Cathedral
Dome
Uppsala Cathedral, also known as the Domkyrka, is a Gothic-style Lutheran place of worship in Uppsala, Sweden. It was consecrated in 1435 and is one of the most significant religious buildings in the country. The cathedral's construction began in the late 13th century and lasted for about 150 years. It suffered fire damage during the Great Fire of 1702 and underwent remodeling with Renaissance-style architecture.
The cathedral has a great architecture from very past. It feels mesmerizing arriving there and visit. We could not manage to visit inside as we arrived late. But it was a great experience still taking a walk around. There is parking area nearby (not very big though).
Chander V — Google review
Oldest and the most important cathedral in Sweden with a lot of history and it is absolutely huge with 119 meters twin spires dominating the skyline. Graves of great Swedish scientists Linnaeus and Celsius as well as Swedish kings and Queens decorate the floor, vestibules and chapels. The altar, stained glass windows and pulpit are all interesting. At the entrance to the cathedral there is an excellent presentation of the whole history of this cathedral in a chronological fashion as well as a detailed map of various graves, shrines etc. There are lots of Rune stones in the church yard as well. We were in the cathedral while the Sunday mass was going on. We attended the service although it was in Swedish. Magdalene college Oxford choir was visiting and their singing and organ music was ethereal. This place is a must on any visit to Uppsala.

Beautiful cathedral in Uppsala. Not too many tourist come inside. Beautiful architectuur. What make unique also is inside the cathedral have corner for children to play. It’s interesting and make the children quite for a while because busy playing bicks here. One of the must places to visit in Uppsala.

Uppsala Cathedral is truly beautiful. It’s stunning on the outside and peaceful on the inside. You can enter for free, which is great because it gives you the chance to take your time, sit for a while, and just enjoy the calm atmosphere. The architecture is impressive, full of history and detail. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Uppsala.
Sofia U — Google review
Visiting Uppsala Cathedral was a truly awe-inspiring experience. The grandeur of the Gothic architecture, with its soaring spires and intricate details, immediately captures your attention. Inside, the atmosphere is both majestic and peaceful, filled with beautiful stained glass windows and impressive medieval art. The cathedral’s history is palpable, from royal tombs to centuries-old craftsmanship. It’s a perfect spot for history buffs, architecture lovers, and anyone looking for a serene place to reflect. A must-see when in Uppsala!
Sanjeewa J — Google review
Had the opportunity to perform at the cathedral. The leadership and staff were friendly and welcoming. The structure is beautiful. Definitely worth a visit!

Attraction
Uppsala Castle, also known as Uppsala Slott, is a 16th-century castle with a rich history and stunning views overlooking the city. Built by King Gustav Vasa, it has been the site of significant events in Swedish history. The castle houses three museums and features the elaborately decorated State Hall where many kings have been enthroned. Visitors can explore art exhibitions at the Uppsala Konstmuseum and enjoy breathtaking views from the battlements.
Uppsala Castle (Swedish: Uppsala slott) is a 16th-century royal castle in the city of Uppsala, Sweden. Throughout much of its early existence, the castle played a major role in the history of Sweden. Originally constructed in 1549, the castle has been heavily remodeled, expanded, and otherwise modified. Today the structure houses the official residence of the governor of Uppsala County, various businesses, and two museums.
Edward T — Google review
it is literally OK kind of place. nothing great. like city is very cool and calm. nice people but literally very dead kind of place. nothing special kind of castle. we walked down from railway station. and surprisingly we like walking to the street of city was more fun then visiting inside of castle. there was a cafeteria and having nice coffee, cakes and noodles options. other than we didn't enjoy much. but yes it was a good and pleasant experience travelling from stockholm to uppsala by train. in fact, there are nice church and other place where my kids enjoyed.
Dewang P — Google review
Uppsala Castle is an imposing landmark with a rich history, offering great views over the city. While the exterior is impressive, the inside is not as grand as one might expect from a castle of this scale. There are some exhibitions inside, but the real highlight is walking around the grounds and enjoying the panoramic scenery. It’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in Uppsala, especially for history enthusiasts. If you’re interested in Swedish history, the museum inside might be worth checking out, but the castle itself is more about its historical significance than lavish interiors.
Leandro — Google review
An interesting building with 3 different museums while two of them are free. There are parking lots outside and very convenient. The building is on a hill and there are old canons outside. A coffee shop is inside the art museum. In overall it is a great view and nice to get some bits of informations through the museums.
Simon C — Google review
One of the best views in Uppsala since it‘s also on of the highest points of the city. Highly recommend this spot during sunsets. 🌅
Manuel P — Google review
Striking castle with a multitude of museums and historical features. Enjoyed roaming the courtyard and visiting the castle ruins museum.
Sarah H — Google review
Uppsala Castle (Uppsala Slott) is a striking Renaissance-era fortress perched on a hill overlooking the city. Built in the 16th century, it played a key role in Swedish history, including dramatic events like the Sture Murders. Today, the castle houses art exhibitions, museums, and the office of the County Governor. The panoramic view from the castle grounds is spectacular, offering a clear vista of Uppsala Cathedral and the surrounding city. Its pink façade and historic halls create a unique blend of power and elegance. Uppsala Slott is a captivating destination for history lovers and a cultural gem worth exploring.

