for a solution. We ended up canceling it, the worker didn't know what he was doing. Go to a different Walgreens, we're never coming back here again.

I have pick-up prescriptions here years ago with no issues so I'm not sure what happened. I had a prescription set to be picked up here and I got a notification that something was wrong with my insurance (they said it would get fixed in the email but also suggested to call in to help process the fix faster) After two days of me attempting to calling with 30+ min holds I got frustrated with trying to figure it out. Switched my pick-up location to the one off Tudor and not only did they fix my issue before I could even call them, they has the prescription ready a day earlier than the stated (same-day). Again, not sure why you can't get ahold of anyone at this location but I would suggest to anyone reading this to work with another location over this one.
B — Google review
Worst drive thru pharmacy wait ever… cant blame them since they seem to be understaffed. However it’s not that hard to let your customers know that you'll be with them in a few minutes.
Victoria — Google review
I hate the pharmacy at this place, I’m currently on hold with them and the time is 56 minutes so far, my daughter ran out of her meds and I put in a request to get her refill done and I have called weekly sometimes twice a week and I get no answer from them, one time I called and customer service got on the line with the lady that answered and the guy told me he emailed the tech about my situation and told them to give me a call back and this was almost 2 weeks ago now and have I gotten a response NO I haven’t, this place is so so so terrible and I dislike the service they give. I have switched to Bernis pharmacy and that place I called about her RX and they couldn’t bill my insurance because they told me that the other pharmacy already billed it, so now I’m on the phone for an hour now to figure out why if they billed my insurance why isn’t t the meds ready for pick up, are they doing fraud my daughter had a RX of 180 caps sent over by her doctor to this Walgreens and the first RX that we picked up was a quantity of 60 and being she has to take them twice a day that’s 30 days and now I have been going back and fourth on the phone about this and no response. This Walgreens on the corner of northern lights and the highway is a POS and I will never do business here again. And it just told me that they are now closed for lunch and I called them at 12:30pm and was on the phone for an hour. Not cool business walgreen

Couldn't believe my eyes when I walked into this Walgreens. At least 1/4 of the store had no product on the shelves and the fixtures were dirty, old and very worn. There was an overwhelming "ick" factor walking into this Walgreens. We absolutely loved our visit to Alaska Sausage & Seafood—what a cool place! We ended up spending over $200 because everything looked (and tasted) amazing. After we checked out, we had a great chat with Ben, who was so kind, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. He made us feel right at home. We tried the Moosetard (smoked mustard) 🤣 and a sweet applesauce-style jam that was absolutely delicious. We bought everything to make a fun Father’s Day package for Joe’s dad—including sausages, jams, snacks, and more. They even offer gift baskets online, which are perfect for sending a little taste of Alaska to your friends and family. This place is a must-visit if you're in Anchorage. The service, the selection, and the whole experience were top-notch—we’ll definitely be back!

This was the 2nd butcher/sausage maker we went to in Anchorage and OMG how is this place not nationwide! We went on their birthday and won a free t-shirt and sticker and then we got to sample many of the items and they were all out of this world amazing and we were plum full from stuffing our faces just prior and we still spent well over $100 on reindeer sausage and smoked salmon and yet here I am back in Texas wishing I had bought $1,000 worth and just paid for the overweight baggage on the airline. You have to try the kippered salmon and twice cold smoked salmon strips and of course any of the reindeer sausage and summer sausage every which way they make it is absolutely delicious! Oh and the lemon pepper smoked salmon is amazing too!!!

I am very disappointed. When we came to the store, we asked if the fish was checked, as we had recently had an unpleasant situation. In one of the local restaurants we ordered salmon that had worms and we would not like to deal with infected fish again. A nice girl at the store assured us that the fish was clean. It was such a disappointment to come home, start eating the fish and see worms again. But if worms are not a problem for you, their fish is really tasty.

H&M is a clothing store that sells on-trend clothing for adults and kids, as well as swimwear, accessories and shoes. It has a friendly and helpful staff who are always up for finding the latest trends.
Store has a decent selection and their sale rack is generally well priced for random attire needs for special occasions or sporadic outings. The only major flaw is that the service is often hard to come by- I’ve waited 25 minutes for a cashier one time for instance as I couldn’t find one and needed to get something for a funeral.

