We visited with a viator winery tour. Our guide, Daniele, was fantastic. I think the winery tour person's name was Lauren, but I am sad not to remember. She was top notch and knew everything about the wine business. Her talk was so informative. And she was delightful to visit with. We were served three very nice high end classic wines, We were also served bread with their own grown olive oil + slices of pecorino cheese + prosciutto meats. Not only did we have a great time, we also received a great education about how wines are made. Besides the winery there is a hotel where you can stay and enjoy the beautiful pool.

We had a great stay at Fattoria Viticcio. The staff were kind and helpful and the pool was an amazing feature during the hot, summer days. We also did the winery tour, which was informative and interesting. At night, the constellations are in full view.

We had a lovely 3 days here. The views, pool, wine tour are all great. The accommodation had everything we needed. Matteo was very helpful and friendly.

We had a great time staying here. It's ideally located 1 hour away from Florence and 5 mins away from Greve in Chianti (which means that if you have a car, you can find yourself in all the loveliest spots of Tuscany quite quickly) but, as it is in a high altitude wineyard, you feel like you get to enjoy Tuscany all for yourself. The staff were super nice and welcoming, the room was HUGE and the view you get when you open the window is worth the stay. On top of that, we also enjoyed a tour and tasting in the winery and it was lovely. Highly recommended for people looking to avoid the more crowded, expensive hotels inside the villages in the region.

Went there for the wine tasting + tour so no idea about the accommodation but we had a great experience! They did a great job to renovate the whole place: the wine tasting area is comfortable and sleek, the explanation was on point and the snacks very much needed. Excellent quality and variety of wines!

We booked to stay at Viticcio having had a friend recommend it. We actually made the reservation directly with the vineyard back in October 2024 for 5 days between 2nd-8th August 2025. On arrival we were told that there was a ‘gas problem’ in the villa we had booked and were offered two alternatives. One had bunk beds (we have a 17 year old boy who is 6’2) and one which only had one bedroom and one bathroom (the villa we booked had 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms - we’re a family of 4). Our two sons would have to sleep on a sofa bed in the lounge/kitchen area. This latter option was unfortunate but better than two tall teenage boys in bunk beds. Imagine our surprise when we discovered the villa we originally booked has actually got a family staying in it the whole time we were there! When we asked the Receptionist she said that they ‘were friends of the owner and therefore didn’t mind the gas leak and smell’!!! So just a warning… I’m not sure if they double booked us but we didn’t feel we were very well looked after. Also, as the previous reviewer said, there was a very loud party with music throughout one of the days which really affected our enjoyment.

The winery is modern and stunning. The view is breathtaking! As for accommodation in the agriturismo – the place is amazing and unparalleled. However, the rooms are too outdated. Even an authentic design can be made a bit more pleasant. Additionally, there is no sofa to sit on in the room. In my opinion, it’s not luxurious enough.

This was an amazing tour and total experience! Our tour guide, representative, wine educator, etc was excellent! Her knowledge of the property, the amazing history, and wine was so very nicely portrayed in her excellent tour. The history here is stunning too. Wines were so very good that we bought a case to be shipped back home, to the states. Check on buying wine, as they price it with shipping. The property is gorgeous and historic! Highly recommend this particular winery to visit and tour when visiting the area!

A must go. Breathtaking views, fabulous tour and amazing food/wine. There’s lots of rich history here and the tour is a great way to experience the entire area. They also farm their own fresh honey, oil, and balsamic vinegar. One of our favorite experiences in Italy so far!

This is an amazing winery with a seriously rich history. The location is beautiful and the wines are great. Our host talked about the history, production techniques, and wines with a lot of passion. It was a joy to listen to her. Highly recommend to visit this place.

We did the wine tasting and tour with my friends. I really enjoyed the tour. It was well explained by the guide (I don’t remember her name, but she was very lovely and made it engaging and interesting). The castle has a nice history and offers great views. The tasting part was also very enjoyable. I recommend it!

Castello di Verrazzano is a must-visit in Chianti! The setting is breathtaking – a historic castle surrounded by vineyards and rolling Tuscan hills. The tour was well-paced and informative, taking us through the ancient wine cellars and sharing the rich history of the estate. The wine tasting was generous and well-explained, with a great selection of Chianti wines, including the Riserva and a delicious Soleila. We also did the lunch pairing, which was fantastic – local, fresh, and beautifully presented. Everything from the views to the wine to the hospitality was outstanding. A perfect Tuscan wine experience!

We had such a lovely experience! I was on the lookout for a small, family-owned winery with quaint, local charm and a commitment to quality and sustainability. Montefioralle did not disappoint! The drive up to the winery is a stunning adventure in and of itself. Definitely pay close attention to the directions they provide — super helpful! We arrived and had a few moments to take in the spectacular view just as a rainstorm was rolling in. The rain, thunder, and lightning made the experience even more magical! Manila was so welcoming, knowledgeable, and helpful, and the wines were delightful (even for young wines!). Looking forward to opening our bottles in a few years after they’ve grown up a bit more.

