Nature & Parks
Parks
Sandwell Valley Country Park, located just north of the city, offers 660 acres of diverse outdoor activities including woods, farmland, lakes and streams with hiking and biking trails. The park is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts with a hide operated by the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds where visitors can observe numerous bird species. Families can also enjoy interacting with friendly animals at the on-site farm.
There's a lot too do at this park, still haven't got all around it myself yet, but if you're looking for a place to stay all day with the kids then this is a good place to go. There's a children's park, a small and quirky fair ground, lovely and reasonable priced cafe, an adventure area, beautiful park with lakes and friendly swans. I enjoyed the rabbit village also the rabbits are so well looked after. There's also plenty of history to explore.

I can't believe I've never been here before and it's only a few miles from home. There are some lovely walks, lakes with swans and ducks on and the motorway! The further you get into the woods the less you hear the motorway noise. Well worth a visit to enjoy nature and recharge your batteries. There are toilets in the courtyard by the tearoom and others near the cycle hire place. The tearoom is lovely and the staff are too. They're very friendly and accommodating.

Been to this place twice now and its always a pleasure, plenty of things to see and do. There are a wide range of activities to do from mountain biking, walking trails, visit the farm and use the outdoor gym facilities. There is ample parking and its only 40p for 1 hour or 80p for 2. There are toilets scattered around so people visiting for hours should be fine if they need to use them. I say its the best park in birmingham by far and a great day out for the family!!
ErenY786 — Google review
We had a lovely first visit with our daughter, it’s such a big park, so much to do and places to see. We had a walk around the rabbit village which was so much fun. The little houses were great and the park is superbly maintained and clean. We recommend visiting the tea rooms; friendly staff, great coffee and delicious cakes.
Adam B — Google review
Lovely park linked with forge farm. Shame there are some idiots that do not appreciate wild life and nature esp. large family setting a fire near the pond and trees cooking food in 2 large pots.
Barbara B — Google review
Lovely place for day out. Long walking tracks, lakes and pools. Parking is very reasonable
Habib R — Google review
Always a wonderful day out here. Some lovely walks around the pools and woods. Food from the courtyard cafe is always good and there is a great selection of cake too 😋 Parking is super cheap and very convenient. Great for kids of all ages, as well as adults who enjoy bird spotting or just out for a stoll.
Deborah Q — Google review
You have to pay to park in the park but honestly its like 50p an hour and its a gorgeous well kept space, and once you've walked around your feet will thank you that the cars closer. Amazing family day out, cheap and cheerful with a permanent funfair for little ones and sky trail adventure/ rock climbing type thing for big kids. Awesome spot!

The nature is just wow. If you planning to visit this place please bring some nuts for those beautiful squirrels, and food for those beautiful birds if you can, they're friendly. Love nature, Save World 🌍💗

Beautiful great for a local walk. Has a nice park area for kids, ducks and a small lake
That M — Google review
I'm so glad we have this park just in our back alley. It's very well maintained, from the grass, to the flowers and pathways. Everything is well kept. The lake gives such a relief by just looking at it, with all the ducks, swans, geese, and birds flying around singing in their cute bird voices. Especially when the weather gets nice, it's a very relaxing place for whenever I need a quick getaway from my own busy life. Definitely recommended to come visit, either to come for a stress-free day out, bringing kids for the big play area, for family picnics, or just for couples to go on romantic walks. 💯

Never a bad place to come, would recommend it on a weekday without anyone here in the sun

Stunning park, grass is beautifully cut, and the scenery is amazing. There is plenty of play equipment for children both young and older. There is plenty of seating for everyone. There are public toilets, including disabled toilets and baby changing, snack shops, and outdoor seating. Not forgetting the amazing lake full of gorgeous ducks and swans.

A lovely place to walk round for all ages and abilities. Plenty of parking, the earlier the better though and good value. Sadly the miniature golf was closed, on a Saturday? Would be nice to have some more shaded benches. Also the lower playground was a bit dilapidated, swings and activities missing.

Haden Hill Park, located near Halesowen in the West Midlands, spans 55 acres and features the historic Haden Hill House. The park offers two play areas - an enclosed space for younger children and a larger adventure playground with various climbing structures. Additionally, visitors can explore a toddler playground, outdoor play area, duck pond, open spaces for activities like football and picnics, as well as Congreve's nature reserve with a stream.
A wonderful park to walk around, or just sit on one of the many benches and take in the view.

Great park local park ! Really clean and looked after ! Wonderful views and even extends to a nature trail ! Nice mix of wildlife , including a turtle if you can find it ! Very hilly , but still accessible for enough area to have a good time !

Besutiful always but especially lovely in the winter sunshine. Beautiful scenery and great walks. Lovely early signs of spring today in a later visit than the winter views. There was an interesting outdoor art exhibition too. New since my previous visit: on going work on one of the bowling greens. It looks as though it's going to become a formal garden.

Lovely peaceful park. Great for dog walkers.
Katherine H — Google review
Fantastic space for walking and lovely play bits for children. Just shame about dog mess left lying around though on some grass areas. Need to watch with children about.
Helen Y — Google review
Lovely little park but very steep in places so not ideal for very old people not good on their feet but for everyone else it’s fine . The park has two ponds a big one at the bottom of the park and a small one at the top of the park . On a nice clear day you can also sit on the benches near top of the park with nice views of Clent hills . Park also has kids apparatus to play on which is better than average. All in all a nice little park for a stroll for an hour or just over .
Scott D — Google review
Great park for children, adults and dogs. So much to see and do here, in all weathers. The park is great for kids and there’s so much green space you could walk around and not see a lot of people. The ponds and trails are lovely.

