Worthing Pier, built in 1862, has been recognized as Pier of the Year by the National Piers Society twice. It extends 1,000 feet into the sea and offers stunning sea views. The pier features an amusement arcade from 1935 and a pavilion with a theater and cafe at its northern end. Visitors can enjoy traditional video games, old-school penny pushers, and adult gaming at the casino.
Nice place to visit sunny day . The access group employees including me visited the place to clean the beach organised by marine conservation society. Please help them. There are good few eateries in the area and shops.

What a beautiful well preserved Victorian pier. Well worth a walk along and to view the lovely art work. We walked on their when the sun began to go down - the sun shone through the art.
JE S — Google review
The pier is delightful, full of charm & nostalgia. I'm not sure if it mixes into the modern-day equation? Victorians used to " take in the air" in seaside resorts with piers. For me it's beautiful.
Michael R — Google review
Very agreeable place for breakfast, not been later in the day, but the the breakfast set up is good, fast and tasty. Took my parents and sister, friendly staff, cool view out the windows (you're at the end of the pier) and free parking on a Sunday. Nothing super special but worth the trip

We were staying in Worthing for a few days in July and this was walking distance from our house rental. It’s a beautiful pier with restaurants and art decorations. We lucked out that was a beautiful clear day and we had a glimpse of the sunset.
Catherine H — Google review
Great fun in the arcade, some good 2p machines and ticket machines. Massive shout out to staff member Lewis, he was brilliant, gave us great advice and help with the ticket gifts.

Nice and clean beach with less crowded than other Beach 🏖️, it got some sand on some part of the beach. We will get lot of free parking spaces, and good restaurants near by. Overall highly recommended for a day our or a weekend relaxation.

Highdown Gardens, located on the western edge of Worthing in West Sussex, England, is a must-visit landmark with its stunning sea views and remarkable collection of rare and colorful plants. Situated on Highdown Hill in the South Downs National Park, these gardens are set in an old chalk pit, making them a unique and flourishing site for various plant species. The picturesque setting offers seasonal attractions such as beautiful snowdrops in February.
This is one of my favourite local places to visit when I feel like just having a short walk by myself. It's completely free, there's plenty of nearby parking and, whatever time of year, the gardens are always interesting. It's thoughtfully set out, with plenty of seating and less exposed areas - perfect for when you just want some time by yourself.
Debbie M — Google review
Beautiful gardens. Free parking (must be under 2.1m as there's a barrier. We went on a busy bank holiday and whilst we had to park in the overflow car park there was plenty of room still. Lovely walk around the gardens, took us around 1-2 hours with adult children including stopping for a short sit down. There's a pond there, quite shallow but watch young children. It has an enormous fish in it which even my adult kids loved spotting and in May loads of tadpoles which younger kids would enjoy spotting. There are plenty of shaded as well as open spots to walk around and what seems to be a small visitor centre at the start (it wasn't open when we went so can't comment on it). Not somewhere to spend the day but certainly somewhere to stop for a short walk if you have time. The toilets are not pleasant and it could have done with a map of the place at the start so you didn't miss any of it and I understand why they don't want dogs but it's also frustrating when there is a wide open hill next door to walk your dog but you can't then take them into the gardens. All in all however definitely worth stopping off. There's also no right turn into there so you have to do to the roundabout and back to turn into it if heading from east to west.
Susie D — Google review
What a find , free parking , free entry to this stunning little oasis of a garden. Really worth a visit , hope to go another day when plants are for sale . Great for a quiet picnic lots of benches and accessible too . No dogs .
Andy D — Google review
Lovely gardens. So much shade which is cool to stop and rest under. All the trees are labelled so you can learn as you go around. Toilets are available at the start of the gardens but there is also a cafe and pub.
Grace A — Google review
Amazing place. 100% worth visiting, you can see beautiful plants and chill out. Plenty of space n benches. Perfect place to relax 😊
Magda L — Google review
A beautiful place. Recommended to me by a dendrologist I know. This place was set up by a gentleman and his wife who created a garden on chalk!!! Not very large, but there is a nursery nearby for coffee and Highdown Hill which can be walked from Highdown Gardens car park. Has a very gradual incline so is quite easy. Very popular with dog walkers. We sat at the top on a beautiful, hot, sunny late afternoon in June and saw skylarks 😊 hovering above
Nyla S — Google review
Really worth a visit. The gardens are magical and there are trees covered in silk and silk worms. Fascinating to see. It is such a peaceful and wonderful place.

Beautiful Garden! Highly recommended for a family walk or picnic. Peaceful, clean with loads of different trees and flowers. There are a lot of spots to sit down and relax.