We last minute booked here and I’m so happy we did! We got a tour, great explanations of the process and the wines. Got to taste multiple wines with each a plate of snacks! Snacks were delicious !!! And to top it all off, A BEAUTIFUL LOCATION

Alessia gave us a wonderful experience as she shared the history and wine process to us. As it is a family business, she shared her passion for this winery that her grandfather started many years ago. The wine tasting was very educational. We enjoyed our light lunch on-site. Nearby is a great spot for dining and shopping, a beautiful, quaint village nestled in the hills of the Chianti area of Tuscany.

Absolutely fabulous local winery - My family and I throughly enjoyed an intimate tour of the winery and tasting of the wines. Alessia was very knowledgeable and gave us a great insight into the history of both the winery and Chianti wines. One of the highlights of our trip!

This is a lovely family owned and operated vineyard. Their Chianti was the best Chianti we had while our stay in Italy. This is a small quaint vineyard with a sweet little history. The food provided with the wine was very nice as well as the view of Montefioralle. It was worth taking a little extra time to visit to little village to us. I would recommend parking in the parking provided by the vineyard and walk to the village from the parking lot as there is limited parking in the village. We found a cafe open and enjoyed splitting a delicious panni while taking in the quaintness of the village. We enjoyed the experience.

I can fully recommend the wine tasting. We had a small tour through the cellar. Very interesting and well explained. Then we tried 4 wines with some food. For the price of the tour the value was very good with sufficient wine to test in our glasses. Not all of the wine was fully our taste. But 2 of them met our taste very well, so we bought some of them. Overall a nice experience with great views from the terrace.

This wine tour was part of our day trip with Simone w/ Tuscan Private Driver. What an amazing expierence for my family and I. Giuditta was our host and was so full of life. She was very passionate, positive and had such good energy. I'm am a novice when it comes to wine making and tasting but she inspried me to learn more about the country, the region and the process. The wine tasting was great and it was paired with some delicious antipasto. We also met the owners which were very nice and welcoming. I had a case of wine shipped and I can't wait until it gets here!!!

Fantastic family owned winery! The owners stepped into town so their family friend gave us the tour. Showed us the process how the make the wine, thoroughly explained each vintage and variety, and provided incredible food to enjoy during the tasting. Such an incredible experience! Wonderful Winery! Our second visit to Altiero (this year and last). The wine maker/owner and staff are all so friendly and the wine and olive oil is amazing. We had some shipped back home. Last year we had lunch at the winery and it was fantastic. Would highly recommend!

A Great Experience Full of Flavor and Insight We had a fantastic time! Our guide was knowledgeable and shared so many fascinating insights about winemaking. The tasting took place in a beautiful setting, and the tagliere was absolutely delicious. We truly enjoyed every moment!

It was truly amazing! We did the wine tasting with Martina, she was so kind and explain to us everything so clearly, and we ended the experience with a beautiful picnic in the vineyard. From start to finish, everything was just perfect we had the most wonderful time!

Catarina was a very competent and charming guide through the winery. She gave us a better insight into Chianti Classico and the winemaking process than other tours we had been on. Highly recommended!

We had an icredibly interesting wine tour through the wineyards, the production site and the wine cellar with Giulia. She is an expert in oenology and has a deep knowledge in wine production. Such a breathtaking place! Wow from arrival to departure. The staff is genuinely amazing. Always helpful and friendly. Rooms were great and impeccable - great standard. A beautiful kitten was playful and sweet. And of course the wine - every sip, every bottle was delicious!

Absolutely 10/10 ! Could not fault Castello Vicchiomaggio at all. We made the mistake of arriving a day before we had booked and they straight away had a room ready for us and even upgraded us for our normal booking ! The staff were all knowledgeable and super helpful for every little thing. All the facilities were amazing and the dinner and wine cellar tour was the best part. The pool was also a beautiful way to cool down on the hot days we were there. I would give 10 stars if I could !

It is a unique experience to spend at least a night in this location. The room we stayed in was huge, clean and decorated with good taste, keeping the ancient atmosphere. It features a kitchenette in case of need. The infinity pool has breathtaking views and it's a perfect relaxation location. It's a pity though is not heated, but also understandable for the region, as not quite needed normally. Still, the 18 degrees water temperature in the late October days was a bit too challenging, still.

We had the pleasure of staying four nights, dining and touring Castello Vicchiomaggio. The Castello and grounds are truly magical with sweeping views sitting atop a hill. The Castello is beautifully restored with modern amenities and immaculately clean. We stayed in the incredible valley view apartment which was very spacious with many large windows overlooking the Chianti valleys and vineyards and a convienient kitchenette. Wifi connection was sometimes limited in our apartment. We enjoyed our wine tour here and dinner. The Castello and winery is family run which made it extra special - family and staff were exceptional hosts. There were a set of stairs to reach the grounds/restaurant and another to reach our apartment (to be mindful of depending on your mobility) - staff were kind enough to help with our luggage. If you are visiting, there is a building by the entrance at the bottom of the hill for wine tasting. If you dine at the restaurant (or possibly book one of their wine tours), you drive up the hill which takes a few mins for the best view and to enjoy the grounds. Big disappointment. I booked a valley view room for 2 days. The view from the room is of a wall from 2 small windows (first 2 pictures - with my hand to judge the size). The valley view is from a closet space where a single chair fits (third picture). Window too high and too small to see anything from the chair but the sky. All I can say is DO NOT book a valley view. Our room came with 2 complimentary coffee pods. “Additional coffee pods can be obtained at the front desk for 1 Euro.”. They take the nickel and dime approach.