Flip Out Trampoline Arena is a fantastic place for kids' parties, with plenty of activities to keep them entertained. The staff, like Louis, go above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly and the kids have a great time. There are various areas for different activities and even food available on-site. While there are height restrictions, it's still considered better than other similar venues.
Decent trampoline and play area, well themed and decent sized. Daughter had a great time playing various activities here
Ace R — Google review
Was our first time here, and I'll be honest we only came because our first choice trampoline park we wanted to visit was booked out for a party. The only reason I agreed, was because it was my lads 12th Birthday. Because looking at the reviews, and 30 minute drive I wasnt going to risk it. Anyhow, the lady on reception was lovely in all fairness. We took our own trampoline socks however, and was effectively told we cant use those? Like why, they are exactly the same as the ones given other than design and colour? We were then advised to wait until 3:00pm for our slot. There was no where to sit, so had to literally sit on the floor? Moving on to the "experience", £29 1 hour, 2 children. 100% not worth it, when you actually see the of the trampoline area..no chance. Then to add insult to injury, you have to pay extra, for bumper cars and zip line. Yes, I did see this on the website, however thats after we'd travelled there. That's a complete con, considering the size of the trampoline area. Add all the age restrictions and "safety" on, honestly, might as well have just told them to use the trampoline in the back garden. Or, jump on a sofa on someone's front garden. What is even more perplexing is, how are you charging an extra £5 per child to book on the door? Insane business model, also the only being able to book for on the hour. So strange. We've been to others, and neither of these things exist. And the OTT safety, compared to other establishments. There was literally not ONE child booked for 4:00pm probably because of those above reasons. Then, even if you did want to go on them, it needs booking beforehand. So, if your child wanted to go on them they cant after the matter. Someone else mentioned which is a valid point, these bumper cars, zipline ext are all within the area where you get a mere one hour to use the trampolines. So, even less time, for the privilege of having to pay to use the "additionals". Which, are also, only available on announcement, when a member of staff has stopped talking. Now, on to the hygiene of the place, im glad everyone will be happy to hear....yes, it was still exactly the same as the previous pictured reviews. Only, you got an added bonus NO womens toilets as they were out of order. So, it meant one disabled toilet, for all the women and baby change. Stunk to high heaven. All wet at the back of the toilet, is that wee, is that water...your guess is as good as mine. The car park is just littered and unkept, vapes, socks, rubber gloves, food wrappers. It felt like I had rocked up to a youth club, just really young staff having a laugh and not doing much else. Only one I can say that was grafting was the lad behind the counter, considering he was left to serve, empty the bins, clean and clear the tables and he was even hoovering. The others, none existent, ran by kids just nattering. Its no wonder those toliets arent cleaned and the bins emptied. Because my guess is, they are like "Ew I aint doing that". Young age(s) for cheap labour, the lad behind the counter should leave and get a job with rewards and acknowledgement. The rest, well, minus the lady on reception if it was my business would be back in the dole queue. I mean, if you hadn't of guessed, no I wont be returning. Tragic for the lads 12th Birthday, but we made up for it with bowling afterwards. Only really decent thing was the bus inside, and if it worked id have drove myself out of there on it, and took everyone else as passengers. The two stars, are literally for the 2 staff members, and that the prices (all though only got a coffee) didnt seem to bad. Ow, and the bus. Ow, and you might want to remove the hygiene sticker of the exit door, rather than just rip the date of the corner 😆.
Paul H — Google review
I took my little one along and I was told I would have to pay to go on and for the socks too. I was happy to do so and go on but £33 later?! My child is under 1 which makes this extortionate in my eyes for 1 hour of play???? There was food and drinks and dirty tissues in the soft play area and no staff to be seen. I emailed all my concerns and they said they have contacted the staff on shift regarding the cleanliness.. Luckily my child has no allergies but was stopped prior to touching any of it!
Danielle P — Google review
The trampoline playarea is great fun but the canteen area is really dirty.. ie tables and floors and behind counter area. The toilets am dirty and smell really bad. the nappy bin in the baby change/ disabled toilet was overflowing with smelly shitty nappys.. It Should have someone going in to check toilets every so often to keep on top of hygiene. Its disgusting, iv been here 2 hours with my kids and the bin bag in the nappy bin still hasn't been changed. Not hygienic at all..... The canteen and toilets need a DEEP CLEAN ASAP!!!!! wont be coming here again. Wouldn't even give it 1 star but wont let me write a review otherwise.
Rachel W — Google review
Completely understaffed. Whilst waiting to purchase a drink from the café area we waited around five minutes before going to find a member of staff, after looking all around the trampoline park no one could be found. We then found a staff member waiting around the corner on their phone. Drinks and food were overpriced and the trampolines were not bouncy at all.
Imogen Z — Google review
I really thought this visit was going to be awesome, we've never been before & the website make it sound brilliant. I presumed they'd be jumping for an hour as that is what I paid for & the extras (zip line & bumper cars) would be outside that hour! Its not. Frustrating really as your not getting what you paid for, some of that time was also taken up by queuing for wipe-out! Disappointed overall.
Danielle C — Google review
I have never saw a place so filthy and disgusting. Took my son for a family members birthday (first time going). The toilets were shameful, vapes on the floor, toilet & sink looked as though they havent been cleaned in months. 1 lad staff member was dragging a bin around, wiping tables off with his hands onto the floor then standing behind the counter on his phone with his hand down his trainers, then serving customers with food & drinks. NOT ONCE DID HE WASH HIS HANDS!!! The whole place was filthy. I will never take my child back there!!
Abby B — Google review
Avoid Flip Out Oldbury at all costs! My visit was a complete disaster from start to finish. The staff acted as if they were doing me a favor by simply acknowledging my presence their attitude was appallingly rude and dismissive. On top of that, the prices are outrageously high for what is essentially a glorified trampoline park. Understaffed most of the activities are closed. They don’t have change to give you when u pay. You're better off burning your money than spending it here. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy."

