Lovely little beach right by the old town. The water is clearest in the morning in summer and a swim here is the perfect way to start your day if staying nearby. Park up and be a rock lobster if you want to catch some rays later on. Old mate selling fruit by the stairs is an honest vendor so make sure you give him a visit. The lady around the corner selling T/A aperol spritzes is a legend.

While there are construction sites and the main beach is closed, there is still a side beach with a stone-ish entrance. I tried all of the beaches near Monopoli and this one turnaround was the best. The least number of people (often I was alone and sometimes some local people). Note that it is around 2.3m deep, so you won't be able to touch the ground. The deepness change is there from the very beginning. It is definitely not recommended for kids and people that are not swimming. When the tide is high, I suggest avoiding it because it gets more dangerous. This review is relevant only while main beach is closed.

The beach is beautiful, the sea is clean. The beach is clean in the morning, very dirty in the afternoon. Italians are a very loud people, so you won't have peace. There is no shade until 3-4 in the afternoon. Buy an umbrella. Towels will be dirty after 15 minutes. There are no cabins on the beach to change clothes. No wc. There are no outside showers to take a shower. City ​​beach, full of people, but beautiful 🥰

We didn’t think it will be so warm so we didn’t have our bikinis for beach - the biggest failure ever! It looks amazing, dreamy sandy beach with walls above it. Magnificent!

Water is perfect, view is perfect, a bit rocky but if you come early you can find your spot. Pure breath of fresh air, loved it.

Beach located at city center doesn't have lengthy shore but quite lot of people throng this place because of it's close proximity. It's quite walking distance from Monopoli railway station Or bus stop near to it. Apart from beach you have ports nearby, there is also a museum. There is no facility for shower etc. Water color is turquoise with almost less or dead waves.

This place was recommended by our host. We got there minutes before the opening and secured a table. Soon the place got filled up with people and more customers lined up. We ordered pasta dishes and fried seafood mix. The latter was nothing special, and overpriced, but pasta was perfect, especially the seafood special macaroni. 10/10 would go back for more.

Incredibly delicious food, very friendly staff, large portions, and absolutely tasty! I definitely recommend it and I’m planning to go back myself. The desserts were also amazing tiramisu was unreal! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

We ate here 5 nights of our 6 nights in Monopoli (they were closed on the Sunday!). The food is fantastic - we loved every dish we had: mussels gratin; grilled red mullet; whole grilled sea bream; orecchiette rosse with vongole,fish and artichoke cream; risotto with clams, vongole, shrimps and porcini mushrooms; and not to forget the delicious sporcamuss hot out of the oven for dessert. The food was truly delicious, with well-executed dishes and carefully balanced flavors. The seafood risotto, which was the dish of the day, really stood out — creamy, perfectly cooked, and full of fresh, ocean flavor. 🦐🦑🍚 Portions were on the smaller side, so if you’re very hungry, you might find yourself wanting a bit more. That said, the final price felt fair for the quality of the ingredients and presentation. As a lovely surprise, they treated us to some traditional desserts on the house, and they were absolutely delicious — a perfect sweet ending to the meal! 🍰✨ A great spot if you’re looking for a refined, flavorful experience — just don’t expect large portions.

Great atmosphere, restuarant was busy but service was still very good. Requested to change my seafood pasta choice and they were very accomodating. Veal dish was slightly over cooked in some places. A delicious custard pastry was served at the end, warm and delightful which was a nice surprise.