With an impressive collection that spans from archaeological artifacts to decorative arts, this museum offers a unique glimpse into the past. Visitors can marvel at one of the largest costume collections in the UK, showcasing exquisite Regency and Victorian fashion that will transport you back in time. The museum also celebrates local pride with exhibits highlighting 55,000 years of Worthing's achievements.
This is an interesting local museum to go to and as far as I know there are good things for children to do although I didn't have children with me. Lots of information about local archaeological digs on the downs. Lovely costumes too view and galleries. I've always enjoyed going in
Carole A — Google review
This is a really charming multi level museum / art gallery for those who like history, design, contemporary art, photography and sculptures. It's extremely family friendly with children's areas, educational activities and exhibits with fashion & costumes, old artefacts and various local and household items throughout time. If you're The best part is it's spacious, quiet, and FREE to enter. If you're looking for an activity to do on a budget, it's worth supporting this local gem. Each room has a different theme with large open plan spacing, even on a weekend you feel like you're in you're own little art world. There's a beautiful gift shop in the reception / entry with small items, books, children's gifts and small pieces from local artists and creators that are perfect for giving as a present for someone special or treating yourself. The cards are a highlight, with so many designs for every occasion!
B A — Google review
Lots to see and covers a large range of different parts of history. Nice tidy and well presented rooms and displays. The gift shop also has nice cute gifts such as gemstones (shown in images) The small garden area is peaceful and looks stunning in the summer.
Annabelle — Google review
Very interesting, particularly the areas of local interest and archaeology. I went with my granddaughter and we both really loved the Trevor Scobie exhibition and hope to meet him on Saturday 20th July. For anybody wanting to know more about the West Sussex area and what's on, Worthing Museum is a great place to start. Just wish I'd visited years ago. It's quite eclectic and next time I would like to concentrate more on the clothes and fabrics. You can simply pop in and spend a short time or take longer, it really doesn't matter and is a great way to introduce young people to a museum.
Yvonne B — Google review
Such a beautiful gallery - small but a really nice space and the two exhibitions I've been to were well curated. The museum is also very interesting and a great size - not so big you feel overwhelmed, but big enough to make it worth the visit. Free entry but they take donations.
Amy S — Google review
Wonderful building with a great mix of exhibits and art. If you are interested in early Britain, then is definitely for you. Ideal for families. Easy access. Free.
Roland R — Google review
This is an excellent local museum. There is an archaeological section with info on the geology of the area as well as artefacts. Fashion is the speciality of the museum, with many outfits that are hundreds of years old as well as some modern replicas made from paper. When we visited there was an exhibition of work from "invisible people" that was very moving. Taking the Japanese idea of kintsugi, when items are repaired visibly, so that the broken parts become beautiful, people reflect on their broken lives in works of art. This is a well-curated museum which good exhibitions that interact with the local community.
Judy H — Google review
How lucky are we to have this incredible museum on our doorstep and free entry. Unfortunately the costume gallery was having a change over but they had incredibly moving exhibitions on autism and homelessness. Well worth a visit

National Trust - Cissbury Ring is a captivating 84.2-hectare site in West Sussex, boasting an Iron Age hill fort and a Neolithic flint mine. As one of the largest hill forts in Europe, it covers approximately 60 acres and offers stunning views after a steep climb. Visitors can explore the surrounding South Downs area, which includes local nature reserves like Mill Hill and Lancing Ring.
Stunning open views over rolling hills, fields, and pastures, with the English Channel visible in the distance. A perfect place to enjoy the sunshine on the grass, listen to birdsong under the shade of trees, and feel the breeze as you connect with nature. Great for dog walking. There’s a free car park, but no other facilities—please take your litter home and help keep this beautiful spot clean.
Jack L — Google review
Beautiful spot, nice walk up the Ring with an outlook on Portsmouth and the offshore wind farm, plus the surrounding countryside. I thought the iron age history could be better documented as there was no info at the site. Perhaps locals don't want the site over visited. Narrow single-lane access with hedge rows so watch the scrapes on your car. Parking is tight if busy.
Wayne E — Google review
Take great care on car park deep holes or park in village and walk up hill. Steep climb to the top but beautiful views when you get there. Not much else to see only chalk path and iron age mounds . No facilities.
Warren H — Google review
We were staying in Worthing for a few days and found this place close by for hiking. We walked up the hill which had panoramic views of the pasture and Worthing. There were sheeps grazing in the pasture. It is worth visiting and hiking the area.
Catherine H — Google review
Lovely walks along the ring at different levels. Views to the sea and to the downs. Nice circulars from Findon with good coffee available with a minor detour by the A24.
Jef C — Google review
Nice place with easy parking and good views. Ideal for a picnic or casual walk.

Free parking, bit of a hike to the top, but the views more than make up for it! So beautiful. Few fact " cards" scattered around. Beautiful site

Superb views. Walking to the top yesterday I saw the Isle of Wight, Seven Sisters and Chanctonbury Ring looking in various directions. As well as the ponies plenty of other wildlife to see. I saw a nightingale yesterday and often you see birds of prey in the air very near Cissbury Ring

Worthing Beach is a charming seaside destination located on the edge of the South Downs. It offers a variety of attractions, activities, and dining options. The beach features a mix of sand and shingle, making it perfect for rock pooling during low tide. Visitors can explore underwater creatures with their families while enjoying the picturesque surroundings. Additionally, there are amenities such as a cafe on the pier and an end-of-pier theatre to enhance the experience.
Pebble Beach – A Stunning & Unique Seaside Escape! I recently visited Pebble Beach with my friends, and it was a refreshing change from typical sandy shores! The smooth, colorful pebbles, clear waters, and serene atmosphere made it a perfect day out.

