Beach
Outdoor Activities
Makris Gialos Beach is a picturesque sandy stretch with calm aqua waters and stunning views. It's an ideal spot for families, offering comfy lounge chairs for rent. The name translates to 'long sandy beach,' perfectly capturing its serene atmosphere. Visitors can bask in the warm Mediterranean sun or find shade under umbrellas while enjoying the beautiful surroundings.
The water is crystal clear and perfect for swimming, and the sand is soft and clean. There are plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly, making it ideal for a peaceful day at the beach, yet still lively enough to enjoy a fun day in the sun.
Nevena M — Google review
Nice sandy beach, cristal clear water and sun-beds options - cafe area with paid sun-beds or public beach area where you can use your own umbrellas. This is one of the most crowded beach but you can always find a spot. Water sports are also possible option here.
Alex R — Google review
Hands down our favourite spot of the whole holiday — honestly one of the nicest beaches I’ve ever been to! The sand is soft and lovely (though fair warning, it does get scorching hot in peak sunshine!), and the water is absolutely crystal clear. I’m usually a bit hesitant about swimming in the sea, but I felt so confident here because the water was so clear and calm — you could see everything around you. It made for such a relaxing swim. The beach itself was clean, spacious, and never felt overcrowded. There were several shaded areas available too, which is great if you don’t have your own umbrella. One of the best parts is the convenience — there are three beachside bars/restaurants right there, plus a water sports provider if you’re feeling adventurous. The clear waters also made for perfect snorkelling — we saw loads of little fish without having to go far at all.
Olivia I — Google review
A small but nice beach with crystal clear waters and fine sand hidden in a bay with a beach bar with parking nearby. It is a well-sheltered beach where you can walk peacefully when strong winds blow on the island, it is only slightly affected by waves due to the bay and the huge rocks in the water on the side of the beach
Liviu H — Google review
Beautiful beach! Long stretch of sand, plenty of spaces to lie down in peace. Sand had good fine coarseness to it and was clean. Nice couple of restaurants for a bite/Cafe if you want to save money from the sunbeds.
Jimi D — Google review
Crystal clear water, shallow and ideal for families and young children, sandy beach. Sand can get very hot, so take flip flops/shoes. Plenty of car parking at the top and the steps down are not too steep, but can be a bit sandy/slippy. Loads of sun beds and parasols to choose from at ok prices and there is a large section where you can lay towels and take umbrellas. Several public toilets and a couple of beach bars which are great for snacks and drinks - prices are quite high though. Overall a great beach and facilities.
Ben — Google review
Clean beach with little to no wasps. There’s plenty of parking and it’s easy to walk around. The water is crystal clear and not crowded at all. The service at the beach bar is a bit lacking though the staff can sometimes come across as grumpy, and the prices for food and drinks are quite high. €20 for a chicken sandwich with fries and around €8 for a beer. Soft drinks were about €3.50. Renting the sunbeds is also rather expensive. In October we paid €30 for two beds and an umbrella. So if you come often, that can add up. There’s also a very cute orange cat wandering around. He likes to lie in the shade near you, but be careful, he tends to scratch if you try to pet him!
Ferdi — Google review
This is a truly superb beach. The water is crystal clear and it is isnt a huge walk from the main road. Plenty of car parking for scooters and cars. We were only staying about a 10 minute walk from the beach and it was perfect for anyone staying at san lorenzo village or within that area. We never bothered with getting any sun loungers. Plenty of room for you to bring your umbrellas to enjoy the day. Supermarkey sells them for €20 which is a short walk. Zorbas restaurant also do takeaways to bring down. Honestly a fantastic beach.

