Park
The Swiss Science Center Technorama is an expansive and airy center that offers a wide range of indoor and outdoor interactive displays with various scientific themes. Visitors can immerse themselves in the interactive exhibits, which cater to all ages, from young children to seniors. The center allows guests to touch and engage with most of the displays, providing a fantastic experience for everyone. Additionally, there are specific experiments conducted by trained staff members.
This is one of the best museums I have ever been. The ticket price is totally worth it! It is literally for everyone from 1 till 100 years, lot of fun, games, activities and learning along the way! Been there twice, and definitely will go the third time! While planning the day at the museum, plan at least 4-5 hours. You can have your backpack with you, so water and snacks is also a good idea.
Emilija A — Google review
Amazing Day In an Incredible Museum On a rare day when my children were off school (but all other schools were open) we visited Technorama and had an amazing day. There were only a few visitors, but enough to seem alive and the weather was perfect for visiting the outside area. The museum itself is so well made and organized. The number of engaging exhibits and well-done live shows/demonstrations will keep people of all ages busy all day. Special recognition goes to the restaurant staff for the freshly made food and the extremely friendly interaction during our lunch. We waited years for the children to be old enough to appreciate the museum - we won't wait so long before our next visit.
Robert M — Google review
It’s so big, hours of entertainment for the kids in all different science categories with hand on experiment exhibits. There’s also a restaurant on site, plus an outdoor area with more exhibits. We spent 3.5 hours and didn’t get to do the outside area before closing, and we weren’t super slow going through the exhibits either.
Julia L — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience , with hundreds of experiments and interactive stands over 3 floors, covers all areas of science in a very cool way! You need at least two days to cover it fully including the outdoor experience .
Kirk H — Google review
Very fun place to explore but need time is very imformative if we really read and study what is all these. Kids and adult both can have fun. High recommend full day here if you like science. Is very worth it
Raycher L — Google review
Just wow. No chance you will check every single thing there one day. If you and your your family are tech freaks, take directly two tickets and plan two days :D It's made for everybody to understand the physics and I had a lot of fun. Just take somebody, girlfriend, boyfriend wife, husband, children or whole family and visit it. It's more than worth
Samuel F — Google review
I love this museum. The kids enjoy it as well. The only two downsides are: it is loud and expensive. You can wear headphones against the noise and use an SBB voucher if you have a Swisspass. You should bring your own food. There is a nice picnic area. You can spend 5 hours here easily. The museum is best for kids between 6 to 14. Plan well for the labs and bring 2 CHF or 2 EUR for a fun game at the door to the outside.
Lilith U — Google review
Great place to introduce kids and adults to science. Many different stations set up for kids to see and understand the effects of science in life. 1 day is not enough to see and try out everything.

Nature & Parks
Zoo
Wildpark Bruderhaus Winterthur is a nature park and breeding center situated on the Eschenburg hill in the southern part of Winterthur, Switzerland. Established in 1890, it is one of the country's oldest natural parks and home to various European species such as bison, wolves, lynxes, wild boars, fallow deer, and red deer. The park offers forest trails for leisurely walks amidst picturesque surroundings.
a beautiful place for relaxation, walking and full of nature... and there is a children's park. Great for the weekend
Jelena K — Google review
Amazing wild park with dear, wolf, bosons and other animals you really see. There is no entry and very nice restaurant that serves home made pasta. Amazing hiking trails
Shreeya N — Google review
It’s the perfect place to come with a family , and spend a good moment, it’s free .. you only pay the parking . So great !
Ludo S — Google review
Wonderful, natural animal park. Beautifully laid out, partly in the forest. The entire animal park can be visited via a circular route. The park is well maintained, clean and the information (in German) about the animals and the park is very well presented. A playground next to the restaurant invites children to play. With a bit of luck you will see the wolves.
Tobias M — Google review
Free entry. Great for families, groups, singles, couples and everyone who loves nature and animals. The park can be reached by car, bus or various nice walking tracks. Thanks to everyone for maintaining the park. Great work 👍
Stefan W — Google review
Look, the Wildpark Bruderhaus is another example where animals are kept behind fences. Yes. But do they have ample space? Seemingly so. Nevertheless, what makes the Wildpark so special for us are different things. 1. It is 14 minutes away from the Winterthur train station by public transport. Talk about cool and smooth. 2. It is basically built into/surrounded by a forest where you can just walk and enjoy being in nature. Again, so close to the train station? How cool. 3. A decent restaurant to get a good bite. We write about it in a separate review more in detail, but also a nice option. 4. Some not-so-commonly seen (and hard-to-see) animals. So, look, for a family outing frankly it's perfect. 5/5
Daniel R — Google review
Easy to access with the bus 12 on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday. Free entrance. Little hidden gem with wold, lynx, wissent( European buffalo) deer, wildboar, perzewaslki horse, mufflon... There is an awesome playground, restaurant, and barbecue spot. It's nice to stroll around read all the interesting information about the animal or plants or check out the minishort "Windelwanderweg". Right now Sonderausstellung about " Gefährliche Tiere".
Alena P — Google review
Very nice place to spend the day with the family and children. Unfortunately we did not see the lynx this time. The wolf was also capricious, but we go there every time a huge pleasure. The children love the playground and the restaurant is a bit expensive but delicious.