Lovely sunny day to share with Alan. The smell of the seaweed, the sound of the waves. We had a delicious meal at the Perch on the pier. It was relaxing. Great to go to a place which is disable and wheelchair friendly.
Sandra L — Google review
It’s been 30 years since I last visited Worthing beach, have to say it’s 30 times better than 30 years ago. I remember it struggling and quite run down, bit it’s now fairly vibrant and looking really clean and definitely a beach worth visiting definitely an upgrade on Bognor and a lot cleaner than Brighton. Also plenty to do as you have the pier and all the Victorian architecture that’s goes with this period definitely a thumbs up. Parking fairly cheap as well, either £7 for 5 hrs or £13 for the day
Nicolas P — Google review
Nice seaside experience in Worthing. Stoney beach, nice pier. Great place to walk.
A T — Google review
Worthing Beach is one of those places that balances natural beauty with a calm, welcoming atmosphere. The long stretch of shingle and sand has an open, uncluttered feel, giving you wide views of the horizon where the sea seems to melt into the sky. On clear days, the water sparkles with a soft, silvery light, and when the tide is out, you can walk far out across smooth, rippled sand. The promenade adds to the charm—lined with cafés, gardens, and gentle activity—yet it never feels overwhelming or crowded. Sunsets at Worthing Beach are particularly striking, painting the coastline in warm golds and pinks, creating a serene and almost meditative scene. It’s not dramatic like some cliff-lined coasts, but that’s part of its beauty: it’s peaceful, understated, and easy to lose yourself in, whether you’re strolling, sitting with a book, or just listening to the waves.
Thomas G — Google review
It's the sea and its air let's you know. The old buildings were beautiful to take in and admire. However they do need some loving and up keep. It's was delightful to see so many fisherman on the peer enjoying the sun while fishing.
Ricky S — Google review
Beautiful, I can see that during the day it can be very busy. However, I am basing this review on the fact that we arrived at the beach at 9pm, and for that reason it was gorgeous. At that time of night, it was nice and peaceful, and being that it's summer it was still light. The view was lovely! It is a stone beach like Brighton, but it's not as bad, and a car park near the seafront is free after 6pm. I would highly recommend visiting if your not far, and visit late evening.
Olivia A — Google review
Worthing Beach is an excellent choice if you’re looking for a relaxed day out by the sea. It’s less commercialized than some other beaches along the Sussex coast, making it ideal for families, couples, and anyone looking to enjoy the sea without the hustle and bustle of busier tourist spots. Whether you’re strolling along the promenade, enjoying water sports, or simply soaking up the sun, Worthing offers a quintessential English seaside experience. Parking just £2.80 for full day

Nestled at the end of the pier, Worthing Pavilion Theatre is a stunning example of 1920s architecture that serves as a vibrant hub for musical performances and theatrical shows. As part of a cultural trust that includes other local venues like Connaught Theatre and Worthing Assembly Hall, it plays an essential role in promoting the arts within the community. This collaboration allows for innovative programming and greater opportunities to secure funding, ensuring that creative endeavors continue to flourish.
Great entertainment found here on many occasions. Lost in music recently was brilliant & you could get up & dance. Real good feel evening.
Kimbee — Google review
Came recently for Robin hood, friendly staff. Good seating. Just be cautious choosing much further out from main middle block of seating as stage is deep, so view is restricted.
Jade M — Google review
A great place to attend performances and shows. Staff are friendly and extremely helpful. There is also an excellent ice cream shop right next to the theatre. However, the men’s toilets are horrible, they smell like a medieval dungeon!!!
Vasilis T — Google review
Seating is slightly tiered. Toilets in theatre have steep steps so use ones at the bar entrance. Side door entry for bar. Serves hot & cold drinks, snacks( festive hot choc & mince pies) with alt/vegan milks. All staff helpful and happy. I'd go to this venue again..
Green L — Google review
staff were very helpful but no air-conditioning in main theatre which made it hot and uncomfortable seating excellent with plenty of legroom bar staff were very efficient and friendly maybe they could invest in some fresh air blowers
Steve T — Google review
Beautiful building in a great location. Love all the original features.
Grantly L — Google review
Wouldn't ever return here when there is others theatres to choose from. I was actually shocked with how old and horrible the seats are! See my pictures. This place needs ripping out and some money spent on it quick! Show was good but my goodness everything this is shocking. Not tiered either. Leg room is tight and seats close with them all picked and falling apart. Is the sound system old too? The show was on the quiet side. Wack the volume up! Worth noting the staff were pleasant.
Mrs F — Google review
Recently saw 'Flawless' dance troupe here, couple of small points...the rows of seats are incredibly close to each other so when you try to make your way to your seat past people who are already seated it's a real tight squeeze! Plus it's a little dated but otherwise the staff were friendly & helpful, drinks at the bar are reasonably priced, the theatre was comfortable (although I got a little numb from the seat, but that might've just been me as my sister didn't have an issue) and the sound system was great. Definitely worth a visit, always a good variety of shows here.