The kid’s selection is the best stocked area in the store. As a woman with curves, I can NEVER find anything that fits. Seriously, this place is for those who happen to be a size small or medium. For a company that claims to be so diverse, I really don’t see it. Oh, and the maternity section is a joke. We are in Alaska and in October and they have dresses and the maternity jeans are all tiny and beyond expensive. $50 for a pair of maternity pants. No thanks.
Dani H — Google review
I would have given 5 stars if the store was not so empty. It seemed like it just opened getting ready to close down or just remodeled. It also seemed like all the sizes large/xl was out of stock. I like the way it was set up a couple years ago it was much easier to find things . I was very upset I wasn't able to purchase one thing from their so I am not sure if they just had a big sale or what but n they definitely need to restock. I will visit again in like a week and see if it had improved. I really like their styles and just need more variety and to keep the stock up.

the girl who introduced herself as a manager avoided the conversation, turned her back, behaved extremely disrespectfully and was constantly rude. The store is dirty and things are scattered. There is no customer focus at all. 👎

Overall, it was very disappointing. She rode a hanger with clothes hanging in the store. She doesn't seem at all willing to work. She didn't even try to find out the size even though it was just only one item for the customer. I would have paid the wrong price if I hadn't pointed it out. If proper service training is difficult, withdrawing stores would rather help the brand's reputation. will never visit again.

You can see my last review was over a month ago. I waited for them to open to get one particular dress I saw on the mannequin. Once the store decides to open 15 minutes later than the advertised time I asked about the dress. I was told it was the last one and I had to wait till it came off. I gave the store associate my name and he wrote down the name of the dress and told me to constantly call to see when it came off the mannequin and they will hold it. I called every week. About 2 weeks ago they extended the hold for the dress. Due to it still being on a mannequin. 30 June... I called and was told that it was coming off the mannequin the next day so I can get it after lunch. I call on Tuesday to confirm its still there before I take the drive. No answer. I called Wednesday tell him I'm in route to pick it up and all of a sudden the dress has been sold. I'm highly disappointed that I was giving directions from store clerk and also confirmed by another store clerk that it will be available and it's not. I never wanted to dress so badly and never waited so long and patiently for one and not get it. Highly disappointed.

Poor customer service. Wanted to buy the only shirt left, which was on the mennequin, and the manager refused....she said the person who dresses the mennenquin was out today. So after arguing back and forth for mins we asked to speak with a manager and after 5 mins and finally came over and told them what happened, as the front so lady’s where arguing on who sold it and how we can’t return l, when all we wanted to do was switch it out for the $139.00 nets and pay the difference, would not recommend horrible customer service from two short heavy set ladies with glasses. They both are very confrontational and a simple fix, what would have been a few mins took way longer and had to record the whole experience and take photos.. shame on BnJs for selling wrong equipment and not returning it… would not recommend at all , Cabelas and Bass have better service for a small higher price to pay

They sale the legal size shrimp cages (pots). I purchased a fishing reel and had new line spooled on the reel. It probably didn't the 5 minutes before I was ready to check out. The 5th Ave Mall houses Sephora in Downtown Anchorage, this is my favorite location to purchase makeup and skincare with my fragrance. The team is solid providing perfect service. The store has great lighting and music 🎶 to keep your senses awake while exploring new products. I can find all my favorite Dior products well stocked. The staff is efficient in moving the line at the cash wrap and the rewards are great. Birthday gift every year, points on all purchases and the credit card gives you 25%off your first purchase. For the holidays and year round they make the sales known and visible. It’s worth going Downtown to support the Mall and parking is free on Sundays.

My fav store to go shopping. I always find something i want. I love how easy it is to find the new things and different brands. Its easy to figure out. Im vib rouge which basically means i buy to much but i really enjoy the quaility of the products. The staff are always around to help. You can get 3 samples of almost any beauty product of your choosing. my only negative is I feel like i get annoyed easily by the workers all asking if i need anything. I understand when I walk in but if I dont bite I which they would leave me alone unless I come looking for them. I feel like I cant enjoy myself. On good days they are busy and leave me the hell alone.

It was pretty busy but that's to be expected at the time of day that I went. Around 4:45pm. Due to that I wasn't able to find what I needed as quickly as I wanted to. And usually the associates ask if you need any help and they didn't even ask me today. That's why I gave 4 instead of 5 stars. Their products are always top notch!

Fromagio's Artisan Cheese is a must-visit spot in Anchorage for cheese lovers and food enthusiasts. The staff is known for their warm welcome, offering delicious samples, and sharing extensive knowledge about their products. The menu features delectable sandwiches made with high-quality ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible. Visitors can also enjoy a cool art shop connected to the restaurant while waiting.
Fromagio’s exceeded my expectations on The Chikky Pesto Sandwich and the Italian Sandwich! The bread was crispy and not burnt, the meat, cheese and dressing just complimented eachother so well. I also had the cinnamon roll that wasn’t pictured because I was so excited and it tasted too delicious that it didnt make it 😅 We will definitely be back! I’m upset at myself that I didn’t try the Crepe Layered Cake because it looked so beautiful and yummy 😋

What a cool spot that my wife and I stumbled upon while visiting Anchorage! I had one of the best Italian sandwiches I’ve ever had. It was so fresh. The service was great! The guy who took our order gave us a cookie on the house, because of our long travel day. Then we stuck around and sampled some cheeses and salami. Of course, we bought a couple of cheeses and a salami. Definitely some unique cheeses.

