Public beach
Arambol Beach is a laid-back and clean public beach in North Goa, popular for its serene atmosphere and long stretch of sand. It's a favorite among tourists and free spirits alike, offering plenty of shacks with delicious food, drinks, and accommodation at reasonable prices. During the day, visitors can relax on the beach or swim in the sea, while evenings bring lively parties at the beachfront restaurants.
Arambol Beach is truly beautiful and peaceful. The soft, clean sand and clear water create a perfect setting to relax. It’s not too crowded, which makes it ideal for enjoying the calm atmosphere and scenic views. There are cozy beach shacks offering delicious food and refreshing drinks. The sunset here is absolutely stunning. It’s a great spot to unwind and spend quality time with friends or family. I really enjoyed my visit and would definitely love to come back again
Nitesh S — Google review
Beautiful beach with a chilled vibe Arambol Beach has a lovely atmosphere with music, shacks, and stunning sunsets. However, when I visited, the shore wasn’t very clean as the high tide had washed up natural debris like twigs and plants. Still, it’s a peaceful, bohemian-style beach worth visiting for its vibe and long walks.
AKASH R — Google review
Arambol Beach: A Slice of Paradise in Goa If you’re seeking a beach that blends natural beauty with soulful energy, Arambol is the place to be. The golden sands stretch endlessly, framed by swaying palm trees and dramatic cliffs that make for stunning sunsets. The water is clean and inviting, perfect for a refreshing swim or just wading in as the waves kiss your feet.
Bhupesh Y — Google review
Arambol Beach has such a calm and welcoming vibe. The beach is clean, the water feels great, and the sunsets are just beautiful. There are lots of small cafes and shops around, and the whole place has a very chill, positive energy. Perfect spot to relax and enjoy Goa’s natural beauty.
Girija J — Google review
Arambol is one of the most vibrant beaches in North Goa. The long stretch of golden sand, stunning sunsets, and the relaxed, bohemian vibe make it truly special. It’s perfect for long walks, swimming, or just sitting by the shacks with good food and live music. The nearby Sweet Water Lake adds a unique touch — calm and scenic, worth the short walk from the beach. What I loved: Beautiful scenery with cliffs, palms, and wide open sea views. Peaceful in the mornings and evenings, yet lively with music and activities later. Plenty of yoga, live jams, and an artistic crowd that gives the beach its unique charm. What could be better: Cleanliness is an issue, with litter visible in some areas. Basic facilities, limited parking, and occasional overcrowding in peak season. Overall, if you’re looking for a laid-back, soulful beach experience rather than luxury or spotless infrastructure, Arambol won’t disappoint. A must-visit for sunset lovers and those who enjoy Goa' free spirited side.

Amazingly Beautiful Beach… Best food at Dream of Goa. Must Try Mix Sauce Pasta, Falafel Pitta and Many other items. Hookah is also amazing.

My time at Surf Wala was absolutely unforgettable. I took part in a 5 day surf course during my time in Goa. Over the 5 days their amazing instructors helped me build the skills and confidence I needed to take off as a beginner surfer. I cannot praise and thank them enough for their support and kindness over the 5 days. They have wonderful staff and a truly international team! Not only do they host a fantastic surf school but they also have an incredible restaurant with a very splendid breakfast menu! If you’re in Goa I highly recommend checking out Surf Wala! Thank you guys again for all the fun and memories!

I had an amazing experience at Surf Wala. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpfull, always making sure we felt welcome. The surf lessons were professional and fun, perfect for both beginners and advanced surfers. The rooms were beautiful, spacious and very clean, making it a comfortable place to relax after a day in the waves.