The swimming pool at Splashpoint Leisure Centre is well-maintained and superior to the pools in Brighton. The staff is exceptionally friendly and diligent, particularly the receptionist with red hair who provides valuable assistance. The changing rooms are notably cleaner than those found in other pools. Although lane swimming is available, the diving pool was unfortunately unavailable during the visit. The showers were inconsistent regarding water temperature; some were cold while others were pleasantly hot.
Haven't been swimming for a number of years but I have recently had to have a Hernia operation that needed a larger incision than normal (5" scar). So Swimming & a Sauna is a massive part of my rehab & later on some Gym work will also be a benefit. Swimming, Sauna & Gym, all in one handy place at Worthing Splashpoint Leisure Centre! Wonderful new building with three separate area's for Swimming. 1 fun family friendly pool with a waterside & other fun stuff, 2 a Lanes pool unfortunately not Olympic Length but plenty long enough to make me feel that only 10 lengths was plenty long enough in my current condition, 3 diving pool that makes me wish for years gone by. All the pools are very well attended by multiple Lifeguards, who were all very attentive & switched on. I could see that each of the Lifeguards had their duty posts rotated at good short intervals which is very reassuring & shows they really know what they are doing. The Sauna is off away from the family pool & is Heavenly & a real treat. I haven't seen the Gym yet that's aways down the road for me at the moment. I can't say that the website you'll be directed to is great, it's not. The two bookings I've made so far went wrong. What is great is the staff at the reception desk, incredibly helpful & managed to sort out the kinks with my bookings with ease. A super helpful lady Joe really helped. I will be popping along to see Louisa, a member of the Splashpoint membership team to discuss my best membership options. While I've only been there twice since my operation I know that the Swimming & Sauna have really helped, easier to move & less pain. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Bob B — Google review
Louisa on the upstairs front desk of the gym is extremely officious and authoritarian and makes it very clear that she is the boss, considering this is a tax payer funded facility and the members are paying her wages, I hope her attitude will change in the future! The light and space itself is great, although some of the facilities could be maintained better.
Harley W — Google review
Went with two kids on an inflate session day, extremely crowded in both pools. Multiple people doing down the slide at once in incorrect positions and lifeguards spoke to them 1/5 of the time. Lifeguards in the inflatable section told off most of the kids (some of them not even in the wrong) but overall good experience for what it was worth but would go to larger splash parks in the future.
Ollie H — Google review
An excellent leisure centre. Choose your staff member carefully and you will get both freindly and professional service. Some of the Reception staff and trainers make it a joy to be there. Sadly, the equipment and staffing levels are showing signs of inevitable financial cutbacks - not the fault of the staff of course. SDL's investors might want to think of this when they receive their next dividend. However, if you are disabled and dependent on the lift, - beware. It frequently breaks down and takes weeks to repair. A management statement of outrage with the maintenance company would go a long way. Quibbles aside, Splashpoint enriches Worthing lives.
Kevin S — Google review
I went there today 11.6.25,a lovely blonde girl helped me about adding my licence no for 2 hours free parking. then went to pay for kids pool with my grandaughter, ( I had phone up twice no one told me the kids pool was closed) but the young lady went and spoke to someone in the office. was told we cols go in the kids pool, the life guards were great too, my grandaughter loved the pool, I just want to thank them all especially the young lady on reception she made our 1st time taking Mt grandaughter there, and the lifeguard who made sure it was a great experience she only just over two, had the best time thank you all so very much.xx
Donner C — Google review
I think Splashpoint are brilliant for swimming lessons for kids. And diving lessons. Just a small detail which means a lot, which takes 3 stars away from an otherwise great pool, is that unlike other organisations who take the time to show they care about the children's achievements, the fact they just hand over a blank certificate they can't be bothered to not only fill the child's name in but also the examiner doesnt even bother signing it so the certificate means absolutely zilch. I think splashpoint if you could at least be bothered to get the Teachers to sign the certificates they might actually mean something? All my daughters other clubs the teachers take the time to sign. And it does mean a lot to the child. Surely each day that is certificate day the Teachers could just sign the examiner signature section at least? Especially being I have to also pay £3.95 for the privilege of getting one. Devil is in the detail and this is a significant one.
J W — Google review
Splashpoint swimming has gotten cleaner since our last visit. There are 4 pool areas kids leisure pool, a small outside pool, a main indoor pool and a separate diving area with 3 diving boards. Mixed changing areas and lockers cost 10p which is non refundable. Poolside viewing is free and there is also a small cafe area. There is a fitness suite upstairs. If you use the pay and display parking adjacent to the pool then take your parking ticket stub to reception as they will refund the cost of parking. I got a £2 refund which was nice but they can’t back date it!
Simon K — Google review
Very nice place for kids and adults. Good for relaxation and sport. I gave 4 stars from 5 as GYM room is pretty small for the amount of people attending to and not enough power lifting machines. Another negative point is that the main pool is often used for classes or training which makes it unavailable for the rest of customers. Overall, it's a good place for any age to come to relax and doing sport.

