At The Dukes Beefeater, a delightful dining experience awaits you, especially if you're a steak lover. Their 10oz ribeye steaks are aged for at least 30 days and grilled to perfection, ensuring each bite is bursting with flavor. Accompanied by chunky triple-cooked chips, crispy flat mushrooms, juicy grilled tomatoes, and peppercorn sauce, this meal is truly satisfying.
We visited the Beefeater in Worksop as a treat for my other half and had a fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and quickly shown to our table by the lovely RAD, who took great care of us. There was no rush, and we were given plenty of time to browse the menu at our own pace. We ordered our drinks, starters, and mains—all of which were absolutely delicious! 😋 After finishing our meal, RAD offered us the dessert menu, and we couldn’t resist. The desserts were just as amazing as the rest of the meal. Everything was spot on—10/10 for the food, 10/10 for the service, and 10/10 for the price! We’ll definitely be back.

Pibs, Ben and Ryan who cooked and Donna and Lottie our servers were nothing short of excellent. Not a single think to complain about. All food was fresh, tasty and cooked to perfection right in front of us. Will be returning. Quality. Huge nod to the Chef's. Doffing my hat. Friendly, relaxed and cheery mood. Well done. Five star's.

Excellent service by Charlotte, Chantelle and Laine. Charlotte's recommendations for sauces to go with my starter and main much appreciated. Friendly, well groomed and hard working. A credit to Beefeater.

Fantastic place. Food is brilliant, and Abbey's customer service is outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble. She has now served us on two occasions, and both times was friendly without being overfamiliar. She is courteous and efficient and a credit to the organisation.. The Atmosphere is comfortable and cozy.

Had a great meal at the Dukes Beefeater. The food was spot on and the service was excellent. A special mention to Laura, who looked after us so well, friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. All the staff were welcoming and helpful too. Would definitely recommend!

If you're on the hunt for a cozy pub experience with delightful homemade food, look no further than the Three Legged Stool. This charming spot is known for its welcoming atmosphere and attentive staff who go above and beyond to cater to your culinary preferences—even if it means whipping up something off-menu! Diners rave about their hearty steak and ale pie paired with perfectly cooked steak-cut chips, making every bite a treat.
Nice clean and well presented. Black and blue burger with 2 large onion rings and a small basket of fries came in a brioche bun with a bit of salad.

Our first visit for an extremely long time! ( years) Partly due to bad food and service. However, my faith has been restored after today’s visit. Myself and my son had the Sunday roast and my hubby had the steak pie. Very reasonably priced in my opinion. Lovely fresh vegetables apart from the green beans but I can forgive that as the rest were delicious! Tender beef without bad fat and gristle running through it! Tasty stuffing and homemade Yorkshire pudding. Couldn’t fault it! My hubby thoroughly enjoyed his pie and the homemade chips looked delicious. Portion sizes were a bit large for us, but each to their own. Which meant that we didn’t order dessert…. Extremely attentive service from the young man that looked after us, sorry I can remember his name but we were on table 22 at around 1pm. He definitely deserves a mention and you should be very proud of this member of staff. We shall definitely be back when I refuse to slave away in the kitchen on a Sunday!

Finally somewhere local that does really good pub grub and not microwaved rubbish. Mixed grill was top quality meat, the gammon was probably the best I have ever had and although some of the meat portions were quite small, I didn't mind due to the quality. My only gripe was at £18 I would have expected the choice of sauce for the steak to come with it not an extra £3.50 thought that was harsh. Although this also sounds like a complaint, it's actually a compliment as I would love to keep going back as a family, it was that good but we have a vegan and a vegetarian and only a couple of vegetarian options and vegan options pretty none existent. Was hoping to book a family Xmas fayre but they have a vegan starter and desert but no vegan main, which seems a little strange. Like I say though that's just a moan because it prevents us going back as a family. All in all the food is really good quality, the young lad Henry was fantastic and did a real good job as well did the kitchen staff to produce such good food. Well done and be great if you could put a vegan main option on the fayre menu and a couple more on the menu. A simple pasta dish will do. You can do like all restaurants do a bit of pasta with tomato and chilli and charge the earth lol!!