Great place to be! Wonderful people and have a structured approach to the training! Very supportive and polite in their approach. They make sure that non swimmers are also safe. On asking they also deputed an extra person to ensure safety. The beach is shallow and a great place for beginners to learn.
Thomson J — Google review
I went surfing in Arambol, Goa a week ago with Surfwala, and it was the highlight of my entire trip. The experience was hosted by the wonderful Jonathan and Neha, who were warm, professional, and made everything feel smooth and welcoming from the start. As a first-time surfer, I felt completely at ease thanks to the incredible instructors - Finn, Olec, Tara, and Joe. They were patient, supportive, and made the sessions both fun and safe. Their passion for surfing was infectious and made learning such a joy. The beach at Arambol was the perfect setting; beautiful, uncrowded and ideal for beginners. The sessions were well-structured, and the cost was absolutely justified for the quality of instruction and the overall experience.I’d highly recommend getting your pictures taken - it's a one-time thing, and those memories are worth capturing! This experience alone is reason enough to visit Goa! Looking at my calendar for the next visit :)
Zeel R — Google review
I took surfing lessons from here. It's a great place to have surfing lessons especially if you are a beginner. Instructors are super friendly and encouraging as well as give personalized attention. The location is great and not at all crowded. With 3 days of classes now I can do the basic surfing by my own. Planning to rent surf boards and practice myself next time.
Sumith M — Google review
Surf Wala is not just a place where they teach surfing; it is a vibrant community of like-minded individuals who foster an amazing, friendly, and relaxing atmosphere. Coming from Kyrgyzstan, I have returned here for the second year in a row because I have never experienced such a soulful and rejuvenating vacation anywhere else. The restaurant serves incredibly delicious food, and the club’s activities and parties are nothing short of brilliant. Surf Wala truly offers a unique and unforgettable experience for anyone seeking a combination of adventure, relaxation, and genuine human connection.
Natalia M — Google review
Great experience, and all of the surf instructors were very nice and entertaining. I felt protected and would strongly recommend a surfing lesson! They really take their time, provide individual feedback, and ensure that everyone has a good experience.
Mahendra — Google review
I enrolled myself for the 5 day, beginners lessons at Surf Wala, and I had an amazing experience. As a complete newbie, I had zero expectations, but to my surprise, with the help of my fantastic coaches, I was actually able to stand up on the surf board on my third day. The instructors, Oleg and Amar, were extremely patient and matched my pace when it came to the lessons, but also pushed me to do better where it was required. Highly recommend Surf Wala to everyone interested in surfing

Arambol Mountain offers a serene escape from the bustling beach scene, providing stunning views of the sunset over Arambol Beach and the surrounding landscape. The ascent takes only a few minutes, leading to a tranquil setting where visitors can immerse themselves in nature. The mountain features lush greenery and narrow pathways for hiking, with a refreshing stream cascading down its slopes. Adventurous souls can indulge in a mud bath using multani mitti, known for its skin-nourishing properties.
Arambol Mountain in North Goa is a breathtaking escape that complements the lively beach below with peace and natural beauty. The climb is moderate and rewarding, taking you from sandy paths and coconut palms to rocky trails that open into sweeping views of the Arabian Sea. The mountain is best known for its spectacular sunsets. As the sun dips, the sky bursts into shades of orange and pink, mirrored beautifully on the water. It’s a favorite spot for photographers, couples, and travelers who simply want to pause and soak in Goa’s charm. Along the way, you’ll find small stalls selling handmade crafts, and sometimes yoga or meditation groups gathering in the mornings. The peaceful atmosphere, with the sound of the breeze and waves, makes it an ideal place for reflection. The nearby Sweet Water Lake adds another layer of charm to the experience. What sets Arambol Mountain apart is its raw, uncommercialized feel. There are no flashy setups here—just nature, community, and a chance to connect with yourself.