This Grade II listed landmark, which dates back to around 1750, offers visitors an opportunity to explore its fascinating history and operational mechanics during guided tours available on the first and third Sundays from April through September.
Excellent. Not open inside yet (a few weeks to go) but stunning example of a post mill. Spoke with someone doing some work on The electrics. This is a fully working mill (wind dependent)

Was not open on Sunday in Dec month, but loved the experience of walking towards this hill site and view around the kinda village streets nearby

What a fantastic group of volunteers and tour guides, working tirelessly to save this really important mill for us and the future generations. Definitely get along there for one of their open days or events! Really good value for money and the Biscoff cake is amazing :)

High Salvington Windmill (originally called Durrington Mill with a 'date' of 1700 inscribed above the door) is a Grade II listed post mill in High Salvington, Sussex that has been restored and is in full working order. Standing at 320-ft above sea level, the mill enjoys the advantages of incoming sea winds off the English Channel. The High Salvington Windmill Trust acquired the mill in late 2007, and had completed restoration by 2009. All the ongoing maintenance and restoration work at the mill is carried out by the volunteer 'millwrights'.
Mcdermc — Google review
They do a lovely guided tour inside the windmill and if you're lucky, the mill gets repositioned while you're having a tour. It still grinds too. There's a coffee shop and tidbits you can buy on site. All for a kiss.
Martin Z — Google review
Open days are brilliant for kids and adults. Lots to do for only a few pence..games are only 30p to 50p a go.. you can also do a tour of the windmill.

Beautiful place to spend an afternoon. Family- & dog-friendly. £1 entry & £1 tours. Small coffee shop & gift shop. Very interesting tour from Jeff, who was an enthusiastic & friendly volunteer

We parked at the bottom of the gallops and walked up to the windmill, £1 each for adults and children were free, this included a guided tour of the windmill which was beautifully restored. Tea, cakes and ice lollies were £4 in total what a bargain 😋

Ferring Country Centre is an excellent destination for families with children, offering a pleasant environment and helpful staff. On a scorching day, the animals were well looked after, demonstrating their commitment to animal welfare. Ample parking and easy access make it suitable for all visitors. The affordable entrance fee of £3.50 makes it an attractive option compared to other local attractions. Well-placed handwashing facilities provide convenience and cleanliness, while the on-site horse box offers refreshments.
We had a lovely time at Ferring Country Centre. Such a great space for all the animals they have there. There’s a children’s outdoor playground, as well as an indoor soft play area for a small additional cost. The service in the cafe and food was really good too. We will be back again. Thanks.

Love this place. Never fails when I’m short of an idea to entertain the toddler. £1.50 (I think) for soft play. Cafe is good too with differing breakfast and lunch menu. It can get very busy, and sometimes people hog the high chairs - could do with having a few more available; also find some overstay their hour soft play, staff were really bang on top of this for a while but have relaxed a bit now. Outside farm and play park is also great!
Adam M — Google review
Great little place to take the kids for a hour or more. Super friendly and helpful staff, we visited on one of the hottest days of the year and the animals was being well cared for. Plenty of car parking space, easy access for the less able bodied. The £3.50 entrance fee was very reasonable considering other attractions in the area. Well thought out locations for hand washing and plenty. Refreshments available from the on site horse box. The garden center also had a good selection of healthy plants available to buy. Would certainly recommend!
Paul J — Google review
Just a lunch today but have wandered around the grounds on other visits. Good selection of food and drink to choose from. Busy at times which says a lot. Watched the horse riders enjoying themselves, and the Robins and birds taking in the sun
Steve C — Google review
The cafe can be very good with lovely food. However, we often find that the service is ridiculously slow. Sadly they seem incapable of having someone take the orders, then another person make the coffees for them to be delivered. Today, for example, we waited over ten minutes for one person to be served and then wait for their coffee while the one server took their order and made three coffees. With another person in front a further 10+ minutes wait was on the cards so we gave up and went elsewhere. They really do need to look at the consistency. On some occasions they have it down and the users are taken while someone else manages the coffee machine. Then the service is acceptable. Suspect we’re not the only ones to have given up! And it wasn’t busy - before that’s used as an excuse! We hope this feedback will be taken onboard and the process reviewed to give better, consistent and faster service.
Ian H — Google review
I was thoroughly impressed with how immaculate the place was. The cafe, unfortunately, had a lot to be desired. They were out of stock of a lot of stuff which was surprising for a Friday before an August Bank holiday open day weekend. Word to the wise, bring your own food and eat on the benches in the playground.
Jennifer C — Google review
Had a lovely time here today. Huge variety of animals to look at and lots to do for children. Small play area inside and a play area outside. Cafe was lovely, had a nice lunch and most definitely a home-made mince pie! Staff were friendly. Lovely gift shop too.