The Three Legged Stool was once a public house that did a lunch menu but was revamped a number of years ago as a restaurant with a small bar area. All the staff were very welcoming and promptly dealt with our order for drinks and food. We felt that service was a little on the slow side as they were not very busy but it really didn’t detract from our experience. The food arrived as was hot and well presented.

Absolutely lovely food 😋 staff are brilliant. Pub is nice and comfortable. My partner is a fussy eater, the staff cooked him exactly what he wanted even though it was not on the set menu. Brilliant place ! Homemade food too ! 😋 I had steak and ale pie and it was amazing with home made steak cut chops too !@ 🎉30th April 🍽 we have just a lovely homemade Sunday lunch at the three legged stool🎉 Lovely food ! Lots of beef , lots of mash , we really enjoyed our meals 😋 best Sunday dinner I've had in months! Definitely worth a visit ! Fresh homemade food ! You can taste the difference, the staff are lovely too ! Very welcoming 🙏 and they even remember us from our last few visits 👍

A group of nine of us went to celebrate the life of my mums recently deceased husband. The young guy who came to take our order seemed a bit out of his depth. But he got it in the end. He served our drinks. We had to send my mums back to be changed as the glass had lipstick marks on a did the replacement glass. But the third glass was passable albeit very water marked. The meals took a long while to come, but we put that down to the fact there was nine of us. My wife and I ordered steak medium rare. Mine was more medium than medium rare. But my wife's was well done. Very well done. She said it was like shoe leather. But a member of staff said he would sort it out and offered to cook her one himself( I think he may have been the manager) and when the meal returned my wife said it was lovely. So he gets bonus points for that. Then we all ordered desserts. Again they took an age to arrive. I don't know why as none of us selected a cooked dessert we had ice creams and cheesecake. But they were all nice. All in all. The food was nice. But no better than a chain gastropub and the staff mostly young and inexperienced ( I know, they have to start somewhere) we enjoyed it in the end. I washed my hands after using the toilets only to find the only hand drier was out of order.

POOR Christmas dinner yesterday 😢 The starter was ok but the main had undercooked vegetables one Brussels sprout, The gravy looked like warm brown water, Roasted potatoes were very oily, not crisp. The Christmas pudding was very dry with little custard I had to ask for more. All this for £60 ahead Photos to follow make your own mind up ......

At The Cannon, the festive spirit is alive and well with a range of delightful offerings starting from November 13th. Guests can indulge in a Festive Set Menu, a special Christmas Day Set Menu, and even Party Buffets—perfect for creating cherished memories with loved ones in Worksop. This charming pub has garnered praise for its warm atmosphere and exceptional food quality at reasonable prices.
Consistently good food, well kept beer and friendly responsive service. Great value for money. I really enjoyed the sizzling pork tomahawk steak I had this evening; very tasty and a decent plateful - washed down with a pleasant pint of Stones bitter. Thanks again!

Really lovely pub, my mum had her 60th birthday here last night and they allowed us to decorate the tables, place a balloon arch, looked after the cake for us and reserve a section of the pub. The buffet they provided was delicious. It was a lovely evening and mum thoroughly enjoyed it

Excellent meal plenty on plate in fact too much for me . Piping hot sizzler unlike my previous one at another pub in the vicinity. Hubby only complaint no egg on his mixed grill (men)but he throughly enjoyed what he had . Excellent service with lovely staff . Thanks will call again .

We went for tea as we had a 40% off main meals voucher. It was very busy. The staff all remained calm and were polite and helpful. We had steaks which were delicious. Cook beautifully. We use the Cannon regularly and always enjoy ourselves.

