The Monastery of 40 Saints, a 6th-century Byzantine monastery located on a hillside overlooking Sarandë and its bay, holds great historical significance. It was a major pilgrimage site for over a millennium and is now mostly in ruins. According to legend, it was named after forty Roman soldiers who were martyred for refusing to renounce their Christian faith.

Restaurant
Haxhi is a well-regarded restaurant in Saranda, Albania, offering a variety of cuisine including seafood, Mediterranean dishes, grilled options, and vegetarian fare. While not located directly on Saranda Beach, it boasts a lovely view of the bay from its position above the embankment. The restaurant tends to be busy during the summer months and does not typically take reservations during this time. Visitors may have better luck securing a table by arriving early.
Everything here was great. The service was quick and we were always greeted with a smile. Staff were also super helpful with gluten free options. I have nothing bad to say about the food. The house wine was also lovely and very affordable. Would definitely recommend coming here

This is a must-visit when you come to Sarandë. We’re here off-season but the place is packed! We were greeted warmly by the boss when we entered, followed by a delightful service from the staff. The dishes were served very quickly and everything was cooked to perfection. This was our first meal in Albania, so we didn’t know what to expect. But Haxhi did it so well! We ordered the feta cheese honey, the shrimp pasta with lemon, and the fried calamari. Everything was SO GOOD. Our favourite was the calamari, easily one of the freshest and the tempura was so well done. The boss also recommended a hot sauce that is called brain burner. I dare say that it really burned my brain 😆 After the meal, they proceeded to serve free desserts, a raki shot, and another liquor that is fruity. We loved loved loved them!

Absolutely loved this place! First, we enjoyed the eclectic decor and nice music. The staff were very nice, spoke excellent English. Food came quickly, and had 3 people helping things run smoothly. As for the food, we had a rocket salad with fantastic warm homemade bread. We shared a main of vegetable pasta. The noodles were cooked perfect al dente. Sauce was buttery tomato, great flavor. Had 0.5 liter of house red wine. Raki and fruit for dessert (gratis). All around great experience. One of my favorite restaurants in the Balkins. Please go there! Edit: went there the following night to try their other non-meat dishes. We had the bean salad (excellent) and the risotto (slightly salty for my taste, but also excellent. Ask for no cheese, if you don't want such. Again, an excellent place to eat! Spent a long while talking to a Colorado couple bicycling around Europe.

A very pleasant family-run restaurant with a cozy atmosphere and friendly staff. This place is very popular in Saranda, so it's always fully booked during peak season. The dishes are delicious and generous. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Gleb E — Google review
This fabulous, authentic family-owned Albanian restaurant offered us a friendly welcome and delicious food in a charming setting. The slow roasted pork with roasted potatoes was superb, as was the spinach pasta with shrimp and the appetizers of spicy cheese and garlic dip. The owner kindly offered us homemade rekki and a baked sweet glazed sesame cheese for dessert. We will definitely be back to try some of the other delights.
Michael H — Google review
The pork was tenderising and nicely done. The spinach shrimp penne pasta did not look great from appearance but it came as a pleasant surprise to us. The pasta was delicious. It would be nice if there were more shrimps Overall food was good and they had an amazing view. Pls try when you are in Saranda

Really lovely restaurant. Quirky decor and unique atmosphere. Great food and it was lovely to get free bread, dessert and shot. They really put a lot of effort into what they do and the service and atmosphere was amazing! 5 stars! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My second time here. First time I was here with my mum and now with my husband and our children. A wonderful experience for the whole family! The restaurant impressed us not only with amazing food but also with the attentive service – we even received an extra starter, a drink, and a fantastic homemade dessert. The kids loved the playful and unusual glasses, and we really enjoyed the unique travel-inspired décor. Everything was simply perfect, and we’ll definitely be coming back!

Restaurant
Taverna Labëria is a family-run restaurant in Saranda, known for serving some of the best meat dishes in the area. Located just a short walk from the city center, this restaurant offers delicious souvlaki, grilled meats, salads, and flavorful tzatziki. Visitors highly recommend trying their pork pancetta, Greek salad, and chicken on the spit. The restaurant is praised for its authentic and fresh food prepared right in front of customers at an affordable price.
Simply incredible! I ate like a king. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations, and the portions were very generous. Although I wasn’t particularly impressed by Albanian cuisine in general, this restaurant single-handedly restored the country’s culinary honor! The staff was outstanding—friendly, warm, and very attentive. During our 15-day stay in Albania, this was the only restaurant truly worth visiting. We even returned three nights in a row because the meals were so delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection, and the seafood and fish were remarkably fresh and high-quality. If I ever come back to Albania, it would largely be to eat again at this restaurant! Thanks again to the entire team—you treated us wonderfully and even surpassed many French restaurants!