The place is magical and spotless clean. Our room was beautiful, breakfast delicious. However, bedding was unacceptably uncomfortable, the mattress was not good quality, sheets and pillows were not the best quality. Also, our room didn’t have WiFi so we had to connect to another room WiFi and the signal was very weak.

We stayed at Castello Vicchiomaggio during our road trip through Tuscany. The setting is beautiful, with scenic views all around and a peaceful atmosphere — the location is definitely the highlight of this property. We were in the Cosimo room, which was clean and quiet, but the decor felt quite bare and the bed was smaller than expected. The towels left fuzz everywhere, which became a bit annoying, and trash bins were oddly hard to find, even outside — something we noticed while trying to clean out our car. Breakfast was fairly limited, especially considering the price. There were just a few kinds of bread, cheese, meats, yogurt, fruit, and some hot dishes like scrambled eggs and frittata. It felt more like a budget offering in an otherwise premium setting. We had dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was genuinely delicious. However, it’s closed every other day, which could be inconvenient if you don’t have a car — there’s nothing within walking distance. Also, no one offered to help with luggage, which wasn’t a big issue for us but might be for others, given the narrow castle stairs. The infinity pool area is lovely, but the toilet and changing facilities nearby felt outdated and not in line with the overall price and presentation. On the positive side, the staff were friendly and welcoming, and the wine tasting and lunch experience was excellent — definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Overall, Castello Vicchiomaggio is a scenic and charming property, but there are quite a few details that felt overlooked or not quite up to the standard one might expect in this price range.

Gorgeous winery 🍷 Amazing location for private events and tours! We had a small family gathering here and it was truly amazing. The wine was delicious, and the food was equally excellent. This place would be perfect for a wedding as well. the setting is beautiful and unforgettable. The staff made the experience even better: Marianna was extremely helpful and professional, and Sibilla was incredibly understanding and attentive. Highly recommended!

We had our wedding at Riseccoli and everything was more beautiful than we could have imagined. Mari and her team were phenomenal and the local vendors they work with were all excellent. I would recommend this venue 10000% and their wine is great too!

Beautiful winery, the host was very passionate explaining to us the different kinds of wine and how they use old and new methods. We did wine tasting paired with some bread dipped in their homemade balsamic in addition to some cheese. It was a nice experience

We visited this winery as part of a full day wine tour through Tuscany. We loved our time at this winery getting to know the area and learn more about grapes native to Greve in Chianti. The wine was also phenomenal!

We celebrated a two day wedding at Tenuta Riseccoli and it was just amazing. The location is absolutely beautiful, the view mind blowing and the staff more than friendly and helpful. They helped us with every question and made it a perfect experience. Our guests and we just loved it. The venue is beautiful, you can enjoy the day at the pool and celebrate a pizza party at the evening with an amazing sunset. The staff from Tenuta Riseccoli organized the pizza party for us and took care of everything so we didn’t have to organize anything for the night. They also offered a really nice wine tasting and helped with extra wishes like baby Bed, tape and so on. They are very experienced yet emotionally involved and try everything to help make your wedding a perfect experience. Can’t thank recommend them enough! One of the nicest host we have ever been to. Thank again lovely Riseccoli team. We will definitely coming back.

Beautiful wines as apart off the tour, young host had extensive knowledge of all wines within the region and was passionate about the culture and heritage from her winery. Very professional tour and beautiful outlook on local flora and fauna.

We did a wine tasting here yesterday with Diego, the winemaker. What a fabulous experience. We loved every minute and all of the wines. You can really taste the love and passion that Diego has for winemaking in the final products. All his wines are extremely well balanced. Do yourself a favour and make a reservation to hang out with Diego for a while, you won't regret it

Writing this as we are drinking a lovely bottle of Chianti Classico from Ca’ Di Pesa! Could not recommend taking a trip to this winery enough, Diego made us feel very welcome and was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly had a great passion for wine making. Great value for money and is a must visit if you are in the area.

My brother and I absolutely loved our time at Ca’ di Pesa yesterday. It’s very different from all of the other Tuscan wineries we visited, as it’s a micro winery passion project. The winemaker, Diego, could not have been more welcoming and friendly. He showed us around his operation, explained the history of how it came to be, and then allowed us to taste his 4 wines. We were very impressed with all of them, but found the Chianti Classico DOCG RISERVA 2017 to be stellar and shipped a lot back to the US. The olive oil was very good as well. Overall, the view from the winery is amazing, the villa is charming, the wines are smooth, and Diego is awesome. Highly recommend!