Our server was Cat!! (Like the animal she said!) She was brilliant, very helpful and had a lovely positive smile and friendly demeanour. We live local but never really come in, we’ve been once in the 6 years we’ve live in the area, but the atmosphere and food quality, especially for the price, are fantastic. Really pleased with our visit today!

Nestled in the heart of Worksop, The Shireoaks Inn is a charming pub that offers a delightful blend of globally-inspired British cuisine and comforting classics. With its warm atmosphere and welcoming staff, visitors are treated to exceptional service that goes above and beyond—especially for those with dietary restrictions. Families will appreciate the kid-friendly options, including free meals for children, making it an ideal spot for gatherings.
On a random walk through Worksop we stumbled upon this lovely humble pub. We were welcomed into the establishment with a smile. A lovely warm atmosphere and beautifully clean toilets. Service was second to none. Our lb (4) has allergies and they bent over backwards to accommodate even cooking a jacket potato in place of the mash due to allergens! Meat was cooked to perfection! We will be returning and highly recommend! Plus kids eat free!! ❤️ Plus home cooked chips what a bonus!!

Called in today on the off chance. The owner found us a table. The staff were excellent, the food delicious and not a long wait , seeing how busy the place was. We will be visiting again when local.

This is a very popular pub, certainly on a Sunday. Excellent range of roast meals available, and generous servings. All staff worked very hard, and everyone was very pleasant and friendly. Nearby car park is free on a Sunday. The lemon meringue roulade was excellent.

Visited on 05.02.23 at 4pm for Sunday dinner. Table 18. I ordered the Roast beef, ( other meats available),mashed and roasted potatoes, carrots, peas, cabbage, all covered in a nice thick gravy. Piping hot food as you would expect, and a chocolate brownie cheesecake with ice cream to finish. Glass of fizzy orange to wash it down ( driving). £13:30 and a tip. Small issue with the desert but dealt with immediately. Plenty of staff to ensure efficient service, food took about 10mins, again, what, I would expect for hot fresh food. Football was showing on the TV screens. I've never eaten a meal here before but I would definitely recommend it and I'm sure I will visit again. Car park at rear of inn, free on Sundays, and I think the Inn reimburse you if you dine in their establishment in the week. I left the inn about 5pm. Perfect, thank you Shireoaks inn.

Nestled in the heart of Worksop, The Woodhouse Inn offers a delightful retreat for travelers. After attending a wedding nearby, guests have praised the warm and welcoming staff who make check-in and dining experiences enjoyable. The rooms are spacious and clean, featuring large windows and cozy bathtubs—though some might find the bathroom carpeting an unusual choice.
The room was clean spacious and warm. The bins unfortunately hasn't been emptied since the last guests, there was also an issue with one of the bath plugs missing the rubber seal. The lass behind the bar was very helpful and brought food to the room and was very understanding

we stayed at the Woodhouse inn after attending a wedding in Worksop, the staff member who checked us in and served us in the bar was so lovely and friendly, the room was clean and spacious, with a massive window and a bathtub. the only downside was carpeting in the bathroom which is a unique choice and very flat pillows. however after a night of dancing we all slept really well. thank you for being so welcoming.

Adequate amount of parking, not sure about free WiFi but can't hurt to ask. There a garden outside to sit in though it was slinging rain that day.