Nestled in a serene setting, Brockswood Animal Sanctuary is a delightful haven for animal lovers and families alike. This charming sanctuary is home to an array of animals including sheep, goats, ponies, pigs, birds of prey, turtles, emus, raccoons, and rabbits. The variety of residents can change as the sanctuary takes in new animals that may need care and rehabilitation.
Lovely morning wandering around to see the birds, rabbits, pigs, ponies and sheep. I walk with a stick but found most of it very easy to get around and just went at snails pace for the odd couple of steps and slopes. Bought a few bags of animal feed for the goats and sheep (£1 per bag) and the kids loved being able to be so close to them. There are basic toilets and a proper disabled one too which was really handy. The lady in the shop was so friendly and the cakes were nice too :) Stayed for a warm up with some coffees. The kids sat and coloured in while they drank their hot chocolates. It wasn't overly busy and it was very dog friendly. The dog run seemed to be popular.
Sian T — Google review
I went with my 3 children (ages 9, 7 and 1) for something to do in the half term, and can honestly say for the price it was well worth it. A few of the animals that are on their website we didn't see/couldnt find which was the only downfall but everything else we couldnt fault. There was a good selection of animals to see and some we were able to feed, which the children really enjoyed. The only thing I would say that we didn't approve of, was around most of the fences where children would stand there were LOTS of stinging nettles which my child did sting themselves on, I think if they were tamed for me it would be a 10/10 experience. But it didn't dampen our visit, we still had a great time and will definitely be back!
Stacey T — Google review
Went here for an afternoon with my puppy as it seems one of the only places in the area that is dog friendly with farm animals. The staff here were lovely. My puppy had an absolutely great time as there are so many animals to see. Entry cost £4.50 for single adult which is beyond reasonable in my opinion.
Gabriele N — Google review
Great value for money, lovely local afternoon out, new enclosures looking good. Animals seem well cared for (obviously have rescue animals with some issues but seem to be getting the care they need) play area for kids is good, if a touch small for the number of kids. Main downside is there were loads of rats. We saw, 2 in the peacocks, 1 on the birds multiple in the owls and buzzards and then the end enclosure which has the pheasant in, I counted at least 6 rats around the food bowl with more running around. Took a photo with 4 visible (and another one there but hidden by the one fat one) quite disappointing and left us more worried about the diseases and safety of the children. There were also nettles by most areas where kids are able to feed animals (but this could easily be solved with a trimmer one afternoon)
John B — Google review
Really unexpected. Plenty of anymals to see, a really nice area for the children to play and a large area for parents to enjoy a good day out.
Fabian Q — Google review
With under 4’s being free this is a brilliant low cost day out. Cafe, animals, picnic area and play parks for little ones and older ones. Brilliant
Emily D — Google review
Absolutely wonderful place! Had never been before but my daughter loved it. The animals were well looked after and we loved hearing their stories.
Blue G — Google review
It's been around 20+ years since I went to this farm. It was called Cotwell End but has now had a revamp. Staff were nice and friendly, free parking, and there are your normal farm animals, pig, chicken, sheep, goats, horses. I took my 7 month old daughter who enjoyed looking at the animals. However, we managed to walk around the venue in 20 mins. This would be ideal for those who are older maybe toddler age and upwards because you can feed the animals and go on the park. Price was reasonable £4.50 - £4.75 for adults. It's a lovely little farm who desperately need public donations as they do not get any funding. Would defo again and take my own picnic x

Another nice park locally to myself.. Situated in Halesowen on the southern edge of the West Midlands urban conurbation. It is a 57-hectare public park, Site of Special Scientific Interest, containing the remains of one of the most important and influential landscapes of the 18th century. The garden at The Leasowes was designed by the poet William Shenstone beginning in 1743 and continuing until his death in 1763. Shenstone created his garden from farmland; forming a diverse landscape of wooded valleys, open grassland, lakes and streams. Today, The Leasowes is of major historic significance ranking in importance with landscapes such as Blenheim and Stowe, and being listed as Grade 1 on the English Heritage 'Register of Parks and Gardens of Special Historic Interest in England'.

Haden Hill House is a Victorian mansion built in 1878, featuring period furnishings and a charming tea room. The venue hosts various events and activities, including educational sessions for children to experience life in Victorian times through hands-on activities and interactions with costumed characters. Set within 55 acres of picturesque parkland, the museum offers a glimpse into the lifestyle of a late Victorian gentleman through its well-preserved period-style furnishings. Additionally, it provides an ideal setting for small and intimate wedding ceremonies.
What a fantastic museum. Really interesting and some great displays. Today was a special 40's event and it was brilliant. Some really nice volunteers and great entertainment. Plus the park it is located in is lovely, with some good views.