Specialty Museums
The Oskar Reinhart Collection Am Römerholz, located in Winterthur, Switzerland, is a prestigious art museum housed in a beautiful villa. It was established by Oskar Reinhart and features an extensive collection of fine art, including works by renowned artists such as Renoir, Van Gogh, and Cézanne. The museum showcases French Impressionism and its predecessors, as well as German, Austrian, and Swiss art.
Very good art museum with Impressionist artists, like Monet and Manet.
Eric G — Google review
The grandeur of Am Römerholz for me is founded in it's simplicity, volume and light! Such a beautiful manor house with the garden mirroring the simplicity and volume. A private collection of Manet, Renoir, van Gogh, Picasso and Rembrandt . . Mind blowing!
Melanie C — Google review
Beautiful museum with many French painters. I’d say it’s one of the best art museums you can find in Switzerland. The setting of it is beautiful with a marvellous park, adjoining a forest. It’s when successful industrialists still offered something to the public. The two stars missing is due to the painstakingly exact and exacting staff. You got corrected for every move in the museum: you have to carry the coat one way that is approved by the Swiss federation! And mind you that even the smallest bags must be put in a locker. In the future they’ll do body scans when you leave the building. Furthermore the staff is really only there to supervise, don’t ask anything - the barely know where the exit is. Overall bad. But the beauty of the museum compensated more than enough. And if it is sunny sit in the garden and have a snack or drink at the restaurant - you can find it on your own ;-)
Martin — Google review
A few of the masters - Van Gogh, Monet, Pissarro and Dutch 17th century pieces make this Kunst Museum worth visiting. Galleries full of “installation art” remind one that traditional, complex 2D artworks, full of technique and skill are no longer being produced.
Timothy E — Google review
Amazing place, bigger than it looks, a fantastic art collection with a great cafe and nice gardens. Small selection of walks nearby.
James M — Google review
I did not expect to find such a lovely collection. Impressionists, Goya, Lucas Cranach, etc., etc., etc. Pleasant surprise! Highly recommend!
Nataliya P — Google review
It is an amazing place. We decide for a walk to head the museum. I need to do some search about sir reihnhart. His place is impressive. Originally a maison de maître on the hill, extensions to welcome the growing collection has been added making the whole piece an huge domain with a park, terrace, apple tree filled with few artwork as well outdoor. The collection is huge with a lot of masterpieces from the main artist from rebirth to impressionist. I recommend it. We made it on a free ticket day. But after the visit you must donate for the pleasure you took and for the preservasion.
Thomas S — Google review
The collection is not very large, but very thoughtfully selected. Amazing examples of French art of 19 century. Very nice park and beautiful views. The museum provides audio guides for children, but only in German.

We were very pleasantly surprised by how modern the Naturmuseum of Winterthur was. It had a lot of interactive exhibitions, but also with quite a bit of variety in terms of the mode of interaction, through sounds, smell, touch, magnifying items, etc. We really enjoyed it, not just our son. And for the smaller children there is also a special room with lots of games, toys and things to try out and make. This added to the whole value that the museum provided for us, with our 3-year-old son. Oh, and unlike what we experienced a few times in Basel - unfortunately -, all staff members were really friendly!! 5/5, especially for families
Daniel R — Google review
A good museum and a nice place to spend a time with kid. I recommend to viisit it often, during different exhibitions. It turned out that even an exhibition of stones was so interesting for kid!
Alex B — Google review
The museum is just amazing. The staff is incredibly welcoming. I strongly recommend it to anybody visiting Winterthur 💜🚩

The kids playing room is awesome and always staffed with a lovely person. Accessible with the standard ticket for an adult (CHF 5) and provides hours of fun from games and books to crawling a tunnel and crafting animal paper masks.