I regularly go up on Highdown Hill covering approximately 4 miles each time covering different routes through depending on how energetic I am feeling that day. Walking round the hill you will take in great view’s inland and the coast. This is a great walk for novice walkers, dog walkers, runners, kids and many others I probably have not thought of. There is great spot at the top of the hill for a picnic with the family as well as a picnic area near the car park. (Please ensure you put your rubbish in the bins and if they are full take it home. Otherwise the animals will have the rubbish everywhere and this ruins the site for everyone). The car park is free and near to this there is the Highdown Gardens which is also free and there is a tea rooms just outside the car park. #dogwalk #picnicspot #walking #kidfriendly #greatviews

Carolyn B — Google review
1 / 1 WARNING TO DOG WALKERS This is a very pleasant park which we use quite frequently when walking from the Lyndhurst Road car park to the sea front with our dogs. This is not primarily a review of the park, however: it is a warning to dog owners to beware of two aggressive and dangerous dogs we encountered yesterday afternoon (around 3.45 p.m. on 31 May). On our way through the park, we noticed a man (aged about 30) with two dogs on leads (a dark brown French bulldog (probably male) and a medium-sized black and white dog, which appeared to be a cross of some kind – probably a pitbull cross or some other bull breed). The man passed us some distance away and joined a woman of a similar age with a small toddler. Shortly afterwards the French bulldog ran away from them at high speed and made straight for our own French bulldog; to our great surprise and shock (particularly given that, in our experience, such behaviour is not typical of the breed), it attacked our dog. It was followed by the other dog, which joined in the attack. We were able to lift both our dogs out of harm’s way before any serious damage was done, and the aggressive dogs’ owner managed to restrain them, while muttering an apology. He then left the park with his family. On this occasion, we managed to protect our dogs from serious harm, but it was a close shave; and someone less agile or less able to lift a dog (such as an elderly person, of whom a number could be seen in the park) might have fared less well. So please be aware of this if you take your dogs to Beach House Park. As for the aggressive dogs’ owner, in the unlikely event that you read this, you need to ensure: a. that your dogs are muzzled in public places; b. that your (very young) child is not put at risk of injury by your dogs; and c. that you try to learn how to keep them away from other dogs: not letting go of their leads would be a good start.

A fantastic place for some amazing cakes and lovely coffee. Lots of toys for the little ones to play with, aswell as a great small scale jungle gym for the toddlers. Secure and safe, clean and comfortable. The people working here were really freindly and chatty. I couldn't recommend a visit here highly enough.

To quote my 2yr old “i Loves toybox” Lots of fun variety of things to play with. Adore the cakes so much so I’ve hired the baker to do my wedding. Always have a great time and exhausts my daughter. We buy the monthly pass as it allows us to go on an impromptu rainy day without thinking about additional budgeting. Have oat milk and soy milk which is great for allergies. Bright fun filled space ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

wonderful asset to the town, so lovely to have somewhere you can enjoy a hot drink while you're child plays. It was extremely busy but that is to be expected on a rainy Sunday morning and I think it will calm down once its been open a little longer. I love that there are other toys besides the soft play & my son throughly enjoyed trying them all out. Look forward to our next visit 😊

This is a great cafe with soft play in the centre of Worthing town. It has a mixture of soft play and role play toys. It’s not the biggest soft play area so would recommend mid week as I imagine it’s busy on weekends. I’d recommend extending and have two areas for younger ages. Simple but good selection on the menu. Nice clean layout with friendly staff. We’ll visit again!!

Amazing cafe in Worthing. Came here a few weeks ago with family for my birthday as we have two toddlers and it was perfect. The kids went off to play and we could see wherever they were from our table meaning we didn't have to follow them round and could just sit and relax. The food is great and really reasonably priced and the brownies are out of this world. Staff are lovely and friendly too. Would definitely recommend and will be coming here again!

Brilliant place. Everything has been thought through by the owner. As a parent it is hard to find somewhere that caters for much younger kids, other than soft play. It's a great place for us to bring our 18month old child to play, everything is well priced. Coffee, cakes and service all amazing. It's a lovely atmosphere and look forward to our next trip. Keep up the great work

I visited with my wife and 3 year old on what looked to be a very busy day! Despite this we felt that the service was attentive and the team did a good job of keeping things running. The food was good (plenty of options for little mouths) and I actually got to eat in peace as my son was busy with the play equipment. He enjoyed the roleplay toys and playing with other children in a safe environment. Coffee and cake looked excellent too. I'll try them out on my next visit!

Great area for a family day out. You have the play park, ice cream, skate park, plenty of space for running around and games, and it's right next to the beach and the Perch Cafe. There is a large pay and display car park which is cheap.