The welcoming environment, regular religious ceremonies, and cultural events that make it a hub for devotion and community gatherings. It’s a place that offers both spiritual solace and cultural insight, making it a meaningful destination for worshippers and those interested in Hindu traditions alike.

Beautiful temple in the outskirts of Birmingham. Venkateshwara Balaji, Shiva, Parvathi, Lakshmi, Sai baba, Hanuman and few more beautiful idols and their presence in this holy place. I got my car pooja done by the priest. They have Archana and many other Aarthi options for the god.. everything can be availed from the reception counter. Don’t forget to visit the dining room for prasadam. They also sell Tirupathi laddus at the reception. Free parking on site, ample parking spaces available. Check opening hours before visiting.

Located in West Bromwich, Oak House Museum offers a captivating journey back in time to the 17th century. The well-preserved half-timbered yeoman farmer's house showcases exquisite panelling and authentic 17th-century furniture. Visitors can explore various rooms such as the parlour, kitchen, and bedrooms through guided tours, gaining insight into life during the Stuart period.
Amazing history to see in this house. I enjoyed the tour guide who narrated the entire history of this place beautifully. Visited during the Christmas season , it was a great experience to be in the 400 year house of Turton.

Nice friendly volunteers show you round this Tudor farmhouse with no pretentions It's good to see a serious take on history in its context, and its relations to today. The setting is beautiful with room for wildflowers and an outdoor children's play area.

What a lovely visit we've had this morning at the Oak House Museum and it was Free to visit. I wasn't expecting that much but was very surprised with the Visitors Centre which houses the cafe and a small shop. The house itself is made up of about 10 or so rooms over 2 floors as the house would have been circa 1700. There is plenty of information on displays around the house and friendly members of staff who are very informative and knowledgeable about the house. There is a lovely play area for the children at the back of the house and the garden are very well maintained. Unfortunately there is no parking so will have to park in the street which wasn't a problem as there is a boxed parking area big enough for around 6 cars next to the Oak House on Oak Road. Local museums like this need our support so we can remember our history of the area. The grounds are lovely to go and grab a drink from the cafe and sit and relax for a while. You would have to check Sandwell Museums Website for opening times but as of today I think they are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 11am to 4pm.

The house is set up as it would have been in the 1600s. Staff were extremely helpful and well informed. Very welcoming. Free admission is a big bonus too. Some real artefacts from the 1600s are on display and some items are reproduction. But they work together nicely to give a good impression of the house. The museum loses a star for opening hours which are not extensive. Check before you travel would be my advice

Guru Nanak Gurdwara Smethwick is an imposing and ornate Sikh temple, the first and largest of its kind in Europe. It has a peaceful atmosphere and friendly, welcoming people who are happy to provide information. The area is well-managed and clean, with delicious food available throughout the day. Although parking can be difficult due to limited space, it's worth visiting this spiritual home regularly for mental and spiritual well-being.
One of the mainly gurdwara’s in Birmingham; set in Smethwick close to an Asian community of residences and shops, it has many darbar halls within it over multiple floors. The permanent exhibition inside the langar hall is also well worth a visit which shows the timeline of the religion.

Foundation and History - Established in the 1960s, Guru Nanak Gurdwara Smethwick was built to cater to the growing Sikh community in the UK. It also includes a Langar hall, where free meals are served to all visitors, a practice rooted in the Sikh tradition of community service and equality. 3. Community Services - Beyond religious activities, the Gurdwara is actively involved in community services. It provides educational programs, cultural events, and support services, such as food drives and health initiatives, reflecting the Sikh principles of Seva (selfless service) and Sarbat da Bhala (welfare of all). 4. Events and Celebrations - The Gurdwara hosts various religious and cultural events, including major Sikh festivals like Vaisakhi and Gurpurabs, which celebrate the anniversaries of Sikh Gurus. These events are marked by processions, prayers, and communal meals, attracting devotees from across the region. 5. There is a kind of very strong harmony between the people who run this place and everyone who pay the visit could feel at peace within themselves. Hats off to everyone who's selflessly running this Gurudwara and contributing to the build a better community by teaching the importance of belongliness, world peace, community and sustainable living, modest and humble living. This place is an experience and not few lines to read/write about. Please do visit and do donate. VAHIGURU JI KA KHALSA VAHIGURU JI KI FATEH

Really enjoyed coming here until about an hour ago when the centre manager Ian shouted at me for walking in behind one of his colleagues who opened the door for me. Trying to embarrass and belittle me in a gym full of people.Didn't have an issue with any body else though. Rainbow Street, a children's amusement center situated in an old pub, retains some of its original features including a bar and stained glass windows. Although the exterior could use some improvements with a rough car park and visible items that need to be disposed of, visitors are warmly greeted by staff who provide guided tours during their first visit. The play areas are impeccably clean and filled with an assortment of toys representing various themes such as supermarkets, building sites, and cafes.
Having come here every week for a long time I can safely say this place is excellent value for money. The facilities are clean and lights work perfectly fine. Our children and my friends love the variety of toys and dressing up things. They especially liked the 'Tidy Up' songs at the end which encourage parents and children to help tidy as most role play centres and schools do, having visited many other places too. The food is delicious. And the milkshakes are soooo tasty. I totally agree with other reviews that the staff make this place what it is. They're so friendly, professional and make the experience thoroughly enjoyable.