Fyrishov is a prominent multi-purpose arena in Sweden, boasting a popular water park that appeals to families and individuals seeking respite from the chilly Swedish weather. The water park offers an array of attractions including thrilling water slides, a spacious swimming pool for leisurely swims, and relaxation areas. Additionally, Fyrishov features expansive indoor sports halls and doubles as a concert venue.
The favourite place of the kids. For me it's too noisy, overcrowded and it's stuffy and smells like chlorine inside. But it has a big green zone with few swimming pools outside where you can swim and enjoy the sun and a fresh air.
Kateryna C — Google review
A good place to relax with kids of all ages, but teenagers will be a little sad, because the slides are under repair and there is only one pool with paths and diving boards. The other outdoor pools are shallow. There is a nice area for the smallest children, it's great that smoking is not allowed on the territory, but it's better to take food and drinks with you, there is a small cafe with burgers, hotdogs and mini pizzas, delicious pancakes with jam. And ice cream. A nice field for recreation, in good weather there are many people and plenty of sun loungers. There is little shade or shelter, so you need to have sunscreen.
Nataliia I — Google review
Take your own padlocks AND a 10 SEK coin! The premises are old, but the swimming pools and showers themselves are good. The place is a bit crowded for what it offers and we adults missed the regular pool which was strangely warm and either booked or occupied with parents with babies.
Ugnė G — Google review
I wanted to go for a swim, but when I arrived the pool was completely occupied with school classes, senior sports groups, and other visitors. There was no chance to get into the water. The outdoor area was closed, another indoor section was under construction, and the "hot pool" was fully booked. So I ended up with nowhere to swim, changed back into my clothes, and went home. Some information about this at the entrance would have been really helpful.
Brendan B — Google review
Great place! The showers are good and you can manage the temperature. The swimming pool is clean and there's usually space to swim alone; I train for a triathlon. The restaurant has a yummy vegetarian hamburger for 89 sek, as today 28/feb-24. The personnel is kind and smile to customers. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Could improve? Yes, the personnel could guide customers if they're in the wrong line: fast, medley or motion.
Cristina R — Google review
This review is only of the swimming hall. It's a bit run down in the locker rooms and showers but the actual swimming hall is brightly lit and nice. Lots of space for swimming and if you don't go during peak hours it's surprisingly calm. Would definitely recommend having a swim if you don't mind the rustic look.
Nadeshiko K — Google review
The place is bit worn, but will supposedly be renovated this summer (2025). My kids (5 and 3) loved it though, and didn't care at all about the wear. There was a waterslide that was perfect for them (even better than in Täby). Towards the afternoon, more teens arrived. Their games were a bit too intensive close to my kids, but again my kids didn't seem to mind. Good water pressure and temperature in the showers and fountains. Really friendly staff. Plenty of attentive guards by the water.
John T — Google review
My husband was running a marathon in Uppsala. So I took my 3 children here. We were quickly disappointed to find out the water adventure component was closed for maintenance on August 16th, 2025. When I had looked at their English website, there was no mention of a closure. However, when I looked at the Swedish website, the announcement was there. But we were already at the pool after an Uber ride from our hotel. For a Saturday, I’d expect many families to visit the pool. Not at all on this day. It was not busy. We still paid to experience a Swedish pool. We liked the indoor family pool. The water was warm enough. My 3 year old daughter loved it. To access the outdoor pool, however, you have to walk past the Olympic sized laned pool. The outdoor pool is NOT heated. It was windy that day. My 2 older boys are the adventurous type and wanted to brave the cold pool and my toddler was not interested. As I tried to take my daughter back to the indoor pool, a lifeguard with good English stopped me. He was helpful and yet NOT helpful at the same time. Turned out I had to watch all 3 of my kids -as a parent, I can’t be at 2 places. My boys even wanted to try the middle of the Olympic pool. We asked the lifeguard as he seemed interested in knowing what we were doing. In his words, technically no, you can’t swim there but there is no one. So I let my boys swim there. As I got my daughter settle at a table with chairs nearby, the same lifeguard approached my boys who are now in the pool. As I went back to my boys, the lifeguard left. My boys explained that the lifeguard said that they can’t swim there because of the scuba diver who was at the bottom of the pool. So we were all back at the indoor kids’ pool, passing the empty adventure pool. What a tease! We were only there for about an hour before we left. I see plenty of signs around this place printed in Swedish and English. Since the English is included already, please update the English website too!