Stopped by on a Tuesday afternoon for lunch based on highly rated reviews. Had to wait about 30 minutes before being seated at this popular relatively small restaurant. Overall, service was very good (as long as you have an Italian speaker in your group), but prices are too high because food varied between excellent and disappointing. Service varied between rude at the start when only our party's English and French speakers were seated to excellent when our Italian speaker arrived. Insalata caprese was very good and fresh. Gigliata mista was disappointing because the grilled tuna was dry, tasteless and overcooked. The grilled octopus was tasty but also overcooked and rubbery. The grilled prawns were also overcooked and dry. The hot and spicy shrimp dish was tasty but quite difficult to remove the shells. The cozze gratinate (grilled mussels) were served hot and were very good and tasty. Frittura mista was excellent served hot and was quite tasty. The Agnolotti ravioli with shrimp topped with crispy fried arugula was served hot with a tasty sauce and was excellent. The highlight of our lunch was the complimentary dessert dropped off at our table at the end, which was a very light, flaky and delicious pastry with a very tasty filling. Wow, was that a pleasant surprise!

Was full of garbage, the water was the only nice thing about the beach. The sand was mixed with plastic debris and a lot of cigarettes, it wouldn't be possible to evade the waste even if you tried.

Perhaps during the summer it is a different experience but we found the beach extremely littered, and water very murky and dirty. The date was September 25th. Beach may be free but you pay with a bad experience.

Porto Rosso in Monopoli is a stunning beach with an amazing atmosphere. Its expansive shoreline offers ample space for relaxation, while the clear, beautiful water invites swimming and diving. The abundance of fish makes snorkeling an unforgettable experience. Jumping off the rocks adds a thrill, making it the perfect spot for a vacation adventure.

The water is very cold, maybe it’s fed by a spring. It’s hard to stay in the water for those who aren’t used to it. The nearby Cala Paradiso is much better — the water is a normal temperature. You can use the beach for free and use the facility for food and drinks.

Close to the centre of Monopoli but nothing special to be honest. Just 100m away there is a better beach, Porto Bianco. There is a big parking if you drive right next to it.

Beware of the tourist rip-off with the “catch of the day”. We asked for 400g of mixed fish and seafood to share. They tried to charge us for 1.35kg of seafood. Compared to Campania and Sicily, it wasn’t even fresh - most likely frozen produce. Horrible to see this treatment of tourists in a place which needs to develop a sustainable tourist industry.

What a fantastic place!! After a few visits I’ve never come here where it’s less that 10 people and it’s for great reason. I absolutely recommend coming for a cone or a cup of pure magic

Gluten free options were amazing! Brioche and cones are gluten free. And the Gelato is THE BEST we have ever had. Period. And we have tried at lease 20 places in Italy on our travels! A MUST GO for your Italy vacation.

Delicious gelato! Went a few times and kept getting the Nutella and the salted caramel which wasn’t too sweet- just perfect!

The best gelato! Went here on the recommandation given by our host and had a nice surprise. The taste was delicious. They have a great variety of flavours. They also have coffe and other products based on ice cream. The prices are super good, 1 cone with 2 flavours starts from 2,5€ and with 3 flavours is 3€. The staff is friendly. Will go back on the next day for more gelatto.

Very small beach but you can be on the rocks. When we went there the water was a bit dirty for the first 10 meters but after that it was very clear and nice! Not too deep either

Small, crowded space. Nice surroundings. Water, according to my 8yrs old, "not so clean and cold, but there is fish..." Hard to find space to sit. Get flip-flops to walk on rocks and stuff, unless you get a spot on small, sandy beach.

A busy, but lovely local beach. We arrived around 10am and it was about 1/4 full with locals - a popular spot. It got busier as the day went on but still felt safe and not too cramped. It is not the same crystal clear & white sand as some of the bays further away from monopoli - but then often you pay a lot of money for them. The sand is more of a larger grain but still a lovely beach and the nearby restaurants means you can easily grab a drink when needed. A good spot for a free beach.

Sweet little spot just a couple miles north of town lots of free parking and a beach and easy access to swimming. There’s even shaded structures and four or five benches for picnicking good destination for a bicycle trip on a sunny day. This is a popular spot for recreational vehicles to park for free.

A beautiful beach with excellent facilities, including a wooden deck with a pergola, restrooms, and free showers. Convenient roadside parking is also available.