An experience that DON'T disappoint! A smaller scale winery which had long history (Guess who once lived here... The Monalisa's family) and focus on producing only the best quality wine. Diego, the actual winemaker was there to host us. We were curious about everything and started asking lots of questions and Diego was so nice and passionate to explain and educating us. We had just a wonderful time and of course, bought some lovely wines home to pamper ourselves. Definitely recommend to anyone who are in Chianti classico region to pay a visit. ^__^

Small vineyard and winery in a gorgeous location. We did a wine tasting and tour a few years ago, July 2016 I believe. Diego was a wonderful host and guide, and our family of five had such a good experience. The wine (3 varieties) were great, as was the food. Highly recommended. English spoken.

Absolutely spectacular family winery we visited when traveling in around Chianti Classico. The wines are delicious, and the people were wonderful. We asked about some library wines, so Ioletta took us to the cellar to pick out anything we wanted. Every bottle we have opened since visiting has been just as great as we remembered. We have subsequently ordered multiple cases to be shipped since. Highly recommend.

We came here on a rainy weekday and had the pleasure to have Andrea, who runs Panzanello with his wife and family) all to ourselves. He took his time to explain to us some of the history and some interesting facts about the terroir, its plants and the agriculture/viniculture, as well as the wines. The wines themselves were very tasty and we took some home and will definitely be ordering them online once we finished the ones we bought directly during the visit. Andrea has great humour, is very friendly and knowledgeable about wine in general and has some very nice family stories to tell about Panzanello winery. Thank you for this nice meeting and the great wines you produce here.

We stayed for 2 nights and it really wasn't enough! The facility was wonderful as well as the hosts. Great wine and strategic location to explore Chianti.

We stopped by for a free wine tasting and stayed for lunch. Good wine, good food, nice view. I would drink more wine there but still had to drive on our road trip through Tuscany. The owner is quite funny.

This was one of the most amazing wineries we visited and a highlight of our trip. The owners are lovely, facility is incredible and the wine is superb (we bought a case.) Highly recommend! Just wish we had booked at least a few nights of stay here.

We had a fantastic time wine tasting with Angela, who guided our group of ten with the perfect mix of fun and knowledge. She kept things lively and engaging, and Frank, the owner, stopped by to say hello to our raucous crew. It was a relaxed experience... just drop in for a tasting and a wander around the vineyard. Great value at €10 per person, which comes off the bill if you buy a bottle. Highly recommend!

Fantastic visit! Had the pleasure of visiting while in Florence and had a great experience. From learning about the vines to sampling the wines, it was fantastic!! Angela was a fantastic hostess answering all of our questions. My only disappointments were that we were too early to taste their olive oil, and I didn’t have room in my luggage to buy more wine!!

Very nice winery, in a perfect location with great view. The host explained all you need to know about the wine making🍷. The wines are excellent and you taste the difference between them, exactly as the lovely host Giada explains. Great place to visit!!! Highly recommend. I wish there were also some cheese and prosciutto to come along with the wine, but the overall experience was fantastic 🍷

A Delightful Surprise at Il Molino di Grace – Greve in Chianti While passing through the area, we made a short stop and were spontaneously invited to a small, complimentary wine tasting at Il Molino di Grace. This beautiful biodynamic vineyard, just 8 km away from Greve in Chianti, welcomed us with genuine hospitality and a deep passion for their wines. The host took the time to explain their philosophy and winemaking process, and it was clear that everything here is done with great care and love for the land. The wines? Absolutely worth bringing home. A memorable and authentic experience in the heart of Chianti – highly recommended!

An unforgettable experience in the heart of Chianti! We had an amazing wine tasting at Tenuta La Novella — the setting is absolutely breathtaking, with views across the Tuscan hills that look like a postcard. But what truly made the experience exceptional was Martin. He was incredibly knowledgeable, warm, and passionate about the wines and the estate’s biodynamic philosophy. Martin guided us through the tasting with care and personality, answering all our questions and making us feel completely welcome. Every wine we tried was unique and full of character. We had an amazing experience with wine maker Martin, who gave us the tour of the facilities personally in English. This was followed by wine tasting, which included some 6 different wines that they produce plus honey and delicious olive oil. All very lovely and tasty products. Highly recommend! Amazing location and views as well.

We came for a wine tasting, and our guide was really knowledgeable. There were just two of us on the tour and the guide was extremely generous with his time, answering all of our questions and we had a good laugh. The location is stunning and the wines (and olive oil) were excellent!

We had a very nice experience with a private tour and wine tasting by our host and winemaker Martin. He told us about the wines and the process of making the wines, explaining everything and answering all our questions. The wine tasting was great and we got home with some fine bottles to enjoy at a special occassion. Martin is a truly genuine and knowledgeable person with a real passion for his craft. We did not visit any other winehouses here, but they all seem very commercial where Tenuta La Novella feels authentic and less commercial, with great quality wines in limited editions. Went up and got a wine tasting. The wine was amazing and Martin was extremely nice and very knowledgeable about his products. We as a family enjoyed the tasting and then purchased wine which will be shipped to home after we get home. I would recommend this to anyone.