Bror Hjorth's House is a museum dedicated to the life and work of Swedish modernist painter and sculptor Bror Hjorth. It was his home and studio for the last 25 years of his life, now showcasing the largest collection of his works. The museum features a wide array of sculptures, paintings, drawings, and sketches that reflect Hjorth's unique style. Visitors are struck by the vivid and quirky nature of his art.
Absolutely recommended - the highlight of my trip to Uppsala 🇸🇪 - I have never been to such an authentic, homely and cosy home-turned museum, so cosy as if Bror Hjorth may be returning home anytime. As if my visit is an invasion of his privacy. They hardly changed anything in his house, not just where the furniture and books were placed, but also where he positioned his paintings and sculptures. Here I am, having just my shoes covered in protection, in where he used to paint, rest and eat. That experience is strangely intimate. Another lovely surprise is how violin was a central object in plenty of his works. I learnt from the museum workers that he grew up surrounded by fiddlers and local music in the Älvkarleby municipality. It goes without saying that he liked the instrument and certainly enjoyed being around fiddlers but I was pretty certain he played the violin himself - this has been confirmed after spotting the few broken violin bows at the corner of his studio. He also owned a baroque violin bow 🎻💙 Also a big shoutout to the team there ❤️ the friendliest, most hospitable and loveliest people I have ever met at a museum. The museum itself is great enough and the staffs make the experience so much better!
Jessie J — Google review
So Cozy, impressed by the artist artworks and high art standard in the other gallery. Nice coffee and brownies. Welcomed environment. You can also sit there and paint. 🎨❤️
Shermin E — Google review
A truly vibrant and complete gallery of Bror Hjorth's work, a very satisfying visit even for those who know nothing about him, with lovely welcoming and knowledgeable staff, just remember to put shoe covers on! Strongly recommended

I've been there plenty of times now, and I always loved it. The last time was yesterday, with my baby son for the children's tour. The people working there are super friendly. While we waited for the tour to start, I had fika while the super nice women working at the front desk "talked" to my son. The tour was nice, thank you, Maria!
Stephan B — Google review
To move around in the artist's house, atelier and see so many of the works up close is a treat. Great staff adds to the experience and for an art museum it's very family friendly.

The Old Uppsala Museum, also known as Riksantikvarieambetet Gamla, is a captivating destination perfectly integrated into the surrounding landscape with its dome shape mirroring the Viking burial mounds. Visitors can immerse themselves in Viking myths, legends, and culture while exploring artifacts unearthed from the nearby archaeological site. The museum provides an excellent timeline of Nordic history, including the transition to Christianity in the 12th century.
This is a great museum. Yes there are a lot of copies and yes there is a ton to read, but it is extremely interesting. Just give yourself enough time to walk around the mounts, read all and in the museum, just grab a chair and stop to read and watch the videos. If you will run through it, of course you'll have the impression it is a weak museum. Take your time. Believe me, you will learn a lot.

Before you buy your ticket, go to the info stand in the corner on the left (inside). (See photo) There are QR codes to YouTube explainers of the history, paper maps of the area, information about the summer program, among other things. Great museum for children, with interactive displays and a dress-up corner. It’s a fairly small museum. I got around all the exhibits in under an hour. It would take a lot longer with children. Prices (2024) in photos. Gift shop has some beautiful things.
Lisbeth S — Google review
This is a very historic and important place for Viking history. It’s a great place to get outside for a bit and enjoy nature and go for a hike. I rode a Ryde scooter out here from Uppsala and it only took about 15 minutes. Perhaps read up on the place in Wikipedia or elsewhere before you go to gain appreciation for the site. Free entry to walking trails. I did not go in the museum. Oh…and you can hike and ride bikes on trails around the mounds which is fun.
Brian D — Google review
This was the worst museum I have ever seen. I expected a lot from Gamla Uppsala Museum, but It was and orribile experience. Basically I paid 150SEK ti read things I could have find on internet. 90% of objects in the museum are replica, so they are not the original, and are also very bad. Rocks with runes are made in plastic and lots of description are just in Swedish language. There are also lots of objects not well cared for (e.g. in a Cup behind the glass there was a dead fly). I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO GO THERE, JUST SAVE YOUR MONEY AND TAKE INFORMATION ON INTERNET!!!
Gianni N — Google review
Caught one of the tours. Have lots of good information and answered a ton of questions from my kids. The parking lot is just before the Google directions to the site but an easy walk from the museum parking lot.
Ryan D — Google review
Here you can know the values of old history and the livelihood of the people from the Sweden. There is a spot where you can meet the people explaining the old ways and also very polite to interact with. It was a lovely experience.
Dhruv A — Google review
Great museum, fascinating history of the area. English language translation on nearly everything
Barbara C — Google review
Extremely disappointing. You can see everything in under 5 minutes — and that’s being generous. It barely qualifies as a museum; there’s almost nothing to look at. Just a few displays, minimal information, and no real effort to make the experience engaging or educational. Definitely not worth the price — it should be free considering how little is there. Save your time and money, this place is a complete letdown.