Nice to be on a sandy beach but it was quite rough and hard to swim here. I gather it’s probably nicer on a better day though. Not a lot around here to eat and difficult to get to without a car. We walked from Monopoli old town which took about 30 mins but was really hot. I think the beaches south of Monopoli are a lot nicer

Embarrassingly trashy and overcrowded beach. A clear example of the lack of civic sense of Italians.

Simply terrible. The water is so dirty from all the people. They charge the use of showers. There are screaming children everywhere. The average age on premises is around 12. The beach bar that rents out the umbrellas and sunbeds is misserable and completely outdated. If you do not have children and you want clean water I would suggest Porto Nero just 5 minutes from here. The sunbeds are a bit cheaper but the water is clear since there is no seaweed and sand. And much more calm. The food there is also mediocre, but the exterior is much much better.

Part free beach is very busy and light.ited space but water is beautiful and clear. Sandy entrance so good for babies and young children. Parking where can be found at top of road a good amount of free parking slots. The sand is soft and warm.

We were recommended to visit this beach as we only wanted to spend a few hours on a kid friendly beach. Typical of the Italian coast most beaches are privately owned and every service offered has an expense charge to achieve maximum annoyance. The attitude is not welcoming, in fact, it’s more confrontational, commensurate with the urban legend associated with southern culture - nobody can be trusted. I can only describe this venue as overcrowded and the hospitality area is an array of random tables and plastic chairs grudgingly supplied, in all probability, to satisfy some bizarre trading regulation. Notwithstanding the entrance money paid to spend time on the “beach” you will require further payment should you want to make use of the showers or rinse your feet! Cannot wait for the European Union to put an end to this abuse of what essentially should be a public space open to everyone. However, do not get me started on the more exotic beach clubs specializing in upselling hedonism. Avoid and you will save yourself much irritation.

It’s a shame that many Italian beaches have been converted into semi-private areas. Only a very small section is left for public access, while the majority is taken up by businesses renting sunbeds and umbrellas at around €40 per couple. This leaves you with little choice but to pay or squeeze into a tiny strip of sand. On top of that, getting into the water can be tricky due to the rocks along the shore.

Great beach, you can either rent a sunbed or lay down on the sand for free. The water was warm and crystal clear, some stones but not too many. Parking closeby if you drive.

Pretty beach, although does get very busy. Half the beach is free to sit in and half is with sunbeds and parasols for hire.

Ordered a mixed plate (ham and cheese) for 2 persons and 2 glasses of wine (as you can see on the photo, a majority of it is already on my plate haha). Delicious. Staff was kind and they speak English very well. Had to wait 5 minutes until a table for 2 got freed. Would recommend.

We had a great experience at this place when we needed a late lunch around 3 PM. It was open and bustling with people, just like always. The Venezuelan waiter's kindness stood out, he was incredibly friendly. We enjoyed delicious sandwiches, and super fresh tasty salads. I would definitely return and recommend going there in the evening as well, as the atmosphere is fantastic.

We were impressed that this restaurant could offer also a good range of gluten free food which was prepared at a separate cafe two doors up. This "sister" cafe only serves " Senza glutine" food absolutely no cross contamination! Bravo!!

We were group of 4 and stopped for a quick lunch. The place serves mainly paninis. We ordered salad, capeese, brusceta and panini. All was really good. Cocktails were also decent. Ideal place for a hideaway during hot weather to enjoy the quick linch

My wife and I visited for dinner, I ordered the catch of the day, from which I had a choice. It was EXCELLENT. Perfectly cooked with Mediterranean vegetables. A wonderful meal in a beautiful setting.

We had a really good experience. Went there for an Aperol and ended up having a damn good Caprese! They have a nice menu for shared plattern or shared food in general. Really nice for a aperetivo in the afternoon. The ambiente is quite nice under grapes and located on a small plaza.