Rosengarten is a picturesque outdoor destination in Winterthur, Switzerland. Situated on Heilberg, this garden offers a serene environment for families to explore. Originally owned by the Reinhart family, it was acquired by the city in 1961 and transformed into a public space in 1964 to commemorate the city's 700th anniversary. The well-maintained garden provides a peaceful retreat with stunning views of Winterthur.
Very nice park in the center of Winterthur with a beautiful view over the city and its surroundings. Specially recommendable during spring and summer when the flowers are blooming!
Christoph — Google review
Just a short walk up a hill slope from Archhöfe Mall, it has a decent view of the city. Preferably, do come during spring / summer if you want to see the roses. Winter is bare, cold, rainy and windy. You can hear the gusts of wind whistling through the leafless trees.
Kristopher K — Google review
Gr8 place. If your stay in winterthur in flowering season/ August September, then definitely give a visit! You so many roses of different colours. Also the city views is nice from the garden.

SKILLS PARK offers a range of activities for both kids and adults at reasonable prices. Children aged three and older can enjoy various attractions like trampolines, indoor soccer, skate park, and more. The facility also features an in-house restaurant serving delicious food. Visitors recommend bringing socks with grips to avoid slipping on the surfaces. The park is highly recommended for a fun day out with the family, offering physical activity stations and friendly staff.
Wonderful place to spend active day with kids! You can either sit with your cup of coffee or jump together. A lot of space, fun and tricks! We enjoyed the place and recommend as “must” with your 5-15… year olds. Price was affordable (ticket for all day) and food was enjoyable for kids.
Līga Z — Google review
A great park for various activities. Park has huge step ups and the bowl is awesome. Airbag is awesome for testing tricks. However, there is damn too much scooter kids ruining the experience, I think it would be better to allocate specific hours for different types of sports like BMX, scooter, roller and so on.

How to start... This place Is AWESOME! There are a lot of attractions: crossfit open Gym, Kids Gym, athletics, Rings, football, skate park, long Jump with air mattress, run track, bar, waiting room. Really Highly recommended.
Antonio C — Google review
Amazing location to spend a whole day with your kids. They have various physical activity stations such as trampoline park, skate park, gymnastics station etc. Inhouse restaurant available too. The food was outstandingly yummy. My kids loved the place and we'll definitely come back again.
Okan B — Google review
A very reasonable price of entry for everyone who can utilize more than one aspect of the facility. I went there with the kids today and was somewhat surprised at their prices: kids of three and older pay 15 francs, adults participating pay 20 francs and adults just supervising pay 3 francs, but they receive a voucher for the bistro for 3 francs. It was quite expensive for the activities we could participate in. My kids were old enough to go on the trampoline and could have joined the indoor soccer. But they were still too small for the roller skate parcour, and the climbing facility as well as the BMX ramp.

Hegi Castle is a historical complex that dates back to the 13th century and offers visitors a museum, recreated period garden, and a restaurant. Once a moated castle serving as the tranquil residence of noble families for centuries, it now welcomes guests for museum tours. The castle tavern provides an unexpected oasis near the city where visitors can enjoy drinks under the shade of old trees.
Nice place to visit, also for cultural events & the gardens in the back.