Decided to call in for something to eat. Well set out. Plenty of choice on the menu, decided to have a starter as well as main course. Bit of a shock when starter came, really generous goats cheese puff. Looked lovely and tasted even better. Had the Hunters Twist as a main, again generous serving well presented and tasty. This was a superb bar for drinking, with a vintage feel and electric atmosphere! Counter keeps with the presentation, staff were so friendly to chat with and the 2 for 1 cocktails were great. Pub
Nestled conveniently in the heart of town, Kilton Inn is a charming pub that exudes warmth and friendliness. Despite my visit coinciding with a wake, I was welcomed with open arms by the staff. The inn boasts an impressive selection of lagers and spirits, though it leans more towards these than real ales. For those who enjoy gin, you'll find plenty to choose from! While they don’t serve food on-site, ordering takeout is perfectly acceptable here.
Service great, atmosphere ok, not busy on Sundays @ 12- 4 pm when I visit, no food apart from bar snacks, but lovely traditional pub
Robert S — Google review
I can't say anything for the pub itself, however it is utterly disgusting that they allow this day in day out, this van has been entirely blocking the pavement for hours! If pedestrians aren't important to them I wouldn't trust them with anything else either.
Stacey K — Google review
Once again I was parked up close to the Kilton. Sadly I entered on a day there was a wake,, but still made welcome. Good selection of lagers and spirits. While they have John Smith's smooth and one other similar beer they don't have any real ale. So Gin it was. They don't serve food but were ok with me ordering a takeaway.
Ian G — Google review
My children are being forced to stay awake due to the loud music and total disrespect of the staff not keeping the volume of the music to a respectable level I think this is appalling as there is many families that live close to this pub and I’m near the manton sports club and can still hear it clear as day a report to council for noise pollution i think

This was a superb pub for drinking, set in the building of a former Wetherspoon's which the staff were knowledgeable about! The counter is bright and neatly presented, the interior has a warming, lush design and the live music area is a good addition for later on. I enjoyed a good pint of Staropramen, sitting at the very comfortable classic seating of a clean table!

Great town center pub.Not a regular now as I live out of town.Good prices and a great atmosphere. One of my favourite pubs now, and was when I first started having a beer, Fifty odd years ago.

Had a few pints of Guinness with blackcurrant I’ve paid my 40 pence extra for the blackcurrant. My last pint I couldn’t taste the blackcurrant I asked the barman to please put some more blackcurrant in he said it’s another 40 pence. What is going on in today’s society, no customer care no more. Children's swim lessons are always cancelled and they refuse to refund. When you email Your Space about this they just completely blank you, expecting you to disappear 🤷 when will they realise that I won't?
Scott N — Google review
My 2little ones go to swimming lessons in the little pool but the problem is I can’t watch them because the upstairs viewing area overlooks the large pool, so unless you can get to the far left front corner, you can’t see anything. The downstairs cafe seating area doubles as a viewing window, but it’s always full so can’t see anything there either. But the girls enjoy the swimming, the instructor is friendly and it’s good value compared to other pools.

My daughter has been learning to swim here for a few months and she is making progress being that she cried on her first day. The swim academy is great. My only worry is that the instructors do not get in the pool with the kids, which makes it a little harder for them to learn fast. Otherwise, great staff, great environment.
Ogu M — Google review
Usually very lovely whenever I go swimming around noon. Today it was an absolute catastrophe. I went at half past 7pm. As a medium fast swimmer it was literally impossible to do one uninterrupted length (either being kicked, splashed at or I could not overtake due to the small lane available) Half the pool was blocked for kiddies swim lessons and in the slow lane, there were little kids jumping in and out too. Other people told me that it is often like this unfortunately. I give three stars for the cleanliness, the friendly staff and the large changing facilities.

Constant swimming lesson cancellations! We have our two grandchildren on swimming lessons here and although they are good when they are on there is a stream of cancellations at no notice. My grandkids are in different classes 30 mins apart. The eldest is just under two and a half and the youngest 18months. They ABSOLUTELY LOVE SWIMMING. On Saturday the 5th June my grandson had his session as normal whilst his sister looked on in excited anticipation of her turn. Then when his session ended they were told her session was cancelled and she was t going to be swimming. If any of you have hearts and kids you can imagine the devastation this caused her, I write this review the following day and she is still upset about the whole episode, can you imagine her trepidation about going again and not being able to swim. Quite frankly I am appalled! Update: 3 Years since posting this, I can also add that based on experience I would suggest looking for coaching with smaller class sizes. This may be "reasonably" priced but my observations over the last few months have been such that I would argue these are less swimming lessons and more supervised splashes. We are in the process of looking at other options on the basis that double the price for double the progress is a quid pro quo.