Bodies of Water
Koutavos Lagoon in Argostoli is connected to settlements by the de Bosset bridge, offering a picturesque view of the area. Despite some human impact, the lagoon boasts a diverse ecosystem with around 500 plant species, including endemic ones. Visitors can also observe unique local wildlife such as sea turtles and ducks. It's recommended to visit in the morning for optimal turtle spotting and to enjoy the tranquil nature walks along this beautiful lagoon.
A place where you can enjoy of a peaceful walk and view depending on your time you can also maybe visit the reptile center what is located in the park.
Angela S — Google review
North part of the lagoon v.nice would give 4/5 stars. You can follow a path from the bridge on the western shore all the way to the far southern tip of the lagoon. The path turns from slabbed tiles to wide gravel, w/chair accessible, benches every few hundred metres, some lighting+rubbish bins. However the further round you go the more unloved it becomes. Finally ending in a temporary fence blocking access to a lorry park on the edge of this fragile eco environment. The jetty is long time closed which is a real shame as with some TLC this would make a spectacular viewpoint for a very different view back to Argostoli. The prevailing wind direction also means there is a solid 4ft of rubbish floating and lapping up against the shoreline.! Every bit of rubbish that enters the bay looks like it eventually ends up here.!
Richard D — Google review
Super nice spot for spotting carettas! You can see them perfectly right by the bridge. Rather go in the morning.
Nikol Č — Google review
We were quite disappointed by the state of the park around the lagoon. It was quite dirty and we had a hard time finding the way out. The boat trip on the lake was however quite pleasant.

Beach
Gradakia Beach is a favorite gem on the island of Kefalonia, located close to Lassi. It offers soft sand and crystal-clear waters, making it an absolute marvel for visitors. Accessible by car with free parking available, getting here is stress-free. The beach provides various sunbed setups at different prices and a rocky area perfect for snorkeling and observing marine life.
Nice sized beach with a bar and plenty of loungers. We brought our own umbrella and a throw and settled at the far end. The waters are beautiful. We also visited at sunset for a picnic and evening swim, they were playing some nice Balearic tunes, very relaxing
Mel B — Google review
Nice beach , we see more beautiful in the island. Pay attention set of sun beds are 12€
Elihay N — Google review
Gradakia Beach is a decent option in the Lassi area. It's a smaller beach with soft, gray sand and clear water. The beach is organized with sunbeds and a beach bar, which is convenient. The sunbeds and refreshments are priced fairly for the area. The beach offers a relaxed atmosphere, making it suitable for a quiet day. It's easy to get to by car, and there are views of the surrounding area. Overall, it's a fine place to spend some time if you're looking for a low-key beach experience.
Ioannis — Google review
It is nice, but very small...it is sandy beach and often, water isn't clear, it gets crowdy...across the beach, there is clear shallow lagoone where you can get trough the stones and enjoy the little caves, snorkeling without crowd
Aleksandra M — Google review
Such a lovely little beach. There is plenty of of parking nearby, the water is clear and shallow. Perfect for kids.
Diana C — Google review
Lovely small beach. Good for swimming and snorkelling (especially in the the next two bays with caves by Kamaroules taverna).
Will D — Google review
Rocks, cliffs, no beach, no sand. Not a beach. Down a steep hill to get to, then you realise there's no beach and have to walk back up. There is a road you can drive down there on. No toilet, no cafe, nothing good there. Unless you like to sit on rock. Not good if you're looking for a beach.
Richard B — Google review
Truly breathtaking. I like sandy beaches so this is not exactly for me, but you have to see this beauty.