Playground

Wunderland is an indoor playground that caters to families in various weather conditions. It offers a pleasant experience for both kids and adults, with ample seating near play areas and a focus on cleanliness. While the game area may be considered somewhat lacking, the outdoor go-kart track adds to the fun. Accessible by public transportation, it provides convenience for families with young children.
It’s the bigger park for kids in Winthertur; very easy go by bus have a lot of snacks to buy , and I saw a lot of people making picknick also . Not sure if ia allowed but I not saw this flags that normally have in all parks that is not allowed bring food . My kid have a lot of fun we pass a very good afternoon there . I recommend . They have during the week discount for cultur leg so me and my daughter we pay less than 13 francs both to get in .
Lu T — Google review
I recently visited Wunderland and, unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. The place was incredibly overcrowded, making it difficult to navigate or enjoy any of the attractions. It seemed like they had allowed way more people in than the venue could handle comfortably. Finding a place to sit down and relax was nearly impossible, as most seating areas were occupied. This lack of adequate seating made the visit quite uncomfortable, especially for those who needed a break from standing or walking around. Overall, I was disappointed with my visit to Wunderland and hope they address these issues to improve the experience for future visitors.
Argon — Google review
Wunderland is currently top 5 of our Indoorplayground list. As we are exploring all of the bigger Indoorplaygrounds around Zurich, this was next after have been at Piratolino the last time we visited Winterthur. As we do all our trips with public transportation and twin buggy I am looking & judging my customer & kids experience from this point of view. Getting to Winterthur by train is not a problem, then a bus takes you almost right to the front door (5’ walk down the street). The Wunderland is located in a big complex and a big elevator takes you to the upper level to the entry. As we visited the site during the week (Tuesday) the huge playground was almost empty in the morning, but later some smaller Birthday groups came to celebrate and have fun. The overall impression was great: + looked clean and modern, + spacious so that even with lots some groups the site doesn’t look crowded. + from bouncing castle, vulcano climb & slide, bike parcours, small bumper car, and and so much more to explore. The kids had such fun and were not bored even after a whole day being indoors. + the entry fee is ok even with a 5 CHF charge on the parent + food was also good with professional equipment for pizza 🍕 etc. + toilets where ok and clean (but it was not full & busy so I can’t say what the weekend looks like) - as with all of the bigger Indoorplaygrounds the maintenance of the play stations could be better (upper floor shooting and lab equipment have not all worked well) I also have to mention that the staff who took entry fee and served the food, were friendly and had a smile which felt nice (after had some other experiences in other places with stressed and passive aggressive behavior). This one is now definitely on our “to return soon” list. (I will update if experience differ from above).
Inga J — Google review
We loved it! Very friendly staff, great choice of food, also healthy options (pasta, smoothies, toast etc) are very much appreciated, great attractions. Clean. Better in less busy time. Unfortunatelly parking is very limited.
Regina S — Google review
Wonderful place to spend your day with your child or children on a rainy, windy or cold day. The entry prices are very acceptable and there are games for all ages. The hall is big, clean and relatively modern. Even the food is freshly made and available for relatively good prices.
Sami A — Google review
Wonderland's indoor playground has significantly improved following the recent renovations, addressing the maintenance and safety issues I had previously noted. The facility is now safer, with all play areas meeting proper standards, and the non-functional elements, like the air pistols, are now in good working order. However, I do wish that the renovation period had also been used to upgrade the ventilation system in the toilets, where unpleasant odors persist, especially from used diapers. The new section with interactive computer games adds a modern touch, but I would have preferred more non-electronic, skill-based activities to encourage varied play experiences.
Etienne R — Google review
Amusement park right for Kinder here at WINTERTUH CH . RIGHT FOR KEDS UNDER 12 YEAR
Estevez F — Google review
As far as these indoor playground places go, this is one of the better ones. The food is better, there's more for toddlers and babies than some others and I like that you can sit at tables near where the kids play. Sure, weekends will be busy, but that's par for the course. It also feels new and clean. I agree that the game area could have some more stuff in it though, it's quite empty there right now. The gocart track outside looks really fun but it wasn't open at the time of me writing this. Price is about the same as all of them.

If you're looking for a fun-filled escape from the unpredictable weather, look no further than Piratolino Children's Paradise. This indoor playground is a treasure trove of activities that cater to every child's interests, featuring climbing structures, slides, and even driving tracks. It's an ideal spot for kids of all ages, including little ones with a dedicated baby area. Many visitors have enjoyed their time here during quieter weekday mornings when they had the space almost to themselves.
Very pleasant stuff. Taste food and coffee. Kids are very happy to play here. Not overcrowded even on Saturday.

My children had a great time! It has a large ball park, car track, mats, and a giant slide... Recomendado 💯 x 💯! 👏🥳🥰🇨🇭
Delioma N — Google review
A good place for kids to play, even the smallest of them as there is a section for babies too, We visited during the work week in the morning and there was just one other person with two kids so it was perfect! The whole playground just for us and a lot of options to choose from. I'd go here again.
Iva B — Google review
When I saw all the bad reviews I was worried. But I think it's a really nice playground. It's a bit small but there's a lot of things to do. Yes some things aren't free to play but it's not a problem. The food was really good too! Overall the kids loved so it's all that matters.
Kelly V — Google review
It is very crowded. No supervision whatsoever and it's kinda expensive. Whereas in other places, bring in food is allowed, the already higher prices in Piratolino add up with the expensive food to buy there. Since tables are few, parents hoard them and do not understand that, once they're playing with their offspring, they need to reshape them again. The place can currently take a maximum of 100 people (during Corona measures) but has only about 15 to 20 tables, which doesn't help the hoarding mentality since staff oversight seems to be simply non-existing. However, all be fair, the place is a fun place. There are many attractions for smaller and bigger kids and they can sweat off all excessive energy left there. They support snacks like fresh fruit and even a free syrup for the kids if asked nicely. Overall: if the place was larger (in m2) and brighter (the labyrinth is very dark, although, maybe by design), it would be way more attractive (to me, that is). As it is, I most likely will not return to it though.