We had a wine tour here today and was the best we ever had. Not only is the wine delicious but the attention and care given to the process is outstanding. The tour itself gave us a look into the history and life of the vineyard and felt so warm and friendly. We can’t wait to buy some more of their wonderful wine!

Very glad we found this gem at the end of a twisty gravel road with amazing views. We did a tasting and her English was perfect for explaining everything that went into the wine and what different characteristics the grapes gave to the final product. There are two massive dogs to greet you when you first pull into the parking spot. We ended up with six bottles of wine, a bottle of olive oil, and a desire to go back.

Gorgeous winery! The hospitality here is first class, and so are the wines! They welcomed us with open arms despite not having a reservation during the winter. The cute little dogs are an added bonus too!

We popped in for a wine tasting almost at closing time. Our host, owner, the wife of the winemaker told us beautiful stories upon our questions how the winery had been started many years ago. We tasted and loved the wines, our favorite was Chianti Classico Reserve 2018. However one of their non-Chianti wines was also something we loved. The tasting room built inside the cellar is very unique. We are thankful for the experience and we will return when we can.

We arrived at Casaloste spontaneously on our way though Chianti. Right after our arrival we were welcomed super nicely and got offered a wine tasting. Even there was a booking for others in 20min, they took their time to let us taste 3 of their wines. All of it was even for free. It was a great experience and all wines tasted amazing! Totally recommend a stop. Thank you!

The Cantina Di Nozzole was definitely the highlight of our tour along the Chianti Wine Route. Really worth a stop - we had the chance to taste some great wines and to chat about wine. Finally we were taken on a short tour in the wine cellar - really impressive! Took several boxes home. Thanks for this great experience!

We enjoyed a very informative and wide-ranging tasting of various wines from the Folonari portfolio. It was a casual experience, with some exposure to the various terroirs involved. There was no pressure to purchase anything, but just to explore and experience various wines from Tuscany. We had the opportunity to visit the barrel cellar and tasting in their Family wine cellar. Mille Grazie!!

We had a great tasting experience, Luisa was a great hostess. Really nice cellar and wine library as party of the experience. One thing that was particularly above and beyond: we were tasting the Cabreo 2019, one of their flagship super Tuscans, and they had opened the 1987 vintage as part of their ongoing experiments in how their wine ages so they poured us a little complimentary. Not every day you get to taste the same wine 30 years apart! Probably don’t expect that to happen for everyone but I think it goes to show the kind of passion they have and the positive experience.

Had a great time wine tasting with my wife! Our server/guide Marco was great and accommodated us just before closing which was greatly appreciated. The wine tasting exceeded our expectations and highly recommend to anyone visiting the chianti area.

We visited for a tasting. The space felt a bit underwhelming. The tasting room was bare and lacked ambience. The grounds didn’t have that charm we had hopped for. The building is new and lacks that timeliness that other wineries have. That said, the host was very knowledgeable.

Amazing wine tasting

My girlfriend and I have been planning a trip to Tuscany for almost a year, all the while trying many many bottles to find what was the right wine for us. We found Cabreo and decided this was the Tuscan for us. We booked the Super Tuscan wine tasting and could not have been more excited for the crowning moment of our trip. To say the least, we were disappointed. The tasting had two good wines and two "baby super tuscans" as they described. Wines for "everyday" drinking. While in and of itself, that's not terrible (I was actually excited to maybe find something cheaper that I'd love to have precisely as an everyday type), but these were rather unspectacular. Aged only in steel, these were really subpar wines for a tasting that costs as much as it does. The Cabreo and Pareto wines were class as expected, but tasting bottles that go for ~10€ retail isn't very inspiring. The tour part isn't exactly anything to behold. I've done a lot of tastings, and I would classify this as very topical. The cellar doesn't have any defining features besides their storage room of estate wines from years past. Lastly, and most enfuriating was the bottle prices. I was prepared going in to spend on bottles here. I was absolutely beside myself when I saw the pric list and knew I could buy a bottle of Cabreo for 5€ cheaper at my local wine store in Munich than in their own tasting room. After this relative let down of a tasting, this was the last straw. We left this tasting let down by: A) The quality of wine presented at the tasting. B) The relatively lackluster cellar C) The overpriced bottles of wine in the tasting room. I will continue to buy Cabreo wine in the future. It's genuinely my favorite Tuscan at the price (which I can buy down the road). But visiting this families tasting room left a lot to be desired.

Do yourself a favor and make a point to stop in at Le Fonti when you're in the region. We stopped in unannounced and without reservation for a tasting and yet were greeted warmly and quickly. We had rather randomly had a very nice bottle of Le Fonti wine (2021 Chianti Classico Reserva) at a nearby restaurant the prior night and then made a point of looking them up online and dropping in. We were not disappointed. The 5 wines we tasted were all wonderful and and the views from our vantage point were spectacular. Even more to the point, the woman giving us the tasting took her time and was very thorough in her explanations of the wines and of the estate. A 5 star experience for us.

A wonderful tasting experience with friendly, informative staff who know both the wines and the region. The wines were fabulous and the view incredible. The olive oil was also excellent. Definitely suggest putting Le Fonti on your tasting schedule for Chianti.