Great food and fantastic service! The chicken shish kebab was perfect, moist and tender. I had to share with the little kitty that came to say hello. Be aware that they only accept cash. Only negative was the music, a bit too loud and not the style we like. Still looking for a place here that plays nice jazz music.
Roxy — Google review
We had passed the restaurant every night on the way to our hotel and it was always busy (during low season) and then we read it was a family owned business with really great portions so we gave it a try - and it didn’t disappoint 😁 great and lovely service and the portions were bigger than we could’ve imagined. Really good food, huge portions and the best prices we had so far (the biggest and best Tzatziki ever for 3€!). We took the rest for take away and we are more than happy with choosing this restaurant. Would always recommend!
Marie H — Google review
Its a very nice taverna with a lot of meat options. If you like meat I would recommend you to eat here. They also have fish options for the people who dont want meat. The service was very good and we ate our bellies full!
Jay K — Google review
I am not even Italian and i was offended by the ‘spaghetti alla carbonara’…. Had to put pepper on it myself and there was no sign of carbonara in the spaghetti. Should’ve called it spaghetti with creamy white sauce and it might have been fine. On the other hand, the staff was friendly and the atmosphere was really good Sadly they didn’t have any cocktails and you had to pay by cash
Suzanne D — Google review
We were in Sarandë for five days and it was difficult to eat well. But this was definitely one of the best restaurants we found. We went back twice for the same dish. The tzaziki is a generous portion, and we ordered the ground veal burgers, which were delicious, juicy, and generously portioned.
Gabryella M — Google review
We eated excellent. Portions are huge so we were very surprised. Meals are tasty, fresh, and we get them very quick.
Valentina P — Google review
This restaurant is a must have!! It was a 30 minute walk away for us but it was a lovely walk across the promenade & the food was worth every step! The service is outstanding, & the restaurant had a lovely atmosphere. The food was amazing!! The portions are huge so be warned but you will enjoy every mouthful! If you think you are too far from the restaurant, make the journey - you won’t regret it!!

Beach
Mango Beach is a popular private beach in Saranda, located 3 kilometers south of the town center. You can reach it by walking, taking a taxi, or catching one of the regular buses to Ksamil and asking to be dropped off at Mango Beach. The beach offers sun beds, restaurants, and beach bars. While the tiny stones on the beach are sharp for bare feet, swimming shoes are recommended. The water is clean and teeming with fish.
Really love the beach! The sunbeds are very comfortable (20€ for 2 + umbrella) and the water is crystal clear. The sand is pebbles so bring sandals to wear. You can order drinks to your sunbed and there is also a lovely restaurant on the beach
Aurora M — Google review
I don’t know why so many people complain about the prices — Mango Beach absolutely deserves 5 stars. The music is great, the staff is amazing and really helpful, and the views are stunning. The food is delicious, the cocktails are spot-on, and the prices are more than fair for the experience you get. Truly worth every penny spent!
Echo O — Google review
This beach has beautiful seaside viewpoint but it is definitely not thanks to the administration of beach club. 2 sunbeds and umbrella cost 20 euro. But taking into account the quality of those beds (stains on mattresses) and umbrellas (they are small and have holes in some places) it is a little bit overpriced. The staff give visitors ashtrays but the cigarette butts are visible on the sand from time to time. The separate paragraph of review is dedicated to the toilet (for women). The shower is located inside toilet building so be careful when you visit it: because of the water there is slippery floor and danger of falling. There was no cabin which can be locked: so you should ask someone to protect the cabin door. We visited beach 3 times and only during 1 day the toilet paper was in toilets. The waiters are polite. I think that this place has opportunity to be good one, but the beach club administration should invest resources for its development: to clean beach zone from trash, improve toilets, reconstruct umbrellas one by one. Without such changes it continues to be place for collecting money only, The future belongs to socially responsible businesses, so, please, be such kind of business.
Tetiana V — Google review
Great vibes, friendly staff, and stunning views. The highlight was definitely the shisha—smooth, flavorful, and perfectly prepared with regular coal changes. The cocktails and atmosphere made it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the sunset. Highly recommend!
Hena Q — Google review
Mango Beach in Sarandë was absolutely beautiful — crystal-clear blue water, soft white sand, and a calm, luxurious atmosphere. The on-site restaurant was tasty, and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, which really added to the relaxing experience. If you’re looking for a peaceful and upscale beach day in Albania, I highly recommend Mango. Just make sure to go early — the sunbeds fill up quickly! Overall, a fantastic spot to unwind and enjoy the coast.