Apologies, this review is from a month ish ago. The staff greet you with smiles and are always willing to offer delicious samples and provide knowledge of their products. Their sandwiches hit the spot and are awesome concoctions. I had the pesto chicken sandwich. It was good enough that I packed up some friends and had them come with me the next time and the food was again on point with as was the service. While waiting there is a cool art shop connected to the restaurant to browse as well.

I have been wanting to try this place and it was perfect on a cold day. I had their grilled cheese and tomato basil soup. Both were incredible! You can tell everything is made in the shop. Loved the bread on the sandwich, cheese was perfectly melted and the types of cheese were perfect together. The tomato basil was so fresh and I could go back just for that. Combining the two were perfection. The meal itself was around $20, so not cheap but great quality food. Sampled some amazing cheeses they had on hand. I can’t wait to go back.

Gold dealer
This downtown shop specializes in house-minted medallions, estate jewelry, gold nuggets and timepieces with designs inspired by Alaskan wildlife. The store also sells gold necklaces made from pieces of gold mined from the state's ground. Alaska Mint has been in business for thirty years, and is well known for its quality products and reasonable prices.
I don't live in Alaska but my best friend Holly Hart goes yearly. She brings me back the most beautiful treasures from the mint. I adore my little treasures and the quality is immaculate. The coin was from this year's trip. I believe the bear with his cute salmon is from two years ago. I can't wait to visit in person and meet all her friends!
Michelle B — Google review
If you are unsure about purchasing online through Alaska Mint do not fret. I have never been so impressed by the craftsmanship and service of a business. My partner and I were looking for beautiful and unique wedding bands and Alaska mint satisfied that tenfold. We were both blown away by the quality and beauty of our rings. On top of that, ordering online was such a smooth experience because of Hunter’s patience and kindness. We needed to resize and expedite one of the rings in less than a week down to Southern California and Hunter went out of his way to ensure that we could have them before our elopement ceremony. The quick turnover and commitment to their customer’s happiness was truly remarkable and completely unexpected. I was also super worried that I wouldn’t like it as much since I didn’t get to see or try it on in person. Again, Hunter answered all my questions and sent multiple pictures and videos of the various rings I was looking into ordering. Now that I have my ring I am so thankful for his diligence and support because I am even more obsessed with the ring in person. We have both gotten so many compliments and hope to direct more customers over to Alaska Mint!!

My son and I, visiting from Maryland, met Chris on the people mover going into Anchorage and after he recommended some great places to grab some breakfast in the area he mentioned he worked at Alaska Mint and invited us to stop by and he’d show us a real gold nugget. We ended up stopping by later that day and were welcomed by Chris. They have many beautiful items and I found the perfect gift for my other son who was graduating from the Anchorage Police Academy - one of their detailed minted coins. I highly recommend you stop by this place if you’re looking for unique gifts.

I’ve visited the Alaska Mint numerous times over the last 20 plus years and I have enjoyed looking through the store every time. Lots of neat things. As a result of my visits I knew the Mint was the place I needed to go when I wanted to get my wife a special ring. I worked with Michele to find a perfect ruby for the ring, and Chris spent time with me explaining the characteristics of the ruby I was to purchase. At that point Michele suggested that it might be better if she worked directly with my wife on the setting. A solid piece of advice as I’m sure she knew I was out of my area expertise. My wife and I are extremely happy with the ring, and working the Michele and Chris at the Mint was a lot of fun. This is the second time we’ve worked with the Alaska Mint on a significant purchase. The first time they replaced the stone on my wife’s wedding ring.

I loved stopping in and will be back! They have a huge selection of anything and everything and you're sure to find something for your collection. Most was out of my price range but that's a goal to have one day! The staff was super personable and I couldn't believe they just held out their hand and asked if I wanted to see something cool and set a $34,000 chunk of gold in my hand! I thought that was beyond cool and the fossils were way more money than I have to spend on a collectors item but I can dream!

This establishment has remained top-notch for decades! We first found this place about 20 years ago after a fishing trip - they are far more than a cold-storage. Their seafood is consistently high quality and packaged well. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable!