Nice winery with an amazing view. We received a tasting from the owner's daughter. She was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, her descriptions of the wines also included some food pairings that would go well with them. While there we also saw the Vespa that's on their bottles and all the animals that make it run! Very good wines with great views. We left with six bottles of wine and a bottle of olive oil. The location wasn't easy to find, but worth it.

We had an absolutely fantastic experience at this vineyard today. We only made our reservation this morning, but from the very first contact, we felt incredibly welcome. Communication was smooth and friendly, and when we arrived, we were greeted as if they had been expecting us all along. The location exudes authenticity and charm: a beautiful piece of nature surrounded by vineyards, where you instantly feel relaxed. Everything here reflects passion and craftsmanship, and you notice it in every detail. And then the tasting… the wine was absolutely exceptional! The tasting was accompanied by clear and enthusiastic explanations, making it both enjoyable and educational. The food completed the experience: delicious bites, perfectly paired with the wines. The cheese on the platter was of outstanding quality, an excellent match for the flavors in the glass. The host deserves special mention: incredibly friendly, welcoming, and passionate. He took the time to guide us through the entire process and answer all our questions. That personal touch truly made our visit special. We were so impressed that we, of course, didn’t leave empty-handed: several bottles of these amazing wines came home with us, so we can relive the experience later. In short: this is an absolute must-visit for anyone who wants to enjoy outstanding wines, delicious food, and warm hospitality in an authentic setting. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Incredible Wine, Location, Staff and Experiance! We started our tasting day in Montefioralle at Podere Bucini and couldn't have asked for a better time. We talked with one of the owners of the family estate as he poured our wines and talked through them with us. The wines were top class and very reasonably priced for both bottles and the tasting. I 100% reccomend anyone in Florence (via the 365A bus), Greve (a small walk to Montefioralle), or Montefioralle head along to this incredible location and get some seriously quality wines in!

We were so happy that Loretto fit us in for a beautiful tasting of 4 wines and plates of food! We love supporting family-owned businesses and we’re very happy for the chance to hear how they built up their wines for the Classico Chianti designation. What a job! If you are in the area, stop in. The wines are wonderful and so is the scenery.

Beautiful views. So peaceful. Delicious organic wines. Wonderful hospitality. Don't let the drive in scare you; it's a gravel road through vineyards. And when you park, you'll think there's no view, but just follow the sign to "wine tasting" and you'll be glad you stayed. Highly recommend.

We loved this winery and had such a lovely tasting. My wife and I were staying in Montefioralle so were able to just walk to Podere Bucine. The wine was excellent and we bought two bottles and at the end of the tasting hung out with the owner for a bit. The views were also beautiful and couldn’t be a better way to start our trip in Chianti.

We did not stay at night, but we did the wine tasting tour. Overall it's an okay tour and expensive (almost 40€) for what it is. It was very expensive compared to other locations where we did a similar tour (In France it's free. But we paid wine tasting in Spain, Portugal, Lebanon, Romania, South Africa). As well, the tour is polite but you don't feel the passion / the love / the commitment compared to other places we have travelled to. it gives the impression it was nothing more than work for the guide. We have just had much better and engaging times in other wineries. Explanations are okay, but nothing exceptional. The fact we did this tour in December limited the options around. There is no regret on our side, but the ratio experience/cost could be higher

The castle is in a very nice location to explore the region. They offered a wine tasting and a tour in the property that was super nice! We had a great time exploring the area. However I don't recommend going in the winter. We had very cold nights and the heating system wasn't enough to properly warm the apartment. We communicated this with the hotel but they didn't offer a solution.

Beautiful place. We didn't book a wine tasting tour but was able to walk in and do a quick tasting. The kids had a great time looking at the peacocks. Slightly pricier than other vineyards we went to but the wines were good. Overall a great spot!!

We had an amazing experience staying overnight. Definitely the highlight of our trip.

We stopped for a winetasting after emailing to make sure they were open to visitors. We found the tasting room and a woman served us. You could choose level of tasting and we went for the lot and tried everything. After 3 wines she disappeared, we later found out to lunch but she never told us or handed us over. We ended up waiting a lot and the guy who was filling in for her warmed up and we managed to enjoy rest of tasting. It's not that they were rude, they were nice enough but didn't really care that we had come to see them. We have just had much better and engaging times in other wineries. We didn't learn much from them, my husband read the booklet to learn more about the wines. Could be incredible. The grounds are magical and they had beautiful peacocks too.

We couldn’t have had a lovelier afternoon here. I was wondering how this place could get anything less that 5 star reviews and was reading others’ experiences about the wine tasting not being up to their standards. Sure, it wasn’t the most attentive and personalized wine tasting we’d ever had but that wasn’t necessary. The wine was delicious and I honestly liked the laidback vibe of both our wine tasting and the environment. This is an absolute must if you’re in the area, just breathtaking.

The wine is incredible!!! We were lucky enough to stay on-Site in the castle apartments and enjoyed every minute of it. The atmosphere is laid-back and we were treated just like family! I highly recommend stopping by or staying the night. Probably the coolest wine cellar I have ever seen, with wine dating back to 1904. They do have some beautiful peacocks on the property, but the wine is what I remember most and can’t wait to visit again!!