Disaster of service for the price you pay . Food nothing special to buy piece of pizza with with only tomato with a price of whole pizza 🍕. Glass of beer €5 , expensive . Me and wife spent €120 total and I went home very hungry. To enter €56+€12 deckchairs. Taught the main pool always with music running but I went 3 times to tell them switch on some music . Don't go there because totally rip of on everything .

Super clean and a lot of fun. We absolutely loved it. Not many slides (6 big ones) but more than enough for one day out. Kids didn't want to leave.

I went here when I was on holiday and it was one of the hottest days, it was quite busy and there were lots for queues but the queues went really fast. The lifeguards are really good at doing there job but they could be a bit more happy when doing it. All around great waterpark should definitely come

Expected a typical waterpark but it was very clean and amazingly well maintained. We went with 2 small children, 1year old and 3 yr old. The kids area is fantastic but the park might be a bit boring for teenagers as there aren't many big slides but id definitely recommend it if you have younger kids. We went on a week day out of season so it was fairly quiet

Good fun, we enjoyed it. The children (9 and 6) enjoyed the kids pool and splash area, less so the slides (the straight blue ones were way too fast and splashy for them). The DJ build up to the wave machine was good fun, we had a good dance and clap, shame the wave machine itself was quite limited to two small areas of the pool, which got immediately crammed. I've seen better wave pools. Queuing for the doughnuts in the lazy river was dull and long-winded! Overall worthwhile, but fairly expensive! We spent €100 on entry and loungers and around €30 on average food. Next time we would just get the umbrella and bring our own food, which we didn't know we could do.

An unpleasant trip over there, the pools are nice, the slides not so many, but ok, but we had a bad experience with the purchase of the tickets, we couldn't get them online, only the umbrellas, which I could pay them online, but not the sunbeds, there are many areas you cand reserve but u didn't know, it wasn't shown on the site, that you have to know where you reserve the umbrella because it doesn't come with the sunbeds, you have to pay them also and I had to take 3 trips to the cash desk to solve this mystery! The conversation with the lady who sold us the tickets was very difficult, they know very poor English, and although I explained from the start that I had reservations for the umbrellas she didn't understand and so I had to get into the park and realized that I only got the umbrellas and the sunbeds not. I had to ho 3 times to her to explain that I want sunbeds too and that I will pay them also. Very bad experience! So, better pay at the entrance and don't complicate yourself to go online. The ticket price also very expansive, the food was OK.

Fabulous Water Park with something for everyone. Various age related pools, fountains, slides for big and small. Loved the lazy river where you can get inflated rings or just swim through without, as the gentle current takes you around. Nice food and drinks available. Good parking. Entrance fee is a bit expensive xtra for an umbrella with 2x beds but good if you spend the whole day.

To the incredible team at the wonderful Cafe Venezia, you guys are just the BEST! We had the pleasure of dining with you through the days surorunding our wedding celebrations, and you could not of been more accommodating to us and our guests. Your food is so delicious, your drinks are even better (shout out for all of the Amaretto Sour's). This was the perfect spot for our guests to meet for our day two, and we appreciated everything you done for us. A 10/10, we cannot wait to come back again to visit. Lots of love, Jade & Paddy x

Located in the center of town, we went for breakfast because our kids wanted pancakes. We ordered espresso and a cappuccino. Very delicious and friendly service

In the center of the old town of Monopoli, historic restaurant with a very pleasant terrace. Perfect for an aperitif and lunch/dinner. The wines and dishes are excellent and refined, the service is perfect and above all, in the evening, an excellent atmosphere, especially on Tuesday evenings because the restaurant organizes a small concert on the terrace. On this occasion, the entire central square of Monopoli comes alive around the restaurant terrace. I spent one of the best evenings of my vacation. And the old town of Monopoli is absolutely magnificent at night with the lighting.

TOURIST TRAP. Waited 15 mins for a table on a busy August evening. Sat down and told by the waiter that coffee wasn’t allowed outside. Manager came over and said a bottle of wine and two coffees were too “cheap” to drink outside and refused to serve us. Absolutely avoid this tourist trap. Many other places on the square worth eating and drinking. Do not bother! What an absolute waste of time.