A nice viewpoint on Arambol beach and the nearby areas. The way to the mountain isn’t very noticeable but if you ask locals they will help you out. The path isn’t super comfortable so not the best destination to reach with flip flops. The views are really cool so it’s worth the visit

A very beautiful seaside where Arabian see and and this little lake, meet eachother. The way to get there is also amazing. While walking amongs stalls and shops, you can buy some souvenirs, eat some tasty food and pass by to get to this scenery. There are some fun activities you can do here like paragliding
Amin P — Google review
A nice mountain that can be climbed within 20 minutes even by beginners. There's a Ganesha's altar on the way. The view of the harbour is spectacular. It's best to wear snickers while climbing because grass is slippery and dry clay tends to break under your feet. It's worth buying some water before climbing) some places are pretty steep so it's best to avoid them and prefer the less slippery ones.
Екатерина М — Google review
What a place to visit. Definitely one of the more underrated sites in Goa which hardly is known to tourists. It's a long walk and a very short trek from Arambol beach but definitely worth the effort. Once you reach the top, it's mesmerizing! The view is just stunning. I visited this place in the mid afternoon so was a bit hot and a little uncomfortable but would definitely suggest others to visit it in the evening to watch the sunset especially in the months from Oct to Feb. You can clearly see the Arambol beach, the Arambol Rocks and some parts of the Sweet Water Lake from up top There are people paragliding nearby and it's just a great place to be. Definitely going to recommend this to others. Must visit in North Goa.
Dr. M — Google review
This place is hidden scenery. This is around 1km walk from the Arambol beach entrance. You can watch the sea , rocks and beach side view. You havebto park your vehicles at entrance for 50rs. You can sit and relax here. It's difficult for women and kids to climb This hill. You canbtake great pics here. Best time to visit is before sunset or at sunrise time.

Mandrem Beach is a serene and secluded destination in Goa, accessible by a small wooden bridge. Its pristine shores attract visitors from around the world, offering a peaceful atmosphere complemented by beautiful palm trees. While popular, it still exudes a special Goan beach vibe. The beach is known for its nesting Olive Ridley turtles and sightings of bellied fish eagles. In addition to typical beach activities, visitors can also partake in meditation and yoga sessions.
Quite beautiful with a serene touch. Can find your own private spot to meditate or just be by yourself. Great rock formations with ample seating arrangements. Pleasant environment with plenty of friendly restaurants around. Loved the breezy points and also the entire aura. Much recommended beach to visit if free.

One of the best beach ⛱️ in Goa, calm and steady. Mandrem Beach is famous for its spectacular color full sunset, White Sand and lines of Palm trees. Lazing the afternoon away and soaking up some Vitamin D are popular things to do at Mandrem Beach. Those who are looking to spend more than a day, can find places to stay near Mandrem Beach. The best time to visit Mandrem Beach is from October to March, as the water is safe for swimming.

Abhishek S — Google review
Setting and Ambience Scenic Location: The beach is bordered by the Arabian Sea on one side and a unique freshwater lake—Vagkolam or Sweet Water Lake—on the other. Surrounded by green hills and palm groves, the setting is undeniably picturesque and peaceful. Unspoiled Nature: While tourism has touched many parts of Goa, Kalacha largely maintains its natural, unspoiled charm with only a handful of shacks and huts off to one side of the shore. Seclusion: This beach remains less crowded compared to its neighbor, Arambol, making it ideal for those seeking solitude or a relaxed, bohemian vibe. What to Do Swimming and Sunbathing: The soft golden sands, gentle waves, and relatively clean beach make it an ideal spot for swimming and sunbathing. The freshwater lake is shallow, perfect even for non-swimmers to enjoy a dip. Wildlife Spotting: You might spot monkeys and exotic birds in the lush forested hills surrounding the lake, adding a touch of adventure to your visit. Shacks and Local Food: There are a few beach shacks offering delicious seafood and Goan specialties. Sunsets here, accompanied by simple food and live music, enhance the tranquil atmosphere. Activities: Adventurous visitors can try paragliding or hang gliding from the beach’s northern end, and spontaneous music sessions around a bonfire are common among backpackers.
Shaik S — Google review
One of best beaches in goa. Every one should visit it. But no cellular network.