What a lovely place with free parking at the rear! Went here today with my 22month old and his 2yr old friend and they had a blast. This was our first time and we enjoyed it. Lots of things to play with and everything is very clean. There is a cafe attached for drinks and snacks. .
Kim M — Google review
For the cost of it, this one is not very good value for money. The place is very small and the disabled toilet light is problematic. The staff are great, the snacks are OK and so is the coffee. There is another bigger one on the way to Wolverhampton which could possibly be good value for money. Given how small this place is, might be better for a small birthday party or something for smaller groups. The toys are good for what it is. Unlike other play areas, parents and kids are expected to put things back! Personally I have never had yo do this elsewhere and so unlikely I will go here again. 3 stars because of the staff and the toys in the area only.
Akshay J — Google review
Great place for toddlers, kids and adults! I went with two friends and their children (all aged 21 months) and we had a fab time playing in all the themed areas. There is a cafe, building yard, medical centre/vets, grocery store and theatre. All areas have costumes and are filled with lots of good quality toys. The grocery area was better stocked with food items than actual supermarkets! There is a drawing and reading area to keep the children entertained while parents have a break and a reasonably priced coffee (or cider!) Both my friends and I commented how clean everything was and they took all our temperatures and asked that we sanitised regularly whilst there. Toilets were also clean, large and had changing facilities and steps/seats for older children. Really great place and so affordable you could go multiple times a month. Will definitely be returning with more friends! Only negative and I’m really looking for something is there were lots of sugary sweets and chocolate bars right on the bottom of the display shelf and no obvious healthier/sugar free snacks options to choose from.

I assumed this was a nursery for years until searching for activities to do, my son loved it especially destroying the wall he built, and playing on the stepping piano. The staff are so kind, friendly and wonderful the atmosphere is exactly what you want. Great service from initial booking to arrival and finally leaving, very clean and tidy with great amenities. Definitely a hidden gem💎

The church is very child friendly and I love how the church dress code is "Come as you are"- I'm normally wearing my tracksuit bottoms and trainers. My oldest child is 13 and younger is 9, they meet up with friends and have made many friends there too. They both love the experience and say how lovely the staff are and the people attending there too. They have no problem requesting music from the DJ who always complies. The place is very clean and cheap for the service they are providing. They do lots more than roller disco there but this is all i can really comment on. Would highly recommend

Visited this place today to watch a friend play in tennis tournament. It was a complete shambles. The access to the indoor tennis courts was right round the back of the building farthest away from the car park and reception. To visit the toilet it was necessary to walk right back round again to the main reception and find the changing rooms where there was 1 disabled toilet in the ladies and 1 in the men's. They are having a refurbishment so there is one toilet available in the whole place! Absolutely incredible when there are many sports going on at a weekend. Has no-one heard of portaloos? Also absolutely nowhere to get refreshments. Awful!

Wednesbury Leisure Centre offers a variety of activities for families, including the exciting Aqua Mayhem inflatable swimming pool. The newly renovated gym provides a spacious and pleasant environment with helpful staff. The facility is clean and hygienic, offering swimming lessons for beginners. Additionally, visitors can enjoy various sports activities such as badminton and swimming, although some areas may need improvement in terms of space and lighting.
What incredible staff at this centre! We booked an aqua mayhem party for my daughter’s 13th and she had the best time ever. The booking process was friendly, easy and helpful. We had all the required info on age ranges, and they insisted that every child wears a life jacket, so non-swimmers don’t stand out from swimmers. There were 3-4 lifeguards helping the kids throughout and they were such fun, splashing the kids and encouraging them to have as much fun as possible. You can hire a party room afterwards which they had laid out beautifully with lights to match the music tempo, and Bluetooth connectivity to play your own playlists. Lots of chairs, clean tables and large changing rooms and toilets. Every member of staff that passed us asked how they could help and were just genuinely welcoming and lovely. I cannot recommend this place enough, they made a special birthday even more special. Thank you all for the fantastic service.

Swimming times here are really silly, only sessions available during the day are 50 minute sessions, by the time your in it’s time to get back out. It was a public swim / lane swim, 3 lanes for swimmers, we get in with my daughter and the whole pool was used for lane swimming with little room for us to swim with my daughter and had to keep moving. Some of the locker keys were broken and many of the lockers were in use without people using the keys so it took us several attempts to find an empty locker. Staff not very welcoming at the reception. Only family swim session was 7:15pm in the small pool or 8-9pm in the big pool when kids will be in bed. This is on weekdays. Paid around £7:70 for a 50 minute session. Won’t be coming again as other local pools have family friends sessions for a lot longer than 50 minutes.

Absolutely silly change for access causing massive queues all in the name of automation when in actuality it looks and feels like it’s been done so the staff don’t have to do much. Other than tell you out loud to download the app. Ridiculous. Hanging ‘village’ always looks like it’s not cleaned properly and the shower block is way too smalll for the number of people needing to use it.

Really happy with our first visit here. My daughter and I came here for a swim after being let down at another venue for our usual lesson. The place is very clean and hygienic, the staff are good and for six pounds, including parking, we were impressed all round. Just be prepared for a 'general' changing area with cubicles instead of separate mens and women's rooms. 20p non-refundable charge for a locker.

Most of how SLT works is designed to squeeze as much cash out of you wherever possible. As soon as you want something changed, expect a fee, a fee, a fee - and, oh, what do you know? Another fee. And lots of 30 day notices. And what's that? You're paying for two memberships even though you clearly stated online that you wanted to change home locations? Guess you better give us a ring even though this problem occured entirely due to poor website design and confusing options. This has been happening over and over in SLT and, frankly, I'll be moving to a different gym ASAP. Predatory practices in a highly stressful present economy right now. P.S. the staff are absolutely fantastic and I've never had an issue with then. They're always polite and welcoming.