My fiance and I visited Vignamaggio to celebrate our engagement, and it was absolutely magical. The property and its views are breathtaking. The staff is incredibly friendly, especially Davide, who was so kind and helpful and took extra care in making sure we had everything we needed. And don't even get me started on the food- some of the best meals we had in Italy. We definitely plan to be back!

The rooms were very nice, clean and comfortable. I love the rustic nature and how the management has been able to maintain the 14th century buildings. The products in the shop were fantastic. The only minus is that we wanted the massage with oil but this was not available. The breakfast was very good with lots of varieties to choose from.

STAY HERE if you’re going to Chianti, it was a dream! We spent a LOT of time vetting different hotels, resorts and B and Bs throughout all of Chianti and were so glad we found the Casolese at Vignamaggio. The grounds were beautiful, the infinity pool was perfection, breakfast and dinner were delicious and had wonderful home-made options... it was a perfect stay. We enjoyed walking around the surrounding olive groves and really appreciates the team’s upgrade the gave us to a one-bedroom suite to help us celebrate our honeymoon. They were very helpful prior to the stay and provided great information on surrounding vineyards, the bikes on property and everything really. Wine in-room and coffee/tea was included and we had just the most lovely stay. Staff was fantastic and we will be back! Sunset was killer - make sure you plan to be there for that. :)

Absolutely beautiful Tuscan winery! We 'got lost' in the Tuscan hills and stopped at Vignamaggio to ask directions. The staff was SO welcoming, and the property so stunning that we stayed for a tour and lunch. Our tour host was passionate and informative as he described the history of the winery, as well as the process of wine making. Our 4 course lunch was delicious and paired with 4 distinctive, delightful wine selections. We bought a couple of bottles to enjoy at our B&B during our stay in Bella Toscana! Beautiful property with great staff. Enjoyed the wine tasting with amazing cheese and charcuterie. Will have to come back to stay and for dinner! Most of the food they raise and grow on their property and if they dont they keep it all local.

We had a fantastic guided tour with Emma, who provided an engaging and informative experience from start to finish. Her deep knowledge of the entire wine-making process, combined with her passion, made it impossible not to develop a new appreciation for wine. The views from the terrace were stunning, and the wine tasting was thoughtfully organized, offering great insight into the characteristics of each of the three wines. Emma also took the time to answer all our questions and even gave us a detailed explanation of the olive oil production process. Highly recommended!

We visited for a wine tasting in late September. We popped in without a reservation—something we did not regret! Luckily, there was a table available for the two of us on the outdoor terrace, with amazing views. In short, it’s a relatively small winery set in beautiful scenery. The wines (as well as the olive oil!) were excellent, accompanied by a professional and friendly presentation. Thanks for a wonderful experience!

Amazingly cute and picturesque winery. Not one of the big corporate wineries. This family run establishment boasts incredible views, friendly staff, and wonderful wine. All wines were 4.1 on Vivino or better!

Montecalvi is a small but mighty winery just outside Greve. It is a must-visit both for the wines and for the views. It is such an enjoyable place to visit- it's not a commercial large scale operation, rather it is small and intimate. The wines are fabulous, as is their olive oil. If you don't want to do the full tasting, you can simply enjoy a glass or two of their wines. Accompanying the wine is a plate of bread with their olive oil which is incredibly delicious. Their wine prices are very fair for an extraordinary product and experience. Do not miss this winery - it is one of the best in Tuscany. Lorenzo is the manager and he could not be more friendly or accommodating. Enjoy!

We came here without a reservation just to drink a glass of wine and it was lovely. The view from the terrace is beautiful and the atmosphere is very calming. We drank rose and it was very good.

My stay at Podere Campriano was absolutely perfect. The location is unbeatable as it is just a short walk to Greve and convenient access to buses for exploring nearby towns. The apartment was spotless, well-equipped, and incredibly comfortable. Elena and her family are warm, generous hosts who clearly take great pride in their beautiful property. Their genuine hospitality made the experience even more special. The cooking class, held in a stunning new outdoor kitchen, is an absolute must, fun, delicious, and unforgettable. The pool is exceptional, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding countryside. This was my second stay at Podere Campriano, and I can’t wait to return again!

Our stay at Elena’s was a truly magical experience. This was the first stop on our honeymoon and the property was even more incredible than the photos. The cooking class with Elena and Pietro was the highlight of our trip - so personable, excellent food and wine - and we can’t wait to make the recipes at home. And the breakfast! Everything was phenomenal. Elena is a wonderful host and made us feel right at home. The perfect first time in Tuscany and honeymoon destination, we can’t wait to return.