Brilliant old family fun. We aways go to this place to play on the 2p machines to see if we can win a prize which some days we did and we did not but is not a big deal because we will be back on the machines again and walking on the pier
Jar M — Google review
This place is an absolute joke: If there’s even a slight breeze they don’t bother putting the bouncy castle up. In fact I’ve never seen it up regardless of the weather. The car/coaster can only make it around the loop if four or fewer kids are on it despite having room for 20ish which of course means longer queues. Not to mention it probably desperately needs maintenance. Then there’s the large bloke who “runs” the trampolines. By run, I mean he sits there motionless staring at his phone whilst larger kids jump on every trampoline knocking the smaller kids out the way. All the while it says no jumping between trampolines. He is beyond useless. It is supposed to be £8 for unlimited rides. Despite 25% of them not working they still charged me £7. This place deserves to go out of business.
Colin B — Google review
Great fun for a six, five and one year old. The lads running it were kind. Good value if you buy the wrist band. Only four rides but for young children, it whiled away a couple of happy hours running from one to another.
Hannah — Google review
The lido can get very busy being on the seafront but with great views. The staff are always very friendly and accommodating to us when we go. Inside the lido there are rides for smaller children but do have trampolines and a inflatable slide the older kids can use. The amusements are dated but I think that adds to the feel and can bring back memories from you being a child again. With a rock shop attached and other local shops it's a must see when coming to Worthing.
Honest R — Google review
Lido in Worthing is a cult place. It was built as a promenade in 1925. In 1957, a swimming pool was added, and the seaside structure became known as Lido. Currently listed as a Grade II monument, the facility is used as a family entertainment center and arcade, but there are plans for its redevelopment. Perhaps it will return to its previous function as a public swimming pool? Either way, it certainly needs refurbishment.
MIRELA G — Google review
Been visiting here as a resident with my children and now grandchildren. Went this June and was so very disappointed. Only 3 rides, as always bouncy slide not inflated due to breeze! Still charged £8 for a wristband though. It's on the seafront for goodness sake. In a state of tatty disrepair. We used to love it here, but the sad state of it, plus many Worthing carparks closed and many roads also closed, I'll probably try Littlehampton or Bognor next time. Harbour park or Hotham park much more pleasant.
Leigh — Google review
I wouldn't ever suggest this as a destination itself, but if you are on Worthing seafront anyway and have small children with you, they will definitely enjoy the rides and bouncy slides. Prices seem reasonable, there's an arcade, proper ice cream and what I assume is intended to be a highly authentic 1970s themed cafe.

Additionally, the studio hosts slime making parties in the UV rooms, which are perfect for kids aged 8-9. It's also a great place to hang out with friends while getting creative.
We had our daughter’s 7th birthday party at art-ful and were blown away! The kids did slime making in the UV room with the help of Nina and Eva who were amazing hosts. After the slime, we did food (which you bring yourself) and the set up was really easy. The party finished with music, kareoke and party games. What more could you want?! The space is fantastic - so much fun and creativity. Both the kids and the adults loved it. For a party of 10 (we had 11), there’s loads of space as there’s two rooms and only one is used at a time. We were all made to feel welcome by Nina and Eva who were brilliant hosts. The main thing is the kids absolutely LOVED it! Total enjoyment from start to finish. This was the perfect party so do not hesitate to book!

Visitors can enjoy peaceful walks or mountain bike rides through forests, meadows, and farmland with stunning vistas of Lancing College and the Adur Valley.
A lovely Nature Reserve in the edge of the South Downs National Park. Great for walks with views to Brighton, Isle of Wight, Cissbury Ring & out towards Hassocks and the Weald. Popular with dog owners, walkers and people enjoying sunrises or sunsets, bird song, butterflies, wild flowers. No charges & no facilities, nature at its best.

Lancing Ring has a good-sized car park So, it's not usually a problem to park from the car park you can walk in several directions . The ring has a dew pond and woods, unfunfortunately the woods have been hit by Ash die back so not at there best but still lovely. Would not be suitable for wheelchair users, but perfect for child adventures and the more adventurous walker on to the South downs.

A thoroughly popular route across the South Downs with a car park nestled at the top, this is a gateway to a very decent trail that sprawls along the downs from East to West. There's plenty of room for all, but if you're after a picnic spot I'd try somewhere else as it's a dog walkers paradise, and a bikers dream with rapid access to Shoreham and Worthing via the trails. The car park is in rather poor shape though with split and uneven concrete, making getting to the few spaces there are a bit of a challenge.

Playground
Nestled east of the pier towards Lancing, Gull Island Playground is a delightful destination for families seeking fun in the sun. This charming playground boasts well-maintained equipment and ample soft sand, making it an ideal spot for younger children to play both independently and together. The atmosphere is always vibrant, with plenty of space for activities like football on the adjacent field.
A great place for younger children. They seem to play well together or on their own in the sand and all the well built and we'll maintained equipment. Lots of soft sand and rubber flooring on some of the equipment. No seats for parents/ grandparents in the play area but some benches outside and on the grass banks. Family cafe / restaurant very close serving good morning and lunch time food and drink. Toilets available. There are no distractions such as you shops/ice creams etc. Lots of happy children and no costs except for food and drink if needed.

It's a decent playground. Fairly small. There weren't any swings attached to the frame when we were there (late May 2025)

Gull Island Playground in Worthing is a fantastic spot for young children, with its pirate-themed ship, sandy base, and safe, engaging environment. Conveniently located by the beach and Coast Café, it’s perfect for a fun family day out.

My daughter grew up in this park. Great for all ages, including crawling babies. It feels extremely summery all year round thanks to the massive sandy areas. There's always a great atmosphere in the park and the park is surrounded by great facilities, like the Café Coast, the Splashpoint centre or the water pad. Plenty of parking spaces and right next to the sea. Massive field to play football or other activities besides the park too.
Glo C — Google review
Nice little sandy park near the sea side. Lots of things for the children to so and next to the splash pad and cafe. Always busy and always clean and tidy.
Gareth B — Google review
Nice little sand pit. If it gets windy sand can get in your eyes 😂 so be sure to bring a pair of shades when it's dry and sunny.

