Tennōzu Isle, located in Odaiba, is a trendy waterfront district with galleries and murals on Bond St. The area features a long wooden walkway lined with an excellent collection of restaurants and shops, making it a great option for a date. This artificial island was built on top of an Edo period fortress and hosts frequent events and workshops. Visitors can explore the Terrada Art Complex, which showcases the work of upcoming Asian artists.
This canal-side path is quiet, even on weekends, making it a great spot for a peaceful walk. There are benches where you can sit and relax. Depending on the time of day, you might even see fish jumping in the canal.

A nice, quiet place to come and feel the river breeze. Good to take some pictures as well.
Yoshi M — Google review
It’s very pretty here. There is a nice walking trail, too. A great place to spend a morning!
Dana H — Google review
You can enjoy the authentic gentle breeze and the town is built as the concept of Art
Go N — Google review
Good and peaceful place for an evening stroll away from the business of central Tokyo
Leon L — Google review
Warehouse Terada, the owner of Tennoji, has produced the entire area. It's an area like no other in Japan, and if you live in Tokyo, it's worth a stroll.
Verónica M — Google review
I really like staying in hotels in this quiet and peaceful area of Tokyo. It’s very conveniently connected by train and monorail both with Haneda airport and central Tokyo as well as Odaiba.
Dagmara W — Google review
A nice and a bit fancy place. Parts of AKB48's music video Amanojaku Batter were shot here. In Edo period daibas or protective forts were built in Tokyo bay and Tennozu isle later grew to swallow one of those daibas. I enjoy the living history of this place.

Nature & Parks
Rinshi-no-mori Park, located in Meguro, Tokyo, was originally the Meguro Experimental Nursery established in 1900. This expansive 120,000sqm park features a diverse range of beautiful trees and offers a serene escape from the city with its towering zelkovas, poplars, and camphors. The park's lush forests were cultivated to determine which trees could thrive in Tokyo's urban environment.
We came to this park because we heard that we could get beetles. I guess it was too late at7 in the morning. There were a lot of drone beetles. I was surprised to find such a park near the city center.
Yumi I — Google review
Some parts were closed off due to falling trees, but I nice little green oasis when you want a break. There’s a really cool old pond from an old samurai clan as well.
LL M — Google review
Love the nature. Different from normal parks in Japan, some grounds are not made of concrete but leaf mold. You can enjoy the soft touch and beautiful sound every step you take. 🍁
A. K — Google review
It’s my first time here the Rinshi no Mori park Great place to spend time with a toddler during summer. There is plenty of shade at the playground and at the splash pad. The kiddie pool was a little bit crowded but there was enough space for an 19 months old to have fun for hours.
Raj S — Google review
This park is wide. Vending machines are available. It's a great place for a jog, walking your dog, or playing with your kids.
Marie G — Google review
The blossoms are in full bloom here with several beautiful trees! The park is huge and has lots of different sports area (baseball, soccer, tennis, etc.) You can easily spend several hours here, enjoy!
Alexis B — Google review
Admission fee: free A lot of wide space. Not crowded, so it's gonna be a perfect place for you to relax yourself. Water fountain and toilet available!
Abkarin N — Google review
The nature is quite wild and jungle-like in this park compared to other parks in Tokyo which looks very artificial and man made. The park is very popular to the locals where they can take slow strolls, have gatherings, small camping areas and grilling areas, and jogging routes. The landscape is very dramatic and 3D with small hills and valleys, and bridges that overpass landscapes and ponds below. This park used to be a protected natural habitat zone that was used for research by 18 different institutions. I come here for slow walks and jogging, it’s simply feels great to come here to get in touch with nature and briefly forget the urban jungle.