Needed to print a copy of an important document. Under time restraint. Staff appeared coldly unapproachable towards a middle aged woman. Stood around chatting amongst themselves after I had asked for assistance 5 minutes prior. Save yourselves the time and effort - go elsewhere!

Blackheath library is good for finding books and using the computers. However I have had negative experiences with a few people there. Other than this, the library is great and host many activities for kids and others like Ancestry day or Homework club.

The physical selection of books there is small. I'd recommend reserving your books on the Sandwell library catalogue service for pickup from there if it's your local. It does have internet connected PCs and reading areas for adults and children. It is a small town library so don't expect Birmingham library level facilities. But it is OK for what it is.

Helpful and friendly staff. Comfy cushions for the kids to lie on and read. Table and chairs for colouring in, or to read at, or even just for parents to sit and wait at. Plenty of books to choose from. They’ve also hosted events, usually free, for the kids. Only a few months ago they hosted the Wonka film on a big screen for free. Our kids love coming here, especially being able to check their own books in and out.

I visited the library with my 2 little kids today and we had a wonderful experience! The atmosphere was welcoming and the library was clean. The library is perfectly located at the junction with parking spaces around the library. The books were well arranged and the staff members were engaging and helpful. I had to register my kids for library cards and it was done in less than 10 minutes. The cards were issued and they could borrow books immediately. The kids area had toys, nice books and painting table. There were also computers for the public members to use and get documents printed at very low rates. Overall we enjoyed our time at the Bleakhouse library today and would definitely visit often.

Visitors praise the warm and inviting atmosphere of the Halesowen shop, noting its cleanliness, affordable furniture, and friendly staff.
I have had the pleasure today of visiting the Halesowen shop and greeted by Sarah the Manager. A lovely lady who was very friendly and welcoming. The shop was clean and tidy with the addition of some furniture that was in good condition and priced affordably. Unlike Blue Cross that also does furniture also this shop is not souless it is warm and inviting. All I can say is well done and I recommend this shop highly. I will be visiting regularly now
MICHAEL D — Google review
A shining example amongst the old and outdated in Halesowen. Modern and spacious but still maintaining the character of a charity shop. 2 minutes from the bus station and a spit away from the multi storey car park by the old Wilkinson's site. This shop offers a wide selection of quality clothes at affordable prices that is rotated regularly and from what I have seen, the other Beacon shops follow the same ethos. The staff are both approachable and knowledgeable often going above and beyond lead by the example of the shop Managers. If you want a relaxed and friendly experience volunteers are always welcome as are any donations. If you enjoy charity shops and do the circuit I would suggest that you start with Beacon. Isn't it better to walk down a hill than walk up!

My eldest daughter has been attending baby college since roughly 1 years old, my youngest for 18 months. They have absolutely loved it! It’s been a great experience for them both, bringing them lots of joy and confidence. They have graduated today, due to nursery and moving house. Would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of taking their children to classes. Laura is amazing with the children, she has lots of knowledge as well as care and understanding. Bishop Asbury Cottage is a historic site dating back to the early 1700s and holds significance as the childhood home of Francis Asbury, the first American Methodist Bishop. The cottage is preserved in its original style, offering a glimpse into the past, and features memorabilia showcasing Asbury's life and career in West Bromwich. Visitors can explore Methodist history in the Black Country and learn about John Wesley's legacy while gaining insights into the local heritage.
A little known character from Black Country history lived here in the second half of the 18th century. Little known because his story is "the story of American Methodism". American Methodists today visit to remember him. He was one of very few Englishmen allowed to stay in America during the Civil war. Met George Washington. Never had a home of his own, spent his life on the road, building the American church from 1771. A great Black Country story.

this 17th century cottage was the boyhood home of one Francis Asbury who ended up being one of the first bishops of one of the early Methodist Churches in the United States... he was there when the USA became independent & to be fair he seems better known in the States (where there is a statue of him in Washington) then in the West Midlands these days... the cottage is now a museum, but it's opening times are very limited & I think if you're going as a group you need to make an appointment first...

Nature & Parks
Lightwoods Park and House is a stunning recreational retreat with vast green lawns, beautiful gardens, a play area, skate park, and tennis court. Situated on around 12 hectares of parkland, this Grade II-listed house has recently undergone an impressive restoration worth £5.2 million to revive its 18th-century magnificence.
Light Wood Park is a fantastic place to relax and enjoy nature! The park is beautifully maintained, with plenty of open green spaces, walking trails, and trees that provide a peaceful escape from the busy surroundings. It’s perfect for families, joggers, or anyone who just wants to unwind outdoors. The children’s play area is well-equipped and safe, keeping the little ones entertained for hours. There’s also plenty of seating scattered around, making it ideal for picnics or simply sitting back and soaking in the scenery. What I really appreciate is how clean and inviting the park feels, with bins conveniently placed to encourage visitors to keep it that way. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into its upkeep.

This park has a nice open grass area that includes both a kids’ playground and a small skate spot. The car park is quite limited in size and closes from 6 PM, which isn’t very convenient. However, you can easily find parking in the nearby streets with very close access. I’m not sure about the general accessibility, and I didn’t notice a designated picnic area with tables or shelters – it looks more like an open space rather than a proper picnic area.