6White Rocks Beach

Beach
White Rocks Beach is a secluded paradise with turquoise waters and pristine white sand, surrounded by towering limestone cliffs. Accessible only by boat or a challenging swim from Minies/Spasmata beach, it offers stunning views and a serene atmosphere. However, the journey can be treacherous for inexperienced swimmers due to choppy waters and strong currents. The road leading to the beach is in poor condition, making access by car difficult and not recommended.
Most stunning beach in my opinion. Definitely recommend going there when tourist hours are over (between 13:00 - 16:00 is perfect time to go if you like an almost empty beach). Clear water and many fish to see.
Justin V — Google review
The water is turquoise and clear( but a little bit cloudy near the shore because of limestone rock). The view from the boat on this beach is amazing. We spend there about 3 hours: dove from the yacht, swam, had lunch with a wonderful view from the boat and had a great time. There an airport nearby so you can watching on plane that take off More about adventures on @born_to_lovve
Elena * — Google review
Beautiful beach with a dramatic cliff and white sand/pebbles with crystal clear water. Only accessible by boat.
Diederik D — Google review
Went there with a pedal boat rented from WetNWild Watersports on Spasmata Beach. The journey took us around 20 minutes to get there. The most beautiful beach we've seen in our lives, definitely recommended.
Adam H — Google review
Lovely beach although a bit gravelly/shingle. Best go in the afternoon when it’s quieter.
Kevin B — Google review
The most picturesque beach in Kefalonia! We are lucky to be there alone ☀️
Elena Z — Google review
Magnificent one. Only accesible from the water, but pretty close to Platis Gialos. Went there with SUP board. But be carefull and predict the weather. It might get pretty windy with big waves. Definetely worth a visit.
Dejan I — Google review
White Rock Beach on Kefalonia is a breathtaking must-see, best experienced when the sea is calm for paddling and exploring by canoe or SUP. This stunning location dazzles with its dramatic rock formations and incredible views, creating a truly memorable setting for visitors. When the sea is calm, it’s a prime spot for canoeing and stand-up paddling, revealing hidden beauty along the coastline—however, conditions can be dangerously challenging and not recommended on wavy days, so always prioritize safety. The mix of unique landscape and adventure is what makes White Rock Beach a ‘must visit’ on Kefalonia.

Boat rental service
Lagoon Activities in Argostoli offers a variety of boat rental services for tourists looking to explore the area. From the harbour, visitors can choose to take a ferry to Lixouri or opt for a day trip on one of the vessels operated by Enalios Cruises. These day trips include options like a naturist cruise and depart from Argostoli. Another option is to charter a private tour with Kefalonia Yachts.
We had a great time on the pedal boats going out across the lagoon and seeing the De Bosset Bridge from a new angle. We went twice in two days after our son enjoyed it so much and wanted to see the local sea turtle caretta-caretta. It can be hard pedalling against the wind if it picks up so save some energy for the return trip.
Jacob H — Google review
Very peaceful electric cruise around the lagoon. €40 for an electric boat, could probably seat 5 comfortably. €30 for a pedal which has 4 seats. Both 45minutes which is plenty. Seems a popular stop and pretty well run, the boats were going out as quickly as they came back in. We spotted a couple of turtles but would say we spotted just as many from the bridge and quayside. Was very nice for a different perspective.
Josh P — Google review
Absolutely amazing experience and the people running the whole thing are simply fantastic. Very kind and friendly, giving you great instructions and tips, both about how to steer the boat but also how to locate the turtles. Aim for early hours when it’s not very windy and you can clearly see below the boat. 100% recommend, would definitely visit again.
Eva R — Google review
This is one of the best things my partner and I done in kefalonia! The workers are so friendly and helped us with any questions we had, it was cash only as the card machine had gone down but luckily we had some euros. I would recommend having some euros incase this happens again so then you dont have to wait around for it to work or go and find a way to get money out. My partner and I got an electric boat which was only 10 euros more (around 40 euros for the electric boats) We managed to see a couple small turtles and two big sea turtles swimming below us! It was absolutely amazing and really made our day! The boat has shade which is essential in the heat! They also handed us free cold water bottles for when you're on the boats which was so nice! Definitely recommend and will be back to do it again!
Emily W — Google review
We hired an electric boat and it was €40 for 45 minutes. Very good fun. The guy explained where you could and couldn't go and off we went!
Jennifer M — Google review
It was a very nice boattrip with sight on the mountains and city. The boat have shadow. It is very calm on the water. And there are seaturtles near the shoreline, but you have to see closely. Float in the water at 10:00-11:00 hours.
Stefan Z — Google review
We came by cruise ship and it was a 25 minute leisurely walk from the terminal. We hired an electric boat for 45 mins which was €40. Nice gentle ride around, and we did spot turtles.
Classic W — Google review
Very enjoyable pedal boat trip. The staff provided us with cold water. The sun was too strong however. I think it would be more enjoyable on the afternoon