First time in Alaska: as someone who grew up in the Midwest (US), I wanted to try some “real” seafood. We decided to go to ‘10th and M Seafoods’ …. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful to seafood newcomers. We ended up getting a Dungeness Crab (these are pre-cooked and frozen), 1lb of shrimp and 1lb of salmon. This was definitely the best seafood I’ve ever had. If I’m ever back in Anchorage, I will be coming here again. We cooked our food the next day (attached photos), it was life changing… especially with the seafood seasoning they sell!
Kyle K — Google review
So happy I came across this shop. They have a really nice selection of fresh seafood as well as vacuum sealed frozen seafood. The two folks that helped me were incredibly friendly and very accommodating. I got a mix of fresh and frozen fish/crab. They packed it all up for me nicely and added ice packs. I had a 6am flight the next morning, so going in at 4pm the night before ensured my purchase would make it home before spoiling. I had no issues with the airline checking the boxes and everything looked/tasted great when I got home. Definitely coming back my next time in Anchorage!
Ryan M — Google review
This is a great place to get local seafood, many of them are wild caught. They have a large section for wholesale to restaurants, and a smaller portion dedicated to retail. It is that they sell to restaurants that they have a good variety and and selection of quality meats. They also ship, normally overnight, to the lower 48, so you can get good Alaskan seafood.
C N — Google review
Take your fish somewhere else for processing… I informed the staff that the fish was roughly filleted and asked them to please remove belly’s, ribs and rough edges. What a lousy job!! Not only was it grass and dirt in the vacuum packs but they left fins, belly’s and rib bones in a lot of fish. So inconsistent and for the price they’re charging should do better. Additionally I paid the extra fee for freezing and when arrived for pick up items were not frozen. Instead of refunding me what I paid for freezing they asked if I could come back later… what sense does that make when I came the day you told me to come for pick up. A business that has been around for so long you’d think they’d have more pride in their business… shameful won’t be returning and if you’re reading this I wouldn’t recommend you come here either.
Joyce D — Google review
Though small the selection is incredible! Friendly service and knowledgeable staff. I bought a bunch of smoked salmon to take back to LA (check out the last pic 😉) and u bought some fresh Rockfish and Salmon to cook on the hotel during my stay. The fresh fish was incredibly tasty with their lemon caper sauce. I also bought some hot reindeer sausage and that was very tasty as well. Will be making another trip there before heading home! Please click the 👍🏾if you liked this review and follow me for more reviews! Thank you.

If you are looking to bring fish or Alaskan Seafood home to the lower 48, then this is the place. They have the best selection: King Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Halibut, Red Crab Legs, Crab, Black Cod, etc. They know how to box it up and have it set up to board an airplane for your flight home. They are open until 6pm, so you can pick it up soon before your flight home allowing it to still be frozen once you get to your freezer. Definitely try the Salmon Steaks, smoked King Salmon, and the Boneless Halibut Steaks!

Nestled in the heart of downtown Anchorage, the Oomingmak Musk Ox Producers' Co-Operative is a treasure trove for those seeking unique Alaskan gifts. This Native-owned cooperative specializes in luxurious qiviut, an incredibly soft fiber harvested from musk oxen. Since its establishment in 1969, it has been dedicated to showcasing the artistry of approximately 250 Native Alaskan women who hand-knit exquisite hats, scarves, and gloves.
Must see when in Anchorage. Delightful shop with charming shopkeepers. Qiviut is a yarn made from the shed hair of muskoxen. It is luxuriously soft and all the products are made by First Nations people

I visited in February of ‘25 and I had a wonderful experience. The staff was so kind and helpful. I purchased a hat from them and it is so warm! I constantly get compliments on it and I tell people with glee that it supports Alaskans directly. This place is definitely worth a visit. Even though it’s expensive, you get what you pay for (greatness!). The photo is of the hat while I was at dinner in Anchorage.

This is a small store that serves as an outlet for the sale of knitted mainly scarves and head scarves made from the Musk Ox underwool or quivit. This is basically the wool shed from the belly of musk ox. As it is a naturally collected product and the animals are not shorn to obtsin it, quivit is naturally quite expensive. This natural product is super soft and super warm. The wool is not colored or dyed. There are several patterns that are knit by different tribes in Alaska. If the visit and decide to but, I don't think you'll be disappointed.

This shop is the nicest in downtown Anchorage! When the quilt and gift shops were slated for demolition the owners decided to combine them with their yarn shop across G St and the result is nothing short of amazing. What these people did in this small space with three distinct shops is a smashing success! I highly recommend and will definitely be back! Good job ladies!