During a visit to Funky Monkeys in West Bromwich, three children had a great time and got sweaty while enjoying themselves. The prices were reasonable, with each child paying £7.50 during peak time for 90 minutes of play. They also purchased three fruit shoots and two bottles of coke for approximately £10. The venue was clean and the staff were friendly. Convenient parking was available at the nearby Tesco for only £1.
I booked a party for my 6 year old daughter at Funky Monkeys West Bromwich and I was so pleased with the service we received. From the staff who greeted us as we arrived to our own party host Ava, everyone was so lovely and welcoming. It was really well organised and Ava talked me through how everything would go and made my daughters party run smoothly and efficiently, she was also really kind and approachable. The food was good and there was lots of it and the ice cream went down well. I was able to decorate our party room and we had tables reserved in the main room for guests. The cake I provided was all taken care of and Ava was just so thoughtful. I can thoroughly recommend this venue for a really well organised and welcoming place that take care of all the details for you. Thank you all so much. My daughter loved her party!

After reading the reviews, I now understand why this place is rated the way it is. Unfortunately, my experience today was extremely disappointing. I visited with my son, my sister, my mum and my nieces. From the moment we walked in, I felt targeted. When my sister went in with her daughter, I explained that my older niece wouldn’t be using the play area. The staff didn’t hear my sister, so I repeated it when I went to pay for my son. Instead of listening, the staff member rudely told me that my niece wasn’t allowed on the play frame at all and warned that if she did, we would be asked to leave. I explained calmly that she wasn’t my child and that my sister had already clarified, but the attitude I received was unnecessarily harsh. Later, my son (who is autistic) had an empty McDonald’s cup with him, as he likes to collect them. While we were sitting quietly, nobody bothered us. But the moment I got up, I noticed a staff member point it out and then throw it away in disgust. The cup was completely empty and harmless, and yet it was taken from our table. Meanwhile, I saw other families freely bringing in outside drinks without being challenged. Finally, when I briefly stepped out to buy food for my dad, I came back holding a takeaway bag. Even though I wasn’t eating it inside and we were about to leave, I was stopped at the entrance and spoken to in a very rude and dismissive way. When I asked if I could at least collect my bag that I had left inside, I was flatly refused and forced to shout across the noisy room to try to get my mum’s attention. In the end, I had to phone her just so I could retrieve my belongings — all while staff stood by watching. Overall, the staff here were rude, unprofessional, and showed no consideration for children with additional needs. They spent more time chatting among themselves than engaging with customers. The food is overpriced, the service is poor, and the environment is not inclusive. I will never return and would advise others to visit Humpty Dumptys which is amazing staff, staff are lovely and food is reasonable or any other play centre instead. Just don't go here!
Leanna S — Google review
Great little play centre for children. I just wished that other parents looked after their children as they should, the signs also said this, as there were some children running up the slides and putting items down then. This really put my 2 year old off some of the equipment
Gareth J — Google review
Too hot to even sit in, had to go outside 6 times to cool down. Staff doing nothing to cool it down, no fans, no open doors or air- conditioning. Kids playing when it that hot in side but cool outside. Not impressed
Leah F — Google review
The softplay was good but quite dirty and sticky in parts. Also their was one staff member who shouted at my 2 year old quite aggressively and belittle my mum (who didn’t speak much English) as she was trying to handle my child, however the staff’s tone & manner changed as soon as I walked up to her (speaking English) which really bothered me. I think staff should be taught better manners when handling these types of situations, we’ve been to various different softplays and they’ve always been polite but firm when I’ve witnessed them in similar situations so on that basis I won’t be returning, however my son enjoyed the time he was there.

Been here twice, last visit was years ago and practically nothing has changed aside from removing what little seating there was and replacing with arcade games and 3 small sofas. Games are fun and personally find the round lengths and breaks long enough, however you won't find any seats outside of a game. Group of 18 adults and only 6 could fit on the sofas everyone else either sat on the floor or had to stand, would've been worse if there were other teams playing. Clearly no plans for a much needed renovation which is disappointing but guess there's no need to the business since people will still book the place anyway. Food is overpriced, games are too considering it's only 2 rounds 20ish minutes each and the experience outside of any game. This is keeping in mind the place was booked out for 2 rounds too. Appears to be way more staff on site than needed regardless of how many customers there are, could use the money somewhere else to prevent the same complaints. There was 4-5 staff for 2 rounds booked 18 adults and we only spoke to the same single staff member during each game. Staff were lovely and very approachable. They don't appear to have any measures for health concerns such as asmtha or pregnancy during games either, concerning if your child has any health concerns and no support in case of an emergency is offered.

Ideal place for bowling if you don't want noise and loads of school kids around. Plenty of lanes, good free car park at the back. Register your car or get a fine! Staff were very friendly and helpful and polite to the kids, who loved the atmosphere and food. Ideal alternative to star city to avoid the rush and noise

My daughters birthday party was 20 mins each session. The each session didn't even lasted 15 mins. In terms of food it's highly recommended to order before the start of game as pizza portions is small. Bit over crowded and too little room for waiting parents. The value for money is not much

Had a great afternoon with the family. We all really enjoyed it. The laser guns were great - much better than our previous visit a year ago. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We had great fun - will definitely be going back.

The games were good but annoyed by the staff who didn't think it was necessary to tell me that they had an offer on. I paid a lot more and no pizza included. Once I paid I was told there was also an offer I could have taken at a much cheaper price which also included a pizza for me family. I saw them smirking saying they could not refund once I paid for it.