Holiday apartment rental
Nestled just a short drive from Argostoli, Via Lassi is a true treasure on the island of Kefalonia. This stunning resort area boasts beautiful beaches and breathtaking coastal views, making it an ideal getaway for travelers seeking both relaxation and adventure. The accommodations range from luxurious hotels to budget-friendly apartments, ensuring that every visitor finds their perfect stay.
We've just returned from a totally perfect week at Via Lassi. The bungalows are perfectly formed, modern inside and with great storage and facilities including gorgeous beach towels, great outdoor seating options and a smart TV (for a couple of the rainier days!) Location wise, Lassi is just amazing with some incredible beaches nearby all within walking distance (Gradakia, Platis Gialos and the small but sweet Paliostafida) It's perfect proximity to the airport, Argostoli and the bars and restaurants of Lassi itself (Kefalos + Nefeli faves of ours) As it's on the SW side of Kefalonia, it also gets gorgeous evening sun / sunsets which are so great to enjoy from the private jetty with diving pontoon Via Lassi gives you access too. Eleni was amazing as a host, super communicative and friendly too. It was great to have a cleaning service halfway through the trip too and sheets / towels changed. Overall, an absolutely beautiful spot to enjoy Kefalonia from and we hope to be back soon! x

Experiencing Kefalonia's Gem: Where Swiss Quality Meets Greek Hospitality. From the moment of our arrival at Via Lassi in Kefalonia, we knew we had found a true gem. Our host, Eleni, greeted us with open arms and a warm smile, making us feel right at home. Her hospitality was remarkable, and she was genuinely friendly throughout our stay. The villa itself is a marvel, built to the highest standard - it was akin to Swiss quality, where every detail is accounted for and nothing is left to chance. Every nook and cranny of this modern villa radiated class and elegance, striking a perfect balance of comfort and style. It was spotless, superbly maintained, and everything looked as good as new. The bed was especially impressive - large and extremely comfortable, promising a great night's sleep after a day of exploring. Perhaps the most breathtaking feature of this villa is its unrivaled location. Boasting the best spot for watching the sunset, the privacy it offered was unparalleled, allowing us to enjoy the spectacle without any disturbances. It might not have a sandy beach right at its doorstep, but the direct access to the beach it does provide was just as satisfying. And for those who prefer the feel of sand beneath their feet, the closest sandy beach was conveniently located nearby, just a short walk away. Location-wise, Via Lassi couldn’t be more perfect. It is surrounded by a plethora of shops and a wide array of restaurants for those evenings you choose to dine out. Getting to Argostoli was a breeze, whether you choose to take a leisurely 15-minute stroll or hop on a bus during the tourist season. To top it off, we were welcomed with complimentary fruits and a bottle of wine - a lovely touch that further enhanced the warm, homely feeling.
Jonat B — Google review
I spent an idyllic week with my son at Via Lassi! Every detail has been thought of to ensure a moment out of time: perfectly equipped bungalow, breathtaking view (best spot to admire the sunset), private beaches with turquoise water and even a private pontoon. And what can I say about the extreme kindness of Eleni and the owners. My 7-year-old son said he was in heaven here!
Hadil A — Google review
Via Lassi was perfect from the moment we stepped through the gate. Elena was so welcoming (the loveliest person you will meet!). We rented the 2 bedroom apartment and it was stunning. The views were just incredible and the private coves made you feel like you had a little piece of Kefalonia all to yourself! We can't wait to come back. Thank you for making our stay so memorable ❤️

