A dream come true passing through the Fonseranes. Absolutely a marvel and one of the best parts of the Canal du Midi. It takes about 45 minutes to pass through with timed entry in the morning and afternoon depending on direction.

Beautiful gardens, fountains, sculptures. Quite hilly though! Gardens very well kept and paths tidy and litter free. Great place to wander around for an hour or so. (Note that my wife lay down for a nap on one of the benches for 20 minutes or so and later discovered many insect bites so beware!)

I am not into bullfighting so this is more of a review of the Arènes de Béziers from a historical and cultural point of view. For residents, August can be a boon or a bane as it the month of the feria when hordes of tourists descend on the city to watch bullfighting or simply take part in the merrymaking. True, the feria brings in revenue to businesses but for those who live near the arena, the noise level can be bothersome. There are several nice restaurants directly facing the arena, a protected heritage site completed in 1901 by architects Carlier, father and son. They mixed bricks, cut stone and reinforced cement. The arena hosts not only (bullfighting activities, introduced in the south of France in the 19th century) but also concerts.

Good open air venue for music, shows and food/beverage festivals (NB bullfights are a rarity now, never seen one). You need tickets for most gigs. Seats near the front are quite close together, but you get the best views. Usually hosts a free orchestra event with fireworks during the Béziers feria.

Fantastic fun filled family experience! The owner/staff were very knowledgable and friendly and our family of 4 (2 adults, 8 year old and 5 year old) absolutely loved it. They also spoke very good English & the equipment was in good condition & felt very safe!

The people who run Béziers Aventure we extremely thorough in their briefings and preparations, they are super friendly and were very quick to assess the different needs and abilities of the children and to provide the right level of challenge to the children so that they enjoyed the experience and had fun. Excellent way to spend a few hours outside, under the trees and exercise at the same time. Some of the trails are quite physical but there are some adapted to young children (3y), provided they accept to put the security outfit on and they understand how to use the life line. This church was rebuilt on the site of the 1209 massacre. If you're in Beziers don't miss going there. I have visited many churches and cathedrals in Europe and the UK but Madeleine is one of the most atmospheric and moving I've experienced. I spent a lot of time there.

Absolutely fascinating to see the opulence and style of a grand mansion of old. The exhibits were equally fascinating. An ability to read and understand a little French very much helps as all the advice notices are in French. Don’t be tempted to walk past. At €3.50, it’s worth every cent.

The museum has some terracota drafts and some expressive busts by Jean Antoine Injalbert. I also really enjoyed the exposition with paintings of the vire of Beziers at different times, starting from 18th century. It is amazing to he able to see how the familiar landscape formed over centuries.