Kalacha beach just next to the aarambol beach is truly mesmerizing with sea on side and sweet water lake on the other. Accessibility: if you are going by bike, then you can follow Google maps and park your vehicle at the last point of aarambol beach. If you are taking your car, park it in the main parking of aarambol beach, then walk on the beach till the end. Once you reach the rocks at the end of aarambol beach, there will be stairs taking you up towards shacks. Climb those and keep walking straight. The path is adorned with shops. At the end you will reach the beach and lake. How was the place: the place was very beautiful. There were shacks both on the lake side and beach side. The only con was that there were too many people. It was Fully occupied as we went on a Saturday afternoon. So please plan your travel in off hours to experience the calm and serenity. Please do not litter the place. Keep it clean
Pooja S — Google review
I am in L.O.V.E with this beach. It's so amazingly beautiful. The sweet lake view is even better than the seashore view. If you are visiting this beach take out one full day and go there as you won't feel like going back to your places. This is the best beach in the north so far that I have seen! Am visiting there again very soon!
R S — Google review
Very secluded beach. Perfect for those peaceful moments away from the more commercial beaches. The Beach is a little hard to come by and accessible only through a walk of around 10-15 mins from the northern side of Arambol beach. It's a small Beach mainly accessed by the foreign tourists. And that's the reason the beach is well maintained and kept clean. The water is much cleaner as compared to few other beaches. Lifeguard was present but the beach seemed pretty safe for swimming. A hidden gem in North Goa. Must visit for travel freaks and adventurers alike. 💯👌

Yoga retreat center
Nestled in the serene landscape of Madhlo Vaddo, the Himalayan Iyengar Yoga Centre Goa is a tranquil retreat that operates from November to March. Surrounded by lush palm and mango trees, this center is just a short stroll from the beach and about ten minutes from the local church. Established in 1985 alongside its Dharamkot counterpart, it offers a variety of yoga and meditation courses tailored to meet diverse needs and schedules.
I practiced two months at the HIYC and learned a very deep and subtle yoga approach, which helped me to develop a new awareness towards my body and my mind. Sharat’s teachings build on 40+ years of experience, which made me feel that there is a lot of knowledge in the classes. The therapeutical yoga methods is a great way to release old and deep tensions in your body. We were three weeks in the beautiful Himalayan Shanti Ashram - a very special place to practice yoga in all its facets! The HIYC has its own style, which is different to yoga studios in Europe. Once you accept their way of teaching, you are on a wonderful journey ✨
Malte — Google review
Completed the 9 day intensive with Sharat in Feb 2023, would highly recommend if you're looking for authentic yoga that goes far beyond the external shapes and value that is placed on yoga asana today. Luckily, I was recommended to attend Sharats teachings by a friend, very deep healing work if you choose to take this step The teaching is beyond anything I have experienced previously and gets you deep into the matter if you are open and willing to learn - I can see this method will not be suited to people who aren't ready, or prepared to let go of what they have previously been taught. Sharat is matter of fact with his method and speech, but I can see that he has the best of intention for those who are committed to themselves Thank you HIYC 😊

I used to recommend them to everyone for a few years. I even volunteered here for almost half a year. Lately I have come to be extremely disappointed by them. I feel they could do much better with communication. It feels arrogant. On a recent intensive, it was only on Day 1 that we found there are evening classes too. Considering these classes are expensive, I had to miss out on 3 sessions due to prior work. Which could've been easily moved with prior info. Whoever is handling Instagram is doing a shoddy job. Always feels like they're doing you a favour by even responding. Theyre in the business of making money, not charity. I will not comment on quality of teachings or the standard of the shala which quite frankly will pull these ratings down. I remember my best classes were with Leona. (RIP) Some with Maria too. Sharat goes in tangents - and can totally not follow a class plan. Still I respect his teachings.