Carolina Rediviva, the Uppsala University Library, is a must-visit for enthusiasts of rare books and maps. The library houses the Silver Bible and other priceless books, maps, and manuscripts in glass cases within a small, dimly lit gallery. Visitors can also explore a charming gift shop offering affordable and rare postcards and prints. The library itself is an old and beautiful space with ample study areas on upper floors away from the ground floor's crowds.
The museum there is amazing! It’s very small but one of the best museums I visited in Sweden. Also check out their store, it has a nice selection of non expensive and rare postcards and prints. Also the library itself is nice and old. I recommend taking an elevator and finding a place to work/study on the floors above the ground floor. It’s much nicer and less crowded

The gallery may be small at this library, but there is lots to see! There are three very big interactive screens to analyze the documents on display. Best of all, it has the most affordable gift shop in Uppsala—maybe in Sweden! So many awesome posters and paper products available, as well as some more high end items like trays, Umbrellas, etc

Biotopia in Uppsala is a captivating biological museum housed in a charming pavilion from 1910, nestled within a park in the city's residential area. The museum boasts original Art Nouveau interior decor and features lifelike dioramas with audio recordings to immerse visitors in the animal habitats. Just a short walk from the city center, this interactive museum offers detailed exhibits on local wildlife and ecosystems across its two floors.
A beautiful natural museum especially for the kids who can learn a lot from the displays and the interactive stories helps them understand the natural world. I would recommend it couples with small kids.
Steve J — Google review
I visited Biotopia with my teacher and classmates and had a great time! The exhibitions were interesting and a fun way to learn Swedish and about Swedish nature. A very nice and educational trip!

It's a small museum dedicated to local landscapes, plants and animals. You can find here the ecosystems of forests, seaside, bog, tundra etc. Everything is made with love to the nature! The entrance is free. You won't spend too much time here but Biotopia definitely worth to visit. There's also a children's corner and a library
Namig G — Google review
An interesting place to learn about wildlife for both adults and children. In the second floor they have exhibits depicting different types of ecosystem in Sweden and Upplands in particular. There are a lot of activities organized for children in the first floor, also an aquarium depicting aquatic life in Fyris river. This museum is free to visit.
Febrina M — Google review
Mostly local children go here but I think it's also a nice place for tourists. It's free and you can learn about animals in Sweden.
Thảo N — Google review
Not so big but definitely worth the visit, quick way to see Swedish wildlife. The people that were working there were welcoming and nice as well.
Mario L — Google review
I never visited the old biological museum. But I really love the makeover into Biotopia. All signage is in Swedish, but there’s interactive screens with seating at every exhibit so you can better understand the animals in each ecosystem diorama. It’s a quick museum to get through, with a lovely little gift shop. I appreciate the big parking lot with car charging ports built into the fencing.
Adam S — Google review
Love to spend my time here. 100% I would like to suggest this place to my friends. It is a good place to learn and watch how Sweden's (especially Uppsala) ecosystem occurs. There are also explanations in English, which really help non-Swedish speakers to understand the dioramas.

The museum is quite mediocre. The only interesting hall contains old scientific apparels and mechanisms. The art gallery is poor. But the biggest disappointment was the anatomical theater which is just... a theater where you can find nothing at all. And the entrance fee is expensive. Better don't waste your time and money here

Another sightseeing stop in Uppsala is the Gustavianum museum. It is located across from the cathedral so it is easy to find. It cost 50 SEK to get in but you get access to the guided tour as well, they do one in Swedish and a highlight tour in English. Note that It is closed on Mondays. The museum has artefacts from around the world but the focus is on local history. The medical theatre is a beautiful piece of work. On a rainy day you could easily spend half a day here but if you only take a browse through it will take you about an hour.

Was an interesting exhibition, with very different times. Also a lot of informations about everything.

Uppsala University, founded in 1477, is the oldest and most prestigious university in Sweden. It has a rich history as a theology school and boasts notable alumni such as the physicist Celsius. The university is located near the impressive Uppsala Domkyrka, Scandinavia's largest church and the burial site of Swedish royalty. With over 40,000 students and almost 4,000 staff, Uppsala University is a significant landmark in the city.
A felt I learnt more in the 6 months of my Erasmus there, than in the 4 previous years on my alma mater in Prague (VSE). A lot of quality study content, a lot of fun, and friendships that last whole life. Perfect! Thank you

Be careful with UUHO they are scamming students. Rent from heimstaden directly cost 4200 while the current rent is 5200 (March 2025) . Also the rooms are not maintained and deposit is also scammed out for the maintenance. Basically you become cash cow if if take room from UUHO uppsala housing .