I'm only giving 2 stars because the staff was helpful. Had my daughters bday party there. The place is really dated, it really needs a renovation. The parking is very tight, the food was really bad. There was enough if it, but it wasn't nice. The area is bad as well. In general it was my fault I didn't do a research of the place, if I had I wouldn't booked it to be honest.

No safety measures in place! I woild give this place a ZERO but thats not possible. Therefore giving it a 1!Children had been informed by staff at the beginning that whilst playing in the laser area, if any issues or problems, please let us know as a member of staff will be available at the exit door. However, one particular group of older children were targeting and bullying the younger vulnerable ones. When they tried to find the member of staff, they were non existent and nowhere to be seen! When they did locate the member of staff, they were too busy on their phones! We shall not be coming here again.

Inflata Nation Inflatable Theme Park in Birmingham offers a unique experience by having the entire room built as a massive inflatable. Visitors can bounce on inflatable platforms between activities and can choose to pay for either an hour or two hours of bouncing. The park is located at Unit E, Stechford Retail Park and is open from 10AM Monday through Sunday with closing time at 7PM.
Last week i came here with my friend and her 3 year old little sister. She had a lovely time and us adults were wore out completely after!! We went into the big kids area as before it was suitable for that sort of age of kids as long as they are accompanied. We soon realised that it was way too much so just a warning for people bringing kids who are new here or haven’t seen the new layout that the main area is not suitable for kids not as confident or under the age of 5 (or if they are physically small). The little ones’ area is much better now in my opinion and it has much more challenging things in there but it is still age appropriate. The little 3 year old we took found it challenging but she is small for her age. Great place for kids to burn off loads of energy and have loads of fun!! I do recommend buying tickets in advance as there are specific hour slots and you have to wait for the next one because you pay for entire hour slots and before the next one starts you have to leave.

This place is massive. It’s a hollowed out manufacturing facility and the inflatables go nearly wall to wall and to the ceiling. It was incredible to see and watch the kids lose themselves in the multiple areas - there an observation sitting area that gives a look down view. We took our daughter for her birthday, and after 2 hours all the kids were exhausted in the best way possible. We took our 12, 10 and 6 year olds and they had no issues navigating the obstacles. The staff was super nice and let us go in early as we had a time confusion with our tickets. The were staff walking the various areas when kids were in and kept everyone in order if they got too rowdy.

I recently visited Inflata Nation in Birmingham and had a fantastic time! It’s a great indoor activity spot, especially for families, groups of friends, or even adults looking for something a bit different. The inflatable arena is huge and packed with a variety of fun features: giant slides, obstacle courses, climbing walls, and even a dedicated section for younger children. Everything is brightly coloured, clean, and well-maintained, which made it feel safe and welcoming. The staff were friendly and gave clear safety briefings before the session started. There were plenty of staff members on the floor during the bounce time, keeping an eye on everyone and making sure things ran smoothly. One thing to note: the sessions are typically one hour long, which sounds short but is actually more than enough – bouncing around is way more tiring than you think! There’s also a café area for parents or anyone who wants to sit out and watch. Prices are reasonable for the experience, though weekends and holidays can get quite busy, so it’s best to book in advance.

This place is massive in comparison to our local one. It's cleaned regularly, the inflatables themselves are spotless and the staff are really friendly. Only problem I've found is a missing lock on one bathroom stall but thats it. My step daughter and fiance love this place

I went to the toddler only session which is only from 12-1 which feels a little short as by the time you have fished the kids out the ball pits a few times and climbed up a slide or two the session is over. The place is huge and there is plenty to do as we were allowed to use the main arena as well, The staff were very friendly and helpful. The drinks area was cash only on the day I attended so not sure if this is usual practice but do be prepared just in case. I found a very limited number of Lockers to store shoes in but you wouldn't be able to fit much else in and they cost money to use.

I booked this venue for my son’s 4th birthday party, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. Firstly, the party room provided had no air conditioning, and it was incredibly hot and humid, making it very uncomfortable for both the children and adults. Despite raising this issue, the staff were dismissive and unhelpful throughout. We had two party hosts assigned to us, but they showed no interest in helping or engaging. They were rude, lacked basic courtesy, and acted as though they didn’t want to be there. We had to repeatedly ask for simple things like juice and other refreshments that were already part of the package we paid for. Even then, we were met with attitude and delays. The food was of very poor quality—stale chips and what looked like frozen pizza that had simply been heated up. Certainly not what you expect when paying for a party package. To make matters worse, in an attempt to address the heat, they brought in an air cooler—which ended up taking time away from the children’s play session. Despite losing that time, no extra playtime was offered, which was unfair to the children. The room itself was also dirty and clearly hadn’t been properly cleaned or mopped before the party started, which was unacceptable. Overall, I would not recommend this venue for hosting a party—especially not during warm weather, as it significantly affects the experience. The lack of cleanliness, poor service, subpar food, and general lack of care from the staff made what should have been a joyful celebration a frustrating and uncomfortable event.

Really good fun, we had the place to ourselves for an hour. Our first hour they didn't put music on so the atmosphere was a bit dead and all you could hear was us laughing - felt a bit awks. The slides are great - great place to have some fun. Wear long sleeves if you don't want friction burns!

Kids absolutely live this place. (Pretry sure adults have fun as well) Lots of ball pits to jump in. Several big slides and an obsticle course. Just out if your little one is buried in the balls as bigger kids throw themselves in.