Avithos Beach is a picturesque spot located in the south-western part of Kefalonia, near Svoronata. This shallow, sandy stretch is backed by cliffs and offers amenities such as a beach bar, tavernas, and umbrella rentals. The area around Avithos Resort is known for its traditional houses with fragrant gardens, olive and orange groves, making it a peaceful place just a short distance from some of the best beaches on the island.
A little slice of paradise. This beach is pure serenity — calm, clear waters, soft sand, and a quiet atmosphere that makes you feel like the world has paused. It’s the perfect place to unwind, take a slow swim, or simply sit and soak in the beauty around you. Truly a hidden gem for anyone seeking peace and quiet.
Lauren H — Google review
Nice beach with clear, shallow water. The seabed has both sand and some rocks. Facilities include showers and a toilet. The cost is €15 for two sunbeds and an umbrella. However, the sunbeds are placed quite close together. Not ideal for snorkeling.
Razvan I — Google review
Avithos Beach in Kefalonia is, without a doubt, a five-star slice of paradise! From the moment you step onto its golden, soft sand, you'll be captivated by the sheer beauty and tranquillity. The crystal-clear, turquoise waters are simply inviting, perfect for a refreshing swim. What truly sets Avithos apart is its gentle, shallow slope, making it ideal for families with children to splash and play safely. Even if you're not travelling with little ones, the calm waters are incredibly relaxing. The beach itself is wonderfully organized, yet manages to retain a natural, unspoiled charm. You'll find plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas for ultimate comfort, along with convenient showers. There are also two fantastic tavernas right on the beach, serving up delicious fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes, perfect for a leisurely lunch with a breathtaking sea view. One of the most enchanting aspects of Avithos is the stunning natural backdrop of lush green hills and the mesmerizing view of the islet of Dias with its charming church. Keep an eye out for the protected turtle nests on the quieter eastern side – a truly special experience if you're lucky enough to witness the hatchlings!
Ioannis — Google review
I can't say I'm impressed. To get there you travel via a gravel road which is quite bad and when we reach to the destination we only saw huge rocks and the whole beach had a 35+ degree decline to the sea, it was rocky all over the place. It's nice to watch but swim and enjoy the sea? Well not so much. Seeing reviews from other people like a month ago and it seems like a different beach but mountains, trees and all are the same. The only good thing as I said was the scenery and that's about it. Edit: I ask a local friend and told me during September having big rocks is kind of normal, still even without rocks for swimming there are far better choices that the island has to offer.
EvroNetwork — Google review
Small little sand and stone beach. Once you go into the sea the sand slowly shifts to bigger rocks and a little deeper in it goes back to sand Quite a few beds with parasols, at the entrance to the beach it says 15 euros for 2 beds and the parasol Sea was surprisingly warm and very gentle. Seems to be preferred by young families Prices for food and drinks at the bar are reasonable
Melissa — Google review
Avithos is a lovely sandy beach with soft golden sand and clear turquoise water — ideal for a relaxing day by the sea. The entrance to the water is gentle and gradual, making it perfect for swimming and especially great for families or those who prefer calmer seas. When we visited, the sea was beautifully calm and inviting. The beach is well organized, with comfortable sunbeds, a beach bar for refreshing drinks (I had an amazing pina colada 🍹), and a nearby taverna where you can enjoy a delicious Greek meal. There are even showers available on the beach, which is a nice touch after a full day in the sun and sand. It’s the perfect combination of natural beauty and convenience, making it a great option whether you’re spending a few hours or an entire day.
Diana B — Google review
The beach is beautiful, but there are a few things to keep in mind. Be sure to bring water shoes. The beach is sandy, but the sea is pebbly. It's safe for young children; even if they venture out a bit, the water will still be shallow. The water is murky (110-120 cm), so you don't need a snorkel. I recommend not wearing jewelry because of the murky water. The front row of sunbeds costs 35 euros, and the back row costs 20 euros. There's a space to protect the loggerhead sea turtle eggs.
İKLİM K — Google review
We visited on Sunday 18th June and sat on the main beach which was fairly crowded but we managed to find a quiet section on the main beach to the left as you face the sea. It’s lovely here with shallow and warm water. There’s also a life guard on duty on the main beach and refreshments if you need it. Video is of the main beach. On both the far left of the beach and on the far right behind 2 equally huge rocks are a section for naturists. On the left you have to walk into the sea but only to knee height to access the beach however this makes it very private and I only saw one naturist couple on this beach. On the right you have to walk across some low rocks onto a second lovely sandy beach to go past the very large rock to the naturist area and because you don’t need to get your feet wet to access this beach I saw quite a few naturist couples on this beach. Towards the end of the day naturists were using both middle and far right beach. Still photos are of the naturist area to the left of the beach. The sea is lovely turquoise colour. Lovely looking taverna just set back from the beach. I would definitely go back to this beach but I would use the beach to the right as you face the sea because it was more accessible and flatter.