I am a PhD student in Analytical Chemistry at Uppsala University and I feel responsible to share my experience, especially for international students considering pursuing a PhD here. Let me be clear: I believe Uppsala is an excellent university overall, with a strong international reputation and many brilliant people. But what I’ve experienced within my department has been deeply disappointing and harmful. I was well on track to finish my PhD, with one published paper, another fully drafted, and a third based on completed data, and I already had 75% of the data needed for a fourth paper. But instead of being supported to complete the degree, I was pushed to do a licentiate thesis under pressure, with unrealistic deadlines and without proper support. In the Organic Chemistry section of the department, students typically get up to two years to prepare and defend their licentiate thesis. In Analytical Chemistry, it’s standard to have at least one year just to analyze data and write a manuscript. But I was given only four months to analyze data, write and submit a manuscript, attend courses, teach undergraduate labs, and prepare and defend a licentiate thesis, all at once. This wasn’t just unfair, it was impossible to manage and shows how unevenly students are treated depending on who they are and where they’re from. I was also denied lab access, research software, and consistent supervision. The department claims I can still finish, but in reality, I only have access to my university email. Key meetings about my future were held in Swedish, despite the fact that I don’t speak the language and that all prior communication was in English. Requests for support or fairness were met with silence, excuses, or shifting explanations.

Heritage railroad
Step back in time and experience the charm of early 1900s travel with a journey on Lennakatten Heritage Railway in Sweden. This picturesque railroad offers rides on steam locomotives, vintage railcars, and classic buses along one of the country's most stunning routes. Stop at attractions like the Jernvagscafeet in Marielund or the August Vardshus pub in Almunge for delicious bites to eat.
Phenomenal narrow gauge train ride. Equipment is nurtured with excessive care. It’s a lovely ride through Swedish countryside with great access at the main station. The cafe in the middle is like a family reunion BBQ. Hidden gem of Europe.

Overall a great experience, worth trying! Keep in mind there are a lot of tourists and the train schedule is a little confusing at first.

Late review(June 2019): The star of this line, museum is the 'Nummer 5 Thor', the largest engine on this route. The routes is also quite long(30+ km) but we opted/forced to return from Marielund. At this station, there is a cafe but it was quite crowded. The best thing was that the engine was oiled a bit, water was refilled and the was reversed. Owing to aplenty space, this is a good spot for railfans. I would definitely revisit,it would be good to find out if things have changed.

Historical landmark
Linnaeus Garden, situated in Uppsala, Sweden, is a meticulously restored 18th-century botanical garden that provides a window into the life and work of Carl Linnaeus. This picturesque attraction features thousands of plant species and showcases beautifully manicured flower beds, lush lawns, and pruned hedges in the traditional 18th-century style.
The garden is really beautiful with a wide range of plant species and it shows a wonderful glimpse of the scientist's life as well. Also, it's absolutely free for Uppsala University students, you just need to bring your university ID card (or some concrete proof that you are admitted to the university as a student)
Abhinav R — Google review
A must-visit in Uppsala, especially because they are only open from May to September! Some of the succulents and Mediterranean trees from Linneanum were brought to the orangery yard to get much needed sun in the summer. Make sure to get the guided tour to learn more about the organization of the plants, and Linnaeus' life and work (please check their website for schedule) The garden itself is very pretty in the summer, and the three ponds simulating river, lake, and marshlands are the highlight of the garden. Ticket to Linneträdgården includes visit to Museum and Linnes Hammarby, which is worth to visit as well.
Febrina M — Google review
Having lived in the 18th century, Carl Linnaeus is a milestone figure in biological sciences. The venue hosts his house and a reconstructed botanical garden which he originated. In the house there is a small display on his research and family life + visitors can join a guided tour through the garden. Even though both the exhibition and the garden are rather compact, it is a pleasant, tranquil place not so generic to find in every tourist city. Uppsala in general may nicely serve as a one day trip from Stockholm: together with Gamla Uppsala, the old cathedral and the renowned university.
Aleksander A — Google review
Beautiful garden even if it is the end of summer (27/08/2018) and most plants are already dying back. Very well explained and presented. The house/museum itself is a little gem. Take advantage of the free audio guide. Even if sometimes the explanations might seem long, they increase the knowledge and understanding of Linnaeus and his family, the period during which they lived and his discoveries and studies as well as the importance of his classification for modern science and every day botany.

Linnaeus Garden is a very special place. It is part of the rich history of Carl Von Linné and houses very many of the plants he researched in his lifetime. You can learn a lot about the plants and his life in this garden. Take one of the guided tours and enjoy the views. Recommended to visit in summer time when most of the plants are in bloom. It's also good yo visit Linnés hammarby. Which is the place where he lived just outside Uppsala.