Musashi-Koyama Shopping Street “Palm” is a well-known covered arcade located near Musashi-Koyama Station in Shinagawa. Unlike the open-air Togoshi Ginza Shopping Street, this 800-meter-long arcade is roofed, providing a pleasant shopping experience even on rainy days.
Longest Tokyo shopping street. Tons of shops and restaurants. The fresh fish market inside the shopping street is a must visit. Delicious fresh tuna and crabmeat.
Imran K — Google review
We liked the covered shopping on a rainy day, many stores, and food options. Spend 1-2 hrs shopping here.
Kimi L — Google review
Great local market with lots of food and shops. It is about 2km long and covered so you can visit when raining.
B L — Google review
Amazing local market with many interesting shops to explore and walkabout. Place was clean.
Ethan L — Google review
Visited Tokyo many time, but this is first time stop by this street. It's covered with roof so no need to worry about rain. Fun to shop before heading to Haneda airport.
FF ( — Google review
More of a local shopping area so the prices are more reasonable. This one shop for readymade takeaway sushi was amazing. The seafood is so fresh and prices are lower than in touristy areas like Shinjuku!!
J K — Google review
Very nice and well planned community in which has a complex indoor shopping market, very clean and wider walkway 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 nice to explore more local communities rather than visiting typical shopping areas when traveling Always remind myself traveling sustainably
Tak W — Google review
The shopping center that I like the most, because I think many of the shops that I often visit are here, such as KFC, Gyoumu Super, Kaldi, Muji, and many more. The location is very strategic because it is close to Musashikoyama Station. This shopping center is very long and the crowd level is normal. there are many small shops also selling cheap goods. highly recommended for shopping here.

Despite being reclaimed and transformed into Yatsuyama Street, it remains well-maintained and popular among visitors for its charming amenities.

Shiokaze Park is the largest park in the Tokyo maritime sub-city center area, divided into north and south sides by an underground expressway. It features a promenade along Tokyo Bay, a BBQ area popular for outdoor entertainment, a playground, and an open grassy center. Despite being located in central Tokyo, it offers a peaceful atmosphere with beautiful views. The park has recently reopened after being closed for the Olympic games and is still undergoing some reconstruction as of December 2021.
Wonderful views of Tokyo. At noght is even more beautiful. This park also has a small replica of the liberty statue.

A lovely place with great view of Odaiba. The bridge is very photgenic. You can also have a run here for a great excercise.
Dennis O — Google review
I just cane from this place (Aug 23, 2025). The whole waterfront is fenced off. Nothing interesting can be seen for now. I certainly hope it will be much more beautiful when the work is completed.
Manuel S — Google review
Nice park for beautiful view of Tokyo bay, good for tourist sight seeing. Fireworks at night is definitely a plus, must go.
Simon M — Google review
Beautiful place at night to relax, enjoy the view or simply rest.
Alessandro S — Google review
I visited Shiokaze park just before sunset and stayed until late night. Interestingly, I could see a lot of people during night. This park has a shopping mall and is located a few mins from the Daiba station. One can see long bridge and also view the skyscraper of the city. Unfortunately, the view was not so clear. I missed the boat ride otherwise I could have seen the city view much clearly.

This place is every family's paradise. A park that is surrounded by lake and trees. A bicycle path, ducks by the lake, and a bring your own ingredients on a barbecue pit! The park itself is so engaging for kids because of the mini loop zip line, bouncy pillow, mini wall climbing, and other fun stuff.

Perfect place to spend your weekends with families and friends. Have beautiful garden for relaxing day. Restaurant Dolphin is available with glass window to enjoy the food with different views.

The park is popular for picnics, offering ample space and scenic views of seasonal flowers. Families often visit the park for leisure activities, while joggers appreciate the designated tracks.
It’s a small park for refreshment, family picnic and spending cool time with friends, pets or bus yourself. You can do jogging as well as free hand exercise if you bring your tools. In this park, you can find a beautiful pond and small bridge over there where you can see ducks. You can enjoy the nature here. Nice place.

Fantastic place to relax and make a picnic. The landscape changes through the year and the wildlife is very different. I recommend it for families!
Bruno G — Google review
When the sakura are in season, this was a calming place to see some beautiful scenery without big crowds. Otherwise, visiting here for leisure isn’t too relaxing since there’s some odd folks who hangout on the benches and feed flocks of pigeons which makes it uncomfortable for others who stop by to eat.
Garrett — Google review
A beautiful, thriving park with plenty of shade, open areas for play, and serene spots to relax. The times that I do come here, lots of families are playing, people are jogging, and others are just taking in the nature. This is a very nice park to enjoy with the company of others~

Togoshi Ginza Shopping Street, located in Tokyo, offers a charming and retro shopping experience. The street is lined with stores selling everyday essentials, fresh produce, thrift shops, and casual cafes. It stands out for its unique collection of miscellaneous items known as zakka, including secondhand Le Creuset pots and pre-loved jewelry.
Quieter shopping street and not too touristy with some thrifting and food options.