Elena’s place is pure magic. You can tell she has put her family’s history and her own heart into it. Simply AMAZING! There are no words to describe how wonderful it was to stay with Elena and her family for 6 nights in May 2025. Awesome location, wonderful wine, and the most beautiful Italian family you will ever meet. Elena is THE BEST. Pietro is so knowledgeable and you can tell he loves what he is doing. Don’t even get me started on the dogs (Hector & Rio). Whatever you do, please take the cooking class. It was the highlight of our 16 days in Italy. Oh my, I almost forgot breakfast. This was my 2nd time taking a cooking class and wine tasting and tour at Podere Campriano vineyard. The best cooking class in the chianti region. My small group experienced the delicious family recipes of Elana and her son Piatro. Everything but the fresh pasta was cooked in an outside wood burning stove. We left confident that we could prepare everything they taught us for our families at home. Podare produces an amazing selection of delicious Chianti Classico wines. We are all looking forward to visiting this amazing organic vineyard again soon. Highly recommend!

Wonderful scenery and wine! Michael was very kind, informative and is clearly a master of his task. He explained the science, the current challenges and the local background of the vineyards here in a very interesting and understandable way. The wine was great too, I’m not usually a fan of red wine but these were great! I would recommend this to anyone with either basic or extensive knowledge on wine, we were a mixed group and all had a lovely experience. Thank you Michael!

A stunning winery up in the Panzano hills dedicated to traditional methods, and crafting truly superb wines. We had a great visit at Monte Bernardi in October 2023, under the guidance of Jacy, our very knowledgeable and welcoming guide. Tasting the estate's wines was a treat, and we are looking forward to purchasing Monte Bernardi's wine in Canada.

What a lovely winery. It came recommended to us by the master sommelier at Frasca in Boulder, CO and it couldn't have been better. Our host Chiara was so knowledgable and accommodating, and the tasting was wonderful. Our group purchased several cases for shipment back to the US, which arrived very shortly after we returned home. Recommend it highly!

One od the best wineries in the region! Chianti classico olé! We love their Retromancia and also all more complex wine, you cannot miss by choosing any! Go for it, really. Also the view and the service around is just superb. The wine here is not overpriced as we've seen in other places. We have been here three or Four Times in last six years and always leaving with moře than four sixpacks of bottles!

My brother and I signed up for a virtual wine tasting with Michael Schmelzer having come across him in a Biodynamic wine-making course. We were based in the UK so we ordered some wines ahead of time and they arrived quickly. On the night - samples opened! - Michael took us for a virtual tour of Monte Bernardi with an in-depth look at his biodynamic farming processes and tasting notes to accompany the wine. The wine was delicious and Michael a very engaging speaker and we thoroughly enjoyed the session leaving us with the desire to visit Monte Bernardi in person in the future.

We love this place! We had the opportunity to taste their wins a few years ago and haven’t stopped talking about how much we love them. We were traveling to Florence and arranged to stop for a tasting. Alessandro was amazing! Such a nice guy! He showed us the process and gave a tour of the grounds. We tasted several wines and cheeses. We left with 13 bottles and wonderful memories.

Alessandro was a wonderful host and guide! This winery is truly a gem - and just 20 minutes outside Florence! We had a private tour, delicious cheeses, bread and olive oil, and of course - the wine! Each glass more delicious than the last. We couldn’t help but go home with several bottles of the Chianti Clasico (and of course we learned where we can purchase more Ottomani wine in the States!) A lovely small winery. Enjoyed the tour where the wine marker showed us the vineyard and winery. He went into detail about the different wine making techniques. They have a great range of wines which are beautifully structured and delicious. Would highly recommend.

Super friendly hostess who was happy to answer all our questions – very knowledgeable and attentive. The wines are excellent, and the winemaker truly stands out with their production process and organic approach. We could visit without an appointment and even bring our dog. Highly recommended!

This place was great. It was super relaxing to sit and enjoy the wines of the wine tasting. The guy was very passionate about what he does and explained everything very well in English. He also speaks french. The wines tasted great and we could hear the subtle sounds of someone playing guitar in the distance. Everything was very clean and we'll kept and the seats outside were very comfortable. Overall it was a great experience that I would absolutely do again.

We had a fantastic time here despite US arriving 1 day early (oops!) The team accommodated us and Bernadete gave us a fantastic tour of the whole history and process of the wine making at Cafaggio. This was finished off with a fabulous wine tasting with meats and cheese which really encaptured the essence of wine making . Set in the back drop of Tuscany’s rolling hillsides I would give more than 5 stars if I could. Irene was very helpful with all her communications . A must place to go although a little off the track . Thank you Team Cafaggio .

She set up a tasting for us and we tasted around 6 different red wines and the Olive oil. The wine was amazing and our host could not have been nicer. Needless to say, we left with quite a few bottles. Fantastic!

We had an amazing time at Cafaggio. Benedate organised a private tour for us on sunday morning and she took all the time to show us around the property and the entire wine making process from picking the grapes all the way until it goes in the bottle, labels are attached and the bottles go in boxes. Afterwards we tasted all 6 of their wines with a plate of cold cuts. We enjoyed everything from start to finish and the wines are really great. We can extremely recommend a visit to Cafaggio and hope to be back ourselves one day.

This was a great experience. We toured the winery from end to end and it was done with great explanations and information from our hostess, Benedetta. Well worth the time and effort to get there, it's out of the way and the road's pretty rough. Great place and very fun.