Nestled within the bustling Uppsala central station, the Cube of Art is a captivating digital art museum that invites visitors into a world where creativity meets technology. Standing at an impressive 7 meters tall, this interactive cube showcases six unique exhibits that engage guests of all ages. With a focus on artificial intelligence and interactivity, each exhibit offers something special—like the forest display that transforms shapes into animals or the city lights experience that dazzles with vibrant visuals.
It was really fun! me and my partner really enjoyed it! we first did the escape room and it was a bit challenging, it was my first excape room and I was anxious about it but it was easy to complete. The rest of the exhibition was waaaaay calmer, it´s basically just time for contemplation. And the personal is so kind and helpful. I hope there´s more escape rooms and exhibitions on the future! <3
Serena B — Google review
One of the most interesting interactive art exhibits I've been to. The 6 exhibits each with its own unique theme is ideal for all age groups. The algorithm in the forest exhibit detected the shapes very well to tranfigure them into animals. Same for city lights exhibit. Great fun. The butterfly exhibit could be a bit more interactive, in the sense that changing colors without controlling anything else seems like wasted potential. But the whole experience was calming and zen like.
Shree J — Google review
Nice setup! I might have expected a little more from the AI interpretation of our drawings in 2025 – or put in my 9-year old's words: "I drew a PERFECT airplane, but it become a CAR!" , but in overall it was a nice experience. Worth a visit.
Jimmy F — Google review
The exhibition is really nice and worth visiting. However, the City part was not working properly. The Ai was not fully repeating brush movements and as a result we got very weird cars and planes.
Mattias G — Google review
Super neat! We did the interactive art exhibit. There are five pieces that rotate every six minutes and they are all beautiful. Be prepared to take your shoes off though.
Lindsey H — Google review
The Cube of Art exhibition was a bit of a surprise experience to be honest. Initially I had thought we would be moving from cube to cube, but it was only in one single room "Cube" and the exhibitions kept changing. The kids loved each exhibition and I really enjoyed how interactive it was. A bit of a different experience than the usual museum. I definitely think it's worth a visit. Only downside is that I felt it was too overpriced for what you actually experience.

The Uppsala Art Museum is a nice place to visit if you’re interested in contemporary and modern art. It’s not very big, but the exhibitions are well-curated and offer a good mix of local and international artists. The museum is located inside Uppsala Castle, so you also get to explore a bit of history while visiting. The staff is friendly, and the entry is free, which makes it a great stop if you’re in the area. While the collection is not the most extensive, it’s worth checking out if you enjoy art.

What sets Uppsala Art Museum apart is its location in a former 17th-century palace, known as Uppsala Castle. The museum is housed in the northern wing of the castle, which adds a touch of grandeur and historical charm to the entire experience. The museum's collection is focused on modern and contemporary art, with a wide range of works that encompass various mediums, including paintings, sculptures, photography, and installations. Would not say this place is for everyone's taste but the entry was free. Would have enjoyed more classical art and paintings! Also the cafeteria downstairs is very nice for "fika"!

I went there to see the castle. I was not attentive to the exhibition but enjoyed a fairly priced coffee with a carrot cake, the exhibition had an free entrance. What I did not like was these protruding lamps in face height. If you faceplant in one of those , I imagine you could very easily get hurt in your eye. To me it seemed like glass that could get shattered and wound the eyeball. I might be wrong though.

The Evolution Museum of Paleontology, part of Uppsala University in Sweden, is a treasure trove for natural history enthusiasts. Home to Scandinavia's largest collection of dinosaur fossils, the museum boasts around 5 million specimens across zoology, paleontology, and mineralogy—though only a small portion is on display. Visitors can marvel at authentic dinosaur bones and explore unique paleontological finds from 20th-century expeditions to China.
Its amazing that this small museum has real dinosaur skeletons. The museum is small but very interesting. I was surprised why it was so empty. However it's open only for a short 4 hours every day except mondays.

Small museum on Uppsala University campus.Easily accessible by bus, which is great. You can also walk from central station Uppsala, but it takes about 25 minutes in a good pace. Cheap entry of 50 sek. The museum is pretty small, the docent was great and enthusiastic and helpful. You can easily be done in well under an hour, and that is if you are taking your time at each display. What the museum could have done better is the markings and explanation at each display, would be useful to have name, age, era consistently on each. Also, perhaps indicate if it is real or a reproduction. All in all, a good stop for the fossil interested folks. For the same entry fee one can access 2 other museums on campus.

Beautiful gardens! Properly labeled with botanic names and origins. And very well maintained. I could see that staff take a lot of care… The colours were fantastic! So many flowers and bushes and autumn colours. I saw so many different flowers for the first time ever. The glasshouse looked great too though I couldn’t go inside as it was closed, being a Monday. I had a great time walking around in the kitchen garden and the Baroque garden and other areas 😀

A shitty botanical garden, supposedly my backpack is too big, I should put it in a locker that is way too small. It is a 20 liter backpack and every almost normal guest on this day, carries three jackets around with him. The very friendly, helpful employee, said. "I told them that the backpack was too big before they bought the ticket." "this is a museum" a very helpful support. Also the employee's suggestion to divide my things into two lockers makes no sense if the base frame of the backpack is too big. If a botanical garden is a museum, then you should also describe it on your homepage and also the regulation with backpacks. I have now waited 2 hours to go to this botanical garden to be rejected with this form because of my backpack. So since I paid the 60 SEK at the machine, a refund is also not possible. The outdoor area is very nice, inside I paid I was not allowed to see.

It is very easy to book a guided tour from their website. Guided tour in English is available once per day at 12.30. The guided tour is perhaps my favorite part of the visit: very interesting facts about the life and works of Linnaeus! Since we visit in early spring not much of the plants has blossomed so it is better to visit in late spring or in summer. Still had a very refreshing walk in the naturreservat around it. The staffs are very helpful as well.