We went there on a summer hot day hoping that we could cool down - but it’s extremely hot here!! Only a few fans and it’s def not enough. I suspect it’s even warmer than outside…but my kid enjoyed it!!
Eriko L — Google review
Activities were good but the space is a bit smaller than other places in the area. When we came in the afternoon, we were shocked by the lack of supervision. For example, on the trampolines were multiple kids on one field or guys congregating at the bottom of the yellow slides. There was no staff walking around addressing these issues.

Gorgeous place for a time out, a meet-up with friends, for a barbecue in summer, for a swim, for jogging /running, for walking, for enjoying the beauty of nature, soaking up the sun. Simply beautiful and wonderful place and rather close to the city centre.
Glam S — Google review
A quiet and calm place only 15 mins from the city. There are benches around the ponds, so you can have a place to sit. There are 3 ponds in the area that are pretty much the same looking. Shallow and covered with algae. You can also see plenty of fish there.

Lovely lake, beautiful scenery and a breath of fresh air in the city. Although the small timber roof is a bit of a downgrade in comparison to the forest hut they had before.

Great place there are some BBQ spots there and some cafe's and a nice playground.
Grace P — Google review
Nice and lively park area, there are benches and trees to rest, open spaces to play and a children's playground. Also table tennis table at the nearby school houses. And of course the Eulach 'river' . In short, a great place to spent time and relax!
Elovyn — Google review
Sweet little.park.at the edge of the town. A lovely little stream and barbecue places. A restaurant for an ice cream, a meal or a cold beverage. Easy access with public transport.
Marc B — Google review
Big open space with two BBQ spots, big playground a couple of cafe's. As we live practically next to this park we visit it frequently there is a lot of open space where the kids can spend a lot of time playing around. There are a few small sloped area's where the kids love to sledge in winter. It can get quite crowded in the weekends especially when the weather is nice. On hot days the small stream, the Eulach is a good option to cool down.

Nice park to hang out with friends and family. Had places for BBQ. Nice playground for kids. Also not too busy even on sunny Weekends.
Will K — Google review
Lot of place outside to play with kids. The under-roof facility in the building next to the park is also great and offers a lot of activities.
Michał G — Google review
A lot of breathing space with monkey jungle gym and cycling paths making it the ideal place for playing and other outdoor activities. It's near to the Oberwinterthur train station and 14 Bus line ('Hegifeld'). The area is littered with ramps for skateboarders and bike freestylers for training their latest tricks. You feel as though you can breathe again when you're there even when a lot of families take up residence to watch their kiddos at the playground. I love the days when the sun is out and the light beautifully dapples the ground while stretching its fingers the more it nears the time for sunset. There's a couple of bistros and cafes, a library and cycle shop close by, should you find yourself bored or hungry. Please consider showing some love by 'liking' if you found my review helpful.

Very nice park area that is close to the city center. People love to hang out here when the weather is nice. It is in between museums and also have a children playground. To hang out with friends or just for a simple walk, City Park is a perfect place.
Ahmet U — Google review
Beautiful little place, really worth it a visit. It has an interesting, rustic feeling to it, and it easily transpires that people love it; from place to place couples holding hands, families setting up a picknick, children playing, friends laughing, a really cosy, heartwarming atmosphere. Finally people allowed to eat out, slightly crowded tables, construction sites, dark clouds gathering, a few raindrops here and there, the sun coming out again... Relax, breath in, breath out, worry for a little while, relax, repeat for a thousand times, and once again... Life instantiated. Life specified.
Liviu V — Google review
Playground is suitable for families with kids in young ages. It suits my daughters who is 15yrs old. The park is not recommendedrecommended for kids in the early mornings as then a lot of alcohol bottles and beer cans lay around. Must be cleaned from the city council.
Dominik K — Google review
Very nice looking park close to the city center. Kids and dogs may be let running free (has a playground, too). Does have a couple of "usual groups", but they just stay to themselves, mostly.