Vouti Beach is a hidden gem located on the northern side of Kefalonia. It offers a tranquil and clean haven with stunning surroundings. The beach is divided by impressive rocks, with one side partly organized and featuring a beach bar, while the other side remains untouched. The crystal-clear azure waters and pebbled shoreline make it perfect for snorkeling enthusiasts.
One of our favorite beaches on this wonderful island The road up here is a bit more difficult, but it's ok There is a shower, toilet and free parking. Next to the parking lot is a small bar that offers you a wonderful view of the beach Here you can drink coffee, beer and also serve lunch Sunbeds cost 15 eur / set When we were there, 1/2 of June, there were not many people on the beach The beach is not sandy, small stones, you need suitable shoes, but the water is crystal clear We will definitely come back next year

What a hidden gem! It's a must when in kefalonia. Lovely unspoilt beach. Few sunbeds. Cafe. Toilet too. Parking is available also. Totally unspoilt and clear blue water for swimming, snorkeling and just sitting in shallow water. Like I say.....hidden gem and lovely staff in cafe.

One of the most beautiful beaches on the island. Can get very crowded, despite the tricky road. Amazing views from above. There's a cute bar with basic food and passable service. Two sunbeds + umbrella are 15 euro in July 2025, if you're lucky to get some.

Very nice peaceful beach with clear water and free beach beds. Good for snorkeling. Sun hides behind the nearest hill earlier than on other beaches creating nice shade. Very pleasant environment. I enjoyed it better than Myrthos beach.
Jeka M — Google review
I’m not sure if the road to this beach is worth it in the end. It's extremely steep, full of sharp corners and really narrow — borderline dangerous, and certainly not suitable for low cars. You might not find any parking spaces at the end. The beach itself is nice, but not much nicer than the surrounding beaches

Super nice beach Water very clear and clean. There is parking and toilets at the beach bar. Great for snorkeling. Road is a little bit difficult but manageable.
Ionel M — Google review
It is a nice beach, but I’m giving it 3 stars because the free beach area is located in the right corner. There, the stones are quite large, and it’s impossible to lie down for 2–3 hours if you only have regular towels. We ended up leaving and going to Agia Kiriaki Beach instead. Also, the road was the most challenging one we encountered in Kefalonia. It’s a matter of taste, of course, but I personally wouldn’t return to this beach.

Marvellous water but come before 4 pm to enjoy one hour of sun at least, now in september at 5.15 pm it was all in shade. Last km is a steep dirt road, but I guess worth it if you stay the whole day, so I wouldn't come here just for the afternoon as a second beach.

Spasmata Beach is a smaller, quieter beach with easy access and a unique feature of being located right next to the airport, offering the fun experience of watching planes take off. The beach has clear and warm shallow waters, making it perfect for those who prefer not to venture too far into deep water. It offers different experiences with parts of it being rocky or pebbly while others have smooth sand. There's also a well-stocked beach bar that serves standard fare including drinks and ice cream.
Very nice quiet spacious beach doing it simple things really really well. Ample parking. The water was crystal clear and calm. Do not be put off by the aircraft near taking off, it added excitement ! Highly recommend.

A sandy beach with crystal clear shallow waters which makes it very family friendly and with easy parking. Fairly priced loungers (12€/set) and a beach bar. The only downside is that, sometimes, it gets really windy.
Jenny P — Google review
The access road and parking area are a little run down and feel a little precarious but the beach itself seemed nice. Didn’t fancy a dip as it was a little chilly on our visit.