An absolute must-see in Uppsala. If you pay to enter the Linnaeus Garden in the city itself, entry here is free, and vice-versa. The price of a ticket is great value, as both places are not only fascinating, but also incredibly beautiful- utterly breathtaking. You either need to take the bus, a car, or cycle to get here, as there's a bit of a trek, but the countryside is very pleasant and the place is definitely worth it. I have seldom been anywhere so gorgeous! The grounds are utterly charming, with a great little cafe-gift shop as well. Staff are lovely. The house itself is fascinating, and very well-preserved. I'm definitely coming back! Tack så mycket!

There were a few groups of ladies having small talk. I am sorry that I don't speak Swedish, I spoke English and used body language to order. The staff understood me haha, they didn't speak English (I am not complaining). Overall it was a great experience.

I used to buy cakes occasionally here two years ago and they tasted good. However, today I bought a passionfruit cake for take away when revisiting the city…then found a fly (alive) on the cake in the takeaway box……Things do happen sometimes, so I was trying to tolerate - until the waitress did not apologize or explain or say anything. Instead she only threw away the one with fly, getting another piece of cake from the same plate where there was fly, and gave to me in silence. She also didn’t ask me whether do I want the same kind of cake since there was fly on the plate…Food hygiene needs improvement, and the service needs even more to be improved. Very disappointing experience and will try to avoid purchasing there.

Service ruined the experience. The café itself is nice but despite being the only customers we had to stand and wait for 10 minutes while the barista fiddled with something behind the counter and didn't acknowledge us. When we finally got to order she could only remember one item at a time and so had to go fetch it and add garnish and stuff while we stood and waited just to name the next item. We ordered things that needed to be grilled and everything. She barely said a word throughout the interaction besides asking if we wanted "ice cream or whipped cream" with our desserts without mentioning it's not included.

We were 4 people who had a salad and we thought the food was bad (too salty bad ingredients) also the wait time was so long and they got the order confused. Atmosphere is very nice though and i really like the renovation and the free citrus water is very nice.

Super wide variety of cheesecakes. By far the best cheesecake I have eaten in Uppsala, but nothing special. Be careful when you pick a cake because some cakes didn’t look fresh. Hot chocolate was big portion, but just average quality.

Since this is the only place of its kind in uppsala there's really not much comparison, but the place is unnecessarily expensive and the food is really underwhealming. If you go skip the food it's really not worth the 150sek you'll pay. The place doesn't even have free wifi for crying out loud, I guess they wanted me to pay for it as well. Being so cheap really hurts the reputation of the bar. Go only if you really want to do pool or shuffleboard, otherwise go to an actual bar/restaurant.

Meanwhile same time, People can enjoy different live sports in this restaurant, this is best sports bar in Uppsala for those who can enjoy all the moments with friends. Beautiful park which looks, feels, and smells absolutely great during summer time. Perfect for picnicking, dog walking, and just chilling while taking in the sights and fragrances of blooming flowers. I visited the park both in winter and summer, and the transformation is insane. Just don't go into one of the toilets 🚻. There's no water to flush and....I guess you get the rest.

I have read some of the other reviews, and so I will include a disclaimer here that this review is from the perspective of a tourist. My son was very excited to come here for the day. The staff were very friendly, and the place is huge with so many different activities. My son absolutely loved it. We came in the early afternoon on a weekday in June, so it was not very busy. We stayed right until closing at 7pm. I will note that adults do not get to participate, which is unfortunate (for me; though I'll admit in hindsight I am unsure whether I really couldn't participate or if I simply misunderstood that "parents are free" to mean I couldn't 🤔). But otherwise was a great experience.
Francesco A — Google review
The place is placed away from the centre, but that's to be expected... Saving coats, but still isn't cheap. Inside one one finds a lot of fun, but not much variety.

Maqbool K — Google review
Sad to say this, but the place was amazing and well priced before JumpYard bought it. Every single price has gone up more than 100%. And nothing has been improved. The staff seems less happy too so I guess they get no part of the new revenue. After having spent countless weekends here before the shift in ownership, I am guessing this is the last one.
Navid Z — Google review
Horrible party experience that spoiled the birthday day for my son. 1. They request kids who come to birthday party to arrive 20 minutes before it starts. In those 20 minutes the kids get to watch others play but sit still and not enter the place. 2. The only way I could get the party host was to demand that she appears at the reception. It was 1 minute before the official start and the staff did nothing aside from claiming that we should wait. 3. The guard dis not let one of the guests who arrived late in and was rude. Showing the armband that we had left for the guest did help but neither the reception staff nor the party host helped. 4. The same guard was rude to me when I entered the unstaffed reception area to take a band-aid for an injured kid. He refused to provide the band-aid immediately, to say his name and only claimed that I must wait for someone to appear at the reception and ask for a band-aid. The reception is unstuffed over long periods, the place is cash free. The only thing I could have stolen from there were the socks. So that unnamed rude guard was protecting the socks at the expense of an injured kid. If their overall attitude towards safety is in line with this, I believe it is simply dangerous. 5. They don’t have enough climbing equipment, which is a minor issue of course in the light of all the rest. 6. Finally there are no customer service contact details and the booking confirmation is sent from a noreply address

Place changed last years and it's unrecognizable to those remembering it from just few years back. I just to live close by and been there regularly, but since we moved... Now it seems to me as the most modern and well kept place/shopping mall I have seen in Sweden (does not mean I checked all, but seen all in Uppsala anyway). One can find there almost any store one might need and it's pretty pretty too. Negative I would say that it is to spread out for two locations and without a car it's very uncomfortable to move about.