Best resort, restaurant and private beach in Sarande! Nice and clean beach, amazing water, friendly staff. Im totaly impressed! 10++
Miljan R — Google review
Only because of the beautiful view, I put 1 stars. There is no option to book the sunbeds online — we were told over the phone that you just have to come early. So it's not possible to reserve them in advance, you simply need to be faster than others. At first, we wanted to get the €20 sunbeds, but they were already taken. The only ones available were €50 each, which included two cocktails, a fruit platter, and a spot in the first row by the sea. We stayed from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. At 1:00 PM, we ordered the cocktails — they were not tasty. At 6:00 PM, we decided to ask for the fruit platter, which was included in the price. When I called the waiter over, he started avoiding us and later ignored us completely. I approached him directly (after calling him several times before), and he just said there were no fruits. We asked another staff member to offer an alternative, but we were ignored for another hour. So we decided to leave. I really don’t understand how you can sell a service that includes a fruit platter and not actually provide it. This only shows the poor quality of service in Albania.
Люда К — Google review
Nice beach, water is so crystal . you need water shoes for comfortable swimming, walking to the sea. I didn't rent a sun longe. There are some palms make shade if you don't want to pay for umbrella and don't want to get burnt on the sun

Saranda Beach is a popular spot along the Albanian Riviera, known for its abundance of beaches and vibrant social scene. As one of the main entry points to Albania from Corfu, Greece, it has become a bustling tourist destination. The town's coastal location on the Ionian Sea offers stunning views and a pleasant climate that attracts both locals and international visitors. Saranda also serves as a gateway city to Albania due to its proximity to Greece and growing port infrastructure.
Nice beach. Great time to come in May when there is not too many people and the temperature is still not so sweltering. Make sure to bring shoes and a yoga mat for the beach as it’s all rocks and no sand
Sam — Google review
Great beach, surrounded by bars, shops, restaurants and even an amusement park with a panorama wheel. The beach is free, also free showers, the rest of the places are cheap. The water is not the cleanest, but it's OK. Don't count on finding parking.
Ivo P — Google review
The public beach in Saranda was a wonderful place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Albanian Riviera. The clear blue waters and stunning views of the coastline created a perfect setting for a laid-back day by the sea. The atmosphere was lively yet welcoming, with both locals and visitors enjoying the sunshine. I loved how easy it was to access the beach, with plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby to grab a drink or snack. The water was refreshing, the surroundings were clean, and the overall vibe was peaceful and enjoyable. Saranda’s public beach was simple, beautiful, and truly a highlight of my stay in the city.
Mohsin R — Google review
the sea here is stunning and very easy to swim... but the beach is shingle and has many stray dogs lying around. the surrounding promenade has many bars and restaurants but overall, could do with a good clean up.
DrifterNick — Google review
It was at the end of September 2025, a beautiful beach, there were not many people, enough space for everyone, the beach is covered with pebbles, lying on a blanket hurts a little) The water is very beautiful and clean.
Остап — Google review
Lovely beach , spacious , totally free but you need to bring your towels+- umbrella and there are free showers. Lots of restaurants surrounding and ice cream shops. You need sand shoes as almost rocky but water generally clean. Nice beach vibes ☀️🕶️ Not party beach

Amazing spot in Saranda! The Sheesha Lounge has a great vibe with good music, friendly staff, and top-quality shisha. Perfect place to chill with friends, Andriko was very welcoming definitely recommend!
Ifsa W — Google review
If you’re looking for a place that actually knows how to do shisha right, fresh flavors, smooth pull, quality coals, this is it. The vibe is unbeatable: terrace views straight over the Ionian, chill music that doesn’t kill the conversation, and lighting that hits just right after sunset. Staff? Super professional but still relaxed, they get hospitality. Service is quick, you’re not waiting forever for your order, and they actually check in on you without being annoying. Cocktails are solid, not watered down, and they’ve got a surprisingly good drink menu for a lounge. Bonus points for the mocktails and fresh juices too. Whether you’re coming for the view, the hookah, or just a laid-back night out, Saranda Terraces Shisha Lounge delivers every time. Perfect for locals, tourists, couples, or a night with the crew😁😁😁

Saranda Municipality public beach is a delightful spot for both relaxation and fun. Nestled along the main promenade, it features an inflatable water park that promises hours of entertainment for friends and families alike. While the beach has its share of pebbles, you can rent umbrellas to shield yourself from the sun or find some free shade under nearby trampolines. The atmosphere is vibrant, with plenty of restaurants and shops just a stone's throw away.
Great beach for running along promenade or swimming or catching the sunset. Water is Coleman and not too much boat traffic. Some garbage but seen worse!