First time here and I found it to be an excellent bowls club. Lots of indoor space for bowling with a full sized outdoor bowls green. The club appeared to be well run with a well stocked bar and a small, but adequate, kitchen.

Nestled east of the pier, the Rocks Water Fountain is a delightful gem in Worthing that promises fun for all ages. This charming spot features water spraying from vents nestled among rocks, creating an inviting atmosphere for families and children to enjoy. While some visitors have noted that they haven't seen it in action during their visits, those who have experienced its playful sprays rave about the joy it brings.
Spray comes out of vents, on the floor, in between the rocks. My girls had a great time. Another good place to get wet is the water play by the Splash Point Leisure Centre. @playgroundadventures

Park
Nature & Parks
Brooklands Pleasure Park is a 45-acre green space that offers various amenities for visitors. These include a lake, cafe, go-kart track, accessible playground and a mini train. Additionally, the old golf course has been converted into a dog walking area with ample space for dogs to run around safely. Workers are currently expanding this area by laying paths which will increase the size of the park significantly. The new cafe is highly anticipated by visitors.
When I stopped at Lancing for a few days I just had to visit this park. It's a nice place that seems to have something for everyone. Plenty of footpaths to walk along, a mixture of open and wooded areas, kids play areas, and a lovely body of water full of different kinds of water loving birds. It was nice to have a walk around, then take a break on one of the many benches around the place. With it being close to the coast and along the edge of Lancing, it was easy to get to too.

Cafe is always busy and limited seats. Service sometimes a little cool. Food and drink are decent. Wide selection. Pond is decent size to walk around there's different breeds of ducks and 2 swans. A little overrun by seagulls. Can't comment on playground area. But always see families and dog walkers. Cafe is dog friendly
Adele R — Google review
Lovely park with great views of the lake and surrounding area. Was very busy when we went with the grandchildren on a sunny day in March. Had to queue for over half an hour to buy three ice creams in the cafe!
Lucy S — Google review
One of the best 'just pop in for a sausage sandwich' I've had. And the caramel latte was top notch (you can always tell when it's cheap syrup, and this wasn't). Popped in while my bike was having an MoT nearby, glad I did 👍.
Barrie T — Google review
My first time going since they pumped some money into it I have to say it's a great transformation even though there are still some bits that require attention. The playground is now a great safe place to take children of various ages and abilities. It's a nice open plan space for children to run around safely. There is a designated trace for bikes which is great if you're teaching your little one how to ride. The walk around the lake is very nice a peaceful. The cafe is still under construction which meant there were no toilets available which is why we left in the end. Hopefully this will be addressd soon. Over all a great morning out and well worth a visit.

Pleasant place to walk for all the family.

The old golf course at the back of Brooklands had been turned into a great dog walking area with loads of space for dogs to run freely and safely. The workers are in laying paths through this area more than doubling the size of the park. I was unsure at first, but it is looking really good. I just hope dog walkers are not forgotten. Looking forward to the new cafe.
John H — Google review
Brooklands used to be amazing, the little train, play area, go karts and paddling pool. But it's all gone and has been for a while. What is left is an empty shell of a place. The lake is lovely, feeding the ducks is good fun. The park is terrible, every time we go more and more things get taken and not replaced. The grass is wild all over the place so you must keep to the tiny path. Perfect for dog walkers, but other than that I wouldn't bother visiting until the council spend a bit of money on the poor place.

Marine Gardens is a delightful place with plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained. You can enjoy a game of pitch and putt, relax by the water feature and fountain, or watch people play bowls. The garden also offers a serene pond with fish, bird feeders, and bird tables. Additionally, there's a friendly tea room where you can grab some coffee or hot chocolate while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
I often walk my dog here... it's such a lovely tranquil place and is beautifully maintained by both the council and the Friends of Marine Gardens

Lovely park with fantastic little water garden and fountain. Great cafe, easy access to the beach. Great way to escape the hustle and bustle of town.

Great place for a stroll with the family in all weathers. Today was a particularly beautiful start to the new year. Nice smooth surface for buggies scooters bikes roller skates etc. Beach play area for kids and several cafes close by.
Stuart B — Google review
I love this little oasis on the sea front but I think the pitch and putt has gone which would be a shame. The cafe is fab - lovely food and great coffee but it does get busy so you may need to book if eating. It's just a nice place to sit and watch the world go by for a bit
Carol F — Google review
A lovely park with a lily and fish pond, lawn bowls and cafe. Areas to sit and play and a lavender walk that was buzzing with bees. Easy parking in nearby streets.
Nigel B — Google review
It's nice to see maintenance going into Worthing green areas, with actual koi carp in the fountain pond here it's such a beautiful tranquil place to sit, I think we need more nature and information plaques telling more about the flora and history of these places though that would be brilliant
Rosie G — Google review
An absolute gem of a place. The volunteers who look after the gardens do a magnificent job and should be more widely recognised. The cafe serves delicious food and the staff are always pleasant.
Howard T — Google review