Nice place for indoor kids activities, but the place was not clean at all,...
Ahmed E — Google review
Place is surely big enough to contain hundreds of happy kids running around, but as many adults with pain in their wallets. Price of 229kr per child and additional 29 per adult and that's without a locker 🛅 for another 20 is outrageous I would say! This kind of fun should not cost almost 3hundreds. Otherwise it's a nice place. At least stuff was friendly (mainly upptill 25y). However one more thing comes to mind... Confusion about opening 🪟 hours! They say closing time is 19 o'clock daily, however above the entrance is clearly stated 20, so...?!
Eryck B — Google review
I’m not exactly sure where to start, this place is a joke to put mildly! I came here with my family, utterly shocked at the lack of cleanliness and lackadaisical attitude of the staff, very disappointed! I found yoghurt spilt on the floor near the dinosaur slide as well as the cannon ball area and spilt drinks near the corridor path leading to the front reception - I notified the staff twice and what did they do? Nothing! Not only is it not clean but it’s a safety hazard as anyone could easily slip and hurt themselves. Will definitely not be revisiting, waste of money! To top it off, they advertise that the place closes at 8pm (on google as well as the large sign plastered outside the entrance, yet they shut at 7pm, when questioned about this we were told they haven’t had a chance to change the sign?!).
S I — Google review
The place is not clean, really disgusting. Dirt, chunks of dust everywhere, crumbs of foam rubber as well as used band aids. You can see this everywhere and every time you visit. I have been there for several kids parties and the place is superdirty even when you are there when they open. The garbage bins are superfull. The hallway is chaotic and the floor moist from the people going in. The party hosts just bring the food to the party room no assistance or service, even though some really seem to try to be nice. The last time the carousels were gone, so they just block the area poorly so most of the kids didn't understand it was blocked. They also charge adults which is ridiculous.
Kattis L — Google review
Plastic play Park with inside carousel (magic tree with a little laser gun to shoot OR an up and down spinning ride), little bicycles, slides, climbing, ball pits, etc. Basic boring food with no nutrition or taste that took 30-45 minutes before pick up. Kids love and parents can endure, but would be wonderful if we could buy fruit, juice, tea, and other more natural food. Salad was nothing fulfilling or tasteful. Give usgoodfood and we stay longer and spend more. Overall, an option on a dark November day in Uppsala which has very few attractions for its citizens. Kids had a great time! Finally found the bumper cars on the top floor.

Uppsala universitet Evolutionsmuseet is a hidden gem that promises an engaging experience for visitors of all ages. This museum features two distinct buildings, one showcasing an impressive array of taxidermied animals and the other dedicated to fascinating fossils and dinosaur exhibits. While the information accompanying each display may be brief, the diversity of collections ensures that curiosity remains high throughout your visit.
It is well worth a visit if you are in upsalla. The museum is made up of 2 buildings. One has a lot of stuffed and preserved animals. The other has fossils and dinosaur displays as well as a cafe and children’s play area.
I B — Google review
I was surprised to learn about it on Instagram for the first time. It’s next to the Botanical Garden and it’s placed across two buildings. The entrance for adults is 70sek. It needs a revamp due to not presentations or translations (maybe a bit more interactive?), but the actual taxidermy and general exhibits those were quite interesting!
Trix L — Google review

Md. I — Google review
Amazing experience. They have a T-Rex and a pentaceratops (which I didn't know that existed)
Byron G — Google review
With a generic connection of taxidermied animals of varying quality (most seem done around 1880 or so), it's about what you'd expect. The first floor of exhibits of local and worldwide fauna are alright, if a bit dusty. The sparse second floor displays are particularly sad, most of them pale, unrecognizable lumps of flesh floating in jars. But that said, 50 kr gets you onto both the museum of evolution and the dinosaur/mineral exhibits down the road, so it's really alright for the price if you know what to expect-- especially for a small museum. If badly taxidermied animals make you chuckle, you'll probably have a great time!
A.J. E — Google review
Worlds most discreet museum? Lived in uppsala for 10 years and visited Botaniska trädgården dozens of times but only found out about this museum when I missclicked on Google maps. O.o
Syntax E — Google review
The collections are large, and the information provided is good but often short, so it's a bit of just going on and on looking at a never-ending number of taxidermised animals and old bones. The collections are so diverse, though, that it keeps interest piqued for nearly the entire visit. Don't miss that there are two buildings to visit!