This training was truly transformational for me. I started out quite resistant and reluctant to do certain asanas, the shoulder stand and the hanging pose, even crying when I attempted them initially. Fortunately, I had the most patient, supportive and caring instructors to guide and support me each step of the way. Maria, Vishal and Beata are all very different in their style of instruction, but each brought a new dimension to approaching and successfully completing each asana sequence. I now have an asana practice sequence I can follow, with the handouts provided, at home. I already feel more aligned and I am more aware of the correct postures for each asana, as well as the many benefits they bring. To top this all, Sharatji, with his vast experience, constant encouragement and focus on mindfulness, encouraged me to have faith in my own abilities. He pushed only when required, and gave me sufficient support to be able to do an asana I never thought I could do, Urdhva Dhanurasana! His knowledge and many years of experience were evident, and his passion for serving others with his therapy work were inspiring. I consider myself fortunate and privileged to have had the opportunity to learn from the HIYC team, and the master himself, Sharatji.

After spending many years of doing various yoga styles finally found the real deal! HIYC has great vibes, very knowledgeable teachers and helpful assistance throughout the practice. Wonderful continuous guidance given for postures to achieve proper alignment and build up awareness. They prepare you to do your own practise independently. I would recommend to anyone disregarding their age or previous yoga experience. Enjoy!

My and my partner came here to do the 5 day beginner course and ended up completing 3 weeks. The teachers have many years experience and this shows in their teaching which was fully holistic, focusing on proper alignment whilst combining philosophy throughout the practice. I have learned so much more about yoga on a deeper level which I will continue to incorporate in my future self-practice and I look forward to coming back to Iyenger to continue my learning at a later date.

I first came to the HIYC in Dharmkot in May 2014, and have been part of the Centre ever since. Experiencing on all physical, mental and energetic levels the true healing benefits of traditional, authentic YOGA practice - rooted in teachings and philosophy coming from source - truly changed my life! The 5 Day courses are uniquely and carefully structured to give students on all physical levels, with or without injuries and from varying backgrounds a totally holistic experience. If you want to learn authentic Yoga, understand what true balance and freedom means on all levels, this is the place to visit. “ Yoga isn’t something that you can explain in words, it’s something that you have to experience.”

Namaste, I originally studied at HIYC in Dharamkot in June 2017 for the beginners course with Beata/Shivani, Leona and Mihir, then for a second week of the continuing students with Leona again. I just arrived in Arambol this week and saw that Sharat was taking the continuing students class so I knew I had to go as I had never had the chance to experience his teachings and knowledge. I must say that I am so happy I did. Sharat's take on Iyengar Yoga is extremely rejuvenating, focussing on finding proper balance and ground using the feet, which effects the way we carry our entire body. The use of various props throughout class are catered to each individuals personal needs. This course is great for teaching you the proper techniques that you are able to take with you for your personal practice. Sharat has a unique sense of humour and tons of knowledge which he brings to each class. He was always making me giggle throughout class. I've decided to take the 5-day course again this week as Sharat will also be instructing and I really value his expertise, sense of humour and energy. This centre itself is tucked away off the main road. It is quite peaceful with shade provided by tall coconut trees. There is filtered water available and also bamboo huts that can be rented. Current students also have access to the yoga halls at set times for personal practice outside of class. All in all, I enjoy all the teachers that I have had the privilege to study with. They each bring their own unique way of presenting Sharat's style of Iyengar Yoga. I look forward to my next week of studied here in Goa and future visits to this centre, as well as the other in Dharamkot.

Arambol Beach, located in the small village of Arambol in Goa, is a hidden gem waiting to be explored. This beach offers golden sands, gentle waves, and visitor facilities such as eateries and snack stands. Known for its lively flea market, hippie culture, and exciting nightlife, Arambol Beach also provides opportunities for adventure sports like paragliding and kitesurfing.
I really enjoyed my time at Arambol Beach in North Goa. It’s a peaceful and beautiful place with silver sand and some rocks. The beach is very green and relaxing. On weekends, I visited a busy market. If you like adventure, you can try paragliding. I also visited Paliem Lake at the end of the beach, which was really pretty. The Banyan Tree nearby is famous because The Beatles once meditated there. I would love to go back someday.