Lovely and clean. Good covid implementation. Lanes were a little too crowded though for my liking. Will be looking for a quieter time. Overall though a nice place.

Pub
The Mallard Inn is a charming and cozy pub located within the station building, offering a unique experience for travelers. Despite its small size, it boasts an impressive selection of quality ales, including local brews such as Welbeck beers from the nearby Abbey. The atmosphere is lively and bustling, with patrons engaged in animated conversations. The pub also provides convenient access to the platform and offers simple snacks like sausage rolls and crisps for sale.
This was a fabulous pub for drinking, located conveniently in Worksop train station! The design maintains heritage and has a raw feel, seating is very comfortable and plenty of selection for beers on tap.

What a great little station pub. And a seating area outside too. Well worth a visit especially if you like real ale.
Donny P — Google review
A perfect station pub, it’s like a warm hug; cozy, tiny room, homemade sausage rolls, snacks and a small selection of great, well kept ales. It’s a remarkably comfy place to relax and wait for a train
Mat L — Google review
Proper traditional style pub, part of the station building. You can park there 80p for two hours but you have to use RingGo app. Good set of handpumps dark, bitter and pale and traditional home made sausage rolls and pork pies.
Dylan R — Google review
A station bar well worth staggering your 🚂 journey for but check the irregular opening times before doing so. Converted from the original station buffet makes it a perfect place to wait for your train. Check out any of the Welbeck beers brewed at the local Abbey, the 43 Degrees South was truly exceptional.

Excellently kept craft cask ales - 4x rotating. Friendly and knowledgeable staff - and punters. It’s a station tap with a car park big enough to park a motorhome for a couple of hours.

Belated review from visit Friday 28th July 2023. Had an overnight stay in Sheffield the night before (Thursday had visited all the pubs in Castleton - new town for me). Did my research and The Mallard @ Worksop popped up as having a beer festival and I'd not visited Worksop before. Happened to meet one of my regular co-volunteers from Tamworth beer festival in the Sheffield Tap so it was obvious we were headed to the same place ! Anyway the review. Excellent pub. The beer festival was the icing on the cake - a semi welsh theme with some beers probably not seen in the area before. Beer quality super, staff lovely, ideal location on Worksop Station (yes Northern Rail did let me down - 2 hour wait at Sheffield 😵). Main level is fairly small but nice cosy cellar bar in use when they have their beer festivals (quarterly I think ?) Just sausage rolls and pies for the food. Had two of the sausage rolls they are about 3 x the size of the Greggs variety, quality and filling. Will definitely bookmark a return visit to Worksop and here, due to the aforementioned Northern Rail didn't venture beyond the Mallard ... was good enough for me for the afternoon 👍. Back in Sheffield managed to sink a few halves in the Brown Bear and Head of Steam, also good pubs will review on here on a future trip. Thanks to the Mallard, staff etc Matty x

We visited The Unicorn at lunch time & sat at a table on the patio overlooking the river. We were served by Luke & Erin who were very friendly & I gave 5 stars for service, which was faultless. The food was great value & very tasty although I only had a light lunch. Overall a lovely pub, in a special location. Will be back.