Stony beach but unfortunately not clean. Normally crowded at the peak of the summer vacations. Problem of shower that doesn't work and lack of place where to change wet clothes (city authorities doesn't care for tourists).

Clean and nice wather. No sunbeds.

If you come from a country where they have real beaches, you'd be sorely disappointed with this stony beach. Ignoring the crowds (since it's a seasonal thing), the place is littered with bits of broken glass (we collected a small pile just around the area we were at), cigarette butts and other bits of litter, and you may find the occasional dog poo around. It did have the odour of fermenting dog piss, which you couldn't escape. Honest advice ... find somewhere else, preferably in another country.

We went in May and there was a lot of rubbish all over the beach, big piles of broken seats and umbrella. Would recommend going to the next beach over, the water is just as nice but less rubbish
Sophie C — Google review
It was dirty and you pay 5€ for "private" parking and 10€ for and umbrella and 2 sits which are not even comfortable in ksamil you have with 10€ sits that feel like bed and free parking spots which are much better. Only nice for a picture in the corner of the sea but not worth so much money for it.
Ιωάννα Τ — Google review
The sea is blueish but not the clearest or cleanest if we are being honest due to large waves caused partially by the wind and the passing-by boats. 20 euros for two sunbeds and an umbrella is an absolute rip off.
Aldo C — Google review
1500lek(15-16€) for sunbeds which are old and damaged definitely not cleaned at all 500lek (5-6€) for parking. Very bad road down to cliff to the parking and beach. How is the beach and water ? •The beach is rocky and dirty between sunbeds. On the beach there are few local dogs looking for food. •Water was wildin (I was there in the end of the june) waves were big and strong and water was filled with little grasses. I would recommend it maybe for someone who is looking for getting sun tanned and not get soaked in his / hers own sweat. Overall for me it was worst beach here in Ksamil / Sarande and I can thank to ChatGPT for lying to me 😇
Gabriel T — Google review
+: ok beach –: The main beach area was overcrowded — we were packed like sardines on a rocky shoreline. 🌟 But! If you’re up for an adventure: cross through the water on the left side of the beach, around the cliff, and you’ll reach Shpella e Pëllumbave — a much quieter spot with white sand and calm, clear water. Great for families with little kids.
Tahira A — Google review
The water is very clear but I couldn’t see any fish or interesting finds when snorkelling. It was very peaceful here and I easily spent s few hours here - safely leaving my belongings on the shore. The beach is pebbly so bring sea shoes if you have them. There are no desk chairs or umbrellas unless you bring your own, nor any refreshments. To get there my public transport you do need to time it right, otherwise get a taxi. The buses leave Butrint every hour at half past so they tend to reach Ksamil at 38-40 past. The bus takes about 7 mins and is 50 LEK, you can tell the conductor where you are going and they’ll tell you where to get off. On the way back buses leave Saranda at half past and tend to reach Pasqyra 20-25 minutes later. From the bus stop to the beach you will need to walk up and over a hill which is fairly loose so do bring decent shoes.
Erald H — Google review
Beautiful beach😻 there is a small and low grotto, so you can only swim there, because it is constantly flooded with water. The water is clean, interesting rocky slopes, from which trees grow, but there is no shade to hide, all the time in the sun. There is a beautiful island on the right. You can find sand only near the shore, and there are pebbles in the rest of the beach and in the water.

Horrible beach with sharp stones, the kid responsible for the parking lot wanted to get in my car and park it for me, which was absurd to begin with. Of course I told him there is no chance of that ever happening, he got offended and then made a comment about my car being nothing special. Which was really funny since it’s a new car worth more than his salary over the next decade. Strongly reccomend to stay away from this mess.