Arambol Beach is a vibrant, bohemian-style beach in North Goa, India, known for its golden sands, calm waters, and lively atmosphere popular with international tourists. Visitors can enjoy various activities, including paragliding, dolphin watching, swimming, and visiting the local market. The beach is also famous for its relaxed vibe, with yoga sessions, drum circles at sunset, beach shacks, live music, and a sweet water lake nearby

Arambol, located in the northernmost stretch before Querim Beach, is North Goa’s bohemian heartland, celebrated for its unique, laid-back vibe and arts scene. The main beach boasts a vast, golden stretch of sand with gentle slopes and negligible currents, making it exceptionally safe for swimming. It’s framed by low cliffs and lush greenery, providing a truly picturesque coastal escape. The beach's main draw lies just north: a picturesque path leads over the cliff to Kalacha Beach and the Arambol Sweet Water Lake. This shallow freshwater lagoon, fed by natural hot springs, sits right beside the Arabian Sea, offering a tranquil place to swim or enjoy therapeutic mud baths. The adjacent jungle trail also leads to the famous Banyan Tree, a hub for meditation and spiritual gatherings. Arambol comes alive with a thriving, upbeat culture, featuring daily sunset drum circles, lively markets, and numerous yoga retreats. The best time to immerse yourself in this atmosphere is from November to March, when the weather is cool and pleasant for outdoor activities, live music, and exploring the makeshift artisan stalls. This destination caters perfectly to backpackers, artists, and wellness seekers looking for an authentic, alternative Goan experience away from commercialized crowds. It is an ideal spot to relax, explore nature, and partake in unique community gatherings, distinguishing it from other nearby beaches.

Arambol Beach is more than just a destination—it’s an experience. Whether you're dancing at sunset, meditating by the lake, or sipping chai with fellow travelers, it offers a soulful escape from the ordinary. be it morning, noon or evening - food on the beach is the best. just be sure you don't engage with the walking vendors - they will sell you 20Rs items for 200Rs.😆

Very chill vibe with mutiple shack around (delicious food with soothing waves sound). I recommend sitting there have some food and enjoy the vibe.
Ankit K — Google review
Tucked between lush hills and the golden sands of Arambol Beach, the Sweet Water Lake is one of Goa’s most magical hidden gems. Surrounded by swaying coconut trees and a peaceful forest vibe, it’s the perfect spot for a quiet swim or just to float and unwind. The water is calm, clean, and surprisingly warm — with a gentle mix of fresh spring water flowing in. The walk to the lake from the beach is a mini adventure through rocky paths and quirky local stalls, which adds to its offbeat charm. Unlike crowded beaches, the lake offers a more relaxed, almost spiritual atmosphere. You’ll often find travelers doing yoga, meditating, or simply soaking in the calm — it’s a true escape from the usual tourist buzz. Rating: 5/5 💧 Clean, warm freshwater 🌴 Surrounded by nature 🚶‍♀️ Scenic walk to reach 🧘‍♀️ Perfect for peace, yoga, and floating therapy 📸 Highly Instagrammable

Arambol beach is not as good as people say online. I visited Arambol Beach in July during the monsoon after seeing so many good reviews. But honestly, it was very disappointing. The beach is way up north, so it takes a long time to reach if you’re staying in Candolim area or Central Goa. The road to the beach is also in bad condition, full of potholes. For a state that depends so much on tourism, decent roads is a minimum requirement. They charge 100 rupees for car parking. I don’t mind paying, but the parking area should be proper. It was not well maintained at all. When I reached the beach, I was shocked. It was dirty. There were plastic bottles and trash. Tourists should act more responsibly, but it also seems like the local municipality doesn’t maintain it at all. Don’t trust the online reviews blindly. Not worth visiting this beach.

perfect spot to look for a sunset. If one is going to explore the caves avoid during the monsoons as they are closed due to high tides and heavy rain. One can sit and walk along the pathway.