The staff were really friendly and helped us find a dog friendly area to sit in. The food was delicious- there were some good veggie options that were a bit more interesting than the generic “halloumi mushroom burger” and Mac and Cheese. The drinks and food came quickly and was piping hot and fresh tasting. The pub does have a chain restaurant kind of feel, so don’t expect any local drinks on draft, but is a perfect dog friendly pub if you’re on a canal walk.
Sarah E — Google review
Given the food was nice, the service definitely let this pub down… We ordered drinks which didn’t arrive, until we had caught the eye of the waitress. The bottle of wine was then delivered warm. We placed the order after a considerable wait (which was not written down). A further 40 minutes passed during which we saw our order be brought out but returned before it arrived at our table. We watched the order sit under the heat lamps for a further 10 minutes. After then asking after our order it was brought straight out. The order was not as asked for and parts of it were cold. This is a shame as the food itself was nice. Unfortunately, we were not the only table experiencing this. To top it off the bill was wrong and had to be corrected. Thankfully, we had a 40% voucher for the mains. Long story short, we didn’t stop for dessert and wouldn’t return.
George C — Google review
Having stayed at the Unicorn hotel, on several occasions, we have always been aware that it was in need of updating, but it was always clean. As it is in a lovely location we have overlooked this and it is one of our go to places. We visited again on 27th September, however, on arrival we waited to check in. There were no staff on the bar and we were ignored by a couple of staff. Eventually a lovely young lady came to check us in, as well as trying to serve on the bar. She was working very hard and trying to cover all areas. She was trying her best under difficult circumstances, which we appreciated. There was a lack of staff, tables we left with glasses and dirty plates of food and the tables were very sticky. Our room was cold and it was obvious that the heating was not working and there was a tiny electric blow heater. The curtains were hanging off and there were lots of cobwebs, this aside the bed was comfortable. In the morning we tried to shower and the water was tepid at best. It is a terrible shame that it is so run down, with few staff. It is in the need of a refurbishment and better management.

Easy booking. Pleasant but overworked & slightly inefficient staff. Very busy due to 40% off vouchers. Good value menu. My pie had really hard pastry but otherwise very enjoyable & lots of veg. My coffee order got forgotten about.

We were camping around the corner so I called up a few days before to see if they did takeaway as we really wanted to have something in the tent so they said yes they could theyd do it in foil containers. So we then all work out what we'd like from the great menu and rock up at the bar to order only to be told no they just don't do takeaway. I said I'd called up and had been told they do so then got told they could put food in containers stock arrives in 'I suppose'. We did eat at the pub as by now people wanted to eat and yes we had a lovely meal but as we were camping we wanted the experience in the tent and if the person on the phone had just said no we don't do takeaway we would have explored another option. It just wasn't good communication unfortunately but must make it clear the food was very nice.

We didn’t say so we don’t know what the rooms are like . My family and I came for Sunday dinner on the 28th of September it’s was 1:00 clock only one member of staff on the bar and it was her 1st day she didn’t look like she knew what she was doing felt sorry for her she should of some to help not been left on her own , as I walked to the main entrance to tell a young lady that we had a reserved a table for a Sunday dinner I explained we had a dog she just told me to go sit anywhere in the bar area didn’t even as any of my details which I found appalling so myself and family walked out End up going elsewhere we won’t be returning

Absolutely awful customer service and I didn’t even get chance to enter the pub. For starters the pub states on Google that it closes at 11pm not 3pm. Me and my partner went to enter the gates and some guy shouts to us to walk around. Don’t even know if he worked there or not. If he did work there, he was far from presentable for a working environment. We walk around for 10 minutes cannot finding another entrance, so we attempt the gates again. Just to make it clear, we are not from the area so we wasn’t sure where to go. The same guy who told us to walk around abruptly tells us that the pub is closed and that he told us before. I can assure you he didn’t tell us and it was quite clear he was pulling our legs. My partner couldn’t shut the gate so the unpresentable worker started muttering some BS. Not quite sure what he was saying as there was a lot of traffic, but it probably a torrent of abuse. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from people who are paid to do a job. If they do close at 3pm on a Monday then they need to update their times on Google. Honestly, if I visit Newark again I will avoid this pub like the plague just for the pig ignorant staff.

My wife and I visited The Duck for first time last week. We don't mind a bit of ambient music in any pub but PLEASE not rave/anthem rubbish. And PLEASE not at a volume where I had to shout so the barmaid could hear my order and not could I hear what she said. Unlikely to go back.