It's not worth it for 20e for umbrella Very dirty old beds too much cigare around the beach and beds. We paid 750lek for two coffee and one water. This price it's not even in a the most expensive place in the Vlore. The shower not working no water even in the toilets The stuff are kindly and only Albanian language speak 😳

It's an ideal spot for sunbathing and lounging while enjoying the breathtaking scenery. Besides Pulëbardha Beach, there are other gorgeous beaches to explore in Sarande, including the renowned Blue Eye (Syri Kalter), which offers frigid waters unique to Albania.
Beautiful beach, but the big waves won't let you swim. If you plan to go with kids it's not the best beach for kids. The color of the water is astonishing, nice beach for chilling. There are restaurants where you can eat and enjoy the view. The sunbeds are very close to each other so you can't walk

The crystal-clear sea and the view from the restaurant terrace are definitely the highlights of this place! We paid 3000 ALL for an umbrella and two sunbeds for the whole day, but received a 1000 ALL refund because we ate at their restaurant. The staff is very kind and attentive, often checking in at the sunbeds to see if you need anything. The food is overall good, with mostly fair prices (except for a few things — like a Corona beer for €7/8, which seems a bit much). One small critique from an Italian — they put parmesan on the mussels, which back home would get you arrested, but we’ll forgive them 😂. Definitely a place worth visiting — the sea is truly amazing!

We really had fun here. The beach and the restaurant are amazing, the food was delicious. It's somewhat secluded. We went with a kid, so it's also kid friendly. But, if you are looking for a sand beach, don't go here. The road ia a bit narrow and it's old dirt road, so it takes a bit of skill to navigate there.

Great view some parking spaces but you have to go early to find it near the beach and its only 2€ the road is a bit difficult so i wouldnt recommend going with very low cars the restaurants had great food there wasnt much public space and the music was very loud but overall worth it especially the cliff jumping

nice views, nice water, today monday- crowded. umbrella with two sunbeds - 25€. if you eat in restaurant -20€. in this area - one of the best, i think.

The road to this beach is honestly the worst almost destroyed our car getting there a terrible experience. Once you finally arrive the beach is beautiful with rocks and a stunning view of the sea from above. The place has its charm but the road really makes it hard to enjoy fully.

Great looking beach! It was one for the prettiest in the Sarande area. The road to get it demanda a bit of knowledge on driving in bumpy roads, but nothing crazy. You acess the beach by some stairs, there is a bathroom and restaurant with bar.

Beautiful beach, little rocky, but clear water. Waves can get big if windy. But perfect nature. Has portion for public space

Lori Beach is a small cove that boasts of a sandy beach, shallow waters and sun lounges for rent. Visitors can also enjoy snacks at the restaurant. Hammocks and sun umbrellas can be rented for 1,000 Lekes for the entire day. Private boat trips are available from local men in little boats, costing around 3,000 Lekes.
Nice relaxing beach, clear water. Friendly staff and fast service to your beach bed. Delicious “chef’s salad” at the restaurant, would recommend! Clean toilets. 1000 Lek for 2 beds/umbrella, you sit down on the bed you want and the guy will come to you to collect your cash after.

We went there on 2nd Aug 2025, 2 sun beds and an umbrella from row 1 to 4 are €20, after that is €15. Beach is not pebble, so no need for water shoes. It has a good structure, a huge car parking, toilets and a big restaurant. Music is quite low but you can mostly listen from the other beaches around. Water gets quite dirty in the afternoon, I guess by the number of people in that area. It’s really full and with lots of kids.

Beautiful place, delicious food, and excellent service. Staff speaks English and Italian, which makes everything easier. We ate and drank very well (3 adults) for €80 — amazing value for money. 5⭐

Lori Beach ⛱️ is a very nice place to enjoy the See. I am for the fourth time here and I am sure that I will come again. You can always get a cheap umbrella🏖️, Eleon the very kind guy always keep me one free, if I reserve on the right time. Thanks for it Bro!😎 The wifi is good, in the bar there is several tasty meals.

Its a nice beach and worth to stop by if you have the time. Its not too crowded and it the water has a green colour. Beautiful view and nice beach.

Beautiful place to spend the day. A small beach with parking and restrooms, and a clean sea. The restaurant is quite good, and the food is tasty. Prices are reasonable, 10€ for 2 sunbeds and an umbrella.

We had a lovely dinner last night at LORI, right on the beach in Ksamil. The staff was very welcoming and friendly — special thanks to Nico, our waiter, who recommended the house specialty: a delicious seafood and fresh fish platter for two. Absolutely worth it! The menu offers a nice variety of dishes, and the setting is beautiful — a tasteful boho-chic decor with a relaxed atmosphere. Background music was just right, creating a pleasant vibe without being overwhelming. Highly recommend for a seaside dinner with great food and ambiance!

We spent two days of our holiday at this beach and absolutely loved it! The sea was calm, the atmosphere relaxing, and the restaurant served delicious food. Unlike some other places, they don’t try to rip you off – the staff are genuinely respectful and provide great service. You’re allowed to bring your own food and drinks, which is a big plus. There’s also a free car park right in front of the beach. Perfect spot for families and couples looking for a peaceful day by the sea. Highly recommended! 🌊☀️