Very central location, large terrace, fast service and good menu at lunchtime. I particularly recommend the salads, which are plentiful, fresh and tasty. I can now also recommend the breakfast menus. Sufficiently large with lots of fresh stuff and crispy salads on (it's a pity that many people only see this as decoration, don't get the point and leave it behind as foodwaste, perhaps it should be labelled "edible" for them)... anyway, I cleaned everything empty each time and was delighted with the friendly, lively chef at the entrance, who took great pleasure in ensuring that every guest's wishes were quickly fulfilled.

Very bad experience. The breakfast was overpriced. The dishes were dirty, even the plastic straws seemed to be dirty with little dots on the top part. A plus was the freshly pressed orange juice, but unfortunately we didn't know if the glasses were clean. We didn't hear a sorry but at least they reduced the price by 50 percent.

Very touristic restaurant that is not very cheap, but wins with its good location. Two of our groups were vegetarian and had at least some options. We had a very good appetizer and okayish vongole and a nice tiramisu. All in all good food with expensive prices.

It is a very nice beach club, great location and the water is perfect but once we arrived we noticed how unorganized the staff is, at the front especially. Drinks are pretty reasonable price but I wouldn’t advise you to have lunch here, food was super bland without any flavour. If you are super hungry just get fries at the bar.

Came on a day when the sea was very rough and filled with seaweed but still wanted some sun and water to cool off. I only paid €18 for a sunbed and umbrella (you can also purchase without a umbrella which is cheaper) as the pool was free on this day! I definitely recommend coming here as the atmosphere is very nice, the italian music in the background isn’t too loud, just perfect for it to be enjoyable!! The reastaurant is lovely too filled with loads of options and cute kittens running around the area:) The bar area near the poolside is also affordable with many drink and snack options. There is also many places to take nice photos and a 1 minute walk away from the beach:)) This place is very affordable compared to other beach clubs where you could pay €40-€80 for a full day whereas here it’s €18-€24 for a full day! 10/10

The overall quality of the place is decent and generally meets expectations. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful, which made our stay pleasant for the most part. However, the condition of the washrooms was disappointing, they were consistently unclean and in need of better maintenance. Additionally, on one occasion, a new staff member attempted to charge us an amount that didn’t correspond with the clearly posted pricing, and could not provide a logical explanation for the discrepancy. While this seemed to be an isolated incident, it did raise concerns about transparency and consistency in pricing.

Had a great meal here the seafood was really fresh. Get the spaghetti vongole. The staff are all very friendly and some can speak English too. It doesn’t sit on the ocean though the restaurant, only the bar was, so don’t expect seaside views when you’re here for lunch or dinner. The restaurant is out the back by the pool.

Food was okay! Pizza was good pasta wasn’t good as pizza, nice and clean ocean, sunbeds was normal they also charge you for towels each for 5€ and then u have to give the towels back to them!

The place looks nice, however the staff kicked us out of the front beach table - there is no sign to wait for guidance from the staff). We sat in the apointed table but staff have changed their mind and we had to move again to the exposed to the sun table... We didn't have a chance to taste anything but that's not how you treat guest. Treat this as a room for improvement. Good luck.

We went to another 3 beach clubs and this one is by far the worst one. While others give you towels and a shower to clean up after the ocean / sand, this one charges extra. The food is awful and pricier than other places. Drinks are mediocre as well. Beach isn’t better than others. Staffing also isn’t as prepared and equipped as other places. Overall would rank at the bottom tier.

It was mostly good. You can't book for the same day.. only for the next day. We booked on the terrace to avoid the sand... the terrace turned out to be sand... otherwise, the food and drinks are reasonably priced.