Togoshi Ginza is a charming local shopping street that’s perfect if you’re looking to escape the busy crowds of central Tokyo. The atmosphere here is warm, relaxed, and very local—great for a slow stroll, casual bites, and soaking in everyday Japanese life. The street is lined with family-run stores, cozy cafes, and street food stalls selling everything from croquettes to yakitori. It’s clean, walkable, and surprisingly peaceful. It’s super accessible too—just a short walk from Togoshi Ginza Station or Togoshi Station. Whether you’re visiting solo, with family, or a partner, this place is definitely worth a few hours.

Sunetra S — Google review
Great location, right behind Tamachi station on JR and few minutes walk from the ward office building. Great for kids to play in water in summer. There are toilets and water near by…there are some play areas including swing, slide and sand pit for keeping kids busy for the day.
Jamil A — Google review
Great little spot but often very busy, two different size playgrounds and a big sand area. If your kid loves trains, you can see the Yamanote and Keihin Tohoku lines up close.
Vlad I — Google review
The underpass here, for the railway line above is not Disabled Friendly. Minato-ku should be ashamed. If you follow the instructions upon the ground - you will find that at the Tamachi side, you are blocked from passing, and have to return back somewhat, cross over to the incoming side and exit there.... it's simply non-sensical, and does not reflect well upon Minato-ku. I would hope someone with influence, reads this and prompts them to take action. It's so sad, that I have to write this here.

Futo Park is a wonderful child-friendly park located in the heart of Tokyo. It features a ship-themed playground with various play equipment suitable for babies and children. The water play area is available from July to early September, adding an extra element of fun during the summer months. In addition to the playground, there's a baseball diamond and clean toilets on site. Families can enjoy activities such as playing with RC cars or taking leisurely walks around the park.
Penguin park, my family love it, loads of sand, slides and in summer water fountains.
Dj S — Google review
There is no swing but a tunnel slide and a zig zag slide, 1 more slide for toddlers, 2 rocking chair like toys, 1 small see saw and a big ship like structure to play around in a sand. Also a Clean toilet is there. Overall it fulfills our need so good one. Have only two pics now
Sunetra S — Google review
Decent park to play in for kids between 3 and 6. Ww can on a Monday after Christmas and wasn't busy so we're able to use our RC cars around the park.
Boss — Google review
not very pretty but kids seem to love it and parents must appreciate it given the tiny spaces of residences in Tokyo.

Pool was closed and so was the pirate ship. Not sure why. There was a sign that said the pool would be open from 14 July to 6 September from 09:00 to 17:00, but it was all roped off at 10:00 on a Saturday. Pirate ship was also closed with caution tape. Do not recommend.

Gotanda Waterfront Plaza is a small, free waterfront plaza just a 3-minute walk from JR Gotanda Station. It offers a powerful night view of buildings and tower condominiums. During winter, the park is beautifully illuminated in pink from 5 pm to 10 pm, creating a picturesque setting for relaxation and socializing with friends. The area is conveniently located near Family Mart and various restaurants and stores. Additionally, it's an ideal spot for cherry blossom viewing during the spring season.
It looks amazing during winters with its beautiful pink illumination. It starts from 5pm and goes till 10 pm. This park has some seats to sit and chat with friends or near the river, you can sit and relax. There is a convini nearby, so you can buy some snacks too. Have fun!
Tuba A — Google review
Very convenient as it is close to Gotanda Station. There is Family Mart in very close proximity. A few steps and the main is road is teeming with restaurants, stores, and other establishments where you can practically get almost anything you need, if not all.

Calm and peaceful area and a nice walking spot while Sakura is blooming!
Naoko K — Google review
One of those nice little surprises that jump out at you unexpectedly. A small, peaceful park next to the river with some bench seating available. There is also a small cafe, bistro, wine bar that's open on a schedule I have yet to determine. But, when the weather is nice, it's a pleasant people watching spot.