Sandy beach, swallow warm waters, organized and free space for own umbrella. Canteen offers excellent coffee and light snacks. Very friendly service. First row prices 10€ for pair of sunbed and umbrella, 2n and 3rd row 8€ for all day use. Easy access via road and free parking. Ideal for children and families

We went here at the very beginning of the summer season. The beach was still being cleared of urchins but that had no negative effect as the view, the water, the sunbeds, the drinks and the staff that work on the shack made this a great place to spend a few hours. The sand is dark, which I wasn't expecting as the beaches either side are gold. The water here is clear and warm, it is shallow for quite a way out, perfect for my husband who doesn't do well in deep water. The view is beautiful all day long but especially at sunset. We visited other beaches whilst staying locally but always ended up back at this one.

My absolute most favourite beach for its simplicity, natural surroundings and lovely friendly beach bar. The ladies who run the bar are so friendly and easy going and the sun beds are very reasonably priced although there are a few seats around the bar if you just want to sit for a while. My favourite tipple is an iced latte which is delicious. The sea is easy to access for swimming and the surroundings are beautiful.
Zoe S — Google review
Was windy today, which meant the sea was a little rough, didn't deter us, in fact, made it even more fun jumping the waves. Great little beach bar serving drinks and snacks with friendly staff. Only 8 euro for 2 sun beds.
Dave W — Google review
A beach with different faces; parts of it rocky and pebble-y and others with smooth sand. Walk towards the cliffs with the sea caves, and the location is absolutely idyllic; no pebbles there whatsoever. Most people can't be bothered however to walk an extra 2 - 3 minutes to get to it and therefore prefer to sit at the deckchairs with umbrella. There's a well-stocked beach bar that makes all standard fare and has drinks, ice cream, alcohol, etc. A shower head and hose pipe is available for washing yourself. Only the toilet is a rather unsavoury experience (hot box) and it is up in the car park. I'd recommend getting your number 2 toilet needs out of the way before arriving at the beach. At least going for number 1 is easier on anyone! Also, driving to Spasmata is an experience. You need a vehicle with enough torque (4x4). The gradient of the roads is extremely high with tight and blind bends. You need to be careful of foolish and irresponsible locals who are speeding on this stretch of sketchy road. As you exit from the airport road to the turn for Spasmata, go downhill to the first Y junction, and take the LEFT, not the RIGHT. Follow this road all the way until the next Y junction. Then take the RIGHT. Follow this road and you should exit onto a rather wide road with NATO fencing because you are right next to the airport runway! Access to Spasmata is best this way. If you follow Google maps it will take all the way to the cliffs of the beach, but the descent is treacherous for those not wearing good grip footwear, ladies you have been warned!

Platia Kampanas, or Bell Square, is a charming pedestrian area located in the heart of Argostoli. This delightful square features a historic Clock Tower that was beautifully reconstructed after the 1953 earthquake. Surrounded by quaint cafes and shops, it invites visitors to relax and soak in the vibrant atmosphere. The square is particularly enchanting in the evening when it comes alive with bustling street bars and lively crowds.
Platia Kampanas has become a place that people can come with their families. Children can play safely in view of their parents. It has a very good ice cream shop all homemade. Sovlaki shop is also very good. Plus they have a new pizzeria.

Pretty square to hang out for a drink or a gelato. It’s not very touristy during non peak seasons and hence a delight to be around here. Cars aren’t allowed into the tiny stretch which is a relief.
Emily R — Google review
We had a late night pizza in the Platia. It was delicious. Each pizza is so huge. We were glad we shared one between us. It was freshly made in their proper pizza oven. The base was light and crispy and the toppings very generous. It was a great atmosphere late at night in the square. Kids playing, families eating together and couples (like us) chatting romantically. It wasn’t the cheapest of pizzas but it was delicious.

Lovely square in Argostoli in the older part of the town away from the newer bigger square. Good selection of cafes and bars around the square. The bell tower is in the centre back of the square.
Sue V — Google review
Great place for finding souvenirs and window shopping. Particularly if you like looking jewelry. There are a variety of jewelry shops. It can get busy after 5pm.
Hope V — Google review
Lively square with bars and restaurants. Seemed more local as it was a bit down from the main square.