Scenic small area, so sunbeds are close to each other. We paid €40 for two beds and a parasol near the back of the sandy area. If you want to be in front of the sea, you can reserve in advance online for a few euro more. But not worth it for us, as we don't spend long enough there. Water is warm as it's the Adriatic but gets deep and rocky quickly, so I didn't spend a long time there! Bar area and toilets about 5 mins around the corner, where I relaxed with a cola and my book.

Be like a local and get you beach club groove on. Lovely team, great beach. Lots of fun. Great selection of drinks and food. Great place to people watch. Especially if you are a foreigner in the locals hood. Eye opening experience. Have a go and you will come away with fantastic memories and great stories to tell everyone back home.

We booked the day before online €40 for two sun beds, 50 for 3. We get there they say the beach level sun beds are all taken so we had to sit out on the terrace that is four flights up from the beach. It was a bummer but still we paid same price as the beach level beds which makes no sense. The beach was crowded like crazy on a Thursday and when we asked a couple hours to move down to the beach we were told no. Would not return here. The beach bar was chaos as people can not form a simple line to order everyone is clustered around and people try to cut you if you are not forceful. We ordered pizza and pucce and both were bland

Great beach with great service! I was there on Saturday, there were many people, not a lot, but much more comfortable than on other beaches. The staff is very kind and polite. They provide an umbrella and a sunbed for 25€. The water is clean and warm. The shore starts with sand and then it becomes rocky. Definitely recommend going there to spend lovely day at the beach!

Too expensive. Buy an umbrella and go to the public beach area (we did after this) . €40 euros just for a bed basically in a car park. Fully appreciate this is an issue with all Italian beaches. But you pay that much and still extra to wash your feet on the way out. For €40 I hoped for a foot spa included on departure 😮 (parking is €5 extra.

A Hidden Gem in the Heart of the Old City Tucked away in the center of the old city, this charming spot offered a unique blend of atmosphere and character. From the floor where we were seated, we could look down into the basement area, where an impressive display of drinks caught our eye. Among the highlights was an old wooden globe bar, elegantly stocked with a variety of fine wine bottles—a real centerpiece. The bartender was not only skilled but also exceptionally friendly, making the experience even more enjoyable. Background music played softly, carefully curated to complement the setting without overpowering conversation. The cocktails were well-made and flavorful, adding a nice touch to the evening. What made the visit even better was the opportunity to play a few games, which added a fun and relaxed vibe to the night. And perhaps the best part? The prices were surprisingly affordable for such a stylish and well-located venue.

Very nice place. Cozy, large and nicely shaded terrace. Servers are very quick and friendly. Drinks are quite cheap and very well done (both cocktails and coffees). We came for drinks and again for breakfast, both very nice experiences. As a bonus the interiors are a mixture of a library and a bar.

Dear bartender, We didn't catch your name today but kudos to you for loving what you do and bringing a nice positive vibe to the bar. Great coffee, apple cinnamon cake, draft beer and spritz 😊 we enjoyed everything along with some board games that the bar offered for the guests. Lovely idea and everything was cheap as well. Would definitely recommend.

The star is the Puccelle sandwich which is basically a bacon egg and cheese without the cheese. Instead they use butter and the freshest bread and it’s honestly just so good. The juice is fresh, cappuccino’s come quickly and the pancakes are yummy too. The service is very friendly and fairly fast for Europe. 10/10. King street food and this caffe come up as two different restaurants on google but they are one in the same.

The beach is kept really clean, the sea is shallow for ages (great for the kids), the waves are not high and only on this stretch there are not many rocks on the seabed. The beds were €20,- per two, an extra €10,- for a parasol. Well occupied by locals, there were quite a few returning guests which seem to get some privileges over one-time guest. This was the only annoyance (if you could call it that). The restaurant is very fairly priced, staff is helpful. You could get a quick meal or sit down for a great apulian lunch, family style. We did not go to many other Lido’s (there were not many open this early in season) but we felt like this was the best one, especially because of the local guests. Certainly recommended.