Nestled just a short cab ride from Shinagawa Station, the Shinmei Children's Playground, affectionately known as Octopus Park, is a delightful gem for families. This charming neighborhood playground features not one but two whimsical octopus-shaped structures that are sure to spark joy in little ones. The smaller octopus invites adventurous climbers, while the larger version boasts five exciting slides that promise endless fun.
Fun for kids.
Ryszard M — Google review
(Translated by Google) It is commonly known as Octopus Park, located in front of Shimo-Shinmei Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line. There are two octopuses, one of which you can ride on tentacles (first photo), and the other of which is a slide that you can climb into. (2nd and 3rd photos) It's red and has a very realistic design, so I think children will have fun playing with it. It's a small park, but there are benches. Since Lawson is right in front of you, it might be a good idea to buy something there and take a break while watching the octopus. Shimo-Shinmei Station is next to Oimachi Station, but since the distance between the stations is short, you can also walk from Oimachi Station through the shopping street. Shinagawa Central Park and Shinagawa Ward Office are also nearby, so we recommend stopping by when you're taking a walk around the area.

The big octopus's feet are like slides, so you can slide down from various directions, so it looks fun, and I thought it would be nice to not have to wait too long for my turn. Togoshi Park, located in Tokyo, is a serene oasis inspired by Edo-period features such as waterfalls and valleys. Originally the garden ruins of the Hosokawa Clan, it now offers a tranquil pond, traditional gates, and lush greenery. Visitors can enjoy the variety of wildlife around the pond, including turtles and ducks. The park also features a community center for working or studying.
Beautiful park with turtles and big fish. Really calm in the morning and fun to walk around. If you are in the area don't skip.

Very cute park, turtles (or tortoises?) swimming in the pond. Lots of places for kids to play, it is a little smaller than I thought though. They also have a “learning centre” with a toilet for people to use.

JIMMY M — Google review

Generally clean park with a nice garden and pond hosting a variety of life forms such as turtles and ducks. A really nice community center is also available for folks who are working, studying or taking care of small children (though the Wi-Fi wasn’t great). Would say this park is great for relaxing and strolling through nature, but not recommended for picnics or playtime (though there are play structure facilities nearby).

Higashi-Shinagawa Kaijo Park is a spacious harborside park and boardwalk featuring spring cherry blossoms, water play areas, and a distinctive whale-shaped slide. It's a popular spot for families with children, offering various attractions such as a skate rink and beautiful gardens. The park is particularly busy on weekends and during the springtime when the flowers are in bloom.
Wonderful park for locals, I think today (April 5th) is full bloom or very close to it!

Nice place, wide area with many attractions mainly for families with children. Busy on weekends. A skate ring crowded with teenagers during the week afternoon. Here it must be nice during the spring time. Today, a sunny winter afternoon, trees with no leaves give a nice atmosphere too.

One of my favorite parks! You can find adorable Miffy, the whale slide and flower gardens 🐰🐳🌸 The flower beds and rooftop garden are always beautifully maintained. It’s a wonderful place both for a relaxing walk and as a play area for kids. In summer, kids can enjoy water play and even handheld fireworks, making it perfect for creating memories. It’s not too crowded, the atmosphere feels safe, and it’s very family-friendly. A truly charming park that I hope will stay just as it is for many years to come. 😊

Nemu no Ki no Niwa is a charming little garden located in a residential area. Although it may be small, the garden is well-maintained and clean, making it a great spot for a quick break, especially on hot summer days. While there may not have been any flowers during the visit, it's evident that volunteers work tirelessly to keep the garden looking beautiful regardless of the weather. This peaceful oasis offers visitors a quiet and serene environment to enjoy nature's beauty.

Cute little garden in a residential area. Being in the height of summer there were no flowers, and the lady who was tending to the garden even apologised for it (bless her). I’m sure in spring it must be very lovely; I’m also sure that the people tending to it are volunteers who keep working regardless of the weather. Well done to them, and thank you for your effort to look after something that is for the enjoyment of all.
